Great place to stay!
This is a great condo! Wonderful ocean view, very nicely furnished, great space and clean. So happy we didn't stay on alli Drive, much too busy and loud. Shopping center within a 5 minute drive also added to the convenience. The whole complex is well maintaned and beautifully landscaped. Definitely would stay here again

Paradise Found
The condo is in a great location within the resort which is close to many amenities. Access to parking, pool/hot tub, and BBQ is very convenient. The ocean view is extraordinary. The condo is extensively equipped with everything one could possibly need, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Charles handled the reservations and details very efficiently. The "Red Book" with instructions and suggestions was most helpful. Free Wifi was an added bonus. This place truly is a paradise and made this vacation with our friends so memorable.

Blissful Escape
Arriving at the resort feels like arriving at a pocket of paradise...warm greeting at the gate, going through to lush landscaping (more hibiscus flowers than I've ever seen before), and all to the sound of birdsong. Walk in to a gorgeous welcome tropical fruit basket, and you know that it couldn't get much better! This unit has an embracing view of the rolling greens of the golf course - the lanai is just so inviting. Inside, the unit is set up for every comfort for the family. It's very relaxed decor/finish etc was just right for a relaxing family holiday (not for 5 star marble seekers). The unit is only a very short distance from the tennis court and 2 of the resorts pools; a short walk further takes you to the gorgeous ocean-front pool and lava coastline. loved it. Would go back tomorrow.

Just what the doctor ordered.
We just got back from spending a week here and enjoyed every minute. The condo was more than well stocked with anything you could need. We especially appreciated the full size washer and dryer for those loads of bulky beach towels. (Which were provided by the owner) The kitchen was stocked with a variety of spices and condiments. Also provided were a large coffee maker, rice cooker, coffee grinder and more. If I had to rack my brain for a negative there is very little space to store your food besides the refrigerator and freezer. But I would much rather not have to buy the basic spices/condiments and have rice cookers etc than have a place to put away a few groceries. The condo complex is beautifully landscaped filled with fragrant tropical flowers. It was a joy to come "home" every day. The view from the lanai was just as beautiful as the pictures. We hope to stay here again when we return to the Big Island. A special mahalo to Chuck for quick email responses and his gracious handling of our special request. His kidness was very appreciated.

We had a very nice stay here for 10 days and found the unit to have everything we needed. It was clean, neat and nicely appointed. Directions were good, and accessing the unit was easy. The view from the deck and proximity of crashing waves are awesome!! And the (3) pools and hot tubs were nicely maintained and enjoyable to use. The surrounding tropical grounds made me know I was in Hawaii, despite the barren, volcanic landscape along the highway getting there! The location is good and central for visiting all the different communities and climates on the island (and the volcano) and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a condominium accommodation. However, if most of your activities (like golf) are centralized along the northwest coast line, being north of the airport would reduce the daily trips up the highway.

My husband and I stayed in unit 2104 at the Kanaloa at Kona for 2 weeks. We wish we could have stayed a lot longer. The condo was wonderful, clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated with an island flair, and superbly stocked. The lanai (deck) off the living area faced the rocky ocean front and was wonderful to eat, relax, read or just visit on. The resort was beautiful and we loved the location a little out of town, and quiet. We definitly would like to come again.

Love the unit..our 2nd time there. Views are great and sun sets are awesome in December. Well stocked unit. Wish were still there as having torrental rains in SoCal! Will stay there again. Only issue is noise from upstairs in # 2106...for first 4 days there were 6 adults upstairs, very talkative foreigners, scraping deck chairs constantly, and up at 5 am stomping the floors. We called Kema and front desk to report. After 2-day respite, 2 young couples moved in and while we expected the worse, were surprising okay on noise. We love Kanaloa complex after many years saying there.

I would reccomend it to anyone who wanted to stay in the Kona area. Very beautiful grounds and three beautiful swimming pools that we really enjoyed. when I pay a lot of money, I do expect a little bit of luxury. This is a lovely condo, the location isn't bad, the washer and dryer are a nice convenience, the bed is comfortable, but honestly speaking, it could use a bit of up dating. The noise from above was really annoying. Every footstep is audible, and there were many footsteps. The sliding door to the ocean facing lanai sticks and is difficult to open .We have friends who stayed at another condo complex for quite a bit less money and their units were much more up to date and much classier, and considerably less money - also, larger. This unit is nice enough, but it is not the luxury unit I thought I was getting. A.motorcycle group came in for a few days during our stay, and while I realize they were not trying to be loud, the noise from their bikes was quite obnoxious while they came in and out and worked on repairing and tuning their bikes. All in all, bottom line, I was disappointed and felt like I overspent on our accomodations.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback and Im truly sorry your stay at my condo was disappointing; we strive to provide our guests with a pleasant and memorable experience in paradise.
I do not think the presentation of the condo on the website is misleading - Alohacondos.com goes to great lengths to accurately portray our units with numerous photos of every room from every possible angle, so I am quite puzzled as to what you were expecting as far as decor and size. I do understand your concern about the lanai doors, I am having them replaced but it is taking longer than I would have hoped. On the noise issues, a phone call to me, to the front desk, to security, or my property manager could have re-mediated the noise from upstairs.
Motorcycles over the holiday weekends do happen and unfortunately I have no control over other guests staying at the complex.
Aloha,

For our honeymoon, we wanted to stay on the water and figured that we would have to make huge sacrifices to be able to afford the location. The minute we walked into our Condo at Kanaloa at Kona, we knew we were going to have a great time. Everything was beyond our expectations from the outdoor seating on both ends (with one overlooking the ocean), to the first-class kitchen (fully stocked) and huge master bedroom with it's own private bath. What really made it special was the little touches like the flowers in the bathrooms, the Hawaiian and Classical music in the CD player and, of course, the beach gear outside. We had the most romantic, magical honeymoon during our stay here.

We loved the condo. It was tastefully furnished and decorated. It was also very well equipped. Both bathrooms and kitchen were nicely renovated (except maybe for the cupboards which needed to be refreshed on the inside). Everything worked very well. When the BDR TV didn't, mamagement was quick to try to fix it and soon enough we got a brand new TV. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The people around, staff and guests are friendly and relaxed. It was a little noisy at times: maintenance crew in the morning and people upstairs at night. However, there's a lot to do on BIG ISLAND and we went out often. We did have to drive to get to most places though. There is a supermarket, bank, post office and a few restaurants 5 minutes away. Overall, we loved our experience there and we highly recommend this condo. We hope we can come back someday.

The Kona Bliss condo has everything you could want. It's got a perfect ocean front location that's got the world's best sunset views, is well appointed, has big rooms and generous lanai and has everything you'd ever need. The complex is well located and the pools and BBQs are great. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had directions and instructions for our arrival. It's nearly perfect. So why not 5 stars? Noise. This is not a top floor condo and you hear just about every footfall upstairs. Admittedly we were there when probably the least considerate people on Earth were upstairs. There was a large group, including at least two kids who ran constantly all day. We were pretty sure the hall mirror would come off its hanger at some point. There was no way to enjoy the vacation holy grail - an afternoon nap. When more reasonable people came at the end of our stay, it was far better. Maybe it was bad luck for us, but you are at the mercy of your neighbors. Too bad, because we'd love to love this place but just can't.

My wife and I visited the Big Island to celbrate our 40th Wedding anniversary. Our unit was spacious, up to date, clean and really worked well for us. It was nice having two bathrooms. We only used the ocean side lanai, even though there was on off of the bedroom, as well. We especially liked the pools, but, unfortunately, the restuarant at the main pool was closed - a victim of the economy. We were within a short distance to a shopping center, where we stocked up on provisions. Also, we visited the nearby Outrigger to eat have a Mai Tai in the Veranda (recommended) and the Country Club (we did not play golf, but there are two great golf courses there. My husband and I just returned home from 11 days in this lovely condo. The condo was well stocked with all the beach essentials--towels, chairs, and umbrellas (my personal favorite!). The condo was as pictured. The view from the deck was fantastic--very beautiful. Also, we loved the shower. There were only a few downsides. Primarily, the walls of the condo are very thin and for most of our stay we had VERY noisy neighbors. It literally sounded like someone was running on a treadmill in the unit above ours almost every night between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. It was almost unbelievable. Unfortunately, we slept through the night only 2 of the 11 nights in Kona. The only other point worth mentioning, we did find two cockroaches in the kitchen during our stay, even though we were diligent about taking out the trash. All in all it was a great condo, and if the neighbors were quiet, it would have been pretty close to perfect. As for location, we found that we preferred the north end of the island and most days drove the 35 minutes north to the nicer beaches in that area. I think our next visit we will stay up that way, were the skies are a little clearer and there is a breeze. Loved the island though, can't wait to go back.

We were overall very pleased with the condo and the location. We walked to Trade Winds for a couple of excursions, and the shopping center is very convenient. The sunset pool is very nice. The condo was not as clean as it could have been, but that wasn't a big deal. The bed in the master is past its prime, and my wife developed back issues by the end of our stay. I'd suggest a new mattress. All in all, we would come back and recommend to friends, but I really think you should invest in a new mattress. Aloha.
Manager response:
Exception not the Rule: My cleaning person had to visit her mother in California for a week and she had her husband fill in for her. He thought that the second bath shower/tub had not been used since there were only two people staying in the condo. Our regular cleaning person is very thorough and has a cleaning checklist she follows each time she cleans the condo.
Regarding the mattress I can only tell you that we purchased a very expensive mattress just 4 years ago. This is the first guest who commented on the mattress. I know one size does not always fit all so if this guest was having back problems I suppose a particular mattress could add to the problem. However, I dont think most condo owners can accommodate for the total spectrum of potential health related issues that guests have. I purchased a mattress firmness that is typical recommended for rental condos. My wife Kris and I visit yearly and are constantly monitoring what condition things are in and update and replace just as you would with your home.
Mahola for your understanding of the challenges of accommodating all special health related issues.

This condo is at a great location right next to the water. The kitchen and living room are well furnished and the lanai is perfect to enjoy your meals. The pools nearby are very nice as well, especially the ocean view pool. The main issues are the bathrooms are a little stinky and the towels are old and dingy. Not sure if the smell is due to humidity or age of the bathroom as the smaller one appears to have been upgraded. Overall a great place to stay for a central location to most activities.
Manager response:
Coincidently my wife Kris and I (owners) arrived the very same day this guest checked out and we stayed the following 5 days. First, we did not detect any unusual orders in either bathroom the entire time of our stay. Additionally no other guests ever mentioned this topic to us. We take great pride in our condo having invested over 100K in the remodel in 2008 and we continue to keep things up.
Secondly, regarding the towels we replace the towels every few months. It is possible that some older back up towels were put out, but there are other towels available in the closets and there is also a high end front loading washer and dryer available to our guests. In a humid tropical climate towels do need to be washed more frequently and dried preferably with a softener to add a nice scent to the towels. No different than home - right!

Very large 1-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo that was recently updated. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen contained most of the amenities we needed for our 10-day stay. The unit is set back from the water and sandwiched between two other units; it faces a bay rather than the ocean so you are unable to watch sunsets from the unit's lanai. So it could be labeled "waterfront" but we would choose a true oceanfront unit next time. There were specific instructions to take the trash out every day due to ants, but only one garbage bag was provided. Garbage bags for each day of the stay should be provided so the guest does not have to buy a box of bags. Also, the washer/dryer needs he detergent--it would be nice if a few loads of detergent were included as we did not know to get he detergent. The unit had central aC which kept our place comfortable. For the same price, the other members of our party had true oceanfront units with more privacy. We would want to either pay less for this unit or pay the same and get true oceanfront!
Manager response:
Please note that the guest commented on how comfortable Kanaloa 3504 was and that it was a newly remodeled condo with AC. A previous guest called Kanaloa 3504 A Designers Dream. Regarding the outstanding waterfront views from Kanaloa 3504 I would ask you to read the comments of other guests. Most guests rave about the fantastic white water views and the sounds of the ocean. There are no buildings between the water and Kanaloa 3504.
Regarding sunsets, the sun sets somewhat differently in the west based on the time of year, but it sets in the west. Is it reasonable to expect to view a sunset from every condo Lanai even though it faces north, south or east? One of the best viewing areas for sunsets at Kanaloa is the ocean pool area. Please keep in mind that sunsets in Hawaii occur very quickly and there is not a lot of time to watch before the sun drops beyond the horizon.
As far as providing garbage bags and high efficiency laundry detergent we normally do keep these items stocked. Our Kanaloa guests only need to place a phone call to me to resolve any minor items such as this. If you read other guest comments you will see that my wife Kris and I certainly try to provide a high level of guest service. Having invested over $100,000 in the remodel hopefully tells you we care about offering our guests a truly luxury condo experience.

We stayed at Kanaloa 3504 in beautiful Kailua-Kona. This is a beautifully renovated, very large one bedroom condo overlooking a lovely little bay. We only ended up using the air conditioning the evening of our arrival because after that it was just lovely to have the ocean breeze cooling the unit. Everything about this condo spells comfort - comfortable beds, furniture, bathing facilities, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor furniture on the lanai - everything. We even had access to beach chairs and boogie board to use whilst visiting the many, varied beaches on the Big Island. The location is so convenient to both the town of Kailua, and is right on Keauhou bay where you can rent paddleboards and kayaks. It's also a 10 minute walk up the hill to the Keahou shopping centre which has some great restaurants and a grocery store as well as a local, organic farmers' market on Saturdays. It's also a 5 minute drive to Kahaluu beach which has (in my opinion) some of the best snorkeling in the world, and where the sea turtles come right up onto the rocks to bask in the sun. Wonderful vacation! Wonderful fun! Wonderful Kanaloa 3504!

The condo is in an ideal location (both within the condo complex and the greater Kona area), comfortable, and well-outfitted. We had a great stay - it was a great for heading everywhere we wanted to go - to Kona markets, to Volcanoes, and to the south bays of Kealakekua, Honaunau, and Hookena. Loved the oceanside pool and sunsets, and the sound of the waves off the lanai. Would definitely stay here again.

Family of 4 from Seattle from Seattle on 07/22/2010 said:
Was not warned that the oceanside pool was closed for the summer. Was not expecting there to be 15 multi-generational people staying in the unit above us and the one pool left open for children to be crowded. The unit itself was clean, well cared for, lovely. The water view was not as good as I had anticipated. This was (to me) a very expensive place to stay with reduced/crowded amenities and lack of peace at times. We actually felt that we had to leave the complex to regain our sanity. Not what we were hoping for at the price tag.
Manager response:
Note that our guest said that Kanaloa 3504 was very clean and well cared for, lovely. What more can you expect from an owner? Kanaloa has three pools and they have been resurfacing each pool area to make sure Kanaloa guests have the nicest resort facilities. Two of the pools have been resurfaced and the last pool to be worked on was the ocean pool. When one pool is resurfaced the other two pools are still available. Contrary to this guests comment there were still two pools open not one: one was for adults only and the other was open to all. How many Kona resorts have three pools? As you can tell from the other Flip Key guest comments they really liked the view and ocean sights and sounds from Kanaloa 3504.
As far as having 15 people of multi-generations staying in the condo above I think I will let my reader determine the accuracy of this comment! Kanaloa has a policy against excessive over use of a unit and a guest needs to contact Kanaloa Resort Security available on the grounds 24 x7 and they will investigate any misuse of a condo. Please understand there are only 4 or 6 condos to a building so you rarely get the issues that a more densely built complex has. Guests are distributed over the resorts 13 acres so it is good as it can get. The key when staying at any luxury vacation accommodations is to alert Security sooner rather than later to remedy annoying situations. Kanaloa is staffed to make your vacation a truly great experience!
In summary, people have different tolerances and expectations. We strive to make things as perfect as possible. Kanaloa 3504 is a magnificent luxury condo (as reported by past guests) having been recently remodeled at a cost of over $100,000. I hope you will consider a stay at Kanaloa 3504.

We stayed at Kanaloa at Kona 3504 with our two young boys for a week in June. The Condo was very lovely. Furnished nicely and well-supplied. Our boys loved the murphy bed, and thought it was very cool to pull their bed out of the wall each night. The pool/ping pong table directly across from the condo was also a big hit! The condo is in a very good location to explore the entire Kona coast, and is only a minute or two away from the most popular snorkeling beach on the island. The owner, Lowell, was very easy to do business with, as well. Overall, a very nice (and affordable) condo rental in a beautiful place! Justin Shofler

From beginning to end this is one of the nicest experience in renting a condo I have had. Every question was answered quickly, correctly and followed up by Lowell. The unit was lovely, well furnished, in beautiful, clean, comfortable condition and a delight to call home for a week. From the lanai we enjoyed the sound+view of the surf breaking on the rocks, and the paddlers practicing morning and evening. A perfect relaxing location (pool, BBQ, tennis court just a few steps away), open floor plan, ventilation options (silent ceiling fans or a/c) for temperature that suits you. We love the natural open Hawaiian breeze kissing our skin so we did appreciate this option. Just wish we could have stayed at least twice as long to fully enjoy everything...as dancers we were involved in a five day intense dance workshop so our play time was very limited. The location is great as you have super market, restuarants, drugstore, theater, post office, gas station a short distance away. Great place to snokel and beach also within a few miles. Highly recommend you enjoy the hospitality you will recieve from a visit at Konaloa at Kona. Thanks to Lowell it's all good!

I was a bit nervous at first to book an individual's condo rather than use a hotel or timeshare. But when I had questions before booking, the owner both e-mailed and called me to answer. Right away I felt more comfortable. And when we got there everything was seamless. It was in a wonderful, quiet area; great cross-ventilation; immaculate; and extremely comfortable. We spent nearly the entire time there on the front deck, with its lovely view. Being able to cook meals instead of going out to restaurants all the time was wonderful; and they had a kitchen with every gadget to one's content. The only thing missing was a grill. We loved the Big Island and when we go again there will be no hesitation in booking 3504 again. Mahala.

We stayed in Unit 3504 and found it very nice and well appointed. We know the owners had painted and added granite to the space but it could still use a little tweeking. The carpet on stairs should be replaced as quite worn and is separating at the top. Cushions for the outdoor furniture would make it more comfy to watch the gorgeous ocean waves and for entertaining. On the whole very well-equipped but could use a safe for valuables as well as new pillows and pillow protectors in the bedroom. The duvet and shams were tasteful as were the furnishings. The owners were excellent to deal with and very organized with communication, directions etc.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review.
It is very important to be accurate when making comments about accommodations. As a reader of this comment you should know that my wife Kris and I invested over $100,000 in our 2007 remodel. It included: new tile floors inside and outside on both lanais, granite kitchen and bathroom counter tops, created walk-in shower in master bath, replaced all bathroom toilets and tube in second bathroom, added central air-condition, new ceiling fans, remodeled kitchen and added a build in desk area off kitchen, all new furniture (king size bed in bedroom) and appliances, new pictures and much more. Not just paint and granite
The only carpet in the condo is on the stairs which we chose to do for safety purposes. As far as the carpet coming loose at the top of the stairs my cleaning person reported it on March 15 and on our annual visit beginning March 16, 2010 I had the carpet reattached at the very top of the step. The carpet was cleaned and although is 3 years old it still does not look very worn to justify replacement. Because it is a low mat carpet the renters may have viewed this as worn. Reality is that things do break in homes and as owners we always make repairs immediately upon notification.
We do have a new cushion for the front lanai teak recliner which the guest did not mention. However, we do not have cushions on the individual teak chairs around the outside teak dining table. Due to the ocean salt. sun, and occasional rains and primarily sanitary purposes we have chosen to oil the teak wood rather than adding individual chair cushions.
We do replace the bedroom pillows every two years so we will look at replacing them again and this is a fair comment and request for luxury accommodations such as Kanaloa 3504.

This condo is incredible. We were a group of 4 adults and 1 baby (10 months), and the condo couldn't have been more ideal. We were all surprised that it was as nice (if not nicer!!) than the website pictures show. It was immaculately clean, and the kitchen was wonderfully stocked with any cooking utensil you could ever use, plus a lot of pantry "basics" (olive oil, spices, condiments, etc). The master bed and bathrooms were gorgeous, and the second bedroom is also very nice (though smaller with a bathroom next door). The condo was stocked with everything we needed while visiting - including snorkeling gear, beach umbrellas (which as it turns out are 100% necessary when visiting the beaches in the summer - it gets hot and there is very little shade!!), binoculars, several large beach towels, beach chairs, playing cards, board games, Dvds and Bluerays, the list goes on and on. The lanai is absolutely perfect, and we ate about 95% of our meals outside while enjoying the views and sounds of the ocean. There are a few Bbqs on the property (one right below the condo), and we did not have any problems with them being busy on any of the 3 or 4 times we wanted to BBQ. Overall, this was an incredible place to stay and if we ever returned to Kona we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The solid wood table with matching chairs made eating on the lanai a delight. Placemats were provided. The children loved the swimming pools and the snorkeling at the nearby beach. We could hear the surf and had a great view of the ocean from the lanai. We needed to adjust to the solar heated water, which is the way that most water should be heated. The kitchen was loaded with every sort of equipment, pots, pans, casserole dishes and even condiments. For a Canadian, the only thing missing was a tea pot! The beds were comfortable, the linens were pure cotton, the fans kept the rooms cool. We were grateful for an abundance of beach towels, mats, coolers to take to the beach, ice machine in the fridge, even flippers and beach shoes. When one of us couldn't find their passport and keys, one of the security came up and went over every suitcase until they found it in a underlying hidden pocket which we missed. Crisis averted! We loved our stay so much that we've gone back to the website just to look wistfully at the photos of "our rooms" in condo 2403 and Kanaloa. We'll be back next year to stay there again.

Everything was great about our stay. The location and view were wonderful, and it was nice to be away from the downtown Kona crowds. Especially nice to be minutes away from great snorkeling at Kahalu'u!!! The condo had all the supplies we needed, complete with beach gear like boogie boards and straw mats. The beds were very comfortable, and the common area was conducive to a nice family gathering. The downside was the water temperature. We took many lukewarm, if not cold, showers. On the other side, sometimes the water was too hot, and the coldest we could get the water was "warm". It would have been nice to have written instructions regarding how to manage the hot water heater, and also how to use the temperature controls in the master shower (very confusing!). If you have a large group of people, all of whom would like a tolerable shower at the end of a long day, this can be very frustrating. I definitely would not let the water situation keep you away, because that is really the only downside, and is probably something that can be fixed. It's just something to keep in mind.

This condo was absolutely fabulous. Hands down, the best thing about this condo was the 'pay it forward' atmosphere. We cooked/Bbq'd the whole week because the kitchen had *everything*...and not just the normal plates, pots, pans, but spices, condiments, you name it. Coolers and beach maters were available for beach trips; flashlights for lava tube exploring; complete snorkeling sets outfitted the whole family; binoculars were great for just sitting on the lanai watching the ocean activities. Beyond that, the condo is elegantly and tastefully furnished, well-maintained, and in a fantastic, lush-landscaped location with easy access to the community pools and shops just up the street. We found it to be well located to everything we wanted to do and a great home-base. Finally, reserving the condo and use of the site was easy and convenient and Charles' thoroughness and follow-up was unparalleled. When we hit the big island again, this is the only condo we'll even consider.

The condo was beautiful and looked exactly like it was pictured on the web site. It was well stocked with everything from cooking supplies to Dvds to boogie boards and snorkeling gear. The location of the condo was alright, but I would recommend a place further north. It took over an hour to get to the beautiful white sand beaches such as Hapuna Beach and Mauna Kea Beach. We loved the comfort of the condo but we were sorely dissapointed that we were not informed that the main pool out front of the condo was closed for repairs and had been for some time.

We had a great 3 day experience in Kona this April and a great portion of it was due to the wonderful stay at this lodge. The owner has thought of everything, and it was fantastic to have a book of reviews of the restaurants in the area. We followed their reviews religiously and they didn't steer us wrong once, I would highly recommend doing likewise. As far as the lodging itself it is 20 minutes away from several of the hotspots on Kona, its beautiful, decorated tastefully and sits right on the beach. What more could you ask for? If I go to Kona again, I will definitely be staying here again!

The service Charles provided in arranging our stay was terrific. He was very accomodating and quick to respond to my emails. The home was beautiful and had so many extras to enjoy such as beach chairs, beach towels, binoculars, etc. It made our experience so easy and pleasurable. The view and sound of the surf off of the lanai were breathtaking. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to all our family and friends. The only problem we had was that they were resurfacing the spa and grounds right below the lanai. We had to listen to the jackhammers and compressor, as well as the workers yelling back and forth, from early morning to late afternoon. It made thinking or talking impossible! We were forced to leave even when we would have liked to enjoy the view and peace of the home. It also made giving the baby a nap impossible. I know this kind of work must be done but I wish we had known it was going to be happening during our stay so that we could have had the option to choose another condo. It was difficult with 2 small children and all the disruptive noise. Aside from that, everything was beautiful and the home warm and inviting. I'm sorry to even have to complain about anything but I figured honesty is best!

....Just got back and cannot wait to tell you what a fabulous time we had at the Condo (# 2403).....I was looking for a review page where I could thank you for a really top notch vacation not only because of the unbelievable views from our lanai, but also for the excellent accommodations and a wonderful "Red Book" with detailed information on restaurants, things to see, and step by step guide to all the conveniences that make for a truly relaxing and enjoyable vacation!! I am so glad that this venue is available for those of us who just want to share a really awesome experience. Everything we needed (or thought we would have to go out and get) were at our fingertips and convenience. There was nothing we ran out of that was not provided for. A lot of thought was put into making this a (gorgeous) home away from home, and that, in my estimation, is definitely the earmark of a well managed enterprise. Please make sure that the word gets out so that no one misses out on a 5 star vacation!!! MAHALO, MAHALO, MAHALO!!!!! Cheryll Neese

Six ladies spent the last three nights of an eight night stay in the Kona area at this nicely appointed condo. We were lucky to find something available at the last minute and were very pleased with the ammenities, the complex, and the view from the lanai. The housekeeper was very helpful in getting us into the condo early. We enjoyed ourselves and wished we could have stayed longer. Our only recommendation is that renters be aware that the third bedroom is indeed only a loft with a full size futon for a bed. We made it work for us but a "real bed" would make the condo perfect for 5-6 adults. We would definitely recommend this unit as well as the complex.

The space was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. We had plenty of room for 6 adults and a little tyke. The lanai with the large dining table allowed us all to dine outside together. The condo was well equipped right down to the kitchen amenities, boogie boards and snorkel masks. It was decorated nicely and very comfortable. It was easy to make reservations online and communicate with the owner by phone and email to finalize arrangements. Beth also helped ensure everything was perfect for us and was available to answer questions of us while on island. Thanks for providing the perfect accommodations for us!

The unit is only a very short distance from the tennis court and 2 of the resorts pools; a short walk further takes you to the gorgeous ocean-front pool and lava coastline. loved it. We have rented other condos in the past, and this was by far the best equipped condo. Kanaloa is one of our favorite condo resorts. This unit was very peaceful, right on the golf course with a lot of greenery all around. It was also quite a bit detached from the other condos so we were not overlooking anyone else which was very nice.

This was our first trip to Kona as a family (2 adults/4 children under age 13) and we are so thankful to have found Jim's condo at Kanaloa! The check-in process was easy and the the condo was very clean! It was rather hot inside so once we turned the a/c on, it was a short time for it to cool down. The condo stayed cool and comfortable every day after that. We loved the space of the condo with a large livingroom and diningroom that faces the quiet golf course, and the master bedroom has a large dressing room where we could hang clothes and stow our luggage. The condo had everything that we could possibly need for 7 days! The kitchen had all the cookware and appliances, there were boogie boards and snorkel gear, puzzles and games (we put both puzzles together, which was fun!), and the beds were Sooo comfortable. The property was quiet, not loud or busy like some hotels or resorts (maybe because we were there in July/first of august), and the staff were nice and kept the property spotless. Our kids loved watching the geckos climbing the exterior walls, and we actually found two inside the condo (even with the doors and windows always closed). Since geckos in the home are considered good luck, we were happy to have them inside! We used the snorkel gear at the Kahalu'u Beach just down the road and had the most amazing time seeing tropical fish!! We bought a cheap underwater camera to take lots of pictures of fish and turtles. Believe us when we say that this condo is completely worth staying at! You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars at some other properties to have comfort and relaxation, especially if you're out on adventures most of the day. Thank you, Jim!!

Our stay at Kanaloa condo 203 exceeded our expectations for our 30 year reunion. From our entry when we found someone had anticipated our arrival and left Hawaiian music, soft lighting, and some air conditioning on to greet us, to our departure, we remained delightfully surprised. Jim seemed to have anticipated our every need; from a cooler and ice packs we used when grocery shopping at Costco, to snorkel equipment, beach chairs and towels, detergent for the laundry, toiletries for the bathroom, a high speed internet connection, any cooking utensil we found a need for, a Hawaiian cookbook with simple recipes, and incredibly comfortable Tempurpedic style mattresses. We loved the Indonesian style daybed on what we dubbed the "sleeping porch!" The condo was spotlessly clean. The grounds are immaculately well-kept and the ocean-side pool was great! Had we had the time and inclination, we could have used the tennis courts for 12 hours a day. The proximity to a grocery store saved us money when we felt like kicking back and relaxing at home rather than heading out to a restaurant. For all of the reasons listed,we liked this condo better than the second one we rented in Waikoloa in fact. Besides the aforementioned attention to detail , we realized that what made it feel particularly special and "home" was the proliferation of Hawaiian artwork we made a point of admiring. Thanks Jim!

I reserved unit #203 at Kanaloa at Kona through aloha Condos. Our 8-day stay was outstanding in all aspects. Booking and instructions: Booking was efficient and our queries were answered promptly. Instructions to access the resort and the unit were crystal-clear and it was easy to find the condo even after dark. The condo: Everything there is arranged to make your stay easy, comfortable and, enjoyable. The unit is perfectly clean and highly functional. The fact that beach equipment was provided and the welcome fruit basket are nice touches that the whole family appreciated. The unit is beautifully decorated and one can see its owner takes great care of it. Books, DVD, and a wealth of touristic information were other aspects we enjoyed. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything was in perfect working order. After long days touring the Big Island, it was great to have peaceful and pleasant dinners at the condo. We also all loved having breakfast on the lanai. Kanaloa at Kona: Grounds are extremely well kept and pretty with all those flowers. We enjoyed the pools and the fact we could use the barbecues. Walking along the shore was another pleasure we had at Kanaloa. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate one second to stay there again. We travel a lot and have rented condos and houses in many locations in Europe and the USa. This was definitely one of our best if not our best rental experiences.

We often travel as a family. It's always a challenge for us to find accommodation for 5, parents and 3 teenagers. Thus, when I could luckily reach the owner by phone, I felt very good about him as he was very kind and sincere to answer my questions and offer suggestions. He was very professionally communicative throughout our Hawaiian holiday. The location was away from the busy highway and was very quiet, yet very close to shopping and dinning. I believe that the owner vacations in the property when not renting. The place was more than we expected. It was just like being at one's elegantly, tastefully and beautifully decorated home with a large family kitchen, cozy living room, spacious dinning room as well as full cleaning and laundry amenities the family needs. The location of the condo was away from a busy pool, facing the vast green field. It was always quiet to fall asleep with windows open. We stayed at another private 2-bedroom condo in Maui and Oahu on this trip. If he had had the accommodation for 5 of us on these Islands, I would have chosen to stay at his property definitely. His place has been a big part of our good memories of our trip to the Big Island of Hawaii.

We found out about this condo on Trip Advisor and all the comments were exact. This condo is very clean, very large, quiet and welcoming. We had everything we needed and more. The complex is also beautiful and the area of Kona great ! We enjoyed the quietness, the view on the golf course, the sound of the birds every morning. We had to switch condos after a week because this condo was previously booked so our second week at Kanaloa was nice but we missed this condo in particular very much. I would not go back to another one in Kona. The ownwer is extremely nice. Thanks for the great memories and we wish we can go back one day !

Our family stayed at Kanaloa at Kona #203 several years ago. It was our 3rd trip to the Big Island in 5 years, and our first stay at unit #203. By far, unit #203 was the nicest unit we stayed at. It was the most spacious, quietest, and most beautifully furnished. The unit is located on the edge of the golf course, and is situated away from the parking lot, so it is especially quiet. The very large living room looks out to the golf course. The furnishings are not only high quality, but tastefully done in a "tropical" theme, adding to the island experience. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the two bedrooms are very spacious. We stayed at a different unit at Kanaloa at Kona the prior year, but this unit was much nicer (and larger). I would highly recommend this condo for a vacation rental on the Big Island and would absolutely stay again in this unit.

We were very impressed with the owner's efforts to make this condo a welcoming and relaxing place to stay. The attention to detail is very evident - soap supplied for the dishwasher (rather than having to buy a whole box for just a week's stay), waterproof pads for the mattress (we have 2 young kids), detailed information on where to eat and what to do locally, beach toys for the kids, a welcoming gift basket including Kona coffee, all the appliances and dishes one could ever need, and the list goes on and on. I really appreciate it when someone 'gets it,' and Jim clearly does. The condo was a very welcoming and quiet place to come home to after a busy day. We are so glad we didn't stay a little farther north towards busy Kailua-Kona. All this at quite a reasonable price too. Should we return to the west side of the Big Island someday, the decision on where to stay will be a no-brainer!

This is the fourth time that we have stayed in KAK 203, and it will not be the last. We continue to return year after year for several reasons: the peaceful lanai on the golf course; the excellent location; the fabulous kitchen; the top-end outdoor barbeque; and the memories that come from staying in this perfect home. If I could move into 203 permanently, I would! We are already looking forward to returning!

It was a fun time for us; I will always remember the friendly people we met, all the excellent restaurants (look around a little & you'll find some great prices)and the bright vivid colors you can only find on the islands. The unit was absolutely perfect for us and in "like new" condition with not a single scuff or mark anywhere. It looked like something you would see in a decorating magazine and nothing like the "no personality" rentals that are so common. Small touches everywhere made it feel like a beautiful friend's home. The view of the golf course was fun as we sat and had breakfast well making rude comments (quietly to each other) about some of the golfers lack of talent on the links! We would return in a heartbeat!!

My wife and I just retired and we took some time to visit our favorite island. The condo has everything we needed. We didn't need to buy a thing to add to the kitchen. The view was entertaining. The binocular was a useful tool to enjoy fishing boats, kayakers, racing canoes and dolphins. One evening I watched a fishing boat play a large fish and really got excited as they struggled to subdue the fish next to the boat. The trophy took three fellas quite sometime to haul into the boat. Kanaloa is situated in a quiet and secure location. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We will return.

This unit was a great oceanfront unit with about a 60 degree view of the ocean from the lanai. We could see spinner dolphins, kayakers, outriggers, fishing boats, and manta ray diving boats form the lanai. At this time of year we could not see the sun "set into the water" from the lanai, but it was visible with a short walk. Keauhou, where Kanaloa at Kona is located, is very convenient to West Hawai'i (and Kailua-Kona) without being in the middle of Kailua and its touristy activity. We have stayed at this condo complex on numerous occasions. The facilities and grounds are generally well-kept. On this visit the pools were not crowded, at any time. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not functioning in some fashion (economy?) and access to its open-area seating and the grassy area beyond it were denied. The unit, itself, was clean and well-furnished with up-to-date electronics (two LCD TVs with Dvdvcr players, cable, and wireleless internet) and fairly well-supplied kitchen and BBQ utensils. (Could have used a coffee grinder for Kona Coffee.) The fan in the bedroom was sufficient to keep us cool at night, but aC would have helped. The fan in the living room could have moved the air a little better. Ventilation, on the whole was good, but could have been improved with a screen door at the first floor entry to this second story unit. Downsides were the outside lighting (entry porch light was not functioning making it difficult to find the key and insert into door handle and the lanai could have used additional lighting from the outdoor fan housing allowing dinner to be eaten after sunset, which comes earlier than the mainland during summer) and placement of palm trees that limit view from the lanai. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Convenient to wherever we wanted to be and whatever we wanted to do during our stay.

Condo 2904 is very nice overall and is recommended. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The view is very good and close to the ocean. There are a few minor issues that stop me from giving the condo a 5: the bathrooms are servicable but they definitely need a remodel (one bathroom is partially redone), the foam pillows were comfy for foam but there were no feather pillows which we prefer, the walls are pretty thin, but that is likely the case for most condos, and the wireless router was completely unsecured with no encryption. The biggest issue is that the TV set up is not great - there is a small flat screen in the main room (it is very small) and the DVD and VCR set up is a nigthmare (2 separate units, with the DVD routed through the VCR). I am really good at figuring these setups out but I could get sound or picture, but not both. The bedroom has a medium sized tube with a DVD/VCR combo which is a lot easier to use. These are relatively minor issues with the TV being the biggest if you were to stay several weeks.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Condo 2904. The condo was extremely well equipped. We were especially thrilled with the kitchen as we both enjoy cooking and use condo kitchens. This one offered so much more than just the regular Outrigger condo kitchens. We appreciated all the little extras to use at the beach. The location is beautiful. We loved listening and watching the surf from the front lanai. We liked the location of the Resort at the end of the "tourist area". Yet, close to Kona and wonderfully close Kayak rentals. Perfect snorkeling just down the beach too. We had planned on 5 nights in Volcano Village, but chose to return to Kanaloa at Kona to finish our vacation. I'm not surprised to learn that Aloha Condos would like a review of our stay in Kona. Like everything else, their follow-up is flawless. We arrived late on Saturday night and were greeted by the gate guard. She escorted us to the unit, waited to make sure we had proper entry, and then left with a smile. Needless to say, we were in bed within the hour. Upon awakening, we rushed to the lanai to take in the magnificent view in the early morning sunlight. We were just in time to see a humpbacked whale do a complete jump out of the water, and come crashing down again. So spectacular it's hard to even describe. But, that was just the first hour. Everything just got better and better after that. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo, the surroundings, and the island. We especially liked Lulu's downtown. Great Mai Tai's, great Poke, and really fair prices. Found the speed limits to be somewhat confining, especially on the open road, but that's because I'm used to 55 mph on city streets here in the desert. All in all, a great place to vacation. Quiet, great view, close to everything, and very reasonable prices. Thanks Aloha for a memorable vacation experience. Oh yes, Bruce is the best... any problems, he'll handle it immediately... Jamison's is pricy. King Kam's Luau is the best. and the open air market on Ahi'i Street is well worth stopping for (better than the one downtown on the water)... The concierge saved us about $500 in fees for the activities we chose to do... Thanks Shawn. Snorkeling, Horseback riding in Waip'io Valley, sunset cruise on the catamaran, the luau, the volcano, and of course, the Black Pearl engagement ring we found in Hilo... yep, it was a great two weeks. Thanks.

If you're like us and don't need a beach at your front door but you still want the ocean views and fresh breezes, you'll love this condo. It has a great lanai with comfortable lounge chairs along with a table, so you can spend your entire time there and still have the great Hawaii experience. But if you want to get out and explore and enjoy the attractions of the Big Island, this place is ideally located, just minutes away from Kona town with its great restaurants and many activities. You'll find this apartment to be just like home with its full sized appliances, comfortable beds and even a second lanai off the large bedroom. The area affords convenient shopping, nearby golf courses and easy access to the major roads on the Big Island. Covered parking along with a large pool and clubhouse nearby makes this complex an ideal location for families and couples. The unit doesn't have air conditioning but it really doesn't need it because of the large windows, sliding doors and ceiling fans that circulate the cool ocean breeze. The unit and the complex itself is well maintained and clean and the full time gate attendant gives you a feeling of security. There is an on-site restaurant offering a gourmet Hawaiian dining experience and an opportunity to enjoy a gorgeous ocean sunset. We can hardly wait to go back!
