Absolutely wonderful!
Our stay was just about perfect!!! Working with Kathy, the owner, was so easy; she provided everything that we needed! She also had lots of tips for where to go, etc... I would recommend a/c, though, because of the afternoon Western exposure....the sun warmed the condo significantly in the afternoons; nights and mornings were very comfortable, with the windows open and fans blowing, but late afternoon got pretty warm! It was our choice, but next time we would get a/c. If we are able to return, this is definitely where we would stay!

loved, love, loved our week staying at this condo. we've traveled to kailua-kona several times and i'd like to start by saying the KTA grocery store up the hill has improved so much over the past couple years. you can get all sorts of local produce (much of it organic) and their prices are comparable; for the big island, at least. costco also has some great local stuff. that being said -- the kitchen in this unit was awesome! the appliances themselves all worked great (that blender was crazy!), but more so the way it was furnished was the nicest part. there were herbs and seasonings and extra paper towels and jars of various condiments were actually left in the fridge! they supplied cleaning products and rags and dish, dishwasher and laundry detergent. there was every gadget imaginable (took us a week to figure out what the pineapple corer was)! we weren't left needing a thing. it's very rare to visit a condo that supplies all those extras. the comforts of home continued throughout the unit. it was very clean, and while it didn't feel brand new, it was super cozy. plenty of space for 3 adults and a toddling 1-year-old. i had inquired about a crib before our trip for the baby and some rental companies were referred to me. those places are ridiculously expensive so i decided to just have the babe sleep with me. the owners took it upon themselves to purchase a play yard for the unit, and charged us a very fair rate for it. the extras continued all the way out to the lanai with a gorgeous view, a mini fridge for all the drinks and a closet stuffed full of beach chairs, pool toys, boogie boards and even snorkel gear. this trip was one of the most relaxing so far (as relaxing as possible with a toddler under foot). the pool areas are nice, the water was a little cold, but refreshing at times. the grounds were very serene all around. i would definitely recommend this condo to a friend traveling to hawaii. we hardly left, and can't wait to get back!

Our family of 6-with 4 teenagers-absolutely loved this condo, and the resort as a whole. The condo was equipped with everything you could possibly imagine, from beach chairs and cooler bags to fully equipped kitchen(better equipped than mine!)to internet and stereo system for the ipod, to games and books to read.Even beach shoes! With 4 teenagers it was a bonus to have 3 bedrooms, and all the beds were very comfortable-the master was a dream! There was plenty of room in the condo, and a lovely big lounge as well as 2 recliner rockers, so enough space for everyone when chilling out in front of the tv.The bathrooms were very luxurious, the master bathroom spoilt us all-HUGE double shower was fabulous.Enormous walk-in robes in bedrooms meant we could unpack our luggage and feel as if we were in our home, without tripping over opened suitcases on the floor of the bedroom. Being on the upper floor made it a pain to carry suitcases up the stairs, but we only had to do that once, and it was well worth it for the view from the lanai. It was so relaxing sitting there, day or night, looking at or just listening to the water. It really was worth paying for something that was almost on the water with such spectacular views. The resort itself is beautiful, it was fairly quiet when we were there, had the pool to ourselves on most occasions. We went for a walk along the front of the resort, quite amazing, but rough on your feet if you only have thongs on.You should also walk to the golf course, quite beautiful. We did some grocery shopping at nearby Keauhou Gardens shopping centre, and also ate at a couple of the restaurants there-good food and not expensive. We had 6 night there, and filled the days with lots of activities,so didn't get to spend a lot of time just relaxing at the resort, but we could have easily spent another week there just enjoying the facilities and the condo. If we are ever lucky enough to get back there,we would certainly stay at this condo again.

Wonderful evenings on the lanai
The whole complex was quiet and very well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and the barbecue was easily accessible . The mall was very close ,within walking distance for our groceries . The pools were never crowded or noisey .Getting up in the morning and having kona coffee on the lanai watching humpback whales was fantastic! The only thing I would improve is a better light to see the lock box for the key when you arrive late . Overall a great place to stay and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed for 10 nights, absolutely great! View was fantastic, saw dolphins more than a couple of times. Very well furbished. Sofa, bed, etc. all comfortable. I would definately like to come back.

We rented 1804 for 10 days in October during "Ironman Week." The location was perfect, the views and sunsets were breathtaking and the condo had everything we needed. It was far enough away from downtown Kona to get away but close enough to be there in minutes. The unit was convenient to two great beaches where we snorkled and body surfed. It was also very convenient to a launch for incredible kayaking. The pool was convenient for a relaxing dip. We used the outside grill for cooking which was also great. If we ever return to the Big Island, we could not imagine staying anywhere else.

We stayed here Sept. 26-Oct 3...there were two couples (we were celebrating both husbands' 50th b-days) and a 22-year-old son. The condo is very well equipped, comfortably furnished, and spacious enough. Lots of extras (ice chests, chairs, beach towels) so we didn't have to spend extra $$ or time getting these things. While it is about 20 minutes to downtown Kona or other attractions to the north, we enjoyed the peaceful and well-manicured setting of the complex and the awesome views of the kayakers, boaters, and crashing waves off the lanai! We would definately stay in this condo again. Thank you! Note: the restaurant and bar at the condo complex are no longer open.

We were in Hawaii for my sister's wedding and stayed at this beautiful condo. We had never rented a vacation home before - had always stayed in hotels - but this was so great, we would definitely do it again. This unit is so close to the water, you can almost jump in from your lanai. The view is gorgeous! There is not a beach, as it is a rocky shoreline but if you are looking for a clean, spacious, nicely decorated and well maintained condo where you can relax, listen to the surf and enjoy spectacular ocean views, this is a wonderful choice. There is a golf course here, but we don't golf, so we didn't try out the course. The pool was nice for the days that we just wanted to lay in the sun for awhile. We did, of course, do alot of sightseeing and it was great to come back to a quiet, laid back, peaceful place and just chill. Paradise!!!

This condo is great! The unit itself is beautiful, very tastefully decorated and extremely well maintained. The ocean-front location within the property is very nice - away from the center of the project, so privacy is enhanced. As a friend said of this unit 3 years ago, if you were any closer to the water, you'd need a boat. We've stayed in several different Kanaloa units, and more than once in this condo. All have been very enjoyable; however, unit 1804 has been the best - by virtue of location, being ocean-front, and unit decor, furnishings, and maintenance. I keep saying I'll be very happy to just stay and relax at this condo for the vacation, but activities invariably draw us out. Kanaloa at Kona is a wonderful location in the Keauhou Resort area of the Kona Coast. It's only 15 minute drive to Kailua-Kona town; and less than 5 minutes to one of the best snorkeling beaches (Kahalu'u Beach Park)along the Kona coast. The location is also 5 minutes from the Fair Wind and Sea Paradise snorkeling boat operations. We've also stayed at the Waikoloa area that's about 20-25 miles north of Kailua Kona, but the recent growth of condos in that area has greatly increased the population density. And it's usually windy there - the local nickname is "Waikablowa." And, the Waikoloa location assures you a 30-45 minute drive to come to town - or to get anywhere. So, our recommendation, when asked, is to stay at Kanaloa at Kona in the Keauhou Resort area, in unit 1804 if it's available.

Good pools, and even one for adults only, so there is no screaming kids to deal with. We have stayed in this condo community 2 others times, but stayed at different condos--this one is by far the nicest one. Every time we come to The Big Island we will stay in this community.

My husband and I stayed in unit 3601 for a week in December. Although it was just the two of us, we opted for this unit because of the view and proximity to water. It did not disappoint. The lanai was a perfect spot to watch the waves, and had us thinking we could go jump in the water. As it turns out, the waves break hard at this location, so it was not ideal for me as a beginner. But the beauty and sound were enjoyed throughout our stay. This home is obviously loved, and the stocked kitchen was greatly appreciated. All the pots, pans, and accessories you could ask for, not to mention the spices, oils, etc. This resulted in us saving a bundle on dining out, and resdiscovering how much we enjoy preparing meals. We enjoyed the free wireless internet, which, along with the books in the condo, allowed us to do some research each day to make sure we had our plans straight. It also allowed us to stay in touch with the folks back home. The tile in the home is orignal, and is the only dated feature. By no means does it require replacement, but it does show the guests the period in which the condo was originally constructed. We enjoyed the pools on site, especially the adult only pool, which we would escape to if too many kiddos were playing at the main pool. We did not order from the resturant/bar at the main pool. They were awaiting their liquor license, and were serving a limited menu.

Aloha Condos did nothing to make us feel welcomed. Our checkin instructions were not sent to us until we emailed and called several times before arriving. Once we got there we did not receive a welcome package, discribing the facilities, and no one at the front deck would help us because you are not a resort guest. "You're with Alohacondos, it's like a curse, no one will even talk to you. They wouldn't even let us have a map of the resort. When we called aloha condos about the information, we were told to look for a packet on the livingroom coffee table. I told them there was nothing on the table they said it should have been placed there but never provided the information. I would never rent from Aloha condos again. The owners were nice, they came and turned on the air conditioner (which costs an extra $15.00 a day) if they hadn't done that Aloha Condo Service would have charged us an additional $25. to unlock the thermostat. . Being right on the ocean was lovely. The pool and bar were enjoyable. The grounds were very nice. The apartment was adequate. Having the second bedroom bathroom in the hallway was inconvenient and lacked privacy. Dealing with Aloha Condos was very disheartening and total not in the Hawaiian spirit. DON"T GO ALOHA CONDOS
Manager response:
It’s unfortunate that our guest didn’t receive the information sent to them or contact us before their arrival saying that they didn’t know how to check-in to the condo.
The check-in instructions were emailed 30 days prior to arrival, with a follow up reminder one week before arrival. Included in these instructions were specific details with directions to the resort, how to register with the security guard at the resort entry, and how to find and access this beautiful, privately-owned condo. Gaining access doesn’t require using the Outrigger front desk as they only manage units in their rental pool.
The information guide was inadvertently placed on a shelf in the kitchen with other helpful guide books. These include appliance directions and menus from recommended restaurants and cookbooks. It is boldly labeled “Kanaloa Info”.
Aloha Condos does not charge the guests for necessary services, including unlocking a thermostat. Guests can, and do, call and receive prompt and courteous personal attention for any concern they may have.
The floor plan is clearly shown on the website. Guests often comment on how they enjoy the spacious size (1500+ sq ft) of this unit, including the conveniences offered by the layout, not to mention its beautiful location on the little bay.
This review is quite unique and a surprise to us. The owner met the tenants when he came to turn on the A/C control and once again, as they were leaving. Both of these encounters were very cordial and complimentary in nature, with no complaints expressed.
We feel very fortunate to have received more 900 FlipKey reviews and thousands of verbal complements on how Aloha Condos truly conveys to our guests the Aloha Spirit that makes Hawaii a wonderful place to be.

We spent a great deal of time on the lanai, which was practically in the waves! It was so relaxing to watch the waves crash on the rocks and view the beautiful sunsets. We also used the ocean view pool every day and enjoyed the facilities there. It was nice to have a shower right there for a quick rinse off after swimming. A very nice BBQ was located just across from our unit and we met some nice people while we cooked dinner each night. It was a bit of a drive to a white, sandy beach, but the one across from the Veteran's Cemetary just north of the airport was fantastic. Great snorkeling, beautiful, clear water, and gentle waves in which to play and swim. We also had a great fresh ono dinner at Quinn's, which I would highly recommend. All in all it was a delightful vacation and we would definitely return to Unit 2003 again in the future!

We were looking for a 3 bedroom sea front property and they appear to be few and far between anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands. This property just managed to fit the bill, although the 3rd bedroom was basically a room on a mezzanine floor, with little privacy. However, we were aware of that before we booked, so we are not complaining. That room did get very warm, so we went for air conditioning, which was fine. The sea facing balcony had a lovely lounger and some a nice dining table and chairs, not those cheap plastic ones. It was nice and quiet for our stay, but a family did stay in the flat below one evening and you were very aware of their conversations when sitting out on the balcony. There was plenty of towels etc. and we had everything we needed. The property is nicely furnished and clean. The one thing I was not happy about, was $165 for the cleaning fee. To me, that's a heck of a lot of money just to keep the place clean. Again, we knew that before we booked, but that cost is more than excessive to me. If your thinking of staying here, I would advise that you get a car. There is a nice restuarant on the complex, but if like me, you like a choice, you need transport. There is a shopping Mall a short drive away, but its a good 15-20 minute uphill walk away. OK coming back, its downhill then! The complex does have 3 swimming pools, but none of them had much in the way of shaded area's. My family love sunbathing, but I'm not so keen. There was the odd umbrella, but even under them the sun beats thru and you could easily burn if you are not careful. One gripe, you can only drink your drinks at the bar and not round the pool, which I did not agree with. I like to sip my drink whilst laying round the pool, not sitting up at a bar. I suggest that they get some plastic tumblers and let people enjoy themselves.

This condo is so much larger and more open than many I've stayed in. The third bedroom loft was perfect for the kids (but the beds upstairs were uncomfortable I hear). The master bedroom was very nice and the remodeled bathroom was beautiful! The kitchen was in need of also being remodeled and updated. The grout was pretty old and not terribly clean. Also the ivory carpet in the master bedroom was very old and grungy. The condo is really fabulous and the Kanaloa at Kona grounds are spectacular! Thanks for a great trip!

This property had every amenity that you could need. It was comfortable, beautifully decorated and very spacious. We had an ocean front view that was by far the best we've ever had. I always insist on an ocean front or ocean view unit and this was about as close to the ocean as you would want to be. At times, I had to close the slider door to be able to hear the television in the evening. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. The ocean was beautiful. Our only regret is that this condo is not on our favorite island of Maui. We enjoyed the Big Island but perfer the more goings on of Maui. This unit is great and the grounds of this complex are beautiful. If we ever come back to the Big Island, this is where we will stay.

I'm not surprised to learn that Aloha Condos would like a review of our stay in Kona. Like everything else, their follow-up is flawless. We arrived late on Saturday night and were greeted by the gate guard. She escorted us to the unit, waited to make sure we had proper entry, and then left with a smile. Needless to say, we were in bed within the hour. Upon awakening, we rushed to the lanai to take in the magnificent view in the early morning sunlight. We were just in time to see a humpbacked whale do a complete jump out of the water, and come crashing down again. So spectacular it's hard to even describe. But, that was just the first hour. Everything just got better and better after that. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo, the surroundings, and the island. We especially liked Lulu's downtown. Great Mai Tai's, great Poke, and really fair prices. Found the speed limits to be somewhat confining, especially on the open road, but that's because I'm used to 55 mph on city streets here in the desert. All in all, a great place to vacation. Quiet, great view, close to everything, and very reasonable prices. Thanks Aloha for a memorable vacation experience. Oh yes, Bruce is the best... any problems, he'll handle it immediately... Jamison's is pricy. King Kam's Luau is the best. and the open air market on Ahi'i Street is well worth stopping for (better than the one downtown on the water)... The concierge saved us about $500 in fees for the activities we chose to do... Thanks Shawn. Snorkeling, Horseback riding in Waip'io Valley, sunset cruise on the catamaran, the luau, the volcano, and of course, the Black Pearl engagement ring we found in Hilo... yep, it was a great two weeks. Thanks.

The condo is spacious and beautifully decorated, with everything one needs, and from the lanai we had a wonderful ocean view (whales, birds) and could listen to the surf at night. The Kanaloa at Kona resort is great, with its three pools, spas, tennis, and it's within walking distance of Keauhou shopping and adventures. (We recommend Four Winds II for a great boat and snorkeling trip.) We hope to stay here the next time we're on the Big Island!

Roomy, clean and attractive condo. Many amenities including wireless and great view. Was very quiet while we were there. Convenient location especially if you don't like the downtown crowds. Right around the corner from boat trips out of Keauhou Bay and close to groceries, dining and Kahaluu Beach Park snorkeling. Restaurant on premises was closed but kitchen is well equipped. Loved it!

To quote my wife when she first stepped in : "Oh my God!". This is a little piece of paradise. The only thing missing is AC for the warmer days of the year. We did not need it because it. The wind was ennough to cool us down, but, we could imagine what it would have been a month latter (i.e. June and Jully). We wanted to add our positives comments in the guest book with all the others, but, our flight was moved a lot earlier and we had to rush to get to the airport. A big THANK YOU to Jim and Panit Lisy (owners). Pascal and Aphrodite

Unit was very well equipped with all the comforts of home. Grocery store and shopping very near. Security personnel very friendly and helpful upon check in. Unit does not have a/c which was a surprise, but didnt turn into a major problem even in May. Excellent view. Unit could use some updating and maintenance, appears to be mostly original since construction. If I visited the island I would stay there again, given the amount spent it was still a great value overall. We did find Kona to be a little on the quiet side, we prefer things a bit more lively.

We were thrilled to learn the reason behind all the dive boats anchored off the Sheraton in the evening viewed from the lanai.

We loved that it was on the second floor so that we could open the lanai doors on both ends of the condo and let the sea breeze through. This also provided for gorgeous views of the ocean and shoreline. There is only a rugged stone beach in the cove next door (not suitable for kids) but it's a short drive to Kahaluu, disappearing sands, etc. for swimming and a great location for trips down to Kealakekua and Honaunau for snorkeling.

We stayed at Kanaloa twelve years earlier, and through the internet found the condo complex once again. Most of the units were frankly too expensive for our planned stay, but after looking at the site several times, this unit popped up. It was just right. I particularly like the communal use of the grills outside.

If you're like us and don't need a beach at your front door but you still want the ocean views and fresh breezes, you'll love this condo. It has a great lanai with comfortable lounge chairs along with a table, so you can spend your entire time there and still have the great Hawaii experience. But if you want to get out and explore and enjoy the attractions of the Big Island, this place is ideally located, just minutes away from Kona town with its great restaurants and many activities. You'll find this apartment to be just like home with its full sized appliances, comfortable beds and even a second lanai off the large bedroom. The area affords convenient shopping, nearby golf courses and easy access to the major roads on the Big Island. Covered parking along with a large pool and clubhouse nearby makes this complex an ideal location for families and couples. The unit doesn't have air conditioning but it really doesn't need it because of the large windows, sliding doors and ceiling fans that circulate the cool ocean breeze. The unit and the complex itself is well maintained and clean and the full time gate attendant gives you a feeling of security. There is an on-site restaurant offering a gourmet Hawaiian dining experience and an opportunity to enjoy a gorgeous ocean sunset. We can hardly wait to go back!

Mostly clean, (some ants in the bathrooms), incredible view and location for being in crowded Kailua-Kona at Christmas time. Loved the music provided and the very well equipped kitchen. Felt 'hurried' by the cleaners to get out, twice in fact, before we needed to be gone that last day ... We enjoyed the boogie board a few times at different beaches and the cooler. I would stay here again anytime.

My husband and I spent 3 days at Kanaloa at Kona and had a wonderful time. This was our first time at these condos and also our first time on the Big Island. Checking in was a breeze and we were so pleased that everything was spotless and in order when we arrived. The condo was even nicer than the pictures on the internet. We had a lovely view and the pool was just a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this condo. We found the lanai to be especially relaxing and with the incredible views of the ocean and coast line, we spent most of our time out there when we were home. The master bed was the most comfy bed I haver ever slept on! The location is great and quiet with restaurants, a grocery store and take-out just a couple of minutes away. There was some good info at the condo regarding the Big Island and things to do. We loved taking a helicopter ride to see the volcano and couldn't pass up swimming with the wild Dolphins. All in all we enjoyed not only Hawaii, but also felt very fortunate to have found such a nice condo. We are looking forward to returning to this condo again and plan on staying longer.

....Just got back and cannot wait to tell you what a fabulous time we had at the Condo (# 2403).....I was looking for a review page where I could thank you for a really top notch vacation not only because of the unbelievable views from our lanai, but also for the excellent accommodations and a wonderful "Red Book" with detailed information on restaurants, things to see, and step by step guide to all the conveniences that make for a truly relaxing and enjoyable vacation!! I am so glad that this venue is available for those of us who just want to share a really awesome experience. Everything we needed (or thought we would have to go out and get) were at our fingertips and convenience. There was nothing we ran out of that was not provided for. A lot of thought was put into making this a (gorgeous) home away from home, and that, in my estimation, is definitely the earmark of a well managed enterprise. Please make sure that the word gets out so that no one misses out on a 5 star vacation!!! MAHALO, MAHALO, MAHALO!!!!! Cheryll Neese

Six ladies spent the last three nights of an eight night stay in the Kona area at this nicely appointed condo. We were lucky to find something available at the last minute and were very pleased with the ammenities, the complex, and the view from the lanai. The housekeeper was very helpful in getting us into the condo early. We enjoyed ourselves and wished we could have stayed longer. Our only recommendation is that renters be aware that the third bedroom is indeed only a loft with a full size futon for a bed. We made it work for us but a "real bed" would make the condo perfect for 5-6 adults. We would definitely recommend this unit as well as the complex.

The condo was gorgeous and conveniently located for getting supplies/groceries at the shopping center, as well as visiting beaches and other attractions. The space was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. We had plenty of room for 6 adults and a little tyke. The lanai with the large dining table allowed us all to dine outside together. The condo was well equipped right down to the kitchen amenities, boogie boards and snorkel masks. It was decorated nicely and very comfortable. It was easy to make reservations online and communicate with the owner by phone and email to finalize arrangements. Beth also helped ensure everything was perfect for us and was available to answer questions of us while on island. Thanks for providing the perfect accommodations for us!
