Kanaloa at Kona
Condo 2301
2-Bedroom 2-Bath Oceanfront Condo - Sleeps 4

Pleasant stay
All-in-all everything went well. There was plenty of dishes, pots and pans and simular stuff. The usit is laid out nicely with a beartiful lanai off of the kitchen. We spent most of our time on the lanai, morning or night. The weather helped on that account. We used the bar-b several times and it was clean and we used the pools also and they were clean and comfortable.

We loved the location, great view and all the amenities.
Condo 2301 lived up to our expectations and more. It supplied us with everything we needed and more i.e. ice pack, cooler, beach chairs. The kitchen was very well stocked. Of course, the lanai was our favourite spot. Those glass doors were awesome. Able to see dolphins and whales. Very quiet. Love to return sometime.
Manager response:
Mahalo! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed our unit and had such a wonderful stay in Paradise. Your comments have been recorded in our web site and we appreciate you taking the time to write. We both look forward to your return one day. Sandy and Ron Ball FYI---we have decals for sliding glass door, new knife set for kitchen and a Teac I Pod and -DC Player so you have even more to look forward to!

Very Nice Condo
This was our 3rd stay at the property in the past 20 years; however, our first stay at this unit. Its a beautiful unit and the Ball's should be very proud to own it. The view from the lanai was exceptional with the swing, couch, and table for four. Of course, that is where we were when not sleeping. We loved the new folding doors! We also appreciated the use of the bogey boards. I also liked the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. Clearly, there have been some upgrades including tile work, washer and dryer, etc., in this unit. We also found the living room furnishings very nice. Here are a few recommendations: Spare Bedroom: +Be able to join single beds together for a double bed +Replace ceiling fan with a more powerful multi-speed 52" fan +Purchase a small dresser drawer +Purchase clothes hangers...or at least keep the ones we purchased. I've never had to purchase my own hangers before. We bought 2-3 dozen and left them there...our contribution. Spare Bathroom: +Repair or replace vent fan +Install towel hooks and additional towel rack Kitchen: +Replace kitchen knives...very dull, keep them in a wood block rather than a drawer. The ones in the unit look to be original equipment from early 80s. +Did not find a spatual to flip eggs or pancakes, but did find more than one potatoe masher...didn't cook a potatoe all week:) Kaleo was very nice and personable...lots of aloha! The price was reasonable and we would stay here again...if just my wife and I. As it was, we had 2 couples and we had to stay in the guest bedroom, with the single beds. I won't do that again, nor will I make anyone coming with us do that. Thank you for this opportunity to provide remarks. Once again, the Ball's should be very proud to own this unit. I wish them the best!
Manager response:
Aloha, Thank you for all the kind words. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our "Home away from Home". It was very nice of you to take the time to write your thoughts and suggestions. We are very new at this and do appreciate your views.. We have purchased the equipment to make the 2 single beds into one large one. We had 2 couples sharing the unit and made that request a while back but it must have been after your visit. My guess is Kaleo has them stored somewhere and sets it up when requested. Honestly, I did not realize there was anything like that available until our Condo management service mentioned it. Normally, we have families etc. so it is more convenient to have 2 smaller beds with the conversion available. We had them 'bunk' style for our Grandchildren when they visited. Having said that, most of our guests are not willing to climb a ladder to get into bed! I have extra hangers here and will take them over. We left plenty but they seem to have disappeared. Thanks for supplying new ones. Also a spatula as I have extra ones here. We also have more family tapes for our visitors to enjoy. There is a small dresser in the closet which we felt was large enough for guests. That room is pretty small. Perhaps we can get a larger one for the closet as that is quite large. As you know, the ocean has a horrible effect on all our furnishings and especially the things that have metal surfaces. We had problems with rust and deterioration while living there. Somehow, that view makes it okay though! I will check into the knife situation. We will take your other suggestions under consideration. Again, we are happy that you enjoyed the other amenities our unit offers. We would love to have you visit again. Mahalo, Sandy Ball PS Yes, Kaleo is a very kind and thoughtful person and represents us and our unit very well. I am sure he appreciated your kind words.

Terrific 5 nights
My wife and I spent 5 nights at Unit 2301. The condo was spacious, in excellent shape and right on the water. The doors open from the dining area off the kitchen and essentially make the lanai an extension of the apartment. The kitchen is amply stocked with most essentials for general cooking, and cookware, knives, etc. are well appointed. Perhaps the only thing that would have been appreciated, at least by us, was a stereo of some type in the main area; however, a) there is a small boom box that we moved from one of the bedrooms and that worked a-ok; and b) the 2 flat screen Tv's do earn them some savvy media chops. We loved our time there and we would go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.
