Great location. Great view of lagoon, beach, and Hawaiian Hilton's nightly luau and Friday night fireworks display next door.
Plenty of closet space for our 3 week stay.
Plenty of room for 2 people.
Kitchen was small but quite adequate for the amount of cooking we did.
Our biggest consern was the lack of room darkening window curtains which impacted our ability to get a full and comfortable night's rest.
Perfect location for us In Honolulu

My wife and I were on a business/pleasure trip to Waikiki. In the past I have stayed at one of the hotels on Kalakaua. This time I tried something different. We rented one of the condos at the Ilikai. Great choice for us. The location was convenient to everything and was away from the crowds. The beach was close, and the pool was always well maintained and the staff pleasant. The condo has a great view of the ocean and beach and we were also entertained each night by the show at the Hilton across the street. The only addition I would like is a small table and a couple of chairs inside to eat and also a swivel on the TV so you can watch from the bed. I'll be back later this year and will stay again.

This was a very clean condo,The bed was very comfortable. The view was OK as it is not very private as the Grand Waikikian is directly across. I did not spend many waking hours in the unit.. We had friends who stayed on the marina side ,,, Much better view!! The people at front desk are not helpful at all if you are staying in the condo.
Pleasantly Pleased

We found this condo to be very clean and very comfortable for two people (any more than that it might be a bit cramped). Not the Taj Mahal, but a nice little place with most of the comforts of home and a pretty decent view. A kitchen with stocked cookware worked out well so we didn't have to go out for each meal and it had loads of storage to keep things out of site. It would have been nice though to have had a few extra linens and additional bathsoap provided. Also, the beach towels really need to be replaced as they're getting a tad thin. The only negative was the water pressure -- extremely poor. Otherwise, great place, great value, decent location to beach as long as you want to walk a bit and hotel personnel were very helpful.

Enjoy the Hilton luau every night on your own balcony, and a fantastic
view of the ocean. Oh don't forget mentioning about the Friday night fireworks.
This condo has the best location!
Only cons is the old fashion decor.
Wonderful location very comfortable unit.

My wife and I, both Seniors, stayed the full month of February. Unit very well located with great views of the lagoon and ocean. Spectacular for watching the fireworks once each week. Unit had most amenities but did not have a dining table which we missed. Good value and close to Waikiki activities but not crowded and surprisingly quiet.
Wonderful

The location of the condo is excellent . . not far from the beach . . the condo was very nice, small, but had everything you need . . had a great view of the ocean and the lagoon. If I had anything to complain about, it would have to be that their pillows need to be replaced . . they were pretty flat and not comfortable and most king size beds come with several pillows as opposed to two king size pillows . . us girls like lots of pillows . . the hotels provide 6 regular pillows on a king size bed.

The condo is the perfect location for beaching, shopping or dining in Waikiki Beach! The unit was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed the keyless entry/door code. The fireworks on Friday evening were spectacular! We would stay here again if we return to Waikiki.

My wife and I recently stayed 5 nights at Ilikai Hotel Condo#1938. It was just as promised from the ads. I arrived just after 2:30pm and use the code to enter the unit. The views from the balcony look just like this picture. I took one and posted on my Facebook page.
We enjoyed our time here as this was my 3rd time in 2 years at the Ilikai. While it is not directly on the beach, its a short 5 minute walk from the hotel lobby to Ft. DeRussey beach. Which is another 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach. We could have stayed at hotels near or on Waikiki beach, but neither of us desire the crowds both on the beach or on the streets around Waikiki.
The Ilikai is one of those wonderful hideaways location that is close to everything but far enough away to be more peaceful. They have a great bar & grill run by Patti, who makes everyone feel welcome and wanted. The pool is heated and has adult only hours in the morning if you wish to do some lap swimming. Buses are plentiful outside if you desire to explore Honolulu. I would suggest the Red, Green or Pink line trolley's. They are a Hop On/Hop Off bus that gives you a great view of Honolulu.
Using the Honolulu bus system is easy. We took the #22 bus, just off Kuhio & Ali Moana to Hanauma Bay to snorkle. U don't need any equipment as it can all be rented but there is a $7.50 entrance fee, well worth the price. Last time I snorkled here was in the summer of 74 and it hasn't changed much in my mind.
Our only issue's with the #1938 is that the shower has weak water pressure(but very hot water) and the drawers in the kitchen are somewhat sticky and don't pull out well. These are minor issue's but overall we will come back here to rent, which should be next Thanksgiving, 2012 before the world ends, so they say.

The room was very clean and well stocked but it's not really a one bedroom as it only has a rice paper sliding wall to shut the bedroom of. The view was amazing and the ease of not having to have a key was nice. The decor is quite dated but that wasn't a problem as the unit is very clean and comfortable.
Wonderful!

Our stay was very enjoyable. The condo was clean and well equipped and extremely quiet. Compared to most hotel rooms, there is a lot of hanging and storage space, together with a full kitchen. Good view of the Friday night fireworks and, of course, the lagoon. Great location at quieter end of beach.

I recently spent five nights at the Ilikai and thoroughly enjoyed by stay. The apartment is a bit small for 4 people but being a solo traveler it was perfect. The balcony provides an excellent view of the ocean and Hilton lagoon, ideal for watching the Friday fireworks. Beach chairs and a cooler were also provided to make the daily trips to the beach easy. The keyless entry was also a bonus so no worrying about losing keys. I would definately recommend and hope to stay at the Ilikai again.

Spent a few days with a buddy while we were doing a military history tour on the island. This was the perfect spot in Waikiki - close to beach, restaurants/bars, shops, museums, and entertainment. Condo was clean and very comfortable. This was a great value for the money and I'd stay here again whether it was with my family or friends.

We stayed in Condo 1938 last week. It was perfect accomodations for our family of 4. We loved the view of the ocean & lagoon, as well as being able to see Hhv's luau show. There were no problems with noise inside the unit . . . never heard anyone thru the neighboring walls or when the lanai doors were shut. Everything was clean, we had plenty of bathroom towels for our 5 night stay, and there were an abundance of hangars & shelves in the closet. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. Made a quick trip to Walmart upon our arrival so we could make breakfasts & lunches in the unit. There was a great selection of beach supplies on the lanai, but we never ended up using them. Just nice to know they were there if we needed them. Never used the pool so can't really say much about it other than it looked pretty small. We would definitely recommend this unit to others!!

Although the condo is a single room, it actually felt quite large for 2 of us staying over 10 days. The patio is large with an ocean view. The bedroom can be separated by screens, the kitchen is small but workable, clean. Great location - right next to Hawaiian Village and easy walk to the beach. Would deifnitely stay again.
Restful stay with an awesome view!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hawaii and staying in unit 1938 made it perfect! We loved sitting on the lanai in the morning, drinking our coffee and watching the waves roll in. In the evenings we really enjoyed the hula show from the Hilton, just across the way! It was great watching it and we loved the Hawaiian music! The beach was just a short walk and we really appreciated the use of the beach chairs, cooler and umbrella! We have stayed in many vacation condo's through the years and 1938 was one of the nicest and well equipped condo we have ever stayed in!
Great condo and location.

We very much enjoyed staying in this clean, stylishly decorated and comfortable condo with a view of the water. The owner has provided extras like beach chairs, mats, an umbrella and a cooler for trips to the beach. The sandy beach in front of Fort DeRussy beach is a short walk away or you can swim in Hilton Lagoon. Valet parking is an extra $22 per day, but worth the convenience. The location is in Waikiki and convenient to the nightly attractions including the hula show at the Hilton Hawaiian Village next door which can be heard and seen from the deck of the condo.
We had a great stay at condo 1938.

We had a great stay at condo 1938, which we found to be very comfortable, clean, functional, with a nice view and convenient location in Waikiki, Honolulu. We have two minor comments/suggestions: wireless connection was intermittent and it would be great to have a rack fro drying towels/bathing suites (maybe foldable one on the deck). If we ever go back to O'ahu, this will be our choice for accommodation.
Enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great for families with little kids, because of its proximity to the lagoon. Our 3-year-old son had to share the bed with us, because the pull-out couch was too uncomfortable (and there was really no bedding for it), but other than that, we had no complaints.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. This condo has bedding for both the king size bed and the full size sofa bed. Sofa bed linen is stored in the closet. I am very sorry that you were not able to find it. All of our guests are provided with a Local Contact phone number (posted on the door, in the instructions, and a business card is placed on the table before arrival) who is available to assist with any questions or concerns. Had you called we would have been happy to have helped you find the bedding.
