Luxurious condo at a super afforable price!
We traveled to Kona with our friends for our "last hurrah trip before having kids" and had a fabulous time! The condo was stocked with all the amenities we could have possibly needed...a BBQ, plenty of kitchen supplies, laundry services, the list goes on and on. We even spotted a crib and pack n play, which will come in handy when we come back and/or recommend this place to other family with children. Did I mention everything was in pristine condition? We traveled to Maui about six months prior to this trip, and spent on a 1 bedroom condo what this 2 bd condo cost. We were delighted at the amazing deal in Maui, so you can imagine our shock when finding this spot!! We enjoyed the pool nearly every day, and had many a lunch & dinner on our patio. I cannot recommend this spot more highly...while it isn't located directly on the beach, it was 10-15 minutes walking distance or 2-3 minutes driving distance from several beaches.

This was our first trip to Hawaii. I have been to many oceanfronts around the world and this rates at the top for the price. Ocean view with access to pool and spa nearby. Well kept condo just close to town with easy exit to Volcano or wherever else.We stayed for 10 days and I hope you can stay at least a week to get that hawaii vibe.

Absolutely perfect!
My family and I recently returned from our trip to the Big Island and we truly could not have asked for better accomodations during our stay. The location is perfect for short treks to the nearby beaches as well as stocking up at the marketplace. Everything (and more) is supplied in this condo. The snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach towels were much appreciated and used daily by our family. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals...the coffee grinder was an added plus for the two in our family who prefer whole bean coffee in the morning. The layout was perfect for us, we didn't feel cramped and everyone had plenty of space. Breakfasts on the lanai were a morning ritual...the view of the ocean is a reminder that you truly are in paradise! I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone visiting the Big Island!

Best kept secret!
My husband and I love to travel, but dislike large hotels in busy tourist areas. This condo was perfect for us. It was beautiful, new, spotless, with all the amenities, perched on a hill with an amazing view and great sunsets. We loved eating our meals at the outdoor patio table, swimming in the pool, and exercising in an uncrowded workout room. Best of all it was quiet, but easy to get to everything in a matter of minutes! We hated leaving and the next time we are in Hawaii, we definitely will return to the Na Hale O Keauhou a-5.

Wonderful 2 bedroom condo. Well furnished. Really nice pool and work out facilities. Well equipped with beach gear. Nice Weber BBQ. ( I have to get one now.) Very quiet surroundings. Nice sunsets. On site manager very helpful. Grocery shopping close by or only a short drive to Costco, Walmart, Safeway or Target in Kona. Best price for gas at Costco. We would have no hesitation going back.

This was a perfect townhouse for two couples to share. The website showed it off perfectly....I looked over it so many times and felt like I'd already been there. It did not disapoint. I was happy to see lots of towels and beach towels and everything else we needed. The location was great. The best thing to do would be to rent a vehicle but it is possible to do a lot without one. There is a shopping centre close by plus a trolley bus that goes into town. Kona is a terrific little town. I also heard the tour bus trip is great. There's lots of books and magazines about the island in the twnhse. The best one to use is one we had also brought with us..Big Island Revealed.(The blue book) Great reviews. I also appreciated the prompt email responses from the owner. A great holiday, just too short!

After 17 days in this beautiful condo it was hard to leave. It really felt like home! From the cozy living room to the fully stocked kitchen to the comfy bedrooms, it has everything one could desire in a vacation home. The BBQ on the lower lanai was handy for nightly grilling, and the upper lanai was a peaceful place to read a book, take an afternoon nap, and watch the Kona sunsets. It was also great to have access to the garage to store golf clubs, travel bags, etc. The only downside to this unit is a bit of "traffic" noise as the residents in the lower buildings leave for work in the mornings. It was a great excuse to get up and go for an early morning walk. It certainly wouldn't stop us from staying here again. We thoroughly enjoyed Nanealoa. Mahalo to Bob and Judy for sharing their wonderful condo.

I guess the title says it all....having stayed in J2 on three different occasions for a total of 13 weeks it really feels like home. The gift basket upon arrival is always much appreciated. One of my favourite places in the townhouse is the lanai off the master bedroom, a great place to read and relax on the comfortable chaises, also a wonderful place to appreciate the ocean view and the incredible sunsets. The outdoor patio furniture on the ground floor lanai is very comfortable too, a great place to have meals and make use of the BBQ. The proximity of the Keauhou shopping centre is very convenient, just a short walk and includes a supermarket, drug store, post office, several restaurants, movie theatre etc. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is also a good stock of supplies such as paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, ziploc and garbage bags etc. Having a remote on one of the house keys was very handy, thus avoiding the need to key in a code every time you enter the complex. The grounds are very well maintained and managed. Finally, the owner, Bob Blomberg is a pleasure to deal with, very accessible and always responds promptly when making contact with him. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Very clean - had everything that one could want. In fact, more than we needed. The snorkel beach was so close (about 10 min on foot), we didn't use the pool. Didn't use the BBQ either, but used the kitchen extensively (can't offer any advice on local restaurants). Nice view, especially from the master bedroom lanai. Convenient to the grocery store (walkable if you don't mind the hill). Fairly new, in great condition and well appointed. Some fairly minor disappointments: the bed was too hard for my taste; to get a good picture on the downstairs TV (from cable), you had to make sure that the DVD player was powered off; the crew that maintains the grounds does a good job, but be prepared for the "2 cycle (engine) symphony" 3 days during the week; some residents use their lanais for entering / exting their units, meaning there may well be foot traffic by your lanai (spooked the wife); the burnt wood smell from the fire up the mountain permeated the air every night. Overall, enjoyed my stay, would consider renting again.

My husband and I stayed in Unit J2 for 15 nights in October. The condo was absolutely wonderful, exactly like the pictures on the website - very tastefully decorated and fitted out with all the mod cons (it was like staying in a show home)! Thank you for the welcome basket on arrival. Cooking in the kitchen was such a pleasure - it had every utensil you could possibly want for. There were also beach chairs/boogie boards/snorkel equipment etc in the garage for use when visiting the beaches. Also, having laundry facilities inside the condo and a barbecue on the lanai was definitely a bonus. The gated complex was very quiet, which suited us. The pool area was beautiful and the grounds were very well maintained. It is situated very close, just a little way down the hill, from the Keauhou shopping centre where we used to go the KTA supermarket for our daily newspaper and groceries and which was very reasonably priced (for Hawaii)! Making reservations for Unit J2 via Aloha Condos was very simple and straightforward and handled efficiently by Bob and Judy(the owners). They were very helpful and emailed the guestbook which contained useful information on both the condo and the island, which assisted in the planning of our vacation. They also advised us on the best options when shopping for groceries, which we were very grateful for. In summary, our vacation at Unit J2 and the Na Hale O Keauhou complex was brilliant and we are hopefully looking to return again this year.

My husband and I stayed at the Hale Nanealoa townhome in September of 2006. Let me first preface this review that I am very picky about where I stay on vacations. I have stayed through the gamut of different types of accommodations in my life, from motel to luxury. As I get older, my pickiness has increased and I only like to stay at very nice properties. This property is up in the 5 star range and is one of the best where I have stayed. Everything was new and clean and stylish. There was NO white "cheesy" lawn furniture that I have seen at other Hawaiian properties, nor was there the wear and tear typically seen in other condos in Hawaii. The master bathroom is something you would only get at a five or six star hotel and it was very large. I have stayed on nearly all islands in the Hawaiian chain, and this place has been the best. The view was very nice and the pool quiet and relaxing. The grounds were also well maintained. Everything was upscale here. I very much appreciated the gift basket for our wedding anniversary after I was asked on their website if we were going for a special occasion. The owners were very professional and concerned that we had a good time and everything we needed. (This has not been the case at other Hawaiian properties that I have stayed). The price was excellent for the value of this vacation home. I highly recommend Hale Nanealoa.

I was amazed by how this condo had an "at home" feeling. The complex was secure, clean, and quiet. The condo is close to the pool, which may bother some visitors who want complete serenity. The owner of the condo was always available to get our questions answered before we arrived and had very detailed instructions on how to get to the condo, find keys, and rules of the complex. The views were spectacular from the upper and lower lanai. We were impressed with the quality of linens, towels, and kitchenware. The boogie boards, and snorkel gear were a plus! We felt the location was a perfect starting point and we were able to walk to many places. We spent 2 weeks at the Na Hale O Keauhou. When the time comes take another vacation to Kona, we will definitely want to rent this condo again!

Once again we enjoyed our recent stay in the J2 townhouse at Hale Nanealoa. We have now spent a total of 7 weeks there in the past 2 years, this should give you an idea of how comfortable we feel there. As before, the added touch of the 'welcome basket' was a lovely treat. The townhouse is well equipped and its proximity to local shopping is great. We really appreciated having the barbeque, which we used often. The chaises on the upstairs lanai are a great place to relax, read and enjoy the ocean view. I must also take time to mention the incredible sunsets which were such a treat each evening. I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends and family that they include staying here in their vacation plans on the Big Island. I look forward to my next visit, hopefully next year. Finally I'd like to say what a pleasure it is dealing with the owner, Bob Blomberg.

Enjoyed the farmer's market (outside the nearby grocery store) just up the hill (walked to that one!). It is a beautiful property located in a good area of town.

Our overall experience at Na Hale O Keauhou was fantastic. We stayed 9 nights and were sad to leave. Prior to our arrival, the owner of C-2, Tim Hendlin provided us with very clear driving instructions of how to get from the airport to the townhouse. When we arrived, waiting for us was a welcoming gift of macadamia nuts. A nice touch. The complex is very well maintained. The grounds were immaculate, the pool and area around were spotless, and the Weber BBQ was in good working order. Na Hale O Keauhou seems to be a well managed facility. Charlie, the maintenance guy was friendly and always was around when needed. The unit itself was great. Clean and spacious with all the comforts of home. The ocean view from the lanais was gorgeous. There wasn't anything we didn't like about the townhouse. Although a few minor issues - no hairdryer, minimal BBQ tools (could uses a metal spatula and longer tongs), garage remote didn't work. I would stay here again and would recommend it to my family and friends.

We've stayed several times near Kailua village at Kona-by-the-Sea and Royal Sea Cliff. This 2-story townhouse had more room, great ocean views on 2 lanai's, a pool with jaccuzzi, and nearby access to popular snorkling beach - at a much better price. Perfect for those who like to cook a few meals at home. Closest access to quality golf for those so inclined. Small shopping center with walking distance includes a full grocery, drug store, bar, a few restaurants, and a 6-screen movie theater. Even the skies were slightly better south of Kona in Keauhou: less vog creeps down from Hualalai mountain in the afternoons. Don't worry, there's still plenty of sun to tan your hide. If you want to dine out often in Kailua, plan to drive for 10 minutes on a highway instead of 3 on a busy street. Like with all townhomes, hotels, and condos, pray for quiet neighbors - like we had.

The kitchen is awesome with granite countertops and nice tile floors throughout the unit. The unit is very close to each other and many people had their windows open for the cool breeze. As a result, any conversations we had or our neighbors had we heard them all. Our lanai is about three feet from our neighbor kitchen. So when we dine in the lanai area, our neighbor can see us dining and we can hear them cookings. We wish for a little bit more privacy.

These units are great for families. There are spacious common areas for everyone to gather, and at the end of the day, each party can relax in their own private bedroom. The units are modern, comfortable, well-furnished, and well-maintained inside and out. There is wireless access so you can look up maps, restaurants, find things to do, etc. The location is great with a nice beach within walking distance, small strip mall just up the block (supermarket, restaurants), and larger malls (Costco, Walmart, Safeway) about 15 mins away. This is actually our 2nd time at the Na Hale O Keauhou complex (stayed in L4 in 2007), and I've recommended the resort to friends and family for all the above reasons. The booking process was simple and straightforward, with appropriate email confirmation and follow up. Specific feedback on unit A4: Pros - Bamboo floors are absolutely beautiful! - AC & fans worked well. We loved coming back to a cool home after a hot & humid day out. - King bed in 2nd bedroom (L4 had queen bed). - Ottomans as coffee table were great for a toddler learning to walk. - Making the gate/garage opener available was a very nice touch, so we didn't have to key in the code each time or open the garage door from the inside of the home. - Some snorkels, beach equipment, and coolers available for use - Easy walk to the pool - Well-stocked kitchen with all kinds of dinnerware, tools, small appliances, etc. - The right amount of supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, garbage bags, etc.) to last a family of 6 for a week Cons - Unit A is closest to the road. There's not much traffic so noise is imperceptible, but you can definitely *see* the road from the lanais. (See pics of the unit on website) - No BBQ on lanai. :( Because of the view of the road & no bbq on lanai, we did not eat outdoors. We really enjoyed eating outdoors when we stayed in L4. - Would have been great to have a couple more dishtowels (there were 2).

I am very happy our guest enjoyed the visit with his son; however the comment about the security deposit is factually incorrect.
The $250 security deposit was processed as a credit card authorization only. The checkout report was fine and no actual charges were processed.

Easy Access and Very Relaxing from Canyon, TX on 04/03/2009 said:
We stayed in this unit last fall and fell in love with the whole property. This unit was very nicely decorated and located at the top of a hill so we could see the water, watching ships anchor in the Kona bay, sail boats and kayaks stream across the water. A shopping center up the hill was nice for quick access to groceries, dining out, post office as well as watching a cat colony the community feeds. It's located on the south side of Kona on the main street, so you get a bit of head start going south to see the sights or can drive down the main street from the south having easy access to the public beach less than a mile away and the shops further north in town. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was great and the kitchen had plenty of dishes and serving pieces. We did entertain and the unit accommodated the event beautifully. The pool area was well maintained and we found ourselves the only ones in there early in the morning and evening. All in all the whole property was quiet and well maintained. It was nice to immerse ourselves in the Big Island on our terms and should we have the opportunity to return, we would definately check on availability of this unit or one like it.
