We couldn't have been happier with Condo 305. The location was convenient to many restaurants, the beach, and quick jaunts to the many beaches around it. The interior of the condo was clean, spacious and stocked with all the necessities for a week away from home. The gift basket was a big hit, too! The exterior was clean. The pool temperature was heavenly, and the beach and sea turtles were a constant pleasure. The lanai couldn't be beat either. Perfect for morning coffee and watching the tide roll in. Be sure to check out the Farmers Market just down the street on M-W-F mornings, and the guys working/renting snorkeling supplies at Boss Frogs were great.

Everything worked out as expected. The set up with the keys was very convenient. The condo was well appointed with everything that we needed including a nice welcome basket. The views from the lanai, living room and master bedroom were outstanding. We saw whales and swam with sea turtles (which also slept on the beach at night) and snorkelled seeing brightly coloured fish, all at the beach at the condo. It was also very nice to be able to walk along the beach to the farmers market, a gift shop, snorkel rental and little take out. It was our first trip to Maui and so we spent a certain amount of time exploring the island, but nothing is that far away. It was lovely to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. The condo complex seemed to have lots of families around so it was a very nice atmosphere. Staying at condo 305 was a lovely, relaxing experience.

Our week in unit 305 was wonderful. The location couldn't have been better. We loved being right on the ocean and watching the whales and turtles everyday. The unit was very nice and for the most part was very well equiped. There could have been a few more glasses and wine glasses and the cooking pots and cutlery could be updated but on the whole we were very comfortable. It would be nice if the tub was removed and a shower put in the master bath. The tub really dates the condo. We could walk to the grocery store and enjoyed eating at some the nearby eateries. We would definitely go back.

Aloha Condos was very easy to work with and responded very quickly to our request. The condo was nice...and very clean with the exception of the carpet which looked somewhat dirty and worn. Bathrooms were great with granite counter tops and all plumbing worked great, also had a handheld showerhead which was handy. It was great to have the 1/2 bath which was extremely nice with great lighting. Kitchen was very small but well layed out. However, it was very dark because counters were a dark faux wood formica and cupboards were also stained with a dark finish. Living room was large with a very comfortable sectional couch. Master Bedroom was on the smallish side but had a comfortable bed and great view. Could use new linens as small holes in sheets. No privacy because you could see right through the window shade(bamboo roll up)for the slider when the light was on and the sliding door faced north which was viewable from other condos. Other bedroom was pretty small also but had a goodsized closet. This condo would work well for small family or one couple..it would not be too convenient for two couples unless you are really good friends. Very convenient to have the washer/dryer in the condo. Location was really good...very close to Farmer's Market. Lots of turtles on the rocks right behind the condo. It was possible to go snorkeling with the turtles right there but not very deep so would work great for children. I saw no insects at all in the condo. The condo resort could be kept cleaner. Pool and deck appeared to be kept clean but walkways & stairs & elevator could be cleaner. There was a large dead waterbug on the walkway outside the condo doors on the ground floor for the 5 days that we were there.

The condo was reccomended to us by a friend who had stayed there. I booked it online. Easy! Directions, attraction brochures and instructions were mailed out ahead of time and also an e-mail. When we opened the door, an increible view of the ocean greeted us! The livingroom is spacious, bright and comfortable for several people. We found a generous gift basket with tasty treats. The condo is supplied with all your needs. You truly feel like you are at home. Our favorite place was the lanai. This condo juts out further than the others and provides a nice view in both directions. The best thing is the turtles grazing right in front of the condo. Each night at sunset, one of the turtles came up on the beach to rest. There is a beautiful pool with incredible tile work and deck. The beach is small with lounges but wasn't over crowded. We hope to come again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation home.

A nice place to stay in west Maui. The condo is a little dated and the carpet at first seems an odd choice, but it didn't really bother us. There is no aC, but if all the windows and sliding doors are open it stayed relatively cool. The view out of the lanai and the master bedroom is fantastic. The ocean is only about 30 feet away, so it will lull you to sleep every night. The front bedroom is a little less desirable, as a rooster loudly crowed every morning at 5am. The pool and the beach access are very convenient. There are a lot of large rocks in the ocean, so it's not the greatest swimming spot, but still good considering it's steps from the building. The check-in procedure and communication with aloha Condos was very smooth. The owners left a nice gift basket for our arrival.

We're so glad we booked at Nohonani Condo because the view alone is enough reason to just stay home and not do anything else on the Island. As soon as you walk in, you can see the beautiful Pacific Ocean across the living room. It's truly amazing to come home and wake up to this view! We had the master bedroom so sleeping to the ocean and waking up to it was really cool. We cooked breakfast and bbq'd twice and used the table on the balcony to enjoy our meals. The condo was beyond what we expected and we couldn't ask for anything more. The beds were comfortable and the sectional (sofa) appeared to be recently re-upholstered which was very obvious from looking at the original pictures. We were concerned about not having any aC unit however due to the close proximity to the ocean, we realized that it was not needed at all. The only time we felt warm in the condo is when we washed clothes and they dryer was on but it wasn't a big deal at all. The fact that we could wash our dirty-wet clothes before we left home was a nice addition too! The condo from what I seen seemed to have the best access to beach, as most of the other surrounding condo's had retaining walls and then the ocean. At least our condo had sand and chairs that you could lay out on as the pictures indicate. We saw a sea turtle the morning we were leaving which was really cool, people tend to snorkel in the water rather than swim due to the reefs however there are certain areas where you can lounge around in the water just fine. The condo was truly amazing and I wouldn't think twice about booking it again in the future! Thanks again for an awesome experience, this definitely won't be our last!

Open the back patio doors from the master bedroom or the living room and there you are staring out into the ocean waves lapping and the two hawaii' isles that one can see. turtles too! private small beach area. My family had an excellent stay at condo 305. This location is awesome. First off, we were greeted with a very nice welcome basket. We ate everything during our stay! The YouTube video on their website does an excellent job of showing you what you are getting. I love the fact that it was on the 3rd floor so you could get a by nice view of the ocean and surrounding islands. We visited during July so there were no whales, but the sea turtles were plentiful, feeding in early to late afternoon basically on your own beach. Although there is no airconditioning, we found that we did not need it. The cross breeze through the condo kept the place cool. As far as the location, it is just 5 minutes north of Kaanapali and only 10-15 minutes from Lahaina. My only suggestion is to follow Chucks (from aloha Condos) suggestion of buying food and supplies from the Kapahului area when arriving, assuming that is the airport you are flying into. They have a Walmart and Costco there. By the condo there are a few grocery stores but they are very expensive by mainland standards. When we were there, it was by quiet and secluded. Just a few families at the pool at one time. Although all beaches are public, you basically have a beach to yourself do to the surrounding properties having retaining walls. (Nohonani has a sand beach). Lastly, the communication from Chuck was great. I received reminder emails, with easy to follow instructions and directions. We will definitely stay at this property again!!!

Barb M from Wichita, KS on 07/11/2012 said:
Nahonani is a fantastic condo community. The pool, private beach and friendly people made the visit well worth while. Condo 305 has spectular sun set views as it faces directly west. I like to take pictures, so I made sure we were always back home by sun set. We participated in the conch shell custom every night as the sun set as well- got to know many other people during sun set. The condo itself is ok. The pluses include relatively comfortable master bed, remodeled bathrooms, and in-condo laudry. Just a couple things that put this condo into the "average" category for me: 1) kitchen is very small and very dark (and hot because no cross winds since it is tucked into a corner) 2) the sectional, while very comfortable, was very old and dirty. Don't set any electronics on the sectional as they will be filled with sand when you pick them up- but hey you are on the beach, so I guess some of that is to be expected. I should have put a clean sheet over the sectional and everything would have been just fine, as it is very comfortable. The on-site contact was fantastic and responsive. I had to call on a couple of very minor things and she came out and fixed them immediately- no issues what so ever.
Manager response:
Aloha Barb,
We were at the condo in june and noticed that the sectional was showing wear (and causing it to appear dirty.) We arranged to have it reupholstered as soon as was possible and it was returned today. It's beautiful. We have the condo professionally cleaned after every guest and have never noticed or had a complaint of sand. We're happy you enjoyed your stay otherwise.
Maureen and Jerry, owners

This is a gorgeous condo with a spectacular view! Upon opening the front door, you see across the lovely living room right out on to the Pacific Ocean and Molokai. It's absolutely stunning. There was a great welcome basket filled with goodies, which was a delight after 12 hours on a plane. The condo itself is immaculate and comfortable. The kitchen was very useful and everything worked perfectly. The location is also great. Some days we went north to surfing beaches; other days we went to Lahaina to Baby Beach to hang with locals and nap under the trees on the beach. Every night we'd sit on the Nohonani Beach area and watch the sea turtles. It was the best vacation ever and we can't wait to return!

This place is absolutely a must. This condo is right next to the ocean, conveniently located to daily grocery and organic (Vegan as well) place. Very quiet, parking was not difficult. Pool was clean and overall, I highly rate it. We had a toddler, and three of us enjoyed staying at this place. We were able to watch those sea turtles all the time (in October). The balcony was just next to the ocean, the best place to have family lunch/dinner. If we ever come to Maui, this would be our place to stay.

We stayed at your lovely condo for a week in mid-October and had a wonderful time. The condo itself was very neat and clean. Our kids shared the room with the 2 beds and my husband and I stayed in the ocean front room. The kitchen had everything we needed (except for a pitcher for lemonade but we made do with the blender pitcher) and everything worked well. It was wonderful falling asleep (and waking up) to the sound of the waves hitting the beach every day. We made great use out of the lanai and ate outside most days. Our girls loved swimming in the pool every afternoon and were the only ones swimming on most days. We used the bbq by the pool several times too and it was also very clean. The beach out front was great for building sandcastles and playing. The entire complex was quiet and well taken care of. The condo is located just minutes from some great beaches (arrive early - like before 9 if you want to find parking) and restaurants and the small local market is within walking distance. There is a Snorkel Bob's just up the road too if you want to rent snorkel gear (and a Subway for packing picnic lunches). Turtle watching from the deck was a thrill and we even saw a group of dolphins pass by one afternoon. We will definitely be back again!!

After returning from our 10 day vacation at Nohonani's unit #305, I went to the website to show it to a friend. I was really surprised to see the negative previous review. Don't believe it. My family of 5 has stayed at unit #305 several times, and since we found it we won't stay anywhere else. The unit is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Linens and towels were all new or near new. The bathrooms have been remodeled. The kitchen is a little small, but more than adequate for a vacation. The owners have gone the extra mile to make you feel at home and provide extras (books, games, information on the area, etc.) I really enjoyed the wide screen TV in the living room and the new HD TV in the master bedroom. And, as many other reviewers already stated, the location could not be better. This condo has a corner balcony/lanai that makes the amazing sunsets and turtle viewing even better than other units at the Nohonani - and unit more private. The pool area has just been completely redone, with a beautiful tile mural of turtles. Lastly, the Nohonani has a sandy beach out front of the pool area. Most condos in the area lack a sandy beach. I could go on and on... For me and my family, we only stay at Nohonani #305 - and we're not surprised that many people return to this same condo year after year.

The location is fantastic with shops just down the road but we still had a car which made discovering Maui much easier. One point which might put people off is that there is no air conditioning, but let me tell you it is not necessary. The breeze coming straight off the sea or even from down the hill behind is more than enough to cool the condo. We loved staying at the Nohonani and Condo 305 had everything we needed. The condo had sand toys, lawn chairs, and boogie boards all available to use anytime. It was a comfortable atmosphere inside and we really liked having the kitchen and washer/dryer. The farmers market a couple blocks down had some good finds too! The only thing we missed out on was air conditioning.

we're so happy you enjoyed our condo and had such a wonderful time. It means a lot to us. We were surprised, though, that you thought you had missed out on air conditioning. With our condo being right on the water with the opposite side of the condo open to the outside above the gardens, and with the gentle trade winds, we have never felt the need for air conditioning.
We have had other guests mention being surprised in Hawaii not needing air conditioning at our condo. My husband and I have lived in the islands for more than forty years, and the last time we had a Maui vacation was in the 70's. Things have changed a lot since then, but we were pleasantly surprised to find Maui still as beautiful as we remembered and not as congested as we'd expected. We had business on Maui, but in between we did lots of sightseeing and kicking back at this beautiful oceanfront refuge. Our time at the Nohonani Condos, conveniently located near resorts, restaurants, markets and shops was so very restful and enjoyable. ( We heartily recommend the "Ohana Taco" wagon, found after 6 pm within walking distance of the Condos.) Greeted by a thoughtful gift basket of island treats, we slid open the lanai doors to breathe in the fresh salt air. The views of Molokai and Lanai changed hourly with the glorious weather and the rising and setting sun. Rainbows appearing, whales spouting and breaching through the channel, turtles and manta rays playing in the shore break. It was a real treat for us Big Islanders and we definitely look forward to a future jaunt to the Valley Isle and the "home-away-from-home" comfort of Nohonani Condo #305!

Normally condos or hotels do not quite live up to their pictures or description but #305 Nohonani surpassed our expectations. The condo is in the most beautiful location we could imagine. It is right on the edge of the ocean, and the view could not be better. We saw numerous Humpback Whales as well as giant sea turtles feeding right in front of our lanai. We ate most of our meals in as you could not get a better table at any restaurant. The sunsets and rainbows were spectacular, and the barbecues were always available. The beds were comfortable as was the temperature in the condo, thanks to a lovely cross breeze. It was clean and very pretty. The check in process was easy and hassle free. The condo is well stocked, and includes the use beach towels, hair dryer, boogie boards, books, and basic spices and kitchen supplies. We would highly recommend #305 Nohonani Condos.

After spending countless hours searching the internet for just the right place, I hit upon Nohonani Condos and was instantly drawn to it. The photos do not do it justice. Chuck was so helpful in the planning, and before we even left home I was surprised to receive a welcoming letter from the owners with tips for our stay---plus a wonderful welcome basket was waiting for us in the condo. When we opened the door, saw the ocean and heard the waves, I knew this WAS just the right place. We had a wonderful week and will always remember our stay. The only minor complaint was that the bathtub/shower was a bit below the standard of the rest of the condo--everything else was great! We would stay again in a heartbeat.

First trip to Maui and couldn't be happier with our week long stay in this unit. Of the 4 condos we resided in during our trip (December 18-January 6), this was by far the nicest and most comfortable. Booking the condo was easy (used vrbo to search and check availability and virtual tours, videos to view most properties). The owner was very patient and friendly. We checked in Christmas Eve day after a quick flight from Oahu and were blown away. The view of the water and Molokai was terrific. Very peaceful. The elevator and luggage dolly made moving in easy. The unit is very roomy, especially the living room. We have 3 children (11, 9, 7) and we all slept fine. The master bedroom has a great view and its own door to the lanai. Sleeping to the sound of waves is incredible. The high quality ceiling fans and lots of cross-ventilation kept the unit cool. Extras like games for the kids, Maui guidebooks, and the welcome basket were an unexpected pleasant surprise. The area is very nice. Not congested like the nearby resort areas. ABC store is a couple blocks away and a Safeway is a 10 minute drive. We saw turtles right below us from the lanai every morning and whales every day. The owner provides binoculars which made whale watching much easier. Saw some incredible views of the full moon setting over the ocean, however the highlight during our stay was being greeted with a spectacular double rainbow over the ocean in front of Molokai on Christmas morning! Thanks so much for opening your home to us. Our family will always remember this trip.

This was our first experience renting a condo on line. It could not have been easier. The "virtual tour" of unit 305 was exactly as we found it...clean, comfortable and well stocked with all the necessities and many extras. Internet access was a very pleasant surprise. We also appreciated the travel guide and guest book in the unit. They provided tons of local to-do and dining tips. It is a relatively small and intimate complex so it was easy to strike up conversations around the pool, beach or BBQ grills, all the more homey. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that there is only one shower (+ a half bath). When the 4 of us would come in from the beach or a day trip we would have to take turns showering. If you are in no hurry, then this is no problem...just chill on the lanai and enjoy the wonderful view til it's your turn. We would absolutely recommend this unit.

What a wonderful welcome -- a gift basket and special coffee started off our stay in a well-decorated and comfortable condo. And stepping into the room was like stepping into a photo --- the view of the ocean was a postcard! We were close to shopping, good restaurants (highly recommend Kimo's), and historic Lahaina, with easy parking and a quieter road. One drawback was the lack of air-conditioning in the heat wave we found ourselves in, but the fans did help. We would definitely return - and recommend the place to friends and family.

Our family vacation was spent island hopping with Maui being our final destination. We were looking forward to relaxing for the last few days on the ocean and Nohonani #305 was the perfect setting! It was right on the ocean, with a beach and swimming pool and very close to Lahaina and our other planned activities (the Old Lahaina Luau, Ka'anapali Ziplining with Skyline Eco-Adventures, and snorkeling). The condo was well-appointed and obviously well cared-for. The stacked laundry equipment was extremely handy and the kitchen was fully-stocked for all of our needs. Bedding and towels were in great condition as were all of the furniture, appliances and other furnishings. The kids were very pleased to have the extensive TV selections and I LOVED having the high-speed internet connection so I could continue blogging about our wonderful trip. There was no air-conditioning, but when I go to the ocean I WANT to have the windows open in order to enjoy the sounds of the surf! Plus, with the wind from the east coming through the front windows of the condo and the ocean breezes coming in from the back, the ceiling fans in every room did an excellent job of providing circulation and dissipating the heat of the day when it was time to sleep at night. Chuck the rental agent, was great to work with, always responding quickly to questions and helping us make our time there so enjoyable. The owners, the Kelly's, provided a driving map and suggestions for supply shopping well in advance in addition to a welcome gift upon arrival. We are very pleased to highly recommend this condo!

Our three teenage sons summed it up best when they first walked thru the door here... "oh wow!" (or something like that!) We were awed, inspired, ecstatic, and elated about the view! We were pleased to see a very nice welcome basket awaiting our arrival, too! The place was very clean, well-stocked, comfortable (beds and pillows were fantastic), and felt like home. We all enjoyed seeing the sea turtles all the time out front (and swimming w/ them, too!) The location was very centralized and made it very easy to get just about anywhere. Listening to the waves breaking thru the day and night was very relaxing. This was JUST as it was advertised and even better than we expected. We have already recommended it to several friends and hope to return soon for some whale-watching! The only negative was the fact that it is all the way in Hawaii! :) we wish it was closer so we could enjoy it more! Thanks!

This condo has an awesome location and is right on the ocean. The master bedroom is also on the ocean front and you are lured to sleep with the sound of the waves. We like being on the 3rd floor for the vast ocean view. The gass grills right on the ocean make for a beautiful place to cook dinner as the kitchen is way to hot to cook in. If you plan on cooking much, it is not very equipped for that. Only the minimal necessities in the kitchen. Other things that would really upgrade the unit is a better master bed mattress and blinds to block the heat of the afternoon. The blinds on the lanai were not helpful in blocking the sun and heat from warming up the unit to an unbearable temp.

A nice condo with a great view. We were there at the end of whale season and saw a few tail slaps and one breach. The pool was nice and clean. While we were there some weather came in and the surf was perhaps too big to swim but the beach is beautiful. Coral heads abound and it should be great for snorkeling. Many turtles live in the area and feed right out front during high tide. At one point we counted 5 right out in front of the grill area. Would stay again.

Our family had a wonderful time on Maui. Our condo (#305) at the Nohonani was everything we wanted and more! Each morning we drank coffee on the lani. It was beautiful to watch the clouds explode into pinks and gold as the sun rose above the mountain behind us. We snorkeled right off the beach of our condo and saw beautiful fish, sea urchins, and sea turtles! The owners were so thoughtful, and supplied many extras including Hawaiian CD's and binoculars. In the evenings we would watch the most beautiful, breath taking sunsets from the lani and then be rocked to sleep by the ocean waves! We would recommend the Nohonani #305 to anyone who wants to enjoy Maui to its fullest. Aloha!

It would be nice if the tub was removed and a shower put in the master bath. The tub really dates the condo. We could walk to the grocery store and enjoyed eating at some the nearby eateries.

Aloha Barb,
We were at the condo in june and noticed that the sectional was showing wear (and causing it to appear dirty.) We stayed at your lovely condo for a week in mid-October and had a wonderful time.

We stayed at #305 with our grown-up sons for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. Arriving late at night to an inviting well-light flat we instantly felt at home. Thanks to the sound advice from the owners and the property manager we had all the best pics and enjoyed our stay very much. Easy access to the beach, privacy on the lanai, excellent natural air-condition, good beds, tv plus internet - who could ask for more? We would like to come back and recommend this condo to everyone.

The view was really nice but the unit was poorly maintained. It was dirty. Light bulbs were burned out everywhere. Bathroom shower did not even have a soap dish. Towels were old and worn out.Carpet was dirty with stains everywhere. Scattered rugs were a tripping hazard in the hallway. We had difficulty on arrival as the exterior light was out so we had to find something to illuminate the lock box to get in.We were really disappointed.
Manager response:
Dear Nancy, We were so surprised to read your comments. We take great pride in our condo as you can tell by previous guest reviews. We have the number of our local contact person on the refrigerator of the condo and are so sorry that you did not call her to take care of these things. We recently had had her buy new bedding and the towels were replaced a short time ago. We have the condo professionally cleaned after every guest leaves. I can't imagine what could have gone wrong for you. We'll be talking with both our contact person and cleaning company. We definitely will take care of this situation.

Maureen, owner Nohonani 305.

Everything was great! Easy to find, great location, easy check in, great welcome basket waiting for us - nice touch! And what a view from the lanai! Constant viewing of turtles directly in front of condo! We prefer this to the 'resort' areas -much more laid back. Our boys are ages 20 and 23 and they loved it as well. It was always nice to come home to 305 in the evenings and relax on the lanai and BBQ a nice dinner. The owners were very accessible by phone when needed. Bill, one of the resident managers, was very helpful as well. We would definitely recommend this condo and hope to come back to it in the future!

Condo 305 has all of the comforts of home with the added bonus of the most amazing view and experiences right there in front of you! My family loved having the choice of being able to walk down and swim right in the ocean or in the swimming pool. And turtles feed right there in front of the condos - big turtles!! It's kept a piece of my heart.

We had a wonderful stay in this condo! The weather was upper 80's so we spent alot of time at the beach right in front of the condo. It was a nice private beach and there was also a pool right next to it. The kids had a blast playing in the sand and water. The condo had sand toys, lawn chairs, and boogie boards all available to use anytime. It was a comfortable atmosphere inside and we really liked having the kitchen and washer/dryer. The farmers market a couple blocks down had some good finds too! The only thing we missed out on was air conditioning.
Manager response:
we're so happy you enjoyed our condo and had such a wonderful time.
And it would mean having to close the windows missing out on the sound of the surf and the trade winds. We are pleased, though, that you enjoyed our condo and hope you'll come again.

Aloha!

Condo is as close as one cold possibly get to the beach. Fabulous views. Extremely well equipped (dishes, books, etc). Only downside -- and it's a very minor one -- is that the entrance to the property is a little dreary, and the elevator is extremely slow. Also, we had been able to sign up for Wifi at the place we had previously stayed at (for $40 per weeek), and we did miss that amenity a little.
