“ Nohonani Condo #205 was everything described and more. This is the perfect place for couples traveling with another couple or with one or two children. The floorplan allows for perfect privacy. They even converted the main bathroom into a private en-suite for the master bedroom. The kitchen was fully appointed for everything you would need should you decide to prepare your own meals (just add the food). The grounds are in beautiful shape, the pool is crystal clear and inviting. However, the best part of the resort is the location. The beachfront at the Nohonani is arguably the best in all of the Honokowai area, and at high tide, probably the only available beach area in Honokowai. Then there are the seas turtles. Sea turtles are a daily occurance at the Nohonani. We saw them swim by daily. And on a few occasions, they came up onto the beach. The views from the balcony and the master bedroom windows are spectacular. The owners, Tip and angela, have taken great care to furnish their condo with everything you'd need but not want to pack. In unit laundry is wonderful - you can pack light and do a quick load of laundry mid-stay. It was a short drive to Lahaina or Kapalua for shopping and dining, but the best thing we discovered was the local Farmer's Market each M-W-F that two blocks away. The beds are comfortable, the showers have good pressure, free wi-fi in the room. Cable TV (if you really need it). This is a very special location and the rates are very reasonable. It made an awesome vacation even more special. You won't be disappointed. ”

Best Family Holiday!

“ The owners of this condo thought of everything. We had all the amenities of home. The condo was located right on a private beach, quiet and tranquil.Our accomodations here were the best that we have expereinced in all of our travels. We saw sea turtles on a regular basis and were only 5 feet away from them in the water, in the evening the turtles came to sleep on the beach. We were able to see them standing about 3 feet away it was amazing our daughter fell in love with them. The condo was within walking distance to many strip malls and farmers markets as well as other public beaches. Our family hopes to come back to maui some day and when we do we will be contacting Tip and angela. ”

“ This is an immaculate, well-apponted condo in the perfect spot. It is very obvious that the owners live part of the year here. It does not feel like a rental unit - it feels like a home. We sat on the lanai and watched the rising sun turn Molokai and Lanai orange and pink each morning, then watched the sunset over the islands each evening. We swam at the beach, waded in the pool, walked to the store, and watched the turtles play. All of Maui was beautiful, but my favorite spot was our "home" at 205. ”

We checked into the condo with the info given to us and were pleasantly surprised when we entered. We were attending a wedding at the Hyatt in Lahaina along with the parents of the groom. They were in Condo 200. We will definitely return for a stay in the future. The Condo is located right on the ocean and shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc, are located near by. We were able to swim and snorkel with the sea turtles right out our lanai door. We highly recommend a stay in Condo 205. ”

The kitchen had everything we needed. Our first day there, we were invited by neighbors to a pupu party. That level of friendliness continued through out our stay. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the condo is clean and neat, it is literally right on the beach, and Napili Bay is awesome. One thing no one has mentioned, that I thought I would add to your reviews is the unique sense of community at Napili Bay Resort. In talking to other folks at the BBQ, or just in passing, I learned to my surprise that we were the only people who were visiting Napili Bay Resort for the first time. Which speaks volumes about what it is like. We were quickly adopted into the fold, and invited to the "watch the sunset together with snacks and drinks" ritual every evening. Sometimes there was music, sometimes just conversation, but it was always fun, and I appreciated that whenever I would run into someone at the resort I'd receive a pleasant "hi Greg". Already planning our return for next year, and hope you'll have us back! ”

“ Nice location, clean unit. We weren't there very long, but were content with what it provided. Loved that the laundry facilities were in a separate unit and open 24/7. The only thing we really noticed was how thin the walls were and sound really travelled. You could hear people taking showers, having conversations, etc. It wasn't bothersome at all, just noticeable. Would stay there again, and got a beautiful gift basket as well. Staying longer would have been nice because Napili Bay seemed a prime spot for snorkeling. ”

“ The lanai has a wonderful view, enjoying many sunsets and watching whales. The beach was ok. It rained quite a bit and there was a sudden drop off into the water, so it really isn't good for children. We ended up getting in the car and going to different beaches. The condo needs updating and was definitely not worth the rental price I paid. The shower water temperature would change continually while using it. I usually stay in Kihei and really enjoy that area of Maui much better. Had a nice time (it's Maui, after all), but will probably not stay there again. ”

“ Liz, were glad you enjoyed the whales, beautiful sunsets and our ok beach. This condo does have an older remodel with tiled counters - exactly as displayed in photos and video on our website. We trust you found it fully cleaned and stocked for your visit. Recent updates include a brand new pillow-top mattress, and we just installed a new dishwasher. I personally checked the shower temperature and couldnt duplicate the problem you describe, but had you contacted one of us as you were invited to do if you experienced any difficulty we would have checked it out immediately. “ Unit 207 of Napili Bay Resort Condo is in Napili Bay probably the most beautiful bay in Maui. The unit is second floor beach front, is on the beach, you see the ocean, you hear the ocean, you fell the ocean, it's amazing I'm a surfer, i can hear the sound of the waves for days, it's not noisy. I didn't surf on august, in the bay you can paddle board or body board(you'll find 2 body boards in the unit). I found the unit 207 very clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, you have everything you need, it's quite and really well kept as the entire condo, with parking, BBQ area, laundry. Napili Bay condo resort It's 10 minutes drive to Lahaina, you have a well equipped market in 2 minutes drive too. Having dinner on the lanai watching the sunset is wow!!!Amazing. I will miss unit 207 & Napili Bay, I will come back! ”

The only problem we had was with the deep sand and the rapid decent due to my husband's legs not being in a very stable mode. He is in the middle of seeing a doctor and there are some issues. A flat beach would have been the best for us, but I did not ask about it in advance, so it is a lesson learned. Loved the snorkeling and swimming with the sea turtles!!! ”

It was well furnished with everything we needed for our 4-night stay. The condo was clean and the beds were comfortable. The lack of a/c wasn't a problem because it was cool enough at night with the cross ventilation while listening to the soothing sound of the waves. From the patio, we had a great view of the bay and the sunsets over the edge of Molokai. Two very nice beach chairs, boogie boards and towels were provided. The very easy access to the great beach was a blessing. The only problem was on the first night our next door neighbors were up late into the early morning talking on their patio. Fortunately, this only happened on one night. Chuck was great with his email communications before we left home and quick to follow-up after our stay. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay in an exceptional location. We will definitely consider returning the next time we come to Maui. ”

Winter wonderland.

“ We arrived at Condo 207 the first week of Feb. and were pleasantly surprised with a basket of fruit, chocolates, etc. The condo was clean and the beds were comfy. We didn't need the a/c because it was chilly at night which was a surprise since most of our visits have been in winter and it hadn't been as cool. We could walk out the door and practically fall into the water and the bay is great even though it was a little choppy while we were there. There were beach chairs, towels, and boogie boards and probly noodles too since we left ours behind. It was well furnished with everything you'd need. We liked everything about the place except for the service. We paid a cleaning fee which I thought meant we had someone to take care of the condo (take out trash, change towels, maybe make the bed) but it didn't. We were pretty much on our own with that. There is an upside to that because we didn't have people roaming around in our room during the day while we were out. Kathy was very nice and gave us some good tips on places to eat. Chuck was good about emailing and staying in touch before we left home. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. ”

2nd time at our favorite place on Maui

“ This was our second time staying at Napili Resort condos, and it is still the amazing, idyllic place I remember. We truly truly love this place ... we came here for a week with the goal of spending our days lounging around, swimming, and cooking yummy meals for ourselves. Mission accomplished. We've stayed many other places on the island and Napili Bay is by far our favorite. There are only two potentially negative aspects to this place: (1) no a/c, and (2) we found our bed (and the pillows in particular) to be rather uncomfortable. The no a/c isn't a big deal, but if you couple that with having trouble sleeping ... can be a bad combination. I'm hoping against all hope that within the next year or two I'll see Napili Bay Resort advertise their new, extremely comfortable beds. Honestly, the next time we look to travel to Maui, the idea of restless sleep will give me pause to think about whether we really want to go back here for a 3rd time. ”

The only thing that would have made our particular unit more enjoyable is if it was more upgraded, after all it is beachfront. The interior looks like it hasn't been updated in a few decades, otherwise it was comfortable and you can't really complain too much about the view or falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves... ”

“ My daughter and I enjoyed a blissful week of paradise in the Napili Bay Resort Condo 207. We arrived to a clean, well-equipped condo and the lovely ocean roar as our constant companion. We saved money by eating most meals in and appreciated the little extras like sharp knives, a blender, and small cooler . The two beach chairs and boogie boards (provided) saved us the hassle (and expense!) of renting these necessities. The extremely comfortable bed, nice breeze, and ocean waves gave us some much needed R&R. I wish we could spend every spring break at this resort, particularly in condo 207! Our friends stayed at the over-priced and over-touristy Westin Hotel. They spent most of their days in front of our condo enjoying our little slice of paradise. We noticed quite a few locals enjoying the beach which seemed a good indication that Napili is the place to be! The a.m. snorkeling was incredibly and usually the bigger waves came in the afternoon, perfect for boogie boarding. And, of course, the nightly parade of whales we could watch from our lanai sealed the deal. We want to come back!!!! ”

“ The one problem both of us experienced was with the shower. A hand held shower generally is more hepful and certainly more versitile. Even more important, the shower was inconsistant. One second we were freezing and the next we were being scalded. That was a serious problem. I almost fell trying to escape the hot water. The location was excellent. The grounds were beautiful. Parking was good. The whales provided much entertainment. With the exception that I mentioned, our experience was very positive. ”

“ Napili Bay is a fantastic location, with great snorkeling and swimming. Condo 207 has a wonderful view of the bay and was very clean, but there were a few problems. All of the kitchen knives need to be replaced. We could not cook AT ALL and ended up throwing out a lot of expensive groceries because all of the knives were so dull. We happened to be on Maui during a particularly hot time, and the condo was sweltering. A portable fan is needed in this unit. We knew there was no air conditioner, but the small ceiling fan did not circulate the air near the bed -- and the layout of the building prevented the natural breezes from cooling this condo. We loved the location, and although the condo and the property are older, they were comfortable. If you are looking for a bare bones property as a jumping off point for your adventures, this is the place, but if you want to spend a lot of time at the condo or do any cooking, look for someplace recently updated and better equipped. ”

Trip of a lifetime

“ I recently traveled to Maui with my 73-year-old mother. This was her first trip to the islands and it was a lifelong dream. She was not disappointed. Our condo was clean and had all the amenities to make our stay very comfortable. There is a little shopping center five minutes away that had everything we needed for our stay. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. Being lulled to sleep at night by the ocean waves and awakened by the singing birds was phenomenal. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai and then enjoyed the setting sun from the beach in front of our condo. Our time at Napili Bay Resort was fantastic. If we make it to Maui again we will no doubt stay at the same location. Thank you so much for making my Moms dream trip come true. ”

“ The condo was very nicely furnished. Neighbors are great, very friendly, and you have access to the BBQs outside. You will find anything you need inside the condo, from dishes to beach chairs, including all the little things like a cork screw, etc. The location can't be beat. Great beach, calm waters in the bay, no high rise buildings... Great snorkeling, we saw turtles and manta rays right in front of our place (it's really cool to see a turtle just 20 steps from your building when others drive for hours for a chance to do the same thing). I have to admit, the little gift basket we got at the beginning really sold us from the start; they had us at Hello... ”

After much internet research we booked our vacation at Napili Bay through Aloha condos based on the great photos and testimonials of those vacationers that had gone before us. We were not dissapointed and now it's our turn to describe how our expectations were exceeded. If you want to stay in a big fancy resort with a pool and a spa, this isn't the place for you, however, if you want to be directly on a gorgeous, intimate beach with the sound of the ocean waves crashing and the convenience of your own kitchen to cook delicious meals and eat them on the lanai as the sun sets, well you have probably stumbled upon a little piece of heaven. The kitchen had everything we needed. The only issue was that the water filter needed to be changed in the fridge but I am sure the owners have attended to that since we gave them a heads up about it. There were beach chairs in the unit as well as boogie boards which we certainly used and had lots of fun with. We never had trouble parking and in general our stay was peaceful, relaxing and better than I had expected. We would definitely recommend this condo and are hoping to come back next year! ”

We stayed in Unit 207 which is a beach front end unit with an excellent view of the ocean and Molokai. The view is amazing and you are really close to the ocean. These studio units are just perfect. It was so nice to have a kitchenette in your suite so you could cook and take lunches down to the beach or enjoyed eating on the lanai. There were beach supplies which we used everytime we went to the beach. The place was very clean. Despite the temperature of Hawaii, the condo was generally cool due to the nice ocean breeze that came in through the wood blinds. There's also an electric and ceiling fan to keep the condo cool. These wooden blinds are also great for keeping the sunlight out in the morning. There are also books, cds, and movies in the room. There's TV, a vcr and dvd player. The free wireless internet was great and we never had any problems with it. Very convenient location overall- Napili is less commercial then Kaanapali or Wailea, more nestled in a sort of residential area, so it's cozier and more quiet but really close by is a little general store (2 min walk) and Napili Plaza with a regular sized grocery store and is short drive away. It is out of the hustle and bustle of Lahaina, but still very close to go for dinner or lunch. We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, providing you're not looking for a higher end hotel. This is much more relaxing. ”

Unit 207 offers lots of amenities, it has everything you could possibly want during your vacation. It's clean and relatively spacious. The lanai offers absolutely spectacular views from sunrise to sunset. It's a quiet complex at night (other than the pounding surf), we rarely heard noise from other guests past 9:00 PM. The only two negative things we have to say about unit 207 is that it's time for a general updating, fresh paint, updating the shower/bathroom area - that kind of thing. The other minor criticism is that there needs to be a decent set of kitchen knives - the ones that are there just "don't cut it". We ended up doing a lot of our own cooking this year to save some money and decided to buy a few knives to use while there. In our opinion the area of Napili Bay is the best location on Maui. You don't have the crowds and bustle of Kihei or Lahania - but they're both close enough when you're ready for that! The north-west part of Maui offers the best snorkeling on the island, much of it in Napili Bay or the two neighbouring bays Honokeana or Kapalua - couldn't be closer. This year we gave up waiting for 30 - 45 minutes to get into the Gazebo restaurant (right next door in Honokeana Cove) for breakfast (holiday time is way too precious to be standing waiting to get into a restaurant). Instead we went to the other end of Napili Bay to the Sea House Restaurant which is part of the Napili Kai resort. We were surprised to find excellent value (breakfast for two $20), outstanding service, and delicious food. All of this with no wait to get in and an outstanding ocean front view. There are cheaper places to stay on Maui, but if you're looking in the Napili area for an ocean front condo, you'd be hard pressed to find better value. We've done lots of looking around at similar units and the Napili Bay still comes out ahead of many others. Mahalo! ”

Not only was that a very lucky number for us, it proved to be a paradise of casual Hawaii with the beachfront location, complete with the rolling waves, gentle breezes, and fabulous view. From our first positive impression with a gift of Hawaiian fruit, candies and nuts, this was a perfect spot for several families to gather. The manager, Lee, was always very courteous and friendly and made us feel very welcome, especially with our nightly gatherings at the grill area for family meals and fun. The grounds were also well groomed and tidy. The private beach access found us loving the ocean waves and an uncrowded, uncluttered beach for sunning, strolling, and exploring. We will definitely return in the future, hoping to find the condo facility as clean and as well kept as before! It was a perfect getaway, with all the comforts of home, and then some! And there is easy access to a small shopping mall nearby. The only drawback was limited parking, but the place was full, which is a good indicator of a visitor's satisfaction to Napili Bay Resort, one away from the more tourist-driven ones. “ This was our third stay at Napili Bay (first time in this unit). We have always stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the beach (in 1999, 2001, and 2008). We love the view and sleeping to the sound of the ocean. The beach is a perfect, beautiful, calm crescent. The units are simple, but more than adequate for our needs. They may not be elegant, but are well-stocked with the basics one needs to live comfortably. There is no need for A/C, given the constant breeze off the ocean. In general it is a quiet, family-friendly area, but the locals enjoy this stretch of beach as well, and one night we were kept up until the early morning by some folks hanging out in front of the property (all beaches in Hawaii are public property - so this might be a problem wherever one stayed). This was the first time we knew about the gazebo restaraunt two properties down the beach. They have the best breakfast food I have ever eaten - and the long lines to prove it! Do not miss it!! ”

The condo is always clean & well supplied with all of the cooking necessities you would need. Grocery stores are within a 20 minute walk or a short drive. There is some great "fast-food" nearby & some first-class restaurants a short drive away. The beach is just a few steps from the condo & beach towels, beach chairs & various toys are supplied with the condo. We use the on-grounds BQQ several times a week to cook dinner. This is a wonderful convenience for us! I also like having a coin washer & dryer available for the guests as our stay is usually 2 weeks. It makes the packing much lighter! We would recommend a condo at Aloha Condos to any anyone! Enjoy!! ”

We were the only ones with an Ocean front room and the most incredible view as well as a welcome basket! With the full kitchen and outdoor bbq, we felt right at home. There's just something about sitting on the Lanai, with the breath taking view while having your BBQ steak dinner. Our room was very nice and included free wi-fi. At night we could listen to the sound of the waves rolling up on the beach and enjoy a moonlit walk along the crescent shaped beach.The bay itself was excellent for snorkeling and swimming as well as for light scuba diving.The studio like room was nicely kept and quiet from the adjoining rooms.The kitchenette was also a plus for cooking as well as the outdoor BBQ and washer/dryer in the common area.I highly recommend this condo for those who don't need all of the five star luxuries of a large hotel. Our stay was part of our honeymoon...We loved Hawaii... ”

It takes a little getting used to a bedroom on the Front Street side, where there is some traffic noise (I believe all the units are like that). The grounds are immaculate. You need to have a little skill to park in the stalls at Lahaina Roads. Recommend you let passengers out first! We walked about a mile to to historic Lahaina a couple of times. There are good restaurants within a couple of blocks of Lahaina Roads if you don't want to drive. The kitchen has everything you would need to eat there. It is a price beater, as well. Fantastic value. Would stay there again. Neil & Lyndy California ”

We loved the décor, comfortable bed and furniture, cleanliness of the unit, in -suite laundry, air conditioning, lovely grounds and pool as well as the amenities and little extras (first aid kit, beach towels, soaps, etc.) The condo was very well equipped with all the necessities for a most pleasant stay. Seeing turtles in the ocean from our lanai was a real thrill. We talked to other travelers who were staying in more upscale areas (at a more "upscale” price of course) and they all agreed our ocean front view, being in a quieter residential area (not so busy and touristy) as well as the convenience to shops and restaurants made this condo the best choice possible. We enjoyed our stay so much, were sad to leave and hope to come back again! ”

Great Views and Location

“ We have stayed at Lahaina Roads previously in a condo without airconditioning and although the other was more modern, this condo (312) was well positioned and the air conditioning was well worth it. The home was nice inside and clean, the pool was well maintained, and having the outdoor grill area made burgers for lunch fun! The only negatives I found were that the cleaning fee is pretty large for the size of the condo. There was adequate cooking pots, but every single knife needed sharpening badley which made all our meals in slightly harder to prepare. On a whole, I would definitly go back as the location was within walking distance of downtown Lahaina and only a short drive from many beautiful beaches. If you have time, go downtown to Thai Chef for dinner- bring your own booze and enjoy the best place we ate at in Lahaina! Wonderful stay and can't wait to go back! ”

We started calling him the "Mayor of Lahaina Roads", because he was so friendly with my new neighbors and they were so friendly with us. I have friends visiting Maui soon & recommended the condo to them, also. ”

We have traveled to the Islands since 1970; trust me this is what you think of when going to Hawaii. Of course, if you are into the Disney Land experience of traveling it is not for you. This is how real people experience the islands. You experience it as a local; grocery store is within walking distance, as is shopping mall, and several great restaurants. Just rent a small car; slots do NOT accomodate a Lincoln Continental or Hummer! Linda provides anything and everything one could want. I actually should be saying that the place "sucks" so that no one else books it, but I've been troubled over the years by the number of tourists that don't experience the real Hawaii. Nice people live here and nice visitors stay here. Wailea, Makena, and Kanapalea are easy excursions. Do not stay in Kihea if you can stay here. We feel like we are at home when we walk into the condo. And you will not find a better view anywhere, even at twice the price. Pool is cool,beach is nearby since rocks are in front. However, you will see a beautiful sunset with upto 30 sailboats anchored in front. Its just where one should go if one wants to experienced the real Hawaii. Lynda is a very nice person to deal with and leaves most ammenities in her condo so that you don't have to buy them. It is quiet and peaceful. We've traveled world wide but really enjoy the "local experience" of staying at Linda's. Don't tell anyone else though! Very appreciative Alaskans ”

We were married 37 years ago in May so Maui was the perfect choice to kick back and relax and to celebrate our anniversary. Mornings and evenings were spent on the lanai enjoying rainbows and sunsets and also spotting sea turtles, spinner dolphins, and watching the many snorklers. Lots of action on that beach for sure. We walked every morning along the beach to the Black Rock area and back. We ate breakfast on the lanai daily, but explored many wonderful restaurants both North and South along the highway. Sensei and Merrimans Restaurants were our favorites. The Maui Kai Resort and Condo #504 was a perfect location for us. The condo is extremely well equipped, very clean, and a very comfortable "home away from home". Unlike a hotel room we didn't really mind spending a lot of time in and around the condo. Great Cd's, the ever constant changing ocean surf, and beautiful sunsets really lulled us to hang around and be grateful for beautiful, private time to relax and rest. “ We arrived at this condo on april 26, 2013 and stayed for 7 days. We were so delighted to find the condo not only very clean but with one of the best views of the ocean I have ever experienced. While at the condo I believe I spent ninety percent of my time on the lanai viewing the sunset and other activities in the water below the condo. The sunsets were breathtaking to say the least. Although we did not see any whales we did see plenty of Marine life from the lanai. This condo is located in a great location and you have plenty of areas to choose from for dinner, shopping and entertainment.. You are within minutes of great snorkeling locations if you choose to leave the condo to explore other areas. However, there really is no need to leave the condo area because there is great snorkeling and other water activity located on the site. They have a very relaxing pool that has plenty of sun or shade depending on your desires. The owners of this condo have taken great lengths to make sure that they have provided enough information on all activities around the area and there is a detailed book that you can reference. The condo has all the amenities that you could possibly want for a vacation site. The TV and entertainment center was excellent and there is also a TV in the bedroom. All of the kitchen equipment is very clean and well taken care of which provides a place for preparing breakfast or any other meal. We felt so at home at this location and believe if you consider it you will also. You cannot go wrong with the price or the accommodations and the clean environment you will be spending your time in. Book it ! ”

Refrigerator, bathroom, and premises were nice and clean. Waking up every morning and sitting on the Lanai with a cup of coffee and nice breakfast with my family was bliss, we enjoyed long walks on the beach. We even had our dinners on the Lanai with beautiful sunset. Lyn made a beautiful condo with good furnishings and everything we could imagine (boogie boards/coolers). “ Very attentive manager (Lyn Magorno), who managed to stay in touch even though she was abroad and arrange last minute arrangements for me & my family. We were grateful--mahalo, Lyn! The place itself is fine--it's got a beautiful view, hot tub & pool below (not on ocean side FYI), computer & printer access in the poolhouse along with ping-pong (handy if you're still printing boarding passes). Easy parking in the streets below (any spot--1st come, 1st served). The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, spices, pots/pans. The refrigerator, bathroom, and premises were nice and clean. It's a solid stay. It is slightly smaller (maybe 890sq ft?), but that's to be expected. The pation on the 5th floor with a view & the roar of the ocean below is an awesome lullaby. The only reason I hold back from 5 stars is I reserve that rating to a place that is truly above and beyond all expectations, and this one was just as nice as expected. A solid 4 star stay I do not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thank you again, Lyn Magorno! ”

“ We saw the photos online, but were blown away when we walked in the front door to an amazing view that drew us out immediately to the large lanai. I lounged on the chaise for a while to soak it all in. 180 degree vista with the islands of Molokai and Lanai to set it off! The lanai set enabled us to see over the railing and we used the swivel chairs to take in everything from a monk seal, whales, catamarans, surfers and to rainbows. We slept wonderfully well hearing the waves from a comfy king bed. That lanai and view awaited us once we rubbed the sleep from our eyes. We discovered they even have free coffee in the morning downstairs (with cups/lids). We'd grab some for our walk along a long stretch of Ka'anapali beach, dabbling our feet in the heavenly surf and sand! We fixed some meals in --the kitchen having everything we needed and more-breakfast was an absolute on the lanai but Maui has such great restaurants, we found ourselves eating out for dinner much of the time. It was great to either have central a/C available or let the ocean breeze in through the sliding doors. Al and Lyn, the owners have made a beautiful condo with lovely furnishings and everything we could imagine...even boogie boards and coolers. Mahalo to you two. We'll be back to 504 as soon as we can! ”

We strive to make our condo as pleasurable for our guests as possible with many amenities, extras and comforts. We do however, appreciate hearing if there is any kind of problem right away. In this case regarding the A/C rattling, if the front desk been contacted, maintenance would have fixed it. There is also the option of calling us or our on-island contact as well, but no one was called. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the issue until reading it in a review online. We immediately called the front desk and maintenance went in and heard the low setting making some noise while the medium and high were ok. A new motor was installed in less than an hour and it very effective and very quiet for everyone. Mahalo, Lyn and Al (owners) ”

Especially appreciated the beach amenities - umbrella, cooler and snorkel gear - and very comfortable bed. Saw lots of whales in the channel as well as an occasional turtle below and even a pod of dolphins! The "resort" itself had a nice grilling area and even a small pool available. Grocery store nearby. Only did 1 meal "out" @ the Java Jazz restaurant - mediocre for us - would not bother going back there. Wished we had gone to the Gazebo, just a little ways up the road instead. Highlight of the vacation was visiting Little Beach Sunday Night - only for the open minded tho - and doing a zip line @ Piiholo Ranch. Not cheap but very safe and fun! Biggest drawback was finding a place nearby to snorkel / park. Owners take excellent care of their home - we tried to do the same - enjoy! ”

While the resort is surrounded by other hotels and condos, it is quiet, and parking was readily available. The property is well-maintained, with a small pool and spa, and a well-equipped game room. There are excellent restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. The owners are responsive and provide all the information you need both before and during your stay. If you're going to Maui, I highly recommend Maui Kai 504 for your stay! ”

We decided on this trip to go back to the the Maui Kai due our very good memories of it. The location right on the beach is excellent. The pictures of unit 504 we viewed prior to booking it were exactly as we found it. The view from the balcony overlooking the ocean with views of the islands was fantastic. Nothing beats watching a terrific sunset with a nice bottle of wine enjoying a meal from the barbecue. We saw whales , sea turtles, kite boarders, surfers from the deck. It is possible to walk along the beach or on the boardwalk which starts near the Maui Kai all the way to Black Rock and the Whalers Village. The unit was very comfortable and well stocked with amenities including binoculars, boogie boards, beach mats and books. While we went exploring many other beaches, one of the best features of this location is the ability to go down to the lobby, out the door and be right on the beach and able to go snorkeling right away. The size of the unit is good for 3 adults but would be somehat crowded for more than this. ”

Also, we never closed our lanai sliding doors (the entire ocean facing wall was glass) because we loved hearing the ocean sounds our entire 9 day stay. Even booking it was super easy online. The place has a fantastic location right on the beach front, and I mean right on the beach front! Step out of the condo and you are on the beach. Two more steps and you are in the sea! The views are great. Every apartment must get the fantastis view we had. Completely uninterrupted views out to sea. The apartment we stayed in was spotless, and the same could be said of the rest of the place. It is kept in very good order with the BBQ cleaner than I can get my own. The apartment is big enough for two but a little cramped for a family of four, but you knew what we were doing before we booked. The sofa bed in the living room is not the world's most comfortable but what sofa bed is. The unit is so well stocked with the needs of the traveler. Every kitchen utensil is provided as is beach gear, coolers, snorkel sets, iPod dock, good cable package, the list goes on. The place is ideal if you want to get away for some peace and quiet. If you want big pools, resort entertainment, loud music and loud people then go elsewhere. If you want to relax and kick back with your own cooking on the lanai and watch the sea with some cold ones, then this is the place for you. ”

The Maui Kai really is the closest condo to the water in the Kaanapali Beach area and the staff, grounds, pool, and overall environment were all top notch. Stay at the Maui Kai

“ Quite a few years back we stayed at this resort, and i use that name loosely. The actual apartment was done very nicely; the view of the ocean is very good. There's no reception area per se; the overall building reminds me of a tenement in a poor neighborhood and the pool is across the parking lot surrounded by concrete blocks. There is NO beachfront as there is no beach in front...only ocean. A retaining wall protects the lobby from the ocean rushing in. The shower in the apartment overflowed to the apartment below and not by any fault of ours. My wife and I are very careful and clean when we stay in someone else's apartment. Wouldn't recommend this rental building at all. ”

“ Since 2004, we have completely redecorated and made several other upgrades such as an additional granite counter with new maple cabinets in the bathroom, new living room and dining room furnishings and balcony high table and swivel chairs on the lanai. A problem with the shower at the time was quickly remedied. Maui Kai is a smaller structure constructed of cement block which helps to eliminate noise compared to some of the large hotel-type buildings. As Maui Kai has the closest proximity to the ocean in West Maui, it is regularly maintained including re-spalling of the building, new paint and trim. The landscaping of the building has been upgraded with many Hawaiian flowers, plants, and waterfalls.
The pool and spa are part of a larger cabana area which includes an indoor kitchen, bathrooms, computer with printer, ping-pong table, and library. Outside is a large area for sunbathing and visiting, a covered picnic area, and gas barbecues. Perhaps his visit was during one of the rare storms that could bring in high surf and reduce the beach temporarily. However, North Ka'anapali Beach in front of Maui Kai actually stretches for three miles, all the way to Black Rock.
Maui Kai is not a hotel with one a grandiose entryway, but it does have a pleasant sitting area for resting and visiting now complete with orchids and newer furniture as well as free morning coffee and newspapers for purchase. Maui Kai is a location guests enjoy returning to year after year. ”

Extremely clean and modern unit, beautiful, immaculate grounds and swimming pool, a really nice small beach with great snorkeling (had a head on collision with a huge, but very friendly green turtle) made for a very relaxing and enjoyable two weeks with beautiful sunset views every day. Even though we were there over a national holiday, there was absolutely no traffic congestion and within 10 minutes of just about anything you could want to do. A great value. To ask for any more than what we got would have meant extreme greed on our part. Would recommend to couples wanting a really nice getaway. ”

The unit has everything you'd need in the kitchen, plus extras like games, books, 3 flat screen TVs, etc. People should be aware in advance that there are stairs to the entrance of the unit, plus stairs to the second bedroom and bathroom upstairs. It was nice that you provided high power binoculars for the whales but most of the time we could see them without help. The condo was excellent with new and comfortable furnishings and everything we could possibly need to cook and go to the beach or pool. It was perfect for the 4 of us. The condo is #213 at Polynesian Shores. Nice 2 bdrm, well equipped. It has 2 king beds (downstairs bed can convert to twin beds if preferred) and two full baths. The room has a lanai with an exceptional view looking to the west (the lanai pics on the aloha Condos website don't do it justice). The condo has a pool and a bbq area. The unit is only 200' off the water. Day 3 we started with breakfast at the condo. The condo was loaded with any cookware you could think of. On Day 4 we had cocktails while sitting on the deck. I was just sitting here minding my own business and then I saw whale spouts. There were about 5 or 6 of them heading north. They were about 500 ft off the shoreline. No breaches, still very cool. Day 5 We went down the beach about 200' north of the condo as were told there may be a turtle or two sunning on the beach. Sure enough... A big sea turtle was sprawled out on the beach. There another half dozen sea turtles playing in the surf about 20' off the shore. We went back down to beach to have a cocktail and watch the sunset. It was just as beautiful as the day before. Once again, a half dozen sea turtles were playing in the surf not more than 50 feet away. This condo location rocks!! Day 6 My birthday - What a beautiful morning. The sun came up and created an incredible rainbow, very cool. Very nice trip, wonderful condo and super friendly neighbors. Everything we needed including great restaurants, beaches, and shopping are close by. We would absolutely recommend this place to the best of our friends. Keith and amy Granite Falls Washington. ”

The no hassle process of booking, was a breeze. The photos on the website are accurate. The place was comfortable and clean. My kids took full advantage of the boogie boards and sand toys. We were able to BBQ by the beach at sunset. Everything we needed was provided. We used the ice chest for a 12 hr trip to Hana. A beautiful location, walking distance to grocery stores and shops. Short drive to Laua, fine dining, boat trips and adventure. Life is good!! This place was amazing because it let us experience Maui in our own way, without resort or hotel expences. Mahalo to Erin & Mario for the gift basket. We arrived about 11pm, hungry, so the gifts of food were very appreciated. If your looking for fancy smanchy, this isn't the place for you. If location, comfort, price, and sea turtles on the beach every day, is your wish, this is it. Don't forget the romantic sunsets...I miss falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The boys were up at dawn checking out whales tail slapping and breaching in the Molokai channel. Green Turtles were in abundance. One day there were five turtles feeding in the quite water immediately below us. The pool was clean and refreshing after a walk down the coast. Since this unit is above and on the end of the building, pool noise was never an issue and our views of the ocean and islands were maximized. We loved the sound of the surf and breaking waves. Since you are literally over the water, you will hear crashing waves. We had some high surf during our stay. Resident caretaker does a good job of maintaining the facility. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. The Japanese sliding screens offered cool accents. Our day trips included Haliaukla, Molokini snorkle trip, and drive up to North shore to see Dragons Teeth below Hyatt Regency, Kaanapali Beach Black Rock, and Honolua Bay to watch the surfers. Very cool. Nice local feel to complex that is in walking distance to local shops and businesses. ”

They were everywhere, it's like they were putting on a show for us! And the turtles would come up on the beach each day and stay for awhile. The sunsets were even more breath taking. We met some nice people during our stay, and enjoyed the conch shell blowing at sunset each night. The manager Mark was great and took very good care of us. I would highly recommend this place! As others have said, the kitchen is small, but we managed to get around just great. There have been some updates to the condo and it's very very nice. Again, as others have said the bathrooms need updated, but worked great for us. There is a grocery store close, farmers market, a place to rent snorkel gear. If you are a runner, its very convenient to run on the sidewalks. The pool was a nice bonus for relaxing during the day and in the evening! I would recommend this condo and the entire complex! ”

It was everything we dreamed of and more...seeing sea turtles, whales, sunsets, surfers, crabs and glorious rainbows all from our lanai had an other world feeling.Guess that is why they call it Paradise. There was even a wedding on our beach. We were close to Subway, and other take out and groceries and even the ever helpful aBC store so we always had whatever we needed. It was an easy drive to a great blowhole( though after a windy night there were some big rocks on the road). We enjoyed the boogie boards and pair of flippers, luxurious beach towels, and even used the coolers and ice packs provided. The dishes had fun island designs. Everything was very clean and had so much island character. Don't want to sound unrealistic but we really were able to relax and enjoy our stay here, and were all so sad to leave. All 6 of us had enough room to get a bit of space from each other too. It was actually a little hard to hear each other on the lanai with the crashing waves. Sleeping with that noise was soothing but did take a little getting used to- which we were thrilled to do. Mahalo for a wonderful time in Maui. We would want to rent this exact room again. ”

Seems like there was not enough comfortable space to relax after a long day in Maui with 6 people. Kitchen was very small, but got used to it after a few days, dish washer worked Fab!!! Freg took at least 12 hours to get cold after we put food in it, but once it was cold worked fine. Hate the fact that the freg had no door holders so you could not use the full use of the freg because they were broke or lost and never replaced. Also the dryer is a fire hazard!!! The lint trap would fall out of the dryer when using it because it was missing a prong and behind the lint trap was so full of lint and sand! Please look into this!!! Needs professional cleaning from a washer dryer company. I am betting a fire will take place in condo 403 if you do not look into this very serious issue! Maybe another fan for the up stairs smaller bedroom and someone to clean the windows inside and out of condo for better views in this great ocean side condo. Loved the pool and beach, this made the condo even better and being on the top floor rocked!!! Bbq was great, so many nice things about this condo, wish you would have had numbered and assigned parking. Two nights in a row, no parking space for us at all, had to park in the private space and put a note on our van that we had no space to park other than the private spot and worried all night long we would be towed! If you took care of some of the things listed in this info on our stay, your condo would be so much better! Really worried about that dryer, we had a house fire in our home, you don't ever want that in your condo and I am sure your neighbors don't either!!! ”

The view overlooking the beach was beautiful every morning and afternoon and provided an excellent view of the afternoon turtles munching on the seaweed on the beach in front of the condo. Used the 2 boogie boards and even left a third which we found on the beach. The snorkel and fins also were used. The location was outstanding. It's a short walk to a Farmers Market, coffee shop. A fish market & deli, supermarket, convenience store, several restaurants are only short drives away. About 10 - 15 minutes drive away are Whalers Village Mall and Lahaina Cannery Mall. On the down side: 1. The lower bathroom fan was not working 2. The floor under the sofabed needed vacuuming. But, all in all our family had a great time. I would recommend buying a small 3 cup rice cooker. It would appeal to asian families. ”

Also close to other beaches on the West side, this made it easy to check out several different beaches during our week long stay. When we weren't out taking in the beauty of the island we sat on the balcony and watched the turtles coming in and out to feed and looked for whale action. Having the boogie boards available to us was also nice, one less thing to rent, we made good use of them. The grills on site were really nice and worked great. I would highly recommend staying here, it is close to so many places and a great way to be able to enjoy Maui and the ocean every minute you are visiting. The only bad thing about staying here was having to leave! ”

The condo was strangely renovated, with a smallish living room and kitchen, but larger bedrooms. It still needed an upgrade for the kitchen. Also, the upstairs master BR has an open ceiling to the guest room, so if parents are planning for some privacy from the kids - forget it ! All-in-all I would recommend this place to someone who has not been to Hawaii before. It's close to lots of activities, especially in Lahaina, but is quite a drive from Road to Hana or Haleakala. I recommend going up to Napili beach for sunning and snorkeling, and DT Fleming for boogie boarding. both are within 10 minute drive. There is good snorkeling at Nohonani if you go straight out about 100 yards. Well tended grounds and lush plant life really added to the stay. ”

Near shore is a lava/coral reef which is good, but 200 yards out from shore is a spectacular reef with clear deep water. I recommend Nohonani 403 and would stay there again. ”

“ Nohonani Condo 403 was everything we wanted and much more. We stayed there from Sept. 26-Oct. 3rd and found it very quiet and very restful. We were a party of seven and when we walked in we were thrilled with the size and cleanliness of the condo. More thrilling was the ocean view and being right on the beach. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was simply heavenly. We usually ate breakfast on the lanai and every day, around noon or so we were so lucky to watch the wonderful sea turtles swimming. Due to the rocky area right as you enter the water from the beach swimming was not always the best but my husband, daughter and her friend did enjoy going snorkeling a few times. The swimming pool was wonderful and we usually had it to ourselves. The location of the Condo is fabulous. You can walk to several different places, such as the grocery store, coffee shop, small farmers market, even a yummy taco truck that was there most evenings. Boss Frog is right down the street and that is where we rented our snorkeling equipment. Everybody we met was very friendly and very helpful. We felt fortunate to be less than 5 minutes from Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village. Our all time favorite beach which was about 10 minutes away was Kapalua Bay Beach located in Napili. If you want to snorkel this is the place to go. If we ever get the chance to return to Maui we would stay at Nohonani condos and resort again. It truly felt like home away from home and it was very difficult to leave. ”

The regular and daily sea turtle observations from the balcony were fun. The 403 unit is a bit dated, could use a bit of soundproofing and cosmetic renos, but the views from this suite are exceptional and overall the suite is well equipped and stocked to accomodate 4 adults and 3 kids. Great location in terms of closeness to grocery stores, various restaurants (Maui Tacos, Famous Dave's) and the public beaches (if you have kids ask about Baby Beach, great find if you have kids). We had absolutely no issues with any type of tropical pests. We saved lots of $$ by cooking in the well equipped kitchen & snorkeling 3-4x a day at the condo's beach. Sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. Also saw turles and eagle rays very close to the beach and dolphins passing by past the reef. Warm constant breezes kept the condo cool. Laniuopoko beach is only a 15 minute drive for good surfing. Great neighbors, too! Can't wait to go back and be that relaxed again! ”

However, the pictures make it look like the owners have really updated this place. Not true! All they did was put in some new furniture and bedspreads. The kitchen is gross with cracked tiles and ants everywhere. We were travelling with 2 babies. It's a lovely feeling knowing that ants would probably be crawling all over their boxes of food and water cups. The dishes that we did attempt to use were dirty. Both bathrooms were so outdated and dinghy looking. I went to get in the shower and there was hair on the floor and wall. Gross! After our dinner, we came back to find bugs all over the main living area. My husband started taking pictures of the various bugs from flying ones to roach looking ones. These were different bugs than the ants that were all over the kitchen. To end the lovely day, I went to get in bed upstairs (in the sweltering heat - no aC and the fans totally did not cool things down) and the sheet was stained and there was hair in several places on the sheets. Disgusting! I do not recommend staying here at all unless if you like living in bug infested unsanitary conditions. We moved to the Kaanapali Shores and got a beautiful new looking condo for the rest of the week that was impeccably clean and the same price. ”

The gift basket was a thoughtful gesture including coffee and cookies. We were all a bit surprised, though, at the run-down condition of the upstairs and, particularly, the 3rd bedroom. No closet, peeling wallpaper and mold. The bathrooms were clean enough but all doors need replacing. We also had an ant infestation in the kitchen area. There wasn't anyone available to talk to on the property about this and we never met Bill, the property manager,even after inquiring at the rental office. Finally, we had to purchase our own papergoods because there was only one extra roll of T.P. and P.T. which wasn't enough for 6 adults for a week. All in all, we enjoyed the experience, with reservations.This could be an exceptional rental with some much needed upgrades. ”

Amazing View, Wonderful Place to Stay

The kitchen had everything you needed and we cooked a lot to keep the cost down. The beach was incredible, we swam and snorkeled and saw huge sea turtles. The only drawbacks were that there was no air conditioning and it was pretty hot expecially on the second floor. The fans helped but was not enough to keep it cool. Also, I think there are some mice in the unit as we had our bread and crossants on top of the frige and we took them down one morning to eat and there were little holes and bites out of them so we had to throw them away. We didn't see any droppings or the mice themselves but did see the evidence of them eating our food on top of the frige. Overall our stay was lovely and we could see staying there again. ”

The area is not over populated, unlike other areas of Maui. The beach on the property is small but absolutely great for snorkeling. You don't have to go more than 5 feet out to see a variety of fish. We enjoyed that the beach was a bit more private than others on the island. Seeing whales each night and hearing the conches blow at sun down was amazing. We stayed here for 5 days with a group of 6. We had an awesome time and would recommend it to others who are not looking for a party location, but rather to relax and enjoy the environment around them. Aloha and mahalo! ”

We saw (and swam with) sea turtles every day and even saw a couple of whales from a distance. The location is perfect, away from the crowds in Lahaina but close enough to visit daily if desired. We were very comfortable here and loved the sound of the surf. It is well furnished. A few cons: the smoke alarm goes off very easily (even making toast). Ceilings are low - must be careful not to stretch standing below the ceiling fans. A few lamps had burned out bulbs. The beautiful master bedroom would benefit by adding a mirror, which would free up the demand on the upstairs bathroom. The bathtubs are a little worn but that didn't bother us. We would definitely return. ”

The website pics are 100% accurate and there is nothing misleading. Loved the 2 stories, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and the washer/dryer. The view from the lanai and the sunsets were spectacular. There was a group at the next condo that would gather at sunset to all blow their conches-to say goodbye to sunset-that was really eerie but cool. Looking for turtles was fun. Watching Molokai at sunrise was breathtaking. Hearing the waves lapping 24/7 was soothing. No aC is not an issue-the tropical breezes and fans were better than aC. There's even a plumeria tree on the premises! I was so sad to leave and can't wait to return. Maui no ka oi and Nohonani 403 no ka oi...Mahalo nui loa to all concerned. Mark Twain got it right: "No alien land in all the world has any deep strong charm for me but that one, no other land could so longingly and so beseechingly haunt me, sleeping and waking, through half a lifetime, as that one has done Other things leave me, but it abides..." ”

It's not the most up-to-date place you could choose, but it has all of the amenities you need. Unit 403 was larger than the ones we usually rent. It had 3 bedrooms. The views are magnificent from all bedrooms. The unit has had some upgrading and needs some more, but we will stay here again. The bathrooms and kitchen need to be updated, but they work just fine. The owners provide beach towels, boogie boards, coolers and a lovely welcome basket on arrival. Nice touch. There is always plenty of parking. We had 2 cars and had no problem. There is an ABC store with gas and a farmer's market within walking distance. There are also grocery stores and restaurants a few blocks away if you didn't want to drive to Lahaina(6 miles away) for supplies. Groceries are expensive in west Maui and we found the Times market down the street was pretty competetive with Safeway in Lahaina. We love the whale watching, dolphins, turtles and snorkeling right from our condo. You can also walk down the beach quite a ways during low tide. Very nice walk. All in all...a great place to stay. ”

The owner had alreay made funishings upgrades that were very nice, beds were comfortable etc. The carpet guys were arriving as we left so you will enjoy new flooring in 2010! I'll add this comment for those who will find it an issue: 1) the loft bedrooms are not private, they adjoin via an open vaulted ceiling. So, if you are renting this unit with other couples or want privacy for a romp, forget it. However, if you need to listen for the little ones, or otherwise don't care, this is perfect! Mom stayed down stairs and that area is really like a separate suite. The shoji screens close but I don't think they're sound barriers. Again, the rompers may want other accomdations. 2) My elderly mother can't get in and out of a tub bath/shower combo and that's what you've got here. So, consider this not ADA functional. All that aside, this is one of the best units I've ever stayed in, anywhere, and we travel a lot! Have stayed in timeshares, luxury hotels and private condo's like this. Unless you require the Westin or the like, you'll be pleased with this sweet unit in a perfect location. ”

We also wanted a decent kitchen, a washer and dryer, 2 bathrooms, (20, 13 and 10 year olds are girls!) and an ocean view. Unit 403 was made for us! Perfect in every way possible! A day after we arrived, while watching sea turtles swimming and whales breaching in the ocean right outside our window, we were scheming up ways to come back again...SOON! (Oh, and if the owners are reading this...CONTACT US IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO SELL!!! We'd buy the condo in a split second!) The condo was spacious, and while it wasn't as clean as a high priced hotel with daily maid service might be, it was clean enough. It felt like home, very cozy and practical! The only negative thing we can think of, and it isn't very negative at all, was the lack of knives! The only regrets we have are not being able to stay FOREVER, and also that we didn't have time to write in the guestbook about what a wonderful stay we had. I highly recommend 403! ”

But it was clean and ready to go when we arrived. There was a very nice wrapped gift basket on the table and instructions for everything. We had 3 bedrooms, two full baths and even washer/dryer setup. All worked great. We really enjoyed the view out over the beach and the reefs. We enjoyed watching the turtles swimming around the bedach and reefs at night from our lanai. We could just go down 4 floors to the ground level and boom, on the beach and swimming with the fishes. :) It was in a good location that was close to shopping plus wonderful other beaches and parks. We really had a great time and highly recommend it to other families that want to be close to everything. (One great feature was that the condo was two stories inside the main door. Inside stairs to the main bedroom, 2nd bedroom and w/d. It kept the teenage girls noise downstairs at night. Peaceful and everyone happy). ”

The location was great, just a short drive to most stores, restaurants and walking distance to the farmers market. The condo was older and we were made aware of that fact, however it required some basic upgrades. WARNING !!! The carpet needs to be replaced desperately !!! Professional cleaning won't even save it. I felt uncomfortable walking around in bare feet. The kitchen smoke alarm went off every time I cooked anything including toast in the toaster. That was loud and annoying. The bathroom fan was very very dirty. The ceiling fan blades were filthy. Positives -- The view, and the sound of the waves crashing at night was extremely relaxing. Watching the sea turtles in front of the condo was awesome. Bottom line, if you can live with some dirt, dust and the thought of god knows what living in the carpet, ...then go for it, but I warn you .. don't spend your $$ until this 20 year old carpet is replaced!! I hope the owner will consider making that improvement at least. If not, then I have to be honest, I would recommend this home solely for the view and beachfront location, This place isn't for someone who is expecting luxury accommodations. ”

As soon as we walked in, we knew this would be a special week for us. Our lanai overlooked the small beach, and we were greeted with a wonderful and thoughtful gift basket containing a tote bag, chocolates, cookies, and assorted snacks. My wife was quite impressed by the near new, high quality towels. I think the most impressive parts of this place was the awesome view of Molokai and Lanai while relaxing with a book and some fresh fruit at our table on the lanai; and the chance to watch huge sea turtles most evenings from our lanai, as they would come within 10 feet of the sand. This time my wife and I came with our 21 & 18 year old daughters, but on our next visit to Maui and the Nohonani #403, we will come alone. Even though we won't need the other 2 bedrooms, it will be well worth it to us to stay at this truly memorable location. My wife and I are ready to go back there tomorrow (if only we could). My deepest thanks go out to everyone at Aloha Condos for making our week in Maui such a wonderful experience. ”

We were four adult friends traveling together and found the layout just perfect, especially the two bathrooms. The condo is so centrally located that it was just a short walk to several strip shopping centres where everything you needed was available. Even an ABC shop!!The condo had everything provide to enhance your stay, down to snorkle gear, binoculars to watch the turtles and music CDs to complete the mood. Most importantly, you were right on the beach with uninterrupted views from the balcony and bedrooms. We hardly used the dining room, instead opting for the balcony to take our meals and watch the turtles and sunsets. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. The owners are just great. Friendly and caring, attending to a few small problems we had quickly and professionally. So at no time were we inconvenienced. Even able to recommend to us the best places to visit, when we weren't on the beach or shopping that is. Local knowledge is the best recommendation. We are planning our next trip to Hawaii in 2010 and will definitely be returning to Nohonani 403. Thanks for a terrific and memorable holiday. A little piece of Hawaiian Heaven. ”

Interior is clean and has a ton of room, is well appointed with tables, couch, TV, CD player, DVD, etc. All bedrooms are on the ocean side of the unit. This is an end unit so there is a wonderful breaze on the lanai. View of neighboring islands is fantastic. Unit is dated, however, and needs some serious updating in the bathrooms, flooring, etc. Unit supplied plenty of towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler. I would highly recommend this unit! ”

“ My husband and I stayed here with his parents for an extended week in October 2008. The condo was spacious, clean, and in good condition. The beds were comfortable; towels and linens plentiful. The kitchen is on the small side, but, when you are on vacation, who is going to spend time in there anyway? The elevator was a bit slow, but it worked, thank goodness. The view from the lanai was beautiful. It was fun to sit there in the early evening and watch the turtles as they came close to shore. The beach in front of the condo is a bit short for strolling, but, there are plenty of beaches near by. We plan to stay here our next trip to Maui, which is soon, I hope! ”

“ We were married in Maui in 1988. We make it a plan to go back every 5 years and last year was special it was our 20th wedding anniversary. We found Aloha Condo?s on line after doing a lot of research and we were not disappointed at all!! The view from the lanai was great we enjoyed watching the turtles play in the waves and the whales swim by and those Maui sunsets can take your breath away! The location was ideal close to everything we needed. We met friends from Florida, and Chicago and shared the condo for a week, everyone had their own space the condo was perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend this condo. The condo was very clean everything in working order ? the owner was great to work with. For our next stay we will definitely be booking at Aloha Condo?s again ? it?s the best value for your money!! ”

Best location on the best beach in Maui!!!

It is the southwest corner room on the 2nd floor, so an easy 180 degree panorama of the sea & sand, right on the beachfront. We rec'd excellent service from Chuck, who always answered our emails promptly, Lisa the local agent who was there in 5 min. when our coffeepot went kaput, and Lee, the resident manager who helped me with change when I was in the laundry room. (They do have a bill changer but it didn't like my $s). The room was well stocked with enough towels for our 2 week stay, enough TP, & tissue. Also had 2 better than usual boogie boards (we have had other experiences), 2 beach chairs, small ice chest, laundry basket, drying rack which we used on the lanai every day, & more. Laundry room has used books and magazines and an ice machine right outside. We loved the closeness to the beach, 30 seconds, and that a key is required to come into the complex from the beach or to go out, so there aren't people wandering through. It is on the small side, but we weren't in our room much. It is not as updated as some of the rooms, but not as old as some of them, either. Huge mirror on the north wall reflects the sea and makes room look larger. Since we were entertaining two friends almost every night (!) who were staying nearby, we found it very cramped on the lanai, which is not deep. We did have trouble figuring out how to get the oven doing what it's supposed to do. And while everything was immaculate, the tub and surround must be the originals and could use a little facelift. However water pressure was awesome and hot as we wanted it! Minor suggestion. We loved the tree right in front of the complex which provided the best shade and had the nicest people under it! We call it the "Giving Tree" after the Shel Silverstein book! You can't go wrong with this unit 209! ”

“ This was our fourth visit to The Napili Bay Resort and the second stay in unit #209. The location can't be beat as you are directly on the beach with panoramic views of both Molokai and Lanai. Unit #209 is on the corner of the second floor directly facing the bay so the lanai is open on two sides which gives you what I think is the best view of all the condos in the complex. Aloha Condos manages #209, as well as several other units in the complex and I can't say enough about how great they are to work with. Chuck and his group are very professional, communicate quickly and definitely have the "aloha spirit". Both condos that we stayed in were well kept, had very comfortable beds and all the amenities that we could wish for ( free WiFi, dishwasher, cable tv, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc). The only item that is missing from # 209 is a fridge with ice and water in the door so it is more convenient to make that mai tai! On our first stay in this unit we were amazed at how loud the ocean was, so if you are a light sleeper perhaps you should bring ear plugs for the first few nights until you adjust to the crashing surf. After a short adjustment we now love the continually changing character of the ocean as well as the constant breeze that keeps the condo comfortable. I think that the Napili Bay Resort has the best location and is the best value in West Maui. Napili Bay itself is picture perfect, with a great sandy beach and a low key " Old Hawaii Feel". Thanks again to Chuck and his group for another memorable stay. ”

Wonderful stay at Napili Bay

“ We had a wonderful stay at Napili Bay Resort #209. This was our second stay at Napili Bay, and 209 is just a perfect unit in a great little affordable resort. The condo itself is well equipped with just about everything you would need for a comfortable week on the beach. (We only had one issue, as we think the oven isn't working properly, should be looked at or repaired.) This resort has no pool or hot tub, which doesn't bother us as we spend our time on the beach or in the ocean, but if you are looking for a full service resort, this isn't it. We had unbelievable views from a private lanai in this corner unit, and the proximity to the ocean on this beautiful, low key bay is fantastic. I have never stayed anywhere in Hawaii where I was so close to the water. The sound of the surf in the units facing the ocean is amazing. The water in Napili bay is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, as is the water in the very close Kapulua bay. There are great walking trails in Kapalua, and the General Store at Kapalua is a nice inexpensive place to have breakfast or a cup of coffe after an early morning walk in Kapalua. The Sea House Restaurant on Napili is also a good breakfast, lunch or sunset dinner spot with reasonable prices for Hawaii. We watched dozens of whales all week from our lanai. The grocery market in Napili is just minutes away, and a much better alternative for buying food and supplies than the very busy Safeway in very busy Lahaina. There is quite a bit of traffic on this side of the island, especially from Lahaina to Kapalua, but was not a big problem if you avoid driving at rush hour. We would recommend Napili Bay wholeheartedly! ”

It is on the corner of the building, thus the lanai has an oceanfront view to the north, and a spectacular sunset view to the west. We love to experience early mornings and sunsets and moonlit nights on the deck - after snorkeling in the bay for up to four hours every day. The amenities of the unit are superb and tasteful - though we hope the owner will upgrade the shower/bath someday. And perhaps a high definition TV with a DVR might be a nice touch... (though we don't go to Maui to watch television). We love it here, and we shall return. ”

They provided a very nice gift basket to welcome us with a pineapple, tote bag, chocolate macadamia nuts, fresh fruit, etc. The full kitchen is nicely equipped for pretty much any kind of dinner you want to make. The whole resort is kept clean and felt safe with shopping and restaurants close by. The only thing one should be aware of about this resort before booking is that they do not have a swimming pool, however the beach there is great. ”

We could see the whales spouting and breeching from the balcony! The Hawaiian theme of the condo was charming. We had everything we needed including beach chairs and boogy boards. The unit was just right for two of us, some may say small but it was a studio and we spent most of the time on the porch. The kitchen was well equip for cooking but not there was no place to eat (table to sit at), we ate evening meals out, so only cooked once but did do breakfast and lunch on the porch. We loved the proximity to the ocean, the second floor for a great view of the bay and the less populated area of Napili Bay. I would go back in a heatbeat if I were to return to Maui! ”

Make sure you go to the Seaside Restaurant, on the north side of the beach at Napili Kai resort, for happy hour 2-5. Great apps and drinks at a good price. The location is great because its away from all the touristy stuff in Lahaina and minutes from some of the best FREE snorkeling on Maui. The condo is perfect for making dinner with all the pots and pans, etc. The king size bed is comfortable and the condo is clean and styling. They also have a great bbq area for grilling your fresh fish and pineapple. The Napili market is around the corner for any extra needs. Once you visit here, you will not want to stay anywhere else. We will be back again next year. Scott and Nancy ”

Little Piece of Heaven

Best view in Maui, I can say that because we stayed in different locations on Maui before, and never had such an incredible view! The room is 20 seconds from the beach! The apartment was not overly updated but super clean, wonderful bed!!! Huge and comfortable! We slept like babies in it :). Everything was available. There is no air conditioner but it did not bother us too much. If it got warm we would open all the windows and enjoy the breeze and the view. We were 5 minutes away walking from famous Gazebo restaurant, where the locals love to eat too and on the right side walking distance to Seahouse! Incredible food too! Try macadamia, banana and pineapple panecakes in Gazebo! I liked everything. It would offcourse nice to have an air conditioner but again not a must! Incredible experience. A little piece of Paradise! ”

Perfect vacation!

“ My hubby and I are still glowing after a wonderful, relaxing (too short) vacation at Napili Bay Resort. We stayed in #209 and were very content with this corner unit. It was clean and well equipped, and tastefully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular view from the balcony...we even saw a few whales breaching off in the channel! It did get quite hot on the balcony from 2-4pm, but the beach is steps away, the ocean is lovely and we could always find a spot of shade under the big tree to sit and read and relax. The snorkeling on the reef in the bay is decent, and we saw green sea turtles swimming right in the bay. A really excellent snorkeling site is aprox. 10 kms up the road in Honolua Bay, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys snorkeling...we saw incredible corals, turtles, a Moray Eel, and countless beautiful tropical fish...most excellent! Fruits and veggies are pretty expensive on Maui, but there's a little farmers market/grocery store on the left side of the road heading towards Kanapali that had the best prices. Also we found some good fresh reasonably priced fish and meats in the Napili Marketplace store on Napilihau Street, which is a 2 min. drive away from the condo. They also have a good selection of wine, etc. The entrance to this store is a little hard to spot as it's located inside a small strip mall of sorts, and you probably won't see the entrance door unless you get out of your car and check out the store fronts...it's a little to the right of the middle. Anyways, we managed to put 500 miles on our rental car in a week...drove up to the volcano, and took the road to Hana...went to the souvenir market in Kihei, and just generally had a great time! Hope to be back here one day soon, and would highly reommend Napili Bay Resort...the location is fabulous. ”

Great Condo, Nice Location

“ My wife, 4 month old son, and one set of grandparents spent a great week at Napili Bay Resort. Condo 209 was actually just right for all of us. The accomodations were spacious enough. The sunset views were incredible right from the balcony. Picture whales in the distance lit by the setting sun! Really. The cove just outside was filled with turtles and provided some great snorkeling, even for my parents. Though it is a little bit difficult getting in and out of the water for those less fit. A Snorkel Bob's is a 10 minute walk for rental equipment. The proximity to Napili Beach made for a nice easy stroll. There is a local grocery, coffee shop and a Maui Tacos all close by. Lahaina is a 15 minute drive. We are cyclists and rode a round trip heading north from the condo all the way around to near the airport and clockwise to Lahaina. A beautiful ride with good climbs early on. The condo was kept clean, towels exchanged regularly. There were adequate cooking utensils as we prepared most of our meals at the condo. We called ahead and rented baby equipment from a local baby rental business. It was there when we arrived and was picked up after we left...very convenient. Maui is enchanting...Napili Bay Resort made it easy, condo 208 has a beautiful location. ”

There is a little surf noise being down on the end of the beach but after all that is why your stay in a beach front condo isn't it. “ My wife and I stayed at the Napili Bay condos and I am extremely happy with it. If you are undecided about staying at a condo vs a hotel....GO CONDO! You won't have to deal with gift shops, elevators and all that mess. If you are unsure about which beach, Napili Bay was wonderful for adults and kids, but wasn't overcrowded. About the condo itself: I stayed in a second floor unit facing the beach and at night the waves crashed hard on the rocks there on the edge of the bay and this resort appears to take the brunt of the decibels. I had to wear earplugs to sleep. But I would do it again, and stay in the same room again, and wear earplugs again, because the view and the location of the condo was awesome. ”

“ As described on the website, this condo is one of the most popular condos on-site. No doubt why - 2nd story, oceanfront, corner condo with privacy, beautiful views of the beach, Molokai across the way, the turtle activity, and lovely beach, great photo opportunities for the sunsets, not to mention the nearby Gazebo restaurant for lunch and dinner. Besides that, the grounds were immaculate and had all kinds of beautiful flora, and we loved the availability of the gas grills and laundry. We took advantage of grill to do some dinners in, which helped fray the meal expenses. Transportation for island activites, such as the Haleakala sunrise bike trip and the Hana Highway excursion were easily available to us with pick ups at the roadside. All services were nearby, as were additional lovely beaches and blowholes. We would recommend Aloha Condos to everyone and would love to return to condo 209 in the future. I can't say enough wonderful things about Napili Bay - it was truly paradise. ”

“ We absolutely loved our one-week stay at Napili Bay #209. Writing this review makes me want to book a flight back for tomorrow. The condo was clean and bright, and it was perfect for our needs for the week. We loved being able to step out onto the small balcony and enjoy the beautiful view. Chuck, the owner, was great to work with and was very helpful in answering some questions we had as first-time visitors to Hawaii. I would recommend this unit to anyone. The only thing to keep in mind, if anyone in your party is a light sleeper, is that you can't turn off the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. This condo is ON THE BEACH - and it can be loud (and, since it's a public beach, so can the people). Since the windows don't exactly "close," the sound can only be muffled - not completely shut out. It didn't bother me so much, but it did take my husband a couple of nights to get used to it. In NO way do I want to deter anyone from staying here, but if you like to sleep in silence, be prepared - you may want to invest in some earplugs! FYI - my husband was also very concerned that this unit does not have air conditioning, but it was truly not an issue at all. It's very breezy, and hopefully you'll be spending most of your time enjoying the beautiful Hawaii outdoors anyway! ”

“ We stayed about 6 nights on the corner unit facing the bay. It was simple but had all that we needed. We fell asleep to the crashing waves on the bay and were greeted once by a school of dolphins. We relax mostly and swam during the day. We snorkeled with turtles just a few feet around the corner. We would stay there again. The best part was we got to use the beach chairs to gaze at the abundance of stars each night. One night we saw a few shooting stars. ”

The arrangements proceeded very smoothly, and when we got there late at night - the directions, instructions and key provided, were very helpful. The condo is attractive and well equipped with everything we needed and more. It really is as good as it looks in photos. The location of the condo is ideal, with a perfect view, and steps away from putting your feet in the ocean. We did see whales, turtles and superb sunsets. “ We had a great time at the Alohacondos. It was very easy getting to the complex and Chuck made it a very easy check-in. There was NO hassle with anything. The beachfront condo has a great view of the sunset and has easy access to restaurants, snorkeling, and just lazing on the beach. We didn't feel the need to get up and go anywhere else. The sea breeze flows through the condo and keeps things cooled off at that time of year. The wireless internet access was a real bonus. ”

“ We love Napili Bay. We found the area through a travel agent and stayed at a local hotel. I recommended the location to a co-worker who found the Napili Bay condo units. We tried them next and are now true repeat fans. We know it, the sea turtles, the sunsets, the view of Molokai, the local coral reefs and even some residents so we feel like it's our little second home when we get to visit. It's not fancy hotel living. It's comfortable, relaxing and friendly for those who are looking to feel more at home and happy to hang out in a studio apartment than be waited on. The bay is beautiful and not too big. Therefore, you never feel crowded in. Condo 209 is perfect for us and the owner is wonderful. He makes certain everything is up to snuff and that you are welcome and appreciated. The grounds manager is always there to help too. The room is tropically decorated and puts you in the island mood quickly. The bed and amenities are very comfortable. There is a television and DVD/VCR if you're so inclined. There are boogie boards and beach chairs to use. We get our food when we arrive, cook in the evenings and have no pressure to leave the bay unless we want to. Breakfast on the lania watching the clouds drift by Molokai and the sea turtles feed on the coral just yards away is fantastic. The condo is on the west corner and you will be treated with incredible sunsets every night. The only thing to note is that the rooms do not have air conditioning - ceiling fans though - so it can get warm inside but who cares when you need only a swimsuit to enjoy Napili Bay. Give it a try if you want to wind down from a hustle bustle life and tune in to a relaxing and rejuvenating place. ”

Our rental car remained unused, as the beach was perfect - right down the stairs from our condo, restaurants nearby and a lovely little market and fish market we could purchase provisions. We ate almost all our meals out on the lanai, overlooking the beach and beautiful Napili Bay. The sunsets are gorgeous and the king bed was so comfortable. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and tanned, rested and recharged, we reluctantly made our way home, hoping to come back SOON to Unit 209. ”

Our accomadations in 2009 provided the best view, and BBQ area for preparing evening dinners that made our stay both economical, romantic and special. “ This was a great condo that I would highly recommend. The view was wonderful and it had more windows than most because it was a corner unit. It is a short walk to the beach which had some of the best snorkeling anywhere (if you like BIG turtles that is!). We snorkeled every day and saw anywhere from 5-30 turtles each time. It was amazing. The condo itself was very clean and nicely appointed. We found the price to be exceptional when compared to other condos and the views of this one can't be beat! Again, I would highly recommend this particular unit and would stay there again. ”
