Dream vacation
The room and location were nice. This is the first time I stayed in a Condo and I enjoyed the experience. I liked not worrying about when housekeeping needed to get in to the room. I enjoyed having the kitchen especially for breakfast. we loved sitting out on the balcony feeling the wonderful breeze in the morinings as well as in the evenings. From there you are on Waikiki beach and have access to all the surfing and shopping within a few minutes walk. I would definately recommend a stay at this Condo!

Comfort & Convenience with a Gorgeous View!
My spouse, 2 year old son and I stayed in this condo for a full week and it was perfect for us! Definitely large enough for a family of 3. We were very happy as soon as we walked into to find the sweeping views across the Marina/Ocean and the clean/spacious condo! As others have stated the condo is stocked with kitchen supplies, books about Oahu, beach towels, sand toys, boogie board,etc... The updated bathroom was great and also, the king sized bed was very comfortable! The reservations, check in, check out, etc was effortless! Definitely recommend this condo for those looking to stay very near, but not in Waikiki! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great place....well priced
We found Condo 1785 excellent. The booking process via Aloha Condo's website was quick and easy and the email communication via Chuck was excellent every step of the way, from telling us when payments are being taken and providing the joining instructions, to answering any ad-hoc questions as soon as they were sent. The condo itself was very clean and well kept with everything you need. The main room is large and the condo has a full kitchen, cooker / fridge etc with a clean bathroom. The entire building was fairly modern and well kept. Its a 5 minute walk to the closest beach (next to the Hilton) and a 15 minute walk to Waikiki beach and all the amenities, shops and restaurants found there. Closer to the condo are a number of restaurants and bars, the Ala Moana shopping centre is a 5 minute walk, and an ABC store is over the road. The only critisism we had is there wasn't a grocery store or supermarket near to the condo (we didnt really look too hard) and there is some street noise from the balcony even when the doors were closed but this really was not a problem. Stopping here is a fraction of the cost of the hotels close by and you have the option of cooking meals rather then eating out. Its only 5-15 minutes away from everything you need which for us made it exceptional value for money without offering dirty, cheap and nasty accommodation. I would reccommend this condo to everyone!

Best Location You Could ask For!
The unit exceeded my expectations...not new but well maintained and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the view was spectacular! Fortuantely I was there during a full moon and the moon over the ocean and the lights in the Marina below was something like you would see on a postcard. The location was perfect. Very central to everything. I didn't have a car so I avoided the $17/day parking charge by using the city bus and trolley system. You can get everywhere you want to go on the island for a very minimal fee. Went to Pearl Harbor for $2.50. The Fireworks at the Hilton on Friday night were spectacular. Traveling alone I felt very safe with the security guard on duty down stairs. Kat is my hero. She made my first trip to Hawaii the best experience I could have ever hoped for from answering all my questions promptly via e-mail before I booked the room to calling me after I arrived to make sure I had everything I needed. Kat! You're the best!

Thank you for your response, notlim2. Please note that all of our furniture with the exception of the end tables are less than two years old; we completely refurnished recently with high end, Hawaiian style furniture.....so although the furniture style is modern Hawaiian/Wicker, to call it 'old fashioned' is a bit of a misnomer.

In late February, we stayed a week in unit 1182 at the Ilikai Marina Condos. We enjoyed a gorgeous view over the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Ala Moana Beach Park, and the Pacific Ocean. The condo is located on the quiet end of the Waikiki area, but within walking distance to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and the central part of Waikiki. There are also several lovely, sandy beaches to choose from, which are a few minutes walk away form the condo. Unit 1182 is comfortable and very well equipped and furnished. The kitchen contained everything we needed when we prepared meals, enjoying our own ocean-view dining area and lanai. There was a slight problem with a leaky pipe when we arrived, but it was taken care of very quickly by the Aloha Condos team. The condo building watchmen were also very helpful when we had questions. We had a great time while staying in 1182 and would definitely book this condo again for a future holiday.

We enjoyed staying in this well kept and tastefully furnished condo in a near perfect location. We particularly enjoyed the harbor and sunset view, the Friday night fireworks and the easy access to Honolulu and Waikiki. The Ilikai Marina is a 5 minute walk along the harbor to the beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the rest of Waikiki beach. Nice for both walking and swimming. Our only wish for a relatively long stay would be some more self-help equipment for cleaning.

The condo was just as shown on the website. Amazing views, neat and tidy. We had a great stay. A recommendation is maybe a guide/guest book in the room. We thankyou for the early checkin after a long flight. One thing I have to mention is that upon arrival the bed sheets had big brown dirt marks on them, they were clean but it looked like they were stained during washing. We used the spare set provided. Everything else was perfect!
Manager response:
Thanks very much tk1, for your comments! Regarding the stained sheets, we're very sorry for your inconvenience. We've since retired one set of sheets, purchased another, and are paying strict attention to their care and cleaning. We've also placed a guest book in the condo - thanks for the great recommendation!

This condo has it all. Well maintained, well stocked, well furnished, and well suited for a family of 4. We really appreciated all the accommodations and amenities. The kitchen, utensils, appliances, plumbing, carpet, and furniture were all in top shape. You can't imagine how relaxing a vacation can be when you don't have to worry about household things going wrong. The location is excellent. Walking distance to Ala Moana shopping center and convenient route to bypass the heart of Waikiki. And don't miss the Friday night fireworks over at the lagoon. Also, very important, the internet worked! What a relief to be able to "google" our itinerary, finish up some overdue work, and complete a "last minute emergency" online exam. The only negative was the proximity to Yacht Harbor Towers (which was under renovation). It was rather noisy during the day, but, if you're out during the day, as you should be while on vacation, the construction was not a problem. We will definitely stay here again. Mahalo and Aloha!

Our first visit back in 10 years. This apt. was well furnished - new furniture and bed very comfortable. Kitchen was adequate for our needs since we ate out most of the time. Bathroom needs to be updated - especially the shower doors. Lovely view from the patio and we found the bldg to be well looked after with 24 hour security. I did read that someone had a problem with noise from the restaurant below, however although it was busy the whole time we were there we were never once disturbed by noise from the restaurant. I would not hesitate to recommend this apt. to other visitors.
Manager response:
Janet, many thanks for your comments! Your suggestion that we update the bathroom was spot-on. We're happy to announce that we've recently completed our major bathroom remodel. We've expanded the room, and have completely renovated it with top end materials. It now has beautiful tiling and slab granite throughout, a new cherrywood vanity with expanded counter space, as well as modern fixtures and improved lighting. Look for updated pictures and a revised floor plan on our website in early 2010. We're really excited about this renovation, and are confident that our guests will really enjoy their stay, now more than ever.

Just as the online pictures promised: a spacious, well-appointed and nicely decorated unit with a fabulous view of the Yacht Harbor and Magic Island. Our 3-yo daughter loved the pull-out bed and we enjoyed being able to retreat to the bedroom. The bed was luxurious and fresh. We can't recall the last time we slept so well. Although there is nightlife along the marina, the unit is high up enough so it is quiet. The bathroom had plenty of towels and the housekeeping crew does a great job. There are even spare towels and a couple of folding chairs for the beach. There are laundry facilities on site. The kitchen has everything and there is enough space to make pretty good meals and enjoy them. The dishes and utensils were good quality and the appliances worked well. The unit has free wireless Internet and it was not hard to set up: there is a cheat sheet that has all of the log-in info. The building is located near the HHV lagoon (renovated in 2008) and it was a short walk to the lagoon and the adjoining beach. We were in the water every day and our 3-yo could walk each way. The Chart House, located off the lobby, has nice atmosphere and great food and service. There is a casual pizza place around the corner that has a friendly bar. There are several other dining options within a block of the building. If you are renting a car, there is convenient covered parking in the building. You can sign up for a monthly pass at the booth if you are staying more than 10 days (cheaper that way and no tickets to lose). We'll be back. What a find this was.

We were told there was a pool.......Not! There was too much kitchen for us. All we needed was a coffee pot, microwave, and fridge. The beach chairs were heavy as lead and as soon as we got to the Hale Koa beach we rented chaise lounges, umbrella, ice bucket with water. And still had to lug the heavy chairs back to the car. The manager told us there had not been a pool access for two years. I believe part of what we paid was for access to a pool. Cooking smells permeated the hall. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. The other furniture was some of the most uncomfortable we've ever tried to relax on. No, we would not stay in 1182 again or recommend it to anyone. It was overpriced for what we had.
Manager response:
Dear Mr and Mrs Jellison,
We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay. Please know that we've recently upgraded our condo with a beautiful new sleeper sofa, which has a very comfortable (and extra thick) queen size mattress.
We've also upgraded our kitchen supplies, and installed a living room stereo with iPod capability. New lightweight beach chairs will arrive within a week, to replace the older, heavier chairs.
Thanks very much again for your comments - We really want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible!

Beach towls and umbrella were a plus. Bathrooom remodel, impressive. The location was great, the condo was adequate. They definitely need a new sofabed, it was very old and uncomfortable. The main problem we had was the street noise, coming from the bar below and the garbage trucks very early in the mornings. The building is quite old and could use some updating.Seeing cockroaches when we came out of the stairwell on the main floor was rather gross, considering that is where the restaurants are located. We would likely stay there again, perhaps on a higher floor.
Manager response:
The Ilikai Marina is in fact a quiet location. There is only a single lane access road separating the building from the beautiful Marina. The garbage truck comes and goes in the morning. If one is super-sensitive to sound the easiest way to avoid the truck noise is to shut the lanai door in the living room for that period of time. The bedroom is completely quiet if you shut the sliding door separating it from the living room. As the building is concrete construction there is no noise transfer between the units.
For sleeping the sofa bed is not as comfortable as the King size Simmons Beautyrest bed in the bedroom. However as sofa beds go it is extremely comfortable as a day time sofa. Extra foam has been added to make it more comfortable for a good night's rest.
The Ilikai Marina is always kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The ground floor has attractive landscaping, and is completely open to the outside, which is one of its charms. The building is treated for insects on a regular basis.

At first sight the suite looked great, comfortable and clean. Then we found some small bugs racing around the kitchen counter the next day. A couple of days later we saw a cockroach on the kitchen wall. We told the manager of the building and she gave us some bug traps which did nothing to get rid of them. We decided we would just avoid the kitchen and not let these critters spoil our vacation. After we came home we sent photos which we had taken of those bugs to the person/company that we had corresponded with to secure the rental suite. No real apologies came back. My advise to to find out if they did anything to the bug problem since November of 2007.
Manager response:
The condo is now under new ownership and management.
In the summer of 2009, the condo was completely renovated with all new furniture, new flooring, a new kitchen and a new bathroom.
There has not been any evidence or reports of bugs this year (2009).

Waikiki beach area is walking distance, shops are walking distance. This is just a great little place to stay if you do not want to stay in a hotel or you want to save a little money. The unit is a bit outdated but clean, comfy and nothing was broken. You will find everything in the kitchen what you need for cooking. First of all, the booking and instructions for accessing the condo were excellent. The location is great and the condo was clean. The issues we had are small and relate to the unit needing a bit of money spent on it to make it excellent. The TV had been replaced with a flat screen, but it is only about a 20" widescreen, pretty small. One towel bar in the bathroom was missing and the shower curtain was falling apart. The kitchen has been reno'd, but it was a cheapo job with the cabinets being installed so high the you need to get on a stool to reach the second shelf, let alone the third one. The ceramic tiles on the kitchen floor are chipped and the carpet in the rest of the unit (along with the drapes and the hokey old silk flowers) all need to be scrapped. Also, the rollers on the sliding door to the balcony and its lock are worn out making the door very difficult to open and impossible to secure. It also bangs and whistles when the wind is strong. The unit includes towels and a face cloth, but they are so old and thin that we bought some new ones. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again, but it take a fairly small amount of attention and expenditure on this condo to make it the one that we would seek out for our next stay.
Manager response:
Dear Wayne:
Thanks for the review, and suggestions.
I am buying new bath towels, face cloths, fixing the towel bar, shower curtain, balcony door lock.
Hope it will give you a better experience for your next stay. Thanks for staying in my condo.

Drapes black out room quite well. The condo had plenty of items some condos do not have such as: Coffee Filters, Sugar, Paper towels, toilet paper, salt etc. It could be that the previous guest left some of the items. Great little kitchen to make coffee every morning. Huge Frig. Great to have a dining table in the room. TV had many channels. The view of the City/Mountains is very panaromic. Location to Resturants and ABC store is only 1 or 2 blocks away. The room is quiet, except for the first night when one of the neighbors was in late and loud with shutting their lanai door which really shakes up the wall. We got the room when there was a special rate, so all in all much better, bigger room than a Hotel in the same price range.

We reallly enjoyed your clean condo in the Yacht Harbor area. From obtaining groceries, eating out, catching the bus or strolling the beach and docks your location can't be beat. Thanks for sharing! The building is clean and quiet and the residents are friendly. Sorry to see that the Ilikai Hotel is stalled in the renovation process. We had been there 30 years ago! However, the lagoon area is completely updated and the beautiful sunsets are still there.

We had a great stay at Ilikai Marina #1590. This is a great ocean-facing condo. A bit far away from the action of Waikiki beach but pretty close to the family oriented activities in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Service was impeccable with a local representative - Kat - who stays on the island. she can take care of all your needs right away. We had a late flight and Kat graciously extended our check-out time. With two small kids, that was a life saver. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

We were hoping that the pictures of the unit were what the unit actually looked like and boy were we happy when we arrived. Although the condo is not new, it was very clean and well maintained. The lanai is small but the view was fantastic! We watched the waves in the morning over breakfast while we planned our day and saw the beautiful sunsets in the evening. The fireworks display at the Hilton was great. Just grab a cooler and step out on the lanai and watch the show. The location is excellent, right by the beach. Shops and restaurants are less than 5 min walk.We had requested a late check-out, which is a nice option, but even with that we would have to sit at the airport for hours. I phoned our local contact person, Kathaleen and asked if we could possibly leave our bags at the unit or where we could pay to leave the bags. To our great pleasure Kathaleen informed us that the unit was not booked for the day and we could use the condo until we had to leave. Wow! Kathaleen you rock! We had a fantastic time time at the Ilikai Marina. Aloha,

I ended up in Honolulu by myself with family members staying at a hotel on the strip. I felt my accommodations were far better than theirs, and for about the same price. I had a gorgeous view of the Gilligan's Island marina, they had a view of the roof of an adjoining building. They were smack in the middle of the touristy area, I could get to it and away from it at will, which I loved. The staff at aloha Condos could not have been more helpful and bent over backward to take care of me. Also, you are right next to the Hilton Complex, which is huge, and easy to access. You can use their stores and restaurants, and their beach, and no one bothers you. It is kind of fun to watch all of the weddings that constantly go on during the weekends. The closest Starbucks is also over there. Proximity to their grounds more than made up for the condo not really having much of a lobby area...and they have fireworks on Friday evening which are really close to this condo. A couple of hints. Don't rent a car and don't use the cheesy tourist trolley: it is way overpriced! Also, you'll spend all of your time trying to find parking in the Waikiki area. The city bus is easy to use, especially if you have Google maps on a PDa. Each trip is $2.25, and if you make them give you a voucher for the return trip then that is for free. $17 a pop to keep a car overnight seemed high, and aloha Condos makes sure that everyone understands that cost. You can rent a car in three separate places near the condos if you want to tour the island for a single day or two. Don't take it into the downtown areas at night...oh, and they have a guard on duty at the harbor condos every single night. I really appreciated that! Felt safe everywhere but downtown Honolulu (not the tourist strip, but over where the government buildings are) in the evening, even though it was still light out (had a function I had to attend).

I did a lot of research before deciding on the Ilikai Marina and it is in my opinion a complete bargain. Kat Petron, the rental agent was wonderful and answered all questions and concerns expeditiously. She even honoured my special request at no additional charge. The condo was more spacious than I have imagined and I felt totally at home. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment was very very clean and tidy. What I like most about the condo, is of course the spectacular view. I could spend hours just sitting on the lanai taking in the view of the marina and Waikiki over a glass or red wine. In fact, the first thing I did every morning was to eat breakfast on the lanai. The sunrise and sunset were wonderful and I have never seen so many rainbows in my life! Being a corner apartment, I did not have to worry about noise from the neighbours. On some nights I slept with the windows totally opened and enjoyed the night breeze from the ocean. Truly an unforgettable experience. In fact, I could not believe how lucky I was to be in that location, with the lagoon and marina right in front of me. If I must come up with improvements for the condo, they would be minor. I would have liked more soap in the bathroom. One bar of soap for two people is a little insufficient. The wifi did not work although it was easily remedied with the Ethernet cable provided. The cable tv was a disappointment since the reception would be intermittent. Of course, no one goes to Hawaii to watch TV so that was a very minor inconvenience. In terms of noise, daily garbage pickup early in the morning is a nuisance, but I rather have the pickup service than to have to smell the stale garbage. Lovelorn couples making noise outside on the street in front of the marina and the noise of other lovers making passionate love in other units of the same building provide a nice distraction, and perhaps something to be expected - after all, we are in Hawaii!!! I can't wait to be back!!!

We are from Southern California. Our purpose for visiting Oahu was to visit with relatives and eat at tasty local establishments. We were not interested in doing the typical tourist things. After three nights we were off to Maui where my wife was raised. Location: Excellent location for us. The Ilikai Marina is located at the beginning of Waikiki so you are not caught up in as much congestion as in the center of Waikiki. We were not interested in the beach or the T-shirt shops. Ala Moana Park is almost next door and we walked there every morning taking in the spectacular views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. It is also close to Ala Moana Mall for shopping and eating. Traffic is very congested during rush hour but this is the case all around Honolulu. Unit 394: Spotlessly clean and comfortable. A large sliding door separates the bedroom from the living room. It worked well for us as we had my sister-in-law from Maui with us. She slept on the sofa bed in the living room. There was a full kitchen, but we did not use it. The condo is on the third floor so it is not very high. The view though is nice of the marina through the large windows. There was some street noise but the street below is not very busy so it was not an issue. Parking was $17/day. The multi-level parking structure was easy to access (entrance is right next door to the Red Lobster restaurant on Hobron Ln). This is not a hotel so there are no hotel services. I don't remember seeing a washer or dryer in the unit. The nightly rate was very reasonable. The cleaning fee though was quite high. I recommend this unit.

Stayed for a week at the end of Jan.'10. The condo had all that we needed for light housekeeping and meal prep. Xcelnt location for the price. Away from the main Waikiki "strip" Had wiFi, cable and beach chairs etc. Clean, appliances all worked. Short walk to Hilton Village and its' shops, restaurants beach amenities. Good pizza at the bar downstairs, convenience store close by. You do not need a rental car if you stay here. City bus, shuttles and cab will take you anywhere you might want to go. Only two beefs that keep it from 5 star, pull out sofa bed is bad and absence of a front desk as you would find in a hotel for information and services.

Incredible location on the north end of Waikiki steps away from the Hilton Hawaiian Village gave us the perfect nest to explore Waikiki and the rest of Oahu from! Parking can be expensive but if you are staying more than five days, opt for a monthly pass which is much more reasonable. Very convenient restaurants and walk to the heart of Waikiki. The view overlooks the Marina and a beautiful sunset. Don't miss the fireworks at the Hilton Hawaiian.

This unit was so adorable and comfortable. All the necessities were available for use and the location was great! There is a stunning view and the fireworks on Friday nights were spectacular. Chuck, the owner, immediately returned emails when questions were asked. I actually extended my stay there by 4 days. The unit was well furnished and the availability of cable and internet made the stay like being at home. I would highly recommend staying here in Unit 394.

We particularly enjoyed the flexibility offered by having a full kitchen. The on-site laundry facility on the upper floor(s) is definitely a plus. The room was nicely decorated with a good view of the marina. This unit is conveniently located on the west side of the Waikiki area. I had problem connecting to the wireless and there wasn't help beyond the basic information about the SSID to help me in resolving the problem. Luckily we brought with us a cat5 cable. Nonetheless, we had 2 laptops and only one could be online at a time.
