Excellent

Very nice condo, so spacious, clean. You can’t get any closer to the ocean, unless you’re on a boat. The owner was very responsive to our requests. Definitely recommend.

— Lauren S, Stayed 03/19/2020

Wonderful place to stay!

We stayed at Thor's condo in February, 2020. The view from the lanai is nothing short of spectacular! We loved the condo. It was well equipped--from kitchen supplies to beach chairs! Parking is close and the grills outside are right out the door. Watching the daily sunset is a must! We highly recommend this condo. less

— Lori, Stayed 02/25/2020

Great Stay

Great condo in a great location. We loved relaxing on the ocean front lanai and falling asleep to the sound of the surf. The condo had everything we needed. Loved it.

Surf & Racquet Club #1-203

We stayed in this condo for 8 nights, direct waterfront 2nd floor unit, beautiful gardens and well maintained grounds with BBQ grills. This unit was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and beach chairs and coolers. The condo was clean but need some updating, there was some deck tiles was cracked and chipped and one electrical outlet was shorting, other than that our stay was very comfortable. less

— Johnny, Stayed 07/25/2019

Owner/Manager Response

Thanks for staying at our condo. The electrical outlet has been replaced and we are arranging for someone to come and replace the cracked tiles. Thanks for bringing these to our attention.

Really nice stay!

We came in to close a house deal that took a little longer than expected. We really enjoyed our stay at 1-203! The place was clean and beautiful. Oceanfront... amazing! Thor was great to work with. Friendly and nice. Thank you!

Our recent stay in Kona

We recently stayed a week at Keauhou Kona surf and Racquet club condo 1-203. The condo was very clean and comfortable! The ocean view was spectacular! We enjoyed having coffee on the lanai overlooking the ocean. We fell asleep listening to the waves. The condo does need updating but we would definitely stay again. Thor responded in a timely manner to any questions we had. less

Oceanfront bliss

Big Island oceanfront doesn't get much better. Breakfast on the lanai as well as the best sunset viewing on the lounge chairs were top of the mark. This condo has everything you need right down to the beach towels and snorkel equipment. There are spices and condiments in the well equipped kitchen, A coffee grinder, French press and drip coffee maker gave us choices for that wonderful Kona coffee. The condo main living/kitchen area is nicely updated as well as the master bedroom furniture. The living room furniture is on its last legs though and was not very comfortable. The bathrooms are sorely in need of updating, but they were clean and functional. less

Fantastic

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I felt we were at a home away from home no sterile motel feel. Beautiful views great location. Loved the extras— towels, chairs, spices etc. Hope to return for a longer stay next time. Dolphins, whales sunsets, wave action directly in front of condo. Snorkeling daily at multiple sites within an easy drive. Grilling fresh fish nightly. Perfect spot less

Spacious & awesome view

We have stayed at Keauhou Surf & Racquet Club several times, and keep returning because we love the location, view, and amenities here. Unit 1-203 was clean and comfy. Perfect for friends, as you have separate bedroom/bathroom areas for privacy. Plenty of ocean breezes and sounds of the waves. We did have problems with the DVD player, which didn't work - although the property manager was VERY very responsive, he was unable to fix or replace it during our stay. We didn't mind so much as TV is simply not necessary when you have the ocean at your feet. As others have mentioned, there are a few things that could use some attention (i.e. sliding doors and burned-out lightbulbs) but none of which hampered our enjoyment of this great condo! We would definitely return. less

— Joyce, Stayed 02/23/2019

As advertised!!

Recently returned from a week long stay on the Big Island and very happy with our choice of accommodation. Two adult couples were very comfortable in this condo, which truly did have everything we needed (though we purchased and left for others two softer standard pillows and a new tub sheet for the bathtub as the one provided still felt slippery in the bathtub - personal preferences), including pots, pans, lots of dishes, beach towels etc. The condo was really as advertised: SUPERB location (gorgeous nightly sunsets, whales breaching, dolfins swimming, water crashing below), close to grocery store, drug store, and Sam Choy's (great open air restaurant), and a little bit in need of some sprucing up. Most of that did not affect our stay at all, though we were very careful with the sliding screen doors which seem a bit fragile at this point, and the tile on the lanai is cracking to an extent that may become an issue for bare feets in the not too distant future...but Thor was great to work with, arrival and departure went off without a hitch, the actual condo is in the building closest to the pool, tennis courts, and BBQ's, and we would return here in a heartbeat. Thank you!! less

— Mary, Stayed 02/13/2019

Owner/Manager Response

Thanks for the kind and thoughtful review. We finally get to visit our condo in April and will take a good look at the screen door and the lanai tiles. Everyone should definitely be able to enjoy the luxury of going barefoot throughout the condo.

Keauhou Raquet and Surf unit 1-203

Aloha, We recently stayed at the Keauhou Surf and Raquet on the Big island in condo 1-203 for 2.5 weeks in November. This was our second stay in this condo and once again enjoyed the place very much. The lanai is large and the view is beautiful. We spent many days just staying ‘in’and relaxing on the lanai. This unit is very spacious, the kitchen is well stocked, and the beds very comfortable. We have stayed in many condos on different Hawaiian islands over the years and this unit has proven to be the most comfortable and homey. Thor, the owner is very accommodating and returns your calls and e-mails promptly. A nice addition to the unit is a brand new washer and dryer. Groundskeepers at this resort are also very friendly and approachable. There is plenty to see in the nearby villages up the mountain from the resort and there is a pebbly beach right next to the resort where we frequently went to check out the reef fish and explore on the rocks. We look forward to another visit!! less

It's All About the View!

First, the location is absolutely fabulous. Sunsets, sunsets, sunsets. True to form, you can sit on the lanai (or in the living room I suppose) and watch the sunset. The view is untouchable. The condo itself is close to Kona, but not in the hustle and bustle of Kona. Lots of stuff to do within a 20 minute drive. The condo itself is nice. Every closet was a treasure hunt of stuff, even our second to last day. Well equiped kitchen. The interior is showing its age, but it was not a problem, just a note, like the dings in my rental car. Bottom line, if you want a well equiped condo, with incredible sunset views, then you will want to book this unit again and again. less

Vacation/Wedding

This is the second time we have rented this condo. We attended a family wedding and this condo was cleaner (and much cheaper per night) than the house that was rented up the hill in terms of cleanliness. The best thing about this condo was being on the ocean and being able to wake-up to the gorgeous view and sounds! Nothing beats seeing dolphins while drinking our morning coffee. less

— Gary/Cathy, Stayed 09/26/2018

Wonderful Place to Stay

I lived in Kona for 3 years so it was fun to come back after several years and be right on the ocean and see a Kona sunset every night and watch dolphins play every morning over breakfast on our lanai. The facilities were wonderful - clean, very nice and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. If we have a chance to return This will be my first choice to look up for our stay. less

— Kenneth, Stayed 09/17/2018

Totally Awesome!

I have stayed in many many VRBO"s -Homeaway"s and vacation rentals. This unit and property manager & owner are one of the BEST! Right on the ocean - clean- supplied with EVERYTHING you could need! Manager and Owner quick responses! Worked with us when we had a late flight out. Not having air condition is NO problem - the ocean breeze and ceiling fans took care of that. It was like a small community and everyone so friendly. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. We are definitely staying right in this condo the next time we are in Kona! less

— Cheryl, Stayed 04/26/2018

Home away from home

Our condo was the perfect home away from home. The stunning view and comfortable accommodations made it a dream. The kitchen was well equipped with excellent pots, pans, knives, and whatever else you could possibly need. The little touches such as pool and beach gear, extra sunscreen, condiments, toiletries, books, and games were such a treasure to discover. We were in want for nothing during our stay. Our biggest challenge was getting used to the sound of the waves as we slept (oh what a hardship!). It was not brand-new and shiny, but it was well-taken care of and welcoming. The washer and dryer were a huge plus as well. I highly recommend you stay here. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us. less

Needs some TLC

Great location, great resort. We’ve stayed at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club a couple of times now, and have already booked again for next year. Unit 1-203 was very clean, beds were very comfortable, and the place was quite well equipped, but the unit desperately need some TLC. Paint peeling in various places, and anything that could rust, was rusty, from window frames to inside of kettle and dishwasher, to closet door frames and soap caddy in the shower. We’re looking forward to returning to the resort in 2018, but we would avoid this particular unit until it is properly refurbished. less

— James, Stayed 12/14/2017

Owner/Manager Response

Thank you for alerting us to some of the needs of the unit. The rust, in particular, is a constant issue with the sea air. We have gone shopping and replaced all the small items in need of attention. We will be sure to address fixtures like window frames in the near future. Our apologies that some of these issues detracted from your stay.

Wonderful ocean front stay

We absolutely loved our stay in Keauhou! The view from the livingroom and bedroom were stunning. Hearing the ocean lulling us to sleep every night was so calming and peaceful. The condo is well furnished and had everything we needed, including all kinds of beach toys. Thor was incredible with his communication and was super helpful! We would gladly stay again and would highly recommend to couples, families or friends. less

— Katie, Stayed 08/16/2017

Amazing views, beautiful condo

We just returned from a week in condo 1203. We loved the condo and would rent it again. The condo was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The view is amazing and the location was ideal for us. The condo is south of the noise and activity of downtown Kona, but a close drive for sightseeing and shopping. It's also close to snorkeling, coffee farms, and a farmers market. The local manager was available to answer questions. We would highly recommend this condo. less

— Melinda, Stayed 08/06/2017

fantastic condo

This condo is great and we would totally stay here again. It is clean, well equipped, and the location couldn't be better. The view from the lanai is amazing and you can enjoy cross-breezes by opening the doors and the windows. We really appreciated having a washer-dryer, too. The complex is well maintained with a beautiful pool, and there is a grocery store, shops and restaurants nearby (3 min drive). less

— Lani , Stayed 07/02/2017

Beautiful Setting, Great Condo

This condo couldn't have had a nicer setting. You can listen to the waves all night long, and never tire of the sound. One day we saw dolphins swim past. It is very conveniently located near the barbecues and not far from the pool area or the beach. We really loved our stay here. Nicely decorated inside, with just about everything you needed in the kitchen. (BBQ tools would have been nice, but not a big deal at all.) Thank you for a great stay. less

— Ellie , Stayed 05/31/2017

Best spot!

We loved this condo. It's near the pool and BBQ area, great location in the condo units. The views are amazing, and the kitchen was greatly equipped. The lanai is large and comfy and fit our family of 4 perfectly. There were even spices and some condiments that previous folks had left. And the beach right next door was a great beach to hang out at, had trees, water, and no people! We snorkeled there and saw all the usual .... pretty fish, turtles, etc. Across the road is a shopping center that has all you need, too. It is a very convenient location and I loved that it was just a short drive to Kona, and not right in congested Kona. I would go back to this condo again and again! Just a note: the road work to increase lanes from Kona to the airport really puts a damper on the traffic. If you're going north in the am, be sure to give yourself AN EXTRA HOUR! We almost missed our helicopter ride because of the traffic tie up. It's worse on weekdays, during the usual rush hour times. Stop and go. But, other than the traffic, the Big Island was perfect. Don't miss the volcanoes! less

— Marsha, Stayed 05/15/2017

Great stay

We have stayed in this condo multiple times and are never disappointed. Thor is always very considerate and adds greatly to our vacation time in Hawaii. Thank you!

— Vonya, Stayed 05/04/2017

Great place to stay right on the ocean!

This was our second stay in this complex. The first time we booked a unit in with a courtyard view and this time we choose an ocean view. We totally are sold on the ocean view. This unit, in particular, is well maintained and the onsite caretaker is quite responsive. The unit is quite well equiped and the beds are comfortable. We would recommend this unit to anyone considering staying here. less

Unit 201 bldg 1

The condo was clean and comfortable in spite of the high temps and humidity and lack of air con. The trade winds kept us very comfortable day and night. The beds were very sleepable, kitchen was well equipped and the unit was well stocked with useful things. The grounds were very well kept and we found the environment to be peaceful and quiet day and night with the exception of some construction going on in the unit we had common walls with- Our condo owner was most generous in adjusting our rent to compensate for that situation. I would highly recommend the Keauhou Kona S & R Club to anyone interested in renting- The whole complex was a perfect fit for us and our other family members who rented units in the complex. This isn't our first time in Kona, but this was our best condo complex so far. I would give it a 4 + star rating. less

Great Place

Great Place. I've stayed there before and it's always wonderful. I only wish it was still open for President's week this next year (2017).

— Jodi, Stayed 07/05/2016

Awesome stay - Great Place - Best deal there

We booked a stay at this resort location thur RCI & Wyndam timeshare. We ended up in building 9, in the back lot. So, I Googled Kona surf resort rentals and found we were able to book online, a last minute rental for 9 days (THANK YOU -). We had to pay out of pocket, but were able to get in. (And I would do it again). It was an Ocean front pleasure! This unit is in Building 1 second level, 30'-40' feet from the ocean breaking on the volcanic shore line. Unit is a 2-Bdrm bright and air. This unit is a very nice, and clean, appeared in newer condition. Looking form kitchen it felt like you were on a cruise ship, but in a lot Bigger room. No AC but multiple fan and good air flow. Lots of extra in the closet, books and game on the shelfs, it feel like a rental home. FYI - I did connect a cat-5 cable from DVD unit to modem and was able to log-on to Hulu for evening entertainment when needed. Recommondation - Don't stay their (so it will be available for us next time) less

— John B, Stayed 06/16/2016

Great Week

Great location, a stone's throw from the ocean, and 10-15 min walk to the beach or shopping. Unit Manager was very responsive to any inquiries we had while at the unit and the condo is stocked with everything you need for the week (coffee maker, kitchen/laundry supplies etc), as well as some nice bonuses like coolers, board games & beach gear. The patio is huge and the space inside was plenty for our family of 4. There is a great breeze off the ocean at all times, and lots of fans so you won't miss not having air conditioning (and I usually always have the AC cranked). The only downside is the unit is showing it's age a bit, mainly in the bathrooms. That said, at the very decent price it is offered at, it is a great value. less

Condo 1-203

This condo was great! The view is awesome, the furnishings are nice, and the kitchen is well equipped. We stayed with our 3 kids and it was great to have the badminton courts so close and the lawn area for them to play on. They spent plenty of time in the pool too. less

— Sarah, Stayed 04/04/2016

December vist to Condo 1-203

We loved our stay in Kona. Right on the ocean with huge waves splashing for a couple days. The condo was lovely and Ken took good care of us and brought over a new blender. We did notice the refrigerator ran almost constantly. It worked just fine and made ice cubes but did not "rest" at all. Thank you for all the beach chairs, towels and extras left for us to use. We did enjoy and will definitely be back. The Kona Christmas night parade was enjoyable too. less

— Joyce, Jen and Jess Selan, Stayed 12/19/2015

best location possible

Spent one month and so much enjoyed the ocean front view. The unit was comfortable and spacious. Plenty of dishes and cookware, a nice variety of spices too. Used the beach chairs and beach towels. Boogieboards, snorkel gear and beach mats are provided. Pool is very nice but rules are not unforced regarding loud music and flotation devices. Landscaping is beautiful, barbeques work well. The reservation and check in system was a breeze. less

Mr

This is about my 4th or 5th stay. Great location. Very tidy grounds. Nice accommodations. The CD player, the shower handle, and a few light switches did not work which I have already passed on to Thor. I expect that I may return. I am curious as to something that is none of my business. Why was the beautiful granite countertop replaced? It made the kitchen and condo have a very elegant feel. Just curious. I assume it got damaged somehow. less

— Tom, Stayed 07/21/2015

Owner/Manager Response

I am sorry that there were a few items that needed attention. We will see to those.   As for the loss of the granite, we were also unhappy to see it go. In the early fall of 2014, the unit above ours had a massive flood and the ceiling collapsed into the kitchen, ruining the floors, walls and cabinets. Unfortunately, it was impossible to save the counters during the remodeling. Replacing them with something similar would have added months to the remodel so we opted for concrete countertops. We did get new drywall, paint, cabinets and floors however!   Aloha, Thor Tyson, Owner

Great accomodation

We stayed in the appartment 5 days with my husband (honeymoon). The appartment is big, fully equipped, with large windows, great terrace, nice furniture. The location is good, great view of the ocean. We enjoyed the stay very much. The only reason why I didn't give the best rate are the bathrooms, which are not bad, but not in perfect condition. However in general I can recommend this appartment! less

— LudmilaN1, Stayed 09/08/2014

Nice view, comfortable interior and many goods

The view from a lanai was what I expected. Interior was more sophisticated than I expected. Finishing of a floor is sand stone or sand stone-like tile. Dining set has glass top. TV is LCD TV. Amenity goods were more helpful than I exptected. There were spices in the kitchen , dressings in a refrigerator, shaving foam in the shelf behind a mirror, and many towels. less

— EMochizuki, Stayed 08/02/2014

Amazing View

This property was clean, well appointed and had everything you could want for a great vacation. Would definitely stay here again.

— Rob19522014, Stayed 06/29/2014

Lovely

Great location not far from town. Could not ask for a better condo. Your place had everything we needed. Like a home of our own on the island. Hope we can do it again someday.

— Joetoe, Stayed 06/13/2014

Wonderful, relaxing, most enjoyable!

What a wonderful home away from home we found at condo 1-203. From the moment we entered the beautifully manicured gardens of the complex, to the relaxing moments by the pool and the soothing sounds of the blue Pacific ocean waves splashing on the shore, to the comforts and roominess of our condo we were continually impressed by the amenities of this facility. The location of this complex was perfect for us...only 15 minutes to downtown Kailua/Kona, 30 minutes to the airport and short walks to the adjacent ocean side trail and amazing snorkeling beach just an easy 10 minute stroll away. Quiet and peaceful...just like the spectacular sunsets we enjoyed from our lanai every night. Our two bedroom condo was spacious, bright, well equipped with large kitchen complete with plenty of dishes, pots, pans and frying pans; dining area, living room and master bedroom with wide patio doors that allow the sounds of the ocean and smells of the flowers to drift you off to sleep. Having a washer/dryer contained in one of the two bathrooms was a bonus, although we only used it once during our 12 day stay. Everything was as good as or better than it looked on the website. This unit in particular and the complex in general exceeded our expectations. We would most definitely enjoy another vacation at this location and would happily recommend it to anyone. less

Amazing Vacation - Perfect Location!

We stayed in 1-203 for a week in beautiful Kailua-Kona. The location is ideal - directly on the ocean with an awesome view for whale watching and nightly sunsets as well as within walking distance to a grocery store and few restaurants at the Keauhou Shopping Center. It's also in reasonable driving distance to the bulk of Kona's shopping/dining district (about 10 minute drive north). I also recommend Kona Joe Coffee for an epic view and the best coffee on the island, about 15 minutes south. I don't mind the drive to anywhere on the Big Island though, it's beautiful every single direction. As far as the condo amenities - we appreciated having plenty of linens, beach chairs and umbrella. There were also boogie boards, etc. There was also plenty of room for 4 adults - as the condo was definitely large enough. We also enjoyed the decor and huge kitchen. The only complaint that I have is some minor cosmetic work that the condo could use (mold on the second bathroom shower curtain, wear and tear on the master bedroom screen divider, etc.) - but that might be just the case for being so close to the ocean. The salty air/humidity wears on everything. Some other notes - the cross breeze through the lanai screen was ideal and it kept the condo cool all day long. No a/C necessary. Speaking of the lanai - it is huge and we spent a lot of time out there - some in my party even slept there a few nights. We didn't use the tennis courts but I did try the pool one day (why go to the pool when a perfect beach is a half hour drive - north past the airport - called Kua Bay), and it was very nice. So if you don't care for beaches or you prefer not to drive, it is a nicely sized pool. All-in-all, I always love visiting the Big Island (my home away from home) and loved our stay at 1-203! I would definitely stay again on a future visit! less

Excellent! Beachfront! Updated, Fully Equiped, Quiet, 2Br Condo.

Watch whales from large balcony. Super comfortable King bed, with 2 singles in 2nd bedroom. Quiet location within resort. Walking distance to Kahalu'u beach for fantastic snorkeling. Easy access to BBQ pavilion and tennis courts. Easy morning run/walks from parking lot along waterfront edge of adjacent golf course. Will be back. Reasonably priced. less

Lovely view

The condo was pleasant, clean and provided a pleasant place to escape the winter. It is close to a small snorkeling bay (we walked) and to the small shopping mall with restaurants and grocery store. There is no air conditioning and there was no need for one however we wondered if in the summers it might be warm at night. The condo furnishing were nice. Overall if we were to return to Kona, we would stay here. The condo complex has tennis courts, pools and barbque areas. less

— Mary, Stayed 02/22/2014

Excellent place to stay

We have stayed at the KKS&R; Club three times and this is the best condo unit yet. Second floor (so your view is not obstructed by lava boulders or landscaping) and ocean front (so you can watch the sunset or look for whales from the lanai). It is well furnished and decorated and has lots of beach equipment in the closet. The unit has a modern flat screen TV and wi-fi. I could connect my laptop via Hdmi cable to the TV and watch Netflix or listen to Pandora. When we needed local maintenance assistance Ken was responsive and very friendly. The KKS&R; Club is a well maintained complex - - the pool is clean and inviting and the tennis courts are in excellent shape. A community BBQ is very near the unit. The complex is a 12 minute walk to a good snorkeling beach. All in all, a good place to stay. less

Waking up to waves and many things to do

We are a family of 5 and stayed at the condo for 5 days. We were pleasantly surprised by the extras in the room including snorkeling gear, tennis racquets, games, etc. I loved waking up to the sight and sound of the waves breaking on the nearby rocks. The balcony was large and we frequently spend time at the table outside. The location was great and allowed us to explore the island. At the nearby snorkeling spot (5 mins) we saw many turtles. Great spot. Room was two bed with a fold out lounge. Would stay again less

Died and Went to Heaven

We have stayed here 6 times. Always wonderful. The sound of the surf as you sleep is astounding. The accomodations are all one could desire. The kitchen is fully supplied. The washer and dryer means you don't need 50 lbs. of outfits. Take two and wash the dirty one. Since you are a main lander, no one knows you are wearing that outfit a second time. less

Heavenly

My sister and I stayed in this condo. It was clean and had a perfect ocean view from the lanai where you could hear the surf. Although there was no ac, the fans kept it very cool. It was very well equipped with coffeemaker and microwave and pots, pans, dishes , dishwasher, utensils and plenty of soap etc. It was difficult to read the digital display of the oven temperature and the directions for key code entry were not specific enough on arrival so we had to call for help from a neighbor. The phone number for the contact person had changed and was listed inside the condo so we could not call anyone until we gained access. The activity and eating places need to be updated in the binder all in all it was very pleasant stay and I would definitely rent here again. less

Beautiful ocean views

We have stayed at this condo three times now. It is well equipped, with everything you need in the kitchen to feel right at home. The condo is peaceful and it is great to sleep so close to the sound of the ocean. The unit itself is clean, though there are a couple areas that could use a bit of maintenance (baseboards) but this is just cosmetic. It's easy to feel like this is a home away from home. less

It's all about the location and view...

Great location and floorplan with an ocean view for a reasonable value that's hard to beat. Have stayed at this comfortable condo on several occasions in the past few years and would then have rated it at 5 stars for the overall package and value. Overall maintenance condition of the unit is on the decline to the extent that it diminishes the overall experience. After a little refurbishment work to ensure that everything is again functional this unit can easily get its 5 stars back... less

Loved this condo!!

My husband and I stayed in condo 1-203 last week. We absolutley loved this place. I liked the location of the condo in relation to everything. It wasn't right in the middle of it, but was a short drive to it all. The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed and provided things that we hadn't thought of. We used the washer and dryer a couple times, so it was nice that there was detergent provided. Thanks for a lovely stay! A welcome place to land every day after exploring the island :) Some of the extras that came in handy was the cooler which we used pretty much daily. The beach towels were nice too because they can be bulky in a suitcase. I liked the binoculars (never even thought about those) which I used every morning on the lookout for dolphins. We also used the beach chairs, snorkel masks and boogie boards. The condo was clean and comfortable. Pleanty of room for the three of us. We wanted for nothing. I like the idea of the sign in book. I liked reading what previous guests enjoyed about their stay. My favorite part of it all was our bedroom was right off the lanai. Every night we slept like babies with that ocean right outside the door. less

Absolutly Beautiful, Stunning and fully equiped

This condo is absolutly gourgous. The location is perfect for the sunset in the afternoon. I couldnt think of anything the condo didnt have. Everything we needed was supplied. Yes the washer and dryer was a little rusty however considering it is right on the edge of the sea and the salt water it was more than acceptable. I loved this location, Thor was more than helpful and the neighbours were also a pleasure. Every person that arrived to the condos were screaming on arrival on how beautiful the loaction is. The veranda was large and a great dining spot, why go out for dinner when you have the best view right out front of your door. The unit would have everything you need and more, it even has spices and salt pepper etc. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans plates and utencils to serve at least 10 people. The rooms were very spacious and open, it could do with air conditioning however the fans in every room were lovely and it wasnt uncomfortable. My husband and I loved and enjoyed every minute. The value for money was outstanding. The professional photos that are on most websites are exactly what the units are like. less

Great location

This condo is conveniently located near shopping center, snorkel beach and highway. We have stayed in this complex several times but this unit met our needs the best. A Pleasant, Quiet, Comfortable Place to Be

One never knows quite what to expect away from "home". This condo met everything within our comfort zone. It was clean and well kept. We appreciated the open floor plan yet private bedrooms/bathrooms for each couple. Our bed was more than comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of room for everyone to fix for themselves. It was well equipped yet not cluttered with lots of counter space. The windows brought in natural light with the outdoors. We were amazed by our view. The ocean was out our door. We watched whales, waves, and kayaks, every morning and sunsets in the evening from our patio. We were so busy having fun we forgot to call the number for us to use to ask for more water filters for the water pitcher. Even a cooler was provided for our outings. Though snorkeling gear was provided we recommend being personally fitted so that your experience is successful. The locals told us the end of May to October are best for snorkeling beaches when the water is calmer. We were amazed by the power and beauty of large waves crashing against the rocks. Those who stay in the bedroom nearest the shore may want to consider bringing a pair of trusted ear plugs at least for the first night or two. The location was handy for shopping and eating. Even beaches were nearby. Walking is doable but a ways for those not wanting to walk or take the time since the distance is not immediate. We appreciated the privacy out of the hustle and bustle of tourists and town. less

Truly oceanfront tranquility!

This was our seconde time at the complex and first time with this unit. It is a fabulous place to stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and granite counters a dream. The position of the condo makes you feel like you're floating over the ocean and it was wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves. Centrally located, and quiet, we will definately be back. Peace, tranquility and a home away from home.

My husband and our two children recently stayed at this condo and it was wonderful. The condo is very well appointed with everything you could need for a day at the beach as well as what you need to cook a full meal. The view is spectacular and was definitely my favorite part of this condo. We slept with the lanai doors open and were lulled by the rythmic sound of crashing waves. Everything was clean and well cared for. I will definitely be staying again. less

Great Location

This condo has a fantastic location just above the surf with a large lanai. We ate all our meals out there. We were worried about the lack of a\c, but the condo cooled off very quickly with the sliding glass doors open. The condo also included boogie boards, beach chairs, a couple of ice chests and other recreational items. Nothing about the condo looks fancy, except maybe the granite counters in the kitchen, but everything was clean and in good working order. The bed was not very comfortable, nor was the furniture, but it was adequate less

Great place to enjoy the Kona Coast

This unit has a superb location, the view of the sunsets over the ocean is terrific and the sound of the waves rolling against the rocky shore line makes a great background noise when going to sleep. The unit is very well equipped, even beach and snorkel gear is provided, the kitchen will suit even serious cooks. Well maintained. One issue was that the screen door system needed replacement. We have been advised by the owner that this was replaced the day after we left. Would love to stay here again. less

Right on then ocean...

If you want to be by the ocean, you can't get any closer than this second story condo with great views. We spent a lot of time on the large lanai watching the surf break right below us. It is a great spot to watch sunsets. At night we slept with the door open so the ocean could waves could lull us to sleep. There is no beach right there, but they are beautiful ones close by. The condo's kitchen is well appointed and stocked. This pace is perfect for couples or a family with two small children. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is pretty big and there are nice tennis courts if you want to play. less

We had a fabulous vacation and your condo 1203 was a major reaso

From each of our first steps into the condo, we were overwhelmed with the condo and most certainly, the view! We used the lanai bedroom and it was so good to just walk out every morning. Whether having a cup of coffee or lunch/dinner, my favorite was enjoying an evening glass of wine with the waves playing against the lava rocks. The condo was superbly stocked with soaps, cleaning supplies, etc. The beach, snorkel, and sports equipment was truly used. Having the cleaning crew in after the first week was perfect and the girls were very nice and busy, busy, busy. One day it was quite blustery and the roll down screens were the perfect block. We all agreed with a number of 'repairs' that should be made: The screen doors should be replaced - tough to work or lock; The master bath could use a complete rehab. Of course the rehab would be pricey but very needed. I am specifically referring to the shower, floor, and baseboards. While you're in there the washer and dryer could be replaced. The kitchen floor could be replaced. The furniture throughout the condo fit right in the Hawaiian theme - very good. All of the appliances worked just fine. We liked the location - out of downtown but 10-15 minutes when we ventured there. I walk but my husband, daughter, and friend did lots of running and the gentle hills and the bike lane was perfect for them. We had a very good vacation and I am so glad we found your condo. Mahalo. "Beautiful & Loaded" Condo

Unit 1-203 is beautifully decorated in island style, and the most well-equipped vacation rental I've stayed in. No need for the Swiss army knife here! exquisite seaside view

This is a lovely unit, with the entire rear of the condo (both the master bedroom and living room) overlooking the sea. The location of the complex is quite convenient, with shopping, including a big KTa grocery store, just a minute up the road (turn right out the complex and find the shopping center soon on the left). Very peaceful. Lovely green birds hang out around the grounds, which are themselves an archeological site. Highly recommended. less

What a place to spend your vacation!

Thor, you have quite the place here! As a guest we wanted for nothing, as you had thought of everything in advance. The condo was spotless upon our arrival, and your directions/insturctions were easy to follow. The Lani was great. We had every breakfast there, and watched almost all the sunsets from it as well. We enjoyed just spending days at the beaches (the condo had a supply of umbrellas, beach chairs snorkel gear, coolers and ice packs), or visiting some of the sights the Island has to offer. The spinner dolphins swimming past every morning, and then back every afternoon was great. Some of the sight we enjoyed were the Volcano's National Park, and the Greenwell Coffee Plantation, The Place of Refuge, and the Painted Church. Your binder of suggestions was certainly a great help, as we didn't really know what there was close by. We are already thinking our return visit next year! Thanks again for your hospitality, less

A Terrific Spot to Relax

We loved our condo. It was beautifully maintained and outfitted with every possible thing. Even more important, the condo had fabulous views. Nothing can compare to sitting on the balcony or sleeping in the bed with the waves crashing on the nearby shoreline. The skyline as absolutely quiet--no planes or loud noises whatsoever. The condo did not have air-conditioning but it had fans everywhere. During our visit, we did not need the ac at all and we like things cool I would recommend using a condo rather than a townhouse. The views were better and the condos are better maintained. less

relaxing

This was a beautiful condo. Everything one could want has been provided with extras to boot. Ocean view and the sound of the surf was fabulous. Overhead fans provided adequate cooling. Only one fault: the floor really needed a good scrubbing; it was clean in the middle but very dirty around the edges and outside the traffic zones. I have sent Thor a postcard regarding that issue. I have tile floors and use a Hoover Floor Mate Hard Floor cleaner. It has rotary brushes to clean and also vacuums dry. Works like a charm. I recommend getting one of those at Costco for this place! Other than the floor, the condo was very clean and well furnished. We liked it so much we'll be back for sure - maybe in October. less

Great spot on the Waterfront

The condo was wonderful, it looks great in the website photos and better in person. Everything you need for cooking or going to the beach was readily available and the unit is well maintained. Snorkeling is close by and we saw whales from the lanai everyday. The shopping center/grocery is just down the street and many good restaurants nearby. Fantastic stay

We did the "Big island circle" arriving in to Kona, drove to Waimea and spend first night in Hilo, then to the condo in Keauhou, we arrived at night and felt welcomed. There was already some windows open and a small light, and the ocean breeze was very relaxing. We had breakfast and dinner watching the ocean and wonderful sunsets almost every day. During the day we opted to go either south for snorkeling 9vaptian Cook area nt to miss !!) or coffee @ the Kona Plantations or historical places (don't miss the place of refuge or the painted church) (about 30 min away);or We stayed around (magic sands for sun bathing and boogie boarding; or the beach park next to the outrigger (about 10 min or less walk) for snorkeling. Or we drove an hour north to the white sand beaches of Mauna Kea and Hapuna (the kids favorites). We had a great time, saw dolphins turtles and a glimpse of a whale. It is a short drive to kailuea-kona town too. The place was clean and well decorated with all the basics that helped us enjoy our stay. Awesome Oceanfront Get-Away!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying at this condo very much! The pictures give an accurate account of the condo and we appreciated that it wasn't too flowery or cheezy in its decor. The unit was clean when we arrived and the cleaners came once as well while we were there. We spent a number of our evenings having dinner on the lanai and listening to the waves crash on the lave rocks below. We both really enjoyed falling asleep at night to the sound of the waves. We didn't use the second bedroom at all but it was well laid out with two twin beds so it would be perfect for a family of four or a couple and two friends or three friends traveling together - you'd have to flip for the big bed ;) The lanai was the highlight of our stay. It is very roomy with a table for four to have dinner as well as two lounge chairs for sitting and enjoying the view. They also have a very handy drying rack on the lanai for swimsuits and towels etc. The condo itself is very well located and there is a small mall just up with the road with a grocery store, coffee shop, movie theatres and a few restaurants. You can also walk about 15 minutes north along alii Drive to the snorkelling beach. Easy access to Highway 11 and far enough from alii drive to miss all the sounds of the traffic making it a very peaceful place to spend your holiday. The Bbq's are also located right across from the unit so it's very convenient to cook out and carry the food back up to the lanai. I am very grateful to Thor and his wife for providing us such a wonderful place to spend our vacation. You have put a lot of care and attention into your condo and it shows. Mahalo!! less

Can't beat the view in this well-appointed condo

As soon as we threw the doors open to this place, the view took our breath away. The pictures don't do it justice. You wake up in the morning and look out to the water and watch dolphins doing backflips. Pretty phenomenal. On the good side, I would sa: 1. View. Already mentioned that. Had to mention it again. 2. Close to town and beaches (less than 20 minutes from most things) 3. Amenities were awesome: from the grills available (which we used to make steaks) to the stuff in the kitchen to all of the beach gear...this place had everything. Even a cooler which became a lifesaver for taking out to the beach. 4. Granite kitchen countertops, modern furniture... The only two things I would fix are: 1. There was one day where air conditioning would've been really nice. It's not that it gets too hot (as there is a nice breeze that comes off the ocean). It's just humid and a/C's good at removing humidity. 2. The floors weren't particularly clean. As requested, we took off our shoes to walk around, but it made our feet as dirty as if we had been walking outside barefoot. I've been to the Big Island twice now, so when I come back to Hawaii, I'll likely stay at another island, but when I do make it back to the Big Island, I'm definitely going to look this place up! less

Great location at the south end of alii Drive. We were quite impressed with the value of this condo--great price for everything that it had. Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Condo 1-203

Great place considering location (Tropical Island), secure, roomy, clean, well equipped kitchen. Smooth check in and check out. Trouble / bother free! This was the first time we've done ocean front though. Good view from lanai, but was very hard to sleep at night if you are in the living room next to lanai due to the sound of crashing waves. With that said, if you are sensitive to noise I would think twice. There is some room for improvement too. Nothing major, yet some worn out furniture out on the lanai (arm chairs) and rusted telescopic pole of a soap/shampoo holder in the shaver next to the living room. Toilets you can live with, but I would replace them with newer more water efficient / water sense type. Go green! Overall we were all pleased. Thank you very much! less

Feels like home in paradise

My wife & I have stayed in other condos in Hawaii, but none made us feel like home as much as this unit did. It seems like it was built to be a home – not a rental unit - and the owners of this unit have made sure that a lot of little things (e.g. laundry soap, kitchen spices) are in place to make your stay more comfortable. As far as the unit itself, it is very spacious, wonderfully decorated, and well maintained. It is right on the ocean with a huge wall of glass across the whole back facing the ocean. Behind the wall of glass is a very large lanai (porch). Half of that back wall is the master bedroom (which can be opened to the adjoining living room), so you can fall asleep listening to the surf pound the lava shoreline just outside. Very relaxing. And the spacious grounds were beautifully maintained with tennis courts, a pool, and barbecue facilities. Definitely made our week on this island wonderful. A side note to help folks considering other units in this complex. There are two different sets of buildings here – those numbered up to 199 and those numbered from 1-101 to 9-306. The first group is a different style from this unit, so our comments above would not necessarily apply. Our unit was in the second type of unit type of unit. For these units, the first digit is the building number (only buildings 1 through 4 are ocean-front); the second digit is the floor (second and third floors afford slightly better views), and the last 2 digits are the unit number. less

unit doesn't live up to location

Great location, nice floor plan with main bed next to lanai,BUT floor was dirty in places, the glassware was dulled by hard water, the kitchen cabinets need replacing, the main bath was outdated, stained, cramped, the bed was uncomfortably hard(we bought egg-crate pads) and the towel rack out on the lanai was filthy. Also, the TV was not in a good location for viewing. Most of these things could be easily dealt with I might add that the pool was nice in that it is bigger than average and allows for lap swimming. The BBQ area was convenient and equipment worked fine. We would consider staying here again if above issues addressed. D.K. Macduff less

FANTASTIC VIEW !! Condo has great layout and was quite comfortable. Upon arrival, we were quite disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the unit. Given we are asked to pay a cleaning fee up front, I expected to arrive to a shiny clean condo. Not the case - we had to do a bit of cleaning ourselves before we put our stuff away for our stay. Other than that, the condo could use a facelift. It's a great location and assumed to be well used. A fresh paint job along with the replacement of some rusty items would make a huge difference! Overall, we enjoyed our stay there. less

Great Condo

Everything was as described in the ad, right on the ocean. It is a ways from Kona but we found that was fine as there really isn't much to do in Kona anyway, just a lot of souvenir shops. There is a mall close by for any groceries or other things you may need. We didn't find the lack of A/C an issue as the breeze at night cooled things off. Very nice condo, the only thing we didn't like was the laminate flooring in the bathrooms seemed dingy. Not sure why they wouldn't have just extended the tile into the bathrooms, but that was a minor issue. less

This was the best condo we've ever stayed in. We've been vacationing in Kona off and on for 30yrs. All communication, directions and discriptions were exact. I really appreciate the lawn chairs, mats, towels all the equipment and coolers. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms well supplied and there were enough spices in the kitchen to cook in, if you wanted to. We did grill, once right, across the parking lot. The view could not be beaten, fantastic! Gem in Paradise

What an incrediable vacation. The condo was SO beautiful, we hardly felt the need to leave it and explore the island. To have the sound of the ocean put you to sleep at night, and the breathtaking views in the morning was more than we had hoped for. We were very thankful to be on the second floor too, as it both allowed for an unabstructed view of the ocean, and also the piece of mind that the waves would stay where they belong! The condo was set with every appliance, spice, and toy we needed. The pool was warm and clean, the grounds were beautiful, and we were only minutes away from great boogy-boarding and turtle-filled snorkeling beaches. Thank you for an amazing family experience!!! A very relaxing place to stay

This condo met and exceeded our expectations. It's bigger than it looks from the pictures online. Everything you could wish for is in the kitchen (except I couldn't find a kettle to make tea with...so I used the microwave). Waking up to natural light, going to bed with the sound of the ocean so close- it was all great. The condo is clean, and very well equipped. No air conditioning, so it might be hot in the summer(?) but we found the breeze and the ceiling fans kept us very comfortable at night. The property is well maintained, and directions for check in and check out were very straightforward. We thought the value for our cost was very good, especially as we were not in the high season. There is a shopping center very close by, so it is easy to get what you need without a long journey, but at the same time, the location is far enough out of town to make you feel like you are not in tourist central. It's a great location to have as a home base, as it's very central for touring the island (lots of driving wherever you stay on Hawaii to see everything). Most mornings there were dolphins just offshore, and there is a nice snorkel spot very close by to see lots of fish and turtles. The only uncomfortable moment was meeting an extraordinarily large cockroach on the patio- but that's a tropical environment for you! The hardest part of our stay was coming home. If we go back to Hawaii, we'll certainly try to stay here again. less

The condo management was excellent in giving assistance and move-in instructions. Only thing we can think of that could have been better is my wife would have liked a "softer" king size bed. less

Beautiful Condo to match the Beautiful Location

Our family of four arrived after a 24 hour transit to the comfort of the condo. If is so well decked out with everything that you instantly feel relaxed and at home in your surrounds. The location right on the beach is great and close enough to all you might need/want to do. The local trolley is fun and quick if you want to leave the car for the day. Hawaii is an unreal island offering so many different things to do, the snorkelling at the beach next door is good and the dolphins that cruise pass the lani each day is a bonus. We loved everything about our stay at Condo 1-203, we only hated leaving. But we will return one day. Too nice a spot not to. less

Outstanding Location

If you love to hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shore this place is for you. The condo has a nice sized kitchen as well as living area, plenty of room for a family, and very nice for just two people. The condo complex was very quiet during our stay and the ocean is just a "stones throw" from the unit. The condo is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and is very close to the BBQ area. The only thing that was some concern to us was the firmness of the bed in the master bedroom, but overall we loved the condo. less

Beautiful Hawaii Condo

We just got back from a great vacation in Hawaii. We stayed at Aloha condos' Kona Surf & Racquet Club, unit 1-203. It is a beautiful 2/2 unit with unmatched views and great amenities. The kitchen is large and very nice, utencils are plenty and the stackable washer and dryer is a larger size and works great. The CA King bed is very comfortable and the unit offers books, games, coolers, beach chairs, and snorkel gear for renters. Very nice! We were a bit unlucky that the weather was very hot and there was very little wind. This made the unit quite warm even at night with all fans on high speed. A few bugs found their way in, but nothing a quick spray would not take care of. Very nice unit, highly recommend. Great location. less

Great Kona Condo

We had a wonderful stay here. The condo is perfect. The location is just right. A short drive to town 5 minutes. Trolly is availabe also if you don't want to drive. The grocery store is about a 2 minute drive up the hill. Easy to walk too if not carrying too much back! The condo grounds are beautiful. Very clean and well cared for. The tennis courts are fine, and the pool has just had improvements made. Both are very nice. The grilling area is nice and clean. Several tables to sit at in the covered area. The ocean side is awesome. The surf crashes against the lava rock, and little coves along the shore. We have never seen such a beautiful sunset as from the patio. We spent a lot of time watching different kinds of boats passing by. The inisde of the condo is beautiful. Very bright and clean. Everything has been thought of. Even the light switches had labels! Very comfortable furniture inside and on the patio. All kinds of fun beach toys, books, movies, cds. You can't go wrong with a stay at Keauhou kona Surf and Racquet # 1-203. less

Great condo in a magical location

It was a very difficult choice to get a condo that satisfied all our requests of being close to the main attractions in the area of Kailua Kona, yet quiet and near the oceanfront with a view. The hotels charge just too much and after looking many condos this one looked the best one. All started with the owner allowing us to rent onlz for 4 nights when it should be 5 nights minimum and the instructions given afterwards were always clear and perfect. When we got there, everything exceeded our expectations: the spaciousness, the lanai, the ocean views, the sound of the waves crashing... it was a true Hawaiian dream!! And the town is only 10 minutes away, the most beautiful snorkeling spot is 15 minutes away, bot the more crowded yet amazing Keahou Bay was around the corner!! On top of all this the unit was extremely well maintained, kitchwn very modern and well equipped, quiet at night and had all the gear we needed for the beach was there... so it was such a better investment than going to a hotel or even a B&B... and it was clearly one of the best condos around!! Would definitely come back again here when we return for some more Big Island adventures!! Recommend it highly for couples or families (it had an extra bedroom we never used)!! Enjoy!! less

What we were hoping for, and more. The condo was a perfect comp

From the smooth communication with the owner in the very beginning of our honeymoon accomodation search, to the easy check out, at this great location (close to many amenities), our experience with this condominium was beyond our expectations. Great ocean front views from many rooms, a fully appointed kitchen and recreation closet complete with many beach use type accessories, an outside BBQ area steps away from the unit -- these were just a few of the many features we enjoyed on our 10 day stay. Additionally, Keauhou was a great launching off point to many sights on the Big Island, along with an excellent micro-climate as well! less

Beautiful location, a little stuffy!

The condo, itself, is absolutely gorgeous! It's spacious and has every amenity we could have hoped for in our "home away from home". The view is incredible, and watching the waves crash on the lava rocks was very mesmerizing. It's only 5 minutes from a grocery store, a drug store, and many restaurants to satisfy just about anyone's palate. The only thing that we were not prepared for was the humidity/heat! We are from S.E. Arizona, and an 80 degree day is very pleasant! In Kona, 80 degrees with 80% humidity and absolutely no breeze was nothing short of oppressive! On that note, while the condo has ceiling fans in every room, it could use 2 or 3 on the lanai, and a screen door on the front door like all the surrounding condos. Chances are, although the condo and amenities were outstanding, the lack of AC will prevent us from staying here again! Lastly, midway through our stay and until we left, remodeling started in the condo next door, and the carpet on the stairs was being replaced. We did not get the courtesy of being notified prior to or during our stay. We had driven to the East side of the island two days in a row, and had gotten back around midnight on both occasions, only to waken around 6:30 a.m. to sawing, hammering, etc. Prior knowledge of this may have had some bearing on whether or not we had chosen this condo to stay at. At the very least, a discounted rate would have been some consolation. less

Beautiful, comfortable condo right next to the ocean

Loved this condo. It was comfortable, clean and quiet. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep every night. Had plenty of the essentials, including beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and a blender. The huge lanai with comfy lounge chairs made it very easy to nap the afternoon away. During our second week, the weather turned a bit muggy, so air conditioning would have been nice, but we found an extra fan in the condo that helped a lot. The location is very convenient, right next to a shopping center, and a 5 minute walk from great snorkeling. Overall, highly recommended. Can't wait to visit again. less

Fantastic Ocean View

We were traveling with another couple and the condo was perfect with private areas for both couples. The unit was roomy and had all the amenities as advertised. The complex was quiet and peaceful and the ocean waves lulled us to sleep each night. I would recommend it for adults or families with older kids. The rocky beach was a bit of a hike and the pool was small and on the interior of the complex with no view, but our ocean view from the unit was fantastic! less

Great Home and Experience

We really enjoyed our experience on the island of Hawaii. The condo was everything we had hoped it would be and more. It was 2 bedrooms with an ocean view. It was right next to a golf course that we played and enjoyed. All communication with the owner went well and he was very upfront about exterior maintenance that was going to be happening during our stay. He even gave us a discount due to the minor disruption. Facilities were clean and very well kept. My wife and I will remember this as a great experience and if on the island of Hawaii again would stay there in a heartbeat. less

Fantastic Place to relax in Hawaii

The place was clean with modern amenities. The view was breath taking. I can't wait to go back again. I'll not stay anywhere else after being at other condos on the island that were very disappointing this one was more then we expected. Paul

Gorgeous Condo, Beautiful Views!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at your condo. It was gorgeous, comfortable and the sights and sounds of the ocean were absolutely fantastic. This was a perfect home away from home!

Could not have been any better!!!

This was the most comfortable, well-equipped, perfectly located, spacious vacation condo we've ever had the pleasure of renting. The owner was awesome, accomodating us at the last minute without a hitch. Loved the place the moment we walked in and saw the full ocean view straight out the lanai. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed and then some; the bed was great and the linens were super soft. There was a small library of excellent travel guides and a fairly large selection of cd's and dvd's. (The music was great - we didn't watch any of the movies) There is also plenty of travel/sports gear available to use. We rented for the two of us but I would HIGHLY recommend this place for larger parties as well. Some may have a problem with the master bedroom having only shoji screens for a wall between it at the living area; we thought it was fantastic and left them open at all times. If you are looking for a nice sandy beach, you will have to walk next door to one of the best snorkel spots on the island, no big deal! We loved the dramatic contrast of black lava, blue water and white foam as the waves crashed against the shore. It was gorgeous to look at a blissful to hear. Mahalo Nui Loa, Thor less

Nice Place

We stayed here in the winter. The day we arrived, the Islands had a huge storm. The unit downstairs was completed flooded. There were alot of workers, etc. there and the owners were very upset (understandably). We heard ALOT of their trauma from our unit. It made me feel fortunate that we had rented an upstairs unit, as I'm not sure what would have happened if we were anywhere downstairs. As for the unit itself, it was very clean, well equipped, and we loved the view. The ocean was so close and so loud that we actually closed the doors at times! We loved the birds and the black rock/ocean views from the condo. We liked the furnishings, an effort has been made by the owners to use authentic Island decor. The furnishings also included: a great tour book of the Island, picnic containers, and even some great Hawaiian music. The only drawbacks were: lanai a little dirty, but I'm not sure how one could keep on top of that in the winter. Also, screen in kitchen window had been compromised by some type of chewing animal. So be careful leaving any type of food out, as this is the islands.... We would love to go back and take our kids, as we found an excellent snorkeling bay within walking distance. It was unfortunately over run by tourists, but we timed our visit at the same time a cruise ship had a drop off. My only regret is that we can't go back any time soon. less
