This place had everything. First it was great to get there and have a fruit basket welcoming us. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked (TV, internet etc...) great. We felt like we were in the perfect location in Kona for our five days. Minutes from a great snorkel beach and right behind condo was a strip mall with everything you might need or want(grocery, pharmacy, cafes etc). The complex had a wonderful pool and hot tub. This condo really did have a great view of the ocean and sunset. It is on the water...no, but it is away from the noise and it is a newer complex and the new owners are doing everything they can do make this a wonderful place to come back to time and time again. We will! Lastly, we felt like the price was very fair for what we had.
Staying here was luxurious and relaxing!

This was a beautiful unit with stunning views located in
a clean, quiet complex close to many amenities. Easy walking distance to nice beaches, a well stocked store and restaurants. The unit had a nice layout with a spacious kitchen and living room. We did Bbq and use the rice cooker however a few more pots and better frying pans would be appreciated. The master suite was roomy and comfortable but needs blinds replaced on patio and bathroom windows !Loved the pool and hot tub. We definitely plan to return to this unit for future holidays!

We rented condo from brand new owners The previous owners had not kept it up but by the time we arrived some major changes where made including excellent, strong wifi connection, Kohler bathroom fixtures, area rugs, carpet cleaned like it was new. Nice bedspreads, linens and extra pillows. Other changes are in progress.I have read the reviews and felt the early comments unjust. The new owner is extremely responsive to your needs.
We have been to Hawaii for a total of 19 weeks over 4 yrs, in many condos for a week or so.
I would definitely return to this condo for these reasons:
It is in an area that is quiet at night.
There is an on island contact person.
The aC is quiet central air. If you rent the older subdivision units in any of the many resorts closer to the ocean you will get the old wall type aC which are noisy and can be musty.
The view from the upper lanai beats 99% of those in the area and other neighborhoods, esp for the price. I mean a full view , not peaking between trees. We spent the first hours of each morning entertained by the whales. The only better way to see whales is by boat, but every morning with coffee for free! Wow! Sunsets are unobstructed from both lanais.
The bedrooms are separated by long hallway which makes for excellent privacy.
The garbage has an opener so you can easily travel each day not worrying about losing a door key.
This unit is within walking distance to a shopping center with grocery, drugstore, several good restaurants, a few upscale shops, a post office. etc.
It is 5 min from Keauhou Harbor which is the fastest access to
Cook Monument/or Hounaunau snorkeling which are the two best places in the state. You can drive to Hounaunau in 35 min. Also close to the condo is a snorkel area at Kahalu'u Beach just 4 min up the road from the condo. It is ranked one of the better ones for snorkeling.
So the location was perfect.
This townhome was outstanding

This townhome is even better than the pictures on the website the views from the two Lanai's was incredible. The accomodations were excellent. The townhome offered many extra things that a hotel does not, privacy, luxury, and a garage, it was close to shopping, restaurants access to the highway but yet far enough away from the busy places to be private and quiet. We would highly recommend this property to stay at on vacation in paradise.

This is really a nice quiet place with a great view of the ocean. Two things I take issue with...the double bed instead of a queen in the second bedroom...and the cockroaches, which I understand are very common in Hawaii. Bigger bed and no bugs would make this a 5 Star.
Great location!

This is certainly the best condo we have ever stayed in on Kona. We stayed for three weeks in January and loved every minute. When the new owners complete all the little updates that this unit needs, it will be perfect. The unit was clean, the grounds and pool immaculate and the manager very helpful. We will stay here again next year!
Nice view, but bare-bones suite.

Kona is Lovely! from Calgary, AB, Canada on 01/05/2012 said:
The view from the second floor lanai was beautiful, but this condo seemed overlooked. The dingy white walls were marked up and dented, the white carpet had large dark stains, and the decor/furnishings were spartan and dated. The master bed squeaked like crazy if you so much as bumped it walking by.
There were few of the sundries you might expect (for example, no Kleenex, hair dryer, high chair, dryer sheets, Saran Wrap, etc.). Old mismatched towels and dishes, a few random pieces of tupperware that may or may not have lids, and broken blinds both on the main floor and the master bedroom (you are left a broken blind rod to operate them with, handily labelled "use this stick to close blinds"). There were also two leak issues which the owner has since assured me have been fixed.
Even though I paid $145 for cleaning, I received a note from the housekeeper instructing me to change over the laundry and fold/put it away. (I'm not lazy, but for that exorbitant price I don't think I should have been doing the work - or dealing with somebody's used Breathe-Right Strips stuck to the bathroom carpet!)
I also had an issue with the being charged more than the on-line calendar price due to an issue with their automated billing system; the owner did eventually get me a refund but it took two months and several emails. Please note the owner was nice and did what he could to help, even called me directly, and had the housekeeper arrange a convenient time with me before I arrived.
The condo was conveniently located close to Long's Drugs, a grocery store and other shops, and the landscaping was beautiful. Pool and workout room were very nice and kept clean. The complex was well maintained and quiet.
The condo is OK to stay in, but I don't want others to be surprised at the condition of the condo and it's contents as I was. 6 out of 10.
Manager response:
The condo was overlooked but Id like to introduce Ben & Hope Hill, were the proud new owners as of December 27, 2011. The carpet has been professionally cleaned, the screws on the master bedroom have been tightened and the condo is now fully stocked with sundries and new towels plus more! New blinds are now ordered. The condo has a new property manager and housekeeper. Keep an eye on this condo and youll be pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to welcoming you on your future visits.
We loved our stay at Na Hale O Keauhou C-2. Beautiful views, bright and clean condo. Loved having the garage to park in. The host was easy accessible and responded to any inquiries in a timely manner. The only thing that could have been better was the old barbeque in the common area of pool, which barely cooked our food. I would suggest having a barbeque at the unit or having the condo association purchase a new one.

We flew to Kona to attend a small family wedding. The condo was beautiful, clean, easy to locate and in a great location...not too close to town, not too far. Though there were only two of us staying had we known it was as spacious and well laid out for privacy we would have gladly offered the second room to family. Should we return to Kona we would love to stay here again - Mahalo

It was my first trip to Big Island with my husband and 18-year old. I'm really happy I found Na Hale O Keauhou C2 through alohacondos.com and flipkey. C2 was worth the price and more! I emailed and also spoke to Dr. Tim personally. He was very responsive to all my questions and allowed a late checkout as my departure flight was 840 p.m. The 2BR unit was really clean (no ants or other pests!), spacious, with ensuite bathrooms. Utensils, plates and cooking pans were average quality. One of my favorite thing to do was sit in the lanai and watch the gorgeous sunset. Ceiling fans in the rooms made use of the a/C unnecessary. I suggest installation of blinds on the bathroom and BR windows (because of the building's design (sort of L shaped) from a certain angle, you could see through to the master BR from the other BR window that faces the master BR window). The shopping center next door includes KTa Market (also carries some local produce, fresh fish and beef). The center has a farmer's market on Saturdays. The complex is within walking distance to Keauhou Bay where several snorkeling and water adventures leave from. Keauhou is only about 4 miles away from Kona if you want to visit Costco, Walmart, Safeway, and a farmer's market open Tue to Sun. The complex is very quiet at night with very few full-time residents so anyone seeking nightlife would have to drive out to Kona. I would definitely recommend staying at C2!

This was a great location to start your Big Island vacation. Only 25 minute drive to the best beach on the island and 25 minutes to best snorkeling. You can walk to a nearby shopping center that has all your other needs met: grocery store, movie theater, pharmacy, and a few decent restaurants if you want to be low key.
The condo itself is very roomy and well maintained. Despite a few days when the weather was warmer, for the most part we didn't need to more than the ceiling fans and the breeze from the two porches to keep us cool. The view was also priceless.
It does not sit right on the beach, but we liked the quiet away from the crowds in town.
Clean, fantastic location, excellent value!

This truly was the best value I've ever received for a vacation stay. The entire place was very clean, including the bathrooms, which makes all the difference in comfort. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy for us to cook and eat in if we wanted to. Fantastic view of the ocean, and this particular unit was right across the way from the exercise room, community kitchen, and pool/jacuzzi. Really quiet community (at least during my stay). Shopping center for groceries was within walking distance. The owner was very responsive to any questions I had before, during, and after my stay. I only stayed here for with my botfriend, but the place is plenty spacious for 4. The only complaint I have is the squeaky bed in the master bedroom and no wi-fi access. But without a doubt, I would stay here again if I go back to Kona.

Overall the condo was very good. A couple of things that would have made it great... shower in the master bath had barely any water flowing from it and it took several days to figure out how to get warm water out of it (Perhaps a note in the info packet would have been helpful). Also, the toilets were not as clean as they should have been. It was apparent that no-one had cleaned under the seats. Other than that, we appreciated our stay there. Thanks
Manager response:
Aloha Mountain folks,
Thanks for the plus 4 rating on our beautiful condo at C2. Yes, we want it to be great for you and all our guests so I've taken your feedback to heart! Although no one has ever mentioned the difficulty with the shower faucet handle or any problems with the toilet hygiene before, I'm implementing an instructional note on the shower usage so that the guests will be assured of hot streaming showers and eliminate the chance of any frustration with that issue. although we've never had a complaint on toilet cleanliness I've added that specifically to the cleaning crews checklist to ensure that it will always be top-notch in the future.
Thanks again, (mahalo)
We found this condo to be nice, with a few qualifications.
Positives: great location, lots of space, near pool and beaches, comfortable bed, garage (great when arriving in drenching rain), washer/dryer, decent lighting, lanai/porch on each level, good closet space, full size refrigerator, and again, good location very near groceries and Long's Drugs and also about 1/4 mile from terrific snorkeling.
Negatives: missing slats in blinds in living room and bedroom; broken pull-rod on living room blinds; dirty blender; very gross and rusty manual can opener; steep $15 per day charge for possible hour or so per day use a/C, but high and inaccessible windows left open by the cleaning crew; cleaning crew showing up a day early; excessive $145 cleaning fee...not worth it since we found hairs in the sink and pieces of cellophane wrappers about 6 inches under the edge of the bed; no hair dryer.
We would gladly stay in this complex again, but sure would have felt better without the "nickel and dime" AC and cleaning fees, plus the areas of lack of upkeep in this particular unit.
Great Ocean Views!

We only stayed three nights but we were very pleased with the condo. The ocean views are magnificant! We had use of the garage which I did not expect. This was good on the evening when we returned to the condo in a downpour. The pool is very convenient to the condo and very nice. I only have a couple of suggestions. The living room furniture was not very comfortable. The futon style couch was made for sleeping and not lounging. Also, there seems to be some plumbing problems. I had to unclog the master toilet twice, the powder toilet flushed slowly, and the master shower door leaks water all over the bathroom floor unless you're very careful and point the shower head towards the side wall.
Manager response:
Aloha Steven. Yes, the ocean views are magnificent! And the attached garage is very convenient. Your suggestions are appreciated. The addition of a large leatherette easy boy reclining captains chair in the living room, has been appreciated our guests, especially as it looks out over the lawn and ocean. The large queen-size tropical rattan futon couch easily seats three for viewing the television in the living room. As a sleeper it folds out into a full queen bed, which can be used as a comfortable bed for an extra guest or children. Thanks for your feedback on the toilet. No one had ever mentioned that as a problem, so I'm having our repair man correct that and the shower gasket. Thanks for the five-star rating!
We loved our week in the C-2 condo. It's nicer than our home. Across street from large pool with BBQ, great for watching evening sunsets. Woke up every day in master king bed with 180 degree ocean view and had Kona coffee on master lanai. Borrowed beach chairs and cooler left in garage finding many beautiful beaches for lunch. The only things to be better are a master TV and lanai BBQ but for the excellent rate we can't complain.

Our only criticism was that many of the stovetop pots and pans were warped, so they did not make a good connection with the convection surface. That left us with one decent skillet and only a tiny (maybe one quart) sauce pan that worked well.

Our overall experience at Na Hale O Keauhou was fantastic. We stayed 9 nights and were sad to leave.
Prior to our arrival, the owner of C-2, Tim Hendlin provided us with very clear driving instructions of how to get from the airport to the townhouse. When we arrived, waiting for us was a welcoming gift of macadamia nuts. A nice touch.
The complex is very well maintained. The grounds were immaculate, the pool and area around were spotless, and the Weber BBQ was in good working order. Na Hale O Keauhou seems to be a well managed facility. Charlie, the maintenance guy was friendly and always was around when needed.
The unit itself was great. Clean and spacious with all the comforts of home. The ocean view from the lanais was gorgeous. There wasn't anything we didn't like about the townhouse. Although a few minor issues - no hairdryer, minimal BBQ tools (could uses a metal spatula and longer tongs), garage remote didn't work.
I would stay here again and would recommend it to my family and friends.

We've stayed several times near Kailua village at Kona-by-the-Sea and Royal Sea Cliff. This 2-story townhouse had more room, great ocean views on 2 lanai's, a pool with jaccuzzi, and nearby access to popular snorkling beach - at a much better price. Perfect for those who like to cook a few meals at home. Closest access to quality golf for those so inclined. Small shopping center with walking distance includes a full grocery, drug store, bar, a few restaurants, and a 6-screen movie theater. Even the skies were slightly better south of Kona in Keauhou: less vog creeps down from Hualalai mountain in the afternoons. Don't worry, there's still plenty of sun to tan your hide. If you want to dine out often in Kailua, plan to drive for 10 minutes on a highway instead of 3 on a busy street. Like with all townhomes, hotels, and condos, pray for quiet neighbors - like we had.

It was just far enough away from the tourist hub for relaxation and just a few minutes drive to be in the middle of the party. The condo was equipped with all we needed, we BBQ'd a couple times, made ourselves Kona coffee and sat outside as the sun rose, and enjoyed the quiet times at the pool. We didn't want to leave! This was the first time we stayed in a condo instead of a hotel and we will be back!
