What can I say about the most beautiful place provided by the mo
I was most pleased with the accomodations, everything was as it was presented, and more. The welcoming gift basket was not only a nice surprise, but an added statement about this owners desire to provide his guests a true Magical Maui visit. The condo itself is well appointed, the island location and beach access excellent, and it attracts the kinds of people, locally and visitors alike, you would call 'friend.'

Wonderful vacation spot
My husband and I enjoyed our visit to Maui and #102 Napili Bay immensely and plan to return to the same place next year. The condo was very clean, comfortable, quiet and the sound of the ocean as you fell asleep was the perfect therapy for anyone vacationing to ease work stress. We had coffee each morning on the lovely lanai as we listened to the surf and watched people enjoying their morning walk on the beach. There was a wonderful gift basket waiting for us as we arrived too! A perfect touch and a superb holiday.

Location! Location!! Location!!!
Aloha. We absolutely loved our stay at the Napili Bay Resort. Our Unit 106 was exceptionally clean and very well appointed. Stock up at Costco right by the airport - the big fridge and freezer will hold all the food and beverages you need for the week! The complex has two gas grills, this makes barbecueing very easy. The beach is one of the best on the coast, with great swimming and snorkeling. Listening to the ocean waves each evening is awesome too! While relaxing on the Lanai we saw brilliant rainbows stretching from Maui to Molokai, gorgeous sunsets, whales breaching off shore, and giant sea turtles bobbing in the waves. We highly recommend this condo as the perfect place to stay in paradise. Mahalo.

Wonderful Napili Bay
We highly recommend the Napili Bay Resort! From the moment we made our reservation to the end of our trip, the owners and management staff anticipated and addressed every need and question that could have arisen. The owners give very complete instructions about accessing the condo, where things are inside, and what the specific amenities are. They are very friendly, helpful, responsible and attentive. The condo itself was equipped with everything we needed, from basic toiletries, to kitchen appliances, and even folding chairs, an umbrella and boogie boards for the beach! The condo is very comfortable for two people. It was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is stocked with cooking equipment (including coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc.) Even without air conditioning it was quite comfortable. It was possible to get a breeze running through the condo quite easily by opening the blinds. The lanai had a great view (Unit 212). The amenities that were included made planning our day trips and excursions a lot easier and simpler: a landline telephone, wireless Internet and cable TV. There are also laundry facilities on site and a common-use barbecue. The beach is truly a gem. Sea turtles poke their heads up to see you, and all kinds of fish are around for great snorkeling. Napili Bay Resorts really has the best location on this beach. The location was also fantastic. Within walking distance there are 3 general/grocery stores, a coffee shop, snorkel equipment rental, excellent restaurants, hiking trails, and several other lovely beaches. It's out of the way from the crowds and scarce parking of Lahaina, yet only about a 15-minute drive away.

Best condo--steps from the surf
Pros: Best condo on beautiful Napili cove--nice understated tropical decor with wooden louvered shutters to let in the trade winds. Owners provided a deluxe basket of fruit and chocolate when we arrived. Very well-equipped kitchen with everything provided to bbq on the gas grill and dine on the lanai with a spectacular view of Molakai. Condo is economical on space, yet there was plenty of storage, a king bed with luxury linens, and an L-shaped sofa big enough for both of us to stretch out with our books in the evening, Perfect for anyone who wants to be steps away from the beach--you'll hear the surf in your dreams which we loved. I went swimming twice a day and it was so convenient to practically step out of the ocean and into the condo. Cons: None unless you are super noise sensitive. Walls are thick, but you will hear your neighbors on the lanai and the surf at night. Suggestions: Can't think of anything to make this condo better. Maybe a tea pot to go with the tea kettle? Really, evrerything was lovely.

Living space was a little smaller than I expected, but was not a problem. The beach in front of the condo was really nice!

The Bad- Room is cleaned at the beginning of your stay only, No a/C, Size is appx 400 SF, The Ugly- Condo owner lives in Kauai and accused of being too messy, which is not true. We had to call and email several times to get the matter worked out and get our full security deposit credited back. We did get our full deposit back a little over two weeks from the last day of our stay.
Manager response:
Aloha Honeymooners:
I've been managing my 5 vacation rentals in Hawaii since 1998 and have been very fortunate to had less than a handful of guests like these.
As part of my process of charging guests for reservations, I run a security deposit authorization before their arrival and only convert that authorization to a charge if there are problems.
In this case here are the problems and how the guests could have avoided them:
1. Early Check-In
The standard check-in time is 3PM and these guests checked in at 11:30AM - 4.5 hours early - thereby causing problems for our cleaners. Guests can choose to pay for an early check-in of 9AM at booking and avoid causing problems.
2. Late Check-Out
The standard check-out time is 11AM and these guests checked out at 12PM - 1 hour late. This caused our cleaners to get a late start and truly scramble to get ready for the next guest party that checked in at 3PM. Guests can choose to pay for a late check-out of 6PM at the time of booking and avoid causing problems.
3 State of Condo on Departure
These guests left the condo in a disaster state when they left. All of the dishes had been used and none were washed. There was sand everywhere and no trash had been taken out. We don't require our guests to do their dishes but hope that they provide some consideration for the cleaners - start a load in the dishwasher, take their shoes off before entering the condo, take out their trash frequently. Leaving trash in the condo will only bring in pests and there is a dumpster very close to the condo to dispose of trash quickly and easily.
4 Consideration of Others
After I spoke with these guests about the problems that were found in the condo they denied them all. They did accept the facts that they checked in early and checked out late but didn't seem to understand the negative impact on others of their actions.
After 4 long (and sometimes terse) phone conversations with them, I felt it was best to refund them the $50 that I has charged and show them consideration above and beyond what many - especially my cleaners! - felt was justified.
It was their honeymoon after all and I guess if you're going to have a time in life when you should get extra consideration, this would be one of them. Hopefully they will have a long, compassionate and considerate relationship with each other through the years.
With Aloha,
Jim Dornfeld, Owner, Napili Bay Resort, Condos 201 & 217

Our condo. at Napili Bay Resort was clean, the towels were new and clean, we had a beautiful basket full of snacks and fresh fruit as a welcome gift which was a very nice touch. The only thing that I think people should know before they stay at Napili Bay is that there is very little privacy. Since there is no air conditioning windows are open in everyones unit, you can hear your neighbors sneezing, eating, using the shower etc. You can also hear any conversation. If you like to be quiet and want to sit on your porch and not say anything to your travel mate that you do not want to share will your neighbors then you are fine. There is a common area with grills and washers and dryers which is well maintained but the amenities have very obviously been around and not updated sine the early 80's. Overall very shabby chic.
Manager response:
Aloha and Thank you for your review.
The Napili Bay Resort is a wood structure and all of the condos are studios with the same size. There are two buildings that together form an L shape. The beachfront building (condos 101-109 & 201-209) sits directly on the beach (lower portion of the L) and the beach view building (condos 110-118 & 210-218) sit perpendicular to the beach and ocean. I own condos 201 and 217.
When staying in the beachfront condos the sound of the ocean drowns out most of the sounds between the condos and the people on the beach - it depends up on how strong the waves are. With the beach view condos, the ocean sounds are not as prominent as other sounds - like your neighbors, the song birds and the wind through the trees.
Fortunately for guests who stay in condo 217, each of the condos adjacent to it - 216 and 218 - have occupancy restrictions so that no more than 2 persons can be in those condos just like with 217.
In my experience staying in condo 217 - probably a total of 1 year of time in the 10 years I've owned it - I've once or twice asked my neighbors to keep to keep their voices down. Every time they have been respectful of keeping it peaceful for everyone in the resort and I didn't need to ask them again.
This is very typical of the type of persons that stay here - they come for the low density and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the other areas in Maui. Over the years, I've found our guests at The Napili Bay Resort to be very considerate and respectful of others and maybe that is another one of the reasons that guests keep coming back year after year.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Condo 217 was is a great condo to stay in. Newly updated, this condo was quite comfortable and very reasonable priced. The garden view (with partial ocean) was worth the savings, rather than being in a direct ocean view condo. This unit had no AC but wasn't needed. The TV was nice to have at night because Napili Bay is in a quiet location. Thing to note when concidering Napili Bay: 1. Vehical rental is a must. 2. Driving time is substantial to other parts of the island. 3. The beach is beautifull but may not be suitable for small childern, due to the surf conditions. 4. Napili Bay is not in the dry area of the island(it could rain briefly). 5. Leave your kids at home for this unit! 2per-max. 6. An absolute stunning beach. 7. Beach is semi quiet. 8. Good for boogie boarding. 9. Resturants on either sides of the beach(the Gazebo is tops for breakfast, but be early or wait). Access from "The Shores" or beach. 10. Groceries are a 10min walk away.

My wife & I enjoyed the semi-isolation of Napili Bay. This bay is beautiful! The place was quaint, had a view of the ocean from the lania, a very comfortable bed and was well equipped with modern appliances, an HD TV & PVR. I must point out though, someone prior to our visit fumigated the place using a common over the counter spray like Raid. It was a rude awakening to discover as soon as we entered the condo. It absolutely reeked! To tell you the truth, my wife must have been really tired as I was surprised she didn't refuse to stay the night. We both had sore throats and numbed tongues the next morning. The smell lingered for the next few days. For this reason, I am reluctant to ever book this condo again as I found this an unacceptable practice.

Contrary to what you might think, being 50 yards from the beach is preferred to being right on the beach. Great privacy from your lanai without losing the whole beach affect. You can eat your meals in your boxers if you so desire! The room has everything, including a view, home ammenities, a great bed, a great lounging couch, a nice HD LCD tv on the wall. I wouldn't change a thing. (Especially the price. It is a bargain!)

We stayed in unit 217 over the new year and it was a fabulous experience. Initially, I was a little worried that the resort and beach would be noisy and crowded, as we were traveling at a very busy time of year, but it wasn't. The beach was busy, but never crowded and the resort itself was quiet and relaxing. Our unit was so clean and had everything that we needed. We really appreciated the beach chairs, the boogie boards, the beach towels and the little cooler. The bed was very comfortable and had a good selection of pillows to choose from. It was never too hot in the unit, even though there is no A/C. It would have been nice to have a little battery operated light for the outside table, as we ate outside each night. We loved that we could walk to so many places. Just steps to the beach, the breakfast place, the restaurant for drinks at sunset. Even the grocery store, bank and post office were only a 15 minute walk away. This was our first Hawaiian holiday and we are totally hooked and want to come back next year.

First of all let me thank you for the wonderful studio you provided for our stay in Maui. I was very impressed by your attention to detail for providing all the small things like water filter, aluminum sheet for oven, beach towels and the special gift for us. My wife has a very sensitive stomach and as such avoids eating outside. Your well equipped kitchen provided us with most of the things we needed for our light cooking during our stay. Kudos for a good job. I would also like to suggest some more other additions that may be worthwhile for some of your future customers: 1. Providing (for a fee) a "kitchen basket" for those who are staying 2-4 days. This kitchen basket may have some vegetables like onion, cucumbers, tomato; small cooking oil bottle, butter, yogurt, milk, eggs etc. Basically, I felt if you are going to stay for a week or so, you would do these groceries yourself, if you are going to live for a night or two probably you won't bother with this. However, if you are somewhere in between, an option to avoid the grocery trip with some of the bare essentials for a fee is something that some of the folks will be interested in. 2. Providing a "share your leftovers location". We did some groceries but were unable to finish all what we bought in our short stay. We are an eco-sensitive couple and do not like throwing/wasting food items. There were some groceries that we wanted to buy but did not because even the smallest packaged item was more than what we needed for our trip (e.g. cooking oil, red pepper, eggs). We would have bought some of these had we known a place where we could just leave our left over knowing that someone in need can pick it up from there. I understand you may be concerned about some legal implication because of food hazard of expired items, but I believe you can start off this with non-perishable items with appropriate waivers. Something simple like a refrigerator in an open area or a container near the barbeque area should serve the pu

My boyfriend and I stayed at 217 Napili Bay and we really enjoyed the suite, It really felt like a home from home. The owners left a gift basket of local fruit and snacks which was such a lovely thought and well appreciated after a 5 hour flight. The suite is beautifully decorated in modern style, very clean and everything you could need was there from a flat screen tv and wifi to simple but useful things like plastic food containers and a cooler box for picnics, and even dishwasher powder. Also the washer/dryer area and the bbq nearby was very handy. The only thing we felt would have been useful was a small battery operated lamp or something similar as we tended to eat dinner on the lanai at night so a little more light would have been really handy. Being so close to the beach was perfect and we definitely miss the routine of grabbing drinks, snacks and beach chairs to go watch the sunset. We'd like to thank the owners for a lovely, perfect stay and would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed in unit 217 for 4 nights in late September/ early October, 2009. The condo appeared just as I had seen it on the Aloha Condos website, and matched the reviews I had read on Trip Advisor. Although initially pleased with the condo, it seemed to grow even more cozy the longer we stayed. The condo owner has supplied virtually everything you'll need on your stay within the unit, including beach towels and boogie boards. The unit is recently re-furnished, with a very comfortable visco-elastic mattress and nice couches, tables, and night stands. It even has an HD flatscreen tv for watching television or movies. Nearby the condo (about .5 mi up the road) you'll find a convenient store plaza off the main road. It has a grocery store, two coffee shops, and places to catch a meal like Maui Tacos. If you're in the mood for grillin', the condo shares two large Kenmore BBQ grills that are more than adequate. One word about noise: from this unit location, the wave noise is almost nil (I was worried the units directly on the beach would get too much wave noise) and there is very little people noise (especially in comparison to the beach front units). On the other hand, there is quite a bit of bird noise in the morning (or, at least while we were there). I guess it depends on how you like to wake up!

The condo was amazing and perfect for what we needed. Napili Bay is the best beach we saw while we were in Maui. You couldn't ask for a better location. The kitchen was very well stocked except I would bring some ziplock containers if you plan on making a lot of your own food. There were a few containers but not enough for us. We ate breakfast and lunch at the condo most days and went out for nicer dinners in the evening. We did have one small problem with bugs (termites) one day, but it was handled swiftly by the staff and we were able to continue our vacation relatively hassle free. Overall, this condo was the best condo and location for the price we found anywhere. We still think so! The bed was even nicer than our own and we thought ours could never be beat. One small note about food, don't bother eating at the Gazebo. It's rated high on tripadvisor but the food is average and birds will land on your plate without hesitation (gross!). Definitely eat at Roy's (incredible food and about 2 miles south of the condo).

If we had known the condo was so comfortable and there's so many more things to do in West Maui, we would have stayed couple more days. The price for the condo was very reasonable. It was clean and equipped with everything we need. I was surprised it even had 2 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards and 2 beach towels ready for us to enjoy the beach which is just behind the condo. The simplest thing sometimes is the most important. The bed sheets, comforter, and the bath towels were soft, the pillows were firm. We slept so well every night. Even though there were many restrictions in the condo such as you can't hang anything on the patio railing to dry your wet swimwear or towel, there is a cloth liner in the bathroom for you to do that. At first I wonder if we would stay cool in the condo with just 2 ceiling fans but to our surprise, it kept us comfortable through the night. With the free Wi-Fi internet, we were able to access the internet to search for near by restaurants and to get directions. Lastly, I regret not writing in the guests book. Most importantly, I forgot to read the guests book because many previous guests had left very important travel information such as the best beach to hang out, restaurants, and shopping. Thank you for the wonderful experience Baptista

This was the second time my husband and I stayed here; the first being last July for our honeymoon. #217 is perfect because it's very private, but still steps away from the beach. It's close enough to everything (Front Street is only a few miles away). Jim is an excellent host and left us a really nice basket with fruit and candy - the managers onsite are also great, they checked in with us a few times when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The unit is clean, has new furniture and is very cozy. We cooked a lot of the time on the barbeques downstairs this time; the last time we ate out a lot but we felt the food was so much better when we made it. There's a great ethnic market a few miles away where we got a lot of great seafood really cheap and grilled it. The beach was semi-crowded, but never overly so. (it's a private beach). I would highly recommend this unit for 1-2 people; it's a studio condo and not huge but roomy enough with a fully stocked (utensils and stove, dishwasher, etc) kitchen, private lanai outside, and swimming gear like boards and floaties. If you prefer being around tons of people and like more touristy hotel settings, then this wouldn't appeal to you. But if you like your privacy and don't want to feel like you're up to your ears in people, this is an excellent choice.

Found the Napili Bay through tripadvisor.com and had read many consistent reports, so my wife and I thought we'd give it a try. We were not at all disappointed. First of all, the location is fabulous. We never needed to leave Napili, and the bay is wonderful. If you get tired of snorkeling and swimming in Napili Bay, you can always make the 10 minute walk over to equally stunning Kapalua Bay. The property itself is small, quiet, and you literally walk out onto the sand. There are a few peculiarities, which we quickly got used to. It might take a night or two to get used to the noise of the pounding surf. The condos are always open....no glass, only screens and shades. No A/C but we never needed it and enjoyed the openness. The condos are only about the size of an average hotel room, but that's all you need. Kitchens are fully functional, well-stocked, and clean and new. Stop at Costco (by the airport) or Safeway (Lahaina) and get your groceries and you won't need to leave. There's a small grocery store with a few other stores (including Boss Frog snorkel rental) just up the road. In a sense I hate to write such a positive review, cause I really don't want the Napili Bay to become hard to get into. It's not a big resort, not for kids, and not super elegant. It's just an excellent quiet place for a couple to get away and be lazy! We love it and are returning soon.

We wished there had been someone on the island who could have helped us at the time- our perhaps a number that we could have called after hours to get the code.

I am sorry that you didn't have the information you needed to get into the condo upon your arrival. I've not had this problem with guests since your stay in 2005 and always try to do my best to make sure it doesn't happen.
Detailed check-in information is provided to all of my guests, along with local contact information in case of problems, at least one month prior to their arrival.
I've also started contacting my guests within a week of their arrival day to double-check with them and make sure that they have everything that they need to get into the condo.

This was almost perfect. Very reasonable, 10 minutes from Kaanapali, and Lahaina. It is right on the beach. Wonderful view of the neighboring islands, Lanai and Molokai. Paradise. The only thing that stopped it from being perfect was the tiny little ants on the countertops. Couldn't do much food preparing, but everything else was awesome. I loved it.

Our daughter and son-in-law stayed in Unit 217, enjoying the ocean view, private lanai, and a very comfy king-sized bed. The room came complete with beach boogie boards and flippers. It was close to the laundry (very clean) and bbq area, where we shared family meals each night. They cried when they had to leave, and would definitely recommend this to any other young couple. With Napili Bay Resort Condos right on the ocean, they had immediate access to ocean sun and fun!

Our stay at Napili Bay Resort was lovely. The room was well appointed with comfortable tropically decorated furnishings. Although this is a side unit, we nonetheless had a spectacular partial view of the beach and beyond. We were impressed upon checking-in to find a welcoming basket full of tropical fruits and confections. The laundry room and outdoor picnic/grilling area were conveniently located as was car parking. We were suprised to find such a nice facility that offered so many conveniences plus easy beach access at a reasonable price. We will definitely stay at this resort again!

This was our third rental of Unit 217 at Napili Bay. The location is fantastic. Eating breakfast on the lanai while watching humpbacks breach is something special. The beach is great, as is the proximity to Kapalua and Lahaina (close enough to restaurants, golf, etc without being swamped with traffic). The condo is perfect for a couple, and we especially liked the sound of the ocean at night. The only downside was having an inconsiderate neighbor for a couple of nights who played their TV (loudly)all night--I guess to drown out the the sound of the ocean. Otherwise, we'd have rated this perfect. We will rent Unit 217 again on our next trip to Maui.

We really enjoyed our stay in Napili Bay. The condo was really well kept and there was everything that you ever need/want. The only drawback was the wind. WOW! That part of the island is fantastic but alittle isolated....which was good for us! This was probably one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. It was a quiet location and while others were fighting for parking to be able to enjoy Napili Bay we just had to walk across the property and we were in turtle heaven. The room was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied and I can hardly wait to return. If you have a car and don't mind driving around a bit this place is for you. You are close to some great beaches, but you will have to drive to get to them. Napili itself is right there, but it is fun to explore other beaches too. Not many resturants within walking distance. I am planning to return to Napili Bay. We absolutely loved it.

You always take a chance reserving a vacation rental on-line, will it turn out to be as nice as advertized? In this case it was better than we hoped. From the fruit basket greeting, to sitting on the lanai watching the whales, to sitting on one of the prettiest beaches we've seen in the islands, this was a truly wonderful vacation condo. While the north end of the island is perfect for a quiet vacation, you had a grocery store and snorkle shop just a couple of minute walk from your door, and a nice beach stroll to oceanside dining or cocktails at sunset (which was not blocked by the offshore island). Not only would we stay here again, if we could afford it we'd buy a unit.

We were steps to the beach which was just gorgeous. Beach chairs and a cooler were even provided. Snorkeling was great-lots of turtles call Napili Bay home. There is no air conditioning in the unit which was not a problem for us due to the great breezes but it's something to be aware of. I would prefer to stay here than in the noisy, crowded beachfront resorts. If your looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it. I have nothing bad to say about our experience in Unit # 217. My husband and I planned a last minute vacation to Maui and found a piece of heaven at Napili Bay. The complex is more "old hawaiian" style and the studio is nice for a couple. The view from the balcony was terrific and we saw many whales. The condo had everything we needed for our stay, ie full kitchen, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, wave boards, etc. Check in was easy since you get the key code prior to arrival. Rocco made the reservation process so easy and was very helpful. We have been to Maui several times, but have never stayed in Napili. It was great to get away from the crowds and enjoy the beach which is just steps away from the condo. The condo was clean and well kept. There was no air conditioning but had a nice breeze at all times. Once negative was the walls were a bit thin. A short drive or walk to the Ritz resort area is great for a nice dinner out. We will definately be back.

The key attraction to Napili Bay Resort is convenience. If we choose to sightsee, NBR is close to so many attractions, restaurants and shopping. If we choose wind-down, NBR gives us the chance to sit on the beach, swim and only worry what to have for our next meal. For families with youngsters, NBR is in an ideal location in a quiet residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of mega-resorts. We have been coming to NBR for ten years and will continue to make it our prefered vacation spot for many more.

We love The Napili Bay Resort! I saw somewhere that the loose motto of this place is, "Beach chairs and boogie boards." This sums up the experience save one key piece. The community (I almost say family) of The Napili Bay Resort is really nice. When you stay there you meet almost everyone. You meet them on the beach every afternoon for cocktails and sunset viewing (drag your beach chair out there) and later in the evening there is an informal bbq session where everyone sits around the courtyard to "talk story." Beautiful beach out in front and some nice little tide pools for checking out. Also, it's away from the rat race of Kaanapali Beach :) -roccit

We stayed in Unit 217 for 10 days last October. This was our second stay at the unit in two years and once again it lived up to our expectations. It is a pleasure dealing with Jim/Aloha Condos and the rental process, from initial booking right through to completion of our stay and return of deposit, was handled efficiently as always. The unit is as described on the website and was extremely clean and very well presented (and this is from somebody who is VERY picky (NB: see observation below*)). We were greeted with a welcome gift basket on arrival - a nice touch. The unit was well stocked with linens/towels/pots and pans etc and you couldn't want for anything when preparing meals. It had its own boogie boards and beach chairs/coolers/towels. Although the unit does not have air-conditioning (it has ceiling fans, however), I can honestly say that we never felt uncomfortable with the heat at any stage during our stay; the winds kept the unit cool and ventilated throughout the day/night (we have stayed in a similar resort in Kauai and this was problem). The amenities on-site were great - we made use of the 2 communal barbeques and washers/dryers. The resort grounds were well maintained, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. We have stayed in 3 different units at Napili Bay and on two occasions in 217. Personally, we prefer Unit 217 for location, as it is just off the front of the beach (to the side, but still with a great ocean view) and provides a little more privacy during the late afternoon/early evening whilst relaxing on the balcony. *One observation from last year's stay was that in our opinion the living area seating appeared a little worn due to wear. I note, however, that whilst looking at Unit 217 recently, Jim has renovated all the living/sleeping area furniture and furnishings and the unit looks fabulous. Congratulations once again to Jim for making our stay a most memorable one.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback and I also thought that the furniture was getting a bit dated. It hadn't been changed since I did a complete remodel back in 2000.
So last month decided it was time to upgrade and I did a complete remodel of the living area. I replaced all of the furniture with lovely and luxurious solid mahogany furnishings and mellowed out the color scheme with more earthy browns and sage greens. I replaced the headboard, night stands, sofa, coffee table, dresser, and wall mirror and as well as adding a new desk, chair and entertainment stand.
I also repainted and wall-mounted the 26" HDTV which now has over 300 digital channels and dozens of High Definition channels. You can even record your favorite programs on the DVR so that you watch what you want on your schedule.
I really hope that you come back and enjoy all of the updates.
Aloha,

I have been back in the States for one day & am ready to return. The Napili Bay Resort was fabulous. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore & then to get up and be only steps from the beach. It was so relaxing. Unit #102 has been very nicely remodeled. It feels more like a home (on the small side since it is a studio) but not like a basic hotel room. Drawbacks are the lack of pool & bathtub. Didn't even notice that there wasn't any A/C as the breeze kept it cool. Will love to return next year.

Everything was absolutely as promised on the website: we found a well equipped, tastefully furnished and conveniently located beachfront studio apartment on beautiful Napili Bay. A few issues should be considered though: this is a condo without A/C; we had quite a few mosquitos that cohabited the unit and, hence, needed to buy benadryl-cream to deal with the recurrent itch. Also, the lanai is small and does not allow you to stretch out. I don't want to blow this out of proportion but one should be aware of it.

This was my second time staying in Napili and I would definitely rent this condo again. The owners have done a great job of upgrading the entire unit with high end finishes. And what a view! I had read in Maui Revealed that the x01 and x02 units have the best view and they weren't kidding. The unit is literally right on the beach with a great view of the bay mostly unobstructed with the exception of the tree off to the left. The only thing that would have made the unit perfect was if you could get to the beach from the lanai, which I understand for security reasons, it's not practical. The owners provided snorkeling gear, boogie boards and beach chairs so there wasn't a need to rent any gear. The only negative was the bed and pillows weren't that comfortable and the linens and towels were sub-par. For as nice as this condo is, I would have expected them to be much nicer. But, the view more than made up for this. I would definitely rent this condo again as it's a good value for what you get.

I loved having so much beach to ourselves, no fighting for space like you do at a hotel beach. I slept like a baby every night, even if there wasn't air conditioning-you don't need it! The furnishings and art are first class as are the kitchen ammenities. We had stayed on Napilii some 20 years before and it was one of our most enjoyable vacations. It didn't disappoint this time. Low key, low rise structures, near perfect beach and fine snorkling (observed my first octopus, a treat)put it at the top of our list. Excellent restaurants within walking distance was nice also. What an amazing experience to literally fall asleep to the crashing waves each night and wake up to the same thing in the morning. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon vacation about 1 year ago (April 08) and we were just amazed. The first thing I said to my wife after we arrived was "call the owner, we have to stay longer!" This initial impression only became stronger over our 5 day stay. Each morning, we woke up and took a quick swim in the sparkling blue waters before cooking breakfast in the ultra-nice kitchen and eating on the incredible-view lanai (back porch). We watched whales jump in the distance and lizards scury across flowers/trees as we ate. After breakfast, we'd lounge on the beach (again, 5 steps from the front door) making frequent trips back to the kitchen for drinks, snacks, etc. Frequently, we'd walk 10 min across the beach to the next bay to snorkel with families (6-10 at a time) of large sea turtles. For dinner, we'd use the community grill to cookout and then watch movies on the zillion-channel satelite TV/flatscreen or play DVDs. Or we might walk down the beach to one of two restaurants overlooking the water. Suprisingly, the beach really was not crowded during the daytime - even with beautiful weather - we never had to fight for a spot. The beach is small with gentle waves and the crowd is very mellow/family (not much surfers or bikini babes). It was expensive but - we think worth every penny. We can't wait to come back!

Mahalo.

Our weeklong stay at Napili Bay Resort Condo 106 was fantastic! The condo, beach, location was a perfect fit for us. Not one complaint and we will try to stay there again if we ever get the opportunity. As other reviewers stated, there really isn't a reason to leave the area. We snorkeled, relaxed on the beach, boogie boarded, watched whales from the beach and from our lanai. We wished we could have stayed a lot longer!

Everything was just as we expected. The key was in the lock box as instructed and a lovely gift basket was waiting for us on the counter. The condo was very clean and decorated tastefully. The grounds were well maintained and the staff we encountered were very pleasant. The barbecue area was very clean and convenient to use. The sunset dinners from our lanai were better and more relaxing than we had in any restaurant. Napili Bay is a beautiful beach but the surf was high the first 5 days we were there so swimming wasn't great although there were plenty of people who didn't seem to mind the big waves. The beach is very active in the day but as soon as it gets dark everything quiets down. I must admit the surf is very loud. It took us a few days to get used to it but we both grew up around the ocean and we love the sound. There is a general store just down the road with all kinds of supplies and there are restaurants within walking distance. A shopping plaza with a grocery store is also very close by. Parking was never a problem at the condo. Kapalua Bay is within walking distance and is somewhat calmer for beginner snorkeler's. We definitely enjoyed staying in the condo more than our 3 nights at a fancy resort. It was so much more relaxing and you have all the comforts of home there as well.

The location is perfect. The condo was clean, neat, very nicely done with a newer kitchen and bath. It came with lots of goodies, like boogie boards and beach chairs. We watched the incredible sunsets right in front, on the sand or from the Lanai. We loved it so much, we had to make ourselves go visit the rest of the island. You can eat in or dine just down the beach. Close enough to Lahaina to shop, go to a Luau, or hop on a boat for a variety of activities. Loved it that we could go out and snorkle every day. We saw turtles right in front. Beach even has a little shade, which was especially nice for families or the easily sunburned. It was our best vacation ever.

Can't praise the owners and management of #106 at Napili Bay enough. We just got back from the most amazing week in memory, and this was largely due to such a hospitable condo experience. The beach is a leap away, snorkeling is good, turtles frequent the rocks / coral to the right, and there's even a great little restaurant/bar walking distance up the beach in a neighboring condo that made the whole bay a treasure. The condo had all amenities of home that we needed-- we cooked a lot and the kitchen was stacked with all the right things... cookware, spices, towels, and a dishwasher. #106 was extraordinarily clean, and felt cozy from the walk-in. The lanai was our favorite spot where we enjoyed our meals as we look over the beauty of the island. Huge thumbs up-- we're so going back.

You know you've stayed someplace special when, after more than a year, you still smile when you see a picture of it. In fact, Napili Bay was so wonderful, I have a picture of the view from the room as my screensaver. Napili Bay is in a quiet area, with easy access to the rest of Maui. The beach is imaculate and gently slopes to the ocean. There is a beautiful shade tree right outside your door and it doesn't get too crowded because it is in sort of a cove. We were there for our 25th anniversary and found it perfect for our needs. The unit was quite clean, the bed very comfortable, and the tiled bath was great. Everything was modern with a wonderful, fully equipped kitchen. I prepared several evening meals and breakfast every day, which helped maintain our leisurely pace. It was truly magical to fall asleep every night to the sound of crashing waves just 50 yards away. We were there in June and it was perfectly lovely, no air conditioning was necessary. The view from this room is spectacular and we saw several rainbows after early morning showers. It's just a short ride to some great snorkeling and all the other attractions and about 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Laihaina. My son plans to honeymoon in Maui next year and I will definitely recommend Napili Bay!

We spent a week in this condo for our honeymoon. Everything was beyond perfect...from the lovely gift basket awaiting our arrival to the gorgeous sunsets we viewed everynight from our lanai. Check in couldn't have been easier, as all we had to do was key in the code we were given and there was our key! No long lines like in a hotel. (same for checkout) The kitchen was fully equiped and top of the line. The condo came with all sorts of beach toys and chairs so it was nice not to have to rent those separately. There were plenty of towels and supplies stocked within the condo...never ran out. The beach was fantastic. After touring around the island and checking out different beaches we were the most pleased with Napili Bay. Perfect white sand and nice calm water. There was an awesome tree right on the beach and it provided us with shade when needed. We saw lots of turtles and even a monk seal on the beach one day! We would return to Napili Bay in an instant and probably stay in this same room again - absolutely zero negatives.

Everything that we needed (beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels) was provided for us. The condo was close enough to the beach to have a great view of the ocean and Molokai, yet far enough away to reduce the sound of the pounding surf. We have stayed in the Napili area before and condo 212 was our favorite experience. Napili Bay is a great location for morning walks, relaxing on the beach, playing in the surf, and whale watching. Several friends stayed in nearby units, and we enjoyed the nice BBQ and outdoor eating area together. We also really liked the Sea House, Gazeebo, and Pineapple Grille restuarants which are all within walking distance. Napili Bay is a true gem and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a great time on Maui. The condo was clean and well-designed for 2 people. We used the kitchen to our benefit. Access to the gorgeous Napili beach was restricted to people staying at the condo, although, of course, by law all beaches in Hawaii are public, so Napili beach was crowded when we stayed there. That did not detract much from the beauty of the beach and the views of distant Molokai and Lanai. Also, within a 10-minute walk of the condo is public access to Kapalua Beach, named one of the world's top 100 beaches. Can't beat that! The condo is within a 15-minute drive of Lahaina and its many shopping malls and wonderful restaurants. I highly recommend any of the condos at Napili Bay Resort. This is our second time at this resort in the past 10 years, and it has not changed in satisfaction over that period.

We loved staying here, especially since it had a full kitchen, a view of the beach, and it was a stone's throw away from the beach to go relax. It was also really nice that there were beach items to use in the condo like chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, etc! Air conditioning would have been nice only because it was unusually hot during our stay, and I was 6 months pregnant at the time. The mattress was also a bit too firm for my liking, but that is to be expected. I loved that this place was out of the way of the bigger touristy towns, leaving us with lots of privacy. The only part that we weren't too crazy about was that it is required that everyone be charged $100 for cleaning upon checkout, yet we were responsible for taking out the trash, doing the dishes, putting dirty towels in the appropriate place, etc. It only costs me $65 to get my whole 1870 sq. ft. house to be cleaned, so I think $100 for the tiny studio condo is a bit steep. All in all, we'd return for another visit!

We stayed in unit 201 for 11 days in late April-early May and simply cannot say enough great things about it. The view is spectacular from the private lanai - a view across to Molokai, perfect sunsets, etc. The beach is right there below, just walk out the door, down the stairs and there you are. The beach where the condo is located is great for swimming and sunning and relaxing. If you like snorkeling better, the cove to the left (across the rocks) and the first beach to the right (go through the resort on the point to the right) are both fantastic. As for the condo itself, it is nicely decorated, the bed is large and comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. There is a decent grocery store in Napili Plaza 5 minutes drive away. My girlfriend and I had the time of our lives - this place is simply magic. The price is very affordable too, not cheap but much less than a Lahaina/Kaanapali hotel/resort and the experience of being in your own condo is MUCH better than what you'd experience in a hotel. I have been to Maui several times, and this was by far the most enjoyable place I have ever stayed. One reviewer said that the waves were loud at night, which is true but you kindof tune it out pretty quickly. Maybe because of all the fun we were having, we had no problem sleeping and found the sounds of the waves very relaxing in no time at all. Anyway, trust me, this place is fantastic.

25 or so years ago, I lived in Maui and had to drop off a car in Napili to what I think was this unit. I remember standing on the lanai thinking that this was the best location in all of Maui. When I decided to return to Maui this spring, I used Google Earth and the web to track down this unit and the owner. I am very glad that I did. The unit is well equipped with everything that one needs for an extended stay- complete full-sized kitchen (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher) and kitchenware (even a rice cooker), boogie boards, beach towels, very comfy beach chairs, sofa, king bed, and a pile of movies. The unit is simple but has everything and it all is in excellent condition. In my opinion, this second- floor corner unit is the best location on Napili Bay. You can sit on the lanai and watch the people on the beach and have dinner while watching the sunset between Molokai and Lanai. I used to own a rental in Hawaii and know the commitment that it takes to keep a unit up to date and this owner has done an excellent job. I found Aloha Condos to be very professional and attentive with a good website with lots of info. This condo is literally on the beach, one could not get this project approved in this location today. I love Napili Bay. There is surf, snorkeling, and good beachfront restaurants on each end of the beach. The area buildings are a reasonable scale and the entire vibe of the area is old-school Maui. The nearby Napili Kai Resort has a Wednesday concert series with the best slack key guitarists in Hawaii. In terms of cautions, the sound of the surf is wonderful and relaxing to me. If you are not comfortable with the noise, this may not be the unit for you. Once again, this unit is literally on the beach. Beach goers make noise and that starts about 8 am. The unit is a studio so there is no bedroom to use as a getaway. Not friendly for disabled visitors. I will definitely return and recommend this unit to friends.

Napili is a wonderful little oasis in the western resorts of Maui. Napili Bay Resort, #201 was a great location -- right on one of the best little beaches in the area. You can hear the waves all day and night long. The studio was small, but immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The king-size bed was great -- very comfortable. We did a lot of cooking using the BBQ in the common area -- it was a great way to meet people and they were very nice. Thanks for a great stay!
Our experience was better than we imagined it to be.

We stayed in Unit 201 for 12 days. It met our expectations and then some. The onsite manager kept the grounds very clean. Jim the owner was helpful and answered all the questions we had prior to our arrival and afterards. I still hear the swooshing of the waves of the clear blue water. Unit 201 had the best ocean front view. It also had the most privacy of all units. Most of our time was spent on the lanai watching the beautiful sunsets. The condo was equipped with everything you could think. There was even a small cooler to use for day trips. The mattress was very comfortable. Location couldn't have been better, we discovered a coastal hiking trail within walking distance of the condo. Although there was no air conditioning, we found it to be comfortable with the fans and the ocean breezes. Would highly recommend it to all our family and friends.

We looked forward to this trip and were excited to find a reasonably priced condo right on the beach. Communication between the condo owner and us was really good and we had no trouble finding or getting into the condo late at night when we arrived. The home was just what we expected having seen photos on the internet. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were especially surprised and pleased to find an ipod dock in the room to charge our ipod and itouch. Some of the issues we had were that the unit was very tidy and 'surface' clean...it really could have used a thorough cleaning as it was somewhat grubby. The king sized bed needs a new mattress as it is very sloped on the side closest to the bathroom and this was hard on my back and made sleeping difficult. So, it wasn't restful sleeping there. The location and Napili Beach is wonderful. There were a couple of times that I would have appreciated someone in the 'office' to get some service...but, there's no office or obvious way to reach a manager for the complex. This was a bit frustrating. The bed alone would prevent me from renting this condo again. We thought we would 'love' the sound of the surf lulling us to sleep, however, the surf was bigger than usual (the locals said) and very loud....crashing and roaring all night which also interrupted and affected our sleep. Otherwise, it was a nice stay. Thank you.
Manager response:
Mahalo for your review on my beachfront condo in Maui. This is the first negative review I've received so I felt it was important that I personally review your concerns.
Your review notes that the condo needed a thorough cleaning so I've made my local contact and cleaning company aware of your disappointment - but first thought I'd check out the condo myself before letting them know.
When I first arrived in Maui there were guests already in my condo, so I asked them if felt the same way as you and they said absolutely not. They were surprised that a previous guest party had not felt the condo was thoroughly cleaned.
After the guests left I did an inspection and again didn't find the condo to be dirty "behind the surface". Of course my cleaners are now on alert and my local contact will continue to check their work after every cleaning.
Your comment on the bed mattress surprised me and I am sorry that you had trouble sleeping. I have installed 10 of these same high quality mattresses in all of my vacation rentals in Hawaii and have never had a negative comment since I put them in 2 years ago. The brand is Bergad and they are high-end Isoform Visoelastic mattresses. I've found them to be better than the Tempur-Pedic mattresses that I used to use because not only are they more comfortable, they are much cooler. I've had at least 20 comments from my guests raving about how they had never slept on a better surface and I love sleeping on them myself.
Based on your comment about sloping, I just replaced the box springs. The old ones were built for a spring-type mattress and the new ones are specifically made for Bergad-type mattresses.
You had mentioned that you needed to reach somebody for service but you never tried to reach my local contact or cleaner during your stay. Their phone numbers are included in the check-in materials as well as inside of the condo and they are available 24 hours a day. It would have been nice to have been able to give them the opportunity to resolve the issue(s) that frustrated you during your stay.
Lastly, this beachfront condo is 35 feet from the ocean. You would land in sand if you jumped off the lanai. The sound, smell, sights and feeling of being by the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean is why this condo is so popular. If you don't want to have this direct beachfront experience, I own condo 217 and would recommend this lovely beach view condo as a better choice for any future stay with us.
Again, thank you for your comments.
With Aloha,
Jim Dornfeld, Owner, Napili Bay Resort Condo 201

We loved the view, the close proximity to the beach, literally the condo is on the sand, on the beach! For our first trip to Maui, a condo is perfect with all the amenities, to cook breakfast and/or lunch, order in pizza...it was great. I forgot to pack a beach bag, but in the gift basket we received, there was one~plus delicious fresh fruit and goodies!! We walked up to the restaurant on the beach and had the best "award winning poke nachos"!!! Snorkeling with turtles everyday, wasn't so bad!!! We didn't need anymore room that what we had, you spend so much time at the beach or out adventuring anyway, it was perfect. The only thing I would complain about is that we could have stayed 2 weeks, one wasn't enough to enjoy the island. Next time I will stay longer!!
Hope to go back every year

Unit 201 at Napili Bay is a dream. You couldn't be closer to the water and the views are amazing. You can see the islands of Lanai and Molokai from the condo, not to mention the lovely stretch of soft sand and blue water right in front of you. The mattress was the best I've ever slept on, one of those visco-elastic memory foam beds. It's also a king size bed, which for some reason is hard to find in a studio condo out there. We swam with turtles every day. The best way to do that from the condo, by the way, is to walk left at the beach and follow the little footpath over the lava rocks to the small, protected bay on the other side (you'll pass the Gazebo restaurant). There are a couple easy entry spots, you'll see people getting in and out of the water, just follow them. The only "con" I can think of about this place is the constant sound of waves hitting the shore, 24/7, day and night. That's really nothing to complain about, I know, but I'm a light sleeper and we had to keep the windows open (it was August), and the waves really can seem noisy in the middle of the night. But that said, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Can't wait to go back. P.S. For anyone who cares, I did not see a single bug in the condo.

This end unit (north) provides a more panoramic view of the beach from the lanai. And 2nd floor adds more privacy as neighbor condos cannot see down into your space. Nice beach for kids. Waves were large enough to have fun without looking dangerous. The beach chairs provided came in handy. Shaded outdoor cooking area was a nice addition to the full kitchen inside (with blender, toaster, etc). Onsite manager (Lee) and cleaning staff were pleasant and kept things neat. No problems with pests.

My stay in Unit 201 was my third stay at Napili Bay Condo's and I would have to say that although each of the units that I have stayed in were wonderful, Unit 201 was the best because of the upper level, corner location. This unit is beautifully furnished, equipped with everything you will need and nice patio furniture on the lanai to enjoy the breathtaking views. The only con with this unit would be if you had any physical issues that would make it difficult to get your luggage up the stairs. This complex is located on the best beach in Maui, the grounds are immaculate and the feel is relaxed. It is a short driving distance to lots of shopping and dining options, quite a few within walking distance. There may be some noise from the beach (because it is literally right below the lanai!), but being on the second floor helps to buffer it. Do not hesitate to rent this unit. If you are headed to Maui for the beach, the scenery and relaxation, you will not be disappointed!

This condo has incredible views, overlooks a stunning beach, and was well equipped and very clean. The sound of the surf at night was restful. It is a short walk down the beach to the Sea House Restaurant, one of my favorites. It is also a 10 minute drive to Lahaina and Kaanapali, where there is shopping galore. The snorkeling is superb in Napili Bay, and even better a short walk north at Kapalua Bay. The condo is small, but cozy and extremely romantic for 2. I highly recommend this condo, which has the best views in the development.

If you're looking for a perfect swimming and snorkeling beach away from fast food restaurants and all the bustle of Kihei, then Napili Bay is where you want to be. Napili Bay condos are completely self-contained, safe, quiet and right on the best part of the bay. There's even a large tree on the beach for shade. A few great restaurants are within walking distance, if you feel you need a break from cooking. And spending time on the beach is a great way to meet your neighbours. Barbecues out back are super convenient, along with the laundry facilities and parking. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on Maui. It's the perfect oceanfront holiday.

We spent 5 days in this beautiful condo overlooking Napili Bay. The sounds of the surf crashing on the shore as you sleep reminds you how close you are to the beautiful sandy beach at Napili Bay. We enjoyed being able to prepare our own food and eat it on the Lanai and watching the people on the beach. Napili Bay is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places on earth and I can't wait to come back again. I would choose this condo again because of the location on Napili Bay, the great accomodations and decor and because of the wonderful hospitality and personal touches that Jim will have waiting for you when you arrive. It's on the best bay on Maui - beautiful sunsets, clear water for swimming & snorkelling, resident turtles, and only a few feet from breakfast every morning to the sand. An easy drive to Lahaina and the condo itself is well equipped, very clean, great decor and the sound of the ocean was wonderful to listen to every night. The welcome basket was a great touch! Evenings are very quiet and perfect for romantic moonlit walks along an empty beach. This is a unit that all you have to do is show up with your flip flops and your bathing suit and you're set. As I found and booked this property online I wondered how accurate the descriptions were until we arrived. It was very accurate and there was no surprises other than a nice welcome gift in the room. The property sitting on the beach allowed a number of activities for young and older participants. We watched whales drinking coffee in the morning on the lanai, playing on the beach, snorkeling in the wonderful bay accompanied by the resident turtles and catching as much sun as possible. We enjoyed cooking ourselves when we wanted in a well equipped kitchen although we have visited 2 restaurants easily accessible in neighboring resorts. There is a plaza close by to allow groceries shopping, renting snorkeling equipment, booking activities etc. We appreciated all information provided by the owners where to go, what to do, where to eat out. We did quite a lot of exploring of Maui but would likely be perfectly happy just to stay and rest on "our beach". We liked the unit perfect for 2 people- it was clean, well maintained - we were very comfortable after the first night that surprised us by the sound of ocean's waves and palm's "talking" in the wind. Overall it was one of the best vacation ever. I can wait to go back there.
