1-Bedroom 1-Bath Beach View Condo - Sleeps 4
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Everything was clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The view was amazing. The unit had everything required for a relaxing holiday. We can't wait to stay there again on our next trip to Hawaii.
We stayed her for a week in September. I think the absolute best thing about this condo is its location. You are near the bus & trolley routes, the ala Moana Shopping Center, the beach, Hilton Hawaiian Village (including the fireworks show & luau that you can see from the balcony) and several other restaurants and shops across the street (including groceries). For this alone, it is worth the stay. Not to mention they do have a very nicely stocked kitchen (coffee maker, pots & pans, rice cooker, blender - the works). And they have provided tons of beach items (towels, boogie boards, chairs, snorkel masks). All this is great! And the balcony views of the beach, lagoon, fireworks and everything just add to the charm of the condo. I sort of hesitated writing a review for awhile because, while I did like the place I found that it had a few things that I think could really use improving. The first is the air conditioning. If you like aC, this isn't the condo for you. The aC is stuck in the corner next to the couch and it blows coolish air, not cold. It will not make the condo cool, it just blows slightly cooler air. I think this is in part because of the location of the aC and that it seemed like it needed serviced. When we were there the average temp outside was 91 and I think maybe the aC cooled it down 10 degrees, so it was still pretty hot to sleep (and I can't sleep with the doors open). So for us, this was a big negative. We also didn't care for the TV. In fact this place might as well say it doesn't have aC or TV because neither really work. The TV is ancient, tiny and has a terrible picture. Oh, and the remote doesn't work! They replaced the remote with one that really doesn't operate the TV - you need to hit every button 4-5 times and maybe, just maybe you will get the channel changed. You may not come to Hawaii to watch TV, but I would have liked it at night to wind down. It is a good location and it was good stay, but it does have a few flaws.
Love this place, away from the crowds but only a pink trolley ride away from Waikiki , resturant amazing and good prices, it's not five star, but I would stay here again.
What a wonderful holiday.
We stayed at Ilikai Hotel Condo 1540 for a total of 5 weeks and had a wonderful holiday. The condo was everything we hoped for and more.Very well equipped with everything we needed, I cant think of anything that was not provided. The view was outstanding and the perfect location to watch the fireworks every tuesday and friday. The interim cleaning kept the condo spotless.I don't want to praise it any more in case we can't get in next year.
The minute we walked into the condo, it exceeded our expectations. The view from the lanai alone was worth it! very clean and comfortable. The king size bed was great. Kitchen fully stocked. We used many of the appliances since we prepared food quite a bit to save money. All the beach items came in very handy. The grounds of the resort are lovely as well. We would love to come back to this condo again! And definatley recommend it to anyone!
Illikai Hotel Condo 1540
My wife and I travel to hi every 2 years and usually we stay in a hotel. This time I made the decision to try a condo. 1540 was everything we expected plus. The view in the morning and evening from the lanai will always be a fond memory in our minds. It was great to have breakfast in the morning without worrying about maid service knocking on the door. We saved alot of money by eating in our condo versus the restaurant scene. However, we did enjoy Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings, Outback, and Kobe within 50-100 yards of our lobby entrance. We did have a rental car for the entire 2 weeks and it was not that challenging to find parking behind the Illikai. We got by for $12 a day for 12 of our 14 days.
Great Stay & Value at Condo 1540!
Being a property manager on the Big Island of Hawaii, I'm sort of picky ~ and I was so pleased when we walked into this condo. Very clean, nice furnishings, and a fantastic view of the lagoon and ocean from the lanai. I will be staying here again in the future and have already passed on their information to my friends and family. Thanks Hans & Daljeet for sharing your piece of paradise with us.
Wonderful anniversary Vacation
We stayed at Ilikai Hotel Condo 1540 for our 5 year anniversary at the end of april. The unit was wonderful and very clean. The view from the lanai was fantastic! The condo was equipped with everything we could need. We loved having the beach chairs, beach mats, coolers, snorkel gear, beach towels and even ice packs available for our use. We cooked breakfast every morning and ate on the lanai. You couldn't ask for a better place to have breakfast and a morning mimosa! The kitchen is very small, but extremely well equipped. It had everything that we needed to make breakfast and dinner. The room was plenty big for the two of us and we loved being able to open the big over-sized patio doors and feel like we were outside. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of closet space for our things. I would have given the room a 5 star rating if we had been pleased with the air conditioner. We really only used the air conditioning at night, but it didn't cool the room off very well. We were instructed to not set the temperature below 72 degrees, so we didn't, however I don't think the room ever really got very cool. Maybe it just needs to be serviced. Also, there isn't any water pressure in the bathroom sink (hot water), the shower is fine, but the sink isn't. Other than these small issues, the room was wonderful, the location was really nice. The walkway from the hotel takes you right to the beach. You could easily walk to all the restaurants, shopping and beach walk. I think the parking at the hotel (valet) is quite expensive. After the first couple of days we checked into the parking behind the hotel by the marina and that was much more reasonable. I thought that the key pad entry was very nice, no need to worry about a key. I would definitely recommend this unit to friends and family. It was a great place to stay. Thank you Hans and Daljeet for letting us use your home, we had a great time! Michael & Lynn
Wonderful Hawaiian Feel !!!
We were very impressed with how easy the booking & check in was. The owners gave us such detailed information on everything we needed to know about our condo. We were thrilled with where our condo was located and we watched the fireworks from our lanai on Friday night. What a treat. The location was awesome and Snappers across the street was highly recommended by friends who had just recently returned from staying at another Condo in the Ilikai. The Mai Tai's and Happy hour are 2nd to none. The bed was very comfortable shower great. We went for a walk on the ocean in the evening and listened to live music at two locations. We brought 2 friends that had not been to Hawaii before and they loved the feel and look of the Hotel. We would positively stay in room 1540 again.
Pretty condo with super view
We were happy with our condo..comfortable, good kitchen with everything we needed, great bathroom, comfy bed, etc. The hotel's pool isn't huge but nice enough..the open hours should be longer until at least 9pm. If you like long beaches, and want a safe place to swim for youngsters, (lagoon is perfect!), lots of stores and restaurants then this place is for you. The restaurant/bar is quite nice and much cheaper than many of the other hotels in the area, (Hilton next door has very high prices.)I've only been once to Waikiki, staying on the other end that time and I prefer the other end because it seemed less ritzy and busy and had better views of the countryside..Diamond Head etc. I was not pleased at having to spend $28 a day for valet service plus tips, (it was run fine though.) Parking in that area is at a premium and with lots of baggage not a good option. Also the cleaning fee seemed high for basically 3 nights.
Our family of four stayed here for 2 weeks, our first trip to Hawaii. Having morning coffee, watching the ocean on lanai and watching the fireworks every friday was great. The location was perfect, we used the bus to get around everywhere and took some tours, quiet and close enough to the ala Moana Shopping where we picked up groceries as needed. Overall the condo worked for us. Our kids are ages 15 and 11 so the pullout sofa was too small for both but luckily there was an airbed we also used. It was ok, we did confirm that the pull out was a queen before booking and when we arrived it was not. There was plenty of room for all of us and our stuff. Having the kitchen was great. We slept with the patio doors open every night, listening to the waterfalls from the Hilton next door. Would consider staying again ,would have to try to make the kids a bit more comfortable because 2 weeks. Loved Hawaii!
Fantastic vacation condo with everything you need
This was our second stay and everything was great. Great view, quiet location, all the amenities one needs. Kitchen fully stocked, plenty of beach items, perfect location to watch Friday night fireworks. I liked the entry code so you Dont have to carry a key with you. Couldnt ask for anything better.
so relaxing and comfortable with everything you need.
Very clean and homey condo. The location was fantastic. All the cooking utensils available, beach chairs, boogie boards beach towels etc. We are recommending this condo to our friends..we will certainly return.
Loved the stunning views of lagoon and beach from the lanai
We recently spent 4 nights at condo 1540 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Condo was clean and comfortable, with well equipped kitchen. Beach towels, chairs, and various beach equipment was also provided. Best feature was the view of the lagoon and beach from the lanai. This was stunning and it was great to wake up to this view each morning. Lanai was the ideal place for having breakfast and also for watching firework display which takes place every Friday evening. Condo is located at the start of Waikki beach, which we preferred as beach was much quieter. Short walking distance to main part of Waikki , Ala Moana shopping centre and various other shops and restaurants. Shuttles, trolley and buses stop outside hotel, which is ideal if you want to explore Honolulu. During our stay we booked excursions to Pearl Harbour and Paradise Cove Luau, bus picked us up and dropped us off again at front door of hotel. Both excursions were brilliant and we would strongly recommend them. Our only complaint was that we didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted to do. If we ever get the chance to visit Honolulu again we will definitely stay here and for a longer period of time.
it was ok
the condo was clean, the bed was hard and good, tv old and impossible to watch when lying on bed, unit was smaller as our impression from the photos awesome view at the lagoon. Condo was still pest sprayed after I complained against this.
Good value for dollar for on the beach location
This hotel was originally featured in the original Hawaii-50 t.v. series, from the 1960s, in the opening t..v. credits. This is a good value for dollar hotel condo. The common spaces of the condo have all been updated and upgraded. Suite 1540 is a basic and comfortable rental suite. It could use some basic upgrading: improve kitchen layout, upgrade to a plasma screen t.v., bathroom tiles need updating, but otherwise is very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is very small and tight; only one person can be in the space at one time. We stayed here for 3 1/2 weeks and really enjoyed the ocean views from bed and the balconey. The kitchen is fully outfitted so you can save on money eating out for all meals. There is a Safeway 2 miles away and Wal-Mart 1 mile away for easy shopping access. The location is very near ala Moana Shopping centre, which is the main bus depot hub if you want to take the bus all over the island of O'ahu. This really is a studio apartment, not a one bedroom apt. They have a Japanese screen divider between the bed and sofa but you can hear everything. Only 2 adults can stay here comfortably since it is a 600 square foot condo. Any more than that would feel claustrophobic. Every evening, you overlook the Hawaiian Hilton Village's luau presentation from 5:00 - 8:00 with Polynesian dancing and singing which can be loud. They do finish at 8:00 though. You get a perfect view or the fireworks every Friday night overlooking the Hawaiian Hilton village lagoon (next door). The owners have all kinds of beach gear for all to use: boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, etc... This is a basic place to stay; not a Hilton Hotel or Marriott but it was good value for dollar. We made an arrangement with the owners that we would do the condo cleaning during the 3 weeks, saving us two payments of $125 cleaning service fee. We did have to pay the $125 cleaning fee on check out so this place is best for those staying for one week or more; otherwise a hotel may be cheaper to avoid paying the cleaning fee. There is laundry on each floor for $2.50 per load. There is cable internet in the suite. Bring or buy your own toilet paper for stays more than 4 days; the give you a basic introductory shampoo/ soap/ toilet paper set for 4 days stay. After that, you have to buy your own. Walmart is near by behind ala Moana shopping centre and fairly cheap.
wow what a view
Really beautiful view from condo #1540. Great to have beach chairs, mats and other items to use during our stay..we bought the four day bus pass right away, so we were able to get to waikiki and other places easy as the bus stop is right in front...thank you so much for your wonderful rental..my cousin who is from Finland and went with me, was so pleased to eat right from our lani with such a great view. Thanks again, Carol Lindbloom and Mirva MakiRammo
Beautiful views, convenient location and everything you need for
Thourougly enjoyed our stay,I personally like this end of town as opposed to the hype of the centre of town. The bus and tram stops right outside the front door for an easy ride into the city centre and the ala Moana Shopping Centre is an easy walk. The Unit is well equipped for all your needs and I like the added security of a pin number to enter and not having the worry of a key or card to get into the Unit. Try the Bar across the road next to National Car Hire, reasonable prices and a great place to meet the locals. Would stay here again if we visited Hawaii, the added bonus is that the Hawaiian Hilton is just next door and you can watch the Luau from the Lanai and you can also use the facilities at the Hilton if you require no questions asked.
I want to go back!
My husband and I just returned from 15 wonderful days at the condo. We spent every morning having breakfast on the lanai and enjoying the beautiful ocean view. We never had to use the air conditioning as we had the sliding door open to listen to the sounds of Hawaii. The condo is very clean and has a very comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, free internet, nice couch and tv. Plenty of roomfor two. The Ilikai is away from the busy Waikiki area, but close enough to walk to if you so desire. The rental ande check in process was very easy. We had such a great time and enjoyed every minute at the condo celebrating our 25th anniversary.
Can't wait to come back!!
My husband and I stayed at this condo for 6 days/5 nights. We loved everything about it. The home was equipped with everything one would need. We enjoyed saving money and time by making breakfast and coffee everyday; we loved that all beach items were in the condo (towels, body boards, chairs, sunscreen, and even a couple soft coolers which we loved to use to bring our own food/water down to the beach); and we really liked the binder full of Hawaiian tips and information about local things to see/do. The home was the perfect space for us two and we loved the location! It was close to everything we wanted to do and to catch a bus was just minutes away. We loved the view from the lanai and especially sleeping with the patio doors wide open...no need to even use the a/c :). Honestly, there wasn't one thing we didn't like about our stay here at the Ilikai and we can't wait to come back someday!
We loved the view and location
The condo could use some fresh paint and a lighter colour. The appearance is a bit gloomy.
Wonderful place to stay for a family vacation!
My family and I liked this place because of its cleanliness and cozy environment. Its location also is wonderful: walking distance to the beach, it is 1 mile to the Waikiki beach, it is by the Hilton hotel where you can see the fireworks on Fridays very closely, easy access to other places and highways. The condo 1540 has secure Internet access. The kitchen has everything. It also has beach chairs and a few beach toys which may kids liked a lot... Everything was great for our stay. Thank you.
Thank you for following up. We had a lovely time and will recommend your lovely condo to all our friends. My only concern is that the vcr / video machine was not working and had asked our contact person if she knew how to operate or fix it and unfortunately was not able to assist. We really did not miss it; however, it would have come in handy for the kids to unwind and get cozy before bedtime. Nevertheless, we had a great time and would love to visit again. Thank you!
Pleasant and quite
Cleaning fee a little to high for the small amount of time we were there.
You know how you're always skeptical when you book something online? Well, condo 1540 was everything that was promised and more! The view was incredible, there was plenty of room, the beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient. We didn't have a car but we didn't need one. We either walked or took TheBus. The staff at the Ilikai was very helpful. It was nice to have the restaurants and convenient store on site as well. Will definitely recommend and if we're ever lucky enough to come again will stay here!
Very clean & well equipped, quiet location in great hotel
Was exactly as advertised. Booking and billing as promised. Kitchen especially well equipped and comfortable king bed. Large lanai with table and chairs. The outdoor patio on the hotel ground floor overlooking the marina and sunset torchlighting is especially nice. Didn't use the pool as we prefer the beach in front of the Hilton. Can sleep 4 but would be cramped with all adults. Minor problem with icemaker which was fixed same day. Much quieter than the other end of Waikiki.
Wonderful condo - Ilikai 1540 - what a view!
We loved everything about the condo! It was very spacious, immaculately clean and fully equipped, but the view from the lanai was the best! We appreciated your sharing your beach chairs and towels with us. Fireworks over the beach the night we arrived were easily seen from the lanai. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
We found everything really great, the view is outstanding and eveything in the condo is very nice. We where able to watch the fire works from the Hilton from on the Lanai. We used the kitchen everyday for at least one meal which made it very economical. The condo was nice and clean and we had everything we needed. It was a plus that there where bugey boards for us to use in the ocean. The only draw back was the need to ungrade the bathroom towels, its not that they where not clean, but many had stains that obviously did not come out and they really where not very soft anymore. Besides that we loved the condo and have every intention of renting it again for our next trip.
Excellent condo, very satisfied with our stay!
We recently stayed at 1540 - this place is fantastic! Very nice decor, clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. We had a 1 year old baby with us and it was so convenient to be able to use blender to make fresh fruit purees for her. There are beach chairs, mats, beach towels, coolers, boogie boards and even sand toys for kids. The bed and couch were very comfy, lots of pillows. The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels to use. Ladies, there is a hair dryer, so no need to bring one! The view is amazing, you can see the lagoon and the ocean from your bed. They have a big table on the lanai with 4 chairs - nice for morning coffees. It's like living the dream in the paradise. Thanks to Owners for sharing their beautiful place with us.
Good location and great view
The Ilikai is an older property in a great location between the yacht harbor and the Hawaiian Village. The condo is well stocked and very comfortable. It has a full newly remodeled kitchen, updated bath and comforatble king bed. There are indoor and outdoor eating areas and a comfortable sofa in front of a flat screen tv. The best part about the unit is the view of the ocean and the lagoon (wow) and that it has afternoon shade on the unit which was great. The unit is located near the end of the wing so it has little street noise. The only negatives are that the aC is the older kind and was fairly noisy and the unit could have used a ceiling fan. The aC does not blow directly on the bed so sleeping with it on was not uncomfortable. Great value and location.
A fabulous time was had by my family! We never needed to contact Hans or Kat, we were given all the information we needed before we arrived. The condo was just as it was represented. Quite nice. My daughter slept on the sofa bed, she added the foam padding from the closet and slept well. The view was so nice, we watched the surfers every morning while having coffee on the lanai. We had breakfast in the condo every day. The location is at the beginning of Waikiki. For us, the location was better than the middle of Waikiki. The beach is larger and less crowded -- no umbrellas in the way either! We did go to the main area of Waikiki for our daughter to surf, better for new surfers. We had a rental car and parked in valet at the Ilikai, the easiest thing to do. It was $25 per day, in and out as you please. Really, quite a deal when you think of how much money you save over a hotel in the middle of Waikiki! I used to live on Oahu so we had to drive all over the island so I could reminisce, such a beautiful place!! We didn't see much of the luau at the Hilton, not impressed, really, a luau on a roof! Go to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a great show. Didn't watch their luau either, was busy eating, but, the show afterward is really good. Wonderful place to stay.
Each day was the best day ever
3 adults 1 toddler and unit 1540 was the ideal spot for our Hawaiian vacation. The location, the unit, the hotel, the view, and the nice extras were all part of a formula for a vacation in which each day was the best day ever. The kitchen was nicely supplied, there were plenty of towels for showers, the extra blankets and plentiful supply of pillows made a very nice pallet for the toddler. We enjoyed our breakfast on the balcony and loved the up close view of the Friday fireworks. The hotel gym, shops, general store, and restaurants were a convenient touch and came in handy. The hotel is within walking distance of a nice supermarket, bus stops, package stores, restaurants, Ala Moana mall, and ala Moana park (which became one of our favorite spots to visit). The only suggestions I would make is to add plexi-glass to the railings of the balcony to make it a bit more child friendly and to rearrange the furniture to allow the air con to run more efficiently. Nonetheless, I will recommend unit 1540 to anyone I know that may be heading to the Island. Thank you for an incredible memory.
Great accomodations, great view, very comfortable, quiet, great kitchen and all supplies. Could not have asked for anything better. Perfect spot for viewing ocean, downtown skyline. and Friday night fireworks. Same spot in a hotel would have been much more expensive.
Could not have been any better.
What can I say about this condo... Everything was perfect. Everything when smoothly from booking to the end when unfortunately we had to go home. The condo was our home away from home. The condo was clean, beautifully decorated, had all the amenities one would need. The view from the lanai was spectacular and is the best place to watch the fireworks on Friday nights. I got many wonderful pictures / memories from that lanai. My wife loves to shop,so the proximity to the ala Moana Shopping Center was very advantageous. Many fine restaurants within walking distance like the Chart House. Having the full kitchen was great. We cooked and ate most of our breakfasts in the condo. Slipping coffee and eating breakfast on the lanai was the thing to do. We were able to purchase (at great prices) fresh fruits, breads, cookies, loaves, quiche, salads, etc twice a week right down in the courtyard area of the Ilikai. What they did not have the aBC Superette (carries more than a regular aBC store)is just down the block and across the street. I can not say anything bad about the condo. It not only met our expectations, but it exceeded them. When we go back, we will definitely be booking this condo again.
Paradise at the Ilikai
My son and I stayed here for a week and have nothing but good things to say. The value was fantastic and the view in the thumbnail is absolutely as you will see the beach and lagoon! The apartment is a little cramped with the fold out bed set up but other than that, it was ideal for us and is comfortably furnished with plenty of pillows and blankets etc. It was a nice touch having towels for the beach and pool as well. We would definitely stay here again if in the locale.
nice ocean and fireworks view!
We stayed here from May 26 to June 1. On May 27, it's an aloha Friday, and in the nighttime, we invited some friends and had dinner, around 19:30, fireworks was seen in front of us! enjoyed very much.
May 17th through May 23rd. I took my 14 and 18 year old daughters and we stayed in unit 1540. From the moment we walked through the door and hit the lanai we were in love with the place. The view is even better then pictures can provide. The Condo has everything you need from towels, hand soap, toilet paper, iron, hair dryer, to a fully stocked kitchen, which was gorgeous. The bed was a King size with nice linens and lots of pillows, the couch was comfy and the décor was really cute. We also had pool towels, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and beach chairs The unit is located in a fabulous location so close to everything we needed. Plus it's very Quiet inside, we were not bothered by anyone. Waikiki Beach is just right outside and after walking down Waikiki, believe its the nicest part of the beach. We did not rent a car and found many things were in walking distance and the convenience of shuttles, and bus's and trolleys right out front was great. The aBC stores are right there for a quick pick up of things, but there is a Wal-Mart behind the Mall as well as a Foodland where you can get groceries. They also have a Costco and a Safeway all within a short distance from the Ilikai all huge cost savers. It was so worth the trip out to the flea market held at the aloha Bowl. There is a Trolley that will take you to and from; it has really great deals on trinkets and treasures, clothes, jewelry and even local fruits and vegetables. The birds eye view from the lanai gives you access to a rooftop luau at the Hilton and a amazing view of the fireworks held right on the beach in front of you on Fridays. I will come back and book this condo again. Everything was clean, Kat and Hans were super to work with and things couldn't have gone smoother. Thanks for the great time and helping me give my senior a graduation present she will always remember!
We stayed in room 1540 at the Ilikai april 20-25, 2011. The hotel is an older hotel & not as fancy as some of the newer ones, but it was still nice & the location is great. Room 1540 was decorated very nice, was clean, & had a spectacular view of the lagoon and ocean. We got a great deal on the room. The Ilikai is very affordable compared to "resort" type places. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, & a cooler in the room for us to use. Full kitchen which is great if you want to be able to cook while you are staying there. There were plenty of elevators, no we never got stuck waiting to long to get to our room. If you walk down the ramp at the rear of the hotel, it only takes you right to the lagoon & then you are only steps away from the ocean. The lagoon is perfect if you want to lounge on an airmattress or have small kids since the water is calm. This part of Waikiki has a much larger beach than other parts. There is a fireworks show every Friday evening. They are let off from the beach between the lagoon and ocean. There was a Mc Donalds & ABC Superette right across the street from the front of the hotel. There are so many shops & restaurants in this area to pick from. We had dinner at Sarento's at the top of the Ilikai & the food & service were superb. It was only a few blocks to walk to the alamoana Shopping Center that had every kind of store you could think of. We rented a car from Thrifty which was a couple blocks away (was much cheaper than the rental car companies across the street from the hotel) on Easter & drove around the island. We went to the Bydo-In Temple which is beautiful & to the North Shore. I would definately recommend this room and hotel to someone coming to Oahu that wants a nice place to stay without all the cost of staying in a fancy resort.
one of the best places we have stayed
everything was wonderfull except there was no service becauseit was a condo -we had to buy tiolet -paper and we would have prefered a safe in the room
Penelope Bronger - excellent
My husband and I stayed two weeks. We went to Honolulu to celebrate my husband's 84th birthday. Our stay at 1540 was memorable. The condo was clean and the cleaning staff efficient. We talked several times with Kat Petron and she was friendly and efficient. If we had a question for her she responded immediately. It is our wish to stay again at 1540. Thank you for your enquiry re our stay. Penelope Bronger
Relaxing time on Waikiki Beach
We really enjoyed our stay in this unit. Nice view and good eminities. All of the comforts of home with a great view. Loved Sarento's Restaurant on the top floor. Our only complaint is that the tenants below us smoked on the lanai even though it was prohibited. We called security but got no results. We have had the same problem in other units at the Ilikai. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely rent this unit again.
Beautiful view of ocean!
We stayed for 4 nights and the condo was everything we needed. The view was great and it was wonderful having a coffee in the morning with an ocean view. There was information left for us tourist such as maps and brochures. There was even a beach bag to tote our things which was incredibly useful and we really appreciated! We didn't use the boogie boards or beach things, but everthing is there that you could need without having to rent or purchase. The location is fantastic with restaurants nearby and the aBC store for grocery or snack items. It is an easy walk to the Waikiki strip for the action. The valet parking was expensive but very convenient! The unit was nice and very clean. I would highly recommend a stay in this unit.
we had such a great time and the facilities were great lots of extras such as condiments in the kitchen beach toys to use out on the lanai dvds and so much more
Lovely Unit well positioned for all the fun.
Our condo was lovely and give great views of the lagoon and ocean. Could not have had a better view of the fireworks and the luau at the hilton. Closeness to Waikiki and the shopping centre made this the greatest choice for us and the public parking at the rear made it cheaper to have a car at our disposal. Thanks for the opportunity to rent your lovely condo and we hope to return soon.
Perfect Beachfront Location
Our stay at the Ilikai Condo 1540 was fantastic. The owner and the staff at Aloha Condos were extremely helpful. The unit was great for our family (2 adults, 2 children age 5,9). Very clean, modern and all the things you need (and more). We had the most amazing view which overlooks the lagoon and beach. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii. Thank you!
My family stayed this condo for three nights. Overall, I am really satisfied with every detail of the unit. The unit was well-prepared when we arrived and it was updated and modern.
Great place for families with kids
We stayed at the condo with our two young children and had a wonderful time. The place was nice and clean and the location was close to everything. There's a fabulous mall less than a mile from the condo with a Foodland (grocery store) where we got all of our groceries. It was great having a full kitchen, especially when you are traveling with kids and not having to go out to eat all the time. There's a lagoon right next to the beach and the water is calm there for small children. We had a good view of the ocean from the balcony and had breakfast out there every morning. The sleeping arrangement worked out well with the kids sleeping on the brand new sofa bed and we took the king bed in the bedroom which is separated by three large japanese style screens. Great place to stay!
This condo was perfect for us (2 adults and 11month old). The view is amazing! We watched the Hilton fireworks on Friday night right from our lanai. It is close to shopping and the beach is steps away. I would totally recommend this condo and will stay here again.
Well appointed condo. Nice view. Smokers in other condos on our floor fouled the air. We reported them to security, but the smoke continued. Some people are so inconsiderate. Otherwise, a very nice stay.
Aloha Mrs. Wonderful! Mahalo for staying with us! We're sorry to hear about your experience with the smokers in the other units. Please note that unit 1540 is a non-smoking unit. The Ilikai's common areas and all lanais are also smoke free. Thank you for calling security! Mahalo also for your feedback! Cheers, Hans & Daljeet
lovely view of lagoon and water
My husband and I and our 2 teenage children stayed here for 5 nights. The one fault we found was that the sofa bed was broken and we had to use an air mattress which took up a lot of room and made the condo look very small. It was clean and the view off the balcony was very nice. We loved the Ilikai Hotel and we were within walking distance of the Aloa Moana shopping complex. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Aloha Gazza! Thank you for staying with us! We sincerely apologize about the sofa. Unfortunately, due to the remoteness of the islands, it took longer than than we expected for the custom ordered replacement sofa to arrive; the Serta air mattress that we put in the unit was a temporary solution until the sofa arrived. We now have a brand new sleeper sofa in the unit! Thank you for your feedback! Cheers, Hans & Daljeet
Reasonable price, but too small for more than 2 people.
We had friends stay in the same condos, but they had a much nicer model. This condo had a very old couch/bed that was broken and needed upgrading.
Aloha Taylor! Mahalo for staying with us, and we're sorry to hear about your experience with the unit. Please note that all of the one-bedroom condos at the Ilikai are the same size. The condo is our home away from home (we are a family of four), and was fully renovated less than five years ago. We have replaced the sofa with a brand new sleeper sofa. Mahalo for your feedback! Cheers, Hans & Daljeet
The view was beautiful, the condo was nice but the pull out did
The condo had a great location and view. Overall it was clean and neat except for the couch which was very worn and did not fit the rest of the condo. The real issue came when it was time to go to sleep. It was a one bedroom with a pull out couch. Since it was me and my brother there for a wedding we really needed the couch and it would not open. After spending the first 2 nights sleeping on the couch, which was beyond old we found an air mattress and he used that the rest of the week. This condo said it slept 4 and if you went there with 4 in mind you would have been disappointed. If you were a party of 2 sharing the bed I would highly recommend. The location, the view, the overall look and feel of the lobby were great.
Aloha drewmiester! Mahalo for staying with us. We sincerely apologize for the sofa. a good tour
good tour,good condo
we enjoyed our stay at the condo. The ad on the site stated a queen bed and a bed setee. when we arrived and tried to use the bed settee --it was broken. We eventually got the bed settee pulled out but could not retract it ,therefore it became an issue during the day for space ..we discovered a blowup bed in the closet a few days later . this was comfy but took up a lot of room . If we deflated it every morning then we had to blow it up every night .. We wish we had been told about this before we arrived or when we arrived and did not have the hassle of finding it out for ourselves. Everything else was good and if the settee was fixed --would recommend this condo. Liked the view and location .
Aloha Jill! Mahalo for staying with us! We sincerely apologize for the sofa. Nice Room, Clean, Close to the Action
We had a nice 6 day stay at this condo in May. The Ilikai hotel building itself is a little outdated, and I'm used to staying at nicer hotels (Westins are usually the standard), but when I entered the condo itself I was pleased. It was updated, clean, and had a nice view. The couch was a little beat up, but no big deal. We really liked having a kitchenette in the room since we had a 2 year old and a newborn, and eating breakfasts and lunch in the condo was much easier than eating out each day. We parked at the Marina Parking garage across the street...which was a little inconvenient but not too bad ($20 or so per day). It was about a 10 minute walk to get down to the beach which was really cool. About the only draw back was the fact that we overlooked the Hilton's lagoon pool, with waterslides and such, and I was extremely jealous because the Ilikai's pool was pretty basic. Other than that, it was a nice stay and a good deal.
Very pleasant stay!
Studio apartment was very adequate for two adults -- nice partial ocean view, comfy king-sized bed; full kitchen including full-size frig, stove with oven, & generous supply of dishes & cook/bake-ware. Metered and pay-and-display parking is handy about a 1-minute walk out the back door for 25-cents per hour (free for handicapped, if you call and ask the parking company) or Ilikai has a valet garage (more expensive). Nice location for restaurants. Easy walk to main part of Waikiki Beach (beach towels provided). We already plan to stay there, if possible, when we go again (military son stationed on Oahu). You can even watch the Hilton Luau from the balcony (Hilton is almost next door). Closet was "divided" so difficult to hang dresses and tall-man's pants, and not much of a place for suitcases. Most of ground floor shops were vacant -- Ilikai may be in bankruptcy proceedings (in the late-May news), so we're a bit nervous about arriving to find everything closed and locked up tight. Managers were very accommodating of our many questions and when we wanted to extend for an extra day.
Absolutely wonderful condo!
We visited Waikiki for 6 days and found this condo to be excellent. We were in Hawaii for a wedding and it was somewhat satisfying to have other friends of ours (who were staying in other hotels) tell us how jealous they were of our condo, and how much nicer it was than their room. All in all the condo had everything we needed, and was an extremely nice room. I plan on using Aloha Condos when I visit Maui next year.
Home away from home
The Condo was comfortable and in a terrific location. I would stay again.
We had a brilliant time at this condo and the owners/agents were a pleasure to deal with! We loved the view, the location and the quiet community it is situated in! The place was beautifully cleaned and appointed - we will be back - we loved it!
Million Dollar View
After a week of research I chose Aloha Condos and condo #1540 at the Ilikai Hotel and Apartments. Upon our arrival I became the instant hero of our family! My husband was thrilled because it was a great value and my children were beside themselves ready to go to the lagoon which is the first thing they saw as they ran to the lanai to get their first glimpse of their world for the week. The communication with Aloha Condos was excellent and professional-what you see online is really what you get and more. We had everything we needed and the condo was equipped perfectly. We went to the Foodland in the Ala Moana shopping center on our first day for breakfast supplies and snacks- the kitchen had everthing and their was even a cooler in the condo for our adventures! We took advantage of the beach chairs and sand toys that were there as well. Everyone was very nice at the Ilikai especially the valet parkers- *hint* you can deal with them on parking. My husband got them to agree to $18 a day instead of $25. It was well worth it- we never had to wait over 2-3 minutes for our car and they always asked if we needed directions etc. Our beds were comfortable, the water pressure was excellent and we really felt like it was our home for the week. The last thing we did was stand on the lanai and enjoy that view as a family and my 15 year old son said, "Thanks for the best vacation ever" Thank you Aloha Condos, we will visit again and recommend you to all or friends.
Great little apartment
The apartment was exactly as shown on the rental website. It was clean and well equipped and had a great view of the ocean. The outside of the building isn't very attractive and could use some updating. One pool was under renovation but we found chairs easily enough at the other pool. You can walk to the beach but it is a little rocky at the end we were at..so you had to walk a bit further down the beach for nicer sand...but considering the price we paid for the rental - we were very pleased that we were able to be on Waikiki beach at all! We walked to most everything. Transit is easy to figure out and we took it a few times including to Pearl Harbour. We took a few bus tours as well and were picked up right at the building. Parking is an issue in Waikiki so it was nice to get around without renting a car. We went to the Big Island the second week and Needed a car to get anywhere! My only complaint is the elevators were slow and not all working. I would stay there again in a minute.
The entire condo was in excellent condition. All the furniture was comfortable and clean. The bed was very restful. Plenty of room for unpacking and hanging clothes. The bathroom and kitchen were easy to manage. The only glitch was the lockbox on the door handle. It was difficult to open. Maybe needs to be replaced once in a while. Other than that, I would rate this as one of the best. Thanks
Fantasic condo, location & view!!!!
We loved this condo and will be definitely returning to stay here again when we next go to Honolulu! The owners were wonderful in their email, the local agents were fabulous to deal with and we cannot fault it! It has the most beautiful location, view, amenities and it suited us perfectly with our 1 yr old daughter - the perfect holiday condo!!!
