Incredible Condo!
This place was amazing! We stayed a week and still didn't want to leave. We're still missing the gorgeous sunsets we enjoyed each evening. The unit is beautiful, located right across the street from a great snorkeling beach, and was very well-equipped with everything we needed to have a great family vacation. Manager Chuck Buser was very pleasant to work with and quick to answer any questions we had.

Perfect
We chose this place because it was across the street from a beach known for good snorkeling & surfing plus a very short way from another beach known for good boogie boarding. In addition to that we found that this condo was spacious and very well equipped. The fact that this condo is reasonably priced, has great sunsets enjoyable from the balcony and a grocery store down the road made it a perfect experience.

Nice for a couple. Clean, nicely decorated. A public beach (there are not too many on the big island) is across the street. Parking at the condo was never a problem (it is a big problem in Hawaii in general). I would recommend to a friend and would stay again.

This beautiful condo was ideally located for us to be able to do everything we had hope to do on the Kona side of the big island. It was nice to be able to grill fresh fish we had picked up at the Bite-Me FishMarket and enjoy our dinner on the lanai while watching the surf. The condo was so well supplied--kitchen particularly--that it made us kind of cranky when the condo we rented in Kauai, at a considerably higher price, the following week had such poor kitchen equipment it wasn't even worth trying to cook.

Great service! The condo was beautifully decorated, it had everything we needed including a cooler.Oops, our last day there the fridge and ice machine conked out!!!!The location was perfect, beautiful view, great snorkeling across the street, and the pool and hot tub area was fun and relaxing. What I liked best was my entire holiday. The only negative was the noise from one air conditioner that was running on and off outside my window. Oops, the boogie boards in the condo were broken, perhaps in your advertisement of your condo you could let visitors know that the room has a cooler, masks and snorkels(we had our own) and new boogie boards!

We had a wonderful time at Kahaluu Villa 1-201, it was a clean and comfortable room. Reservation process went smooth, their location was very easy to go snorkeling (2~3 min on foot) and easy to go a shopping center (3 min by car, 20 min on foot) where you can buy groceries and also there were some restaurants. (The shopping center had a bus stop, if you don't want to drive, you can go to Kailua Kona by bus and there was a bus stop near the condo, too.) The room had a big TV with DVD, nice sofa, internet access, pretty lanai where you can see Kahaluu Beach, and I loved a washing machine, a dryer and a dish washer/dryer, they worked well. Liked least: there were some noise at Kahaluu Beach in the evening almost every day. The party ended around 10:45 p.m., after that, the place became quiet. The room had full kitchen equipment and they only had salt, pepper, oil and honey for seasoning. We went to Coffee Shack for lunch, they had good sandwiches and the view was great! Thank you very much for sharing the beautiful condo, we loved this place.

I was very satisfied w/the quick response by Aloha Condos when I inquired about the property. The reservation process went very smooth and was thorough- all costs listed. The recommendation about adding the AC for comfort in September was very much appreciated. The unit was beautifully appointed with a great view of the ocean. The space is great for a couple who needs to bring some work on vacation (not advised!)because it provided privacy for those who would rather sleep in. We truly had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. The pool, hot tub and bbq grill were maintained daily. Keahou shopping center is convenient for groceries and sundries. Liked least: I had a slight leg injury so all the stairs (down from parking lot and then back up to the 2nd level)made it slow going. The view was worth it. Liked most: The snorkeling beach across the street is very nice in the early AM before the crowds come in. Snorkeling gear can be rented there daily. The complex was very quiet and safe. Liked the binder the owner put together that is filled with information about local restaurants, golf course, beaches, etc. You're right, The Coffee Shack is great...and their cranberry/mac nut scones are the best! Thank you!

The condo is in a good location, about 5 miles from downtown Kona, and very close to a small shopping center just south on Alii, where you can get groceries and a good selection of fresh fish. The unit was clean and well stocked...spices in cupboard should be discarded, they are old. It was very humid while we were there and we were grateful a/c was available. There is no inside dining area, so you must eat on the lanai, which would be fine when cooler. Kahaluu Beach across the street has awesome turtles. Alii Drive was a bit noisy at times.

Very impressed. Clean, stocked with high quality kitchen stuff, nice TV/stereo, spacious, great shower(s)/bathrooms, awesome covered porch/deck, ocean sunset views, walk across a small street to snorkel with turtles, drive a few block to a shopping center with a grocery store and drug store. The owners even leave things like beach towels and chairs, a big cooler, snorkel fins, it's as if I had my own condo in Hawaii to visit. The infinity pool is great, and there is a nice BBQ available to grill on. I really liked this unit (1-201), there are about 4 like this that have the ocean views. Only (small) downside is that you can hear some traffic noise, just cars going by once in while, and the part across the street can host parties. Nothing that really detracted from our experience. I recommend this place.

My DH and I stayed in this absolutely perfect condo July 10 - 16, 2009. After a long drive from Hilo, where we had a mixed stay in two B&Bs, we were not expecting much, as this was the first time we have ever rented a condo through an on line company. However once we entered this lovely condo, we were completely blown away by how well-designed, clean, amazing view - far surpassing the photos that are on this website. It is truly a treasure on the Big Island. We had so much fun just feeling like this was our home - after so many days living in someone else's house -it was fabulous to let down our hair and relax. Kahaluu park was quiet at night, and the sunsets from the lanai are simply stunning. I took many, many photos. The shopping centre was very close by, we love the KTA store (Mauna Loa cookies are the best!) and our favourite snorkeling beach was right across the street. Everything was simply amazing! I would not hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone. We will definitely return. Thank you for the welcome emails, renting through Flip Key was a breeze. Mahalo!

And just across the street from amazing snorkelling... such a great location. We enjoyed the deck every evening. The pool was under repair, but we used the hot tub. The whole complex is well-kept and just great. Can't wait to come again! Thanks so much!!

This condo is in a great location, and is very nice. This was our second trip to the Big Island. We had previously rented a house nearby with my extended family. This time it was just my wife and I. We wanted to be within walking distance to Kahalu'u Beach Park. You can hardly get closer than this condo, you could throw a rock from the balcony and hit people in the park if you were so inclined (we were not). The condo is furnished nicely. I would rent this place again. Two problems we had were: 1- since it is so close to the park, often there is loud music and BBQing in the evening. It wouldn't go late but since we were still on mainland time we wanted to go to bed early and the noise was annoying. 2- this unit is directly above the hot tub and some other guests thought it was ok to soak in the hot tub at 3am and talk loudly to each other and on cell phones. I wish there was better signage at the hot tub to encourage guests to be courteous and keep quiet. Air Conditioning is optional so we didn't get it. If the windows are open in the evening and you use the ceiling fans it is fine. But if you want to close the windows to keep out any noise, you will want to use the AC. Again, we would rent here again.

We stayed here for about a week. From the second we walked into the condo we knew and felt like we were at home. The condo came with all kinds of extras including boogie boards (adult and kid sizes), scuba gear, and a assortment of books, dvds, binoculars, wine opener, and more! There was not a single spot in the condo that didnt have a great view. The beach was a two minute walk across the street and if you didnt want to walk two minutes, you could walk 30 seconds to the private pool or hot tub. We found the grill to be very usefull, and only made us feel more at home. The only "down" side to this place, is a road just infront of the condo. However, I wouldnt have noticed the sound if it wasnt pointed out to me in a review I read earlier. But it is important to note traffic on the road was never heavy, so the level of noise never bothered or annoyed us... even at the smallest number. In the end... is it there? Yes. It is annoying? Not the slightest. I've told everybody about this place since we've been back. It is without a doubt the best steal on the Kona side of the island. Great location with it being on the beach, with shoping center 2 minutes one way, and the main "Kona Tourist Trap Area" 5mins the other way... It couldnt have been in any better of a location. Rent this condo. It's amazing.

Condo was very clean and very well equipped. It was tastefully decorated and it felt like home but with a much better view and a super pool. The location was central for what we wanted to see and do on the Kona side of the island. Most days were off sightseeing, hiking and kayaking. Snorkeling was "fantastic" at the beach across the street. It was easy to access the water and like swimming in an aquarium. Afternoons got crowded with a tour bus or two, so do your snoekeling in the AM, it's better then anyway. My wife didn't even use fins, just water shoes...a must anywhere in Hawaii. I would have given this condo a "highly recommended" if it weren't for the family of cockroaches living in the dishwasher, fortunately they stayed there and we left them alone and hand washed the dishes. I notified the owner upon returning home and told him we would consider staying again someday.... provided he guaranteed us it was pest free. I understand they are difficult to erradicate but not impossible. Nowhere else we stayed in Hawaii had any pest problems.

We rented unit 1-201 at Beach Villas at Kahaluu. We found it on Trip Advisor. Service was very good, we needed a place to stay for the next day and the owner actually contacted us right away. The condo was perfect, located right across the street from the beach and very close to Keauhou shopping center with a nice sushi restaurant and thai place. The condo is kid friendly, and there is access to a nice pool. Our 3-year-old daughter loved it. We never saw anybody at the pool and the beach was not too crowded either. The condo was fully equipped (we actually got a juicer for $10 at Wallmart and left it, so now it's really fully equipped:-)), everything was clean and seemed quite new. The interior is nice and charming, and doesn't seem too old either. We really enjoyed our 1-week-stay and will certainly come back. Nadja

This condo is absolutely AMAZING!!! You just have to rent it if you are on the Kona side of the Big Island. It was clean, comfortable and so relaxing to stay here. It was tastefully decorated. The condo looked new and I believe it was just recently built at the time we rented it in August of 2006. Condo is conveniently located across the street from the Kahalu'u Beach Park which we could see right off our beach facing balcony. It's a wonderful beach to go snorkling or just to hang out. What I liked about this fully equipped condo is that it was comfy, roomy and had everything I needed on my vacation. Loved that it had A/C because my husband and I along with our 2 kids went during August. The condo had 2 bathrooms which really helped out especially when you have 2 teens with you and everyone is trying to get ready or use the bathroom. A 2nd bathroom sure saves time. It even had a washer/dryer which was helpful because we actually did use it during our week and a half stay there. I rented the condo from Chuck Buser and although we only corresponded via email, he was such a nice person to rent from. He provided us with all the information we needed. He even accommodated my request to check in early since we flew in early that morning. Thanks Chuck!!! I definitely would recommend this to everyone. You won't be disappointed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we definitely would come back to rent this same condo again!!!

If you're looking for a great bang for the buck, this is it. All the amenities (full kitchen, nice dishes, washer dryer, towels, cable TV, etc). Sipping morning coffee on the lanai while listening to tropical birds became something we looked forward to every day. Ocean view, Palm trees, Sun shine - all enjoyable from a clean and secure complex. Easy highway access. 3 minute drive to a very reasonable supermarket. The snorkeling across the street was convenient and good. 1 mile walk to Magic sands beach. If you're a runner/jogger, you're right on Alii drive. There's a little bit of street noise, but nothing that would keep us away. We enjoyed a very calming vacation overall felt it was worth every penny. Forget the "resorts", this is better!

The only negative, and we were aware before booking, was the traffic noise on Alii Drive. Thank you for allowing us to use your vacation home for our vacation. One question. On the day we checked out, we followed all of the instructions at check to get back out cleaning deposit: laundered the extra sheets, took out trash, ran the dishwasher, put our towels in the washing machine to be laundered. Basically everything but cleaning the condo. I thought the deposit would be refundable. Was I incorrect?

This was our 5th visit to The Big Island. We were looking for a place close to Kahaluu Beach so we could snorkel every day at our leisure. Well, being right across the street from it was fantastic! Making the reservation, getting the confirmation and information was very easy and thorough. They made sure a contact name and number was available to us and easy to find in case we had any questions or needed/wanted anything. The Owner had put together a book of restaurants/menues, beaches, activities, services and maps in case you needed additional help in finding your way around the island. We had t.v.s, internet, phones, beach toys and chairs. I think we had it all. The decor of the condo was beautiful, very tasteful. It was extremely clean, bright and beyond welcoming. It had everything we needed in the kitchen to make us feel like we were in our own home. Having a washer and dryer made our stay easier. The bed and furniture were comfortable, the layout perfect, the view was fantastic. The parking lot didn't seem very full and we felt like we had a lot of privacy. There was an outdoor shower to wash off any sand that was brought back from the beach and that helped us keep the condo, bathing suits and beach toys clean. The pool and jacuzzi were refreshing during the day and also a wonderful way to end the day. We liked everything about this condo. We look forward to returning to Hawaii and the Beach Villas at Kahaluu.

First off, Chuck was great to deal with. Super helpful and accomodating. We have been coming to the Island for 25 years now, usually once a year. This is one of the best places we have stayed. It is well equipt, a great location, and has a nice pool. There are nice touches like wireless available (not mentioned in the condo description), and blackout curtains in the bedroom (great for coming from the mainland and jetlagging 4 hours ahead). I cook a lot with local ingredients not available to me in Colorado and this kitchen was pretty well equipt. A better set of knives would be my one suggestion the light cheap ones provided are pretty dangerous cutting the thick Island friut and veggies. I would like if you would have provided a few basic food staples like vinegar, sugar, mustard, ketsup, ect. I have stayed in some places where the stapes are all stored in the refrigerator door with a note to please replace something if you use it up. It was fun to use the items and see what others bought and found useful. It was nice that you provided dish soap. It really peves me when I rent a condo and there is nothing provided in the kitchen so, at least there was soap. The only other small 'problems' I had with the condo was the shower head. Neither my husband or I liked it. Also, the fitted bed sheet was too small for the bed and kept creeping off at night, it was very annoying. All-in-all it was a great stay. We'll keep you on our list of condos to check availbilty on our next visit. Thanks, Mo McKenna.

Location is right across the street from Kahaluu beach, as promised. The road noise and evening beach party noise is noticeable, but did not bother us. The building has its own freshwater shower outside to rinse off you and your gear. The service for getting booked and arrival is excellent-very professional. The condo is attractive inside and out, with a good set of kitchen amenities. Some nice extras were provided, such as boogie boards, beach mats, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. The beds were very comfortable. Be aware that only one small set of shampoo and lotion is provided-when it is gone, you must buy your own. It seemed like a funny thing to cheap out on when so much else is provided. Overall this was a lovely condo for a fair price. We will definitely choose to stay there again.

This condo worked out great for our family of 4. The layout was great - our kids liked having tvs in each room. We spent a lot of time on the lanai - the sunsets were great. The beds were comfortable. We used the pool and hot tub a lot - they were in good condition. The beach across the street was crowded during the day so we used it in the early morning or later evening. Saw lots of turtles. Would definitely run this property again.
Wonderful Condo!

The condo was great! It definitely exceeded our expections! We had a great view of Kahaluu Beach Park from the lanai. We took the short walk across the street every morning to snorkel before the beach got too crowded. The condo provided beach towels, boogie boards, and beach mats. Snorkel equipment can be rented at the beach. As others have mentioned, a car is necessary to get to other beaches, shopping and restaurants, but it's all conveniently located. The unit was exceptionally clean and provided us with all the amenities of a home away from home. The kitchen cabinets were well stocked with dinnerware, glassware, cooking utensils and flatware. We thought that there was more than enough for a family of 4 to use each day. The only items we purchased was food! We highly recommend this condo! It made our vacation even more relaxing and enjoyable.

I chose these Beach Villas based on the previous reviews. I thought they were accurate and right on. The condo itself was a two bedroom, two bath unit. We only used one bedroom, but them's the breaks. They were clean. The view was nice (although it did overlook a road, the pictures accurately showed it). And the unit was modern. When we ran out of shampoo, they let them for us. My one warning to folks would be that there is no elevator. If you pack lightly, this isn't a big deal. We didn't so we had to lug our stuff. Still, it was a small thing. I jumped into the pool only once -- who wants a pool when you have a great snorkeling spot across the street? You definitely would want a car if you stayed here. We cooked a lot. Also, I HIGHLY recommend getting the optional air conditioning. Our stay would have been miserable without it. Have fun.

This condo was wonderful - just like the pictures except for one thing...the view of the ocean was better than the pictures suggest! It was a great place to come back to in the evening or to lounge around during the day (including the nice pool). There was lots of beach gear (e.g., towels, cooler, chairs, mats) that made going to the beach more enjoyable. Aside from the good snorkeling beach right across the street, you will need a car to drive to other beaches or in to town. The drive to the Volcano Park took us about 2 hours and it's also a 30 minute drive north to the beaches of Mauna Kea and Hapuna. The condo was a great deal and well-situated to be close to various attractions.

We had a very nice stay at this condo. The views were beautiful. The only reccomendation I have is to add some more dinnerware so you don't have to spend your vacation washing dishes to reuse.

The property was wonderful. The location was excellent, right across the street from some of the best snorkeling on the island, perfect if you want a relaxed vacation with small children. The only negative comment I have is that the property is advertised as having air conditioning. However, the unit is locked and you have to pay a daily charge to get the key to use the air conditioner--not mentioned when I booked the property. Still, it was a good value and I would definitely stay there again.

Two couples stayed for one week, it was perfect with 2 bd. and 2 ba. Great view of beach across the street, the snorkeling is the best on the island. The pool and hot tub were also very nice. We had BBQ a couple of the nights, and met some very nice people. (Also from Montana) It was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We plan to return.

Beautifully done condo, great location - we had a great time here, best VRBO we stayed in. My husband was bothered a bit by street noise at night - I was only bothered by him wanting to close the window rather than leave it open to the breeze. Location is super - right across the street from a super snorkeling beach for the whole family (easy for the kids to enjoy), and we loved being able to wander between beach and home. Condo had everything we wanted and more. Really remarkable paint job inside too - nicely done! Days on the beach followed by kids swimming in the pool while Dad grills dinner, eat dinner on our private lanai at sunset, and then veg in front of a movie on the flat screen. Very sweet life! Comfy beds, great showers, conveniences of home, no sign of pests. Didn't see much of other residents, but those we saw were friendly. Don't have a single negative thing to say about this property (and we did have a few about the other places we stayed!)

My Family Review

Brenda Vieweg from Seattle, WA on 04/16/2009 said:
I found this property through an internet search, google. My husband and four teenagers stayed in one of your condos. 1st, our condo was the "perfect" location. We could not have been more perfectly placed. Georgeous. It is the perfect area for snorkeling. I would have changed a few things. Not having daily maid service convinced my husband and I to only take the children to places "with" daily maid service from now on. Cleaning up after the kids and picking up after my husband was not a vacation for me and was more stressful on my family. We did inquire about maid service and were told that it was not available daily. I wish there had been an outside shower. The beach across the street is out of this world wonderful. And, they have outdoor showers. But, when you walk across the street and up the walk you still have sand and salt in your shoes and beach bag. I hated cleaning up the salt and sand after my kids came up from the beach. I was trying to keep the condo clean. I was lucky that someone had told me about purchasing land's end water shoes prior to our trip. On the Big Island, they are a must have. That tip would be helpful to people, especially since you all don't have a lot of shopping centers. I think that pre-arranged delivery service of fruit/breakfast sandwiches would be something some of your guests would appreciate. They had a sandwich truck on the beach for lunchtime but the food was not very good. Your Island has so much natural, wonderful food I would think that by ordering the night before someone could make a lot of money with deliveries. The only other issue we had was that our flight was delayed the morning we were due to check out and the property manager (via the maid) was not accomodating to allow us to pay to stay in our condo for a few more hours. Instead, we spent our final five hours in HI at the airport. My children still refer to those five hours as the longest of their life. Brenda Vieweg

We didn't want to spend the high prices for Hawaii hotels so we searched and found this condo. We were a little hesitent about getting a condo just because you never know what you're going to get even when you can view pictures. Well, we got everything we were promised and more! We couldn't stop talking about how great of a find this condo was. The private parking was perfect. We felt very safe and secure. The condo was as clean as could be. It felt very new with nice appliances (flat screen TV, Bose stereo, dishwasher, air conditioning, washer and dryer, etc.) and wonderful bathrooms (two of them). The master bedroom was wonderful and the regular bathroom was just as good with just a little less space. The livingroom furniture was comfortable. The balcony was so much fun. We spent a lot of time out around the table (under the fan) having meals or relaxing and watching the ocean. I will recommend this condo to everyone going to the Big Island.

This condo far exceeded our expectations for the Kailua-Kona area. It has an awesome location, across from a renowned snorkeling and beginning surfing beach. Public transportation is readily available via a beach bus that will take you to other beaches, or to shop in Kona. Close to a shopping center for all of your basic needs. The condo itself is stylish, comfortable, beautifully maintained, and well-equipped. It was a real pleasure to cook and enjoy a relaxing dinner in the comfort of a lovely home-away-from-home. And the views were magnificent at sunset! The pool area is immaculate, and well planned for use by both children and adults. Our only concern during our stay was a bit of noise from the street traffic--though we really considered it minimal. We heartily recommend this villa unit, and consider it to be an exceptional value. We are definitely looking forward to our next stay!

This condo was a wonderful alternative to a hotel. The beach across the street was beautiful with outstanding snorkeling! We had two adults and a teenager so it was great to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The lanai was one of my favorite parts - we ate several meals out there - watching the ocean and the people at the beach. Sometimes eating out while on vacation gets tiring - it was great being able to cook in the kitchen and enjoy dinner in the condo. If we ever return to Kona we will most definitely come back to the same condo. The feeling of a home away from home was wonderful. Additionally the condo had many fantastic extras - such as some boogie boards, beach towels, dvd's, and guide books. The absolute ONLY complaint I have was the rusty/falling apart rack in the shower. However it seems pretty trivial when compared to all of the great points. I truly hope to return one day!

This condo is just plain awesome. Starting with the interior that is well-decorated, spacious rooms, gorgeous ocean view (dining table is on the ocean-facing lanai). Location is wonderful - great snorkeling just across the road and short drive to anywhere you want. Warning: this condo spoiled me so much that I find it very hard to find vacation rentals for my other trips! The price is right and Chuck is a great person to deal with - he was able to accomodate all my requests. Next time I am on the Big Island I will definitely stay here.

For convenience to Keahou attractions, this is a great location. It really is right across the street from Kahaluu beach, which has the best easily accessible snorkeling on the island. There are amazing archaeological sites a short walk away (including several major heiau now being restored), the hotel across the street has good food, shoreside dining and live entertainment, and you can get surfing lessons just down the street. The condo is large, very clean and modern with a clothes washer and dryer (very convenient), has access to a swimming pool you'll probably never use since the snorkeling is so great, a well-equipped kitchen, a lanai, and little extras like snorkeling gear. I know it sounds like they paid me to say all this, but they didn't and I really loved this place.
