It was beautiful, new, spotless, with all the amenities, perched on a hill with an amazing view and great sunsets. We had only one minor concern reported with the downstairs toilet making a random whistling noise. The location of this unit is outstanding and the views are wonderful, especially at sunset. The owners even provided beach chairs and a boogie board that we made use of. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a place for their family to stay on the Big Island since it has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. ”

“ My husband & I traveled from Boise, id to meet our son, his wife and step-granddaughter, who traveled from anchorage, AK. This condo was absolutely ideal for us as it gave us older folks a very nice bedroom accommodation with our own bathroom & closet on the bottom floor. Our kids stayed in the master upstairs, while our 17 year old granddaughter occupied the other upstairs bedroom. Everyone had their own bathroom & that was outstanding. The condo has almost everything you could ask for. The washer/dryer were absolutely invaluable, the view from the lanai was awesome, wish we had brought our binoculars with us to see the whales better, beautiful sunsets every night, we cooked dinner in most nights & the kitchen has most everything you need, we all would have loved to have had an outdoor grill, but we did go all the way to the pool a couple of nights to use the grill there, but hard to keep the food hot doing that. We had a beautiful basket of goodies waiting upon our arrival from the owners, thank you so very much. Couldn't try the whole bean coffee in the basket as a grinder was needed & there was not one in the kitchen. Everyone was very responsive to our needs, from the cleaning man who was still working there when we arrived shortly after 3PM, to the man who helped get some replacement light bulbs in the bathroom & got the pest control man out promptly for some critter control. The garage is full of wonderful amenities for taking to the beach or the pool. Speaking of the pool, it was fantastic, it looked and smelled very fresh & clean along with the beautiful large hot tub, also smelling & looking very fresh & clean. Our kids also used the exercise equipment & thoroughly enjoyed the workout room. We all really loved this lovely home & its location which was so close to the shopping center with grocery store, Longs, several restaurants & of course right off alii Dr! ”

There's a very nice pool and hot spa with full kitchen, BBQ, and exercise room in the clubhouse. The complex is minutes away from the Keahou shopping center, and 5-10 minutes from historic Kailua and several beaches. All in all, an excellent value for the price. ”

The layout was perfect for our party of 5, which included two small children (ages 4 & 6), my husband and I, and my 81 year old mother. Having the ground floor bed/bathroom was perfect for her. Every room (including the closets!) had such a grand feeling and all the finishes were top-notch. The boogie boards/beach toys in the garage were a big plus as well. The grounds were lovely, the pool well-kept and the workout room perfect. Also, the location can't be beat. Having the shopping center nearby as well as a fabulous snorkeling beach made life a lot easier. I would highly recommend this unit! ”

It was fun to taste all the different things and we used the bag on every trip to the beach. The condo was everything that was said in the ad. There was a shopping center with a theater with-in walking distance. The teenagers in our party loved that! The home was very comfortable, and it included everything we needed for our stay.The washer & dryer was great to have so we could pack less and be able to laundry. The view from the lanai was breathtaking, it was a great spot for late afternoon mai tai's and to watch the sunset. It was very easy to make yourself feel at home and relax. I would gladly return for another stay! ”

“ 2nd time there. Maintenance was great. We had a small problem with the screen door sticking and they were there that day to fix it. We loved the split pool. It was great for families with small children. Close to grocery and drug stores and walking distance for adults to beach. Bedrooms, bathrooms, closets and living areas were all large and comfortable. The views from the unit were excellent. We never had to leave the lanai to see the sunsets (we did see the green flash one night!). The property is very peaceful and quiet. The pool, bar-b-que and workout facilities were located close by and were easy to use. In fact there were very few people using these facitlites so it did not even feel like we were sharing them. The beach was a short walk away as was the grocery store and other shops. This is a terrific location! This is a beautiful property and is the best of any property we have stayed at on the Big Island. Thank you! ”

“ We greatly enjoyed staying at this condo. It is nicely decorated, and it is very large and spacious for how much it costs; it really is a great value! The location is a little farther down ali'i, so it is not really close to the "strip," but I rather like it this way. When we got to the development, we were greeted by a retiree walking his dog. This makes me think the condo development is more calm and probably more family oriented. The location is very close to Long's Drugs and to the grocery store. There is really easy access to the highway also. When you walk into the door, there is an open kitchen on the left and the living room is in front of you. You can also see sliding doors, which open up to a lanai that has a nice view of the ocean. Usually in Hawaii, when they say ocean view, you're lucky to get a peek of a sliver of ocean, but that's not the case here. My parents stayed in the only downstairs bedroom, which has the queen bed because they do not like to climb stairs. My sister stayed in the master bedroom with her son because it has a garden tub in addition to a shower. (The kid likes to take baths.) I stayed in the room with the two twin beds. The place was very clean and comfortable. We caught up with the caretakers when we checked in, and they seemed to be doing a thorough job. Even the towels were soft and smelled good--something you don't seem to get from most hotels/motels. I would stay here again. It felt like home. The only complaint was from my mom who wished they had newer non-stick pans or a stainless steel pan to cook with. Also, make sure not to leave any dirty dishes in the dishwasher. It could attract bugs. ”

The kitchen is awesome with granite countertops and nice tile floors throughout the unit. The unit is very close to each other and many people had their windows open for the cool breeze. As a result, any conversations we had or our neighbors had we heard them all. Our lanai is about three feet from our neighbor kitchen. So when we dine in the lanai area, our neighbor can see us dining and we can hear them cookings. We wish for a little bit more privacy. ”

“ The website pictures looked wonderful but looks can be deceiving. Not in this case. It was like staying in a 5 star hotel without elevators. It felt homey and personal and someone obviously put a lot of thought into the details. The home was beautifully appointed and super clean. Our only mild disappointment was the outside patio which was sparsely furnished and without a barbecue. The close proximity to grocery shopping was an added bonus. We had a fun time and would recommend this condo highly. ”

“ We have 3 boys and 1 teen girl. This condo was perfect for us, because my daughter had her own room and felt like a princess. The condo had plenty of space and great conveniences for us. We cooked meals and had all of the necessary items like spices, pans, bowls, etc. We did our laundry there in the washer/dryer daily. We used the beach gear - snorkel, beach towels, and boogie boards. There were beach chairs, coolers, and umbrella too! There were 3 nice TVs for everyone to use with DVD players. Shopping was less than a mile away, and we rented movies in the Red Box at the drug store there. Restaurants were also closeby, and we were only about 20 minutes from the airport. We were close to all kinds of activities on alii Drive, and we ventured out further too to the volcano and black sand beach. We had a great experience in this condo, and we'd highly recommend this condo to anyone going to the Big Island. ”

I grew-up on the Big Island, and in the many years that my husband and I have visited my family there, this is our favorite complex. It is reasonably priced, clean, and very comfortable. We now have two young children, so we particularly enjoyed this unit, due to its family friendly nature with a cute bunk room, plenty of kids books, crayons, beach/pool stuff, etc.. We also cook in a lot and host family when we visit, and the house was comfortably laid out for entertaining, and the kitchen was well equipped. My 6'+ husband would have liked a king size bed in the master bedroom, and we had some problems with the remotes and DVD players. But, if those were our biggest complaints...we will certainly stay there again, and again! ”

“ We stayed in Na Hale Townhouse I-6 for 7 days. It was immaculately clean, stylishly decorated, well equipped and conveniently located. The community is gated with code entry. It is 1 minute to the Keauhou shopping center where you find grocery, drug store, restaurants, post office and, yes! urgent care. The home is well stocked with everything I can possibly need, incl. beach chairs, umbrella, diving boards, and children's books and games. The servie is first class, too. Booking online is smooth. The second day of our stay, we needed help with high speed internet. I made one phone call and Bruce was there within 10 minutes. All in all, this was a perfect vacation home. I highly recommend it to anybody who visits the Big Island. ”

When we arrived at the townhome there was a welcome basket of organic goodies for us to enjoy during our stay - a really nice personal touch. Our party was my partner and I and my elderly parents. We were previously staying in a so called 5 star resort in Maui, and the comfort and quality of this townhome beat it hands down. Everyone loved their stay in the townhome and the decor and furnishings are of a very high standard. The townhome was presented immaculately and was spotless and well equipped from the kitchen, wifi, through to all the gear needed for the beach which was a real bonus. The guest book was very informative and helped us plan our activities and dining out. We loved the fact that it felt like our home as soon as we entered. We didn't get to use the gym or pool but the pool certainly looked inviting. There is a shopping centre just 5 minutes walk away. It is not in the centre of Kona, but only 5-10 minutes drive away which is not a problem with a vehicle. I would not hesitate in recommending this accommodation to anyone and would certainly return one day! ”

We found a kitchen that was nicely furnished so that we could prepare meals- the unit itself is spacious, modern, and comfortable. We found it to be a bit noisy in the mornings-so if you want to sleep in, probably not your unit- but if like us, you are up early for the next adventure-it is not an issue. The unit comes with all you want inside-and is walking distance to market or beaches, and easy access for the main road to town or points south The reson we ended up staying at this unit versus another condo was the owner- He responded to our email request for info promptly--as a matter of fact, we never did get any reply from 2 other condos listed on line that we contacted. We hope to stay here again ! ”

“ I spent many hours researching lodging for our Hawaiian vacation. We weren't interested in hotels and Kona condos are a dime a dozen. When I found the Na Hale O Keauhou townhome J-2, I was curious. It looked good in the pictures and the price was right but would it live up to our expectations? I can honestly say that J-2 exceeded our every expectation. We arrived to a huge gift basket on the doorstep filled with local goodies. We opened the front door to find a beautifully appointed home with every amenity you could want. Two comfortable outdoor sitting areas provided the perfect place to watch the ocean and the sunset. The pool was only steps away and although shared with the community it was rarely busy and always inviting. And, although not located directly on the ocean the nearest beach, and best snorkeling on the island, is only a 10 minute walk (or 3-minute drive) down the road. To welcome their guests the Owners provided an excellent personal guide to the island including their recommendations on where to eat, snorkel, hike, etc. And their recommendations are spot on. We enjoyed excellent meals and wonderful beaches. And since they knew their guests would be spending time at the beach there was a selection of beach and snorkel gear to borrow along with a large stockpile of beach towels. I would classify this home as Luxury accommodations as we found it nicer than most 5-star hotels. Although the home is used by a continuous flow of guests it was exceptionally clean and left us feeling as if we had walked into a brand new model home. The only improvement I might suggest, and keep in mind this is a personal preference, is a king size bed. My hubby and I are both very tall people over 6-ft and a king size make all the difference. But we made do with some romantic cuddling in the very comfortable queen positioned with a view of the ocean. Our stay at J-2 was exceptional and I don't hesitate recommending it. We hope to return again soon ourselves. ”

The condo has a highchair, crib, pack-n-play and baby gate as well as beach toys for kids. The decor is very classy and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and in a great location. We took advantage of the free cultural events at the Keauhou Shopping Center just minutes away. We had a minor issue when we first arrived but it was taken care of immediately. Also, we forgot some items when we left so we contacted the owner and he arranged to have them sent to us asap. So, not only is the condo wonderful but so is the owner. We can't imagine staying anywhere else on our next trip to the Big Island. ”

We even spotted a crib and pack n play, which will come in handy when we come back and/or recommend this place to other family with children. Did I mention everything was in pristine condition? We traveled to Maui about six months prior to this trip, and spent on a 1 bedroom condo what this 2 bd condo cost. We were delighted at the amazing deal in Maui, so you can imagine our shock when finding this spot!! We enjoyed the pool nearly every day, and had many a lunch & dinner on our patio. I cannot recommend this spot more highly...while it isn't located directly on the beach, it was 10-15 minutes walking distance or 2-3 minutes driving distance from several beaches. ”

I was happy to see lots of towels and beach towels and everything else we needed. The location was great. The best thing to do would be to rent a vehicle but it is possible to do a lot without one. There is a shopping centre close by plus a trolley bus that goes into town. Kona is a terrific little town. I also heard the tour bus trip is great. There's lots of books and magazines about the island in the twnhse. The best one to use is one we had also brought with us..Big Island Revealed.(The blue book) Great reviews. I also appreciated the prompt email responses from the owner. A great holiday, just too short! ”

From the cozy living room to the fully stocked kitchen to the comfy bedrooms, it has everything one could desire in a vacation home. The BBQ on the lower lanai was handy for nightly grilling, and the upper lanai was a peaceful place to read a book, take an afternoon nap, and watch the Kona sunsets. It was also great to have access to the garage to store golf clubs, travel bags, etc. The only downside to this unit is a bit of "traffic" noise as the residents in the lower buildings leave for work in the mornings. It was a great excuse to get up and go for an early morning walk. It certainly wouldn't stop us from staying here again. We thoroughly enjoyed Nanealoa. “ I guess the title says it all....having stayed in J2 on three different occasions for a total of 13 weeks it really feels like home. The gift basket upon arrival is always much appreciated. One of my favourite places in the townhouse is the lanai off the master bedroom, a great place to read and relax on the comfortable chaises, also a wonderful place to appreciate the ocean view and the incredible sunsets. The outdoor patio furniture on the ground floor lanai is very comfortable too, a great place to have meals and make use of the BBQ. The proximity of the Keauhou shopping centre is very convenient, just a short walk and includes a supermarket, drug store, post office, several restaurants, movie theatre etc. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is also a good stock of supplies such as paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, ziploc and garbage bags etc. Having a remote on one of the house keys was very handy, thus avoiding the need to key in a code every time you enter the complex. The grounds are very well maintained and managed. Finally, the owner, Bob Blomberg is a pleasure to deal with, very accessible and always responds promptly when making contact with him. I'm looking forward to my next visit! ”

Didn't use the BBQ either, but used the kitchen extensively (can't offer any advice on local restaurants). Nice view, especially from the master bedroom lanai. Convenient to the grocery store (walkable if you don't mind the hill). Fairly new, in great condition and well appointed. Some fairly minor disappointments: the bed was too hard for my taste; to get a good picture on the downstairs TV (from cable), you had to make sure that the DVD player was powered off; the crew that maintains the grounds does a good job, but be prepared for the "2 cycle (engine) symphony" 3 days during the week; some residents use their lanais for entering / exting their units, meaning there may well be foot traffic by your lanai (spooked the wife); the burnt wood smell from the fire up the mountain permeated the air every night. Overall, enjoyed my stay, would consider renting again. ”

The condo was absolutely wonderful, exactly like the pictures on the website - very tastefully decorated and fitted out with all the mod cons (it was like staying in a show home)! Thank you for the welcome basket on arrival. Cooking in the kitchen was such a pleasure - it had every utensil you could possibly want for. There were also beach chairs/boogie boards/snorkel equipment etc in the garage for use when visiting the beaches. Also, having laundry facilities inside the condo and a barbecue on the lanai was definitely a bonus. The gated complex was very quiet, which suited us. The pool area was beautiful and the grounds were very well maintained. It is situated very close, just a little way down the hill, from the Keauhou shopping centre where we used to go the KTA supermarket for our daily newspaper and groceries and which was very reasonably priced (for Hawaii)! Making reservations for Unit J2 via Aloha Condos was very simple and straightforward and handled efficiently by Bob and Judy(the owners). They were very helpful and emailed the guestbook which contained useful information on both the condo and the island, which assisted in the planning of our vacation. They also advised us on the best options when shopping for groceries, which we were very grateful for. In summary, our vacation at Unit J2 and the Na Hale O Keauhou complex was brilliant and we are hopefully looking to return again this year. ”

“ My husband and I stayed at the Hale Nanealoa townhome in September of 2006. Let me first preface this review that I am very picky about where I stay on vacations. I have stayed through the gamut of different types of accommodations in my life, from motel to luxury. As I get older, my pickiness has increased and I only like to stay at very nice properties. This property is up in the 5 star range and is one of the best where I have stayed. Everything was new and clean and stylish. There was NO white "cheesy" lawn furniture that I have seen at other Hawaiian properties, nor was there the wear and tear typically seen in other condos in Hawaii. The master bathroom is something you would only get at a five or six star hotel and it was very large. I have stayed on nearly all islands in the Hawaiian chain, and this place has been the best. The view was very nice and the pool quiet and relaxing. The grounds were also well maintained. Everything was upscale here. I very much appreciated the gift basket for our wedding anniversary after I was asked on their website if we were going for a special occasion. The owners were very professional and concerned that we had a good time and everything we needed. (This has not been the case at other Hawaiian properties that I have stayed). The price was excellent for the value of this vacation home. I highly recommend Hale Nanealoa. ”

The townhouse is well equipped and its proximity to local shopping is great. We really appreciated having the barbeque, which we used often. The chaises on the upstairs lanai are a great place to relax, read and enjoy the ocean view. I must also take time to mention the incredible sunsets which were such a treat each evening. “ The condo was in a very nice location, close to shopping and a very good snorkel beach. However, the condo was in pretty poor condition when we arrived. First, the condo was overrun with sugar ants due to a container of sugar left on the counter. Even after Terminex came we still had a significant amount of ants throughout the condo. Also, the sliding glass door latch in the living room was broken and would never lock and one side of the blinds on the sliding glass door was broken. The vents and fans were covered in a thick layer of dust so bad that we couldn't keep them on because of all the dust that filled the room. In addition, the refrigerator door handle came off, which we fixed, and the upstairs master bedroom toilet was broken when we arrived, which we also fixed. The toilet in the second bathroom upstairs also constantly ran throughout our stay. ”

“ Having rented both houses and condos up and down the Kona Coast during the past 10 years, we found L-6 at Na Hale O Keauhou as the best, bar none, overall. The 3 bedroom unit is exceedingly spacious, exceptionally clean and was perfect for our group of 5. The location is ideal, being a very short drive or pleasant walk to fine snorkeling at Keauhou Bay and situated seconds from the modern Keauhou Shopping Center with its outstanding farmers market, Kona Stories Bookstore and IGa supermarket. Not to mention Sam Choy's restaurant just above the complex. There are a lot of units for rent at Na Hale O Keauhou but we were happy that we choose L-6 as it has uninterrupted vies of the ocean and landscaping, a number of other units look over roads or parking lots. The pool is also a minutes walk away up a small hill. Everything a family could need is provided in this new unit: We took the boogie boards and towels out everyday and grilled several nights on the lanai. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and bathrooms hotel-like. Everything here works. We will absolutely be back. We stayed during 'Spring Break' just after Easter yet the value was still amazing, frankly, the owners should charge more. The only concern during our entire week-long stay was the rather fastidious and particular older neighbor who reminded us frequently to strictly abide by the condo rules: no towels on lanai, no noise before 8am, etc. As long as you don't plan on any wild parties or late nights, you'll be fine. We will certainly be back, hopefully many times. ”

The property is located in a gated community on the hillside overlooking Kona with easy access to the main highway, and provides great views of the ocean from the lanai. The grounds are quiet, well kept, and include a pool and fitness centre. The unit itself is a spacious 3 bedroom/3bathroom town home of recent construction that has been very well maintained, and has a fully functional modern kitchen. We appreciated the guestbook which provided detailed information on the unit as well local shopping and restaurants. Useful items such as beach towels and chairs were also available. We have rented several houses over the last few years in different hawaiian islands and this has been the best experience so far. ”

“ 14 members of my extended family decided to spend Christmas week on the big island of Hawaii. We booked 3 condos in the complex, with 5 of us (including me) in this unit. We booked through Vrbo which I found through Tripadvisor (my most favorite travel website). It was very easy to book, and the management was wonderful to work with from the beginning, through completing the booking, arriving in Hawaii and following up afterwards. The unit configurations differ somewhat throughout the complex. This united worked well for my family because it had a separate large bedroom and private bath downstairs, with 2 other bedrooms (each with private bath) upstairs. The location of this condo was very good -- a short walk to the excellent pool and jacuzzi. And the complex is a short walk to the beach and to a shopping complex that has several excellent restaurants. This condo was immaculately clean when we arrive and really well equipped. We cooked several meals at home and found all the pans, utensils, dishes, etc. that we needed. I highly recommend this management company, this complex and this unit in particular. ”

Gated facility provided an additional level of comfort and property manager checked several times to make sure everything was okay. Neighbors in L-5 are nice and we enjoyed visiting with them, but she criticized several of the younger people at the pool for being to noisey (not that bad). She tends to view the Na Hale O Keauhou as a retirement community versus vacation destination. ”

The unit is spacious, comfortable, well appointed, and beautiful. The service was superb: Brand new fridge quit cooling; Alan had it fixed in less than 24 hours. We ran out of propane; Alan brought a replacement promptly. We loved the walkability - groceries, mall, state park, bus stop. There was no noise from alii Drive. We used and appreciated the beach equipment, all in working order. We enjoyed daily dips in the large, well-maintained pool and hot tub. The evening view, the quiet, and the landscaping all insured a wonderful stay. We recommend L6 with no reservations. ”

It has everything you need for a great vacation in Hawaii , right down to the boogy boards, and beach towels for the beach. Located just far enough away from the all the hussle and bustle of the boardwalk , and yet close enough to a great little shopping center with all the amenities, and great restaurants you would need . The pool area in the complex is very clean , and well maintained .the owner (Kris was very helpfull, and went above , and beyond when it came to suggesting great places to go , and things to do.We ended up requireing a late check out because our flight didn't leave until 9:30 in the evening , and after chatting with Kris , this was not a problem at all. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the condo. It was comfortably decorated and fully stocked with anything we could need. (We love the reclining orange chairs in the living room!) The property is less than 5 minutes walking to a major shopping center, including restaurants, drug store, urgent care, and the us Post Office. We were a ten minute walk to the beach. The location was really great! We watched many beautiful Kona sunsets and enjoyed many breakfasts from the lanai. The grass area outside was perfect for our daughter to run and play, while we sat on the lanai. We have already recommended this condo to family that lives on the island. They came to have dinner with us and were so impressed by how clean, comfortable and how much it felt like home. This condo really lends to entertaining. I cannot say enough good things about Kris and the condo. We will be back! ”

“ The unit was perfect for us, with 3 ensuite bedrooms for our 3 couples. The kitchen and other shared rooms accommodated us easily, and we could meet or go our separate ways with ease. We ate together on the lanai, looking out at the gorgeous Kona waters. The Keauhou shopping centre supplied most of our needs, often by strolling up to it as necessary. The best fish-watching beach in Kona was only a 10-minute walk away (parking there is sometimes difficult.) A couple of the rules of the condo puzzled us, such as not being allowed to dry our swimming gear on the lanai. Some of the furniture was not very comfortable for us oldsters. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in unit M-1. ”

“ We rented this rental for the barbeques and comfort of 8 people. Unfortunately there was no barbeque at the rental had to go to the pool for that. The tank ran out the second week we were there and had to throw everything in the oven as no mgr on site. Very inconvenient. The sofa had so many feathers coming out it was unsanitary. The worst part of this rental was the beds. We were promised two doubles which was what we needed. One of them turned out to be a futon which my 79 year old mother ended up getting. The top of bed slipped to the side one way or another and was very uncomfortable. Needless to say my children ended up sleeping on the sofa and or floor so that grandma could get the better bed and stop complaining. Very stressful for the whole family. Very disappointing. ”

“ Na Hale is a community with private Town homes. There is an on-site manager that has daytime hours with an office next to the pool, Jacuzzi and BBQ common area. Our home has its own private manager available for emergencies. His contact information is posted in our home.
Our home offers sleeping accommodations for 8 people as stated in our description. The upstairs master bed room and second bedroom each have king size beds. The third bedroom, downstairs, has 2 queen bed (not the smaller double beds). We set up our rooms this way to comfortably accommodate a family up to 8 people. More than 8 guest are not allowed, and would mean quests sleeping on sofas and floors. Our sofa in the living room is a Down Feather filled sofa and chaise. It does lose feathers occasionally. It is a sofa and not meant for sleeping quests. We are very proud of our home in Kona, as it is our home as well, not just a rental. We have tried our best to create a welcoming and relaxing environment for all. We wish you the best in the future.

Six adults fit very comfortably in this spacious, nicely decorated unit and it was very clean. I was particularly pleased to have actual china, and a glass lemonade dispenser in the kitchen as we held a small reception at the condo following a wedding vow renewal ceremony for our 25th anniversary. Check-in and check-out were very smooth, and ample supplies of towels, soaps and trash bags were available. I will recommend this unit to our friends for those times we wish to travel together. The townhome was perfect for us and is in a beautiful area with the pool and barbecue area very close to us and every morning and night able to wake up looking out our lanai to see the ocean and sunset. The townhome also was decorated wonderfully and was great having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms since they were 7 of us. We were very close to most everything we needed - groceries, snorkeling, church and downtown. When we did travel to see more of the Island it was so beautiful along the way, we did not mind the length of time it took to get there. “ We rented and came back again this year, as our previous stay was so memorable. First I must say the the location, quiet neighbourhood and close proximity to the grocery store still is a great reason to stay. The unit is exactly as pictured and accomodates any family easily. Our biggest disappointment and huge issue was the general tideness/cleanthiness of the unit when we arrived. The showers/bathrooms were spotty and not clean and the bedding on the beds dirty and smelled like "B.O." I did contact someone, but did not get a reply or call until our maid was due mid week and by this time had cleaned and washed all the bedding myself. In addition, all the wonderful beach stuff that was part of our rental last year, gone!! We ended up purchasing and leaving behind 4 body boards/snorkle masks/beach umbrella and many other things. Along with this, the owners have put a "lock" on the downstairs closet making anyone with luggage or clothing, have to walk upstairs and intrude on other rooms for storage and to hang clothes. Overall, the townhouse has a beautiful view and security for those looking for a safe place to stay. I think the owners need to look at why they are renting and how the changes they have made impact both the experience and comfort. Overall, I would recommend but be aware that if you have issues, they probably will not get addressed. ”

“ Overall this was a very nice condo with plenty of room in a great location off of Alii drive. We really liked the proximity to the beach, downtown Kona, and the shopping center. The amenities in the condo facility including the pool and workout room were also very nice. The only complaint was that the initial cleanliness of the condo was not good. In particular three out of the four beds in the condo had large hair balls in the sheets, almost like they hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival, or not cleaned very well. ”

“ This amazing condo was "everything" the owner stated. This unit is one of the few in this complex, that has a beautiful view of the ocean, along with close access to the pool/BBQ area. We found it to be very clean, the owner easy to correspond and talk to and the location safe, secure and quiet. The drive from the airport was both non-stressful and directions to easy to follow. The best part.... was the location of a grocery store, post office and drug store right behind, making it easy for grocery shopping or last minute meal planning. Our family (which included our young/adult children) quickly found the best snorkling was just 1 mile down the road, with the "tourist" area of Kona just beyond. We felt that there was nothing we could have needed, even for the beach, and suggest that you really "only" need clothes. We never ran out of towels or bedding, and loved the laundry room on the main floor. Any large family would love this condo as the owner has provided for all ages and all needs, right down to the extra air beds for parents that want their little ones close and DVD movies for all ages. The free internet allowed us to sit on the lanai and plan our days while we drank our morning coffee atching the sun come up. The location is close to the major highway making any activity, coffee farm tour or tourist attraction easy to find. We went to relax and enjoy the sun, away from the hotel type of stay.. and were not dissappointed. This condo is great value for your money and truly a "HOME away from HOME" ”

“ This is a wonderfully appointed unit loaded with every amenity possible. If you are looking for resort complete with an events coordinator, pool side bar etc. consider elsewhere as the complex has a residential feel great for those looking for peace and quiet. One small annoyance is that the hot tub is prone to frequent outages due to children playing with the shut off control. Bottom line if you are looking for a place to park and relax in the Kona district you cannot go wrong with this rental unit . Please note if your vacation plans include extensive trips to the north, east or south island attractions the commute times from the Kona district will eventually wear you out. Last -Aloha Condos were great to deal with and I would highly recommend others to their rental web site. ”

We had stayed in this condominium complex years ago and loved it and decided to rent another one. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I slept better than I have in years. The condo complex has a pool, which was not crowded, hot tub, kids pool, BBQ area and gym which we used every day. It had everything we needed to feel like we were home. It had the basics you need when you are on vacation, towels, beach items, reusable grocery bags, etc. Dream vacation for us. ”

“ Na Hale O Keauhou (The House of New Beginnings)---Really enjoyed this place. We had unit M-4 for a month and C-2 for seven days (There were ten of us for a while so we needed more than one unit, including two children [8 &10] ). Have been to the Hawaiian Islands dozens of times over the last 43 years. M-4 is the nicest condo we have ever experienced, tastefully furnished and finished. This clean unit has a huge living room area (approx. 570 sq. ft), plus a pretty large fully equipped kitchen, 2.5 baths and three upstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom has a very large walk in closet with a huge connected bathroom, two sinks, walk in shower (separate from tub), a tub, a linen closet is located in the large upstairs vestibule. Also, a single car garage (owners allow guests to use the garage but not for vehicles). M-4 is about as quiet/private a condo as one well find. Panoramic views of the ocean from either of the two lanais (The living room lanai is almost 200 sq.ft). Two bedrooms have access to one large lanai on the second floor. Three big cable TVs, free HS Internet, DVD, lanai BBQ grill, etc. The complex is situated so all units have a view of the ocean, some, like M-4, are super. Best sunset views you can imagine from just about anywhere in the complex. It is not directly on the beach as the beach in front is lava rock, but it is up the hill a ways so that it overlooks palm trees and the ocean. It is on the Kona Coast not far from the Captain Cook monument. Ancient Hawaiian sacred grounds account for dozens of acres between the complex and the ocean, meaning no developments to mar the natural beauty, now or in the future. Matter of fact, about a mile to the northwest and on the beach is the old seven story Outrigger Hotel which will soon be demolished and the site turned into a Hawaiian cultural estate. So, even better unrestricted views. Keauhou is a clean and safe neighborhood. One can stroll or run for miles while enjoying beautiful vistas. ”

We were welcomed with a basket of ripe local fruits, biscuits and chocolates by the property manager and he filled us in on anything we might need to know, plus his contact numbers. The townhome overlooks a garden and a park strip, on a high promontory well above the resort below & across the street - and the ocean is just beyond. The view from the ground floor lanai is edge-to-edge ocean and palm trees. We watched many sunsets and had the rare privilege of experiencing the legendary 'green flash' one evening. The townhome is complete - just add food. There were so many extras, we had little to do but unpack our bags, pull on our bathing suits and go for a swim. Kona is paradise! The townhome is in easy walking distance of the Keahou Shopping Center, which has all the basic services and includes a theater and Thai restaurant. Kahalu'u Beach Park is a scant 15 minute walk away and is a safe and spectacular beach to experience snorkelling - so many species of fish and even some sea turtles (try to not touch - they're wild creatures). The 3 bedrooms are clean & bright - 2 access the upstairs lanai which has even more spectacular views than the main floor. The kitchen is spacious, well-maintained, clean and complete. The 2 1/2 bathrooms are clean and bright. The master bathroom has a big shower and jacuzzi tub in the ensuite, and a walk-in closet. The only limitation I can speak of - the king bed in the master bedroom is lumpy and hard. All other beds were very comfortable - a queen in the 2nd bedroom and 2 single beds in the 3rd bedroom. I would stay in this townhome again - in a heartbeat. It's lovely,and it's in the middle of paradise - the vacation was magic and this home is part of that. ”

We have family in Kona and I was able to host a 12 person sit down dinner without a hitch. Everything needed for cooking and entertaining a group this large was there. Our group of 5 found everything in the M-4 townhouse that we needed to live comfortably during our time there. When we went to the beach the towels, chairs, ice chest and beach toys were found in the garage. This place is quite and the sunsets on the Lanai are just beautiful. I have no hesitation recommending a stay in the M-4 townhouse and I hope to return here again myself someday. Do make it up the hill to Sam Choy's for a meal, the food and view's there are fabulous. ”

We immediately felt at home. The condo had everything we needed to live comfortably to the 10 days we were there. The location was incredible. Close to the heart of Kona; the beaches, shops, running trails, golf course and restaurants yet removed and quiet. The patio was a perfect place to BBQ, sit back and watch the sunset over the water every evening. There is a great pool/hot tub and work out room within a 1 minute walk.
