Stopped at the Ilikai for a couple of nights, adjusting ourselves to Hawaiian time before continuing to the Big Island... Clean apartment, with everything we could ask for, right next to both shopping and beaches. Would be great if they could buy a new bed-sofa, our kids were sleeping on it and the you could feel the springs through the mattress. Did not complain about this during our stay since we were there for only a few nights. Apart from the couch, fantastic.
Much better than staying in a hotel and the view is great.

This was my second stay at 629. I usually stay at the Hale Koa which is a short walk away, but staying in 629 is so much more convienient and comfortable. The full kitchen really makes a difference for longer stays, my April trip was 22 days. I visit Oahu twice a year usually in April-May and again in Sep-Oct and I plan on being in 629 when the scheduling and pricing permits.

We have stayed in 629 before and it's always been great. The manager is great, easy to get hold of and fixes anything we need quickly. We had a problem with the a/C and they came up that day to check it out. We didn't have the slider all the way closed to it turns out it was nothing, but they arrived quickly to help us.

This was our second stay at the Ilikai. I have a family of 4 with 2 little kids. These suites are perfect for families. Good value for your money with all the conveniences of home. The location cannot be beat with everything within walking distance (beach, pool, lagoon, grocery store, walmart, international market). The large lanai is great for kids to eat outside. There was also sand toys and beach towels available for use which saved buying our own. The only suggestions I would have is because there is not a bathtub, that the shower in the bathroom be converted to a hand held shower head so cleaning little people and the sand that gets into every crease would be much easier. It would also be nice to have a tall broom in the room because even though we try to get all the sand off before coming up, it still seems to get tracked into the room on shoes. I would sweep just as I would at home if I could have instead of chasing the sand around with a paper towel on my hands and knees. The room was not fancy but with 2 little kids I did not want to be on edge about the possibility of breaking anything. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and the pull out couch was perfect for kids. Unfortunately, our air conditioner in unit 629 broke on day 1, but I must say that the owner and property managers worked very hard to fix the problem. We were moved twice over the course of the week to other suites which was very inconvenient with 2 kids and groceries however, we were compensated very fairly for our troubles and everyone was very apologetic. Something like that could not have been predicted and I believe they handled it as best they could have. I will definitely book here again. Thank you Rocco!!!
Thanks for the note, and glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. Ironically the AC unit had just been serviced before your arrival. But yes, the compressor went out and we had to order one two-day air from the mainland.
Good news, it was installed Friday before last and is working great!
p.s. We will make sure to get a regular broom into the room as well.

Enjoyed our quick stay at Ilikai Hotel Condo 629... I just finished presenting at a conference at the Convention Center and needed some R&R.; Great choice!! Amenities were comfortable and view was great!! Great location - close to beaches and restaurants... recommend Wailana Coffee House across the street for breakfast, and enjoyed a quiet romantic dinner at the Top of the I, on our last night. Only drawback... we love fresh air but were not able to leave door open and a/C off due to "chirping" from smoke detector. Made a call to have this fixed but since we were only there for the weekend, wasn't fixed before we left. The toilet made a loud whistling sound when flushed, but was fixed on Monday - before we left.
Thanks for the great note, glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. We have fixed the toilet and the A/C and are keeping tabs on the smoke alarm. So far the noise has not repeated.

I couldn't have been happier with our condo and I thought the Ilikai was definitely on the nicest part of the Waikiki Beach. Just a fabulous view when you came around the corner and saw the lagoon and the beach and the beach was much quieter at that end! Lots of good restaurants and music places and no homeless people like at the other end of the beach. Our room was great and plenty of space for three people. My 21 year old daughter and I shared the king bed and had plenty of room and my friend used the sofa bed and she said it was fine. The room divider provided privacy but you need to leave it a little bit open during the night to get the benefit of the a/c. The unit was attractive and was fully equipped - seems like it has been newly renovated. Nice sunsets from our room but we often weren't there at sunset time! I couldn't believe how quiet it was there, no street noise at all because we were on the ocean side of the building. I guess i would have to add that the a/c was kind of noisy but I didn't mind because not having it would have been way worse! All in all, the trip worked out really smoothly. Our contact, Rocco, at aloha Condo Rentals answered all my inquiries immediately which left me confident about the process. I loved the keyless entrance as well, nice not to have to keep track of keys. I would definitely go back there again.

We felt the condo was super clean and comfortable, great shower, enough towels. Staying on the harbor side of the building was much quieter than the street side (our last trip). The accessibility to Waikiki beach was great and it was very easy to park in the public parking for fairly cheap. We felt the kitchen was well equipped and the king bed was great. Our daughter came over and slept on the pull out bed a couple nights and thought it was a little lumpy. We loved the place and look forward to coming back for her graduation.

We have stayed a number of times at the Ilikai Hotel & Condos. Location is great with easy access to the beach and restaurants. Much more relaxing than staying in the Waikiki area but only a 15 mInute easy walk away. Condo 629 is fabulous with a great view over the Marina. The Condo is very well set up with every conceivable thing you need. Even beach chairs, towels, mats and a cooler bag. Decor is much better than shown on the website. Seems sofa and lounge have recently been recovered. Glasses and crockery look new. Only negative we found was Condo occupants are not allowed to use the beautiful hotel pool but must use an old 1960 style pool which is very crowded due to the number of Condos. Owners of the Condos should unite to update this pool and surrounds. Suggest they also negotiate with the hotel to allow their guests to pay to use the hotel pool. Sitting on the Lanai of 629 watching the sunset is something we will always remember until we return again.
Thanks for taking the time for the great review. The pool you're seeing out the window of this property is not part of the Ilikai Hotel That property was sold off to purchase the Hotel in 2006. I believe it's a Marriott property now. As such no one at the Ilikai Hotel has access to that property's facilities.
And yes, I love the sunsets from the lanai!

This was our second time staying in unit #629 as a family of four and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first! The condo was clean upon our arrival. While it is on the far west end of Waikiki, we enjoyed the quiet it provided and we were always able to walk to anywhere we wanted to go in Waikiki. The views of the sunset over the ala Wai boat harbor were awesome! We did have a little bit of trouble with high speed internet access (which didn't bother the adults at all, but the teenagers in our family were a bit dissappointed). This is not a huge unit, but for the price we paid we don't think it can be matched in value. When we come to Oahu again, we plan to stay at unit 629! Thanks so much to Rocco for working with us on our early arrival.

The whole rental process was very easy. Everything, as described, was carried out and explained thoroughly. The condo we rented was exactly as described on the website. It was very clean and comfortable. It met our expectations and our needs for our first visit to Hawaii. The location was ideal for us because it was near the beach, close to shopping & restaurants as well as the bus & trolley lines. We enjoyed eating at the Ilikai Bar & Grill (on premises) and Wailana Coffee House, which is within a short walking distance from the Ilikai. Both restaurants provided good food along with reasonable prices. As a matter of fact, we ate at both places at least 3 times each. The hotel staff is very friendly and the concierge is quite helpful in assisting with booking tours or just to offer information. The best thing about our rental was the location. The Ilikai is away from a lot of the busyness of Waikiki and the lanai on provides a beautiful view of the sunsets overlooking the marina. It was also quiet inside the condo unless the sliding glass doors were open. Usually there was music playing late into the night from somewhere nearby. The site states that #629 would sleep 4 people, but I wouldn't recommend it. It might be comfortable for a couple plus a child, but not 4 adults. Overall, we were very pleased with the condo #629.

For our 2010 stay in Rocco's condo, we were impressed with the total presentation, and of course, location. The 2010 disappointment was the noise from the construction works in the grounds of the Ilakai Hotel. Since 2010, Rocco has maintained the property by re-uphostering the lounge chairs and bed furnishings, replacing the TV and installing new window curtains. The cleanliness upon arrival could not be faulted, The ongoing renovations around the Hotel continue, and having the painters on the lanai did not distract. Unfortunately, the WiFi connecting to the Hotel service is poor (1 Mbps). Rocco should consider installing a room service (LaN at 100Mbps or WiFi at 30+ Mbps)as we have in the condo we moved to after Rocco's (to enjoy the views from the other side of the Ilakai Hotel)

Really did enjoy this Hotel and Condo although it does need a little more TLC, some upgrading and painting. The furniture has been recovered, but the indoor chairs are showing wear and tear and the walls and bathroom door need some fill and paint. The bedspread was new but the sheets need replacing as they are worn and pilly. But the bed itself was very comfortable. Some pillows had blood stains on them, was glad I brought my own pillow. The cleaning staff could do a bit better job of cleaning the bathroom and kitchen sinks and the patio sliding door sills need a good cleaning as well. But all in all for the value it was very good. Check-in was hassle free and no worrying about losing keys. The apartment itself was clean and fully equipt with everthing you would need to cook like you do at home. Loved the extra's such as tips on cheap car rentals and parking (we used these and saved a bundle) chairs and mats for the beach and sand toys for the kids. If I had to complain about anthing at all there would be only 2 things that prevented this from being absolutely perfect. 1 - the sofa bed is really uncomfortable (however we ended up putting the kids on this and taking the king bed which was very comfy & 2- water pressure in the shower was not the best and left my hair somewhat flat but all in all nothing that put a damper on our stay. We are so pleased we had taken advice from a Canadian couple we had meet in 2008 at Ala Moana Mall who recommended Aloha Condos. Parking: you have to use valet service, and $18/day might not be cheap, but boys are always there with smiles and at the end, I really do think it is worth it. I hate driving around looking for parking spots anyway. View: sunsets were so beautiful! Kitchen stuff: everything worked, and plenty of plates, mugs, utensils etc. absolutely no problem. Bed: bed was firm and nice. I wish you had different type of pillows though. They were too soft for us. Bathroom: everything worked: Maybe you might want to add a small size of soap for the sink, and leave a larger one for shower for guestsâ convenience. Keyless entry: first we had some problems locking, but once we figured it out and once we memorized the number, this was the best idea. Why anyone wants to use card key! Imagine losing the room key at the sandy beach!! We stayed for 8 nights and we needed to change sheets during our stay. I noticed you had only twin sheets sets on the selves. Maybe you should change them to Queen size, just in case of guestâs longer stay like ours.

The plastic sheet on the bed made it feel like you were in the hospital and it made the bed too hot. Bad! Also, one small bar of soap for both handwashing and shower for ten days for two people seemed pretty stingy. Other than that, we thought the keypad was fantastic - no worries about losing keys at the beach. The location was great - very central.
We are glad you had a relaxing time in our condo. We wish, however, that you had let us know about the problem with the drain. We have a local contact that is available most any time, and a very responsive plumber that would have been able to fix the drain problem very quickly.

All the party in our group are happy about the funished unit very much. The equipments are all well functioning and helpful. The futon bed was a little soft and uncomfortable to sleep on -- in comparison to a bed. WE liked the place alot.

Rental was clean and well taken care of. Cozy bed with nice sunset facing view, although a few buildings naturally get in the way. Located close to Aloha towers and chinatown. Very quite in the building and very private - no tourists mad dashing for the elevators. Owners are very attentive to your needs and respond quickly to your requests and questions. Just be aware of a few minor caveats: 1. Parking is not fun - must weave around to the 7th floor to get parking. If you don't make arrangements with owner to get a hand tag parking is very expensive. Hand tag parking only accepts cash so be prepared to shell out. Persoanlly owner should have a space in the garage and let you use it. Additionally, getting into the parking garage is a pain, so many one way streets, if you don't come straight down Bishop you are gonna be frustrated. Street noise is a problem in the morning. Bedroom needs real curtains, blinds don't keep the sun out so it is a great alarm clock in the morning. Although there is a Long's drug at the base of the building, it and most other businesses close early since you are downtown so plan ahead. The kitchen in the condo is small and slightly sparse, just a small cooktop, a microwave and a small toaster oven, but it was ok for light cooking. ONe other warning, this unit cannot really sleep 4 in my opinion. Thehre is one queen bed in the bedroom and a small swivel couch in the living room/kitchen - can't see how one person- let alone 2 could sleep in it. Fair price for what you get though and being downtown especially for business was a plus.

The property is clean and comfortable. It has great view too, but what really touched me was the flexibility of the management. When we stayed there, my Mom was a little under the weather, so I called the manager the morning of the last day of our stay to see if we can stay a little bit longer that day since our flight home was around 11pm. Luckily there was no renter the next day. He quickly arranged the cleaning person to come later on and allowed us to stay until night, so that my Mom had some good rest. We only paid $50 for this late notice request. I really appreciate that.
Very nice place

The condo was just as the photos show, a very lovely place. It was clean and pleasant. There was construction going on and it was pretty loud one day. One of the pools was not available and a couple of restaurants weren't available. Which is too bad, we would have enjoyed having a cocktail lounge on site. Hopefully the remodeling has been completed.

Great property, especially our actual condo. Very clean. Very comfortable. The only thing we missed is being in the heart of Waikiki. We bought a bus pass but sometimes I felt like we wasted time waiting for buses instead of being exactly where we wanted to be. Every night we headed for the night shopping and it felt a ways away. For the price and cleanliness and feeling like we had a home away from home, the Ilikai and this specific condo was superb.
