Unit 207 offers lots of amenities, it has everything you could possibly want during your vacation. It's clean and relatively spacious. The lanai offers absolutely spectacular views from sunrise to sunset. It's a quiet complex at night (other than the pounding surf), we rarely heard noise from other guests past 9:00 PM. The only two negative things we have to say about unit 207 is that it's time for a general updating, fresh paint, updating the shower/bathroom area - that kind of thing. The other minor criticism is that there needs to be a decent set of kitchen knives - the ones that are there just "don't cut it". We ended up doing a lot of our own cooking this year to save some money and decided to buy a few knives to use while there. In our opinion the area of Napili Bay is the best location on Maui. You don't have the crowds and bustle of Kihei or Lahania - but they're both close enough when you're ready for that! The north-west part of Maui offers the best snorkeling on the island, much of it in Napili Bay or the two neighbouring bays Honokeana or Kapalua - couldn't be closer. This year we gave up waiting for 30 - 45 minutes to get into the Gazebo restaurant (right next door in Honokeana Cove) for breakfast (holiday time is way too precious to be standing waiting to get into a restaurant). Instead we went to the other end of Napili Bay to the Sea House Restaurant which is part of the Napili Kai resort. We were surprised to find excellent value (breakfast for two $20), outstanding service, and delicious food. All of this with no wait to get in and an outstanding ocean front view. There are cheaper places to stay on Maui, but if you're looking in the Napili area for an ocean front condo, you'd be hard pressed to find better value. We've done lots of looking around at similar units and the Napili Bay still comes out ahead of many others. Mahalo! ”

We found the condo to be quite comfortable and well situated. It was very clean and adequately furnished. There were no foul or musty odors and we did not see any critters. We saw numerous whales, several turtles and a school of dolphins from our lanai. We hope to spend another two weeks at the condo next year and we have recommended it to others. We were lucky enough to get married on the beautiful isle of Maui on our 2nd day there... and then we enjoyed a week of fun, sun, and lots of R&R. This condo was worth every penny! It was perfectly equipped, cozy, and very comfortable. We didn't get much sleep the 1st night because the waves were so loud!!! But we quickly adjusted and loved every minute of it. Napili Bay a paradise

Not only was that a very lucky number for us, it proved to be a paradise of casual Hawaii with the beachfront location, complete with the rolling waves, gentle breezes, and fabulous view. From our first positive impression with a gift of Hawaiian fruit, candies and nuts, this was a perfect spot for several families to gather. The manager, Lee, was always very courteous and friendly and made us feel very welcome, especially with our nightly gatherings at the grill area for family meals and fun. The grounds were also well groomed and tidy. The private beach access found us loving the ocean waves and an uncrowded, uncluttered beach for sunning, strolling, and exploring. We will definitely return in the future, hoping to find the condo facility as clean and as well kept as before! It was a perfect getaway, with all the comforts of home, and then some! And there is easy access to a small shopping mall nearby. The only drawback was limited parking, but the place was full, which is a good indicator of a visitor's satisfaction to Napili Bay Resort, one away from the more tourist-driven ones. Our experience there enabled all of us to feel the Aloha spirit. ”

“ This was our third stay at Napili Bay (first time in this unit). We have always stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the beach (in 1999, 2001, and 2008). We love the view and sleeping to the sound of the ocean. The beach is a perfect, beautiful, calm crescent. The units are simple, but more than adequate for our needs. They may not be elegant, but are well-stocked with the basics one needs to live comfortably. There is no need for A/C, given the constant breeze off the ocean. In general it is a quiet, family-friendly area, but the locals enjoy this stretch of beach as well, and one night we were kept up until the early morning by some folks hanging out in front of the property (all beaches in Hawaii are public property - so this might be a problem wherever one stayed). This was the first time we knew about the gazebo restaraunt two properties down the beach. They have the best breakfast food I have ever eaten - and the long lines to prove it! Do not miss it!! ”

The condo is always clean & well supplied with all of the cooking necessities you would need. Grocery stores are within a 20 minute walk or a short drive. There is some great "fast-food" nearby & some first-class restaurants a short drive away. The beach is just a few steps from the condo & beach towels, beach chairs & various toys are supplied with the condo. We use the on-grounds BQQ several times a week to cook dinner. This is a wonderful convenience for us! I also like having a coin washer & dryer available for the guests as our stay is usually 2 weeks. It makes the packing much lighter! We would recommend a condo at Aloha Condos to any anyone! Enjoy!! ”

We were the only ones with an Ocean front room and the most incredible view as well as a welcome basket! With the full kitchen and outdoor bbq, we felt right at home. There's just something about sitting on the Lanai, with the breath taking view while having your BBQ steak dinner. Our room was very nice and included free wi-fi. We are planning another trip back and will rent the same room again,we loved it!! Renting at the Napali Bay was a pleasant experience. Thank You. ”

At night we could listen to the sound of the waves rolling up on the beach and enjoy a moonlit walk along the crescent shaped beach.The bay itself was excellent for snorkeling and swimming as well as for light scuba diving.The studio like room was nicely kept and quiet from the adjoining rooms.The kitchenette was also a plus for cooking as well as the outdoor BBQ and washer/dryer in the common area.I highly recommend this condo for those who don't need all of the five star luxuries of a large hotel. Our stay was part of our honeymoon...We loved Hawaii... ”

The beach is a leap away, snorkeling is good, turtles frequent the rocks / coral to the right, and there's even a great little restaurant/bar walking distance up the beach in a neighboring condo that made the whole bay a treasure. The condo had all amenities of home that we needed-- we cooked a lot and the kitchen was stacked with all the right things... cookware, spices, towels, and a dishwasher. #106 was extraordinarily clean, and felt cozy from the walk-in. The lanai was our favorite spot where we enjoyed our meals as we look over the beauty of the island. Huge thumbs up-- we're so going back. ”

“ You know you've stayed someplace special when, after more than a year, you still smile when you see a picture of it. In fact, Napili Bay was so wonderful, I have a picture of the view from the room as my screensaver. Napili Bay is in a quiet area, with easy access to the rest of Maui. The beach is imaculate and gently slopes to the ocean. There is a beautiful shade tree right outside your door and it doesn't get too crowded because it is in sort of a cove. We were there for our 25th anniversary and found it perfect for our needs. The unit was quite clean, the bed very comfortable, and the tiled bath was great. Everything was modern with a wonderful, fully equipped kitchen. I prepared several evening meals and breakfast every day, which helped maintain our leisurely pace. It was truly magical to fall asleep every night to the sound of crashing waves just 50 yards away. We were there in June and it was perfectly lovely, no air conditioning was necessary. The view from this room is spectacular and we saw several rainbows after early morning showers. It's just a short ride to some great snorkeling and all the other attractions and about 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Laihaina. My son plans to honeymoon in Maui next year and I will definitely recommend Napili Bay! ”

The location is heavenly and our rooms (we occupied 2 rooms while we were there, 207 and 208) were clean, had a full size refrigerator/freezer and reasonably stocked. (coolers, toaster, blender, boogie boards, beach towels and chairs basic spices.) The BBQ is very nice and new. (208 had BBQ equipment but 207 did not.) We loved the balmy breezes and did not mind not having air conditioning at all. The beautiful ocean sounds lulled us to sleep and we were absolutely stunned by the views. The owner of room 208 greeted us with a beautiful fruit basket with a gift beach bag. This was especially nice since we had forgotten to bring one! We met the owner of room 206, (paradisehawaiiancondos.com) and she was personable and even though we were not her customers, she would have gladly helped us if we had needed something. We asked to see her rental unit and if there was anything to say that is a little less glowing it would be that 207 and 208 have not had the bathrooms updated and therefore are not as nice as room 206. We will definitely go again to the Napili Beach Resort but because of the bathrooms we will probably will see if 206 is available first. If not, the others are great too! Oh, for those of you worried about bugs...it's the tropics! Clean up after you eat and keep your garbage in a bag in the freezer like we did. That is all it took for us to keep bugs away. ”

My first trip to Maui

“ The rental itself was fine - clean, great view of the ocean. Disappointment was in two areas that might not bother other people - just me personally. On my 3rd day renters moved in next door who were chain-smokers. The smoke constantly drifted into my condo and lanai and the man had a smoker's cough that was non-stop. I was not able to enjoy the Lanai due to the constant smell of smoke and closing windows/doors in Hawaii makes little sense - I fault myself for not checking beforehand whether it was a "smoke free" condo complex. Perhaps that has changed since I visited. I also was not prepared for the large crowds (and noise) that gathered from morning until late afternoon right beneath my Lanai - I prefer a more secluded atmosphere. Again, this is of no fault to the condo itself - just my personal preference. I wanted to enjoy reading on the Lanai and looking at the ocean but between the smoke and the noise/activity below lanai, this was disappointing to me. I want to reiterate that the condo itself was lovely and well-equipped - just not the "spot" I had hoped for. No fault of owner or condo itself. Thank you for this oppportunity and I would recommend the condo to anyone who doesn't have my personal issues. ”

The snorkeling at Napili Bay was much better than the paid excursion I took. I did have a little problem going to sleep with the ocean waves crashing all night. The windows are louvered with no glass, so the noise could not be stopped. A Tylenol PM took care of that. ”

The sunsets are killer every night. The beach is very local, not touristy like some other beaches. I love cooking in the unit and mingling with others at the private bbqs. There are no elevators or room service or stuffy front desks. It is all do it yourself and retro. The snorkling is awesome and you will always see turtles. I have been here at least 6 times and will continue to come. The Napili Bay is one of the best kept secrets on Maui. Mahalo for all the great memories! Scott and Nancy ”

The room had wireless internet which was a huge plus. It was a great way to post pictures of our trip as it unfolded to ensue jealousy from our friends and family(hehe). The boogie boards and beach chairs were a plus too! Wey cannot wait to go back to Maui and are looking forward to staying in the same exact room. It was absolutely perfect for our needs and our tastes. Hawaii is not about big hotels, crowded beaches and shopping...it is the most beautiful place on earth. Napili Bay and the Napili Bay Resort both allow you to enjoy the island in comfort and quiet without being too far from the tourist indulgences. ”

The sea breezes at night blowing through the condo will cool you enough for sleep in the amazingly comfortable bed. There is a TV that is hard to hear with the sound of the surf echoing in the condo, but who cares? All the entertainment you could want is waiting on the beach sunbathing, in the water snorkeling, or sitting on the lanai mesmerized by the view. We loved the convience of the kitchen, frig, and being right on the beach. It was amazing to watch the sunrise and set everyday and just to sit and people watch as well. The ocean waves were calming... We felt very safe there. There were two great places to eat within walking distance--the Gazeebo and the Sea House. Check in was so easy we didn't even need to track anyone down, the instructions given were simple. The studio condo size was just right for the two of us. The condo was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and going to the beach: chairs and boogie boards for the beach, and towels. There is also a grilling area on the premises. Entire condo looked newly remodeled, with nice taste in design. Bed was comfortable and it was very easy to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean waves. Though we were on the first floor privacy was not a problem, since the first floor lanais are raised at about 4 to 5 feet above ground. Views of the beautiful water about 50 ft away from us on the lanai were amazing. The beach was nice too, we saw alot of marine life while snorkeling throughout the day right in front of our condo. The location was nice also because of it being away from the high rises. Yet still a very short walk to a few restaurants and a short 15 minute drive to the town of Lahaina. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we can't wait to visit again! It was so relaxing. ”

There is no direct access to the beach from the balcony which made us feel very safe. Access on either end of the building was very convenient. I had been concerned that it would be hot or noisy with there only being screens & blinds on the windows, but that was not the case at all. It was great hearing the waves on the beach. There is a grocery store up the street and the kitchen was fully stocked for preparing food. Being right on the beach we ran back and forth for meals, snacks & drinks. It could not have been more convenient. There were boogie boards, beach chairs & towels. The condo was very cozy and had everything that we needed. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, low-key place to stay. ”

Not worth the risk-go elsewhere

When we found a huge cockroach nest in our kitchen cabinets and coffee pots; management was nowhere to found. Call the phone # on the office door- too bad, wrong person- call someone else- the number is in the book someplace-get their voicemail-no response ever. But when its time to leave and your scramling to go but 15 minutes late, now they (Andrea?? owner of an adjacent condo)shows up to push you out the door, verbally chastising us along the way as if we were squatting. She even blamed us for not calling the "right" Managers # when dealing with the cockroaches. This treatment to "guests" paying a lot of money, coming during a major recession where the place was half empty, is mindboggling. Your vacation is too valuable to risk staying here. If something goes wrong (and it will at some point), your completly on your own and you may even get yelled at. There are plenty of other nice affordable places in Napili to stay. We didn't even initially mind a run-in with cockroaches-this is the tropics, but we would expect someone will help get rid of a huge nest or at least return our call. Despite the great beach, we won't ever stay at this place again. They don't deserve your business, stay someplace they will treat you with some respect. ”

It was certainly not deluxe accommodations, but I dont know of any other place where you can have a condo on the beach for under $100 per night! I think you could not have more than 2 people in these units, they are small. Also, in case you don't know, there is no air conditioning in these units. We really only slept there and did not mind the fans and the ocean breeze, but I think this could be a problem for some people who are more sensitive to the heat. The view of the ocean from this condo is indirect, but not bad, and I actually enjoyed not being on the bay front where it is more noisy and people can look into the window... We return to Napili every year and would not stay any other place in Maui. We love the quiet and would recommend it to anyone who loves a quieter more family-friendly beach vacation. But please don't tell anyone, we want to keep the crowds and high prices in Kaanapali! ”

We saved lots of money and still got to stay on the best beach in West Maui. We would stay here again! ”

We ate breakfast every day on the lanai, staring out at the gorgeous view. Then we'd go out snorkeling somewhere nearby and come back for lunch, then go back out to the beach or sightseeing. Home again to shower and change, and then we'd head out for a swanky dinner in Lahina or Kaanapali (short drive). The only drawback of this spot (if there is one) is that the complex doesn't have a pool. But it is within walking distance of a little grocery market to stock your fridge with breakfast and lunch foods. Also just down the beach is a pretty swanky resort with great food and drinks. Great spot and great money saver. After staying at one of the big hotels in Kaanapali and here, we'd definitely choose to stay here again. ”

In general it has a wonderful welcoming and homey feel with (mostly) very friendly people of all sorts staying at the condo complexes. The bed was very comfy. There were a few big cockroaches who would visit for snacks under the couch. Despite lots of fans, we had trouble keeping cool and there is no no way to fully close the windows against the crashing waves and roaring ocean. This disrupted/prevented sleeping. We also had a hard time finding space on the beach and were often bothered by loud people who tended to yell and smoke cigarettes. Blech. Oh well, I guess I need my own private paradise! (haha haha) If you are a gregarious, hard of hearing person who likes to be in a crowd, you will have fun at this condo. We stayed in Wailea during subsequent visits. ”

Perfect spot for our 'non-resort' honeymoon

We found this spot online after searching for something that would be chill and not 'resort-y', was inexpensive, was on the beach, and had high speed internet. We loved this place. The beach was just outside the condo. There was a great coffee shop just down the road (Java Jazz & Soup Nutz). Many of the guests before us had written in the guest book -- both about how much they enjoyed their stay and about the sea turtles you could find swimming in a small cove nearby. We also found the turtles (and even managed to get a few surprisingly decent pictures with a disposable underwater camera!). The high speed internet worked perfectly and was very useful in planning our mini-trips around the island. We had a fantastic time staying in this condo and will look into it when we return to Maui. I highly recommend it. ”

Unit 216 is just off of the beach, which ensured quiet and privacy. The ocean is just a few steps away and Napili Bay is a great beach, more low-key than the more "touristy" areas. There are some incredible inlets for snorkling just a few miles down the highway. The website and photos are perfectly representative of the unit and complex. It is an excellent value for the price. If you're looking for a vacation spot that isn't a loud/busy tourist area, with incredible beach access and clean/comfortable units - this is it! ”

The other unit is identical but cheaper, with better furnishings and a lot more aloha (fruit basket, tropical flowers and coffee provided). Unit 216 was well appointed, but did not include a basket of fruit, although previous online reviews stated that one was provided (and that it contained the best pineapple the writers had ever eaten). If the owner/rental company would like to have a fruit basket sent to my home now, I would appreciate it, and revise my review accordingly. Also, there was no dining table and there were no chairs at all inside the unit. Other than that, everything we needed was there. It was clean and pleasant. It could use a music system to play CDs. The only audio was a little clock radio with scratchy sound. The kitchen was well equipped. We bring our own snorkel gear, but more was available in the unit, as well as boogie boards, beach mats and picnic gear. We had a great time on Maui, as we always do.
