Perfect!
Our stay was absolutly fantastic! we had a wonderful time and everything far exceeded our expectations! Impeccably maintained, clean and quiet. For sure, one of the best view of the entire resort. The sound of the ocean 24h/24, nice breeze. The location was also perfect. Far from the noise of Kona downtown and all that we need around: shopping center, grocery, restaurants etc. I had a nice walk (25 minutes) to the «Magic Sand Beach» almost every morning. We saw whalers, dolphins from our lanai too. The decor, the comfort of the condo. The resort is very clean and well maintain. Would like to come back for sure! Mahalo!

Paradise and more!
The condo was an amazing place, and much more than we expected based on the reasonable rates. We arrived to find a gift basket by the door and I told my husband that we were the ones that should have bought the gift because the place was so wonderful. Besides being a great base to see The Big Island, the condo grounds are beautiful and so upscale, and the condo itself is so huge and modern, with a wonderful wrap around lanai to sit out and enjoy the sounds of the birds and the great view of the golf course. It was the total package and I would return in a heart beat. One of the best features of this particular condo is the high ceilings, which rise to about 20 feet in some rooms. That's one of the perks of being on the third and top floor. We just had a ball, and the only regret is that we couldn't book longer because the condo was only available for 3 days while we were in the Big Island. Mahalo and aloha!!! Can't wait to go back. Noa

Girls Getaway
The condo was very clean and when I went to the kitchen there was a gift basket full of island fruits, coffee etc. The note in the basket gave us the name and contact number if we had any problems at the condo. What a nice surprise. Beds are very comfortable. The area is very quiet where the condo is situated except for the waves hitting the shore at night can be very loud. The condo is very close to the ocean so if you are a light sleeper I would not recommend staying here. All I can say is us girls had a wonderful time.

Wonderful
Two of us spent 6 nights here in early May and it was by far the nicest place we have stayed in the Kona area. The condo was very clean, fully appointed and equipped for every need during our stay, including beach/snorkling equipment and tons of beach towels. It was also incredibly quiet unlike some of the other popular beach areas. (Note - the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club is not for families with small children; it has no beach access and no facilities for them.) But for us it was the perfect place to start and end our days watching the ocean and surf; sunsets in particular were fantastic.

Excellent Value
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) recently spent 5 days in townhome 178, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waterside setting is beautiful, and provides cooling breezes and the delightful sound of crashing waves. The unit was quite clean, and the bedding was relatively new and of a nice quality. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax, and with cable TV in three rooms there were never any fights over what show to watch. There were snorkel gear, boogie boards, a cooler, beach mats, and beach towels, as well as tennis rackets and balls available for your use. Also free wi-fi that worked great. The tennis courts and swimming pool are right by the townhome, and were never crowded. A nice little beach is within walking distance, and the best snorkeling beach in the area is just 2 minutes drive down the road. A great shopping center with Longs Drug, a supermarket, and various eateries is just 2 minutes south. Families with kids will also want to check out the wonderful playground about 10 minutes south on highway 11. The little deck that the patio table sits on could use a fresh piece of outdoor carpet, and a little repair along the edges. The screen door is a bit finicky, as were the dresser drawers in the kids room. These minor things can mostly be attributed to wear and tear that comes from being situated on the water in a humid climate. But all in all, we were quite pleased with the townhome, and thought the price was excellent. You can't go wrong if you are a couple or family looking for a comfortable, laid back, quiet place to stay in the Kailua-Kona area.

The location of Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club could not be better: it is convenient to amenities including highway access to all parts of the Island, it is quiet, yet close enough to the village to enjoy browsing the shops. Unit 1-301 is unquestionably the best-situated unit in the complex. Its location offers expansive views of the sea and glorious sunsets, while ensuring utter privacy. This unit is bright and airy and is completely furnished for your comfort and convenience. One of the outstanding features of this listing is the friendly and attentive service provided by the owner. (The self closing toilet lids were a surprise. Dropped a few lids when we got home!) We (two couples) spent 10 fabulous days in February 2010 at Keauhou Kona Surf and Recquet Club Condo 1-301 and we all agreed that we picked the perfect spot and the perfect accommodation. This unit is awesome! We had plenty of space for 4 adults, although we spent very little time inside. If we weren't off exploring the Big Island, we were sitting on the wrap-around lanai enjoying the fantastic views - sunrises, whales, porpoise, sunsets, the crashing surf. Waking up to and falling asleep to the sound of the surf can't be beat. We really miss it. And the evenings were very comfortable with the ceiling fans and wonderful breezes through the windows and sliders. We appreciated having a full kitchen since we cooked most dinners (at the BBQ where we met many of the wonderful neighbors). All the beach gear - snorkels, masks, fins, coolers, towels, chairs, swim shoes - was also greatly appreciated. The owner has provided many amenities that I doubt other rentals provide. The close proximity to the grocery and drug store was a plus, and the best snorkeling was a 5-minute walk away. I would highly recommend this unit and will book it again if we return to the Big Island. A couple of activities we did that we would recommend to others: night time snorkel with manta rays (arranged through Snorkel Bobs with Neptune Charlies) and zip line adventure with Big Island Eco Adventures (made me feel like I was 10-years old again!).

We stayed in 1-301 for a portion of our honeymoon and LOVED it. First off, the location is nice and not too far from "downtown" Kona (a cab there will cost about $20 to Huggo's). The parking spot is right in front. Being on the 3rd (top) floor gives you the best ocean breezes and your comfortable even when its well into the 80s outside. Inside, it is very tastefully decorated, the kitchen had almost Everything we could need, and the snorkel equipment/towels/mats/etc. were all perfect. And, the BEST part of the condo is the lanai- being on the corner of the building it is private and it has views all around, great furniture, and is THE best spot for a sunset dinner you could find. We saw wales breach just out in the ocean in front of us.
Privacy while being near the action.

We really enjoyed staying in this 3rd story, ocean front end unit. There was complete privacy, yet we could look down to see the tennis courts to check if the 7am regulars had showed up yet. And of course, it is ocean front so you can really enjoy the sounds and smells of the ocean, as well as the great sunsets. We enjoyed walking to snorkeling, playing tennis, and going to the farmer's market for fresh produce (it would have been nice to have a salad spinner to wash the lettuce). Everything in the unit was clean. It was very well-stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. The only non-working item was the CD/radio player. We are looking forward to staying at this unit next year.

This was our second time around in two years at this unit. Jan to March is the best time to watch the whales off the lanai - one day we probably counted over 20 different "spouts" - the whales and their calves spend the winter every year just off the coast in the Kailua-Kona area. The location of the condo in Keahou is great - it's quiet enough at the Surf & Racquet club to relax and just a 10 drive or so up Alii drive to Huggo's or Lulu's or Bongo Billy's to have some fun and great food if you don't feel like using the kitchen or grill's just down the stairs. The place is private, clean, comfortable and has everything you could need for the perfect vacation.

We loved our stay and wished we had booked more time in 1301. We were looking for OF with privacy and found it here. The view was amazing with daily whale and some dolphin shows. We hated to leave even for our favorite activities--golf and snorkeling. We cooked all our meals so we could enjoy more time on the lanai watching sunsets and whales. The home is well maintained with all the amenities you would need for your stay. The only negative comment I could make was about the ants in the kitchen. Keeping it clean was a must. If all renters did this it would be less of a problem so I didn't let this reflect on my opinion of the condo. Also, be warned of the toe jamming bed frame. We are already planning our next trip to the Big Island and will try to book 1301 for our stay. Rusty and Mickey Boggess San Antonio, Texas Jan 22-27, 20010

The wrap around lanai feels private and lets you admire the Pacific up and down the coastline. We were lucky enough to observe some whales and a group of dolphins while we were there. Since this unit is on the top floor, the ceilings are vaulted and really gives the unit a nice feeling. We toured a 2nd floor unit that was for sale which didn't have vaulted ceilings and it makes a difference. We would stay here again.

Starting with the reservation process - it was easy and clear. I got regular updates and the condo owner/manager was responsive to my email inquiries. The check-in / check-out process was also easy! Upon arrival - the condo was clean and met my expectations! The pictures on the web site reflects the actual condo set-up and decor. The condo is spacious, with vaulted ceilings and nice breeze through out. The master bedroom is nice - the bed is comfortable and with the lanai doors open - the ocean waves put you to sleep. Slight down side to the master bedroom is the sliding doors separate the living room and the master bedroom - not very much privacy. The condo owner/manager has equipped the condo with all kinds of things that were nice surprises - snorkel gear, beach towels, beach chairs, plenty of towels, washer/dryer with laundry detergent, pots and pans and dishes and utensils, cooking spices and condiments, DVD player, books, and games. The lanai was my favorite - the condo is a corner unit so the lanai wrapped around. It was big enough to hold a lounge chair, high-top table and stools and another table and chairs. It was the perfect place to sit and watch the water. We even spotted a whale from the lanai! The condo was more than we expected. It was a lovely stay!

This was our first visit to the Big Island. After reading the reviews, we selected Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club, 1-301. Although we didn't need a 2-bedroom unit, we chose it because of its top floor, private setting and wrap-around deck -- and we're glad we did! We've stayed in condos in several other locations previously. This was the most thoughtfully furnished one we have enjoyed. We chose to have leisurely breakfasts and dinners on the deck. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, down to the smallest details. There was everything (and more!) than we could have wanted for enjoying the beaches -- picnic coolers, and even beach chairs and an umbrella. Besides being well furnished, the unit and everything in it was spotlessly clean. We immediately felt comfortable there. The condo's location was excellent -- right on the water; away from the noise of more densely populated areas and traffic, but with convenient access to snorkeling, shopping, and major roads. The gas barbeques in the adjacent outdoor kitchen were convenient, like new, and clean. The pool is large; the grounds attractive and well-kept. The only thing we would have liked was air-conditioning, since the weather was hot and humid. But excellent cross-ventilation and ample fans kept the breezes flowing. We definitely recommend this as a great place to stay.

We eloped on the Big Island and this was an ideal spot to have as a "home base" for our romantic week long retreat! Very private and quiet. The end unit has spectacular views and wonderful breezes - you can actually FEEL the surf hit the lava beach right outside - it's that close! The sunsets were all spectacular, and the little birds in the coconut tree right off the lanai were a nice treat! I felt that a small closet safe for valuables would be a nice addition so you wouldn't have to feel the need to close windows to lock up and stop the excellent cross breezes. Shopping for food and beverages was nearby and convenient, and the condo was really well equipped with all kitchen and day excursion items we needed, including some great guide books, maps, coolers and snorkel gear. The stereo was key, as there is great island radio to listen to (although having one with an iPod port would be a nice addition). We encountered one or two creepy crawlies, but that's the tropics for 'ya. Very minimal, and the geckos are charming! We had an excellent, relaxing stay, and I would definitely recommend it, especially for a peaceful, private getaway for a couple.

The place we stayed at was right overlooking the ocean which was great. The only problem was since the windows faced south the place got very hot and with no air conditioning, at times, it was uncomfortable. We did a fair amount of snorkeling at the beach just to the west of us. It is great for snorkeling but not good at all for swimming and there was very little beach. It was nice to have all the snorkel equipment in the place plus beach chairs. We made use of the bbq just about every night. The unit needs to look at the tv and dvd player in the second bedroom since they were not working. We had a great trip to see the lava flowing into the ocean. We stopped at the Black Sands Beach and got to see turtles resting right on the beach. Our next trip might be in the winter so that we could see the whales in the ocean. The ocean did not have any animal activity to it at all - not even birds.

We had a fabulous time in Unit 1-301. The setting and views are absolutely stunning. This has to be the best unit in the whole complex; its wraparound lanai is perfect for watching the orange ball of sun drop into the ocean every night. And there's complete privacy; no other units have a direct view of the lanai. We ate nearly every meal there -- it was better than the best restaurant in Kailua. That's partly because of the well-appointed kitchen, which encouraged us to "eat in." The rest of the appointments were thoughtful and complete, from the nice bedding and furniture to such details as tennis rackets (even tennis balls), a large selection of books and DVDs, snorkeling equipment, coolers and umbrellas for beach picnics. There was even a radio that would magically play Do Ho music at sunset to enhance the "true" Hawaii experience -- a glass of wine and some Macadamia nuts on the lanai as the ocean surf crashed near our feet. It was all there - and we didn't want to leave. But we did leave by day to explore nearly every corner of the Big Island during our week there. Thank you to Jacque for making available such a fine place from which to enjoy the wonders of Hawaii.

The view was amazing, the property owner was very easy to deal with, and it was extremely close to great restaurants and the highway. The wraparound deck gives you the most magnificent view of the ocean. I really loved the amenities - the kitchen was useful for cooking and keeping snacks, snorkel gear was provided, laundry is in the unit, and we ate everyday on the large deck. Something to keep in mind when booking this specific unit: there is no a/c but a great breeze off the ocean as well as many ceiling and stand fans, there is a partition separating the master bedroom from the living room which made it noisy when our friends were up earlier then we were, and there is no beach access from the condo area. Outside the room, a pool and tennis courts are available. I highly recommend staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Looking around it looks like this may be the best of the condos in the resort - possibly even in Kona? I bet they get a lot of inquiries from guests asking if the owner wants to sell it. It was tough to leave for home. It was as close to perfect a vacation as we could have hoped for. By far the best part is sitting on the lanai watching the whales (and they were very active when we were there) and the boats - away from all the tourists downtown. We spent a day at Volcano National Park and a day trip to Waimea & Hilo and had a suitcase full of coffee, macadamia nuts, and t-shirts to show for it but one week is all too short a time to spend out here. I guess it eases the pain of leaving knowing that we can come back - so I'm tempted to leave a negative review so we can have the place all to ourselves for the next time.

It was quiet at night and we slept well in the beds. There was a very nice bowl of fresh fruit and coffee waiting for us on our arrival, which was most appreciated. The location was terrific, within walking distance of a terrific beach that had amazing snorkeling and great shallow areas for children to play in. It was a wonderful stay.

We stayed at Condo 6-301 in November 2011. At $89/night this was good value for money. Its conveniently located next to a shopping centre. Next door is a golf course. The unit has a very large, nice balcony looking out on immaculately landscaped grounds complete with ancient Hawaiian ruins. Armchair archeologists ... take note! As well, there is a charming little black sand beach (with more ancient ruins) between the Racquet Club and the Outrigger next door, complete with two chairs under a tree for weary beachcombers! We found the petroglyphs which are chipped into the lava rock ledge just off shore. Next door is the Outrigger Hotel. At the Outrigger Verandah Lounge the drinks are cheap ($4-$5) during the daily happy hour 4-6 pm. As well the Verandah Lounge is a nice place to watch the sunset and at night the hotel lights up the adjacent tidal pool so that you can see the fish swimming around, all while you are sitting in comfy chairs with a $5 mai-tai in your hand. Now that's my kind of snorkling! The unit had no air conditioning, but in November we did not need it. The unit needs some minor renovations such as new carpet (or a carpet shampoo), but otherwise it was fine. And there was a noisy chirping gecko that woke us occassionally in the night, but we didn't care because we didn't have to work the next morning. And it is on the third floor with no elevator, but our legs work fine so this was not a problem for us. Overall, good value for money! We would stay there again.

The unit is large and very well equipped with a well stocked kitchen and lots of beach ware. A nice view across the golf course from the large lanai which was a great place to read in the afternoon. The unit comfortably slept our family of four without any use of the sofa bed. The beds were good and although there was no a/C there was no issue with temperature because of all the windows. The kids appreciated having their own twin size beds and bathroom. If there was one opportunity for improvement I would say that the unit needs a good cleaning/inspection. I'm sure some parts of the unit were cleaner when we left than when we arrived. We even changed a few light bulbs. The dishwasher was also not great which may have been why we had to hand wash dishes when we first arrived. This was our first experience with a vacation rental and it worked out very well for us.

With a car most attractions are in reach. Kailua Kona is a very busy town, but the apartment is beautiful and relaxing. The apartment was a good base for us to explore the Island. We drove up to Manuna Loa for the sunset, which was great. Most impressive was the Manta Dive with Kona Honu Divers. The helicopter ride with Paradise Helicopters over the Volcano out of Hilo was great too (have the doors removed!). Bubba Gump is the place for diner in Kailua. Whalewatching is a must too (between Jan. and April).

For our first trip to the Big Island, this condo was perfect for us and our two teenage girls. The place was freshly remodeled and very new and tidy. It was very tastefully decorated with fun colors and decorations... we loved it! It had a great lanai where we ate many meals overlooking the golf course, green landscape and our small view of the ocean. It came equiped with many useful necessities such as a beach umbrella, towels and chairs. It was also great to have the washer/dryer in the unit. The only downfall was it was on the 3rd floor, which was a bit of a challenge hauling our stuff up and down each day, but it did make for some nice views. It was also very hot when we arrived, but opening all the windows and using the many fans quickly made it perfectly comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Location, location, location. Hey...it's everything. And this condo has a wonderful location. Incredible sunsets, whale watching, boats, paddlers, surf, and so very quiet, except for the surf, which lulls you to sleep. The unit is quite nicely appointed with almost everything you would need, and for the most part is quite comfortable. I do feel as if the living room furniture is getting a bit tired, but considering the location... Additionally, the closest grill is on the far side of the parking lot, which is already a bit removed from the front door. But, with drink in hand we managed. The condo complex is very conveniently located with grocery and shopping very close by, and downtown Kona is only a 15 minute drive, or trolley ride away. In summary...we really enjoyed it.
Manager response:
I do appreciate the many positives from all the reviews and am always looking for ways to improve my service and help my guests. With this in mind, I'd like to make a suggestion about doing BBQs. The KKSRC complex does not allow individual home owners to have BBQs at their units. However, they have placed grills near all the buildings (e.g. at the end of my parking lot) and they have built a large beautifully landscaped and well equipped covered BBQ complex just my side of the tennis courts, an easy walk. It has 2 separate grills, water & sink and a grass covered volleyball court next to it. After a day of deep sea fishing, I have gathered there many times with family and friends for fresh caught BBQ'd ocean delicacies--really a beautiful place for a BBQ. As far as the living room furniture goes, there is a large couch but it is in excellent condition and it has a queen size pull out bed built into it, so would prefer not to have to replace it in the near future. Please note that the ocean waves can be louder during stormy weather it is near the condo or out to sea. Normally (nearly all the time), the wave sound is just a soothing gentle lapping against the rocks. Please see other guest comments on how they loved the ocean sounds while at my condo.

Great value in Kona at this condo. The owner is very responsive to email, and willing to address any concerns you may have. They left a beautiful fruit basket for us to welcome us to the island. Beach toys in good shape at the unit. The kitchen is in adequate shape, with Bbqs available on site, and a KTa grocery with excellent meats and great deals on fresh fish just up the hill. Beautiful sunsets from this unit, and you occaisionally will see dolphins playing outside. Always see outriggers practicing in the morning, and I'm sure you will have whales in season. The one complaint about the unit is the thickness of the ceiling where you can hear the people in the unit above walking around...but otherwise the value for a 2 bedroom with ocean view is incredible!
Manager response:
As the Owner of the condo, I have never noticed any unusual (or any for that matter) walking noise from people above my unit and have never received any feedback from other guests concerning this. However, I'm sure it is possible from time to time to notice this, but this is normal for any condo, hotel or motel that has a unit above. I'm sure the advantage of a ground floor unit far exceeds an occasional walking noise from above. If you notice any unusual and/or extended noises, please call my Contact Person or the Surf & Racquet Club residence manager, (numbers are listed in my condo). Aloha, Kim Spitze, condo Owner

Large roomy condo with great location for ocean viewing. There is no beach access since the shoreline here is large lava boulders and cliffs. There is a great State Park beach just minutes away for swimming, snorkeling, sunning, etc.
Manager response:
My web page does indicate what the area in front of my condo looks like. The big advantage of no sand beach in front of the condo's lanai is that you will have more privacy, and the only noise you will hear will be the gentle pounding of the surf on the rocks. In addition, just about 100 yards to the left of the condo, at the edge of the golf course, you can find a natural lava blow hole. So all told, I feel it is an advantage not to have to deal with all the foot traffic, potential problems and noise a condo front sand beach would bring. My condo is uniquely located by being surrounded by the golf course and ocean to allow for maximum privacy, relaxation and great views of the ocean, sea life and cruise ships as they come and go from the distant town of Kailua-Kona. As mentioned in this review, there is a nearly by sand beach about a 10 minute walk away that has some of the best snorkeling etc for miles in any direction. To learn more about my condo and the area, please feel free to read other past Guest's opinions included in this review section.

We were within short walking distance to Kahaluu Beach Park as we loved the snorkeling there and it was great being provided with boogie boards and snorkel gear so we didn't have to buy those items. Shopping was close by too. With all the fabulous beaches and exciting things to do, we regrettably ran out of time to try out the tennis courts. Our only complaint is that our time was too short there and we can only dream of getting back as soon as possible!

We really appreciated the waterfront view and ground floor location. There were lots of water "toys" for us to use. The grounds were lovely, lots of birds and flowers. The ancient ruins on the site were a bonus. The proximity to Kahaluu Beach was great for snorkeling. The kitchen was a little dated and the smell from the sink was not good. The gift basket for the first morning was really appreciated.
Manager response:
As the Owner of the condo, I always make sure it is in top condition for my guests. The condo is checked by my contact person and cleaned for 3-4 hours by the cleaning person upon guest departure, and is additionally checked again before the next guest arrives. If anything is not perfect, out of place, smells bad etc it will be detected before the next guest arrives. Contacting my cleaning person and contact person did confirm these facts. Sometimes it is possible, while a guest is staying at the condo that things may happen to cause something to be not be quite right. For this reason, I have paid a local contact person to always be available by phone for the guests to take care of any problems that may arise. Please contact this person, whose name and contact number is listed in the condo, and is additionally sent by email to my guests before arrival, if any problems should arise.
I'm not sure what" dated" Kitchen refers to, but I can state that the kitchen has been recently updated to include all new major and small appliances, resealed kitchen cabinets, a new state-of -the -art brushed nickel sink faucet, paint etc. The kitchen counter top is tile and not granite, so maybe this is "dated" to some people. However I do know that the kitchens in many new homes on the mainland are still installed with tile.
Also, please keep in mind the kitchen photo on the web site in older (October 2009) and does not reflect the current state (many updates in April 2010).

My wife, three daughters, and I stayed in KKSRC Condo 5-103 for a week in April and would definitely stay here again on a future visit. With the off-season rate, we were able to stay in this beautiful, 2 Br oceanside condo for little more than a room in a typical chain hotel on the mainland. The condo was clean and comfortable with beds for 3 people in the second bedroom (fifth person didn't have to stay on a hide-a-bed). The unit is ground floor and right next to the ocean. We ate our meals at the table on the lanai to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for the cooking we did. A gift basket from a local vendor was a nice touch. The condo includes coolers for your day trips, beach chairs and towels, a couple boogie boards, a couple sets of snorkeling gear - we pretty much just had to provide food. The condo is just a minute or two away from a shopping center with a grocery and a drug store, which is very convenient. Also, it is located just a minute from Kahaluu Beach Park, which has great snorkeling. We saw more variety of fish here than on our snorkeling expedition. Communication from the owners was great, from clear information regarding billing and policies to the instructions for getting into the unit. As I said in the title, a great place to stay on the big island.

Condo 5-103 was a wonderful experience. It was well equipped with many needed items such as beach equipment, dishes, towels, etc. and had 3 TV's as well as great wireless internet. The only thing preventing me from rating it 5 stars is the dated condition of some of the condo. The second bathroom needed some work, the kitchen was a little dated, we had issues with the vertical blinds. However, it was clean and well stocked, as well as having an excellent location so we over-looked those minor issues. All in all I would very much recommend this condo to others.

So per some suggestions, just did some renovations to the condo that have included some updates to the kitchen, including a new ceramic top range. I have also installed new easy to use bamboo blinds for the master bedroom and living room and added a paddle style ceiling fan/light in the lanai, plus many other fixes and improvements (including a spotting scope for the guest's enjoyment).
Thank you to all the guests for your feedback and all the great reviews!

Absolutely perfect! The condo was COMPLETELY stocked and in a most private location. The grounds staff was so helpful and kind and did a great job keeping everything lush and beautiful. The condo was so inviting and comfortable for our family (3 adults & 3 young children). But it would also make a very romantic escape, minus the kids. We rarely return to the same place twice so that we can experience new places. This is one exception. With out a doubt we would go back again and again. Listening to the surf lull you to sleep and watching whales from the lanai were just two of the many incredible things we enjoyed here. They had everything you would at home from beach and snorkel gear to office supplies and laundry dryer sheets, it's all here! We really appreciated the welcome basket, it was nice to have local farmers market items like fresh fruits and muffins to hold us over until we could get to the store. If you are considering staying here, go for it, you won't be disappointed. Check out the blowholes along the shore just a minute walk towards the golf course, during high tide the water really shoots up!

It was a very pleasant experience in condo 5-103. The rental process was realy easy. As we were commimg from Austria which means a 20 hour flight, it was important for us to find everything perfect immediately, and it was. . Very clean, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. The only noise you get to hear are the ocean waves breaking just a few meters away. Even with three children age 12,12 and 16 the condo offered enough space. The swimming pool was very nice and the nearby snorkelbeach was perfect. We highly recommend this condo. Even if it's a long flight we are planning our return already.

We stayed for two nights in this very nice end unit with the ocean just across the walkway. It's a bit out of town and the parking is about 75 yards from the door, but it easily accomodated two couples, was nice and clean, and the management company was most helpful. There was somebody parking in our parking space when we arrived, but they took care of it right away and we had no other problems at all. We did not use the tennis courts, but they looked as if they were well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

The condo was very nice. The kitchen is arranged to accommodate family gatherings, or comfortable informal meals. However, there is no kitchen table, the island provides a nice area where you can eat. We rented two other condo's at the same time to have a family vacation together. This unit was perfect for congregating for our meals and family time away from the beach. It was a step above the others with a walk in shower for the master. It is stocked well with pans and necessary kitchen items, bath towels, beach toys, etc. so we had a great time. The only draw back is that although it is a beautiful setting we had to drive to beaches but we knew this before going so it was not an issue for us and almost a safety feature for having 8 grandchildren together by the water.

Absolutely love this unit--beautiful kitchen, great furnishings, great relaxing furniture and a fantastic lanai looking out onto the ocean!! The location is fantastic--excellent snorkeling within walking distance & just a 5 minute drive to downtown Kona. My only reservation was the sounds/noise heard from other guests staying at htis complex. We were on the second floor, and therefore heard noise from below & above. Our downstairs neighbors complained to us about our noise! And, believe me, all we did was walk gently. Its just the way the buildings are built. The buildings have no air conditioning which is not really necessary for temperature control (wonderful ocean breezes), but for noise control, it would have been nice to close the windows at night. Also, we were there during the busiest time of year (Christmas, 2011). I suspect that during less busy times, there is less noise. Having said that, I still really love this place. Next time I'll bring my ear plugs.

The gorgeous kitchen is great for cooking and sharing family meals and the 'smart' appliances, comfortable beds and beautiful furnishings make this space very special. Close proximity to 2 great beaches and snorkeling spots plus the down town shopping district made our stay the total package.

I researched for days trying to locate the best condo for my family. I am a single mom with 3 teenagers so it was hard to find enough space for all of us. I found it here. First, the location is a minute from the grocery store plaza, but more importantly for us farther away from the bustle of town. We loved to go into town for shopping and dining and enjoyed coming back to our quiet resort. This condo is amazing. The view from the wrap around covered porch took my breath away. It was my favorite part of the condo. The furniture was soft, comfortable and placed to see an ocean view from every seat. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and was masterfully designed with the large granite island and countertops. The best of everything was put into this kitchen. The beds and baths were immaculately kept and very comfortable. I especially liked the deck and windows open to the ocean breezes at night. The owner, Jay was extrememly efficient and pleasant. He answered every question I had in no time at all. I had left some personal items there at the condo and I contacted him and he was on it and they were shipped to me immediately. That says a lot to his character and his passion for his rental and clients. I will come back to this exact unit and if you are looking for a condo in Kona look no more, you found it.

This unit was fantastic. The first thing that blew us away was the view. The quality of the unit was also a nice surprise. We stayed at the Hilton King's Land first then rented 5-201 for the last few days of our vacation in Kona. We all agreed that for us the Keauhou Kona condo fit our family (2 adults 2 older teenage boys) much better than the bigger resorts. Nearby snorkeling was also better here than the Hilton. I loved the fact that they had some flippers that we could borrow. Hope I don't convince too many people to book here because we would love to come back. Fyi - the master bedroom is separated from the living area by shoji sliding screens. This gives it less of a private feel than a full wall. The second bedroom is more private.

We had a wonderful time staying at this condo. The owner was punctual and provided us with all the information about the condo each step of the way. This particular condo was nice, because it was tastefully remodeled and had an open feel. We visited another building within the same club, and they weren't as nice. The lanai is big and private. The other buildings were much closer together, so there wasn't much privacy. I was a bit concerned about the noise of the waves keeping me awake at night, but with the windows closed, I was able to sleep through the night. Overall, the condo was very well equipped for guests to enjoy the island vacation. One thing that bothered me was that the coffee machine didn't look very clean. Maybe just mineral deposits or something. Good thing we took some instant coffee with us... Thank you, we had a great time!

Wow!!! Of the many condos I have rented in my many trips to the various Hawaiian Islands, this is without a doubt the finest. -Ocean view: any closer and you would get wet. The condo is situated to have an unobstructed view for miles up the coast. -Privacy: Being on the second floor, no passerbys can see in. Being an end unit, there are lots of windows and on all three sides, but adjacent buildings are not close and they are situated so they can not easily see inside. We kept the drapes open the entire week to fully enjoy the spectacular view of ocean, mountains, and golf course. -Quiet: It is well off alii Drive, so no road noise or traffic. Being the last building in the complex, it is surrounded by ocean or golf course and little pedestrian traffic. Very peaceful feeling here. We were surprised to find that there is even an ancient heiau (temple) archeological site just 20 feet off the lanai. -Upscale and modern design: We thought we were staying in a private residence. It appers to be freshly remodeled as everything looks new and very clean. Furniture was upscale and not the usual rental condo rattan stuff. Only natural stone on floors and countertops, and stainless appliances in kithen. Both TVs were flat panal Lcds. Highly recommended, I am definitely coming back here to this unit. Probably the nicest condo for rent on the island.

The rental was very clean and comfortable and the beds were firm. The two cleaning ladies who came mid-stay were polite and happy. The geckos who visited were very cute! There was no noise at night. The location was perfect for us as we were away from downtown Kailua-Kona and near a shopping center with a local flavor. The rental is located mid-way between the beautiful north Kona beaches and rough and tumble South Point and Green Sand Beach. We loved being able to walk to a Wednesday Farmer's Market and the County Beach where snorkling was excellent. Only one person in our group is a pool swimmer and she loved the pool and facilities. The rental is getting a little worn around the edges. The bath towles are ragged, the blender leaked black rubber goo, the pictures on the wall in the upstairs bath are sun-faded, the silverware doesn't match and there was not enough drinking glasses. All the ceiling fans are great and necessary, but they are a bit old and some only work on one speed. All those little details meant was the place was very good rather than excellent. A little TLC is all that's needed! There's a folder by the owner about local things to do and places to eat, but it's dated 2006 and many things have changed and phone numbers no longer work.

Had a fantastic time on the island and townhouse 178 was great. The view each evening was more than you could ask for. Spinner dolphins, whales and beautiful sunsets. Interior of the townhouse could use a little TLC. A fresh coat of paint would do wonders. The beach equipment and books about the Island were very much appreciated and made our stay more enjoyable. Reading the guest books gave us some ideas that I am sure we would not have thought of. If you don't mind hiking a bit there are several very nice beaches that are not crowded, check out the book. The farmers markets are the way to go for fresh produce. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer. The grounds and other facilities at the complex are well maintained and the residents are very friendly. The tennis pro spent quite a bit of time with my boys who had never played tennis. Another local gentleman who fished along the shore each day helped one of the boys catch his first fish out of the ocean. One of the highlights of the trip was the whale watching adventure. If you want to go out with a smaller group (5 or 6 people) try "living ocean adventures". All in all a great place as a base to explore the island. We wouldn't hesitate to return to townhouse 178 in the future. Coming home to the snow and cold I wish we could have turned around and gone right back.

Aloha Condos was prompt and efficient in processing our reservation. The unit was in good condition and the location was incomparable: you could get splashed by the surf on the lava rocks just sitting on your lanai. It's a short drive into Kona town and it was handy to have the shopping center, cinema, and post office a short walk up the hill. Just a heads-up, the directions we received from Aloha were backwards on the turn onto Alii; (should've said left, not right). We ended up in the shopping center, but figured it out from there. Also, we had no idea that lots of beach stuff was stored under the stairs (did we miss a note somewhere?), so ended up buying some items we didn't need. Right outside the door is a significant historical cultural site, a reminder of the highly structured indigenous society which preceded corporate dominance of the islands.

The view was incredible - all OCEAN and black rock!!! The place #178 was fine - decorations were very good and the back lanai was GREAT - we ate or sat there nearly every nite. Kitchen needs more supplies and place needs some upgrades and paint. FYI, for those that must have A/C there is no A/C on the 2nd floor where the bedrooms are located. That should be noted in the on-line description - my husband really likes A/C when sleeping but I was ok. The unit needs small maintenance and could use some freshening of paint and some new items where sea air and wear and tear has left it below average. As an owner of 2 vacation rental homes, I would add a large flat screen tv and upgrade the bedroom tv size. I left a message with the local manager with a list of suggestions. It was off season so there were not too many other renters but sounds carry there. The pool was good. The nearby scuba diving was GREAT and we saw giant manta rays both on the manta dive and on a shore dive - that alone was worth the trip! It was an easy location and we would consider coming back for the view and diving !

We (2 couples) spent a great week in this very comfortable townhouse. The sunsets on the patio were glorius with the surf breaking on the volcanic rocks in front. The proximity to the ocean was a real plus but it did present a problem during a storm, as the lower windows and patio door on the ocean side were barricaded for protection for a day and a half. On the other hand we also watched grey whales from the patio. Some nice shoreline walks from right off of the patio. There is good snorkleing in a well protected bay within easy walking disance, ideal for the beginner and lots of marine life. We did a few runs on the beach road in the morning and followed them with a quick ocean dip or in the complex's pool. The location was very convenient to a local shopping mall including a good grocery store, and pharmacy along with a couple of decent restaurants. Lots more shopping and dining in nearby Kona. Our only complaint is we spent too much time touring the island and not enough on the patio.

The condo had a great location. I loved the sound of the ocean. I prefer condos that are better maintained, or newer. There were numerous places where rust was showing through and the ceiling fan in the upper bathroom was dirty as was the ceiling. Other condos where I have stayed had matching dishes and newer pans. There was no gate opener as stated in the e-mail (not a problelm really). The pictures were dated and could be improved with newer framing. The bathroom floor grout needs a good bleaching. The screen on the left window in the master bedroom was not secrue against the window and buggs got in. As condos go, for the price it was nice. However, for the price I have also had nicer condos. The weather all week was wonderful - very much like the Dominican. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need and then some. Excellent snorkelling very close by as well as shopping centre with grocery store. Pool was very nice and relaxing - quiet. Only issue we had is that the cleaning staff needs to do a much better job on the bathrooms. Dust on the ceilings fans and on the bathroom walls. Dark hairs in both showers and on the floor and walls. Just about called to have them come clean it immediately - we should have! We would definitely stay again but would make sure when we book that we mention this issue.

It was our 25th Anniverary. My wife loves the ocean and I wanted a place where we were right on the beach (so to speak) as there is no beach but there is nothing between us and the water. We spent a week in the condo and another week at various B&B around the island. At first I though it rather expensive compared to the B&Bs but they were not on the water and we had to eat lunch and dinner out each night. You can cook your own meals and pack lunches so the cost works out the same or maybe even cheaper in the end. The condo slept four but there were only the two of us. Our neighbors in the next condo stayed there and went to all parts of the island on day trips. Had I to do it over again I would stay at the condo the whole trip and do the same. We used the tennis courts but not the pool. We always swam in the ocean and there was a beach within walking distance. Sitting there, drinking wine, with the ocean crashing just feet away, watching the sun go down every day was awesome. Only once was it so hot that we had to turn the AC on but I was glad that I had it. I would return if it didn't take a whole day on a plane to get there.
