Fabulous ocean-front condo with your own sea-turtle on your back

“ This ground-floor two-bedroom condo was well-equipped and well-furnished, allowing the four of us -- myself, my wife, and two grown sons -- to enjoy a relaxing and stimulating week on the west shore of Maui. Green turtles were common in the colorful reefs just offshore, and one crawled up on the beach for a snooze during most of the nights we were there. If you don't cater to salt water, a swimmable fresh water pool offers an option on the other side of the patio. The 180-degree ocean view toward Molokai was decorated with frequently lovely sunsets and the occasional breaching humpback whale during our stay. Making dinner was easy in the fully-appointed kitchen, with a pair of available grills at the end of the patio for the steak or fresh fish available locally. Parking was never fully occupied, and one could get any necessary food items at an organic food store a short walk down the road. It made a great base for exploring Maui, but as the week went by, we ventured away from this comfortable haven less and less, and just relaxed in the natural beauty, breeze, and sunshine. It was painful to leave at the end of the week. ”

We could walk out our sliding door unto our patio, about 20 yards to a 1 foot sea wall, and there was the sand beach and a beautiful westerly view into the sunsets! The Unit has all the essentials although the second bedroom is a bit small with two twin beds. Neighbors were friendly and this unit is in easy walking distance of Shops and a farmers market a couple days a week. We will stay again if we ever come to Maui again. Hope we do! Bill Schertz. Fantastic place to stay

It was clean, and there were all sorts of nice perks like extra keys, which were on wrist bands, so it made it easy to keep track of them, beach toys, a cooler, plenty of towels, and more. It is right on a little beach, which you can go snorkeling around, and we saw at least one turtle (often more) every day in the water just a few feet from the shoreline. There was also two bbq grills on the complex, which we took full advantage of, and there is a farmer's market, awesome fish market, and larger grocery store all within walking distance. Plus the price of this place was much lower than those around it. It was a fantastic deal, and I would most definitely rent it again and recommend it to others. ”

“ If you want to be just steps from the sand and surf, this is the condo for you! You can hear the surf both from the living room and the bedroom. The bedroom has its own sliding glass door out onto the lanai. The strip of beach is small but it is big enough to lay out, make sand castles, and do a little beach combing. You can snorkel right at this location when the water is calm and clear. There are sea turtles that make their appearance on a regular basis. We rented gear from a local shop just down the street. Don't bother renting boogie boards, there are some available to use at the condo as well as some pool toys. I took my kids on this vacation so the resort it is great for both couples and families. My kids loved the pool. It is small but clean and well maintained. Note though, that this a one bedroom with a pull out sofa bed in the living room. The Nohonani Condos are just north of Kaanipali Beach, one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Maui. Lahaina is about a 10 minute drive south. The parking is free and there is Wifi. The sun sets right outside your door to the west. We saw some spectacular sunsets. The outdoor shower is just steps away from your lanai so there will be people using it often. There is no air conditioning, but you will not need it with the ocean breezes. It was nice to have a kitchen because we bought food and prepared at the condo (mostly sandwiches.) I would definitely rent this condo again. You will not believe the location to the water. That is why I rented it and I was not disappointed. Suzie - Portland, Oregon ”

“ We spent 11 nights. The location of the condo in the complex is great. It is 10 feet from the ocean. We spent a lot of time sitting on the lanai looking at the ocean, eating dinner, watching the sunset etc... The layout is great for two people. There are 3 Bbq's that were great to cook on. The pool is less than a year old and wonderful. The condo was easy to keep cool. There are several turtles that hang out in front of the condos that are easy to see. Snorkeling is good too. There are two beach chairs and an umbrella that were very handy when we went to other beaches. The onsite laundry facilities were across the hall. There are a few books in the condo. I left a few more. Very relaxing vacation!!! Note: If you want to watch TV this is not the condo for you... the wave noise is too loud to hear the TV... ”

“ The owners of this condo thought of everything. We had all the amenities of home. The condo was located right on a private beach, quiet and tranquil.Our accomodations here were the best that we have expereinced in all of our travels. We saw sea turtles on a regular basis and were only 5 feet away from them in the water, in the evening the turtles came to sleep on the beach. We were able to see them standing about 3 feet away it was amazing our daughter fell in love with them. The condo was within walking distance to many strip malls and farmers markets as well as other public beaches. Our family hopes to come back to maui some day and when we do we will be contacting Tip and angela. ”

We sat on the lanai and watched the rising sun turn Molokai and Lanai orange and pink each morning, then watched the sunset over the islands each evening. We swam at the beach, waded in the pool, walked to the store, and watched the turtles play. All of Maui was beautiful, but my favorite spot was our "home" at 205. ”

We were able to swim and snorkel with the sea turtles right out our lanai door. We highly recommend a stay in Condo 205. ”

“ Everything worked out as expected. The set up with the keys was very convenient. The condo was well appointed with everything that we needed including a nice welcome basket. The views from the lanai, living room and master bedroom were outstanding. We saw whales and swam with sea turtles (which also slept on the beach at night) and snorkelled seeing brightly coloured fish, all at the beach at the condo. It was also very nice to be able to walk along the beach to the farmers market, a gift shop, snorkel rental and little take out. It was our first trip to Maui and so we spent a certain amount of time exploring the island, but nothing is that far away. It was lovely to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. The condo complex seemed to have lots of families around so it was a very nice atmosphere. Staying at condo 305 was a lovely, relaxing experience. ”

Comfortable Condo with Sensational View

“ Aloha Condos was very easy to work with and responded very quickly to our request. The condo was nice...and very clean with the exception of the carpet which looked somewhat dirty and worn. Bathrooms were great with granite counter tops and all plumbing worked great, also had a handheld showerhead which was handy. It was great to have the 1/2 bath which was extremely nice with great lighting. Kitchen was very small but well layed out. However, it was very dark because counters were a dark faux wood formica and cupboards were also stained with a dark finish. Living room was large with a very comfortable sectional couch. Master Bedroom was on the smallish side but had a comfortable bed and great view. Could use new linens as small holes in sheets. No privacy because you could see right through the window shade(bamboo roll up)for the slider when the light was on and the sliding door faced north which was viewable from other condos. Other bedroom was pretty small also but had a goodsized closet. This condo would work well for small family or one couple..it would not be too convenient for two couples unless you are really good friends. Very convenient to have the washer/dryer in the condo. Location was really good...very close to Farmer's Market. Lots of turtles on the rocks right behind the condo. It was possible to go snorkeling with the turtles right there but not very deep so would work great for children. I saw no insects at all in the condo. The condo resort could be kept cleaner. Pool and deck appeared to be kept clean but walkways & stairs & elevator could be cleaner. There was a large dead waterbug on the walkway outside the condo doors on the ground floor for the 5 days that we were there. ”

You seemed to be somewhat surprised by the condo floor plan. I hope you took the time to look at all the pictures and video on our website. We exercise extreme care to be sure our advertising is honest and accurate. It does sound as if you didn't find the kitchen light switch which is on the small pony wall.

Again we're happy that you enjoyed our condo and sensational view being right on the water. We hope you'll stay with us again soon.

“ This was our second time at Nohonani 305 and it did not disappoint. The welcome basket is such a nice touch. That night a huge turtle crawled up onto the beach for the night. The next morning we saw more turtles in the water in front of the condo and then dolphins and whales out in the distance. We had thought of trying a different condo this trip but were glad we stayed with 305. It is quite a unique spot! The view from the lanai cannot be beat. ”

“ The condo was reccomended to us by a friend who had stayed there. I booked it online. Easy! Directions, attraction brochures and instructions were mailed out ahead of time and also an e-mail. When we opened the door, an increible view of the ocean greeted us! The livingroom is spacious, bright and comfortable for several people. We found a generous gift basket with tasty treats. The condo is supplied with all your needs. You truly feel like you are at home. Our favorite place was the lanai. This condo juts out further than the others and provides a nice view in both directions. The best thing is the turtles grazing right in front of the condo. Each night at sunset, one of the turtles came up on the beach to rest. There is a beautiful pool with incredible tile work and deck. The beach is small with lounges but wasn't over crowded. We hope to come again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation home. ”

The ocean is only about 30 feet away, so it will lull you to sleep every night. The front bedroom is a little less desirable, as a rooster loudly crowed every morning at 5am. The pool and the beach access are very convenient. There are a lot of large rocks in the ocean, so it's not the greatest swimming spot, but still good considering it's steps from the building. The check-in procedure and communication with aloha Condos was very smooth. The owners left a nice gift basket for our arrival. ”

“ We're so glad we booked at Nohonani Condo because the view alone is enough reason to just stay home and not do anything else on the Island. As soon as you walk in, you can see the beautiful Pacific Ocean across the living room. It's truly amazing to come home and wake up to this view! We had the master bedroom so sleeping to the ocean and waking up to it was really cool. We cooked breakfast and bbq'd twice and used the table on the balcony to enjoy our meals. The condo was beyond what we expected and we couldn't ask for anything more. The beds were comfortable and the sectional (sofa) appeared to be recently re-upholstered which was very obvious from looking at the original pictures. We were concerned about not having any aC unit however due to the close proximity to the ocean, we realized that it was not needed at all. The only time we felt warm in the condo is when we washed clothes and they dryer was on but it wasn't a big deal at all. The fact that we could wash our dirty-wet clothes before we left home was a nice addition too! The condo from what I seen seemed to have the best access to beach, as most of the other surrounding condo's had retaining walls and then the ocean. At least our condo had sand and chairs that you could lay out on as the pictures indicate. We saw a sea turtle the morning we were leaving which was really cool, people tend to snorkel in the water rather than swim due to the reefs however there are certain areas where you can lounge around in the water just fine. The condo was truly amazing and I wouldn't think twice about booking it again in the future! Thanks again for an awesome experience, this definitely won't be our last! ”

“ My family had an excellent stay at condo 305. This location is awesome. First off, we were greeted with a very nice welcome basket. We ate everything during our stay! The YouTube video on their website does an excellent job of showing you what you are getting. I love the fact that it was on the 3rd floor so you could get a by nice view of the ocean and surrounding islands. We visited during July so there were no whales, but the sea turtles were plentiful, feeding in early to late afternoon basically on your own beach. Although there is no airconditioning, we found that we did not need it. The cross breeze through the condo kept the place cool. As far as the location, it is just 5 minutes north of Kaanapali and only 10-15 minutes from Lahaina. My only suggestion is to follow Chucks (from aloha Condos) suggestion of buying food and supplies from the Kapahului area when arriving, assuming that is the airport you are flying into. They have a Walmart and Costco there. By the condo there are a few grocery stores but they are very expensive by mainland standards. When we were there, it was by quiet and secluded. Just a few families at the pool at one time. Although all beaches are public, you basically have a beach to yourself do to the surrounding properties having retaining walls. (Nohonani has a sand beach). Lastly, the communication from Chuck was great. I received reminder emails, with easy to follow instructions and directions. We will definitely stay at this property again!!! ”

Great condo community

“ Nahonani is a fantastic condo community. The pool, private beach and friendly people made the visit well worth while. Condo 305 has spectular sun set views as it faces directly west. I like to take pictures, so I made sure we were always back home by sun set. We participated in the conch shell custom every night as the sun set as well- got to know many other people during sun set. The condo itself is ok. The pluses include relatively comfortable master bed, remodeled bathrooms, and in-condo laudry. Just a couple things that put this condo into the "average" category for me: 1) kitchen is very small and very dark (and hot because no cross winds since it is tucked into a corner) 2) the sectional, while very comfortable, was very old and dirty. Don't set any electronics on the sectional as they will be filled with sand when you pick them up- but hey you are on the beach, so I guess some of that is to be expected. I should have put a clean sheet over the sectional and everything would have been just fine, as it is very comfortable. The on-site contact was fantastic and responsive. I had to call on a couple of very minor things and she came out and fixed them immediately- no issues what so ever. ”

We were at the condo in june and noticed that the sectional was showing wear (and causing it to appear dirty.) We arranged to have it reupholstered as soon as was possible and it was returned today. It's beautiful. We have the condo professionally cleaned after every guest and have never noticed or had a complaint of sand. We're happy you enjoyed your stay otherwise.

A perfect holiday!

“ This is a gorgeous condo with a spectacular view! Upon opening the front door, you see across the lovely living room right out on to the Pacific Ocean and Molokai. It's absolutely stunning. There was a great welcome basket filled with goodies, which was a delight after 12 hours on a plane. The condo itself is immaculate and comfortable. The kitchen was very useful and everything worked perfectly. The location is also great. Some days we went north to surfing beaches; other days we went to Lahaina to Baby Beach to hang with locals and nap under the trees on the beach. Every night we'd sit on the Nohonani Beach area and watch the sea turtles. It was the best vacation ever and we can't wait to return! ”

“ This place is absolutely a must. This condo is right next to the ocean, conveniently located to daily grocery and organic (Vegan as well) place. Very quiet, parking was not difficult. Pool was clean and overall, I highly rate it. We had a toddler, and three of us enjoyed staying at this place. We were able to watch those sea turtles all the time (in October). The balcony was just next to the ocean, the best place to have family lunch/dinner. If we ever come to Maui, this would be our place to stay. ”

Our kids shared the room with the 2 beds and my husband and I stayed in the ocean front room. The kitchen had everything we needed (except for a pitcher for lemonade but we made do with the blender pitcher) and everything worked well. It was wonderful falling asleep (and waking up) to the sound of the waves hitting the beach every day. We made great use out of the lanai and ate outside most days. Our girls loved swimming in the pool every afternoon and were the only ones swimming on most days. We used the bbq by the pool several times too and it was also very clean. The beach out front was great for building sandcastles and playing. The entire complex was quiet and well taken care of. The condo is located just minutes from some great beaches (arrive early - like before 9 if you want to find parking) and restaurants and the small local market is within walking distance. There is a Snorkel Bob's just up the road too if you want to rent snorkel gear (and a Subway for packing picnic lunches). Turtle watching from the deck was a thrill and we even saw a group of dolphins pass by one afternoon. We will definitely be back again!! ”

My family of 5 has stayed at unit #305 several times, and since we found it we won't stay anywhere else. The unit is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Linens and towels were all new or near new. The bathrooms have been remodeled. The kitchen is a little small, but more than adequate for a vacation. The owners have gone the extra mile to make you feel at home and provide extras (books, games, information on the area, etc.) I really enjoyed the wide screen TV in the living room and the new HD TV in the master bedroom. And, as many other reviewers already stated, the location could not be better. This condo has a corner balcony/lanai that makes the amazing sunsets and turtle viewing even better than other units at the Nohonani - and unit more private. The pool area has just been completely redone, with a beautiful tile mural of turtles. Lastly, the Nohonani has a sandy beach out front of the pool area. Most condos in the area lack a sandy beach. It was a real treat for us Big Islanders and we definitely look forward to a future jaunt to the Valley Isle and the "home-away-from-home" comfort of Nohonani Condo #305! ”

Sleeping to the sound of waves is incredible. The high quality ceiling fans and lots of cross-ventilation kept the unit cool. Extras like games for the kids, Maui guidebooks, and the welcome basket were an unexpected pleasant surprise. The area is very nice. Not congested like the nearby resort areas. ABC store is a couple blocks away and a Safeway is a 10 minute drive. We saw turtles right below us from the lanai every morning and whales every day. The owner provides binoculars which made whale watching much easier. Saw some incredible views of the full moon setting over the ocean, however the highlight during our stay was being greeted with a spectacular double rainbow over the ocean in front of Molokai on Christmas morning! The kids were very pleased to have the extensive TV selections and I LOVED having the high-speed internet connection so I could continue blogging about our wonderful trip. There was no air-conditioning, but when I go to the ocean I WANT to have the windows open in order to enjoy the sounds of the surf! Plus, with the wind from the east coming through the front windows of the condo and the ocean breezes coming in from the back, the ceiling fans in every room did an excellent job of providing circulation and dissipating the heat of the day when it was time to sleep at night. Chuck the rental agent, was great to work with, always responding quickly to questions and helping us make our time there so enjoyable. The owners, the Kelly's, provided a driving map and suggestions for supply shopping well in advance in addition to a welcome gift upon arrival. We are very pleased to highly recommend this condo! ”

If you plan on cooking much, it is not very equipped for that. Only the minimal necessities in the kitchen. Other things that would really upgrade the unit is a better master bed mattress and blinds to block the heat of the afternoon. The blinds on the lanai were not helpful in blocking the sun and heat from warming up the unit to an unbearable temp. ”

A nice gift basket of coffee, cookies, and sweets welcomed us to a classic Maui sunset, thanks Chuck!). The boys were up at dawn checking out whales tail slapping and breaching in the Molokai channel. Green Turtles were in abundance. One day there were five turtles feeding in the quite water immediately below us. The pool was clean and refreshing after a walk down the coast. Since this unit is above and on the end of the building, pool noise was never an issue and our views of the ocean and islands were maximized. We loved the sound of the surf and breaking waves. Since you are literally over the water, you will hear crashing waves. We had some high surf during our stay. Resident caretaker does a good job of maintaining the facility. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. The Japanese sliding screens offered cool accents. Our day trips included Haliaukla, Molokini snorkle trip, and drive up to North shore to see Dragons Teeth below Hyatt Regency, Kaanapali Beach Black Rock, and Honolua Bay to watch the surfers. Very cool. Nice local feel to complex that is in walking distance to local shops and businesses. ”

They were everywhere, it's like they were putting on a show for us! And the turtles would come up on the beach each day and stay for awhile. The sunsets were even more breath taking. We met some nice people during our stay, and enjoyed the conch shell blowing at sunset each night. The manager Mark was great and took very good care of us. I would highly recommend this place! As others have said, the kitchen is small, but we managed to get around just great. There have been some updates to the condo and it's very very nice. Again, as others have said the bathrooms need updated, but worked great for us. There is a grocery store close, farmers market, a place to rent snorkel gear. If you are a runner, its very convenient to run on the sidewalks. The pool was a nice bonus for relaxing during the day and in the evening! I would recommend this condo and the entire complex! ”

It was everything we dreamed of and more...seeing sea turtles, whales, sunsets, surfers, crabs and glorious rainbows all from our lanai had an other world feeling.Guess that is why they call it Paradise. There was even a wedding on our beach. We were close to Subway, and other take out and groceries and even the ever helpful aBC store so we always had whatever we needed. It was an easy drive to a great blowhole( though after a windy night there were some big rocks on the road). We enjoyed the boogie boards and pair of flippers, luxurious beach towels, and even used the coolers and ice packs provided. The dishes had fun island designs. Everything was very clean and had so much island character. Don't want to sound unrealistic but we really were able to relax and enjoy our stay here, and were all so sad to leave. All 6 of us had enough room to get a bit of space from each other too. It was actually a little hard to hear each other on the lanai with the crashing waves. Sleeping with that noise was soothing but did take a little getting used to- which we were thrilled to do. Mahalo for a wonderful time in Maui. We would want to rent this exact room again. ”

Needs professional cleaning from a washer dryer company. I am betting a fire will take place in condo 403 if you do not look into this very serious issue! Loved the pool and beach, this made the condo even better and being on the top floor rocked!!! Bbq was great, so many nice things about this condo, wish you would have had numbered and assigned parking. Two nights in a row, no parking space for us at all, had to park in the private space and put a note on our van that we had no space to park other than the private spot and worried all night long we would be towed! If you took care of some of the things listed in this info on our stay, your condo would be so much better! Really worried about that dryer, we had a house fire in our home, you don't ever want that in your condo and I am sure your neighbors don't either!!! ”

Used the 2 boogie boards and even left a third which we found on the beach. The snorkel and fins also were used. The location was outstanding. It's a short walk to a Farmers Market, coffee shop. A fish market & deli, supermarket, convenience store, several restaurants are only short drives away. About 10 - 15 minutes drive away are Whalers Village Mall and Lahaina Cannery Mall. On the down side: 1. The lower bathroom fan was not working 2. The floor under the sofabed needed vacuuming. But, all in all our family had a great time. I would recommend buying a small 3 cup rice cooker. It would appeal to asian families. ”

Also close to other beaches on the West side, this made it easy to check out several different beaches during our week long stay. When we weren't out taking in the beauty of the island we sat on the balcony and watched the turtles coming in and out to feed and looked for whale action. Having the boogie boards available to us was also nice, one less thing to rent, we made good use of them. The grills on site were really nice and worked great. All-in-all I would recommend this place to someone who has not been to Hawaii before. It's close to lots of activities, especially in Lahaina, but is quite a drive from Road to Hana or Haleakala. I recommend going up to Napili beach for sunning and snorkeling, and DT Fleming for boogie boarding. both are within 10 minute drive. There is good snorkeling at Nohonani if you go straight out about 100 yards. Well tended grounds and lush plant life really added to the stay. ”

Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was simply heavenly. We usually ate breakfast on the lanai and every day, around noon or so we were so lucky to watch the wonderful sea turtles swimming. Due to the rocky area right as you enter the water from the beach swimming was not always the best but my husband, daughter and her friend did enjoy going snorkeling a few times. The swimming pool was wonderful and we usually had it to ourselves. The location of the Condo is fabulous. You can walk to several different places, such as the grocery store, coffee shop, small farmers market, even a yummy taco truck that was there most evenings. Boss Frog is right down the street and that is where we rented our snorkeling equipment. Everybody we met was very friendly and very helpful. We felt fortunate to be less than 5 minutes from Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village. Our all time favorite beach which was about 10 minutes away was Kapalua Bay Beach located in Napili. If you want to snorkel this is the place to go. If we ever get the chance to return to Maui we would stay at Nohonani condos and resort again. It truly felt like home away from home and it was very difficult to leave. ”

After our dinner, we came back to find bugs all over the main living area. My husband started taking pictures of the various bugs from flying ones to roach looking ones. These were different bugs than the ants that were all over the kitchen. To end the lovely day, I went to get in bed upstairs (in the sweltering heat - no aC and the fans totally did not cool things down) and the sheet was stained and there was hair in several places on the sheets. Disgusting! I do not recommend staying here at all unless if you like living in bug infested unsanitary conditions. We moved to the Kaanapali Shores and got a beautiful new looking condo for the rest of the week that was impeccably clean and the same price. ”

The kitchen had everything you needed and we cooked a lot to keep the cost down. The beach was incredible, we swam and snorkeled and saw huge sea turtles. The only drawbacks were that there was no air conditioning and it was pretty hot expecially on the second floor. The fans helped but was not enough to keep it cool. Also, I think there are some mice in the unit as we had our bread and crossants on top of the frige and we took them down one morning to eat and there were little holes and bites out of them so we had to throw them away. We didn't see any droppings or the mice themselves but did see the evidence of them eating our food on top of the frige. Overall our stay was lovely and we could see staying there again. ”

Every morning right from the bedroom windows you can see turtles feeding just off shore. During the days great restaurants and markets are just a short walk down the street. The area is not over populated, unlike other areas of Maui. The beach on the property is small but absolutely great for snorkeling. You don't have to go more than 5 feet out to see a variety of fish. We enjoyed that the beach was a bit more private than others on the island. Seeing whales each night and hearing the conches blow at sun down was amazing. We stayed here for 5 days with a group of 6. We saw (and swam with) sea turtles every day and even saw a couple of whales from a distance. The location is perfect, away from the crowds in Lahaina but close enough to visit daily if desired. We were very comfortable here and loved the sound of the surf. It is well furnished. A few cons: the smoke alarm goes off very easily (even making toast). Ceilings are low - must be careful not to stretch standing below the ceiling fans. A few lamps had burned out bulbs. The beautiful master bedroom would benefit by adding a mirror, which would free up the demand on the upstairs bathroom. The bathtubs are a little worn but that didn't bother us. We would definitely return. ”

The website pics are 100% accurate and there is nothing misleading. Loved the 2 stories, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and the washer/dryer. The view from the lanai and the sunsets were spectacular. There was a group at the next condo that would gather at sunset to all blow their conches-to say goodbye to sunset-that was really eerie but cool. Looking for turtles was fun. Watching Molokai at sunrise was breathtaking. Hearing the waves lapping 24/7 was soothing. No aC is not an issue-the tropical breezes and fans were better than aC. There's even a plumeria tree on the premises! I was so sad to leave and can't wait to return. Maui no ka oi and Nohonani 403 no ka oi...Mahalo nui loa to all concerned. Mark Twain got it right: "No alien land in all the world has any deep strong charm for me but that one, no other land could so longingly and so beseechingly haunt me, sleeping and waking, through half a lifetime, as that one has done Other things leave me, but it abides..." ”

It's not the most up-to-date place you could choose, but it has all of the amenities you need. Unit 403 was larger than the ones we usually rent. It had 3 bedrooms. The views are magnificent from all bedrooms. The unit has had some upgrading and needs some more, but we will stay here again. The bathrooms and kitchen need to be updated, but they work just fine. The owners provide beach towels, boogie boards, coolers and a lovely welcome basket on arrival. Nice touch. There is always plenty of parking. We had 2 cars and had no problem. There is an ABC store with gas and a farmer's market within walking distance. There are also grocery stores and restaurants a few blocks away if you didn't want to drive to Lahaina(6 miles away) for supplies. Groceries are expensive in west Maui and we found the Times market down the street was pretty competetive with Safeway in Lahaina. We love the whale watching, dolphins, turtles and snorkeling right from our condo. You can also walk down the beach quite a ways during low tide. Very nice walk. All in all...a great place to stay. ”

It is one of the few condo complexes in the area that has it's own beach- which is a great! “ We visited with elderly Mom and two toddlers (yep, we're nuts!). Perfect setting for all. The on call support person was very responsive to our one need. The owner had alreay made funishings upgrades that were very nice, beds were comfortable etc. The carpet guys were arriving as we left so you will enjoy new flooring in 2010! I'll add this comment for those who will find it an issue: 1) the loft bedrooms are not private, they adjoin via an open vaulted ceiling. So, if you are renting this unit with other couples or want privacy for a romp, forget it. However, if you need to listen for the little ones, or otherwise don't care, this is perfect! Mom stayed down stairs and that area is really like a separate suite. The shoji screens close but I don't think they're sound barriers. Again, the rompers may want other accomdations. 2) My elderly mother can't get in and out of a tub bath/shower combo and that's what you've got here. So, consider this not ADA functional. All that aside, this is one of the best units I've ever stayed in, anywhere, and we travel a lot! Have stayed in timeshares, luxury hotels and private condo's like this. Unless you require the Westin or the like, you'll be pleased with this sweet unit in a perfect location. ”

Wonderful stay at Nohonani 403!

We also wanted a decent kitchen, a washer and dryer, 2 bathrooms, (20, 13 and 10 year olds are girls!) and an ocean view. Unit 403 was made for us! Perfect in every way possible! A day after we arrived, while watching sea turtles swimming and whales breaching in the ocean right outside our window, we were scheming up ways to come back again...SOON! (Oh, and if the owners are reading this...CONTACT US IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO SELL!!! We'd buy the condo in a split second!) The condo was spacious, and while it wasn't as clean as a high priced hotel with daily maid service might be, it was clean enough. It felt like home, very cozy and practical! The only negative thing we can think of, and it isn't very negative at all, was the lack of knives! The only regrets we have are not being able to stay FOREVER, and also that we didn't have time to write in the guestbook about what a wonderful stay we had. I highly recommend 403! ”

We snorkeled right off the condo beach and saw beautiful fish and coral. The kids had a wonderful time swimming in the pool. It was a great week on Maui! ”

“ This was our first visit to the condos at Nohonani and we had 7 people total covering 3 generations of my family. So to say the least, I was concerned how the condo would work with all of us. But it was clean and ready to go when we arrived. There was a very nice wrapped gift basket on the table and instructions for everything. We had 3 bedrooms, two full baths and even washer/dryer setup. All worked great. We really enjoyed the view out over the beach and the reefs. We enjoyed watching the turtles swimming around the bedach and reefs at night from our lanai. We could just go down 4 floors to the ground level and boom, on the beach and swimming with the fishes. :) It was in a good location that was close to shopping plus wonderful other beaches and parks. We really had a great time and highly recommend it to other families that want to be close to everything. (One great feature was that the condo was two stories inside the main door. Inside stairs to the main bedroom, 2nd bedroom and w/d. It kept the teenage girls noise downstairs at night. Peaceful and everyone happy). ”

“ Our experience with Chuck at Aloha Condo's was excellent. He answered all our questions promptly. The condo was nice, open and airy. There was a fantastic breeze blowing through most all day. The location was great, just a short drive to most stores, restaurants and walking distance to the farmers market. The condo was older and we were made aware of that fact, however it required some basic upgrades. WARNING !!! The carpet needs to be replaced desperately !!! Professional cleaning won't even save it. I felt uncomfortable walking around in bare feet. The kitchen smoke alarm went off every time I cooked anything including toast in the toaster. That was loud and annoying. The bathroom fan was very very dirty. The ceiling fan blades were filthy. Positives -- The view, and the sound of the waves crashing at night was extremely relaxing. Watching the sea turtles in front of the condo was awesome. Bottom line, if you can live with some dirt, dust and the thought of god knows what living in the carpet, ...then go for it, but I warn you .. don't spend your $$ until this 20 year old carpet is replaced!! I hope the owner will consider making that improvement at least. If not, then I have to be honest, I would recommend this home solely for the view and beachfront location, This place isn't for someone who is expecting luxury accommodations. ”

“ We had the best possible week in our Nohonani condo in Maui. Our unit (#403) was on the top floor and was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2-story condo. As soon as we walked in, we knew this would be a special week for us. Our lanai overlooked the small beach, and we were greeted with a wonderful and thoughtful gift basket containing a tote bag, chocolates, cookies, and assorted snacks. My wife was quite impressed by the near new, high quality towels. I think the most impressive parts of this place was the awesome view of Molokai and Lanai while relaxing with a book and some fresh fruit at our table on the lanai; and the chance to watch huge sea turtles most evenings from our lanai, as they would come within 10 feet of the sand. This time my wife and I came with our 21 & 18 year old daughters, but on our next visit to Maui and the Nohonani #403, we will come alone. Even though we won't need the other 2 bedrooms, it will be well worth it to us to stay at this truly memorable location. My wife and I are ready to go back there tomorrow (if only we could). My deepest thanks go out to everyone at Aloha Condos for making our week in Maui such a wonderful experience. ”

We were four adult friends traveling together and found the layout just perfect, especially the two bathrooms. The condo is so centrally located that it was just a short walk to several strip shopping centres where everything you needed was available. Even an ABC shop!!The condo had everything provide to enhance your stay, down to snorkle gear, binoculars to watch the turtles and music CDs to complete the mood. Most importantly, you were right on the beach with uninterrupted views from the balcony and bedrooms. We hardly used the dining room, instead opting for the balcony to take our meals and watch the turtles and sunsets. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. The owners are just great. Friendly and caring, attending to a few small problems we had quickly and professionally. So at no time were we inconvenienced. Even able to recommend to us the best places to visit, when we weren't on the beach or shopping that is. Local knowledge is the best recommendation. We are planning our next trip to Hawaii in 2010 and will definitely be returning to Nohonani 403. Thanks for a terrific and memorable holiday. A little piece of Hawaiian Heaven. ”

Interior is clean and has a ton of room, is well appointed with tables, couch, TV, CD player, DVD, etc. All bedrooms are on the ocean side of the unit. This is an end unit so there is a wonderful breaze on the lanai. View of neighboring islands is fantastic. Unit is dated, however, and needs some serious updating in the bathrooms, flooring, etc. Unit supplied plenty of towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler. I would highly recommend this unit! ”

The kitchen is on the small side, but, when you are on vacation, who is going to spend time in there anyway? The elevator was a bit slow, but it worked, thank goodness. The view from the lanai was beautiful. It was fun to sit there in the early evening and watch the turtles as they came close to shore.
