A fantastic stay

We have stayed at Napili Bay Resort many times, this was the first time in unit #109. I was a little worried beforehand, given its location on the property I thought it may be subject to a lot of traffic to and from the beach, but this was not the case at all, we barely ever noticed or heard anyone. Everything in 109 was functional, clean and well stocked. The floor is tile which makes cleaning easy, bed was very comfortable, a little awkward given its position, it figured that out quick, not having night stands was remedied by placing a chair beside the bed at night. The lanai was very nice, well equipped, and beach chairs and umbrella was very handy. We made a lot of use of the lanai and beach, there is the sound of waves at night, no, they don’t stop, but we loved hearing the ocean, and missed it when we left. Everything at the resort is in great shape, we didn’t barbecue but made use of the laundry facilities. As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in #109, would happily return at any time, great memories. less

Ken, We are very happy that our little patch of paradise helped you create lasting memories. We hope you come again. A big Mahalo to you and yours.

Favorite Maui rental

Third time to Aloha condo 109. Love the location, beach chairs, towels and water toys available for use. The old time Hawaii feel is perfect. Kitchen was well stocked and use of bbq and ice was handy. Only problem was TV, instructions difficult to follow.

— JACK& Marianne, Stayed 02/02/2024

Owner/Manager Response

Jack & Marianne, we love having you as repeat guests. Thank you for the note about the TV instructions, sounds like an update is needed. We like to think of our corner unit as a vintage beach cottage. We hope you visit again!

Great location, and right on the beach!

My sister and I completely enjoyed our stay! Everything was as expected. We LOVED being right on the beach. And, I realized it was not a luxury resort, which made it even better! It felt homey and comfortable. Noting like sleeping to the sound of the waves on the beach. We had everything we needed. The only thing that was missing was a beach umbrealla. It got pretty hot on the beach in the afternoon and it would have been nice to have an umbrealla. It seemed like most other units had one. We love Napili Bay and will certainly come back! Mahalo! less

Simply Awesome

Condo 109 was the perfect place for a wonderdully restful vacation. The location was 5 star .If the beach is high up on your list of must haves, then Condo 109 is the place fornyou. Literally steps fromthe sand, surf and sunrises and sunsets. This unit is ideal for two people and has all the essential parts for a very comfortable stay.Comfortable bed, beach towels and bogey boards, a perfect getaway for those who love the beach, snorkeling and access to wonderful restaturants in the nearby area. Go for the Sunsets, best location to see them in Maui. less

Owner/Manager Response

Christopher, Thank you very much for your glowing review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. You said it best, "Go for the sunsets, best location to see them in Maui." We hope you can return!

Great Ocean Front

We have stayed at the Napili Bay 10 times over the last 15 years. It is a great quiet little complex. We have stayed Ocean Front a couple times and ocean view many times. First floor and second floor. A first floor Ocean Front like NB109 is the best. I would pay the extra for the view and convenient walk to the beach. NB109 is literally around the corner from the steps to the beach. NB109 is well appointed in the kitchen, yes even a coffee grinder, and has an updated bath. Bed and couch were comfortable as well. They have even built a platform on the lanai so the table and chairs sit up high enough to see over the rail. The beach chairs were not the ubiquitous Tommy Bahama brand but were comfortable, there was no umbrella at NB109, which is needed on this beach since the shade tree washed out years ago. We rented one at Boss Frogs for the week. Aloha Condos always does a great job for the business transaction end of things and we received our check in email with plenty of lead time for our visit. We love Napili Bay Resort and will clearly be back. Thanks Celia and Jan for making your unit available. less

Owner/Manager Response

Aloha Mark, Thank you so much for your heartwarming review. Relaxing on the lanai of Napili Bay #109 with the panoramic views of the ocean and the sunset sweeping across the sky is magical. We are happy we can share our special place. Mahalo!

Napili Bay Resort

This was our 3rd visit to the Aloha Condos, and we always stay at unit #109. We love being right on the beach with easy access to snorkeling. We also love sitting on the lanai with our binoculars watching the whales. The unit is small but plenty large enough for two people. If we return to Maui, we will request that unit again. less

Napili is the best!

Napili Bay is our favorite place and this complex is where we honeymooned some 36 years ago and we've finally made it back together for a magical anniversary celebration. Thank you Aloha Condos for your hospitality! The accommodations were great! Everything we could have wanted or needed were supplied right down to the most minute detail. We're planning to come back for Halloween this year so save us some space! less

Amazing View

Wonderful condo and wonderful view! 5 Stars!!!

— Wesley, Stayed 06/22/2022

The PERFECT location & stay!

Napili Bay alone is a dream location in Maui, but this condo made our stay even better! Corner unit directly beside the beach access made to and from our lounging on the beach a breeze. We watched whales breach all day from the lanai. And don’t let no AC fool you. The Tradewinds keep the unit cool day and night (at least in March). Would definitely book again! less

Beautiful location!

We had an amazing stay in Napili Bay. We loved being right on the beach! Condo 109 was simple and small, it had everything we needed! Our only complaint was that the shower didn’t drain and the lights above the couch didn’t work. Definitely will go back!! less

— Corrie, Stayed 10/31/2021

Owner/Manager Response

Corrie, We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in #109 and that you will come again. Repeat guests are fabulous! Please note that we have taken care of the shower drain and lights above the couch. We want you and future guests to focus on the beachfront location, panoramic ocean view and beautiful sunsets. Mahalo, -Celia (For Don & Jan Nicholas)

Napili Bay Resort

Napili Bay Resort Condo#109 was the absolute perfect location. The resort is small, what I would consider private, quiet & the beach wasn’t crowded at all during our stay July 9-16,2021. Our condo was very accommodating, know it offered everything you needed if you chose to cook, shower or go to the beach (beach chairs, umbrellas, kick boards, towels, cooler) though would highly recommend bringing snorkel gear for this reef protected beach with turtles & cameras for the sunrises & sunsets!!! Should you chose to leave the condo know Accessibility to the beach was literally 50 steps away, the little mini-mall for groceries, gas & 3 eateries which were really good was maybe 3 minutes away by car & Hwy 30 to Whalers Village (12mins) & Front Street/best shopping, variety of restaurants (20mins) are definitely worth visiting!! If I were to make any suggestions it would be offer a visitors suggestion journal for all the hidden places to see & a local events calendar for all the craft & farmers markets which were fun to explore & stay longer if you can!! Mahalo 🌸 less

The Best Simple Beach Bungalow

We loved the clear communication we had with the owners about reserving & checking in. The unit is a corner placement with a great view, right on the beach! The raised deck makes easier to enjoy the view (some other units don’t have a raised section, so the rail blocks the view when you’re seated). The parking is ample. It is great to be near the farmer’s market and the mall for restaurants and shopping; there are so many places to eat and drink within walking distance. Of course, the snorkeling & hiking are excellent and you can catch the Maui Bus if you want to explore further. In addition, this condo is stocked with thoughtful extra items to make it more comfortable: many fans, a laundry basket for the convenient coin-laundry, lots of towels, an illuminated makeup mirror, folding beach chairs and lots of other great outdoor gear. Unit 109 also has lots of storage, plenty of outlets (including USB ports), and an ok mattress. To top it all off, we received a gift basket when we arrived to welcome us! We’d love to stay in this condo again and would recommend it to anyone who loves to fall asleep to the sound of the crashing surf. But be aware: the surf is loud in the winter! Our one tip: if anything comes up, the maintenance folks on site are ready to help. Make sure you communicate clearly with them. less

Napili Bay Resort Unit 109 - 5 out of 5

The unit was much better than we expected, so we are pleased to rate Unit 109 at Napili Bay Resort a solid 5 out of 5. Located beachfront, on the corner beside the gate, was the best location on the entire property. I could hose off our chairs and noodles, then hand them to my wife over the handrail, so we didn't track any sand or water through the unit. Sitting on the deck and watching all the activity at both ends of Napili Bay was an unbelievable experience as well... there is a full unobstructed view of the entire bay from the deck. Darlene (our maintenance manager) was a great help, and came at a moments notice when needed. She was friendly, helpful, and fast. The unit has everything you need... we were not missing one thing in either the kitchen or the bathroom, and we were well stocked with towels too. Don't be alarmed when you see there is no oven, because the microwave is also an oven and can be set with a timer to the temperature you like. Some people complained about the bed being placed on a pedestal... we had no problem getting in and out of bed. Some complained about there not being any air conditioning... we just opened all of the slats at the front and back of the unit and slept with the fan on... we had no problem sleeping, and the crashing surf was very nice to fall asleep to. If they had air conditioning, the price for the unit would be much higher, as people would probably leave it on 24/7. Please remember to hose off the sand on your body and feet before entering the unit, and just leave your sandals outside the front door. Nobody will steal them, and the unit will stay nice and sand free for your comfort. We placed one of our beach towels on the floor at the entrance to catch any excess water on our feet... that worked well for us too. Thanks to Don and Jan Nicholas for sharing their beautiful unit with us. Denis and Mickie from Kelowna, B.C. Canada less

Stay at The Napili Bay Condos

Wonderful location and weather. The condo itself was a bit of a disappointment, however. The bed being on a platform was odd, and made getting in and out of the bed a minor challenge. The step on the balcony is a hazard, which in my case resulted in a fall the first morning - still healing but nothing too serious. . The system for obtaining a key upon arrival is OK - but we had a heck of a time closing the key holder back up after gaining entry. It would also be nice if instructions for operating the micro-wave/oven were made available. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it would have been better if some of the items mentioned above were addressed - and of course if the place was updated at some point. PS - Only one of the two room keys furnished would open the gates to the beach area. less

Feeling at home at Napili Bay

We love Napili Bay and have stayed in almost every property on the bay over a 25 year period. This was our second stay at this property and we love its proximity to the beach. For us this unit was great except for a couple of little things, lighting in bathroom inadequate and no laundry detergent, which should be provided by the resort. The bed could be a challenge to get in and out of for some people as it is up high and up against a wall. That said, we would definitely stay here again, so thank you for sharing your home with us! less

— Patrice, Stayed 02/04/2019

Love this Condo!

This is my second time in this condo and I would choose it again for four reasons. It’s on the ground floor so it’s closer to the beach and better for my knees. It’s a corner unit giving a wider view of the beach, ocean and Molokai. It’s somewhat less expensive probably because it hasn’t been updated as some of the others have. I love sleeping on the couch which is long enough for that with a great view up at the moon. That said they are all an incredible deal if you want to be right on the water with amazing views that include watching whales and dolphins (bring binoculars). It feels like you can be on the beach in a chair with no sand to remove. Some past reviews complained about the noise of the waves and they are LOUD! It’s one of the things I love, but if you don’t this isn’t for you. There are no windows, only wooden louvres, so the sound is not muffled. Going in December, I was concerned it might be cold, not a problem. The bed is on a high platform giving it a great view of the ocean, but hard for me to navigate with my joint issues. The couch is a perfect solution. I’ll be back! less

Great Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay in room 109, it is a nice corner unit with the water 20 ft. away. The bed was real comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Parking is never a problem and the grounds are will maintained. Thanks Ernie & Kim less

3 weeks of heaven

The first thing you have to remember is that its location, location, location. The waves on a stormy day nearly run up under the lanai. Words cant describe how loud the waves can be when the surf is running high. It's not a resort, which in my mind is a good thing. The room while very clean and well taken care of is dated. Couldn't help but notice with no air conditioning in the complex and doors open for ventilation that other units have been very nicely renovated. Not a deal breaker but given a choice. Totally enjoyed my stay and booked next year less

Napili Bay

Aloha Condos is just what you are looking for when you don’t want a Hotel! The space is great for just you aor if you are meeting several people. You can have your own space or gather ! We loved it! The Bay is so beautiful! It was our first time in Hawaii! I’m from Texas and use to AC. We survived without it! Our sinus cleared up! I would have liked a little ac, though! My absolute favorite place to stay in Maui

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this condo. It is in the perfect location in Maui and in the building itself. It's an end unit and it takes you 30 seconds to get from the condo to the beach. The condo itself is lovely and well-maintained. It has everything you need. I will only stay in this unit when I return. Thank you #109! less

Napili Bay #109

Beautiful ocean view! Clean and tidy condo. Bathroom lighting needs work as there is no light above the sink. Kitchen only has salt, pepper, and cinnamon so if you cook with spices/herbs, you might want to bring some along. No condiments in the fridge. When the unit above is occupied, the residents walking around up there is quite noticible. Beach chairs, umbrella, and beach towels are nice. Comfortable bed. Nice selection of tv channels. Appreciate the WiFi! All in all, a very enjoyable stay. less

Napili Best

Napili Bay is one of my favorite places to be and although this resort does not have all the bells and whistles, it’s perfect for us. Unit #109 is pretty basic, but it has everything you need. It’s clean, the bed is comfortable, and it sits right on the beach. less

Great location and beautiful view. Great having the beach chairs, umbrella and boogy boards. Recommend that you replace the couch and loveseat for a better experience.

— John, Stayed 02/15/2018

Saddened, but still the best view!

We have stayed in this condo a few times over the past 10 years as well as other units.. This year we were saddened to see this condo missing things.. The lighting in the bathroom HAS to be fixed. With no light over the sink area, the mirror old and losing reflective function, and only cheap lighting from a wall behind., our vision suffered. We were sad to not have the guest registry book as we loved to peruse through it to see where all the other couples had traveled from. And the always loved gift basket no longer . I guess other condos now allow more than two people and children? This was different as we always loved the calmness of the condo units. The view is still the best in the world. we thank God for its beauty. less

Sweet Napili!

My husband and I just returned from a week on Napili Bay which does not disappoint! It's a special spot. We've stayed at this resort several times and this is the second time we've stayed at #109. It is a little tired versus some of the more recently renovated units but it's not a big deal to us. The view is out of this world and you get much more of it by being on the corner unit (on, what we think, is the most beautiful place to stay on Maui). This trip we did notice loud footsteps coming from above and some people are up before 5 am in Hawaii... but other than that you can't beat this sweet location. It's super clean and comes with plenty of towels, etc. We wouldn't hesitate to book this condo again and we'll be back. less

— Corey, Stayed 07/06/2017

Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!

This is an extraordinary place. It's a bit funky, no windows, only wooden louvers, no high end furniture, clean when you come in, but no daily maid service. It was perfect for us. It's as close to the waves as you could get, with sand beach and snorkeling right outside. It's only room for two which was fine for us. I wanted to buy it and move in. We've stayed at the Sunset just down the beach, but for me this is much better. The Sunset is more expensive, but separated from the beach with a hedge and gate. It also faces much more directly into the setting sun (just a slight curve of the beach). We could see the sunset from our deck, but it wasn't blinding us in the living room. You have to be prepared for loud and I mean loud wave action, which I love and which masked my snoring. Also I was there with my son, so he got the bed and I camped on the couch. Others we looked at didn't have a long couch. I loved being on the bottom floor right above the beach, so I could be there without getting sunburned. Brought binoculars and did a lot of whale and dolphin watching. All in all I highly recommend this place if you like what I describe above. less

— Susan, Stayed 03/03/2017

Location wonderful, Unit disappointing

This is the second time we have stayed in the Napili Bay Resort - last time we were in unit 107. While the location is wonderful, the unit 109 itself was disappointing, and we will not be booking this condo again. I list the reasons as follows: - the bed is raised on a storage platform which makes it difficult to get on and off safely and especially difficult for the person sleeping next to the wall. I am sure the owner could store whatever is under the bed in some of the empty cupboards available. It would also help to have the bed positioned with access on either side. - the kitchen is poorly equipped. We had to go out and buy a bottle opener and a small paring knife and the cookware is cheap and nasty. i.e. the frypan is bowed in the middle and of poor quality making cooking a challenge. - for the price that is being charged for the unit, one would expect an upgraded interior and better kitchen equipment. less

— Shirley Prakke, Stayed 02/21/2017

Awesome location

The view of Napili Bay was outstanding from our lanai. We spent 6 nights in this unit. The reviews are correct when they state the noise from the ocean is tremendous. But it was worth being that close to the ocean - whale sighting from our lanai every day. The bed is tucked in a corner so there are no tables on either side and difficult to make the bed every day. The bathroom did not have a light over the sink/mirror area which made the room extremely dark. The water temp in the shower was extremely hard to keep a steady temperature. Would go from scalding hot to icy cold. I loved the area but would stay in one of the other units that have been updated. The cabinets, closets, refrigerator, sinks and shower are all in desperate need of a make-over. less

— Cindy, Stayed 02/06/2017

An amazing location!

We stayed for 5 wonderful nights in Condo 109, Napili Bay. The condo is small but clean and well-equipped. There are good cooking facilities and the bed is very comfortable. However, the most amazing thing is the view. The lanai is about 1 foot above the beach. There was no need to go to the beach because we were already there! less

— Donna, Stayed 01/31/2017

Easy and Nice

It was a pleasure to easily book and arrive at Napili Bay with no hang ups. The condo is perfectly equipped with everything one would need but without a lot of useless stuff. Clean and simple with a smashing view of the water! No checkin hassle the key is in a lock box and you just leave it the same when you go. Amazing selection of brochures in the laundry area with the BEST map of Maui with a close up of each major town with mile markers and attractions labeled! We have never booked a studio but the design is so good I wouldn't hesitate to book it again. Mahalo! less

Lovely stay!

I came here to spend a week with my sisters (both in other units at Napili Bay). I found 109 to be very clean, well appointed, and everything in working order. The location is wonderful if you prefer a ground floor unit. It stayed a very nice temperature with the cross breeze from the windows and door. I would stay at these condos again. Please note that the waves at this end ARE very loud at night - some people love that some people do not...The only reason that this is not five stars is that as compared to the other units I saw, this one was less upgraded. It would not keep me from renting it again however - most of the time is spent on the lovely beach just steps away! less

— Lisa, Stayed 11/26/2016

Beautiful condo with an amazing location!

We had a lovely stay at Napili Bay and found this condo to be extremely clean and bright. The location cannot be beat, with the beach literally steps away. The condo is well stocked with almost everything you need for the beach and the patio is ideal for meals and sea gazing. We have been to Hawaii several times and this was the first time, ever, we did not encounter any unpleasant bugs. This is truly a great find!! less

Spectacular views

Excellent experience! The condo is in a great location, with spectacular views. Meticulously clean. The kitchen had everything we needed for the stay and more. The bed is raised to allow for the view to be experienced fully even from there. The hosts provided a nice welcome basket that was greatly appreciated after the long trip. Also we did appreciate the beach chairs. We loved it and would love to stay there again. less

— Nikolov, Stayed 08/04/2016

Great location, good value

Pros: ocean front, maybe 35 feet to the water. Fantastic view from lanai. Convenient parking. Provided beach towels, boogie boards and beach chairs. Other comments: the surf at this end of the beach is loud. Ended up turning on a space fan to create some white noise to drown out the waves. No air conditioning, which was 99% not a problem. Sometimes it was a little warm at night. Overall, we would stay here again. We also stayed in Unit 106. Comparatively speaking, Unit 106 was a little more nicely appointed, felt a little more spacious (109 has a lot of cabinetry), was a little cooler being an inside unit. View was not as good as 109. Overall, pretty close to a toss-up between the two units. less

— robert, Stayed 03/13/2016

Repeat Customers

This is our second year of staying in Condo 109 so obviously we are happy with the accommodations! Little things make a difference like having more than one roll of paper towels and toilet paper so that you don't have to purchase those items yourself. Also, providing enough fresh towels for the kitchen and bath so that one doesn't need to launder a fresh load is also appreciated. Of course, the location doesn't get any better! less

— James, Stayed 03/04/2016

Uncomfortable

The view is amazing - right on the beach. But the unit is small, difficult to keep clean (sandy) and the bed is on a platform. Not comfortable.

— Elizabeth, Stayed 02/22/2016

Owner/Manager Response

We fail to understand why you chose to track beach sand into the unit instead of utilizing the beach showers.  Our cleaning crew spent a lot of additional time cleaning up your mess.  We've added you to our "do not rent" list.  Don & Jan

Total Beach Experience!

If you want a Total Beach Experience; crashing waves ( sounds of the ocean are intense), phenomenal view, this place is for you! Thirty yards from the beach!! Awesome! The welcoming gift basket was a very nice touch and was appreciated. The price was spot on but for the price they are asking for in Feb next year 2017 is crazy. So we won't be back. And this is why... The nit picks... No air conditioning! The water in the shower was either too hot or too cold. My guess is old pipes. After 7 days we still couldn't get it right. I never thought I would complain about the ocean being too loud. Couldn't sleep for 7 nights. Ear plugs didn't help. There are no windows only shutters. That's a first for us. Perhaps this is sounding trivial but how would you feel without 7 nights of sleep or without a normal shower experience. For $129.00 a night we "let it go" so to speak. Next year they will be charging $279.00! You be the judge. For $25.00 more a day we can get maid service , airconditioning, a pool and a view! less

— Donna Grover, Stayed 02/10/2016

Owner/Manager Response

Donna, our standard winter rate is $269/night; however we do offer discounted rates for remaining available dates within 60 days of arrival.  We're glad you were able to take advantage of that.  Our unit is some distance from the water heaters, so letting the hot water run a bit before showering is best.  Our local contact could have helped you with that had you chosen to call.  Also wondering why you had an expectation of AC in the unit, or anything other than what our website photos and descriptions depict.  If you're unfamiliar with the sound of waves crashing on the beach, probably better to book something away from the water next time.  Don & Jan

Great stay at Napili Bay

Lovely stay at 109. It's location right on the water is ideal. "30 seconds from blender to beach" (their motto) is totally accurate. The corner location in the complex makes you feel that you are in your own little beach house! Thanks, Don and Jan!

Beach Front Condo - Great View & Turtles Playing in the Ocean!!

Loved it! The Condo was clean, beautiful and comfortable. Really enjoyed having coffee and drinks on the deck looking out over the beach. The best-located unit in the complex. We will definitely be back!

Napili Bay Resort, Beautiful Ocean View

The Condo: The small studio condo is perfect for 1-2 guests. The condo was spot on - clean and tidy. The kitchen and the lanai were stocked well with gear and equipped with all to enjoy the condo and the beach to the fulliest. #109 is on the first floor directly off the beach, a few feet up the sand and protected by a large hedge, which provides extra security and privacy. Disadvantage is that one needs to walk around the flat to get to the beach. I am diving a lot and i've missed that there're no hooks on the lana'i or other options to hang up the diving gear such as wetsuit for drying. Parking is plentiful if you are lucky you get one of the spaces closest to your condo. #109 is on the first floor directly off the beach, a few feet elevated off the beach and protected by a large hedge, which provides some extra security and privacy. Location: The location and beach can't be beaten in summer. In summer, the bay is perfect for swimming, lounging, snorkeling, and SUP when the waves aren't too big. in winter, there's high shore most of the time; Especially between around Christmas and New Year, the sea teand to be very choppy and rough, with a strong brise blowing; Last but not least: There's a great welcome goody bag awaiting you at arrival, with coffee, nuts, cookies and delicious chocolate macadamias - inlcuing a lovely welcome note. You really feel welcome - Mahalo! Definitely, a condo to return again for vacation! Aloha! less

Great beach accomodations

We enjoyed the ground-floor beachfront location. The sound of the waves gave a secluded feeling considering this is a very popular (crowded, at times) beach. The condo was clean and well equipped with updated appliances and fixtures. The deck was very enjoyable for people watching and views. Our only disappointment was that the unit was not air-conditioned. less

5 Steps from Blender to Beach

A lovely ground floor studio condo in a two level building. Raised bed afforded amazing views of ocean, which is literally 20 feet from the lanai. A gorgeous welcome basket of Maui goodies on our arrival was well appreciated. Sound of the waves crashing on the beach took some getting used to at night, but soon became background ambiance. Well stocked kitchen ( including blender!). Five steps from front door to beach. This was an incredible find, and we will stay again! less

Ideally situated condo with amazing views.

Although we would have suggestions to the owners when they update the unit, we found our little vacation spot well equipped and ideally situated. This was our first visit to Napili Bay Resort - we always stay next door - and we were so impressed by the property. It was quiet and well maintained, with plenty of parking. The unit itself boasts loads of storage, and we loved learning to use the convection microwave, which baked anything from pizza to cookies with perfection. The only immediate suggestion we offer to the owners would be a simple welcome/instruction sheet tucked in with the gorgeous "Welcome" basket (where to find trash bins, what can be recycled, "quiet hours", theres an ice maker and lending library by the laundry area!) would have been appreciated. Also, for rainy days a few classic games - scrabble, cards - would be a thoughtful addition. Overall, we enjoyed a terrific value, had a wonderful vacation and would feel fortunate to have the opportunity to visit again. We recommend this unit wholeheartedly. less

Napili Bay Resort Condo 109 july 2013

amazing location, awesome snorkeling and swimming, great amenities in the condo. most relaxing vacation ever. the pics are right on, you walk down the stairs, around a corner and you on the beach! only negatives: there was no a/c which made it too hot to get a good night's rest, condo could use updating-interior is outdated, not enough toilet tissue provided. this is not really a downside, but just a heads up that because you are amazingly close to the beach and there are no real windows (screens with wood louvers) there is no real insulation from sound i.e. waves crashing at night literally sound like a tsunami is outside your lanai). less

Great location, well equipped, and clean

Ultimate Location!

We loved the Napili Bay Resort Condo 109. The location is amazing, right on the beach with an amazing view of the ocean. The Condo was very quiet and the sound of the sea at night was the perfect way to drop off to sleep. The Condo was very well equipped with everything that we required and it was lovely to receive a welcoming basket on arrival. The kitchen was well stocked so it was easy to self cater and the bed and couch were very comfortable. The beach outside the Condo is great for swimming (as well as snorkelling and swimming with Turtles!) and there are very good restaurants in walking and close driving distance. We would definitely stay at Condo 109 again, it was bliss! less

Convenient snorkelers' paradise with a view.

Cozy Unit 109 suited us perfectly with its easy access to Napili Bay. Although small, it's designed well to accomodate a leisurely vacation lifestyle. (The multiple clothes hooks were great!) It's well-equipped for cooking indoors and out, with a great BBQ area. We enjoyed the location and walking to several of our favorite restaurants and our friends' home by the general store. After staying at another resort in Napili for years and not being pleased the last 2 times, this year we decided to try somewhere different on the bay. We were so happy with The Napili Bay that we're already looking forward to staying there next year for our annual trip to Maui. Aloha! less

Relaxed

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The condos were close to the ocean, close to several very good resturants. everything including the wash house was clean and neat. I do not believe I had slept this well in years. The sound of the waves on shore was great. I was totally relaxed. I am disabled to some extent, grab bars in the bathrooms would be nice. I should not complain, this was the best vacation in years. less

The best "seat" in the "house"!

My husband and I couldn't have chosen a better place to experience Maui! We toured all over the island and saw amazingly beautiful sights, but our favorite spot, when we weren't on the beach itself, was right on our lanai balcony! Breathtaking sunsets, whales breaching and blowing all around us, mesmerizing views of the surf, the everchanging scenery of Molokai, and rainbows almost daily - this was all ours to enjoy at Napili Bsy Resort condo 109. It was perfect! Everything, from the basket of goodies from the owners, to the cozy, very clean, airy island-feel decor, made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We especially liked the beach equipment - beach chairs, umbrella, towels, body boards - we were all set! And the kitchen had everything we needed to fix whatever meals we wanted. We loved waking up in the morning to the sound of the surf and the view of the bay - right from our bed. The only negative were some tiny beach ants, but they didn't seem to bother with us. Chuck with aloha Condos gave us great service via his instructions and directions. A pleasure to deal with! Other people staying at the resort were friendly and easy to have as "neighbors." The Resort is nestled in Napili Bay, along with a few other low-rise condos, so there is a nice island feel. Also, the Resort is conveniently located near the Gazebo Restaurant - fabulous breakfast! - and near the Sea House Restaurtant - wonderful ambiance & delicious seafood! Both can be accessed by a short walk on the beach. Wonderful! Also, Napili Market and a few other restaurants are just a quick drive away. Very convenient! We hope to return to Napili Bay Resort Condo 109 again... soon! Absolutely perfect! less

Awesome First Time in Hawaii! Condo 109 was perfect!

We visited Maui in February 2012 for our first trip to Hawaii. We are already planning a return trip and would love to stay in Condo 109! We could see the ocean from almost anywhere in our condo. Weather was amazing in February! Accomodations were nice. We were with two other couples who stayed at the Napili Bay Resort also. Their condos were a little more 'modern', but we had the best view!! This was our first trip to Maui and this condo was absolutely perfect! Starting with the nice welcome basket this condo is perfect for a couple looking to be right next ot the ocean. The sound of the surf will lull you to sleep every night. The lanai is great to whale watch or just to relax. There are great restaurants nearby within walking distance. I have heard some people say that there are people walking be as the gate to the beach is next to 109 well the lanai is about 6 feet above the gate so I did not really notice it. Sound of Maui

This was my first visit to Hawaii, and I split time between Napili and South Maui. The Napili area is a great mix of low impact condos along the Bay. Condo 109 is exactly as pictured on the website, well maintained, clean and bright. What can't be captured in photos are the panoramic vistas that you will enjoy from the lanai, the contented feeling of being in paradise when you step out to the beach, and the sound of waves lulling you to sleep each night. I really can't believe that someone would travel to Hawaii and then complain about the sound of the ocean? The condo is complete with Cd's with Hawaiian music to help put you in the mood, as if you needed anything more than to step out onto the lanai for a breakfast of fresh fruit - or to walk along the beach to the Gazeebo restaurant for the banana pancakes and fried rice for breakfast. Yes, fried rice made with an assortment of meats, including bacon. The weather was wonderful when I was there (middle of May). The condo has everything you could need, including cooking utensils and beach gear. Mine was a short stay, so I didn't bother to cook. The beach and bay were used by snorkelers, paddle boarders, and people generally walking in the surf or lounging on the beach. It was quite laid back and relaxing. I would definitely return to the Napili Bay Resort, although the memories will last forever. The sunsets are mesmerizing, but the hypnotic sounds of the ocean are probably what will stick with me the longest. At this condo, you will hear those sounds all day (and night). Wonderful. less

Great location, nice little unit, perfect for a couple!

This is a small place but perfect for the two of us. The location right on the sand and on the corner was the best. It was a very quiet complex and Napili Bay is a perfect spot to enjoy Maui. The little market just a few minutes walk away was a nice surprise. The unit had everything we needed including chairs, towels, boogie boards and a sun umbrella. I would highly recommend it for a couple, but don't try to squeeze in your kids or grandkids. It would be a bit tight. Great value in my opinion! less

Excellent location. Nice amenities. Great all 'round.

We were really pleased with our time at Napili Bay Resort. It was easy to find, it couldn't be more close to the water, and from what we saw Napili Bay was by far one of the better beaches to be at. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is that the condo itself, while clean and tidy and complete with everything you need, was in need of a bit of updating. We probably wouldn't have noticed if friends hadn't rented another a few doors down which had been renovated more recently. less

100 ft. from the water!

We recently stayed in condo 109 and it was absolutely perfect for us! The beach was literally steps from our door. We went to sleep by the sounds of the ocean... Our visit was in March, so we saw many whales breach in the distance right from our balcony. Everyday we saw turtles. The unit was exactly what we expected, a little outdated in terms of decor, but kept up very nicely and all around a great space for two people. The kitchen was a definite bonus, which had everything we'd need to be comfortable. There were a few ants here and there, but being on an island, that goes hand in hand. The beach amenities were fantastic and were used often. We did not have items like shampoo in the unit, but it was not a big deal as the Napili Market was right around the corner. Location wise - very convenient and easy to venture around. There's a great General Store just around the bend (easy walking distance) that has great organic fruits and vegetables daily. The Gazebo is next door (to the condos) and has the best breakfast. There is nice variety of places to eat within a few minutes of the condo, Maui Brewing Co is about 5 mins away and has great beer/food and if looking for more of a variety to choose from - Lahaina is just a few minutes away. Overall, we had the best time! Chuck and his team were a pleasure to communicate with. We will highly recommend! less

Napili Bay = paradise

This was our 5th stay at Napili Bay Resort condo #109. The unit is exceptionally clean, comfortable and directly on the family-friendly beach. When we aren't on the beach, we "lanai surf" - sit on the lanai and watch the ocean, whales, turtles and palms. The unit is on the first level - only a few steps down to the beach through a locked gate entrance providing security for condo residents. The resort provides a separate laundry area and grills a few steps away. The landscaping and maintenance of the condos are immaculate, provided by a wonderful onsite caretaker. This is our escape to paradise. less

Beats the Ritz Carlton

Our second visit to #109 and the fourth to Napili Bay Resort! It's location is great: end unit on the first floor makes for easy beach access. Our daughter and her family were staying at the Ritz Carlton but when they came to visit and looked out the lanai, they were blown away: "You're right there!" as the waves lapped on the sand just feet away. Possibly the best place to stay on Maui

For value, location, and overall quality, we couldn't have asked for more. Watching the sunsets from the patio, being 10 feet from the surf, being on a very quiet crescent beach with a great restaurant (Sea House) at one end, that we could stroll to at night to enjoy dinner or mai tais, it was the best vacation in Hawaii we've had, hands down. We stayed one week in condo 109. We read all this reviews with "...saw the wales from the lanai..." and "...what a great beach with a wonderfull sunset.." and so on. What should we say - it's all true! We enjoyed our stay there so much that we didn`t want to leave. The condo was prepared very well, the "first aid kit" (present basket) was well selected and the wifi worked good. Everything we needed was there: Fridge, plates and cups, silverware, pans, towels, tv... ...really everything. The BBQ-place was nice, also there are washing machine and dryer. Much nicer than I expected. Can't beat the view. Looks a little run down on the outside, but is very nicely decorated on the inside. We loved the bed and being able to hear the ocean at night. Napili Bay Get-Away

Napili Bay Resort is superbly located along the beach at Napili Bay, just steps from the water's edge. We enjoyed watching small children play in the water close to shore, and big ones surfing further out. We watched huge turtles in the rocky part of the bay, and even saw whales go by. Terrible, we left after one night

We stayed for the first part of our visit on the second floor, in a room we loved, then moved to 109 due to booking availability. The biggest problem we had with the room was that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, very hard with springs digging into our backs. We contacted the property manager and condo association president. We let them know of the issue and asked what could be done to help the situation. We offered several solutions, such as an air mattress, changing rooms to a garden view (109 is an ocean view room)and asked to be able to contact the owners. When I was making the arrangements, I was under the impression I had been speaking with the condo owner, but when the problem arose, we discovered he was simply a property manager and very rude to us. Other issues were the screens are not the correct size so the edges gap and allows bugs into the room, the shower seems to be connected to the outside hose/shower/foot rinse area as the shower did not maintain proper temp, ranging from very hot to very cold within seconds, exposed wires, no batteries in the smoke detector, cabinets and drawers falling off hinges. Very poorly maintained room. Not a very private location either. We loved the other room we stayed in, room 207. When the issue was not resolved, we left the next day after moving in and stayed next door at the Napili Surf, which is a wonderful location with the best, most friedly staff we have ever met. less

Owner/Manager Response

We do acknowledge that the queen bed in the condo has a firm mattress and box spring. We personally tend to prefer a firm mattress; however our current plans include the purchase of a new king size bed with pillow top that will likely be preferred by a greater number of guests. Our most recent purchase was the new sectional sofa and I hope you found it to your liking. We do routinely upgrade the furnishings in the unit. The louvered windows on the beachfront are original to the building construction. The screens have been replaced and are held in place with small metal retainers. If a retaining clip was loose, the screen could have been pulled away from the frame and only needed to be clipped back in place. Our recent inspection of the windows did not reveal any improperly sized screens. The beachfront shower and the large ceramic tiled glass-enclosed corner shower unit in the condo have entirely separate water supplies. The very large capacity hot water supply line for the individual units has a return loop to the water heaters, so that hot water is always available within a very few seconds after turning on the valve. A faulty shower mixing valve could conceivably cause the problem you describe. The valve has been checked and found to be working properly. No exposed wiring was found, unless your reference is to some of the low voltage lighting in the upper part of the display cabinetry. A loose and improperly fastened drawer front on the bathroom vanity base has been fully repaired. A missing smoke alarm battery is inexcusable under any circumstances. A new battery has been installed and the alarm is now in working order. As Napili Bay owners we are very concerned about fire safety and we do not allow smoking or candles inside of our condo. The entire property is currently being retrofitted with an automatic fire sprinkler system that is above and beyond code requirement for this property. Corner unit 109 is directly on the beach with lovingly tended verdant flowering plants and coconut palms on the property. From the lanai you see the beautiful soft sandy bay, ocean waves and Molokai. Snorkeling the bay is excellent, often with sea turtle companions. In season, the whales are often seen breeching offshore. The unit is exceptionally clean, light, bright and airy with generous housekeeping supplies and large fluffy towels. The grounds include a detached laundry area and barbeque grills, all surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and flowers. At night, the moonlight on the ocean, the sound of the wind in the palms and the seabreeze closes a day in paradise. less

Ultimate relaxing getaway

May 2007 was my husband and my second stay at Napili Bay Resort. The first time we were in an upstairs condo. Rented this downstairs corner unit (#109) specifically because I was pregnant and didn't want to deal with stairs. Thinking flower bushes in the front of the deck might obscure the ocean view, I was pleasantly surprised with expansive, fantastic views from this first floor unit. And it was a great plus to be in a corner unit like this one for added privacy. My husband and I took it easy and had a great relaxing time enjoying the breeze, beach, sun and nearby restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner all within walking distance from the condo. I'd go there again except now that we have a baby, I'd have to look for a unit that will allow more than just 2. Or just the two of us might get away leaving our daughter with grandma for a week of perhaps our third honeymoon. less

Loved the location!

After spending 3 nights at a big hotel in Lahaina, we spent our last 4 nights here at the Napili Bay. There was no comparison. We loved the location! The ocean was literally 50' from our lanai. We enjoyed hearing the ocean waves every night as we dozed off and seeing the sunsets and rainbows off our lanai each day. The unit was adequate and we liked having a kitchen which had everything we needed for our occasional meals in. We used the boogie boards which were provided in the room. The only downside in paradise was no air conditioning. It would get warm but we utilized the ceiling fans and kept our windows open. Would definitely stay here again. less

No place better to do nothing

We really enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time on the beach without doing much at all. It was so easy to go to and from the beach right outside the room/balcony. Our stay was very relaxing and you can't beat this place for this very reasonable price. The only tip I would give is that you might consider getting the 2nd floor rooms instead of the first floor. We got some rather loud folks above us and the floors don't hide normal walking noises at all. But it drives you outside to the beach, which isn't bad at all. Recommended to stay here. less

"Neptunes Nest"

Well we wanted to rent a place that was close to the water. Boy, did we get a surprise! We wanted to be close to nature...I didn't realize we would be "in nature." It took some getting use to the first two nights as the waves came crashing down on the beach...I thought we would be washed away before morning! If you want an adventure...this is the place! You will never forget staying here. It certainly leaves an impression! less

Doesn't get any better

This place is truly beachfront. The sound of the waves is terrific to sleep to. Accomodations are clean and very comfortable. Do not under rate the convenience of having your own kitchen and the money that it will save. Our home away from home-truly

Perfect

We wrote the following in the owners guest log. "The best 10 days of our lives". Everything was totally positive, beautiful beach, great accommodations for 2, but not for those seeking a"party atmosphere".

Paradise

This unit is probably the closest to the ocean that you can stay in all of Maui. Outside your lanai is truly paradise. The waves crash over the rocks and the water is warm and inviting. You can snorkel right from the beach or just play in the waves. The condo is perfect for two people and there is a great coffee shop nearby. I don't think there was another place on the whole island that could have been better. less
