I did a lot of research before deciding on the Ilikai Marina and it is in my opinion a complete bargain. Kat Petron, the rental agent was wonderful and answered all questions and concerns expeditiously. She even honoured my special request at no additional charge. The condo was more spacious than I have imagined and I felt totally at home. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment was very very clean and tidy. What I like most about the condo, is of course the spectacular view. I could spend hours just sitting on the lanai taking in the view of the marina and Waikiki over a glass or red wine. In fact, the first thing I did every morning was to eat breakfast on the lanai. The sunrise and sunset were wonderful and I have never seen so many rainbows in my life! Being a corner apartment, I did not have to worry about noise from the neighbours. On some nights I slept with the windows totally opened and enjoyed the night breeze from the ocean. Truly an unforgettable experience. In fact, I could not believe how lucky I was to be in that location, with the lagoon and marina right in front of me. If I must come up with improvements for the condo, they would be minor. I would have liked more soap in the bathroom. One bar of soap for two people is a little insufficient. The wifi did not work although it was easily remedied with the Ethernet cable provided. The cable tv was a disappointment since the reception would be intermittent. Of course, no one goes to Hawaii to watch TV so that was a very minor inconvenience. In terms of noise, daily garbage pickup early in the morning is a nuisance, but I rather have the pickup service than to have to smell the stale garbage. Lovelorn couples making noise outside on the street in front of the marina and the noise of other lovers making passionate love in other units of the same building provide a nice distraction, and perhaps something to be expected - after all, we are in Hawaii!!! I can't wait to be back!!!

Kotonk from La Palma, California on 04/29/2010 said:
We are from Southern California. Our purpose for visiting Oahu was to visit with relatives and eat at tasty local establishments. We were not interested in doing the typical tourist things. After three nights we were off to Maui where my wife was raised. Location: Excellent location for us. The Ilikai Marina is located at the beginning of Waikiki so you are not caught up in as much congestion as in the center of Waikiki. We were not interested in the beach or the T-shirt shops. Ala Moana Park is almost next door and we walked there every morning taking in the spectacular views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. It is also close to Ala Moana Mall for shopping and eating. Traffic is very congested during rush hour but this is the case all around Honolulu. Unit 394: Spotlessly clean and comfortable. A large sliding door separates the bedroom from the living room. It worked well for us as we had my sister-in-law from Maui with us. She slept on the sofa bed in the living room. There was a full kitchen, but we did not use it. The condo is on the third floor so it is not very high. The view though is nice of the marina through the large windows. There was some street noise but the street below is not very busy so it was not an issue. Parking was $17/day. The multi-level parking structure was easy to access (entrance is right next door to the Red Lobster restaurant on Hobron Ln). This is not a hotel so there are no hotel services. I don't remember seeing a washer or dryer in the unit. The nightly rate was very reasonable. The cleaning fee though was quite high. I recommend this unit.

Stayed for a week at the end of Jan.'10. The condo had all that we needed for light housekeeping and meal prep. Xcelnt location for the price. Away from the main Waikiki "strip" Had wiFi, cable and beach chairs etc. Clean, appliances all worked. Short walk to Hilton Village and its' shops, restaurants beach amenities. Good pizza at the bar downstairs, convenience store close by. You do not need a rental car if you stay here. City bus, shuttles and cab will take you anywhere you might want to go. Only two beefs that keep it from 5 star, pull out sofa bed is bad and absence of a front desk as you would find in a hotel for information and services.
Great location for exploring Waikiki and Oahu!

Incredible location on the north end of Waikiki steps away from the Hilton Hawaiian Village gave us the perfect nest to explore Waikiki and the rest of Oahu from! Parking can be expensive but if you are staying more than five days, opt for a monthly pass which is much more reasonable. Very convenient restaurants and walk to the heart of Waikiki. The view overlooks the Marina and a beautiful sunset. Don't miss the fireworks at the Hilton Hawaiian.

This unit was so adorable and comfortable. All the necessities were available for use and the location was great! There is a stunning view and the fireworks on Friday nights were spectacular. Chuck, the owner, immediately returned emails when questions were asked. I actually extended my stay there by 4 days. The unit was well furnished and the availability of cable and internet made the stay like being at home. I would highly recommend staying here in Unit 394.

We particularly enjoyed the flexibility offered by having a full kitchen. The on-site laundry facility on the upper floor(s) is definitely a plus. The room was nicely decorated with a good view of the marina. This unit is conveniently located on the west side of the Waikiki area. I had problem connecting to the wireless and there wasn't help beyond the basic information about the SSID to help me in resolving the problem. Luckily we brought with us a cat5 cable. Nonetheless, we had 2 laptops and only one could be online at a time.

A wonderful place to stay for spring break with my daughter, and 5 year old grandson. The views of the marina, ocean and sunset are unbeatable. The unit was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It felt spacious and I liked the way one could always look out at the amazing view without being over-cluttered with too much furniture. The Lagoon and Beach were really close, and an easy walk for a 5 year old and so we could easily go to and fro during the day. It was really good value, and I would recommend this as a great place to stay for anybody

As others have stated the condo is stocked with kitchen supplies, books about Oahu, beach towels, sand toys, boogie board,etc... The updated bathroom was great and also, the king sized bed was very comfortable! The reservations, check in, check out, etc was effortless! Definitely recommend this condo for those looking to stay very near, but not in Waikiki! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

On the days mentioned above, my husband, adult daughter and I stayed in condo number 790. We were not excited to be in the business of Waikiki and so were very glad to find that your condo was in such a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The parking garage was handy for in and out parking and oh. so convenient. The very best thing about the condo was how perfectly it was stocked and supplied. I can't imagine what we could have needed that wasn't provided for us. Thank you so much! If ever we are able to return to Oahu, we'll be in touch with you right away to secure a return visit to condo number 790 at Ilikai Marina. Our daughter left her camera and Mary found it and promised to send it to her. Of course we will pay for the shipping. Susan will be so glad to have her camera returned. She takes a lot of pictures and actually sees her vacation in more detail through her photography(she has very low vision). So many thanks to Mary for her kindness in finding a pretty important part of our happy vacation.

This tiny condo was perfect for us because we only sleep there, and enjoy walking to restaurants, beaches and parks. Too bad parking there is so expensive ($ 17.00 a day??) The kitchen could use a sharp knife or two for those of us who like to cook. Looked like they decided not to provide them because sommebody obviously used the formica counter as a cutting board. Beach towls and umbrella were a plus. Bathrooom remodel, impressive. Very quiet neighbors.Management needs to implement its well posted NO SMOKING policy to thr hired painters who worked all week when we were there and stunk up the parking garage which affected the hallways.

Elvis Fan from Edmonton, Ab. Canada on 12/17/2009 said:
The location was great, the condo was adequate. They definitely need a new sofabed, it was very old and uncomfortable. The main problem we had was the street noise, coming from the bar below and the garbage trucks very early in the mornings. The building is quite old and could use some updating.Seeing cockroaches when we came out of the stairwell on the main floor was rather gross, considering that is where the restaurants are located. We would likely stay there again, perhaps on a higher floor.
Manager response:
The Ilikai Marina is in fact a quiet location. There is only a single lane access road separating the building from the beautiful Marina. The garbage truck comes and goes in the morning. If one is super-sensitive to sound the easiest way to avoid the truck noise is to shut the lanai door in the living room for that period of time. The bedroom is completely quiet if you shut the sliding door separating it from the living room. As the building is concrete construction there is no noise transfer between the units.
For sleeping the sofa bed is not as comfortable as the King size Simmons Beautyrest bed in the bedroom. However as sofa beds go it is extremely comfortable as a day time sofa. Extra foam has been added to make it more comfortable for a good night's rest.
The Ilikai Marina is always kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The ground floor has attractive landscaping, and is completely open to the outside, which is one of its charms. The building is treated for insects on a regular basis.

canadian from Vancouver, B.C. on 04/01/2009 said:
At first sight the suite looked great, comfortable and clean. Then we found some small bugs racing around the kitchen counter the next day. A couple of days later we saw a cockroach on the kitchen wall. We told the manager of the building and she gave us some bug traps which did nothing to get rid of them. We decided we would just avoid the kitchen and not let these critters spoil our vacation. After we came home we sent photos which we had taken of those bugs to the person/company that we had corresponded with to secure the rental suite. No real apologies came back. My advise to to find out if they did anything to the bug problem since November of 2007.
Manager response:
The condo is now under new ownership and management.
In the summer of 2009, the condo was completely renovated with all new furniture, new flooring, a new kitchen and a new bathroom.
There has not been any evidence or reports of bugs this year (2009).

We've stayed in this unit for a week and had a great time. The location is perfect, the view is beautiful. Parking is not a problem, we always found a spot in the free area nearby but if you don't, you can park in the attached garage for a fee. Waikiki beach area is walking distance, shops are walking distance. This is just a great little place to stay if you do not want to stay in a hotel or you want to save a little money. The unit is a bit outdated but clean, comfy and nothing was broken. You will find everything in the kitchen what you need for cooking. Bring beach towels though since those in the unit are small and not the best quality for water absorbtion. We highly recommend this unit to stay in, and we will deffinately return one day!!!

Nice unit, great view. The plastic liner on the pull out bed was low quality, even our 4-yo daughter complained about it. The carpeting is pretty worn. It would have been nice to have housekeeping come in after the 7th day to do the towels/sheets. This was done for another unit we stayed in the previous year. We stayed a total of 13 days. The shower was a little dingy. This end of the building is subject to street noise from people outside of the restaurant below.
Manager response:
We appreciate the feedback. The carpeting is always washed on a normal basis and should not be a problem. We have not heard any complaints about the plastic liner on the pull out bed but will look into it. Interim cleanings are schedule at the guest's convenience. Just give us a call and we will let cleaning know to come in. I'm sorry the street noise was too much for you to bear but usually the noise isn't bad at all and does not cause a disturbance. Thanks again for the feedback!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this condo at the Ilikai Marina. First off, the view was fantastic, right alongside the Ilikai Marina with the clear blue waters of Waikiki to the left. After a long day of trekking around Oahu, sitting out on the private patio overlooking the marina was a great end to a day. The condo is centrally located at convenient distances from both the Ala Moana center and Waikiki, but still very quiet and peaceful in the evenings. The condo itself is very clean and well-kept with spacious and bright rooms. The wireless internet was very convenient for scouting out the day's activities. I didn't have a chance to take advantage of the surprisingly large kitchen, but it was a great plus to the condo's amenities. All in all, an amazing find and I would definitely would return a second time and recommend to friends.

THE VIEW IS SPECTACULAR. There is an excellent restaurant right downstairs. The place is easy to find, and conveniently located between Ala Moana (main shopping area) and Waikiki (main tourist beach). Good location and value for a vacation in Honolulu. The kitchen is a nice one if you have to cook. Only thing is that that parking fees are quite high. You can consider street parking, abundant close by. Finally, the check-in procedure, or the lack thereof, is nice and smooth on first and last day - saves a lot of time.

Thank you for your response, notlim2. Please note that all of our furniture with the exception of the end tables are less than two years old; we completely refurnished recently with high end, Hawaiian style furniture.....so although the furniture style is modern Hawaiian/Wicker, to call it 'old fashioned' is a bit of a misnomer.

In late February, we stayed a week in unit 1182 at the Ilikai Marina Condos. We enjoyed a gorgeous view over the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Ala Moana Beach Park, and the Pacific Ocean. The condo is located on the quiet end of the Waikiki area, but within walking distance to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and the central part of Waikiki. There are also several lovely, sandy beaches to choose from, which are a few minutes walk away form the condo. Unit 1182 is comfortable and very well equipped and furnished. The kitchen contained everything we needed when we prepared meals, enjoying our own ocean-view dining area and lanai. There was a slight problem with a leaky pipe when we arrived, but it was taken care of very quickly by the Aloha Condos team. The condo building watchmen were also very helpful when we had questions. We had a great time while staying in 1182 and would definitely book this condo again for a future holiday.

We enjoyed staying in this well kept and tastefully furnished condo in a near perfect location. We particularly enjoyed the harbor and sunset view, the Friday night fireworks and the easy access to Honolulu and Waikiki. The Ilikai Marina is a 5 minute walk along the harbor to the beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the rest of Waikiki beach. Nice for both walking and swimming. Our only wish for a relatively long stay would be some more self-help equipment for cleaning.

The condo was just as shown on the website. Amazing views, neat and tidy. We had a great stay. A recommendation is maybe a guide/guest book in the room. We thankyou for the early checkin after a long flight. One thing I have to mention is that upon arrival the bed sheets had big brown dirt marks on them, they were clean but it looked like they were stained during washing. We used the spare set provided. Everything else was perfect!
Manager response:
Thanks very much tk1, for your comments! Regarding the stained sheets, we're very sorry for your inconvenience. We've since retired one set of sheets, purchased another, and are paying strict attention to their care and cleaning. We've also placed a guest book in the condo - thanks for the great recommendation!

This condo has it all. Well maintained, well stocked, well furnished, and well suited for a family of 4. We really appreciated all the accommodations and amenities. The kitchen, utensils, appliances, plumbing, carpet, and furniture were all in top shape. You can't imagine how relaxing a vacation can be when you don't have to worry about household things going wrong. The location is excellent. Walking distance to Ala Moana shopping center and convenient route to bypass the heart of Waikiki. And don't miss the Friday night fireworks over at the lagoon. Also, very important, the internet worked! What a relief to be able to "google" our itinerary, finish up some overdue work, and complete a "last minute emergency" online exam. The only negative was the proximity to Yacht Harbor Towers (which was under renovation). It was rather noisy during the day, but, if you're out during the day, as you should be while on vacation, the construction was not a problem. We will definitely stay here again. Mahalo and Aloha!

Our first visit back in 10 years. This apt. was well furnished - new furniture and bed very comfortable. Kitchen was adequate for our needs since we ate out most of the time. Bathroom needs to be updated - especially the shower doors. Lovely view from the patio and we found the bldg to be well looked after with 24 hour security. I did read that someone had a problem with noise from the restaurant below, however although it was busy the whole time we were there we were never once disturbed by noise from the restaurant. I would not hesitate to recommend this apt. to other visitors.
Manager response:
Janet, many thanks for your comments! Your suggestion that we update the bathroom was spot-on. We're happy to announce that we've recently completed our major bathroom remodel. We've expanded the room, and have completely renovated it with top end materials. It now has beautiful tiling and slab granite throughout, a new cherrywood vanity with expanded counter space, as well as modern fixtures and improved lighting. Look for updated pictures and a revised floor plan on our website in early 2010. We're really excited about this renovation, and are confident that our guests will really enjoy their stay, now more than ever.

Just as the online pictures promised: a spacious, well-appointed and nicely decorated unit with a fabulous view of the Yacht Harbor and Magic Island. Our 3-yo daughter loved the pull-out bed and we enjoyed being able to retreat to the bedroom. The bed was luxurious and fresh. We can't recall the last time we slept so well. Although there is nightlife along the marina, the unit is high up enough so it is quiet. The bathroom had plenty of towels and the housekeeping crew does a great job. There are even spare towels and a couple of folding chairs for the beach. There are laundry facilities on site. The kitchen has everything and there is enough space to make pretty good meals and enjoy them. The dishes and utensils were good quality and the appliances worked well. The unit has free wireless Internet and it was not hard to set up: there is a cheat sheet that has all of the log-in info. The building is located near the HHV lagoon (renovated in 2008) and it was a short walk to the lagoon and the adjoining beach. We were in the water every day and our 3-yo could walk each way. The Chart House, located off the lobby, has nice atmosphere and great food and service. There is a casual pizza place around the corner that has a friendly bar. There are several other dining options within a block of the building. If you are renting a car, there is convenient covered parking in the building. You can sign up for a monthly pass at the booth if you are staying more than 10 days (cheaper that way and no tickets to lose). We'll be back. What a find this was.

We were told there was a pool.......Not! There was too much kitchen for us. All we needed was a coffee pot, microwave, and fridge. The beach chairs were heavy as lead and as soon as we got to the Hale Koa beach we rented chaise lounges, umbrella, ice bucket with water. And still had to lug the heavy chairs back to the car. The manager told us there had not been a pool access for two years. I believe part of what we paid was for access to a pool. Cooking smells permeated the hall. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. The other furniture was some of the most uncomfortable we've ever tried to relax on. No, we would not stay in 1182 again or recommend it to anyone. It was overpriced for what we had.
Manager response:
Dear Mr and Mrs Jellison,
We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay. Please know that we've recently upgraded our condo with a beautiful new sleeper sofa, which has a very comfortable (and extra thick) queen size mattress.
We've also upgraded our kitchen supplies, and installed a living room stereo with iPod capability. New lightweight beach chairs will arrive within a week, to replace the older, heavier chairs.
Thanks very much again for your comments - We really want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible!

The condo was awesome, especially for returning locals who have a car. Top of the list was the 180 degree ocean view from Hilton lagoon to ala Moana park from the living room/balcony and the bedroom (watch their excellent video - it says it all). The place was very clean, bright with natural light, well furnished, had a large SubZero fridge which was perfect for freezing our local delights we always bring back to the mainland. It was very quiet being a residence/condo-tel building. The large parking garage directly below the condo was very convenient for going in and out. It was very well stocked on kitchen and dining stuff. It even had a nice rack of spices to cook with. The king bed was very firm, and the pull out sofa sleeper was very comfortable with a memory foam top - very nice addition. The web site was very well designed, and the follow up emails were very informative, clear and simple. My family was very happy with my "find" at this condo. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much to Gary and Mary appel who I have never met but feel like I know them through their well thought out traveler's haven and emails. Aloha and Mahalo.

The only things I would fault it on would be the drapes in the bedroom and living room need replaced as they are torn and takes away the atmosphere of the condo. The view is fabulous, the marina side is quiet for being right in Waikiki, and having the full kitchen really made a big difference in our stay. The location is a close walk to Ala Moana Mall, the Beachwalk shopping area and Waikiki. Watching the sunsets, water activities (and Friday night fireworks)from our lanai while drinking some fabulous 100% Kona coffee was a great vacation highlight. On site laundry on the 8th floor was helpful too. Hint: The higher floors are better if you are noise sensitive as the great bar/restaurant on the ground floor marina side stays busy late. The condo was exactly as described and pictured. It was immaculate, comfortably furnished and had a fantastic view of the marina and Honolulu's beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was the best equipped condo of any we have stayed in from Paris to Amsterdam and the building was very quiet. The attached parking garage (while a bit pricey at $17 per day) was very convenient and secure with unlimited in and out privileges. The owners were extremely easy to work with and very concerned that all of our needs were met. Any questions we had were answered promptly. We had a local contact along with the owners' email and phone numbers in case of any problems - of which there were none. Our only initial concern was locating the actual entrance to the building. Our GPS couldn't determine that while the street address is Ala Moana Blvd. the building and parking garage are accessed via Hobron Ln. between The Red Lobster and Charter House restaurants. Having laundry facilities on the 8th floor near the elevators was convenient. Just remember to bring plenty of quarters and your own soap & fabric softener since there are no change machines or product dispensers. The only other comment concerns the carpeting in the hallways - it is in need of a deep cleaning and some TLC. This, however, is an issue for the complex not this specific unit. We had a great stay and have already told many friends that we would highly recommend this unit as the perfect place to stay while enjoying Honolulu, Waikiki and the island of Oahu.

I have been reading the reviews since we stayed in this apartment and I can only assume something was done about the filthy carpet! I just felt sick when I saw it. Cannot imagine who would be able to spill so much on a cream carpet - it was hideous. As for the towels, my dog had better, really worn and a grey colour. Have never stayed in a holiday home that was so disappointing. I got in touch with the owner who just fobbed me off! Chuck the manager was great with the booking payment etc so no worries there. I do agree it is in a great place, so close to shopping and a lovely little lagoon to swim in if you don't want to walk to far when it is hot. Also there was no electric kettle at the time and we had to boil up a pot of water for tea, microwave water just does not cut it. Perhaps another apartment would be better for future holidays for us as I would not trust the pictures on the Aloha Condo site.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and we appreciate the feedback.
Our guests do sometimes stain the carpet and after several unsuccessful attempts to remove the stains by steam cleaning, we decided to replace the carpet with a simulated wood floor - it's more attractive, and easier to keep clean. This was completed in November of 2008.
Although we have had no other complaints about the towels, our towels were replaced early this year (2009) when we brought in a new local contact and cleaning crew.
Both we (the owners), and our local staff make guest satisfaction a high priority. Guests are provided with contact information and we do respond to all our guest's concerns. The recent positive responses from our other guests confirm that we are achieving this priority.

It's a beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view. I found everything within the apartment, such as kitchen equipment, very adequate. Ala Moana Shopping Centre is close by, which made self-catering easy, and there's a little supermarket just on the corner if you don't fancy a walk. Waikiki is also handy in the opposite direction but if you'd rather avoid it, you can. The apartment is also within range of a pay as you go wireless network, which was useful for me. I wish I could have stayed longer, and would happily go back again. Loved the constant view of the sky and ocean, and the marina below. The only draw back was the high cleaning fee. However, it meant that the apartment was in very good condition.
Manager response:
The condo now has free Wi-Fi (wireless) internet.

The pullout sleeper was not comfortable but they took turns so no one had to sleep on it every night and all survived The condo is close to everything and a gorgeous view. No complaints that I know of and will rent again We will rent again

The condo was great. Thank you very much! We had a wonderful time as usual. We go every year like clockwork. We might as well own a property there but this condo gave us the home we needed and more. It was very close to shopping and beaches. It has a wonderful view of the fireworks on Fridays that Hilton Hawaiian Village puts out every week. It provided a haven for my tires children after a full day at the beach. Parking is quite expensive but otherwise, this condo has all the amenities of home except you are in paradise.

Condo 1286 is conveniently located to shopping, beach and public transport. Our previous stays in Waikiki have been in expensive, tiny hotel rooms. Staying in full sized apartment made our holiday so much more enjoyable and economical. The thorough description and photos on aloha Condos site are accurate, and dealings with the owners were prompt and helpful (eg being allowed to leave luggage early in morning in condo before afternoon check-in).

This was our fourth time renting a condo at the Ilikai Marina. We never stayed at unit 1286 before. Being on a higher floor and farther away from the elevators, the unit was nice and quiet. The unit has basic amenities, fully-stocked kitchen, good air conditioning and comfortable bed. The bathroom faucet could use upgrading, it was rather dingy. Beach chairs would have been a nice touch--we had those available in previous units as well as other little amenities like boogie boards, etc. Owners were friendly and provided quick responses to emails. WiFi was available by piggy-backing off available signals within the building so it was hit & miss. For the price, it was a good value.

The condo was everything I hoped it to be. It was very nice. I loved the private bedroom that could be completely closed off from the rest of the condo. I was pleased at all the little surprises like beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler. They thought of everything. We even found a filtering water picture in the fridge. Just across the street was a McDonalds and a little store called ABC were you can buy everything from souvenirs to groceries. The building has several nice restaurants, however we cooked most of our meals in the fully stocked kitchen.

Nice condo, tastefully decorated, well cared for and well equipped. Owners obviously take pride in their place and are very nice to deal with. Convenient and very versatile floor plan. Quite central. Interesting, ever changing view. Walk to beach. Easy to access by car. Cars are reasonably priced to rent but parking is expensive in Waikiki. Guess it all evens out. Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse and Charthouse on bottom floor of the building and shopping on the next block. Only criticisms are some street noise but (not unexpected in the middle of the city) and small balcony but oceanfront location makes up for that. No complaints.

We are first-timers to Hawaii-still there as I write this- and were fortunate that Vlad and Gillian had three days available. Their condo deserves all the praise that it has received It was beautifully equipped with a full kitchen and was immaculate. The bed was large and very comfortable. Having a local phone saved us many extra cell phone minutes. The lanai is small, but fits two, and we used it often.. It overlooks the marina and the ocean. From the building it is a short walk to the beaches in front of the neighboring Hilton and to Waikiki, in one direction. There was good shopping close by. (At the Ala Moana Market Place, we enjoyed Mauana Loa Poi Bowl in the food court. Be sure to season the poi with the Lomi Lomi Salmon. The Island Vantage coffee stand in the court made one of the best espressos I've ever had. Our only problem was with WiFi, because I brought our old, less sensitive, laptop with us. Although there were accessible networks all around, I got the best, though still variable, reception by paying for the Metro18 network. We highly recommend this unit and hope to stay in it again. This would have been great at twice the price.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and Gillian and Vlad made sure it was perfect. The condo is even better than the photos show and was spotless, cool and welcoming when we arrived. Nice extra touches included ice in the freezer, filtered water in the fridge and a guidebook to help with things to do. There were also coffee filters and a generous assortment of spices for cooking. Truly fully equipped. The view was spectacular, the bed extremely comfy. Linens and towels were plentiful and of high quality. It is only a short stroll to the Hilton Lagoon and beach. There is an ABC store steps away and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The only negative was the poor attitude of the attendants working in the parking garage. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend this condo highly to anyone else wanting a quiet, beautiful, perfect stay. Gillian and Vlad are awesome hosts. A special thanks also to Mary for making sure everything was so clean and tidy.

We had a wonderful 8 day stay at the Illikai marina. The location was perfect for a family with young children. The condo was clean and very nicely decorated. We stay in alot of vacation condos and location alone will keep us coming back to the illikai marina. Unfortunately there are some caveats. 1. Even though we asked the aloha condos staff about the deck railings looking like they ended awfully far from the building, they assured us the spacing was no more then the railing spacing.. that was incorrect. *IF* you had the condo slider open all the way blocking off 2 inches, that was true. If you closed the slider part way then the spacing was 8 inches! Not only that, but there is a small ledge, so I would never recommend leaving the slider open with children under 8-10. I cant comprehend how it could have ever met building codes. Now, saying that, we would still stay there again because we love the location and the a/c works great. :) But we would have brought a travel gate so that we could feel safe opening the sliding door. 2. The kitchen didnt have a stitch of tupperware -none of the perks that you usually find in a rental... sugar, or left over foil that the last folks left bring those from home. 3. Towels!! We (3) were provided with 1 bath towel and 1 beach towel for an 8 day stay. I dont know about you, but I dont use the same towel every day for over a week.. especially when vacationing in a beach location that is very warm. We had to wash the towels, which was a first at any rental we have ever stayed in. The washer and dryers at the illikai ate $5 in quarters. There is no change machine. ABC store will only give 3.00 in quarters with purchase. It was a big pain. Dont use the stacked w/d & bring plenty of quarters. It cost 2.25 each load to wash and an addtl 2.25 to dry. The washer only fit 6 of the large towels and a few hand towels. Again, we would stay there again and feel it was a value, but wish we would have known the above.

We loved our stay at 1294 at the Illikai Condo. It was clean, tidy and very quiet. It had a kitchen which was fully equipped if you wanted to stay in and cook. Otherwise there was a Red Lobster down stairs, pub and other places within walking distance. Great location which was a 10 min walk to Waikiki beach so you weren't in the hussle and bussle. It also was 10min walk to Ala Mona shopping centre which had fantastic stores. There was cheap parking for $6US for 12hrs which is great if you had a car for a few days. We parked at the condo's which was $17US per day and worked out better for us as we didn't have to keep moving the car after 12hrs. The only downside is that there was construction work happening at the Ilikai Hotel across the road so could be a bit noisy in the day, however if your in Hawaii you wouldn't really be staying in your room! Would definately stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

My family and I stayed in unit 1294 for 9 days on a recent trip to O'ahu. The condo was perfect for us! My husband was attending a conference at the Hilton Hawaiian Village just two hotels down from us- less than a 10 minute walk. From the Ilikai Marina I could walk with our 14 month old to the beach, to the lagoon, to the Ala Moana Mall (where there's also a full grocery store), or take a longer walk down into the "heart" of Waikiki. It was also a convenient starting point for driving to other parts of the island, like the North Shore and to Hanauma Bay. The condo itself had everything we needed and we loved having a full kitchen. The view from the condo is fantastic and on our last morning we were treated to a gorgeous full rainbow just outside. The bed was comfy, the air conditioning worked great, it was easy to park and easy to make all the arrangements with Chuck, the property manager. We rented baby equipment like a high chair and pack-n-play from a local company called www.babytravelmadeeasy.com. They provided a great service. The only drawback to the condo is there is no dishwasher. Since we did a lot of cooking ourselves, this was one convenience that would have been nice to have. Also one of the standing lamps in the living room had a burnt out bulb and the toilet tank seemed to have a leak so the water would run more than it needed to. We used the washer and dryer in the building twice during our stay and that was really nice to have nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

There were food scraps in the kitchen sink, the refrigerator was not wiped down, the kitchen had been swept, but the dustpan was not used to complete the task, the windows toward the extraordinary view were not clean, the glass top tables and furniture were dusty, there were visible dust clusters under the bed, and there was an empty candy wrapper on the bed. I called the owner within minutes to let him know the condition. I also called the individual in charge of cleaning. She did come a few hours later, and cleaned the sink and floor. I paid a $120.00 cleaning fee, and asked that the fee be reduced or waived. The owner did not call back either that evening or during the following 3 days.

It was a great central location to all the places we wanted to see. We had a blast. The only thing I could not figure out was how to turn on the showerhead, but the jacuzzi made up for that. After a long day of sightseeing, the warm jets of water soothed my sore muscles and helped me relax on my vacation.

I ended up in Honolulu by myself with family members staying at a hotel on the strip. I felt my accommodations were far better than theirs, and for about the same price. I had a gorgeous view of the Gilligan's Island marina, they had a view of the roof of an adjoining building. They were smack in the middle of the touristy area, I could get to it and away from it at will, which I loved. The staff at aloha Condos could not have been more helpful and bent over backward to take care of me. Also, you are right next to the Hilton Complex, which is huge, and easy to access. You can use their stores and restaurants, and their beach, and no one bothers you. It is kind of fun to watch all of the weddings that constantly go on during the weekends. The closest Starbucks is also over there. Proximity to their grounds more than made up for the condo not really having much of a lobby area...and they have fireworks on Friday evening which are really close to this condo. A couple of hints. Don't rent a car and don't use the cheesy tourist trolley: it is way overpriced! Also, you'll spend all of your time trying to find parking in the Waikiki area. The city bus is easy to use, especially if you have Google maps on a PDa. Each trip is $2.25, and if you make them give you a voucher for the return trip then that is for free. $17 a pop to keep a car overnight seemed high, and aloha Condos makes sure that everyone understands that cost. You can rent a car in three separate places near the condos if you want to tour the island for a single day or two. Don't take it into the downtown areas at night...oh, and they have a guard on duty at the harbor condos every single night. I really appreciated that! Felt safe everywhere but downtown Honolulu (not the tourist strip, but over where the government buildings are) in the evening, even though it was still light out (had a function I had to attend).

I would recommend a portable fan in the condo, we bought one and left it there for the next vacationers :) The bedroom and bathroom just needed that extra little air circulation. We would definitely come back to Ilikai 1592!! We would recommend this unit to all of our friends and family!! Aloha :)

I visit Hawaii yearly for a little r and r. I like the area of the marina because it's not crowded but still close to all restaurants, shops and the beach. In the past i have stayed at the Ilikai hotel (next door to the marina). I decided to stay at the ilikai marina to save some money. I thought the room had an awesome view and it was very roomy. I have never stayed at a condo and didnt really know what to expect. I was happy that the room had a large kitchen with everything you need. However, I was disappointed that the bed wasn't comfortable, mattress seemed aged and the bedding for the bed and sofa bed seemed old. They had comforters, i dont know if they wash it every single time a new tenant uses the unit. I would suggest for them to use bedding with duvets (easy to wash). The bathroom's wall paper is peeling, and it needs updating. Next time condos are not for me, i will pay the extra little money to have my room cleaned daily

I picked out this room because its room rate seemed pretty reasonable compared to other hotel/condo rooms with ocean view. I believe my choice was right. Once you enter the room, you will be dazzled by the panoramic view from windows. Sky, clouds, ocean, yachts and boats, palm trees, sunset, night view... If you stay over on Friday, do not miss the fire works of Hilton. This room is located at the best position to see them. The nighborhood is not as crowded as the central district of Waikiki, yet is convenient enough. Most of the things (including groceries) are available at an aBC store just around the corner, and ala Moana Shopping Center is in a walking distance also. Beaches are in walking distance, too. The building and room facilities are not modern, but sufficed enough for me. Actually, I felt more relaxed in this room than in usual hotel rooms. Even though there was no front desk, no conceirge desk, I did not feel any difficulty. Things are as well organized as per instructions. And, Kat, the local support, was friendly and very helpful. I could not find a hair dryer on arrival, and then she brought one to me shortly after I called her. Those who want a vacation in luxury may go for another accommodation of higher room rate, but the priceless superb view from this room may be still worth consideration.

The view from the condo is beautiful from watching whales jump in the bay to the sunsets at night. The condo had plenty of room for a family of 4. The locations is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki but close enough for our teenagers to enjoy, only a 10 minute walk and you are in the middle of it all. Kat was very helpful with any issues that we had and found a solution right away. The television was not working when we arrived, she had another one there the next day. The only negative we found was having to pay for the parking 17.00 a day. Even with that said all of the employees at the condo were very friendly!

First of all, the booking and instructions for accessing the condo were excellent. The location is great and the condo was clean. The issues we had are small and relate to the unit needing a bit of money spent on it to make it excellent. The TV had been replaced with a flat screen, but it is only about a 20" widescreen, pretty small. One towel bar in the bathroom was missing and the shower curtain was falling apart. The kitchen has been reno'd, but it was a cheapo job with the cabinets being installed so high the you need to get on a stool to reach the second shelf, let alone the third one. The ceramic tiles on the kitchen floor are chipped and the carpet in the rest of the unit (along with the drapes and the hokey old silk flowers) all need to be scrapped. Also, the rollers on the sliding door to the balcony and its lock are worn out making the door very difficult to open and impossible to secure. It also bangs and whistles when the wind is strong. The unit includes towels and a face cloth, but they are so old and thin that we bought some new ones. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again, but it take a fairly small amount of attention and expenditure on this condo to make it the one that we would seek out for our next stay.
Manager response:
Dear Wayne:
Thanks for the review, and suggestions.
I am buying new bath towels, face cloths, fixing the towel bar, shower curtain, balcony door lock.
Hope it will give you a better experience for your next stay. Thanks for staying in my condo.

Room was clean. Bed Sheets were of good quality, Pillow was fair quality. Bath Towels and face towels ok. Bed a huge King, slightly firm and we slept well all except the first night. Drapes black out room quite well. The condo had plenty of items some condos do not have such as: Coffee Filters, Sugar, Paper towels, toilet paper, salt etc. It could be that the previous guest left some of the items. Great little kitchen to make coffee every morning. Huge Frig. Great to have a dining table in the room. TV had many channels. The view of the City/Mountains is very panaromic. Location to Resturants and ABC store is only 1 or 2 blocks away. The room is quiet, except for the first night when one of the neighbors was in late and loud with shutting their lanai door which really shakes up the wall. We got the room when there was a special rate, so all in all much better, bigger room than a Hotel in the same price range.

We found Condo 1785 excellent. The booking process via Aloha Condo's website was quick and easy and the email communication via Chuck was excellent every step of the way, from telling us when payments are being taken and providing the joining instructions, to answering any ad-hoc questions as soon as they were sent. The condo itself was very clean and well kept with everything you need. The main room is large and the condo has a full kitchen, cooker / fridge etc with a clean bathroom. The entire building was fairly modern and well kept. Its a 5 minute walk to the closest beach (next to the Hilton) and a 15 minute walk to Waikiki beach and all the amenities, shops and restaurants found there. Closer to the condo are a number of restaurants and bars, the Ala Moana shopping centre is a 5 minute walk, and an ABC store is over the road. The only critisism we had is there wasn't a grocery store or supermarket near to the condo (we didnt really look too hard) and there is some street noise from the balcony even when the doors were closed but this really was not a problem. Stopping here is a fraction of the cost of the hotels close by and you have the option of cooking meals rather then eating out. Its only 5-15 minutes away from everything you need which for us made it exceptional value for money without offering dirty, cheap and nasty accommodation. I would reccommend this condo to everyone!

This property has an excellent location for beach and shopping, clean and convinient. Perfect for two people. Kitchen is well equipped. My only suggestion would be to have 2 lounge chairs in the unit to take it to the beach. I am coming back next year and renting this place again for sure. Marina

We reallly enjoyed your clean condo in the Yacht Harbor area. From obtaining groceries, eating out, catching the bus or strolling the beach and docks your location can't be beat. Thanks for sharing! The building is clean and quiet and the residents are friendly. Sorry to see that the Ilikai Hotel is stalled in the renovation process. We had been there 30 years ago! However, the lagoon area is completely updated and the beautiful sunsets are still there.
