Excellent, again!
This was our third time in this condo. It's always a pleasure and the beach towels, tennis rackets & boogey boards were appreciated. The size of this condo and the loft suite made our teen grandkids very happy. It's so convenient to the pools and the golf course side of the complex feels cooler. The sofas and beds are comfy, the kitchen is well equipped and the cleaners did a nice job. AlohaCondos.com is a great place to rent from-never any confusion or disappointments in the many times I have rented from them

Quiet,Very nicely furnished and fully equipped,Beautiful View
We stayed here for a week celebrating our 50th anniversary. It was the perfect condo for us. It is located within beautiful grounds(my wife said it was like walking around in the Garden of Eden) with the lanai overlooking a small cove with the ocean waves breaking against the shoreline, sounds of a variety of birds,a quiet peacefulness, and private location. The condo is beautifully furnished with care and equipped with everything you could need or want.We would highly recommend.

Outstanding in all aspects
I reserved unit #203 at Kanaloa at Kona through aloha Condos. Our 8-day stay was outstanding in all aspects. Booking and instructions: Booking was efficient and our queries were answered promptly. Instructions to access the resort and the unit were crystal-clear and it was easy to find the condo even after dark. The condo: Everything there is arranged to make your stay easy, comfortable and, enjoyable. The unit is perfectly clean and highly functional. The fact that beach equipment was provided and the welcome fruit basket are nice touches that the whole family appreciated. The unit is beautifully decorated and one can see its owner takes great care of it. Books, DVD, and a wealth of touristic information were other aspects we enjoyed. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything was in perfect working order. After long days touring the Big Island, it was great to have peaceful and pleasant dinners at the condo. We also all loved having breakfast on the lanai. Kanaloa at Kona: Grounds are extremely well kept and pretty with all those flowers. We enjoyed the pools and the fact we could use the barbecues. Walking along the shore was another pleasure we had at Kanaloa. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate one second to stay there again. We travel a lot and have rented condos and houses in many locations in Europe and the USa. This was definitely one of our best if not our best rental experiences.

Recommended for a family with young children (and others)
We had a great stay at Condo 2601, and we'd go back again. The check-in process was easy and quick (email with clear and simple instructions). We recommend using the a/C especially if your children are used to sleeping (napping during the day) in a quiet setting. The only noise was made by grounds-keeping service (leaf blowers or some motorized equipment). The indoor slippers help (tile floor). The kitchen is well equipped with appliances, dishes, and dish washing powder, and extra trash bags (it is your responsibility to take the trash out). We recycled plastic, glass and aluminum, but were not quite sure where to take it to. The housekeeping service we ran into outside offered to take it for us. The living room was very comfortable and had TV, VCR, DVD and cable. The drawer below the TV contains a selection of movies. The DVD in the living room won't play the foreign (non-us system) Dvds. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and clean. There is a blow-drier, and basic cleaning supplies, and broom and a vacuum cleaner. There is some beach equipment (towels, toys for children, floating toys, coolers, beach chairs). The wireless connection worked. During our stay, the big disappointment was that the pool right in front of our apartment was not operating (repairs from april 2010 to ?). However, the other pool (for kids) was very near. We saw (not heard) some improvement made on the pool being repaired. As for the beach, the little "bay" south of the condos as seen on Google Earth seems walking-distance beach accessible. The access to the beach is steep, hit by waves, and not for kids. The wonderful and safe beaches just several miles away. For the kids, the "Keiki beach" close to the public swimming complex and the old airport is nice (it is a tidal pool with sand and "pahoehoe" (smooth) lava rocks). Ask the locals for directions. We had a great vacation and the kids called it "our home on the Big Island."

A beautiful, relaxing, must needed rest received at Condo 2904.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Condo 2904. The condo was extremely well equipped. We were especially thrilled with the kitchen as we both enjoy cooking and use condo kitchens. This one offered so much more than just the regular Outrigger condo kitchens. We appreciated all the little extras to use at the beach. The location is beautiful. We loved listening and watching the surf from the front lanai. We liked the location of the Resort at the end of the "tourist area". Yet, close to Kona and wonderfully close Kayak rentals. Perfect snorkeling just down the beach too. We had planned on 5 nights in Volcano Village, but chose to return to Kanaloa at Kona to finish our vacation. (Unfortunately we weren't able to stay again in 2904 but still loved the resort.)

Condo 604 was extremely comfortable for our family of 5. Our girls are 17, 21, and 24 years old so we truly appreciated having three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The condo was nicely furnished and even had some unexpected extras such as sand chairs. My husband commented numerous times how pleased he was with our stay. Our only disappointment was that the ocean-view pool was closed during our stay limiting our access to the water from the complex. We spent most of our beach days at Kekaha Kai Park just north of the airport; beautiful & less crowded (1.5 miles from highway on unimproved road through the lava fields), you can snorkel from the beach and see beautiful fish and sea turtles. Our trip highlights include ziplining near Hawi, watching the sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea (requires 4WD on unimproved, steep road) and snorkling with the manta mays. Our week was awesome; we would definitely return to Kanaloa at Kona Condo 604.

The condo was exactly as the pictures show, no surprises. It overlooks the golf course and you can see the ocean if you just lean out a bit, wonderfully peaceful. The condo had all amenities and some extras for tennis and detergent for laundry it exceeded my expectations. You can see the sunset each evening, just a short walk to the end of the course, it's a must with a glass of wine of course! I was also very, very grateful that they allowed us to say a past the checkout time as we had an evening flight out and wanted to enjoy the day and shower before our flight.

Getting booked couldn't have been easier. The owner answered all of my questions the day we emailed and we were booked that same day. The master suite was exceptional! Over-sized jaccuzi bath, his and her sinks, and much more. The entire condo had just been remodeled, which allowed for a trip that was second to none. The location of the condo was perfect. The lanai over looked the pool and the ocean. Every morning we would sit out there as a family and enjoy breakfast while the sun was rising and as we planned out our day. It was very close to Alii Dr. where all of the local shops and stores are located. The condo was next to Captain Cook cove, in which we went out and snorkeled with the manta rays at night. This was truly, one of my top life experiences. There still is nothing that I can identify as being negative with this trip. But I can say that the best part of this trip is being able to have the family in a beautiful location, in an amazing condo, and being relaxed for the first time in a long time. Usually a trip to Hawaii is a once in a life time opportunity, and if you stay at this location, it surely will be! Matt Carr

The service we recieved couldn't be better. My family and I enjoyed being on the property more than being at their baseball tournament we flew up there for. In fact my children refused to leave on the day of check out. So I promised to take them back to stay in the same unit very soon. The shopping mall is convenient its located right across the street. If you're looking for a family oriented place to stay this is the place to be. I recommend everyone and anyone to stay at this condo. I Wouldn't change this stay for anything. Our extended family of six enjoyed our stay in this property. However, those that stayed on the upper floor needed air conditioning to sleep. Except for the ceiling fan, there was now ventilation up there. We would highly recomment that some windows be added to the upper floor. Also, the stove only had two working burners while we were there. They were replaced as we were departing. The facility was clean, attractive and inviting and we enjoyed having some water equipment available for our use. We especially liked having a washer and dryer in the condo. The views were wonderful and watching the golfers each morning was great fun. If I were ever taking my entire family again, I would definitely choose this facility. The three bathrooms were a godsend for our group. And being able to spread out and not be on top of each other was wonderful.

We just returned home in April after staying in this nicely updated fully equipped upstairs unit overlooking the golf course. Surounded by tropical shrubs and trees the lanai is large and private and perfect for relaxing Scrabble games-and we played many! I don't think that we have ever been in unit where the kitchen is so fully equipped and it has all the beach gear that you could want. We felt very comfortable living here for almost a month. There is no AC but ceiling fans everywhere-even on the lanai- to give you a breeze. There are restaurants and a shopping center nearby including a movie theater. Or you can rent DVDs and watch them in the unit like we did. If you like to watch golfers play-you can. If you like to go to the pool-there are 3 to choose from. We would recommend this unit to anyone except those that require air conditioning.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review.
Please note that the condo *does* have central air conditioning (AC).
This guest had chosen to not purchase the AC option ($15/day) when they booked my condo directly on the Aloha Condos website.
At all times of the year, my guests can choose whether or not they want AC for their stay in my lovely condo - Kanaloa at Kona 604.

This condo overlooks the fairway of the Kona Country club--always fun to see golfers going by. It's a short walk to the ocean--like 150yds--what more can you ask for. I would recommend this condo and complex for both couples and families--a great vantage point to get to Kona or just hang out locally. Enjoy this gem!

After visiting the ?Big? island of Hawaii semi annually for many years We discovered the perfect place to launch a Hawaiian vacation approximately six ?seven miles south of Kailua Kona ?Kanaloa at Kona?. It has been the ideal location to participate ( as spectators ) in a fourth Ironman Triathlon event held annually in October. This trip required the renting of four separate units as this would be my wife?s last trip after battling Ovarian cancer for many years. I needed a spacious unit as my daughter would require sufficient space for their family of 5 + their Au Pair. Aloha Condos web site accurately pictured the space & privacy of Unit 604 As luck would have it the Refrigerator decided to malfunction but the Owners representative had the problem resolved quickly. I can?t say enough about the condominiums at Kanaloa at Kona. Each we have stayed have met our needs to balance cost with accouterments, some with a breath-taking view of the sea, others with the immaculacy maintained grounds & fairway. They are close to a modest shopping center so families can hit the grocery store or if cooking is not on the menu several reasonably priced restaurants are available.

loved, love, loved our week staying at this condo. we've traveled to kailua-kona several times and i'd like to start by saying the KTA grocery store up the hill has improved so much over the past couple years. you can get all sorts of local produce (much of it organic) and their prices are comparable; for the big island, at least. costco also has some great local stuff. that being said -- the kitchen in this unit was awesome! the appliances themselves all worked great (that blender was crazy!), but more so the way it was furnished was the nicest part. there were herbs and seasonings and extra paper towels and jars of various condiments were actually left in the fridge! they supplied cleaning products and rags and dish, dishwasher and laundry detergent. there was every gadget imaginable (took us a week to figure out what the pineapple corer was)! we weren't left needing a thing. it's very rare to visit a condo that supplies all those extras. the comforts of home continued throughout the unit. it was very clean, and while it didn't feel brand new, it was super cozy. plenty of space for 3 adults and a toddling 1-year-old. i had inquired about a crib before our trip for the baby and some rental companies were referred to me. those places are ridiculously expensive so i decided to just have the babe sleep with me. the owners took it upon themselves to purchase a play yard for the unit, and charged us a very fair rate for it. the extras continued all the way out to the lanai with a gorgeous view, a mini fridge for all the drinks and a closet stuffed full of beach chairs, pool toys, boogie boards and even snorkel gear. this trip was one of the most relaxing so far (as relaxing as possible with a toddler under foot). the pool areas are nice, the water was a little cold, but refreshing at times. the grounds were very serene all around. i would definitely recommend this condo to a friend traveling to hawaii. we hardly left, and can't wait to get back!

My husband and I stayed in unit 3601 for a week in December. Although it was just the two of us, we opted for this unit because of the view and proximity to water. It did not disappoint. The lanai was a perfect spot to watch the waves, and had us thinking we could go jump in the water. As it turns out, the waves break hard at this location, so it was not ideal for me as a beginner. But the beauty and sound were enjoyed throughout our stay. This home is obviously loved, and the stocked kitchen was greatly appreciated. All the pots, pans, and accessories you could ask for, not to mention the spices, oils, etc. This resulted in us saving a bundle on dining out, and resdiscovering how much we enjoy preparing meals. We enjoyed the free wireless internet, which, along with the books in the condo, allowed us to do some research each day to make sure we had our plans straight. It also allowed us to stay in touch with the folks back home. The tile in the home is orignal, and is the only dated feature. By no means does it require replacement, but it does show the guests the period in which the condo was originally constructed. We enjoyed the pools on site, especially the adult only pool, which we would escape to if too many kiddos were playing at the main pool. We did not order from the resturant/bar at the main pool. They were awaiting their liquor license, and were serving a limited menu.

Aloha Condos did nothing to make us feel welcomed. Our checkin instructions were not sent to us until we emailed and called several times before arriving. Once we got there we did not receive a welcome package, discribing the facilities, and no one at the front deck would help us because you are not a resort guest. "You're with Alohacondos, it's like a curse, no one will even talk to you. They wouldn't even let us have a map of the resort. When we called aloha condos about the information, we were told to look for a packet on the livingroom coffee table. I told them there was nothing on the table they said it should have been placed there but never provided the information. I would never rent from Aloha condos again. The owners were nice, they came and turned on the air conditioner (which costs an extra $15.00 a day) if they hadn't done that Aloha Condo Service would have charged us an additional $25. to unlock the thermostat. . Being right on the ocean was lovely. The pool and bar were enjoyable. The grounds were very nice. The apartment was adequate. Having the second bedroom bathroom in the hallway was inconvenient and lacked privacy. Dealing with Aloha Condos was very disheartening and total not in the Hawaiian spirit. DON"T GO ALOHA CONDOS
Manager response:
It's unfortunate that our guest didn't receive the information sent to them or contact us before their arrival saying that they didn't know how to check-in to the condo.
The check-in instructions were emailed 30 days prior to arrival, with a follow up reminder one week before arrival. Included in these instructions were specific details with directions to the resort, how to register with the security guard at the resort entry, and how to find and access this beautiful, privately-owned condo. Gaining access doesn't require using the Outrigger front desk as they only manage units in their rental pool.
The information guide was inadvertently placed on a shelf in the kitchen with other helpful guide books. These include appliance directions and menus from recommended restaurants and cookbooks. It is boldly labeled "Kanaloa Info".
Aloha Condos does not charge the guests for necessary services, including unlocking a thermostat. Guests can, and do, call and receive prompt and courteous personal attention for any concern they may have.
The floor plan is clearly shown on the website. Guests often comment on how they enjoy the spacious size (1500+ sq ft) of this unit, including the conveniences offered by the layout, not to mention its beautiful location on the little bay.
This review is quite unique and a surprise to us. The owner met the tenants when he came to turn on the A/C control and once again, as they were leaving. Both of these encounters were very cordial and complimentary in nature, with no complaints expressed.
We feel very fortunate to have received more 900 FlipKey reviews and thousands of verbal complements on how Aloha Condos truly conveys to our guests the Aloha Spirit that makes Hawaii a wonderful place to be.

This is our eighth consecutive year visiting the Big Island and our fifth stay at Kanaloa. This condo is by far one of the superior rentals that we have stayed in in this complex. The condo was not only clean and homey, but during the tsunamia warning the owners personally called us to offer their advise and assistance. The only thing we missed was the small refrigerator on the lanai, we like our beverages nearby in our evening relaxation period. We would highly recommend this unit and hope to aquire it again next year.

We stayed here for two weeks, the first time in this condo but a return visit to Kanaloa. The complex is away from the bustle of Kailua but handy to a shopping centre that has a lot of amenities. The condo is very comfortable and well maintained. There are a lot of nice touches that you often don't find in a condo, like toiletries. The kitchen is well stocked to get you started if you want to cook. Both the lanais are equipped with comfy furniture and perfect for relaxing o dining outside. Our only complaint was having to pay for cleaning twice in two weeks - and the cleaning fees are high. Other than that we would definitely recommend this condo.

We found our condo to be very good. It was very well organised and clean with Hawaiian furnishings and decor. I loved sitting on the sun lounger in the morning and looking at all the beautiful flowers and the tropical birds. I have never slept so well. It was very peaceful. Kona is a great location. 15 mins form airport. The amenities were very good I liked the fact it has a mail box in the main office. The owner of the condo left very good details about where you can find everything. The kitchen and bathrooms of the condo could be updated but I found them to be adequate. My favourite things was the deck and sun loungers.I am usually hard to please but I could not find fault with the condo or the amentities

We love the location that is central to one of the best beaches for snorkeling and close to the marina we visited to catch our boat for our scuba outings. The resort is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. The condo itself is beautifully decorated, and had all the comforts or home, plus more. It was so nice to have beach towels, snorkeling gear, boggy board, and ice chest available for our outings. To top things off we even received a welcome basket full of treats. What an amazing vacation we had! We can't wait to return.

What a wonderful place Kanaloa is! We've stayed there 5 or 6 times now. And this time was no disappointment. Of all the condos we've visited, #203 was the best organized. All the closets were clearly labelled. There were detailed instruction books on the desk. And there were plenty of supplies. We therefore had a care-free stay. We were delightfully surprised to find a gift basket from the owner at the door. We're looking forward to return next year, and we will definitely book through Aloha Condos (rather than with the on-site organization).

This condo is in a great location in the Kailua area. We enjoyed eating meals on the spacious and well-appointed lanai. The condo is well-suited for a couple with young children; it would be crowded for a couple with two teenagers. Although not on the ocean, the view across the fairways of the golf course are fine and relaxing. My only less than stellar statement is that the kitchen and baths have not been updated, so these areas of the condo feel old and tired.

We often travel as a family. It's always a challenge for us to find accommodation for 5, parents and 3 teenagers. Thus, when I could luckily reach the owner by phone, I felt very good about him as he was very kind and sincere to answer my questions and offer suggestions. He was very professionally communicative throughout our Hawaiian holiday. The location was away from the busy highway and was very quiet, yet very close to shopping and dinning. I believe that the owner vacations in the property when not renting. The place was more than we expected. It was just like being at one's elegantly, tastefully and beautifully decorated home with a large family kitchen, cozy living room, spacious dinning room as well as full cleaning and laundry amenities the family needs. The location of the condo was away from a busy pool, facing the vast green field. It was always quiet to fall asleep with windows open. We stayed at another private 2-bedroom condo in Maui and Oahu on this trip. If he had had the accommodation for 5 of us on these Islands, I would have chosen to stay at his property definitely. His place has been a big part of our good memories of our trip to the Big Island of Hawaii.

Our family stayed at Kanaloa at Kona #203 several years ago. It was our 3rd trip to the Big Island in 5 years, and our first stay at unit #203. By far, unit #203 was the nicest unit we stayed at. It was the most spacious, quietest, and most beautifully furnished. The unit is located on the edge of the golf course, and is situated away from the parking lot, so it is especially quiet. The very large living room looks out to the golf course. The furnishings are not only high quality, but tastefully done in a "tropical" theme, adding to the island experience. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the two bedrooms are very spacious. We stayed at a different unit at Kanaloa at Kona the prior year, but this unit was much nicer (and larger). I would highly recommend this condo for a vacation rental on the Big Island and would absolutely stay again in this unit.

We were very impressed with the owner's efforts to make this condo a welcoming and relaxing place to stay. The attention to detail is very evident - soap supplied for the dishwasher (rather than having to buy a whole box for just a week's stay), waterproof pads for the mattress (we have 2 young kids), detailed information on where to eat and what to do locally, beach toys for the kids, a welcoming gift basket including Kona coffee, all the appliances and dishes one could ever need, and the list goes on and on. I really appreciate it when someone 'gets it,' and Jim clearly does. The condo was a very welcoming and quiet place to come home to after a busy day. We are so glad we didn't stay a little farther north towards busy Kailua-Kona. All this at quite a reasonable price too. Should we return to the west side of the Big Island someday, the decision on where to stay will be a no-brainer!

We enjoyed many of the beaches around the island with one of the best snorkel beaches just minutes away. We had dinners on the lanai while watching beautiful sunsets. The staff were wonderful as they were all extremely friendly and responsive to our questions. We were skeptical of the pictures on the internet because we had been stung before. This condo is clean and very well stocked and has really been taken care of. We were impressed with the view, the location is great, and you can listen to the surf as you fall asleep after watching the amazing sunset from the pool or spa tub. The grounds are clean and the staff is very helpful. This condo even has beach towels and an assortment of beach toys, boogie boards and a cooler to pack lunches in. Condo 2601 is very spacious. My husband and I were travelling with our two children aged fifteen and twelve and we all had such a great time here. If we ever get a chance to return to the Big Island of Hawaii we would definitly try to book this condo again. We liked everything about this place. We did not have to deal with any front desk, just get the parking pass from the gate monitor and straight to the condo. It felt like we were staying at our own house. Complete with everything one needs for cooking (including some required spices and oils), beach chairs, boogie boards, candles, and everything you can think of. This place overlooks the family pool (closes at 8 pm) and you can see and hear the waves from the patio. This unit was hundreds of dollar's cheaper than the direct ocean front where you can see the sunset, but it is only a 1 minute walk from the ocean front. I think a worth trade off, especially considering how easy this place was to stay at. If you have young ones, this place is a plus because they have some gear for toddlers (sand toys, training potty, etc.) Enjoy the jacuzzi tub and dual heads shower in the master bath. No complaints. A little work is needed on the sliding screen door on patio. We loved it. Thank you.

Rooms and amenities were sufficient and comfortable, although I was not very satisfied with its cleanliness, especially of floor and kitchenwares. We were also a bit annoyed with noises came from upper unit. I guess one of bath rooms of upper unit is located right overhead of the bedrooms of unit 2601. Noises of showers and toilet flush came through a ceiling were not very comfortable. I also thought the screens placed on the windows facing lanai should be maintained. It was very hard to handle and have a couple of small holes. Besides these minor issues, however, we really enjoyed our stay at Kanaloa. It's location is very convenient and easy to access to beaches, shopping centers, yet hidden and quiet. I can't forget beautiful sunset we saw from the lanai. Our suite was very spacious, The Lanai in our suite was also large with a great view to both the ocean and the pool. We had a great stay.

We are fond of the Kanaloa Condominiums, especially unit 2601. It's comfortable and feels like a home away from home. The unit is very convenient to the pool, bbq grill, and the rugged coastline. The master bath is large with a double shower and in a separate room has a jacuzzi tub that helps melt away one's cares! The kitchen is easy to navigate with an extra large refrigerator and wide countertops. The lanai is spacious with a table that easily seats six. Our one and only hope is that the master king bed be replaced as it's a little uncomfortable.

Condo 2904 is very nice overall and is recommended. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The view is very good and close to the ocean. There are a few minor issues that stop me from giving the condo a 5: the bathrooms are servicable but they definitely need a remodel (one bathroom is partially redone), the foam pillows were comfy for foam but there were no feather pillows which we prefer, the walls are pretty thin, but that is likely the case for most condos, and the wireless router was completely unsecured with no encryption. The biggest issue is that the TV set up is not great - there is a small flat screen in the main room (it is very small) and the DVD and VCR set up is a nigthmare (2 separate units, with the DVD routed through the VCR). I am really good at figuring these setups out but I could get sound or picture, but not both. The bedroom has a medium sized tube with a DVD/VCR combo which is a lot easier to use. These are relatively minor issues with the TV being the biggest if you were to stay several weeks.

The whole complex was quiet and very well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and the barbecue was easily accessible . The mall was very close ,within walking distance for our groceries . The pools were never crowded or noisey .Getting up in the morning and having kona coffee on the lanai watching humpback whales was fantastic! The only thing I would improve is a better light to see the lock box for the key when you arrive late . Overall a great place to stay and we would go back in a heartbeat.

I'm not surprised to learn that Aloha Condos would like a review of our stay in Kona. Like everything else, their follow-up is flawless. We arrived late on Saturday night and were greeted by the gate guard. She escorted us to the unit, waited to make sure we had proper entry, and then left with a smile. Needless to say, we were in bed within the hour. Upon awakening, we rushed to the lanai to take in the magnificent view in the early morning sunlight. We were just in time to see a humpbacked whale do a complete jump out of the water, and come crashing down again. So spectacular it's hard to even describe. But, that was just the first hour. Everything just got better and better after that. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo, the surroundings, and the island. We especially liked Lulu's downtown. Great Mai Tai's, great Poke, and really fair prices. Found the speed limits to be somewhat confining, especially on the open road, but that's because I'm used to 55 mph on city streets here in the desert. All in all, a great place to vacation. Quiet, great view, close to everything, and very reasonable prices. Thanks Aloha for a memorable vacation experience. Oh yes, Bruce is the best... any problems, he'll handle it immediately... Jamison's is pricy. King Kam's Luau is the best. and the open air market on Ahi'i Street is well worth stopping for (better than the one downtown on the water)... The concierge saved us about $500 in fees for the activities we chose to do... Thanks Shawn. Snorkeling, Horseback riding in Waip'io Valley, sunset cruise on the catamaran, the luau, the volcano, and of course, the Black Pearl engagement ring we found in Hilo... yep, it was a great two weeks. Thanks.

The condo is spacious and beautifully decorated, with everything one needs, and from the lanai we had a wonderful ocean view (whales, birds) and could listen to the surf at night. The Kanaloa at Kona resort is great, with its three pools, spas, tennis, and it's within walking distance of Keauhou shopping and adventures. (We recommend Four Winds II for a great boat and snorkeling trip.) We hope to stay here the next time we're on the Big Island!

Right around the corner from boat trips out of Keauhou Bay and close to groceries, dining and Kahaluu Beach Park snorkeling. Restaurant on premises was closed but kitchen is well equipped. Loved it!

To quote my wife when she first stepped in : "Oh my God!". This is a little piece of paradise. The only thing missing is AC for the warmer days of the year. We did not need it because it. The wind was ennough to cool us down, but, we could imagine what it would have been a month latter (i.e. June and Jully). We wanted to add our positives comments in the guest book with all the others, but, our flight was moved a lot earlier and we had to rush to get to the airport. A big THANK YOU to Jim and Panit Lisy (owners). Pascal and Aphrodite

Unit was very well equipped with all the comforts of home. Grocery store and shopping very near. Security personnel very friendly and helpful upon check in. Unit does not have a/c which was a surprise, but didnt turn into a major problem even in May. Excellent view. Unit could use some updating and maintenance, appears to be mostly original since construction. If I visited the island I would stay there again, given the amount spent it was still a great value overall. We did find Kona to be a little on the quiet side, we prefer things a bit more lively.

Our trip to the Big Island was made so much more enjoyable by the wonderful accomadations provided by your condo.Clean, clean, clean! Everything we could have possibly needed (and more) were provided. The location was convenient to many excursions available to travelers. We were thrilled to learn the reason behind all the dive boats anchored off the Sheraton in the evening viewed from the lanai.

We loved that it was on the second floor so that we could open the lanai doors on both ends of the condo and let the sea breeze through. This also provided for gorgeous views of the ocean and shoreline. There is only a rugged stone beach in the cove next door (not suitable for kids) but it's a short drive to Kahaluu, disappearing sands, etc. for swimming and a great location for trips down to Kealakekua and Honaunau for snorkeling.

We stayed at Kanaloa twelve years earlier, and through the internet found the condo complex once again. Most of the units were frankly too expensive for our planned stay, but after looking at the site several times, this unit popped up. It was just right. I particularly like the communal use of the grills outside.

If you're like us and don't need a beach at your front door but you still want the ocean views and fresh breezes, you'll love this condo. It has a great lanai with comfortable lounge chairs along with a table, so you can spend your entire time there and still have the great Hawaii experience. But if you want to get out and explore and enjoy the attractions of the Big Island, this place is ideally located, just minutes away from Kona town with its great restaurants and many activities. You'll find this apartment to be just like home with its full sized appliances, comfortable beds and even a second lanai off the large bedroom. The area affords convenient shopping, nearby golf courses and easy access to the major roads on the Big Island. Covered parking along with a large pool and clubhouse nearby makes this complex an ideal location for families and couples. The unit doesn't have air conditioning but it really doesn't need it because of the large windows, sliding doors and ceiling fans that circulate the cool ocean breeze. The unit and the complex itself is well maintained and clean and the full time gate attendant gives you a feeling of security. There is an on-site restaurant offering a gourmet Hawaiian dining experience and an opportunity to enjoy a gorgeous ocean sunset. We can hardly wait to go back!

Mostly clean, (some ants in the bathrooms), incredible view and location for being in crowded Kailua-Kona at Christmas time. Loved the music provided and the very well equipped kitchen. Felt 'hurried' by the cleaners to get out, twice in fact, before we needed to be gone that last day ... We enjoyed the boogie board a few times at different beaches and the cooler. I would stay here again anytime.

My husband and I spent 3 days at Kanaloa at Kona and had a wonderful time. This was our first time at these condos and also our first time on the Big Island. Checking in was a breeze and we were so pleased that everything was spotless and in order when we arrived. The condo was even nicer than the pictures on the internet. We had a lovely view and the pool was just a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this condo. We found the lanai to be especially relaxing and with the incredible views of the ocean and coast line, we spent most of our time out there when we were home. The master bed was the most comfy bed I haver ever slept on! The location is great and quiet with restaurants, a grocery store and take-out just a couple of minutes away. There was some good info at the condo regarding the Big Island and things to do. We loved taking a helicopter ride to see the volcano and couldn't pass up swimming with the wild Dolphins. All in all we enjoyed not only Hawaii, but also felt very fortunate to have found such a nice condo. We are looking forward to returning to this condo again and plan on staying longer.
