Everything was spectacular
I almost didn't book this condo because the photo above looks almost unreal! Everything about this condo and the booking process exceeded expectations. We even had a fully-stocked spice cupboard and all of the water toys /beach gear we needed. We didn't require the handicap facilities, but certainly appreciated the extra-large marble shower. The ground-floor lanai makes you feel like you're part of the ocean and wave-watching can become quite a hobby! Highly recommend this condo & resort.
Beautiful spot
We totally enjoyed our stay at this condo,It was very spacious and well appointed, providing everything we needed plus. It is in a beautiful location with a deck overlooking the ocean that makes you feel like there is no-one else around. It is a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay and the deck faces the sunset for the evening meal. The choice of pools at the complex were all lovely and access to supermarkets etc all very handy. Would certainly stay here again.
It was a wonderful home away from home!
The first thing we noticed when we arrived, is that the temperature of the condo was very comfortable. The a/c was already turned on for us. Everything that we needed was available for our use. There were boogie boards, tanning mats, towels, sand toys, etc. We felt very welcome! The lanai had a gorgeous view. There really wasn't anything much that could have improved our stay, other than removing the fish smell in the fridge. Overall, we highly recommend this place.
Great location; Very nice condo

Fun in the sun with whales, dophins and friends.
This was the second year we have stayed in this condo and the experience was just as rewarding. The location is great. You can walk to the beach, shopping, movies and restaurants yet you are off the beaten track in a quiet friendly community. Unit 2002 is right on the water. We sat on the lanai everyday and saw whales and dolphins as well as great sunsets. The unit is clean, smartly furnished and close to the pool, community barbeque and walking path. Hard to beat.
Dolphins, surf and sunsets
Excellent two bedroom condo oceanside which was completely private. The lanai drips over the lava rock and so although there was a pathway below the lanai, the beach was not populated. Gave us the feeling of having our own private beach to watch all the action on the water. We needed a wheelchair accessible accommodation and this condo delivered in spades. Wheelchair lift into the unit as well as a wheel in shower with built in bench. Chuck was attentive and responsive to our needs. We would definitely stay here again.
What's not to like?
This worked out great. As a disabled traveler you never are overly confident about what you're getting into. Let me set the record on this place. No problems. Equipment I rented was there. Place was spotless and had great accessibility. Took only a few minutes to feel at home. That was a great feeling.
Paradise
This our 3rd year in a row staying at the condo . We love it there . Everything but your food is supplied in the unit for you . It is spotless . The lanai has a breathtaking view. The beds are very comfortable . The pools are clean and very relaxing. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Everything you need, with a view.
Very comfortable, well equipped condo. Well maintained and supplied with all the beach needs-towels, boogie boards, coolers. The decor was very well suited for Hawaii, as the pictures show. The owner has put effort into making it a relaxing vibe -local artwork. Perfect lanai for sunsets. I've stayed in at least 10 condos in Kanaloa, and this is a good choice.
Heavenly
This condo unit was wonderful. The location cannot be beat with its unobstructed view of water, whales everyday, it proximity to stores, restaurants and movies etc and beaches. It was wonderfully kept and it was great that the owners had a full supply of beach stuff and binoculars. We loved it. The only glitch was the cable but we contacted brooks and he was there in a flash and took care of it. He was great to work with. Mark

Relaxing vacation with great weather.
Nice quiet condo with many amenities. The Jacuzzi was a nice feature. The area is close enough to restaurants but not too close to interfere with privacy. We loved the view. Can't beat the nice weather. Staff were very friendly too.
Best of the Best on the Kona Coast
If there's a better condo than this...I'm not sure how it could be! What a thrill for us to walk into the door and see this wonderful unit. Was more than we could have hoped for. The cleanliness and attention to detail were superb. They thought about everything! If you are looking for a place where you are within walking distance to attractions this is not it. But if you want romance, zen views of waves and water, great location to drive short distances to explore, and feeling right at home...this is the place. I paid more than what I had budget for... but was everything I could have asked for in having the best. We bought some groceries and enjoyed breakfast in an unhurried setting before we went out. Actually it was tough for me to not just sit there for hours(!) and watch the waves and see the kayakers, paddlers, fishing boats and charters ply the waters in front of us. Unfortunately we didn't see any whales, but this would be the perfect viewing spot when they do come. We'll have to plan to come back and stay a lot longer next time. Four days was just not enough.
Wonderful Condo by the Ocean
Condo 2002 is a brethtaking unit close to the Ocean for years to remember. You can watch beautiful sunsets right from your lanai while enjoying your cocktail. Perfect location and very clean condo. I would recommend it to all my friends who want to visit Big Island.
A gorgeous condo in a spectacular location
We were very pleased with this accessible condo and its convenient location. It was spacious and comfortable throughout and we found everything we needed and more to use which made it feel like we were right at home.
Absolute Perfection & Very accessible
When we first walked in to the condo we were blown away by what we saw. The rooms were beautifully furnished, extremely clean and the view of the Pacific from the lanai was breathtaking. We can still hear the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the lava rocks on the shore. The condo was well-equipped with everything you might need, from kitchen supplies, to books, Dvd's, Cd's, beach towels, etc. It was great having wireless, internet service. As a bonus we saw dolphins and whales. Since my wife uses a wheelchair, it was wonderful to have such an accessible condo. The lift to reach the front door worked flawlessly. The roll-in shower, the two sinks in the master bathroom with one she could roll under, the spacious rooms, the wood floors - all made it easy to get around. This was definitely a terrific place to stay.
The Perfect Vacation!
Our stay at Kanaloa at Kona condo 2002 could not have been nicer. Our "home away from home" had everything we needed -- especially a spectacular view of the Pacific. The location was perfect and the owners left helpful advice about local restaurants, activities, etc. It was also so helpful having wireless Internet access, since I had to get some work done. As I said, everything was perfect!

Relaxing in Serenity
We had a great time exploring the island from our temporary home. The condo was spacious and clean with nice Zen touches. We loved siting on the lanai and hearing the ocean throughout the day. We used the binoculars to check for dolphins which we saw one afternooon.The condo had boogie boards, towels, and a cooler we used for the beach (also some pails, etc. for younger kids). The second bedroom had 2 beds so our kids (boy and girl) each had their own bed. There were ceiling fans in all the rooms so we could cool the condo off when it was warm. We paid for the air conditioning and we did use it about half the nights b/c of humidity, but tried to limit it, partly because we liked to hear the ocean and feel the breeze when there was one. There was some equipment in the closet of the 2nd bedroom for smaller children (a high chair I think, and some toys, possibly a playpen). I like having a washer and dryer (detergent provided) so we didn't have to bring as many clothes with us. There were also some games and Dvd's available which was great.There were several books available for reading and with info. on the Big Island for helping plan what you wanted to do. My husband loved playing the ukelele! He plays the violin at home so it was great for him to have an instrument available to play. We really like this condo and felt very relaxed there.
A Great Experience!
Our stay at the Kanaloa condo was outstanding. Unit 2002 was exactly as described and pictured on the website. The location directly at the water's edge was truly outstanding - just sitting on the lanai and watching the surf crash on the lava was both a real treat and very relaxing. We especially enjoyed dining on the lanai at sunset! The condo was immaculate and absolutely fully equipped - we especially appreciated the beach accessories including towels, mats and coolers. The complex grounds were immaculate and our arrival process was quick and painless. We enjoy a quiet environment when we vacation and this complex was especially so. We also took full advantage of the BBQ facilities at the complex. Overall, a completely satisfying and high-value experience! We would add that our email interactions with Mr. Buser were prompt and completely informative!

Wonderful view - sunsets etc.
By the Hoerdum Rossavik Family (Mom, Dad and 3 boys) We loved this condo, stayed there for 4 days in May 2009 (could have stayed for 10 yrs). Wonderful view of the ocean, interior of condo was amazeing (my wife even said she couldn't have decorated it better herself). Spotless clean. Owners had done every thing posible to make you feel welcome. Resort grounds very well maintained. GO GO... PS Loved Hawaii (our first visit, but certainly not last)
Great 20th Wedding Annersary vacation & great Marlin Fishing!
We had a fabulous time, and were blown away by the accomodation. The condo was beautiful and completely stocked with everyting anyone could ask for including, every spice you could think of, CD's DVD's, candles, & every kind of beach-fun need & binaculars. A beautiful lanai overlooking the ocean with an outside counter/sink and patio set. These owners made us feel like close personal friends. We could not have been more satisfied. Oh, and we caught a 130.5 lb. marlin!
Kanaloa 2002
Kanaloa Condo 2002 truly encompasses the idea of having "all the comforts of home." It's spacious, tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture and beds, meticulously clean, and has all the amenities you could possible need; not to mention an absolutely fantastic view of the Pacific. The Kanaloa grounds are exceptionally well maintained and with conveniently located BBQ's, tennis courts, golf, and your choice of three pools (one of which is an adult pool) with accompanying hot tubs within the complex, there's no shortage of ways to unwind, relax and enjoy your vacation!
Beautiful
Beautiful oceanfront condo with views that take your breath! We watched sunsets nightly, whales playing off the balcony and loved every second of our stay. Kanaloa at Kona is without a doubt old hawaii at its best and this condo is one of the premier condos at the resort.
Outstanding!
This was our second stay at Kanaloa at Kona and the first in Unit 2002. This condo is outstanding in every way - oceanfront (a rarity on the Big Island), private, quiet, elegantly furnished and spotlessly clean. There were numerous thoughtful, small touches - books to read, games, candles (we enjoyed several lovely candlelit dinners on the oceanfront deck), viewing telescopes, etc. This is a two bedroom, two bath unit and is quite spacious. The master bedroom and bathroom are quite large and there is plenty of storage for golf bags, snorkel gear, etc. The grounds at Kanaloa are well maintained. There are grills conveniently located nearby and the pools are clean (although they are small). We booked through Aloha Condos (for the second time); they are professional and quite straighforward. We had no interface with the Outrigger Kanaloa office, so I cannot comment there. We can't wait to return to Unit 2002! Enjoy...
Great Ocean Views!
Our family loved this unit. The Ocean views were outstanding. We saw whales and dolphins from the patio. Our grandson enjoyed the pool. I rented it for the wheel chair lift, but could not get it to work. The condo key would not fit the lift lock. Fortunately I did not have to use a wheel chair during our stay. Our contact was very helpful in allowing us to extend checkout time so the grandson could get in his much needed afternoon nap.

The Best Family Vacation
After spending 10 days at Kanaloa at Kona unit #2002, no one wanted to come home. This condo came with everything we could have asked for and then some. In the kitchen there were plenty of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, spices and even a coffee grinder for our morning Kona coffee. There were beach towels, coolers, chairs, boogie boards, snorkel's and many other beach toys for us to use. Our two boys ages 13 and 9 shared one of the beadrooms and bathrooms and had plenty of room to spread out. Our bedroom was very spacious and had more than enough space to put our things. I had every intention of using the jacuzzi tub in the evenings but could never tear myself away from the most amazing views we had from our lanai. Three sets of binoculars from the condo gave us all plenty of time to watch the whales jump in the water and whatever else happened to catch our eyes each day. We as a family spent a couple of hours every night out on our lanai, listening to the waves, watching the boats, and playing games such as yahtzee, dominoes and cards. These games were in our condo when we got there. What a great idea. Anyone with middle aged children will understand what I mean when I say it was great to get back to the basics. Things get so crazy back home with school, sports, and all the activities, that it was so nice to have family time again. The boys loved it and so did we. We used the pools at Kanaloa several times as our youngest found out that sea urchins kind of freak him out a bit so the ocean was not his best friend. We played tennis, grilled out on the BBQ's, and enjoyed the virgin lava flows from the restaurant and bar at Kanaloa. There is a big screen T.V. in the living room that we turned on only a couple of times to watch the big Island channel and the weather. The washer and dryer were also very usefull. Whenever we return to Hawaii, this will be the only place we will stay at as it was nothing less than spectacular.
Almost perfect
This is a classy, well-furnished and appointed, beautifully located, quiet, private unit situated right on the ocean. We spent many restful hours listening to the crashing surf and observing the canoe and kayak 'traffic' from the lanai. The downside was that our refrigerator failed after several days; we were told the frig had known problems and needed to be defrosted and was due for replacement. We were told to perform our own defrosting which we did, then cleaned up afterward ourselves. We were able to save some of our food in ice chests but also lost some of the more fragile items which we had to replace at our cost. When asked if we could extend our 10-day stay on departure day by several hours, we were told 'no'. The excuse was that someone else had rented the unit for our departure evening; however, the website booking calendar showed the unit as free. Other on-site property dwellers confirmed no one occupied the unit that evening. We are disappointed at this rigid application of checkout policy.
