The unit was large enough for the four of us, but the futon was not really large enough for our 2 teenage children and it was uncomfortable. We enjoyed having the full size fridge, stove and microwave. The unit provided beach chairs and some water toys which we found useful. The lanai was large but the city noise's were loud even when the doors were shut. The king bed was a nice just a bit too hard for our liking. The unit was clean except for the bathroom door had finger prints all over the edge of it and was a bit of a turn off. We would rent here again as the amenities were good and the unit was nice, not recommended for 4 adults, 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 small children would work well.

We really loved our stay. The best thing was that the condo was comfortable and spacious. Unlike some of our friends' condos, we had loads of closet space and storage. The Ilikai is so central and convenient, the city bus is right outside the front door,as is the trolley stop. The ala Moana mall is a short walk away. The ocean beach is a short walk away. The pool is wonderful, lots of sunbathing lounges available. The worst thing was packing up and leaving.

We had a great time staying at the Ilikai Hotel Condo 2021. The location is great, and it was a home away from home. The closet was stocked many things you could use, such as an umbrella and picnic items. Explicit instructions were given on how to get there, how to access the room, and what was expected of us. Everything was very clean, and the king bed was wonderful. The furnishings were very well laid out. We also enjoyed the flat screen tv. The lanai was very nice, with a chair you could fall asleep on, and all kinds of things you could use at the beach were stored behind this chair. The full size kitchen is a plus. We went to Costo and Walmart to get groceries first thing to save money. Another thing we noticed is that you can't hear the neighbors above or on the side. Waikiki was within walking distance, as well as the post office, and the Hilton Hawaiian Towers making it very convenient. You could also walk to the ala Moana shopping center. If you don't have a car, all the trolleys and busses stopped there. The only thing I didn't like was the price of parking at the Ilikai of $25 a night. There is alternative parking in the marina at the back of the hotel, which is considerably cheaper during the week. During the weekend, you have to pay $1 an hour, which is almost the same as parking at the hotel, but you don't have to do the valet parking, which involves tipping every time you pick up your car. We had a great stay at Ilikai Condo 2021 and wouldn't hesitate to return.

The view was so much fun watching everything from the lani & the beach just a block away. Kathleen was so good at getting back to us on any questions we had she had everything so organized & made the trip worry free.

We stayed in this unit for 5 days and found it very comfortable. It has a lanai with city and mountain views that are quite beautiful with a large comfortable chair and a small dinette set. It is also nicely decorated and has most of the amenities you could need, dishes, lots of towels, hangers, beach toys. I would recommend them getting a luggage stand, otherwise had everything we would need. We parked at the Ilikai Marina Garage which is just around the corner, for $20 per day with in and out privileges, it worked out well.

Unit #2021 was exactly as we expected from the photos, if not a bit better. We found the condo to be large enough for our family of four though probably better with smaller kids. The condo had everything we could possibly need for our vacation including beach mats, boogie boards, sand toys and a cooler bag (came in very handy).

My wife and I really enjoyed staying at Ilikai 2021 from 1/10 to 2/29/12. The interior decoration of the unit was impressive and in good taste. In addition, all the amenities of the unit such as kitchen appliances/equipment, utensils, TV, living room & bedroom furnitures were excellent in quality and in working order. I believe it has to do with the owner who has good design concepts & elegant taste and the perperty manager, i.e., Hawaiian Vacation Properties LLC (Kat & Jim Petron), who put in genuine efforts to maintain the unit in a great condition. Kat and Jim were always responsive and quick to help out the tenant, which my wife and I appreciated during our recent stay at 2021. We would like to return to Ilikai next year and look forward to getting the same good services from Kat and Jim Petron.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Ilikai 2021. This studio condo was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and tastefully furnished. The kitchen was fully equipped with every sort of utensil you will ever need. The bathroom was also very nice and clean with everything we needed, bath and beach towels, hairdryers (yes, 2) and even a curling iron. We had homemade breakfast on the lanai every morning overlooking the city with the mountains in the background. The city view may not have been as pretty as an ocean view, but for the money we saved on the view, we had a couple of nice dinners by the beach. The building itself is in a great location, at the end of the Waikiki strip, away from the crowds, yet a short walk away from all the excitement. The beach and the swimming pool are right out the back door. There is a very nice, yet pricy little supermarket a short walk away, where you can purchase groceries for cooking meals in the condo or making sandwiches for the beach. We highly recommend this place for couples who don't want to settle for a mediocre hotel room. This is a really nice little condo in a well maintained high-end hotel building, a great value for your money.

I would recommend this 2021 to all our friends and family coming to Honolulu. It is very clean and nice and big with a large balcony which can be noise from travel but with the door closed at night it is very comfy. We loved that it is well equipped and so close to the beach. We will stay again when we go to Honolulu. They only thing that would be nice if you had a reading light as some like to stay up longer and as the bed is in the same room it would help. Also a set of earplugs for the TV. But we were very pleasently surprised.

My wife and I stayed here for 10 days in early December 2010. The room was large (for a studio suite) and worked well for us with the large Lanai and full kitchen. We took advantage of the folding beach chairs and even the mask and snorkels. The location is excellent, at the end of Waikiki beach, near the ala Moana marine, and a short walk to the Shopping Mall. The large sliding door to the Lanai was quite soundproof. King bed was not a fancy new pillowtop but was reasonable comfortable. Lot's of channels if you are a TV watcher.

Unit 2021 was very well presented with tasteful decor and everything you needed from a kitchen perspective. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was a great plave to retire to at the end of the day. Obvioulsy the owners of the Condo take great pride in their investment. It was excellent value for money and I rate it accordingly. Although it is on the 20th floor, road noise was apparent if the front slider was open to the deck but this wasn't a particular problem for me. It was actually interesting watching the pedestrian and city traffic below. The view while not a beach view was quite extensive over the city and the patio certainly offered a nice opportunity to kick back with a beer and relax. It had everything you needed and I highly recommend it.

My wife lived here with her daddy and our little infant for a week, and with a kitchenette they were able to live comfortably and affordably. The patio faces a beautiful view of the mountain and skyscrapers. At night a nice chill spot in their Phat couple chair. Laundromat on the floor and a place to dump trash. walk through the Hilton Village to arrive at the best beach location. The fake bay at the Hilton and near water is rocky and not nice, so just walk down a little further east. Trolly will shoot you up and down the strip to the zoo area for $2 per person.

1st time vistors from Idaho on 04/03/2010 said:
The room and location were nice. This is the first time I stayed in a Condo and I enjoyed the experience. I liked not worrying about when housekeeping needed to get in to the room. I enjoyed having the kitchen especially for breakfast. The room could use some updates (blinds/curtains worn) and the bathroom needed a vent. The only real problem we had is one late afternoon out keys didn't work. I called Aloha Mangement and they were extremely helpful and sent security to let us in the room. Unfortunately, security was not helpful. He told me I had to go to the security office to get the key reset. He gave very vague instructions how to find the security office and left. It was at the back of part of the parking garage - and involved going down multiple hallways that were not marked. I would have been very uncomfortable walking in that area if it would have been night. Since it is difficult to find I would have preferred if security would have escorted me to the correct location.
Incredible!

We stayed at one of the simple, yet fantastic Ilikai apartments and I cannot stress enough how much it enhanced our stay. The location is prime. Within walking distance there is a nearby mall with an enormous grocery, tons of shopping, restaurants - and most importantly the beach. It's easy to access from the airport with the shuttle bus (and it was the first drop off, last pick up, so we didn't spend much time commuting). When we arrived there were notes from the Aloha Condos, along with a tote bag (great for groceries and souvenirs!), and travel pamphlets about what was going on. The apartment itself was perfect and really felt like we were coming home at the end of the day. Not only that, it was outfitted with a great kitchen area, so we could purchase food and beverages rather than eating every meal out. Laundry was right down the hall and the TV and internet were simple luxuries we appreciated. Since we have returned from our trip we have told many friends about the apartment and will undoubtedly look for this or a similar property when we return back to Hawaii. Thank you for making Hawaii even more attractive for those traveling on a budget!

comfortable apartment with necessary equipment; good location and easy access to the beach. It was nice to get a call from aloha condos to see how we were doing. upon arrival we found the door locked and had to call security to open the door; keycard was inside the apartment. we were then not recognized as guests of the hotel. There was no cleaning during our stay (6 nights), although we were charged for it.
Manager response:
The doors to our condos are always locked, for safety, and the doors at the Ilikai Hotel lock automatically for safety. Instructions on how to get to and into your condo are mailed to you when your final payment is made. We also send out a reminder 10 days before arrival to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. In all of our correspondence we have contact information for our reservationist and/or owner, and also our local contact for that condo.

As guests of a private apartment you are not guests of the Hotel.

Aloha Condos offers vacation rentals for our guests and there is no daily touch-up cleaning although it can be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. The cleaning fee pays for the cleaning to be done after you leave to prepare the condo for the next guest. Included in that fee we make sure you have plenty of bedding, towels, and paper products (paper towels, toiler paper). We also have soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.

Got a great deal on the value of the Condo for the few days that we stayed. Condo is right beside the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was nice to be able to walk down to the Hilton Lagoon and use that area to access Waikiki. Don't valet the car with the building. There is public parking behind the building with really low hourly rates. Within walking distance (10min) to all Waikiki has on the main shopping strip and Waikiki Beach.. Overall, I would definitely recommend this condo and would consider staying again if I go back to Honolulu.

the room was super clean when we got there, great view of the city, and it was really nice to have our own kitchen because many of the restaurants on waikiki beach were pricy. the air conditioning was also a great feature because it was very hot while we were there. Definitely recommend this place to travellers! One thing that disappointed me was when we had to check out, my boyfriend forgot his shoes in the closet. when we came back a few hours later they were gone. We tried to phone the number given to us if we had any questions or problems and it was no longer in use. The concierge downstairs couldn't help us because it was a condo not a hotel room, so the cleaning service was privately hired. A little disappointing, but did not ruin our trip.

I took my 6 year old for a Hawaiian vacation in October and we stayed at the Ilikai in Waikiki. Suite 2021 had a huge king size bed and a lanai overlooking downtown, which was cheaper than overlooking the beach but with massive construction at the hotel next door combined with the cars on Ala Moana Blvd we found it to be quite noisy. The room itself was clean and well stocked, with beach towels and a few beach toys and a good kitchen with everything you'd need to cook up some meals. It is a short walk to the Ala Moana shopping centre with a great food court and of course lots of shopping. Walking out the rear of the hotel you first come to a wonderful lagoon with calm waters and a nice clean beach. From there you are on Waikiki beach and have access to all the surfing and shopping within a few minutes walk. I would definately recommend a stay at this hotel!

We love that the beach is just a few steps from the hotel and that the mall and the international market is just a short walk, it's very convenient and very comfortable. We had only one problem when we stayed there an that was that the oven didn't work, but I'm sure they will have that taken care of ASAP. Would most definitely recommend this condo as well as Aloha Condos!!!!
