A $250 security deposit is required with this reservation and we may process a credit card authorization in that amount prior to your arrival.  A charge will result for damage to the condo or contents, missing contents, excessive cleaning required after checkout, or for exceeding the maximum number of overnight guests.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the condo or on the condo lanais, and doing so will result in full loss of security deposit.

No pets of any kind are allowed.

Check-in time is 3 PM (or later) and check-out time is 11 AM (or earlier).  Please plan your arrival and departure days accordingly. 

The reservation deposit is nonrefundable.  However, if a cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the check-in date, the full reservation deposit may be applied to a new set of reservation dates in the same condo beginning anytime up to one year from the original check-in date (subject to availability).

Cancellation made within 30 days of the check-in date results in loss of all payments.

We stayed in unit 3403 at Kanaloa for a week and found it to be clean, comfortable, quiet and very pleasant. While we tended not to use the lanai off the bedroom much, this was simply because the larger lanai, off the livingroom, is also adjacent to the ocean. There are plenty of birds, nice breezes and gentle waves that lap up on the shore just a few yards from the unit. The location is quite convenient, as long as you have a vehicle (which I would think of as a necessity on the Big Island anyway). It is close to the village of Kailua and not far off the main highway that runs up and down the west side of the island. Having the internet connection was very handy. There is no landline phone, but we both had very strong cell phone coverage (with different providers). The only downside is the lack of a/C; however, this was noticeable mostly on our arrival because the unit had been closed up tight and it took a few hours to cool it down. After that, there was usually a sufficient amount of breeze to keep the place cool.

From the living room lanai, a beautiful view of He'eia Bay where you can watch the ever-changing sea and listen to the sound of the waves breaking on the black sand beach.


There are two spacious lanais in unit 3403.  From the living room lanai watch surfers, net fishermen, snorkelers and others depending upon surf conditions.

Living Room

The living room has views of the ocean and the furnishings include a fold out sleeper-sofa and a coffee table, two end tables and a side chair. If you don't want to be entertained by the constant soothing sounds of the ocean, try the entertainment center which includes cable TV and high speed internet access. There are books and board games as well.

Dining Area

There are three dining options in unit 3403 in Kanaloa at Kona, you can either dine at the small table for two in the kitchen, or the glass-top table for four in the dining room or the teak table for four on the lanai.


In the spacious kitchen there is a refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal, coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave, Jenn-Aire oven and all of the amenities to prepare a meal for four. Koa wood cabinets complement the tile countertop and for those who like to cook, it is quite convenient.  Beautful view of the Bay as you cook.

Master Bedroom

The bedroom has a king size bed, two end tables with lamps, a six drawer dresser and walk in closet. The master bath has a tub&and shower. There is also a second full bathroom with tub and shower.

Nice separation between the master bedroom and the sleeping accomodations in the living room--two doors.  All rooms are spacious.


Short walk to one of the three pool/jacuzzi areas, and right next to one of the outdoor BBQs.

My husband and I recently spent six nights at this rental. It was extremely spacious and well laid out. The welcome fruit basket was a nice touch. The two lanais provided a sunny or shady spot to sit, depending upon your mood. The location was perfect; it was close to amenities yet far away from the noise of the more popular tourist spots. Parking was convenient and well lit. Although we didn't use them, the unit had brand new washer and dryer. Updating of some living room furniture and bathroom and kitchen fixtures would increase the enjoyment, but other than that, we would return and recommend the rental to others.

This condo is nicely furnished and we'll stocked. Booking agent is very efficient and pleasant to work with. Would definitely stay there again.

We liked being on the second floor. It felt private and more secure leaving the lanais wide open for the breezes and ocean sounds. The staircase is inside which gave my husband a convenient place to leave his clubs. The living room lanai has a lovely view & only morning sun - which is a good thing. This unit functions very well. It was clean & the carpeting, paint, koa wood cabinets & appliances were fine. The owner/manager is reachable, organized and accommodating. Hopefully, he will update. Especially the dishes. C'mon now....matched dishes from Costco or Target are not that pricey. Yes, we'd rent it again & recommend it.
