The apartment was well maintained and spacious, ideal accommodation for our family (with 2 older teenagers - 18 and 16). The kitchen was well equipped allowing us to have breakfast as well as cook when we felt like a home cooked meal. The main bedroom with en-suite were also appreciated. The management company were also keen to please and went above and beyond when contacted with questions. The hotel itself is located at the end of the main beach overlooking the harbor. The views are great, however our older kids would have preferred to be closer to "the action" which was a good 20 minute walk away, although well served by public transport. The hotel swimming pool is clean and functional, lacking the wow factor of adjoining hotels, however there are plans to upgrade it. We did spend a reasonable amount of time in and around the pool area. There appeared to be a wi-fi black spot in the lounge area, although reception was fine in other parts of the apartment (e.g. around the kitchen and in the main bedroom). This was not a problem once we understood where we needed to sit to get good internet access. I would have no hesitation recommending the apartment and would certainly consider it again if returning to Waikiki.

The condo was wonderful. There were 6 of us and it fit us perfectly. Spacious, clean and bright. Great views and a very central location. We used the beach chairs, mats and my son appreciated the bucket and shovels for sandcastle building on the beach that was less than a 5 minute walk away. The wifi connection was not very good in the condo but worked very well in the hotel lobby. We will definitely stay in this condo again!

Our stay in Condo 1110 was all we could want from the time we walked in to the time we left. Everything was as described and more. The condo was supplied with everything we could possibly need, extremely clean and tidy. Our location at the Ilikai was perfect for us - out of the way enough to avoid the bustle of Waikiki, but close enough to enjoy it when we wanted to. Lots of transport options straight outside the Hotel, what more could you want? We enjoyed coming home and enjoying the great view from the lanai over the marina - perhaps some outside lighting would enhance this? My only slight annoyance was the poor wifi connection - due to location I think, however, you could get around this by taking your laptop downstairs to the lobby or coffee shop where the reception was perfect. We admired the pool from upstairs, and it was only towards the end of the stay, we discovered this pool belonged to the hotel next door, sadly the pool of the Ilikai was a disappointment. All in all, we had a great stay and would recommend this condo highly.

The condo was very clean and comfortable. It's larger than it looks in photos. We loved the location, the hotel, and watching the sunset from our lanai. The condo has windows on two sides and always has a nice breeze blowing through. It's full of light and felt like home as soon as we walked in. Best of all - it's quiet at night. Service was efficient as well. We were having probems with the telephone and called the help line. The phone was replaced immediately. Our only complaint was the wifi doesn't work very well - which was not fault of the condo, but of Ilikai. We could rarely connect inside the condo but had to go downstairs to the lobby or sit outside on the terrace. It wasn't a big deal.

The unit was spacious enough for four adults and all rooms were very well appointed. Location was convenient and transportation was easy. The only downside was the $2.50 for each wash load and $2.50 for each dryer load for laundry-thought that was a bit much. Abc stores way over-priced!

The condo was great! The location was central with short walks to either the beach, the ala Moana shopping center or Kalakaua. Due to its two balconies, you could be either in the shade or in the sun at pretty much any time during the day. The suite was spacious, the kitchen was well apppointed and the beds were comfortable.

This was our second trip to Hawaii with our teenage daughters and again we needed 2 beds and 2 baths which are hard to find in Waikiki. The first time we stayed at Diamond Head end of Waikiki however this time we decided the other end as Ilikai looked like better accommodation, less crowded and was closer to aloa Moana Shopping Centre. The apartment was great, excellent layout with superb views, well maintained and quite modern by local standards. Second bedroom is divided from lounge via a moveable partition which is not ideal.

This was our first experience with Vrbo and we were very pleased. The condo was great. The views could not have been any better any where. This was our 8th trip to Hawaii staying at other hotels all around Waikiki. This was the best!!! The kitchen was well equipped. We were able to get up and have coffee and breakfast and take our time getting out and about. The virtual video was what sold us on your condo. Love, love, love it. We did not like having to pay $25.00 every day for parking, but we do realize that space in Waikiki is very limited. I'm not sure how that could be remedied, except by adding that to the rental amount and taken care of ahead of time.

We were just so happy with our stay at the Ilikai. It totally exceeded all our expectations. The apartment was so clean and lovely and was perfect for our family of four. The view was spectatular and we spent many hours on the balcony just watching the water! The kitchen was so well equipped. Aloha Condos were fabuluous to deal with. Very professional and quickly answered all our questions. We really appreciated having items like beach towels and beach chairs provided. If I could have my pick of where to stay in Waikiki I would still choose the Ilikai. Walking distance to ala Moana Shopping Centre, and still an easy walk to the heart of Waikiki. We also really enjoyed the beach at the ala Moana Beach Park. Again within very easy walking distance. The Concierge at the Ilikai was extremely helpful. It was just the best place to stay and we would definitley go back again. We would also recommend it to any of our family and friends travelling to Honolulu. Thank you for a brilliant stay. We also ate at the Island Bar and Grill within the hotel twice. Really lovely food at a very reasonable price! We are already planning our next trip back to Hawaii!

This is a comfortable unit, very tastefully furnished, with a great view of the marina and ocean beyond. We appreciated the boogie boards, lawn chairs and cooler available for our use. The kitchen is small. It's a good way to go for staying in Waikiki. But it's stll rather pricey once you add in valet parking and the distance to reasonably priced grocery stores. Downsides to the unit are the fact that there's a lot of street noise with the windows open (including night-time construction outside when we stayed), and the second "bedroom" is just partitioned off, with a partition that doesn't latch; this was ok for our teenagers, but wouldn't offer privacy. Also, the modem was flaky, periodically cutting out the internet.

Good and not so good of Iliikai 1110

John from San Ramon, CA on 12/27/2010 said:
Good: 1) excellent kitchen and cooking facilities. Cooking for the family was easy and painless. Very much appreciated. Salt and pepper are provided, as well as coffee filters. No sugar, cooking oil. 2) layout was comfortable for family. Table, couches, TVs and cable in bedroom and family room. 3) location. Within walking distance of just about every thing in Waikiki. 4) cleanliness. Reasonably clean (not great but good). Bad: 1) Only one bedroom, not two as stated in adds. The other sets of beds are not in their own room, but behind a pull across privacy screen--no separate air conditioning no isolation. This is false advertising and the management company should be taken to task over this. This is a very big negative. I would not have rented in if I knew this in advance. 2) Carpets. We were asked to not wear our shoes on the carpet. This was a real pain, especially with a 2 year old. The carpet is old and looks shabby, needs to be replaced. 3) the wireless did not work. 4) not enough dish washer soap for the stay. L 5) the Ilikai does not allow alcohol outside of the bar and grill. 6) even this is at a hotel, you do not have access to all the hotel privileges.
Manager response:
Aloha,<br /> <br /> The website for Ilikai 1110 has pictures, video and text describing the condo in great detail. The 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds is shown with the divider door.<br /> <br /> There are 2 air conditioners that allow for different settings between the 2 bedrooms.<br /> <br /> If a guest has wireless internet connection trouble they only need to plug in the Ethernet cable to the modem to get Internet immediately. Unit instructions provide the wireless password. Our Local Contact Person is available to answer any questions. <br /> The Contact number is also provided in the instructions.<br /> <br /> Amenities (dish washing liquid, dishwasher soap, sponge, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, pen and notepad, map) provided are intended as a starter set. The unit is not stocked with condiments. There is a store on the lobby level and other stores within a short walk that are listed in the visitor Information posted on the door.<br /> <br /> All of our units are professionally cleaned after every check out and each unit is checked for cleanliness and maintenance issues. <br /> On our instructions, we ask our guests to notify us about any concerns so we can correct them immediately. The white plush carpet is regularly cleaned by a professional carpet cleaning company. Because we care about the carpet's condition, we kindly ask that the Hawaiian tradition of removing shoes at the door be observed.<br /> <br /> Consumption of alcohol is only allowed in the guest's condo or in the 2 restaurants and bars. One is located on the top of the tower with a sweeping view of the coast and city. The other is on the lobby level. Our registered guests have access to every Ilikai area and service except the bell hop and gym. <br /> <br /> We encourage our guests to contact us before, during and after their stay if they have any questions.<br /> <br /> Mahalo.

Dave from Portland, OR on 12/03/2010 said:
I stayed here with 3 friends in November. I would *definitely* rent this place again, for a future trip to Oahu. The location is fantastic, right at the end of Waikiki beach, footsteps away from the Hilton Lagoon and the ocean itself. The views from the decks (lanais) were fantastic. We saw some amazing sunsets, a guy in robes blowing a conch shell daily, and had a great view of the upscale pool/bar areas next door (which we checked out in the evenings). The condo was big, open, with tons of natural sunlight. Overall it was a great value compared to other beachfront Waikiki options. Only gripes: cleaning fee seemed high (but still overall a great value), the condo could use more lighting, especially around the dining table (very minor nit pick), the internet seemed slow/spotty sometimes (not sure how much they can do about that). Also, the instruction sheet could specify where garbage/recycling is. (We found it, though.) One last thing -- we found out late in our trip that the hotel & marina outside were used to film many memorable scenes from the TV show lost. If you're a fan, it's another yet reason to stay here. (Search the web for sites that go through the Oahu lost locations to see which were filmed at the Ilikai and the marina/harbor. There were some very memorable ones.)

Our family had a wonderful stay at the condo! The place was very clean with a beautiful view of the ocean, marina, and the courtyards below. One thing I was puzzled at was the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom, but that is a minor issue. Also, for those wanting more privacy the sliding "accordion" door between the second bedroom and the dining area does not close all of the way as there is not a latching mechanism on the end with the sliding patio door. Overall, we were quite pleased with the arrangements and would recommend the condo to friends and family,

This was a family reunion vacation and this unit 1110 was perfect for what we called the "family central". There were several couples staying in various locations but we would often gather here to share meals, talk story and admire the view overlooking the marina, ocean and wonderful sun sets straight out in front of us. The room was setup nicely, well appointed with modern fixings. It had everything we needed to accommodate our needs. The master bedroom with its own bath situated to the back end of the unit was nice, cozy and private and had a separate balcony. And, as we played hard during the day, it was great to have a nice comfortable king bed to sleep in and get rejuvenated. The unit appeared fresh and well kept, and with that I am not sure I want to recommend it for others to use because we want to return to its fresh condition and keep it a best kept secret of the Ilikai. The only recommended improvements would be the draw string vertical overlap louvered curtains and the air con units are a little noisy.
Manager response:
Aloha Steve and Suzanne,<br /> <br /> Thank you for choosing our Ilikai unit 1110 for your family reunion. I am so glad that you and your family had such a wonderful time.<br /> <br /> I appreciate your comments regarding the vertical blinds and the air conditioner noise. I will look into finding a solution to reduce the noise from the air conditioners and the problem with the vertical blinds. Without your comments, I would not know about the above situations. I definitely want our unit to be a pleasurable experience for all of our guests.<br /> <br /> I hope that you will consider our unit for your next visit to Oahu. I would be grateful for any referrals of your family and friends who are considering a vacation to Hawaii.<br /> <br /> Mahalo, Jo Ann Bozza. Owner, Ilikai 1110

Our family of four adults had the absolute pleasure of staying in condo 1110 for 4 days early this September. It was all we'd hoped for and more. It was immaculate - exactly as shown in the slide show on the alohaCondos website. We really appreciated the extra little touches that made us feel welcome and at home such as the phone call from Kathaleen shortly after our arrival to welcome us and to check that everything was to our liking; the chocolate kisses on our pillows, the scallop shaped soaps to match the bathroom décor and the bag and brochures to name a few. We were very comfortable, the condo was well equipped and the air conditioning was wonderful. We've stayed at the Ilikai before and we love the location. The ocean views and sunsets were spectacular. Booking the condo online was a breeze. Kathaleen from aloha Condos and the owners kept in touch via email and promptly confirmed our booking and provided payment receipts plus condo information which was reassuring. Value for money, I doubt that you'd find anything better than this condo and it comes with my highest recommendation.

This was the best condo for location, view, service and cleanliness. The condo was very well stocked with everything imagineable. My family and I were very pleased and ecstatic everytime we found an item that we needed for cooking, cleaning, beach going and entertaining. It was close to everything we planned to do while in Hawaii. It was a very magical week.

We loved this condo there was plenty of room for the whole family and a fabulous view. We liked that it was not right in the middle of Waikiki but still close enough to walk to and even closer to ala moana shopping center. We also liked the fact that there were beach towels cooler and body board supplied. We will be back.

The Ilikai condo was a dream come true. The most fabulous scenery from the spectacular view. Walking distance to everything on Waikiki beach along with ala Moana. Perfect temperature inside and outside of condo with plenty of shade on spacious quiet lanai. Speedy elevator service and excellent valet for my car. I loved the decor. Everything in condo in perfect working condition. Comfortable bed. Instant hot water in shower. Automatic icemaker with spacious refrigerator. Every amenity available I needed. A dream come true. If I win the lottery I want to own it.
