Lovely little getaway.
I took my daughter and her friend for a 3 day getaway, having stayed at HBR before this little studio was just perfect for our needs. A great view, a big comfy bed, a comfy sofa bed, the amenities all just worked. nicely appointed furnishings not tacky on the tourists' eye. Thanks!

A great time in a great place.
A lovely little studio with vaulted ceiling and full kitchen. Good view and we appreciated the feeling of privacy from being away from the other buildings. Amenities were plentiful, complete with two boogie boards! Thanks for the wonderful stay, I wish I was there right now!

Great Condo
We loved the condo. It worked perfectly for three couples - we each also had our own bathrooms. The kitchen was adequately supplied with all we needed to prepare meals. We loved the covered deck - we ate outside even when it rained. We wished we had a view of the beach and were a little closer, but a view of the ocean was within a 5 minute walk. We were grateful for all the beach equipment that was available to us in the garage. A beautiful, well kept area.

Great deal in central Kauai
This condo was an excellent choice for us. We wanted to stay in Kapaa because we planned to visit all parts of the island and we had heard the food is the best here. We picked the perfect base from which to make excursions. The condo was furnished well - we were able to prepare our own meals when we wanted to and used the free beach towels and cooler bag provided. The laundry facilities are just across the bottom of the stairs and there is a great fish place called Kilauea Fish Market right next door. It wasn't necessary for us to have an ocean view since we saw so many of the beaches around the island and the beach in front of the hotel isn't really swimmable anyhow. The curtain issue was a bit annoying when we wanted to access the patio but it wasn't enough to deter a 5 star rating. Kristen was very thorough in her emails and enjoyable to make arrangements with. Thank you aloha condos for a great stay.

Had a great time in Condo 158
The condo was in a good location as it was on the ground level and just steps from the beach. The condo was well stocked with dishes and utensils. We took advantage of the styrofoam cooler and beach chairs. Never took the boogie boards out as the water seemed a little rough while we were there. Slept great on the comfortable King size bed. The flat screen tv was also appreciated. Instructions were simple and easy to understand. I highly recommend staying here while in Kauai.

Great House
We stayed 8 days at this house. There were 6 of us (me, husband, two kids 9year-old and 7 year-old, and grandparents) The beach had very soft sand, but we always drove to other beaches to swim and snorkel. The location of the house was very central to our activities. The house had plenty of room for all of us. The phone and WiFi didn't work so we used our cell phones. Grandparents did laundry several times, so glad to have washing machine/dryer. Husband and I watched sunrise every morning from our bedroom. Roosters are very noisy all night and early morning. Bring earplugs. My husband needed them to sleep. Loved the house for our family.

Paradise Found!
We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful stay at condo 250. We were very comfortable, ejoyed the relaxing atmosphere and appreciated the central location. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet the owner, super job on all the personal touches and thank you for the goodie bags. We would love to return in the future and highly recommend.

A Perfect Stay in Paradise
We were very pleased with condo unit 4324 at Hanalei Bay Resort. The photos and previous reviews are very accurate as to what you may expect from this unit. The view is absolutely gorgeous from the room and lanai. All the furnishings were comfortable and in great condition. We received great service from Kristen Greene and aloha Condos and highly recommend them as well. If you are looking for a studio unit at the beautiful Hanalei Bay Resort, you will be very happy that you chose this one.

This place has everything.
We stayed here with two other couples and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen as we prepared most of our meals after going to the local Costco. This home is beautiful and comfortable. It even had beach chairs, boogie boards and a large cooler bag so we had picnic lunches at the beach. It was awesome. We will stay here again.

A Womderful Stay
I recently spent a week in Kauai and stayed in condo#225 at Islander on the Beach. In spite of the rainy weather we had a good time. The condo was excellent...very clean and came with all the amenities of home. Dishes, silverware, blender for the fruity drinks, microwave, small refrigerator and toaster oven. The bed was more comfortable than mine at home. There were also beach mats, beach chairs and a cooler for our use. A nice surprise was the welcome bag left for us which had a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts, bottles of water, a tote bag and information about the island. They also left plenty of towels for a weeks stay. I loved the ocean front location and having morning coffee on the deck. The unit is nice for two people but would be crowded with more than two people. There is no elevator so you have to carry bags and walk up to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The location is within walking distance to some shops and restaurants. The restaurant In the resort next door is excellent !! The Islander on the Beach is a very nice property. The grounds are kept meticulously and are full of beautiful flowers. My only complaint is that it can be hard to get a parking place in the lot as there are not enough of them. I would also recommend renting a compact car since the parking spaces are narrow. This is our second year at Islander and we will definitely be back again. I would recommend unit #225 without any hesitation.

Great room - Excellent Value
The view was great, we enjoyed eating our lunch on the private lanai - looking out at the waves pounding the far side of the bay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the mini-kitchenette was sufficient. All in all, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We'd definitely come back. I highly recommend it. It was close to the St. Regis beach, a short 5-10 minute walk - and it's much cheaper.

Very clean, comfortable well equipped home
Appreciated all the items that were included with the home during our stay , Including cables needed for electronics, Wi Fi , Beach supplies , Kitchen was well equipped as well and was lacking nothing. We appreciated your thoughtfulness regarding our needs during our stay. All we had to purchase was groceries.

Absolutely fantastic!
Condo 4323 was just perfect. Everything we could ever need was provided incl. snorkel gear, tennis rackets, beach chairs etc. etc. It was beatifully furnished with fantastic new modern appliances. The location was excellent as it was in close proximity to both pools and tennis courts and a short stroll to the beach. I would highly recommend this beautiful condo!

Spacious. Warm. Welcoming. Amenities. Great bang for your buck!
Great location. Spacious. Warm. Welcoming. All the comforts of home plus so much more. Highly recommended and if we ever return to Princeville, this unit will be our desired unit for the value, amenities, and size.
—kristiand (02/21/2012)
As promised, more amenities than I could think of.
Lovely place. Came with my family for 5 days. Fully stocked with everything I could need in the kitchen, a library of books, beach towels, mats, boards... Dishwasher, washing machine and other appliances were all very new. Just a few miles from some great beaches in Hanalei. We were concerned that we'd get a lot of rain because it was February in Princeville, but weather turned out sunny most of time anyway. Had some trouble with the wireless internet, but after calling our contact at the resort--who picked up the phone every time--everything was taken care of immediately.
—Lisa (02/19/2012)
Beautiful Home
My wife and I and both of our parents stayed here for a week in January, and we absolutely loved the place. Just as pictured, clean and beautiful. Everything we needed was there, sun screen, body surf boards, snorkeling gears, you name it. Everyone had a wonderful time. The kitchen is spacious and with every we needed. We could have used some asian spices. Ago I did not personally Kristen, but she was of great help. I accidentally locked the garage opener in the garage and had to call Kristen. It took only about five minutes before someone was able to come and help me. I greatly appreciated the service.
—Sublibyss (01/13/2012)
Lovely.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the condo. It has everything you might need (even welcomes you with a bag of goodies, thank you that was nice)and the location cannot be better. By the way, booking the place is just as easing. Thank you Kristen at aloha Condos for making it all hassle-free. Overall, a great place to stay and good people to deal with. Next time we are on Kauai, we'll book this condo. Hands down, the best.

Moana Kai Beach Houses
A Beautiful Place to Stay in Paradise
This condo was nothing short of perfect. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, very well equipped with nice kitchen amenities, plates, silverware, etc... and even came equipped with tennis racquets, dive masks and snorkels, etc. The view of Hanalei Bay is spectacular, from the very comfortable lanai decks off the living room and bed room. The condo has very good WiFi connection, a large flat screen TV in both the living room and bedroom, and a very comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful... the path to the private beach (well... it is shared with nearby St. Regis Hotel, but is not accessible to the public) was a beautiful adventure in itself. I cannot imagine what else could have made our stay more pleasant. We can't wait to return!

Nihilani at Princeville
Lovely Vacation in Princeville
This year the family and I decided to visit the island of Kauai. I found this rental online. I was impressed with all of the positive reviews. The price was right and it was in a desirable area (Princeville). The complex is very close to Hanalei, which offers a great variety of restaurants and shops. The grocery store is also very close. Upon opening the front door of our unit we were very pleased. The unit was clean and well kept. Plenty of space for the kids. It felt like we were home. There were Hawaiian goodies on the kitchen island left for us (nice touch). The unit has everything a family needs to feel at home. Fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, comfortable furniture, cable tv, and air conditioning. The garage even has beach chairs, beach mats and kids toys. Only a few minor things to consider. The bbq is out at the pool. We grilled a few times and had to bring our food back to the unit. The pool closes at 9pm and the HOa is strict about getting everyone out on time. Overall we had an excellent stay and hope to return very soon. I would highly recommend the Nihilani, unit 3a.
—Great time at the Nihilani (10/12/2011)
Awesome view, location - just perfect
This place was a gem. We've stayed in Hanalei Bay Resort before, but this was less expensive, had a better view and a killer location - with quick access to the beach path and very close to parking (which is an issue if you are carrying groceries). The agents alohacondos.com, provided great service and their communication was excellent. The only drawback is that you share a lanai with the condo next door, but there are carefully placed plants so it's not really an issue. It also provided great views for my 2 year old son to do some chicken spotting. When we come back, we'll stay here again... for sure

Beautiful 2 bedroom condo in Princeville area
I was worried about check in since we landed at 9pm and didn't get to Hanalei Bay Resort until after 10pm. Check in was easy and they even escorted us with our luggage via shuttle cart to our condo. The 2 bedroom condo was beautifully furnished and was very comfortable. The view from the lanai was incredible. The furnishings were luxurious and very spacious. We loved the big screen tv and comfortable couches in the living room and all the living spaces including the lanais. The view and connecting extra large lanais were the best. We could have used a 4th chair on the lanai for breakfast since we had 4 in our family. I wished the 2nd bedroom had 2 beds vs. king bed for my children. We also loved the lounge chairs on the lanai off of the main bedroom. My husband experienced a shoulder injury and could not sleep comfortably in the bed. He spent many hours dozing on the chair in the living room which he claimed was a life saver! The worst part was we were worried that we would run out of toilet paper (so an extra roll or 2 would be nice for our 9 day stay). The kitchen was well stocked and loved having coffee pot and blender. Nice of you to have extra paper towels, sponge, dish soap, coffee filters, sugar and all the critical essentials. Thank you for the welcome basket with coffee, cookies, water and macadamia nuts. To have coffee in the morning was essential especially since we were awakened by the roosters at 5am! We did finally adjust to the roosters but wish that they didn't control all of Kauai!
—Gloria (01/02/2011)
Wow! Way better than we thought!!!
The condo exceeded our expectations & the pictures didn't do it justice. Very clean & quiet. We were concerned about the parking mentioned by others but don't let this stop you from booking, the on-site security assisted you with parking if you arrived late so it was never a problem. To wake up and be oceanfront on your own lanai is incredible. The sunrise from the lanai was also an added bonus & surprise. The pool area is great and was never crowded. You can't beat the rate or the location, we will book again! It was a great experience & vacation.

The resort is beautiful and full of lush trees and flowers. The path to the beach is quick and easy. the rooms are clean, large and accomodating. the experience could not have been better. this condo is perfect for those that want to relax and not be in the kitchen all day. The kitchen is not made for cooking large quantities (kitchenette), but perfect for snacks.

We rented the unit because of the great view portayed on the website and the price. We were not disapointed with the view and the room was nicely appointed. Our only complaint was that you could hear the nieghboors next door even when talking in a conversational tone. The soundproofing with the next door unit was compromised by the locked adjoining room door. We were fortunate to have had considerate nieghboors who observed quiet hours so it was not a big issue. Although this could have been an unpleasent stay if we had loud, inconsiderate nieghboors.

We had a nice time. Hawaii is absolutely beautiful. The beach area was nice, but a hike to get to it. Complimentary rides are offered via golf cart which is nice, but we would have gone down to the beach more had it been a closer walk. The jacuzzi was a nice short walk away. The condo was nice and comfortable with a relaxing lanai. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable to us, since it was extra soft without much support. It was very nice to have laundry in the condo that we could use. Parking is not so convenient since there is no parking close to the condos, only golf carts may drive by the condos. Again, we could have called for rides on the golf carts, but we prefer to be self-suffiecient.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback--
The king bed in HBR 6204 is a one year old top of the line Memory Foam Mattress which most of our guests find incredibly comfortable.

We are so happy that we chose to spend our week vacation on the North shore, but particularly so that we did so at the Hanalei Bay Resort. We rented Condo 6204 from aloha Condos after doing much homework, as this was our first trip to Kauai. I was tentative at first to book someone's private condo as this was the first for us (we usually do resorts). But it exceeded our expectations in most areas. It was very professionally managed. From booking, to answering requests, all was very professional. They catered for all our requests and needs without hesitation and with a smile. The first thing that struck out to me was that even though it was a studio (hence relatively smaller than say a 1-bedroom), the owner had decorated it very tastefully. On top of this, the amenities were really top end and the attention to detail was highly thought over. (For example they had detergent for the dish washer and other small things you didn't have to run to the sundry shop to buy). This is something we appreciated very much. It was very clean, and felt roomy. The bathroom is very modern and spacious with very good lighting. The kitchenette, though small and not a full kitchen, had everything you would need for making coffee and tea, sandwiches and other smaller meals. It was stacked with the necessary kitchenware. The bed was nice, huge and very comfy and we had very nice sleep there. They have an a/c (Daikin) which helped a lot as it can get a bit warm during the day and even at night sometimes. The best bit of the condo though, was the lanai or verandah. Unlike surrounding condos (which had cheap plastic chairs), they have confortable chairs with cushions and tables...and the view of Hanalei Bay is very, very enduring. We would just sit there and soak in the peace, tranquility of the islands right there from the lanai. If our travels bring us back to Kauai in the future, we would stay here again without a doubt. It was a dream holiday.

The room's view was very beautiful and relaxing. The grounds was very scentful with amazing flowers and plants. Too bad the Bali Hai Restarant was closed because it had amazing views. The North shore is where to stay with the best scenery, beaches, dining, and amazing hiking. Go snorkeling at Tunnels and Ke'e beaches about 20 minutes away. The Makai Princeville golf course is one of the best I've played. Look on the internet for good price tee times. I highly recommened the Coast hike and Captain andy's snorkel/dinner cruise. By the way the TV moves in any direction if you want to watch in bed or Lanai. My wife and I had an amazing time and hope to come back some day. Kristin the owner was very nice and easy to work with. The condo had great towels, cooler, and beach chairs. It is very easy to get to from the parking lot. A great gorcery store close with great prices. We cooked out on the grill and it was very nice.

The condo looks exactly like it does in the pictures. It was extremely comfortable, very clean, and beautifully furnished. The room had an air conditioner, but when we ran it, the room became humid. Luckily, the weather in Hanalei was mostly cool during our stay, so we found that we didn't need to run the air conditioner---especially at night. The front door was not a solid door, so you could hear the other vacationers outside if they walked by--but this was not really a bother. However....the roosters! They loved to let you know they were in the vicinity---especially at 6:00 am! Other than the roosters, the only really negative thing is that the room did not have Internet access. The gift shop on the property had WiFi, but it just wasn't convenient for us to lug our stuff to the gift shop each time we needed to access the Internet. Overall, we had a very nice stay in the Hanalei Bay Resort condo. We would come back to stay here again.

What a beautiful condo with a very warm and elegant interior! I was pleasantly suprised by how stocked the condo was, everything from plastic wrap to boogie boards to tons of local brochures. There was even a drying rack in the condo for our wet suits and towels, along with lots of extra pillow! The view from the condo is far more fabulous in person. It was breathtaking to wake up and see how close Bali Hi was and to see the most beautiful rainbow soaring in the sky! The view is far more closer than it appears online. The condo location was great! Only a half a minute to the pool, restauraunt and tennis courts. The beach is stunning and just a short 5-10 minute walk down the hill. There was a call box at the bottom, close to the beach in case you wished to have a ride back up. Unfortunately during our stay the main restaurant was closed at the resort and also at the St. Regis next door. We ate one night at the lounge on the resort and were not very impressed with the food. Beautiful condo and resort to stay at with restaurant, shops, and a grocery store within a 5 minute drive. Hanalei Bay is approximately 10 minutes away and has many more shops to offer.

The hot tub was not working the entire week we were there. That was a dissappointment after a long day of hiking. But, the views are awesome and I just fell in love with the North part of the island.

I was slightly skeptical about this unit when I booked it because the price was so reasonable and I wasn't sure about staying on a murphy bed. However, I was so pleased with what I found. The pictures accurately represented the unit, and actually the unit seemed a bit bigger than shown. The murphy bed was comfortable - I was really surprised. I slept well and it was easy to put up and down. The living space was well laid out, comfortable (I napped on the couch twice in 4 days), and felt homey. The view from the lanai was beautiful and allowed me to see the beauty of Kauai from the unit. The kitchen was well stocked. I ate in and packed lunches and the kitchen had all the pots, tupperware, and gear you could want and need. The bathroom was a girl's dream. Large vanity area with drawers for my stuff and a separate room with the toilet and shower. The quickest way to the unit from the parking area is by passing the complex dumpsters, which is not pretty but frankly, I didn't care. And, if you didn't want to see dumpsters, you can go the long way. I didn't find this to be any sort of problem. Finally, the owners / management company were very responsive as I asked questions prior to and after booking. If I return, I would stay here again and if I come with my family, I would look into booking 1558 and the companion unit, 1557.

Bummer the restaurant/bar were not operational. They were supposed to be but a fire in July put a stop to construction. Condo 1205's kitchenette had no food pantry to store dry products, no food preparation area, no oven and the undercounter refrig had no freezer for ice making/storage. We hung out mostly in the Hanalei Bay area so it was a little inconvenient to drive in and out of Princeville, but overall it was a good stay.

We grilled fish from the fish market poolside one evening and also tried the various restaurants. The only complaint we have is that our stay was too short.

This condo was perfect for our family of 3. It was actually roomier than we had expected and Oh, so comfortable and quiet!! I don't think we have all slept that well in ages! Everything we needed was provided and it really felt like a home-base. The pool and hot tub never seemed crowded and were awesome to look forward to at the end of a days' exploration around the island. We loved the Foodland at Princeville and really appreciated the "locals card" we received with our condo key. They did decide to cut the jungle down on day 2 of our stay to increase the view and our daughter was sad to see the forest go, but we understand there's never a good time to do these things. It didn't deter the birds from visiting us on the lanai each morning. I have been missing coffee on the lanai every day since returning! Thanks also for the gifts upon arrival - that was a lovely surprise. We used the beach bag every day on the trip!

My husband and I frequent Kauai as we are moving there this summer. I used to live in Oahu, and know the in's and out's of what to expect when staying on an Island. I came across this studio and it looked like it would be the perfect fit for us and our 1 year old daughter. It was a small unit, only because there is a lot of un-necessary large furniture in the room. (The huge table and chairs) I think with some re-arranging of some furniture, the place will look and feel much bigger. They were so kind and left us a pack n play crib for our daughter to sleep in, and a high chair. It was perfect! The view was beautiful, the condo was fully stocked with everything we needed, and more. The staff at the resort were kind and very helpful. The pool was beautiful and a lot of fun and the jacuzzi was one of the most relaxing jacuzzis we have been in. The rides to and from the studio was very nice and was a god-send with groceries and a sleeping baby!! The BBQ guy by the pool was awesome and the food was yummy. Too bad there is not a bar, would make this place stellar. **My only complaint was that the studio could have been much cleaner. As soon as we walked in, we smelled mildew and a musty smell. We opened the sliding glass doors to get some air in, but it didn't help. It just didn't feel or smell like a freshly cleaned room. By the 3rd night, the smell was still there, and our 2 friends who came over for a BBQ commented on the smell. I couldn't handle it anymore, I went to market to get air fresheners! (Not cheap) We visited our friends' condo on the same property, and their room did not have this smell at all and felt a lot cleaner. Don't get me wrong, we loved staying here, and we will stay at Hanalei Bay Resort when we return, but whatever cleaning service is used on the condo, I would make sure they are doing 100 bucks worth of work as that is about how much we had to pay for a cleaning fee. A fresh, clean smell/feel would have made this a perfect stay!

As my wife and I were planning on backpacking the Kalalau Trail for 4 of our 9 days on Kauai, we wanted to stay on the North end of the island. We enjoy hangin' out in Hanalei and at Hanalei Bay as well. We found HBR #1525 to be a very unique value for a condo. It is a Studio setup but has a full kitchen. It is extremely comfortable and clean and up to date. All beach equipment is supplied, wonderful kitchen supplies. For the daily/weekly rate it is indeed a great find. The resort itself is also very nice. Great pool/jacuzzi area. Good service for what little is offered there right now. Our only real complaint about this particular condo was the lack of drawer space for clothes. Other than that, perfect in every way.
Manager response:
Aloha!
We will be purchasing new dresser drawers for this unit very soon!

The unit is very nice & the price is good, has a nice view of the forest, lots of birds close to the pool & jacuzzi. only minor drawback is the parking situation. We had to park in the loading dock/maintenance workers area. but this was no problem for us, some may not feel comfortable. there is other parking available but its a distance. the only other problem we encountered was the lack of lighting in the parking area & had to get help to find our unit (we arrived at 9 p.m.) however there is good enough lighting once you know the layout of the property & the paths are all lit up. Overall it was a great value for the quality of resort this unit is in, very beautiful. The unit itself was well stocked with everthing we needed for cooking & bathing etc. Bed was very comfortable TV was good w/ cable. remote control air conditioning was very convienent. early the next morning of our stay we found a nice little gift bag with candies/cookies beach bags etc. this made us feel welcome & appreciated. mahalo

The kitchen circuit breaker was out the first day/night until maintenance came the next day to reset (three times). After that, no problems. I believe they put an order to replace the resort's electrical circuit breaker. No refrigerator the first day/night. Ice cooler used so food was okay. Ice machine and BBQ grill is a walk farther than one would have liked. Very comfortable bed. Soft towels, Clean bathroom. Great Vizio flat screen TV. Beach chairs are very handy. Very clean except we had scout ants on the counter with no food and killed to roaches by the door. But bugs are part of Kaua'i I suppose. Kitchen items well supplied although we did not cook other than toast and coffee. Ac worked very well. But did not use much and ceiling fan on low was sufficient. Wished there was free internet. Recommend exterminator to rid ants and roaches.

My wife and I have been going to the north shore of Kauai for several years now and can't imagine a location more beautiful. You can tell this condo has recently been redone and has all the amenities (new carpet and furniture, big flat-screen tv w/ DVD, etc.). Pretty comfy bed too. The kitchen area isn't big, but is well equipped - we cooked at least a half-dozen meals in it and also took advantage of the outdoor bbq's the resort has. Kauai has so much delicious local fish and vegetables it's a pleasure to cook there. It often rains late at night and when you wake up this condo has a beautiful view of the mountains with waterfalls galore. There's a nice lanai (where we'd eat breakfast) that overlooks those mountains and a jungle/forest that has wild avocado trees, mango and chickens (we ate avocado and mango but not the chickens). I've stayed on the ocean side of the resort and while you may get an ocean view, it's so much quieter and more peaceful on the mountain side. Considering we spend most of our time on the beach, it's a real treat to come back to the condo and sit on that quiet lanai without another person in sight - and the stars at night! In short, wish I was still there and would recommend it to anyone.

Wow. In a place like Kauai where prices can run pretty high, this place was a great value. When I say "value", I do not mean that the place was good considering the price, I mean that the place was amazing, and the price was amazing. The kitchenette has almost anything you would need to cook while you are there. We brought some extra kitchen items unnecessarily because we were unsure of the situation, and ended up not needing them. The coffee machine has a timer, which is not a big deal, but it's nice to have especially on vacation. A nice gift basket was also left welcoming us to the island. The lanai with the table and two chairs is great. We would have coffee every morning out there, and watch the roosters and chickens downstairs. We also were able to see someone trim the two palm trees right outside the lanai. btw, when they trim the trees, you can really see the mountains in addition to the garden in the back. The garden view was great also, and birds would sit on the railing just feet from us as we ate breakfast. The bed is large and comfy, and the tv worked well and had good features (i.e. plugging an mp3 player into it via USB cord to play music). The bathroom is clean. The luggage stands at the end of the bed made a convenient place to access our bags without being in the way.

Very important - this unit comes equipped with a full kitchen! Many of the other studios/1 bedroom units say they have a "kitchenette" but only have a microwave or toaster and coffee maker. Unit 1525 has a stove, fridge, dishwasher, sink and a stocked kitchen. It also has a pull-out couch that our 3 year old was thrilled with. We found this lovely condo because our little family decided to extend our stay for an extra week and put out the a.p.b the night before. Aloha Condos was incredibly quick, friendly and accomodating in their response. And as a bonus - the value for unit 1525 was amazing! Very comfortable and nicely appointed. This unit is also close to the pool. Hanalei Bay Resort is our preferred condo/resort on the North Shore. Beautiful, mature grounds, excellent waterfall jacuzzi and lagoon pool (prefect for kids). I could go on and on. Thank you!

The agents alohacondos.com, provided great service and their communication was excellent. The only drawback is that you share a lanai with the condo next door, but there are carefully placed plants so it's not really an issue. It also provided great views for my 2 year old son to do some chicken spotting. When we come back, we'll stay here again... for sure

Check-in was easy and quick. front desk gave us the room keys and had an attendant load up his golf cart with our belongings. He came to our room with everything (including all the groceries from Costco). The room was clean & neat & had all the ammenities seen on the video & pictures. The attached bedroom came in handy so extended family could have their own refrigerator, microwave & TV. The main room was large enough for cooking & dining for all 3. The view was clearly unobstructed from the Bali Hai view and coud see surfers daily in the water. The a/C takes a while to cool off room & there is no vent for cooking odors. Need to open doors for cross ventilation. The screen doors need maintenance. The W/D was large & ample & came w/soap & oxyclean detergent enough for 1 week. A slight musty odor from loft where king bed is located. There's Bbq'd food for purchase at the pool during lunch hours however no bfst or dinner cafe available. Location close enough to supermarket in Princeville w/reasonable prices & good selections. Haena state park & Tunnels beach only 30 min ride to north. The pool was adequate, pleanty of chairs & not crowded. Best overall: view, location, A/C, W/D, kitchen. On third floor -got a daily work out walking up & down.

We really enjoyed the condo and it exceeded our expectations, particularly given the value. The resort is great with a beautiful pool, access to the beach (wtih snorkeling / surfing) and extensive tennis options (courts, clinics, lessons, friendly people to play with). For the condo, having the kitchen was very helpful as the resort restaurant and bar are closed. The views are spectactular and the two floors of living makes the condo feel more like a house than a hotel room. While some of the fixtures are dated, they are nice, clean, and well attended. I am 6' 3" tall and didn't have a problem with the ceiling fan or slanted ceiling in the loft bedroom as did another reviewer. The mattress was also fine and comfortable different from the other reviewer's opinion. In terms of negatives, one does have to get used to the going up and down the stairs for the bathroom at night and the bedroom area could use a dresser. There was plenty of closet space throughout, but no dresser for clothing. (I'd recommend swapping the piano in the bedroom for drawers.) There is no elevator in the resort so while the top floor has the views, quiet, and space, you have to be ready to walk up and down the stairs. All in all, we had a great trip and really enjoyed our stay. Aloha Condos was prompt and courteous while also allowing us to check out late to maximize our time prior to the flight home.

This condo was perfect for us. We like to cook our own food so the kitchen was a bonus. There is a fresh fish market in Hanalei which we found early on that was spectauliar. The location was a bit remote which we also liked. Having the bed in the loft was a struggle as we are both tall so we needed to be conscious of the beams and the fan. The bed could use a new mattress, which I am sure could be a great expense in Hawaii. Kristen and the staff at Hanalei Bay were all very accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort Condo 4324. It was an affordable way to get away to paradise! The room was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The view was outstanding! We spent many hours on the Lanai resting, reading, and relaxing. It was quiet and felt very private. That alone was refreshing. The bed was adequate and there was a small refrig, microwave, coffee machine and toaster for breakfasts or leftovers. The resort's restaurant, the Happy Talk Lounge, was actually really good and had decent prices for Hawaii. They had good entertainment there just about every night and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. The pool at the resort is top of the line and Condo 4324 is really close to the pool and everything else, especially the beach. The beach area was perfect. You can snorkel right at beach, or go out a little bit to catch a wave on one of the calmer days. If you brought a bunch of stuff down and don't want to carry it back, no problem! There's a phone at the base of the trail that will call the front desk. They'll send a cart right on down to pick you up and take you wherever you want. We stayed a week there, came back refreshed, and would be more than happy to stay there again!

I can't rave enough about this amazing condo at Hanalei Bay Resort. We also stayed at a nice bed and breakfast on the South Shore and at the Sheraton in Poipu but this was, by far, our favorite place. Kristen, at Aloha Condos was very organized about confirming dates, payment, and sending directions. There was a large welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived, which left us feeling very appreciated. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished with an incredibly comfortable king sized bed, an impressive marble bathroom, plush rug, and a great view. There was just enough kitchen equipment to cover all out needs (eating breakfast in the room, storing and packing our own lunches, and reheating dinner leftovers). The resort itself is in the perfect spot for exploring the north side of Kauai (better than the south in my opinion), it has a great pool, and breathtaking views. The resort itself it about to undergo extensive renovation so it can only get better. We liked the room so much we wished we had spent out entire vacation here. I highly recommend it.

We were totally fine with no frills like room service or daily maid service. It was worth the cheaper prices when compared to other nearby hotels (e.g., St. Regis Princeville Hotel which was next door). The hotel property was very quiet and so relaxing! An employee told us the hotel was 80% full, yet we rarely saw other guests. The pool was fine and we enjoyed the 5-7 minute walk to the beach (the path winds through the trees behind the hotel). We liked the resort and pool even though the restaurant was closed. There was a really good lunch barbaque set up at the pool that was very reasonable priced and yummy food. The room was nicely furnished although smallish. It smelled a bit musty. For the price,$99.00 per night, it was a great value. They had a workable set up for a no kitchen unit with a closet that had coffee maker, microwave, toaster and some dishes. There was a dorm size refrigerator which allowed us to store wine and stuff for Mai Tai's and breakfast fixings. This is what we like and it was lovely having breakfast and drinks enjoying the beautiful view. The teak deck lounges were so comfortable you could take a nap. When the weather was good, it seemed perfect. When it rained hard and we couldn't get out so much, it seemed too small. I'd stay there again, especially if it wasn't the winter. We rented this condo after a paddleboard race my husband competed in from Molokai to Oahu. We had not been to Kauai since our honeymoon in 1978 and now I wonder why we waited so long! I was curious to see if the condo would be as great as the pictures looked. It did not disappoint. The view from the living room and bedroom was just as pictured. The view of Hanalei Bay is spectacular and this condo made it easy to enjoy. As we began to unwind, we started to notice all the amenities that the owners have provided for their guests: wonderful beach chairs, tennis rackets, coolers, etc. The condo came equipped with everything a renter would need to enjoy the beach, pool or tennis courts. Since dining out is so expensive, and not all that great, we also took advantage of the well stocked kitchen. The cookware is the same that I use at home so I felt right at ease. And, the knives were quality and sharp. How often do you find that in a condo? The furniture and decor was very tasteful and comfortable and I felt like I was living in my own home for the week that we rented. The condo was fantastic and the setting of the Hanalei Bay Resort is beautiful. Yet, I would say that the resort needs some tweaks. The waterfall pool is movie quality. Since the restaurant is gone, the boarded up walkway leading from the pool to the lobby detracts from the beauty of this setting. In an effort to provide guests with some poolside amenities, a tent has been set up to grill lunches. However, this temporary structure also looks quite tattered next to this stone pool. And, finally, the outhouses, although sort of hidden. Really? These should be addressed and then this beautiful ambiance would be even better. The tennis courts, towel service, cart service and grounds were incredible. These small tweaks would only enhance. This is a great place and a fantastic condo. I hope that the lobby, restaurant, and lounge will reopen but I realize that the economy may play a factor in that. However, we still enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back to this condo!

This is the most beautiful island. It did rain a lot, which was unusual this time of year, but that's what makes the island so lush and beautiful. We loved the cleanlines and modern appeal of the condo as well as the scenery from our deck. The only down side was phone by beach was out of order, so my husband couldn't walk down due to health reasons. He went one time with the understanding we could phone for a golf cart to bring him back up.

Kristen was great to work with making the reservations. She also had a gift bag waiting for us in the unit which we truly appreciated. The people who work at the resort are super nice and accommodating. The unit #6203 has been upgraded and professionally decorated. It is super nice and comfortable with upscale furniture, accessories and big flat screen televisions. The very large deck with really nice, expensive patio furniture allows you to feel a part of the magnificent view this unit has to offer of Hanalei Bay and the mountains...I believe Bali Hai. You can see white water views of the Bay and incredible sunsets from everywhere inside the unit and the extra large deck. Seriously, the view is off the charts. We would stay in this particular unit every time we come back to Kauai/Princeville if it is available.

This place was ideal. The resort is small and spread out so you don't feel as if you're living on top of each other. We loved sitting on the balcony with our home made breakfast overlooking the ocean and watching the surfers. It's only a short drive to the many shops and restaurants of Hanalei Bay. The apartment included all the little comforts of home including iPod docks - I love that. I would love to stay here again one day. :)

My husband and I recently stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort, celebrating our 5th anniversary. Our experience there exceeded our expectations in every way. The condo itself was well-maintained, beautifully furnished, and had an incredible view - perfect for the glorious sunsets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach at the property was lovely (though a bit of a walk), and the proximity to what we consider to be the best beaches on Kauai made it ideal, as we like to explore, snorkel, etc. The only problem we experienced while staying at the resort was other guests not following the no-smoking policy. We finally complained to the front desk about the people staying below us, and they took care of it right away. Other than that, perfection. We would definitely stay here again!!

I absolutely would recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay on the North Shore of Kauai. The setting is just beautiful and our mouths dropped wide open when we opened the slider door to the view from our balcony. Just breathtaking from all angles! The management staff for the condo was wonderful. We had one snag during our stay with a broken piece of furniture and they rectified it very quickly. The condo is very well maintained, updated nicely, and well stocked with kithchenware and beach gear. Also, having air conditioning was fantastic! It's quite hot on the island and coming home to a cool place each day was great. If we ever make it back to Kauai we plan on staying in this very condo... I wouldn't have changed a thing!

We stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort for 9 nights aug/Sept 2010. Our stay in unit 6203 was great. Beautiful views from the Lanai. We sat there almost every morning and evening to look at Hanalei Bay. The Beach gear was also very useful. The resort pool was nice, but we typically drove to a nearby beach. It would be great if they had more shade/umbrellas at the resort pool, there were only two for the entire pool. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was wonderful... the condo was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, well-stocked, and the view from the lanai was breathtaking. It would have been good to have a broom and/or vaccum cleaner in the unit, though. But the only real problem we had was some inconsiderate neighbors from time to time, people smoking on their lanais, parents letting their children yell and play on their lanai as early as 6:00 am, a group of young women laughing and talking loudly outside on the lawn at well past 11:00 pm. When we politely asked them to take their conversation inside, they were rude and told us we should shut our own doors. We did not come to Kauai to shut ourselves up in a stuffy condo, but to enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and solitude of paradise so this was a real disappointment. Maybe the quiet time hours need to be stressed more during the check in process? Nevertheless, we will be back - and none too soon! Thank you!

I grew up on a house on the beach Oahu so I have pretty high expectations for a vacation spot anywhere in Hawaii. We (my husband and two kids ages and 12) loved staying at the Hanalei Bay Resort - esp. at condo 6203. But we really hope our review doesn't mean that we won't be able to stay there next time we go to Kauai because its booked! Great service from the manager who came within an hour when we arrived and weren't able to find the inflatable bed for our kids to sleep on. She not only drove over and pulled it out of a locked closet but even inflated the bed for us - and offered to put the sheets on (we told her that wasn't necessary!) The condo has been beautifully remodeled - the only area that can use an upgrade is the kitchen but it was absolutely fine for our 4 night stay.

We did leave a couple of suggestions on a note pad upon our departure Kristen gave us an excellent rate and was excellent to communicate with. Fabulous updated condo with everything you need stocked (any kitchen tool you need, ziplocks, soap, detergent, foil, saran wrap, coffee filters, etc...oh and beach chairs and cooler were key!) Pack and play in the closet too - we don't have kids but if you do, a huge plus. Great a/c, beautiful furnishings, huge flatscreen HDTV/Blu Ray, nice kitchenware, good linens/towels, laundry, nice patio furniture, iHome clock/stereo in both rooms, comfy bed, spotless condo. The view FAR surpasses the photos - the ocean is much closer than it appears in pics and you can hear the pounding waves as you watch the sunset over Bali Hai from the balcony every night. We arrived in the dark and literally gasped at the view the next morning once we realized how awesome it was. The condo company was easy to work with and left a great gift basket in the condo. Directions were perfect, check in took 2 minutes, property was gorgeous and totally renovated, pool/jacuzzi luxurious with waterfalls, walk to beach was 5 minutes on a neat path through the trees. The beach was gorgeous! (And we are from Florida!) St. Regis next door has wonderful restaurants that you can use as well (Jean Georges Kauai Grill was awesome.) North shore is the BEST! I cannot imagine staying on the south shore once I've seen the north. Incredibly beautiful, not crowded or touristy, and the Princeville complex is great. Super running trails, nice mixed use community (houses, villas, condos, resort, golf courses, playgrounds, good grocery store, etc.) Hanalei town very close with many good restaurants too. Easy to drive all over the island as it is small but renting a car is a must. We travel a lot and highly recommend this place! Absolutely FABULOUS condo in a ridiculously wonderful setting! :) Don't think twice - book it! We'd return in a heartbeat!

The room was nice and clean. Recently updated. We had some ants in the bathroom but nothing too annoying. Also, there was a gecko or lizard of some sort living inside. We saw him and once or twice. The bed was comfortable. And the view of the lanai was nice. The resort is in a nice location. It is a little hard to get in and out of. And it a 5 minute drive from Hanalei. The beach is short walk down the hill. And it was pretty decent, and fairly quiet. The pool and hot tub are very nice. Best pool that we had out of the 3 places we stayed on Kauai. We got a fall price on the room which was very nice. I still do not understand this business of an out clean fee!!! I think it is the biggest rip off on the island. What hotel do you stay at where they charge you for cleaning the room when you leave?! Isn't that supposed to be part of the rental fee?! Seems like a nice little scam to get some extra money. When I shopped for rooms in that area, almost everybody had that, so good luck getting out of it.

This was an amazing condo. It is much more impressive in person than the pictures on the website. When you walk in , you are awe struck by the beautiful view of Hanelai Bay. The condo has a bar high table with 4 comfy bar stools on the lanai. We would sip our morning coffee, looking out at Hanelai Bay. One minute their was a light rain, and the next minute the sun was out and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow. This condo is totally updated I loved the beautiful granite kitchen with every convenience We stopped at Cosco, by the airport in Lihue {across from the mall} and stocked up on good wine, fish and steaks. We enjoyed grilling most nights and catching the sunsets as we ate dinner on the lanai. The pools were nice we enjoyed the circular pool, {very private} and at the large pool you could get grilled burgers from 11-2.We loved Hanelai Dolphin and one day picked up ahi and sushi to take back and enjoy on our lanai at sunset. Postcards and Mediteranean Gourmet are also good choices for dining out. We had a fun Saturday morning going to the farmers market in Hanelai {we loved Sal's salsa} .Their are great beaches, you can walk down to the beach at the resort,{if you are lugging alot beach cairs boogy boards, call for a tram to take you down to the beach, and you can call them to pick you up[ this beach is shared by the St Regis} The St Regis has a luau on Thursday nights and we enjoyed having a drink listening to great jazz and enjoying their spectacular view {that's on Sunday at 4} We did zip-lining at princeville ranch and that was a fun adventure. We can't wait to get back to this beautiful resort.

We just spend 5 wonderfull days and nights at your Condo 4323. This Condo is beautifully furnished and is in excellent conditions. Many thanks to the owners of this property! The kitchen is equipped with all you need - except a tea pot is missing - apparently tea is not the preferred drink on the island. We had stayed on Oahu, Hawaii, Maui and at last in Kauai. In total we were on the islands for almost 3 weeks - the stay at you place was the top. We would have liked to stay longer, but our return flights were booked, as was the Condo (people who know apparently recommend this Condo, which we are also doing to friends of us who want to come later this year.) the arrangements and booking through Mrs. Kirsten Greene and the immediate support when we had arrived has our great appreciation. All in all, we had a great time at your place, thanks again.

Hanalei Bay resort afforded us great views, a nice place to stay and wonderful time. The pool is great and the low-key pace was a plus. None of the stuffiness of the P'ville, but also don't expect luxury bathrooms, etc. The unit was attractively furnished, with a decent kitchen, beach toys, and great teak lanai chairs. HBR/Bali Hai Restaurant being closed during our stay and the prohibition on getting drinks by the pool were our only complaints. Had an almost 2 year old with us who loved the pool, the deck, etc. We would definitely consider this again for another Princeville trip.

We stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort condo #4323 (Oct 2008) after being upgraded (moved) from a smaller lock off room due to being informed that both the restaurant and lounge had been closed. This was our honeymoon after being married days previous at the Grand Hyatt Kauai south shore which we stayed for the week. Let me start by saying we are not condo people or had not considered being the type before our stay. We arrived at night and were amazed at the quality and decor of the condo and touched by a welcome basket filled with goodies and wine. In the morning I opened the shades and literally gasped at the most breathtaking view I had ever seen. The picture from the website does not do it justice, the view is AMAZING. The condo owners thought of everything from snorkel gear to candles every detail they included was so nice. We had a wonderful honeymoon and fell in love with the north shore! When you envision Hawaii this is it!!! We did have some issues with the dishwasher and drain in the bath but the condo was getting an overhaul the day after we left. Advice: 1. Have your breakfast and happy hour at sunset on the lanai. 2. Go to the fish market and grill for dinner 3. Zip line or hike. 4. Postcards Restaurant for a lovely meal. and 5. R E L A X

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at HBR in #4323. The owners have put much effort and care into their condo.; it is beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable, well equipped, well maintained and very clean. We enjoy cooking, and the kitchen had everything we needed (and more) to prepare meals. The BBQ centre was very convenient to the condo. Eating on the lanai was wonderful with the incredible views. The beautiful lanai furniture was one of the many highlights of this condo, with raised table/chairs to maximize the view, and comfy lounge chairs. The in-unit washer/dryer was nice to have, although for those renting a studio unit, there is a laundry facility just a few steps from this building. The king size bed was very comfortable. Both the living room and bedroom had a full wall of windows/patio doors to take in the magnificent views of the bay and Bali Hai. In all of our travels I don't think I've stayed anywhere with a view as beautiful as this! The owners have thought of just about everything for guests' enjoyment, with boogie boards, beach mats, umbrellas, cooler, etc. The resort itself is very nice ... beautiful landscaping/gardens, impressive & large free form pool with waterfalls, and nice lobby where the Happy Talk Lounge is. There are 8 tennis courts spread out throughout the resort. The walk to the beach down the paved path takes about 5 minutes .... it's a bit of a workout coming up, but we liked the exercise, and for those who want a ride, there is a call-box at the bottom to call for a shuttle to the top. Can't wait to go back!

We spent an amazing week at the Hanalei Bay Resort condo 4323 in Princeville, HI. The condo was clean and very tastefully decorated. The views from both the main lanai and the master bedroom lanai were breathtaking. Having a full kitchen was so nice; we bought fresh produce at the farmer's market a short distance from the condo, as well as fresh fish from the two local fish markets. We enjoyed many meals out on the lanai. Not only did we have a gorgeous view of the Hanalei Bay but also a view of Bali Hi and the waterfalls coming down from the mountain. We also enjoyed the short drive to several beautiful beaches. Our only disappointment was the fact that the Bali Hi Restaurant and Tiki Lounge were both closed for remodeling at the time of our stay. We would stay at the condo again if these amenities were available.

Positives: Clean and comfortable accommodation, great to be able to see the sunrise from the lanai, great resort atmosphere. Good location next to the Coconut marketplace and walk to the beach and other places of interest. Negatives: Space can be limited especially with the sofabed out, lack of coffee though the coffee maker was there. Parking is a big problem after 6 pm. and since our plane was at 6.30 am in the morning and it was raining, we had to walk in the rain carrying our luggage to the entrance while the driver had to walk to the end of the road to get the car in the rain. This was annoying.

Everyone is friendly, and if you need an extra place to escape to read a good book, the open lobby area is the perfect place to relax on comfortable furniture while listening to both music and ocean waves. The hot tub/pool area is an added bonus for everyone as it was never crowded. The condo was a little snug for 3 of us and could use a little more kitchen counter space, but we didn't go to Hawaii to stay in the condo, so it worked out just fine. We really felt like we were welcome guests in a friend's home.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was great. It was basically the size of a hotel room with a kitchenette crammed in, but it worked well for the two of us...not sure I could handle it with 4 people there. The unit was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. The ocean is visible from the lanai and it was nice to sit outside in the mornings and watch it or walk over and sit in the many chairs that were on the beach. It's right by the coconut marketplace and some of the best Shave Ice on the island (according to Kauai Revealed). Everything else in Kapaa is just a short drive away. One thing that was an issue was parking. There is not near enough parking for the units and if we got back any later than 6pm, we had to park on the road or in the parking lot next door. It wasn't a bad walk, but it was annoying when we got there the first night after dark and had to drive all over looking for parking. We didn't use the pool or other facilities, but they looked nice. Enjoy!

We stayed at Islander on the Beach condo 158 for our honeymoon. I've been to Kauai three other times and know the area well. I would highly recommend Islander on the beach, especially for someone looking for a convenient location on the east side of the island, and more-so for anyone looking for a quiet and less touristy accommodation - perfect for a honeymoon. The unit was very clean and well stocked with all the essentials as well as some nice unexpected extras for the beach, kitchen, and laundry. It's much nicer than staying in a hotel where you feel like you're surrounded by other people sharing the same amenities. The management staff was also very pleasant and helpful, with check-in & check-out a breeze. I forgot some important personal belongings in the room when departing and the management company collected them and mailed them to me without hassle. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!

So, it make is easy to drive half of the island one day and the other half the next day...Then you could easily get to any spot on the island from this location. Value of the condo was great...You get a little kitchenette with a microwave, sink and fridge...It doesn't have a stove/oven, but there are BBQ at the pool area where you can Q up some good grinds if choose to. The pool is open till 10pm and the pool bar is open till 9pm...The thing about Kauai is that shops close up early, so the pool is a good place to unwind after a funfilled day of activities (surfing, site seeing, hiking, kayaking/paddleboarding along the rivers and etc.)!

It's always a little nerve racking to book a room based on photos from thousands of miles away (Oklahoma) but this studio condo was perfect for our needs. The room was bright, clean and well decorated. The lanai opens to the beach and the pool, both which are just steps away. The bathroom is much larger than it appears in the photos. We arrived late in the evening (around 9pm) and had to unload our luggage at the curb and it felt as though we were putting the front desk folks out by asking them how to get to our unit. We received no assistance with a luggage cart as "they were locked up for the evening". I think is more the resorts issue and not who we rented the unit through and on another hand, front desk lady could have just been having a really bad day. The laundry room hours were a bit modest in my opinion, 8am - 10pm - no one wants to do their laundry during daylight hours while in Kauai! - Other than that, it was the perfect vacation. The other vacationers were pleasant, met a few at the designated smoking area and at the pool. We received a fantastic welcome bag on our door the first morning full of goodies, a very nice touch! Room was absolutely perfect. I couldn't have planned a better visit!

A lot crammed into a small space, not in a bad way, but I couldn't image sharing the condo with 4 people. Perfect for a couple, very comfortable with the modern technologies. The kitchenette served it's purpose and a couple we met at the pool were jealous we had a blender, which came in handy. The location of the room itself made it easy to walk to beach, pool, and parking and not deal with stairs.

The condo was clean and the complex was well maintained. We liked being being located right on the beach, which although it is not the most popular beach area on the island, was still perfectly fine for us because it was uncrowded and quiet. We liked being able to take a long walk down the shoreline, which has some rocky areas that have small tidepools with sealife in them. We were also able to sit on the patio of the condo and have an ocean view when it was too windy to sit on the beach. The condo was tastefully decorated also. There were some places to eat and shop at within walking distance and it is located roughly halfway between the north and south areas of the island. There was only one annoying negative---the parking situation is poor, and gets worse the later you come back--after dark it just sucks.

We made use of the fridge and the microwave. Glad to have cups, dishwashing liquid, sponge, and paper towel available for our use. The bath towels were soft, just like from home. I did have a visitor in the shower one day...kind of freaked me out. There was a cockroach about 2" long on the shower curtain. I guess being on the first floor, gives the critters better access to the unit. We didn't have any problems parking, but, we did come back before 8 pm every night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location. Service staff were very friendly and accommodating. Great location to travel anywhere on the island and be there within an hour and a half max. The location of this condo on the second floor was advantageous as you had more privacy than similar locations on the first floor due to heavy usage of the sidewalk next to the beach. Parking in the lot can be difficult to find at night and your only other option is to park on aleka Place (not in the Coconut Marketplace - they will tow). Several food options are available in the Coconut Marketplace or nearby - nothing fancy but good food nonetheless. The surf is rough so you won't be swimming in the ocean but the pool is a good option if you want to jump in the water.

The condo is very well located, but was not very clean. I saw 2 cockroaches during our stay. The bed cover and blanket would need to be replaced. The curtains were not clean and the rail system was broken. The chairs and the couch were stained. It's a shame because the resort was really good.
Manager response:
Thank you for your candid review. The homeowners have since replaced the rail system that had suffered from the constant salt and wind, and we have cleaned the drapes as well. The sofa and chairs will be steam cleaned November 8th. As for the comforter and blanket: both are brand new, so Im not sure why the suggestion was made they be replaced. I apologize for the roaches. They are one of the downsides of paradise. We keep bait traps in the units for them, but it is impossible to avoid them completely in the tropics. I hope you will return to our wonderful island and to Islander on the Beach again.

We can't stop thinking about our recent visit to Kauai and stay at the Islander Condo 225. It was perfect for our family. The place was absolutely what we needed. Every day we could chill at the end of our outings (snorkeling, boat/raft trip along Na'Pali coast, hiking, boogie boarding, etc.)and love where we were staying. Nice landscaping, great "open-air" lobby where we went to get our emails, etc. wood floors, ceiling fan, relaxing and pretty decor, great pool and hot tub, tiki torches at night, drinks by the pool, and best of all, our view--straight out to the ocean. Mornings breakfast on the balcony, sometimes dinner/take-out at night, too. The moon right there over the water, or a rainbow after a rain. There are loungers down by the water's edge, too. The kitchen is great, plates silverware, bowls, blender, s & p, coffee filters and machine, microwave, frig. We had breakfast at home and two dinners at home (Bbq's are by pool). The only suggestion would be to have one more place for towels to dry out during the day. There were four of us, and two towels/day, without any kind of maid/laundry because it's not a "hotel" in our unit. With us using towels at the pool and our own at the beach, one more hanging bar in the BR would be good. The beds are good (and I'm very picky), pillows perfect. I want to return here and stay at the same condo. Love it. This was the best vacation I've had in ages. Love Kauai, too. Not a single big city, the whole island is gorgeous.

We stayed here for four nights in March 2011. The location of the condo is perfect. It is just steps from the ocean and we left the patio doors open at night to listen to the waves. We had some excitement with a tsunami warning after the Japanese earthquake, but first Kristen let us know, and then someone from the management knocked on the door to let us know we should evacuate and explained where to go. The condo is about the size of a hotel room, but with the small kitchen and the balcony, there was more than enough room. There is a great restaurant within a very short walking distance, and the little town of Kapa'a is a short drive, is a charming small town, and has everything you need. Being on the eastern shore was the perfect location for us, as it was easy to drive to all other parts of the island, and was a quick drive to the airport the morning we left. All in all, I highly recommend this condo.

Nice location and size. The unit was very musty smelling and was very wet feeling in there. Was so humid we had to sleep on towels the sheets felt wet. The TV was very hard to see. We only wanted to watch the news. I would recommend to a friend only if the price was lowered.
Manager response:
We are sorry you were not comfortable and wish we had known at the time.
This condo is absolute ocean front with wonderful tropical sea breezes when we have trade winds, however things in Hawaii get very humid when we have Kona conditions, which we have had the past few weeks, and that brings on dampness and mustiness very quickly. You really cant get closer to the ocean than this unit, so it is impossible to keep it absolutely dry.
That said, a brand new air conditioning system was installed a month ago which has a dehumidifier cycle as one of the key functions. We would have been happy to assist with the dampness issue had we known you were uncomfortable. The air conditioner manual is also in the condo.
I was in this unit yesterday and did not notice any mustiness, so I think recent use of the air conditioner and the return of the trade winds dried the unit out. I will examine the TV to see if the salt air has shortened its life span.

The condo was very clean and nicely furnished, the bed comfortable and the kitchenette was sufficient for the amount of eating in we did. The ocean front location was outstanding and convenient for nearby shops. We enjoyed the sunrise each morning and with a 2nd floor unit, felt secure leaving the door open at night for the fresh ocean air and sounds. The Bbqs and tables near the pool allowed us the opportunity to invite guests over with plenty of space. Having previously lived on Kauai for more than 10 years and running a service business, we have been in numerous rental properties and were pleased with Islander #225. We most definitely recommend this unit for location, comfort and price.

I didn't know what to expect when I booked this condo but Iotb250 definitely surprised us in many good ways. From the moment we opened the door, we saw that they have some boogie boards, beach towels, footballs ready for us in a basket. Then we saw that they left a goodie bag with water, chocolate, stationaries, etc which I think is a really nice touch. Walking out to the lanai, we found the amazing view of the ocean + beach chairs that we can carry around during our trip. The bed was really comfortable. The toiletries were abundant & environmentally friendly. It has microwave, fridge, wifi, TV, DVD player, CD player, coffee maker + all the coffee/tea packs. Dawn even left bunch of postcards you can take away as souvenier. Overall, Iotb250 definitely exceeds my expectation in many ways. One constructive comment would probably to add microwave safe plates/bowls. I think the ones provided said "not microwave safe". I could be wrong :)

There was nothing to complain about our condo #250. It was exactly has specified and a few extras as well. The sheets were wonderful, the towels plentiful, the amenities amazing. Fun to meet all of the other guests at the bar-b-q in the evening as well. Only caveat were the disco boys who brought their version of music enjoyment on a boom box during pupu hour. The binder in the room brought us to some great restaurants that we would not have found from the Mermaids Cafe to Oasis for happy hour and live music. Hated to come home!

Please dont hesitate to contact us during your stay if there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable. The condo looked exactly like the photos - very neat and clean with many special touches such as the island music CD, beach chairs, room safe and even a boogie board. The frig (no freezer), toaster and coffee maker enabled us to enjoy breakfast on our balcony every morning while watching the sun rise and listening to the waves. We especially appreciated the option for early check-in and late check-out given our flight schedules. We took advantage of the on-site laundry since we'd spent 10 days on the Big Island prior to our visit. The facilities were very clean and worked great. You are not close enough to walk downtown, but there are a few restaurants within walking distance. We would recommend Islander on the Beach Condo 250 to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax.

The lanai was a great spot to sit in the robes they supplied and watch the sunrises over the ocean every morning while I enjoyed the Hawaiian coffee. We recently stayed for eight nights at Islander on the Beach condo 250. It was awesome!! It was exactly as promised in the description and photos if not better The lanai overlooks the ocean so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves every night. Everything in the condo was new, clean and exactly as promised. We loved the fact that there were beach chairs and towels and having a safe in the room to lock our valuables was perfect. The kitchen although small had all the amenities that we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the pool & hot tub everyday as well as a few drinks at the poolside bar. During our stay we were lucky enough to have K-13 (one of Kauai's monk seal population) come up on the beach for a nap right outside the condo. It was truly magical. Hopefully you will be as lucky. I have no hesitation recommending this property.

We loved staying in Unit #250 at the aston Islander on the Beach! Kristen was wonderful in the reservation process, answering questions and following up even before our arrival, as well as helping us with some details on our "move-in" day. The unit itself is perfect for relaxing, I loved having coffee and breakfast on our ocean-front lanai every morning before we went off on another Kauai adventure! The free wi-fi was soo much nicer than having to go to the lobby to access the internet. At the end of the day, it was wonderful to lay down in the comfortable king sized bed with luxury linens, and listen to the waves all night long. The condo is set up with everything we needed, including beach towels for our snorkeling days, and low back chairs (especially handy for watching fireworks on the fourth of July). It is close to many restaurants, and Foodland (the best grocery I went to on our visit) is only a few blocks away. I only wish we could have stayed longer...maybe we'll just have to come back!

It makes us want to go back for the staff alone. Our suite was very clean and we left it very clean. There is one minor complaint - it was difficult to pull the curtains back and forth. Also, even though we knew there would not be a stove top in the kitchen, we did miss not having an element to cook. A suggestion to you is to install a one-burner element in the suite. I think it would go a long way, as cooking in the microwave is limiting.

We enjoyed our stay at Islander on the Beach. It's a beautiful setting on the beach and it's hard to beat the value. However, calling it a condo is misleading. It's really just a hotel room, and not a huge one. I've stayed at many hotels, mostly chain hotels, and had much larger "ordinary" hotel rooms than this was. It was clean and comfortable, but we didn't really have a place to put our suitcases. The closet was hard to use for clothes because it is used to store several items for use by the room guests (ironing board, boogie board, blankets, etc. A nice hotel room, just not a condo.

We really enjoyed our stay in 259. I think the only thing that condo would really benefit from is a toaster over rather than just a plain toaster. We loved the location as it made it easy to take trips to either side of the island. Parking was ok and could be a little challenging when returning in the evenings. We loved our view of the ocean. The condo was very clean and amenities were clean and up to date. We would go back again!

The house was great. We had 2 toddlers plus 4 adults. Our plans for beach going were limited due to torrential rains and flooding. The house was big and open, allowing the toddlers to run. The hot tub was a great back-up to the beach, and we used the pool too. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The location is great for restaurants and grocery stores. We enjoyed many meals at the local restaurants. The only negative was the roosters waking us up way too early.

What a fabulous vacation...except for the roosters. We managed to move all but one of the roosters out of the lot next to the beach house by banging pots and pans in the area to help them move on. We did this about sunset time. The house was very conducive for the six of us to enjoy a ten day stay in Kauai. It had everything we needed from kitchen supplies to boogie boards to a gas grill to beach towels. We could walk to downtown Kapaa on the trail located just outside the door. The two six-foot glass sliders and screens off the living room were delightful with the sun shining and even when it rained. The lanai has a dining table and six chairs that was perfect seating at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Kauai is a beautiful island with plenty of places for sight-seeing and lots of shops in the small towns all over the island. It is a place we would definetly visit again and the Beach House is where we would stay.

Well-decorated and excellently maintained beach house. This 3 bedroom house is ideal for a family with young children. A small yard pool and a close "baby beach" provide fun water features. Lots of dishes, pots and pans, soaps, towels, spices and Ziploc bags set this far above the usual rental amenities. The decor is pretty and beachy but relaxed. Our group had 3 generations, including a very busy toddler, and we all loved the property. Unusually comfortable beds! The house is located on a great coastal walking and bike path and just 2 blocks off the main road. The house is in Kapa'a (yes, the "Honeymoon in Vegas" Kapa'a), a great location. It is close to the airport and half-way between Poipu and Hanalei. Loads of cafes, shops and groceries within 5 minutes. The house is the middle unit of a tri-plex; we never saw or heard any other residents. While there are stairs at the entry, the house and yard are one level and good for children or the mobility-challenged. There is an unobstructed view of the ocean, and the beach is just across a vacant lot. The owner is clearly very responsive to renters. We enjoyed the beach toys and the great information binder. A better house than many far more expensive vacation rentals.

The Moana Kai House was ideal for our family of 5 to have for our week in Kauai. The layout was perfect and the amenities of beach view/access,bike trail, pool, hot tub and plenty of space exceeded our expectations. The location in Kappa was within walking distance to retail and also central to the island for day trips both south and north. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. The wild roosters and chickens are loud starting about 2 am. This is common throughout the island so be aware.

My husband and I recently stayed a week at Beach House B for our honeymoon and the owners did a great job in making sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing week. The view of the beach was just as you see in the pictures and it was great to relax in the hot tub at night and watch the waves and kite surfers as the sun went down. There are lots of grocery stores and shops nearby to walk to so the location was handy. It rains a bit more in Kapaa than it does on the south and west shore so we found that we drove down to Poipu and to the West shore several of the days we were there to find the sunshine. But the local kayak tour to Secret Falls was definitely worth it! The house has internet, full kitchen facilities and even netflix (although for some reason we couldn't get the sound to work with netflix but that was likely user error). And yes there are lots of roosters as we had read in previous reviews but we went there prepared with ear plugs which definitely helped! The only downside I would say is that the house is located right next to a park that seems to attract locals (I won't say shady locals as we never actually had any problems but...you get the point) so we had our guard up a little bit. But there is a long boardwalk starting from the park alongside the ocean which is great for running or walking so all in all our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable.

The Moana Kai beach house had everything we could have asked for and more- at a very reasonable price. Makes you wonder why anyone would ever want to stay in a hotel. How could you beat 3 comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms; huge, beautifully decorated living areas and outdoors!- your own private hot tub- and almost private pool? All arrangements were perfect and the owners of the beach house thought of everything you could possibly need. We especially appreciated the beach towels, chairs and the fully-stocked kitchen. A perfect little beach for relaxing and sunbathing was two minutes away and we took advantage of the paved walking trail that was just steps away. We love the low-key style of Kapaa with its great shopping, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants (the Olympic Cafe became our favourite- it had a nice variety of food for all ages.) Kapaa is also very central to everything so that a trip to Hanalei and the NaPali cliffs is as easy as an excursion to Poipu. We did have a bit of an issue with the roosters- but you do actually get used to them and find it quite easy to fall back to sleep. I think I would try ear plugs the next time. Some people might be put off by the public dock that is right next door- and the-less-than-swanky neighbourhood- but that didn't bother us at all- the beauty of the home more than made up for the surroundings.

Very comfortable accomodations, convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, shopping and bike rentals for the bike path. Only suggestion would be to add a first aid kit to the unit (husband cut his foot while snorkeling) and a full length mirror for us short types (my Mom taught me to always check myself in a full length mirror before leaving the house, you never know what you'll find!) And...I challenge anyone to find a location on the island where the roosters aren't an issue. They were great natural alarm clocks!

The condo was very nice, well decorated, and very well stocked which was appreciated. The beds were fabulously comfortable and the hottub was a nice surprise. The three drawbacks to the condo however were: 1) it is set *very* near a park where the local homeless would hang out till late at night - not a place I would recommend bringing young children too. 2) The beaches on the entire east side of Kauai were not swimable when we were there and it is a long drive to get to a beach that is swimable. 3) There are roosters RIGHT OUTSIDE the master bedroom suite that commence between 4-5am EVERY morning. They are ~10 ft away from the window and there is NOTHING you can do about it. (We wondered why the condo came w/ earplugs, and now we know.) Hard to have a nice vacation when you can't sleep through the night. sigh It's unfortunate that such a lovely condo had these drawbacks, it was a nice place, but we couldn't recommend it to friends given the roosters and location.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and for staying at my beachfront home in Kauai.
My home is adjacent to Lihi (pronounced Lee Hee) beach park and boat ramp in Kapaa. As of May 2010, there are *no longer* any homeless people hanging out in the park. The Kauai Police Department (KPD) has put up new signs and are now enforcing the following illegal behaviors - overnight camping, drinking alcoholic beverages and parking for more than 24 hours. These rules are strictly enforced by the KPD and any loud noises after 9PM are also not allowed in the park. I've been assured by the KPD - and have direct personal experience - that they will enforce all of these rules, especially when contacted via phone. They also patrol the parks but not constantly. If there are disturbances please contact me or the KPD directly and we'll make sure it's resolved immediately.
I have a 1 year old and have had only positive experiences with people we meet when toddling around the park day or night.
As with any beaches in Hawaii, the conditions can vary from day to day - even from hour to hour - and can run from calm to rough. You must have been in my home during a rough time as I have swum along the ocean just across the bike path bridge (100 feet from the home) dozens of times when the conditions where calm. This is typically in the summertime but can be also any time of the year.
We have recently had problems with the roosters due to construction on a home nearby (which is now complete) and the roosters had moved in closer to our home during construction. This is no longer the case and I am constantly addressing this island-wide issue on a local basis and will continue to do so moving forward.
Given that my home is at the trail head of the new (2009) five mile beach path and is only a 10 minute walk from dozens of restaurants and miles of beaches, I hope that you had a chance to enjoy some of the reasons that I bought in such a great location. The beach path is going to be extended in 2011 to Lydgate Park will continue even further south in the future.

The rooms were well stocked with amenities & the beds were extremely comfortable! The louvre windows throughout the property allowed for a great trade wind breeze to come through all of the rooms also. Jim's welcome hamper was also greatly appreciated & got us into just the right mood for the rest of our holiday. We were able to walk easily up to the shops & restaurants nearby (Mermaids Ahi taco's are still making me salivate!) & were able to drive to other beaches & sights without trouble. This is a beautiful beach house with lots of space and great furnishings. You couldn't ask for a better central location to cover this side of the island. The dipping pool was perfect for our 3 and 5 year olds, as well as us! Only downside, I believe there was a hot tub that wasn't working and the cats in heat (crying in the early morning) were far worse than the usual roosters the island has. Ear plugs were provided though! Would love to go back.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review.
The hot tub on the lanai is fixed. It's a great place to kick back and soak while watching to ocean waves rolling onto the sandy beach right in front of the beach house. It's only a few steps to the cool dipping pool.
The feral cats were "evicted" last year when I sent more than 18 of them to live at the humane society.
The roosters have also been given their move-out notices and haven't been an issue this year (2009).
Now a peaceful nights sleep is what you can expect. It's what my family and I had experienced living in our home from February through July this year. We welcomed our new son, Kai, into the world here in May and the sounds of the waves lulled him to sleep every day and night.

Recently they have added a great little walking path down along the shoreline, giving easier access to the beaches and to downtown Kapaa. The shops and restaurants are a quick 5 minute walk from the condo. I can not imagine an easier place to relax in the evenings. Listening to the waves outside the front doors, and enjoying the beautiful furnishings and decorations inside. I loved the bright, vivid paintings throughout the house. My favorite thing about this house, besides its easy comfort, is that the sun rises directly outside the front doors. The first rays of dawn shine strait out of the ocean directly towards you. Breathtaking.

It feels like we are staying in a friends home, not a rental property. Great job Dornfelds!

This is THE most beautiful, calming, relaxing and classy home I've ever stayed in for a vacation. I loved the spacious and open floorplan of the home, the kitchen is fully equipped with *everything* to cook gourmet meals every day (I saved $$ on being able to cook the clean kitchen, and I LOVED doing so with the sliding glass doors open while overlooking the pacific ocean and with fresh breezes coming in!). The house is decorated beautifully with original and inspiring artwork throughout the home, and every piece of furniture is comfortable and pleasing to the eye. There is a sense of Zen throughout the home. It felt like my long-lost home right away and I got (way too) comfortable right away. The bathrooms are squeaky clean and showers are so comfortable; the master bedroom is HUGE and sensual, the 2nd bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean with direct sunshine and moonlight flooding in :-) I loved waking up to free- roaming roosters every morning and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean every night... yess... I loved being able to sunbathe privately in the front yard that overlooks the ocean! and having access to everything the entire island has to offer quickly because this property is located right in the middle of the coastline which makes it an equi-distant drive to the North or South shore. I just loved that I was able to truly relax in a clean, visually beautiful and stimulating environment. I will vacation at this home again and again in the blink of an eye when I go back to Kauii. My experience in this home was a healing and loving one and I can't wait to be back...

We were two couples who rented this house. We had never been to Kauai before. the house was absolutely beautiful--the funiture--the pool--facing the ocean. There were some issues for us--- 1)There was no air-conditioning----coming from California, where we have no humidity with our heat, it was hard to dry off, and sleep. I inquired about the air-conditioning before deciding to rent it, and was told that there was a strong breeze that came through the house, so we wouldn't need it. Well, there was a strong breeze, but it never came in any of the bedrooms, because of the weird windows. And even with the breeze, it was HOT! 2) Another thing that you can't escape on this island---rousters----everywhere !! They start crowing around 4 AM. And you can't close your windows, or you will suficate. We won't be back, we like the Big Island and Maui better, but anyone who can tolerate the humidity, and crowing rousters will love staying here.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review.
You must have been here during an unusual time when the trade winds were not blowing - sorry it was so hot for you. I've doubled the window size for air flow in the master bedroom since your stay. I've been staying in my home for the past two months and the trades have been blowing strong and steady every day, which is typical.
The roosters have been moving on to other areas of the island due to my rooster relocation program and "encouragement" to leave the area. :)

We loved the proximity to the airport yet it was quiet and private. Groceries, restaurants, gas, etc. were close by and all the locals were friendly and helpful. The home worked well for our large group of family. The hot tub is too small and not of commercial quality. The house although nice is dated. The kitchen could use new appliances and a good cleaning. The small unheated pool was adequate only since no one else in the tri-plex used it. This is the only time we have rented a "Vacation Rental" and although the owner and local manager were as helpful as they could reasonably be the property really is not suitable for commercial rental. I am a Resort Owner and our standards are much higher in the Industry. The beds are first class as are the bathrooms. Fairly close to the ocean and very pleasant Lanai in good or bad weather.

The condo is beautifully decorated yet functional with all the amenities anyone would ever need. The pictures do not do it justice and everything far exceeded our expectations. My only hesitation in writing this review is I want to keep this wonderful condo all to myself so it will be available when we are back next year. This rental is an exceptional value. First, it is air conditioned unlike other units, notable the Bali just across the street. Unit 24C has obviously been furnished by a professional interior decorator, and it is gorgeous. There is surround sound system for all the three televisons in the unit. All the amenities for a condo are available: a kitchen, a breadkfast nook, a dinning area, dishes, utensils, and a washer and dryer. And, it is very quiet. We owned a unit is Lanikai in Honolulu and rented it on Vrbo that had private access to the ocean. The unit in Kauai, 24C, compares well even without the ocean access and is a better value. For three nights in late February my family rented Townhome 24c and we very extremely satisfied with our experience. I was traveling with my wife, 13 month old daughter, and mother in-law. We enjoyed the large common areas and the individual bathrooms were a huge plus. Washer & dryer accommodations came in handy and multiple kitchen supplies allowed us to cook-up a feast and enjoy dinning on the balcony nightly. The swimming pool at Nihilani was superb and somewhat quiet which made it easier on my daughter and more relaxing for my wife. We enjoyed morning jogs and leisurely evening strolls on the nearby paved paths. Waling distance to the grocery store and a quick 10 minute drive to Hanalei beach made the location perfect.

I was very impressed with all the extras, like high quality knives and cookware, a full spice cabinet, kitchen appliances, boogie boards and sand toys, guidebooks and dvds. It felt like the owners must have lived there themselves bec. they thought of everything and didn't skim on buying cheap kitchen stuff bec it was a rental. The island styled decor was so tasteful and home-y, down to every last detail; it felt like you were living in your own island luxury dream home. Hawaiian style was authentic and upscale, staying true to an island theme without being cheesy or touristy.

This unit was wonderful. We've stayed in a lot of rental and time share units and this condo was the best equipped of any we've come across. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and more, the linens were high quality, the things we needed for the beach -- chairs, boogie boards, beach bags, towels -- were all there, the TV and other electronics were high end (including a blue ray DVD and sound surround system), and the owners had even provided a great selection of new Dvd's for both families and kids, as well as island guide books. It was just fabulously comfortable for the six of us (four adults, two kids) and made a great home base and place to relax after a day in the sun. The only negative was a bit of traffic noise from the road because the unit is on the outside of the development. But this really only affected the master bedroom and everything else was so great we didn't mind the noise. We would definitely stay here again!

We spent a week here with my family and had an amazing trip. The condo is absolutely beautiful, with every amenity you could possibly want. It was great to have a full kitchen so that we could prepare healthy meals for ourselves. The beds were comfortable and I loved going out on the lanai's for early morning relaxation. We had occasion to contact the property manager a few times and she was wonderful to work with. The condo has several beach toys in the garage (boogie boards, some snorkel equipment, sand toys) which were very nice to have on hand. The only negative we could think of was that the pool in the condo complex has some pretty strict rules. It wasn't really a great place for kids to go. It was immaculate and a beautiful pool/hot tub, but every time we went to swim we were told we couldn't do what we were doing. Basically, the rules are no noise, no pool noodles, no rafts, no snorkels, etc. I think they should just put up a sign that says no kids because kids inevitably will make a little noise while swimming. The resident manager who drives around all day making sure people are following the rules in the complex could relax just a tad. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub by ourselves, but our kids couldn't have any fun. I wouldn't decide against this condo based on that however, you don't really need a pool when you're this close to beautiful beaches! We can't wait to return to Kauai and our fabulous "Hawaii house" as the kids call it.

This condo had all the amenities of home. With extra goodies around every corner (beach mats, towels, some snorkel gear) and the kitchen was equipped to our liking (blenders, utensils, bowls, pans etc.). The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The decor was tastefully done. With our love of the beach, the washer and dryer was very handy to wash out the swimsuits and towels. We traveled around every ounce of the island and thought Princeville was by far the most beautiful. We were a little weary of everything being more expensive on the North shore, but to our surprise, it was very similar. There was one surprise, we left the screen open and a really fat cat called PT Cruiser that wondered in. He said his Hellos and was out the door. Just a neat experience all around. Much Mahalo for a wonderful much needed vacation. I would recommend this property to families, couples, etc. (*There were stairs, so not handicapped accessible and the bedrooms and 2 of the bathrooms were upstairs. Not a problem at all with our family...)

Unit 27a at Nihilani at Princeville is a clean, spacious, nearly new condo that comfortably could sleep 8 people. We were a party of 4 and never felt cramped or crowded. The townhome has a fully equipped, modern kitchen with top of the line appliances. The beds are comfortable and the living and dining room furniture are attractive and well-maintained. There is a flat screen tv in the living room hooked to cable and offering many channels. There is also cable internet access which is super fast. The unit is air conditioned, though we found that by making use of the screen doors and ceiling fans, we didn't need to use the electricity. There are 3 lanais, two upstairs and one downstairs with comfortable outdoor furniture for relaxation. The large washer and dryer upstairs was a godsend for towels and clothing. The unit came equipped with plenty of beach towels, boogie boards, beach mats, and assorted beach toys. There is even a high chair for a family with a small child. The unit is in the heart of the Princeville residential area, a mile from Foodland market and 10 minutes by car from the swimming beach at Hanalei. Queen's Bath and Hideaways Beach are a 20-30 minute hike for those who don't mind making their way down (and back up) the steep cliffs. There is also a black-bottom pool with a small waterfall on site. Only wish it had been open beyond 9 PM. All in all, a lovely condo and a great vacation and at very reasonable price!!

Most pleasant and we did need the a/C at all, although it covers the entire unit if needed. This past August my wife and I took my mother on her dream vacation to Hawaii. We stayed in condo 27A at Nihilani at Princeville. This condo is beautiful. It has everything from a kitchen with everything to an flat screen HDTV, perfect for watching the movies you recorded that day. It is very clean and spacious and Princeville is the perfect place to have your home base when you are staying on Kauai. This condo was the perfect place to come back and relax after a day of site seeing or playing on the beach. There are several beaches close by and great jogging/walking paths. Our only regret is having to leave. If you are thinking about renting a place in Kauai, this is the one.

When we come back to Kauai, we will definitely come back to Nihilani 27A!

We had a great time in 27 A. It was beautifully furnished, felt very safe in a good neighbourhood. We really felt at home instantly and it was very relaxing. We spent only 5 nights but could have easily spent 2 weeks :-) Although it advertized only 2 full rooms, it had indeed 2 King size bed bedrooms plus a 3rd room with 2 single beds, so it can fit 6 very comfortably. Bathroom in the master bedroom is really. Good quality linen and towels, and even beach towels are supplied. There is a good HD TV with Hifi sound and a great selection of programs. The pool and jacuzzi are quiet and relaxing. The small shopping center at the entrance of Princeville is very convenient and has a few restaurants (e.g. C&J's Steak & Seafood). North of Kauai was one of our best places in Hawaii and it took minutes from 27A to reach beautiful sandy beaches, one different each time, Hanalei being very close with its shops and restaurants (less than 5 minutes). It took typically 40 minutes to drive to Lihue for the helicopter tour, and less that 1h30 minutes to drive to Waimea at the other end of the island. Princeville feels much greater than Waipuli or Poipu in my opinion, with great tropical vegetation and the moutain right behind. So, no doubt we enjoyed 27A ! ;-)

This was our second visit to Princeville and the beautiful Island of Kauai. This home was wonderful, perfect for our family. Clean, well set up and organized! We will travel here again! Be sure to take advantage of the great Farmer's Markets and local produce and fish! We were advised to purchase a book about things to do in Kauai, and it made our trip even more perfect. It contained suggestions of secluded beaches and local venues. We beached, snorkeled, hiked and Kayaked. A perfect relaxing trip!

There are a lot of great beaches close by and the (queens bath) just up the road. Overall we had the best vacation in Kauai and the Nihilani felt a lot like home in paradise.

This property was great for us. First I want to say that it looks just like the pictures and is beautifully furnished. The rooms are huge and there is plenty of space to make yourself at home. And I must say it was nice having a parking garage. It's quiet and peaceful as it is tucked away from any traffic, and it is right near the shopping center which was very convenient. Great time at the Nihilani from Sierra Madre on 10/12/2011 said:

Robert Hryniewich from Aurora, CO on 09/29/2011 said:
I have to say the unit was very nice on the inside but the rest of the complex was terrible. Parking is horrible, location of the unit was bad as we heard traffic noise until 2am every morning. The pool was suppose to be heated but it wasn't. The pool was so cold we actually had to use a pool in a different complex. We had the management jump down our throats regarding a car being parked in Vistor parking in front of the unit. He was so rude to my niece that nobody needs to be treated this way especially a vistor to the island. Overall Unit a+ Complex and Management F. After reading reviews from other people that have stayed in this complex they also have had siimilar run ins with your onside management. I seem to think this complex is mainly residents not majority rentals. I wouldn't stay in this complex again just due to the way we were treated.
Manager response:
Dear Guest, I am delighted you liked the unit and gave it an A+. I am also very sorry you had a difficult time with the onsite management. About 30% of the units at Nihilani are occupied by year-round residents, and we have appealed to the management company to be more lenient with the rules as the majority of people there are on vacation. I agree the parking is difficult at Nihilani, but each unit does come with a 2 car garage, so for the majority of guests parking is never an issue. The pool at Nihilani is not heated, and Im not sure where that might have been advertized online. I hope you will reconsider and stay with us again. Nihilani is one of the few new developments with central a/c and has a beautiful pool and BBQ area complete with restrooms and shaded areas. It is a great place for couples and families alike.

Most of the times pictures are a lot nicer than the actual thing when it comes to staying at a hotel or vacation rental, but this town-home exceeded our expectations. For 6 adults there was more than enough room to relax independently or gather in a common area. The entire home was very tastefully decorated and the beds were all very comfortable. The home comes complete with everything you could possibly think of to make your stay one to remember. Boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs, and so much more. The residence it self is in a very nice area, and in our opinion one it looked the nicest from the outside. Kristen was wonderful to work with by e-mail and equally as helpful when we called to ask about a trip we wanted to make. The only thing is that Princeville its self is at the north of the island so we spent a lot of time going one direction because we wanted to see things all over the island and you cant go very far to the west before the road ends. Otherwise i'm pretty sure we had the best deal in all of Princeville!

Nihilani 3a was a great townhome for our family. The 2 story layout was fantastic! The third bedroom with twin beds was great for our teens. The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked. I appreciated the full size washer and dryer. We thought everything and everyone we worked with in the rental was wonderful. These items truly not bother us, but if you are looking for a few minor improvements...sheets on master bed were a bit large and slid some, sofa could stand to be cleaned, and slightly larger wastebaskets in the bathrooms would be helpful. It was wonderful with an excellent location to many activities on the island. Thank you!

I am very reluctant to write this review. I feel like this place is a hidden gem, and don't want anyone else to find out about it so that I can rent it again for our next visit to Kauai :) The townhouse is large, clean, very nicely decorated, comfortable and well-stocked. The beds are comfortable, and the AC works well. Kristen at alohacondos pretty much thinks of everything you could need. Speaking of Kristen, the manager, she was very easy to work with, easy to get a hold of, and very accomodating. The townhouse community is in a good location. Close to all the beautiful north shore sights and beaches, without being TOO far north. It IS a bit of a drive to get down to the south shore and kapaa/lihue etc, but you get used to the driving. The grounds of the community are very pretty. The pool was a great spot to hang out when we couldn't swim in the river run-off water after huge rains ("brownwater"). The only small negative of this rental that I can think of is that a couple of the rooms are a little dark (family/living room and master bedroom). I think it's because the bulbs are low-watt florescents, and I can understand the desire to conserve energy and keep electricity costs down. Other than that, the place is perfect and I would definitely stay here again!

The garage was stocked full of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and even a skimboard. Honestly couldn't ask for more. Even the neighbor was awesome. Some of you might be stoked to find out who it is. Location was great. Nice and quiet, the supermarket is close, Hanalei was right down the road. Will definitely stay here again without hesitation. Nothing that I didn't like about the house. The only inconvenience was the garage remote having to be pressed about a dozen times before it actually opened or closed. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing vacation with nothing to ever have to worry about.

Our stay with Aloha Condos at Nihilani 3a were the pinnacle of our 1 week stay in Kauai. We walked in to a welcome basket, and had at available to us high end utensils, modern and clean accomodations, plush towels and beach towels, an awesome master bath with jacuzzi tub and separate shower, toys, games, baby gear, beach gear -- even laundry soap! everything was thought of. It was like staying in a high end hotel, vs. a For Rent by Owner property. For a fraction of the cost we had 6 adults and one child stay comfortably! We enjoyed watching the rooster and his family of hens every morning, and making dinner for ourselves in the evening. The location is in a great location in Princeville, just a short drive from the Princeville shopping area, beautiful beaches and hiking trails, and, in the opposite direction, the Lighthouse. The condos are quiet, walkable, and I believe the newest development as of 2008 in Princeville. There is a small, private pool a short walk from the unit; my only wish is that the grill was not away from the property. We'll definitely be back again!

Julie N. from Pleasanton, CA on 08/05/2011 said:
Condo was very nicely maintained and comfortable. Things that I especially liked about it were: kitchen was well stocked with very nice dishes, pots, pans, utensils, condiments--this was a pleasant surprise since I've stayed at luxury condos that were not as well appointed as this condo; lots of good, clean, fluffy towels; comfortable pillows and beds; comfortable couches; roomy lanai overlooking pool (sometimes a little noisy, but not a big issue). There were paper towels, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, plastic baggies and foil, etc. All things that you need, but is a pain to have to buy when you are on vacation only to leave half of it behind when you leave. I did buy more laundry detergent (not sure if property manager would have brought more) and we ran out of kleenex in some rooms and paper towels (again, not sure if property manager would have brought more). Would have been nice if they stocked those items in the condo. We didn't really need or use them, but the garage had lots of beach chairs, beach towels, pool toys, snorkling gear, etc. I just felt like this place took care of the little things and it really made a difference. The condo does not have granite counter tops, but in my opinion, the place is a great value because of it and is still a great looking place. Loved the fact that each bedroom had a bathroom. Only other issue was that the two smaller bedrooms do not have air conditioning, so you have to leave the door open at night if you want to get cool air. Was not a major issue for us. The ceiling fan in the twin-bed bedroom clicks when you have it on high. That should get fixed. The toilet handle in the bathroom for the twin-bed bedroom is very hard to press. You almost feel like you are going to break the handle. That should also be looked at.

I only wish that you had called to let us know about the sheets. We did not realize the twin sheets had marker stains on them and we have since replaced them. As for the towels: we set out two bath towels for each stated guest on the reservation.
Vacation rentals are able to offer better prices than hotels because we do not offer daily maid service. I hope you were able to make use of the full size washer/dryer in the unit so you had fresh towels all week.

New vacation home found from Eatonville, WA on 06/01/2011 said:
We have two teenagers and one youngster and have stayed in Kauai a few other times, always in a hotel. This option has become crowded as they have grown. Everything you read and see about this place is true. We stopped by Costco and Foodland on the way in from the airport to stock up. We used the grill all but two nights. The kids had a wonderful time out in the pool. The condo is maybe 5-10 minutes from some of the greatest beaches on the North shore. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner out on the lanai. For what we received, this is by far the best value. My husband wakes very early and it was great for him to have additional space without waking the rest of us. The beds were very comfortable and the linens/towels were great quality. After finding alohacondos.com online and spending quite a bit of time comparing our options, we felt this was the very best choice. We felt as comfortable here as in our own home. I have already recommended the website to a few people and will continue to do so. If you don't mind saving money cooking your own meals, why would you stay in a hotel? For the time we spent here, we had everything we needed. The kids loved the snorkeling gear and boogie boards. Aside from the food, we did not need to purchase anything additional to enjoy our stay here. It was private and quiet and the residents were very nice. We come to Kauai every year and we have a found our new home away from home.

We found everything we needed and the condo certainly met our needs, The breeze was so nice we never had to use the a/C.at all. We thoroughly enjoyed eating on the lanai and loved the open feeling of the condo. With 4 adults and 4 kids, 3 bathrooms were nice to have. Wished there was a screen door on the entry so we could have gotten more of the breeze in but other than that it was great!

This condo really surprised us. We knew it would be nice but it was even better than the pictures. It is in a quiet and good area at princeville. We stayed there with our three teenagers. The condo was clean an spaceous. We loved the kitchen/livingroom area and we eat all our meals in the great lanai. The kitchen was fully epuipped. They had a lot of things for the beach and many snorkels. We had a great vacation and really recomend this place.
