My wife and I were very happy with this condo. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed the sitting on the lanai when we weren't out and about. From the lanai we even saw whales and spinner dolphins a few times. The property was clean and well maintained. It was provided with paper towels, and bathroom tissue, laundry detergent, dish soap, and trash bags which was very helpful. There are three pools on the property as well as jacuzzi s, but we preferred the snorkeling in the ocean. The location was convenient to shopping, beaches, and restaurants. It was a relaxing atmosphere and a pleasure to be woken by bird song in the morning.

Before booking this condo I spent much time on the internet researching the lodgings, area, etc. as one might expect. We booked with Kanaloa at Kona Condo 2904 because the reviews were very good and it was in a good area. When we showed up (early and weary from our other travels) we were absolutely shocked at how amazingly wonderful this place was! Every room was exceptional - tastefully decorated and clean with modern appliances. Every room contained anything one might need, as if it was our own home. This was just the inside - as we walked up the stairs and into the living area the first view was of the ocean splashing on the rocks below our balcony!!! We had no idea the view was going to be so spectacular, but when we booked, we didn't worry about that aspect knowing we were out exploring and doing activities all day every day. We instantly felt somewhat sad and decided to change our plans on a day just to be able to stay in and enjoy the condo. I honestly can say there is nothing negative to say...quiet neighbours, shops and amenities close by, helpful staff, beautiful all around!!

We just got back from spending a week here and enjoyed every minute. The condo was more than well stocked with anything you could need. We especially appreciated the full size washer and dryer for those loads of bulky beach towels. (Which were provided by the owner) The kitchen was stocked with a variety of spices and condiments. Also provided were a large coffee maker, rice cooker, coffee grinder and more. If I had to rack my brain for a negative there is very little space to store your food besides the refrigerator and freezer. But I would much rather not have to buy the basic spices/condiments and have rice cookers etc than have a place to put away a few groceries. The condo complex is beautifully landscaped filled with fragrant tropical flowers. It was a joy to come "home" every day. The view from the lanai was just as beautiful as the pictures. We hope to stay here again when we return to the Big Island. A special mahalo to Chuck for quick email responses and his gracious handling of our special request. His kidness was very appreciated.

My wife and I just retired and we took some time to visit our favorite island. The condo has everything we needed. We didn't need to buy a thing to add to the kitchen. The view was entertaining. The binocular was a useful tool to enjoy fishing boats, kayakers, racing canoes and dolphins. One evening I watched a fishing boat play a large fish and really got excited as they struggled to subdue the fish next to the boat. The trophy took three fellas quite sometime to haul into the boat. Kanaloa is situated in a quiet and secure location. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We will return.

It was a great location for family gatherings-we rented 4 different units. Lots of pools, barbeques and easy access to so many sites in the area. Our condo was very comfortable with everything in working order. The best surprise was the snorkel gear and beach stuff in the unit for our use. We woulld definately stay here again.

Hawai'i-bound from Fremont, CA on 09/17/2010 said:
This unit was a great oceanfront unit with about a 60 degree view of the ocean from the lanai. We could see spinner dolphins, kayakers, outriggers, fishing boats, and manta ray diving boats form the lanai. At this time of year we could not see the sun "set into the water" from the lanai, but it was visible with a short walk. Keauhou, where Kanaloa at Kona is located, is very convenient to West Hawai'i (and Kailua-Kona) without being in the middle of Kailua and its touristy activity. We have stayed at this condo complex on numerous occasions. The facilities and grounds are generally well-kept. On this visit the pools were not crowded, at any time. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not functioning in some fashion (economy?) and access to its open-area seating and the grassy area beyond it were denied. The unit, itself, was clean and well-furnished with up-to-date electronics (two LCD TVs with Dvdvcr players, cable, and wireleless internet) and fairly well-supplied kitchen and BBQ utensils. (Could have used a coffee grinder for Kona Coffee.) The fan in the bedroom was sufficient to keep us cool at night, but aC would have helped. The fan in the living room could have moved the air a little better. Ventilation, on the whole was good, but could have been improved with a screen door at the first floor entry to this second story unit. Downsides were the outside lighting (entry porch light was not functioning making it difficult to find the key and insert into door handle and the lanai could have used additional lighting from the outdoor fan housing allowing dinner to be eaten after sunset, which comes earlier than the mainland during summer) and placement of palm trees that limit view from the lanai. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Convenient to wherever we wanted to be and whatever we wanted to do during our stay.

Condo 2904 is very nice overall and is recommended. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The view is very good and close to the ocean. There are a few minor issues that stop me from giving the condo a 5: the bathrooms are servicable but they definitely need a remodel (one bathroom is partially redone), the foam pillows were comfy for foam but there were no feather pillows which we prefer, the walls are pretty thin, but that is likely the case for most condos, and the wireless router was completely unsecured with no encryption. The biggest issue is that the TV set up is not great - there is a small flat screen in the main room (it is very small) and the DVD and VCR set up is a nigthmare (2 separate units, with the DVD routed through the VCR). I am really good at figuring these setups out but I could get sound or picture, but not both. The bedroom has a medium sized tube with a DVD/VCR combo which is a lot easier to use. These are relatively minor issues with the TV being the biggest if you were to stay several weeks.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Condo 2904. The condo was extremely well equipped. We were especially thrilled with the kitchen as we both enjoy cooking and use condo kitchens. This one offered so much more than just the regular Outrigger condo kitchens. We appreciated all the little extras to use at the beach. The location is beautiful. We loved listening and watching the surf from the front lanai. We liked the location of the Resort at the end of the "tourist area". Yet, close to Kona and wonderfully close Kayak rentals. Perfect snorkeling just down the beach too. We had planned on 5 nights in Volcano Village, but chose to return to Kanaloa at Kona to finish our vacation. (Unfortunately we weren't able to stay again in 2904 but still loved the resort.)

I'm not surprised to learn that Aloha Condos would like a review of our stay in Kona. Like everything else, their follow-up is flawless. We arrived late on Saturday night and were greeted by the gate guard. She escorted us to the unit, waited to make sure we had proper entry, and then left with a smile. Needless to say, we were in bed within the hour. Upon awakening, we rushed to the lanai to take in the magnificent view in the early morning sunlight. We were just in time to see a humpbacked whale do a complete jump out of the water, and come crashing down again. So spectacular it's hard to even describe. But, that was just the first hour. Everything just got better and better after that. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo, the surroundings, and the island. We especially liked Lulu's downtown. Great Mai Tai's, great Poke, and really fair prices. Found the speed limits to be somewhat confining, especially on the open road, but that's because I'm used to 55 mph on city streets here in the desert. All in all, a great place to vacation. Quiet, great view, close to everything, and very reasonable prices. Thanks Aloha for a memorable vacation experience. Oh yes, Bruce is the best... any problems, he'll handle it immediately... Jamison's is pricy. King Kam's Luau is the best. and the open air market on Ahi'i Street is well worth stopping for (better than the one downtown on the water)... The concierge saved us about $500 in fees for the activities we chose to do... Thanks Shawn. Snorkeling, Horseback riding in Waip'io Valley, sunset cruise on the catamaran, the luau, the volcano, and of course, the Black Pearl engagement ring we found in Hilo... yep, it was a great two weeks. Thanks.

It has a great lanai with comfortable lounge chairs along with a table, so you can spend your entire time there and still have the great Hawaii experience. But if you want to get out and explore and enjoy the attractions of the Big Island, this place is ideally located, just minutes away from Kona town with its great restaurants and many activities. You'll find this apartment to be just like home with its full sized appliances, comfortable beds and even a second lanai off the large bedroom. The area affords convenient shopping, nearby golf courses and easy access to the major roads on the Big Island. Covered parking along with a large pool and clubhouse nearby makes this complex an ideal location for families and couples. The unit doesn't have air conditioning but it really doesn't need it because of the large windows, sliding doors and ceiling fans that circulate the cool ocean breeze. The unit and the complex itself is well maintained and clean and the full time gate attendant gives you a feeling of security. There is an on-site restaurant offering a gourmet Hawaiian dining experience and an opportunity to enjoy a gorgeous ocean sunset. We can hardly wait to go back!

Mostly clean, (some ants in the bathrooms), incredible view and location for being in crowded Kailua-Kona at Christmas time. Loved the music provided and the very well equipped kitchen. Felt 'hurried' by the cleaners to get out, twice in fact, before we needed to be gone that last day ... We enjoyed the boogie board a few times at different beaches and the cooler. I would stay here again anytime.

My husband and I spent 3 days at Kanaloa at Kona and had a wonderful time. This was our first time at these condos and also our first time on the Big Island. Checking in was a breeze and we were so pleased that everything was spotless and in order when we arrived. The condo was even nicer than the pictures on the internet. We had a lovely view and the pool was just a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this condo. We found the lanai to be especially relaxing and with the incredible views of the ocean and coast line, we spent most of our time out there when we were home. The master bed was the most comfy bed I haver ever slept on! The location is great and quiet with restaurants, a grocery store and take-out just a couple of minutes away. There was some good info at the condo regarding the Big Island and things to do. We loved taking a helicopter ride to see the volcano and couldn't pass up swimming with the wild Dolphins. All in all we enjoyed not only Hawaii, but also felt very fortunate to have found such a nice condo. We are looking forward to returning to this condo again and plan on staying longer.

Thanks.

We enjoyed a tranquil, quiet week with beautiful views while living in an immaculate, spacious, comfortable townhouse located a few milres south of Kailua, Kona. We look forward to a repeat experience in the near future.
