Ilikai Hotel and Apartments
What others are saying about Ilikai Hotel and Apartments condos
Perfect for this family of 3
Location, location, location. Let's just start with that. It is perfect. Close to everything, shuttles, the pink line shuttles, walking distance to the beach, Ala Moana shopping, etc. We loved the clean and updated suite that contained everything we needed in the kitchen to enjoy breakfast smoothies and late night snacks. We could have cooked a full dinner, but we found the local eating establishments so numerous and tempting that we just kept eating out!!! Sorentos, the restaurant at the top of the Ilikai, was a real treat, too. Pricey, but the views and service are worth it. The bed is tre' comfy and we had enough towels for the whole week with a couple to spare. The views are spectacular, too. I highly recommend this particular suite, but would expect any of the condos represented by aloha condos to be just as wonderful.

Amazing
We were extremely happy. This was our first trip to Oahu.My wife and I were on our honeymoon. The view was amazing and because of this we probably ate on the balcony more than we did at restaurants. It was very clean and nice. The bed was comfy and again the view!

excellent location and beautiful view
My family stayed in this condo for 25 days this summer. It had a beautiful harbor view and from its lanai we could see hula show every fridays. On the Independance Day, we could see fabulous fireworks on our lanai whitout waiting outside for a long time. The building was very secure and we could use free wifi in our room. Just the construction noise from next building for the new swimming pools annoyed us when we stayed in the condo during the day, but it was almost finished when we had to leave. The location of the condo was also excellent. We could walk to the ala moana shopping center for shopping or our meals. Just across the street, there was Mcdonald and aBC store and also many nice restaurants. The rent-a- car office was across the street, taxis were always waiting in front of the building and the tour buses also came there for pick-up. We also stayed in Hilton Hawaiian Village for two nights and also liked the place, but Ilikai was a good value.

Excellent accomodation.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was included even beach towels, beach toys, cooler and daypack. Awesome flat screen tv and free wireless internet. We would definitely recommend this unit to family & friends.

Absolutely awesome
Fantastic huge condo, utterley surprised at the the size and location, fantastic high floor in the best spot with the most beautiful view. Very much quieter than a hotel room, could not be happier. We have booked another one for 2 weeks time! loved it so much. Too easy, friendly agent couldn't be mre helpful. Fantastic

This condo was everything we needed!
We rented this one-bedroom Ilikai condo for nearly two weeks in late July and early august 2010. It was our first experience with this type of accommodation, and I have to say we were extremely pleased. The condo was very clean, had a very comfortable King bed and sofa bed, and a kitchen equipped with new appliances and more dishes than we could use. The Ilikai Hotel and Suites is a gracious and comfortable site, offering a lovely open-air lobby, a very nice pool, and interesting restaurants. We liked the value and cleanliness of this property the best. The only disappointment was that it had no health club privileges associated with the rental.
—Nancy Smith (08/10/2010)
Great deal and location.
My wife lived here with her daddy and our little infant for a week, and with a kitchenette they were able to live comfortably and affordably. The patio faces a beautiful view of the mountain and skyscrapers. At night a nice chill spot in their Phat couple chair. Laundromat on the floor and a place to dump trash. walk through the Hilton Village to arrive at the best beach location. The fake bay at the Hilton and near water is rocky and not nice, so just walk down a little further east. Trolly will shoot you up and down the strip to the zoo area for $2 per person.

Iliki 1531 "top of the line"
I spent 12 beautuful days in Waikiki in the fabulous condo #1531 at the Iliki Condo and apts. This unit was the most high end; luxury unit 've had the pleaseure of visiting. I went to 2 other resorts on the island for visits; and they didn't come close to Unit 1531.The condo is furnished with new and very expensive furniture. We overlooked the Marina and Ocean; sharing the beach with the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Fridays Fireworks and the 4th of July fireworks display were the best on island from our large lanai. We had beach chairs, buggy boards, slippers, beach towels. The unit was supplied with everything but food. I enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen. The laundry room/trash.was very close. Although I rented a car for longer trips; a car was not necessary. I wrode the bus or the trolly to other parts of Waikiki. The owner was very nice to work with. She answered alll my questions and gave excellent advise.
—Denise (08/01/2010)
Very Nice!
The condo was very comfortable and clean and was well situated for shopping, groceries, and restaurants. The only drawback with the room was that there is no way to close off the bedroom area completely from the living room area. We also enjoyed the Ilikai Bar & Grille - very friendly bartenders and an interesting mix of guests. Friday nite Hula was fun and entertaining.
—Laura (07/12/2010)
Beautiful view of ocean!
We stayed for 4 nights and the condo was everything we needed. The view was great and it was wonderful having a coffee in the morning with an ocean view. There was information left for us tourist such as maps and brochures. There was even a beach bag to tote our things which was incredibly useful and we really appreciated! We didn't use the boogie boards or beach things, but everthing is there that you could need without having to rent or purchase. The location is fantastic with restaurants nearby and the aBC store for grocery or snack items. It is an easy walk to the Waikiki strip for the action. The valet parking was expensive but very convenient! The unit was nice and very clean. I would highly recommend a stay in this unit.
—Bev (07/12/2010)
The unit was nicely appointed and served it's purpose well.
We had a good stay in Honolulu. Prefer Maui. The Ilikai is a very oldbr /Hotel and the exterior is showing it's age. The interior has beenbr /updated and well maintained. The room was well maintained and updated tobr /modern standards.
—Bert (06/26/2010)
Enjoyable
Other than not receiving the 3 digit code for the entry key by e-mail ahead of time, the location was very convenient.. the room was very clean and complete of mostly everything needed for vacationers. The bed was extremely comfortable and we as a family truly enjoyed our stay there....and would stay there again when given a chance.. thank you

The room was great. Clean and well kept. Nice furnishings. The view and location was also very nice. From the window you can see the ocean. Hang out and watch the waves. We could also walk to the beach in minutes and took many early morning strolls. The parking is a little pricy since it's primarily valet but it was actually kind of nice just dropping the car off and running up to the room without the hassle of looking for a spot. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend it to a friend.

This condo has it all. Top location, nice views and all of the amenities of the Ilikai hotel. However, I would not reccommend this for four adults. To be honest, we had an adult son with us and he slept on the couch that made into a small bed. Two small children would be fine. The unit itself was immaculate, the view is unbelievable and the Illikai is older, but it is Hawaiiana. I started traveling to this hotel in the mid 60's as a child and lived in Hawaii for many years. The location, the view, the clean well- stocked kitchen make this a beautiful stay. I would not reccommend this unit for 4 adults though. The price was great and we loved it- the three of us!

I really enjoyed staying at the condo. Everything was well provided and very comfortable. Location great and close to restaurants and Ala Moana Center. Would definitely stay there again. I did not particularly like the pool area too much concrete but had to use it as box jellyfish were at the beaches. Newcomers may feel a bit helpless but there is a travel desk in the lobby.
This unit is exactly as pictured and described.

We found Aloha Condo Rentals to be very businesslike and accomodating. We were coming off a cruise and were able to get in a few hours early and thus did not have to sit around waiting. Rocco answered all of our questions promptly. The unit was a great place to stay. It is well equipped and the view was spectacular. The futon in the living area is, however, quite a poor excuse for a couch. The Ilikai is in a great location and we were able to walk the the shopping centre as well as downtown Waikiki. If we were returning to Hawaii next year,we would not hesitate to deal with Aloha Condos and would love to stay in this unit again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ilikai 1424 for just over two-weeks. The condo was well equipped to meet our needs with a great location and a beautiful view. The updates to the unit are modern and make the space very pleasant. We have a 2-year old son. The unit was fine for us, but the balcony railings made us nervous. Unlike many newer balconies that are designed without cross-bars, the balconies at the Ilikai can be climbed on by an active toddler. The swimming pool at the Ilikai is adequate, but the lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village is just a few steps away and is wonderful. Rocco was attentive to our needs and incredibly responsive when we had questions. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall, the apartment condo 1424 is perfect for four people. It has a great view. It is clean. The price is right (we went in Dec. 2009). It does need to supply more big trash bags and an extra roll of paper towel. Other than that, it is an awesome place to stay for a family of four. Also the apartment is quiet and peaceful.

Employees from our company stay at the Ilikai when in Hawaii. Condo 1424 is modern bright and great for a single/couple, a bit tight for a family. The views of the ocean from the bed are beautiful and a nice way to start each day. The building is getting old and tired but the staff are helpful. There is only valet parking under the building which is great if you don't mind paying for it ($18/day). The Hilton complex next door provides plenty of shopping and dining facilities and a free view of the Luau Sunday thru Thursdays. There is also fireworks every friday night.

We just spent an amazing week in Condo 1424 at the Ilikai. The Ilikai is a great location, not right in the noise of Waikiki central but close enough to walk, catch The Bus or a cab and be there in minutes. A short walk to Ala Moana shopping centre and right on the bus stops. The condo has a gorgeous view of the Hilton lagoon and the ocean, It is only a very short walk to the beach and all it has to offer. The condo was nicely appointed, decorated and well equipped. The Ilikai is currently undergoing significant renovation to it's main pool and one condo block, this is well screened off and most of the courtyard is still accessible , lit up, gardens well kept. The Friday night activities and BBQ that precede the fireworks is well worth a look. We would definitely rent this condo again. Cheers

Thank goodness that the hotel was able to assist in locating Rocco Consulting to obtain the code. Once we got in the condo, everything was fabulous! :)

The condo was great - clean, beautifully decorated, plenty of supplies. Comfy bed, wonderful view of the lagoon and beach. We got to sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks from the Hilton. And our 2 year old even slept through them with the door closed! Best view of fireworks I've ever had. Easy access to the store across the street for simple groceries - we did a lot of lunches and quick dinners in our room since we had a 2 and 6 year old with us. Breakfast buffet was perfect for filling our bellies before heading out for the pool/beach. Easy check in and check out and we had no problems with the condo while we were staying there. Overall, it was a great experience. Our only challenges came from traveling with a very spirited 2 year old boy.

The laundry was very handy across the corridor. The fireworks on Friday night were special from the balcony as was the laui from the Hilton every other night. Ilikai 1512 - Very nice condo

jma2010 from Minnesota on 03/17/2010 said:
The condo was as nice and in order as described, nice furniture and upgrades. Very good ocean view. I enjoyed my stay. Every morning went down to the beach for a walk (there's a boardwalk along the way.) Location of the Ilikai is great, right on the city bus line, plus stores are across the street and the Aloha Shopping Center is within walking distance. Parks nearby, too. Hotel lobby was in good condition. Five elevators and no problems. The only drawback is the unit is located near the elevators and the mechanical room. If you are noise sensitive, that could be an issue. The fan speeds drop way down later in the night and then everything becomes very quiet. I slept with the lanai door open and that helped with other "white noise" and all went well after that. Since you're on the 15th floor, it should be safe to leave the lanai door open until it gets more quiet. (My brother and sister-in-law stayed in another unit and stopped by. They are not noise sensitive and could not hear the fans!) Otherwise, the unit was wonderful and it was very convenient to be close to the elevators and laundry room in the hotel. Very private, too.

Our stay in 1512 in the Ilikai was very pleasant. The view was nice and it was very comfortable. The $125. per night seemed reasonable as well. The problem I have is the $125. charged for a cleaning fee. If you divide the $125. by the three days stay, the cost of the room comes to $165. + the taxes added to the $125. all comes to around $180. per night. We barely left dust during our stay to warrant such a charge. There are many hotels that we could have stayed in for the same amount that offer daily cleaning and are situated much closer to the action of Waikiki.

Telling everyone about condo unit 1512 is like telling everybody about your favorite fishing spot - something you'd rather keep a secret but it's too good not to spread the word!! The condo was better than we expected and better than advertised. The view was spectacular, the unit immaculate and handy to laundry facilities, garbage disposal and elevators. Lots of storage and many conveniences in the kitchen i.e. blender, microwave, corkscrew etc etc. It's a mild exercise to walk to the beach and the main tourist areas, however that neck of the woods is a little quieter and has the Outback Steakhouse and Red Lobster close by and the Ala Moana Shopping Centre is only a 10 minute walk. Other reviews we have read on this unit have referred to a noisy fan behind the kitchen wall; we found this a non-issue as some 'white' noise is relaxing and probably helped us sleep! Unfortunately we must recommend this condo (but please don't everybody book it up solid for the future - we want to go back!) !!! Thank you Eleanor...it was a dream holiday!

The Condo is in a great location with spectacular views. Unfortunately there is a major noise problem. The Condo is situated next to a room where an exhaust unit, which runs 24/7 has been installed. This unit has been installed near the opposite side of the kitchen/living room wall of the Condo and you can feel the vibration of the motor through the wall. At night the noise is louder and it is very difficult to sleep. We have just had our fifth trip to Honolulu and we thought we had finally found our dream place to stay - a well-appointed Condo in a great location with spectacular views. You can imagine how disappointed we are that we will have to look elsewhere if we return. I hope this noise problem can be rectified so people can enjoy the Condo and more importantly recommend this Condo to their friends.

This was a very nice condo ~ more worn (privacy screen was in need of repair, but we did not use it)than we expected but in very good shape overall. The view from the deck is splendid. There was plenty of bedding available, as well as beach towels. Having an internet connection was a very nice perk. The smoke alarm battery died & the unit would not shut off even when battery was removed (electric) and the owner's people were very good about coming to replace the battery - actually we replaced it to "shut it up" and we were reimbursed for this expense. There is no dishwasher, but we ate out or at our daughter's larger condo so this was not an issue for us. The livingroom area could use a ceiling fan. There was a sand chair in closet, a boogie board & a beach umbrella but they were all broken. All in all we had a very nice week in this condo, and I would recommend it. We were disappointed in the $120 cleaning fee, as other relatives were not charged or paid a lesser amount. Would check more closely on this cost next time.

My family and I stayed here during a recent trip to Hawaii. We loved the location and the view from the lanai was beautiful. The room was within walking distance to the beach or the lagoon. It was also centrally located to anything that one may need. The room was fully stocked with everything needed for the stay; towels, beach towels, kitchen utensils, etc. There are also books and DVDs for down time. Our only complaint would be the parking. There is no "free" parking. There is free daily parking by the beach but its not overnight, hourly parking across the street (25 cents an hour)by the harbor or valet parking at the hotel for $25 a day. We opted for valet parking as the easiest and least stressful. Plus, with valet parking, you can pull right up and empty your trunk. The backside of the hotel offers only stairs. However, we would definetely stay again if we return to Hawaii.

The only downside was that our flight didn't leave until 10:00 p.m. and we had to be out of the room by 11:00 a.m. We had to stay by the pool for the day with our luggage poolside as well. Front desk didn't seem to be very accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Condo1512 at the Ilikai. It was exactly as it looked on the web site (that's always a worry). It was clean, very conveniently located for us and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. Having the laundry room across the hall was great and also the closeness to both elevators (normal and bathing suit) was a plus! We would definitely recommend the condo to others. We did suggest that the owner put a fan in the bathroom (for elimination of steam, for noise filtering, etc. The Condo was just perfect for us! Mahalo and Aloha!

Great apartment in between Waikiki and Ala Moana

I stayed at Ilikai for a 8 days. It has a nice, spacious lobby area that opens to the back of the hotel and a small bar. Nice picture taking. The apartment was big enough for 3 adults with a king size bed and sofa bed. The kitchen had all required appliances available. Bathroom was a good size with shower, not a bathtub. There is balcony that looks over the back of the hotel facing the ocean. There is partial ocean view as the balcony also faces the back of another hotel. Location is ok - it's about 20 mins walk from Waikiki beach (which is quite long - Ilikai is on one end of Waikiki). It is 10 mins walk to Ala Moana, the main shopping complex. Easy to get to the bus stops at Ala Moana. Coffee places, convenience store and restaurants are all near Ilikai. I enjoyed the apartment, it's very comfortable for long term stay. It made me feel at home.

However there were some issues - when we arrived, internet and even phone services were disconnected, We spent some time to figure out what need to be plugged in into what. But finally everything worked fine. There also was a problem with bathroom drain at some point, but it was fixed quickly. We would recommend this property.

We were 3 females in an open floorplan bachalor suite - our opinion - more suitable for a couple or 2 persons only. Sofa bed uncomfortable to sleep on. This apartment is small but very clean. Nice furnishings, modern, bright - lovely view of the lagoon and Pacific Ocean from a balcony with a privacy shield. Fully equipped and clean kitchen - immaculate bathroom. We all would return. BUT REMEMBER: you are renting a condo that is located in an old hotel. All of the shops on the main floor were closed accept a small food store that was extremely overpriced. No restaurants/gift stores etc. You will not receive any assisance from Hotel Staff. Parking is extremely overpriced for condo rentors. You are not welcome at the pool. Yes you can use it but the other owners will not make you feel welcome.

I love the Ilikai for it's Views, location and history, but it's getting old. The condo is remodeled and very nice, but the building is in need of some major work. I was sorry to see that the condo owners and the developer who wanted to remodel the place couldn't aggree, so he pulled out. It's kinda like a ghost town in the shop areas down stairs. The owner of my condo and the Alohacondos people we delt with were great. Thanks for the memories. Andy

We just stayed for 2 weeks in beautiful Wakiki in Room 1530 at the Ilikai Hotel. We've been coming there for the past 6 years but this is the first time we've stayed in Room 1530. It has a fabulous view of the lagoon and ocean, is right next door to the beautiful Hilton Village, is across the street from 3 well-known restaurants, is 2 blocks from the biggest outdoor shopping mall, and 3 blocks from a large movie theater, and bus service is right in front of the hotel. The condo is clean, has a nice, well equipped kitchen, 4 bar stools, couch, chair, and flat-screen TV. The screen between the bedroom and living area is very nice and convenient. It has all the necessities of home. It was nice and easy to have a "code" for the door rather than having to use a card all the time. The only negative thing I could say was that maybe the TV could have had more channels than the basic ones, but we are used to 200 at home! The Ilikai is also a bus ride away from downtown Wakiki where there are great restaurants, hotels, great shops, and an international market. What a WONDERFUL place this is to forget your troubles and enjoy life to the fullest!

The unit is so clean-i wore white socks around and they STAYED white!! I can't find a hotel room where that happens. We had the feeling of our own little secret get a way nook. The owners provide everything you could possibly want or need during stay in the condo. The building itself is beautiful and i never felt unsafe once. The staff is always visible and making improvements. There is also security in the lobby if needed. The location is great and you can walk in either direction out the front door and find reasonable food, entertainment, and necessities. I would recommend that you find a trolley schedule/guide upon arrival as they pass by the hotel every 10 minutes and can make getting to other locations much more fun and interesting as well as allowing for a unique tour experience! Pack your sunscreen and expect the rest to be handled in 1530! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed in this condo for 8 days and I would definitely recommend it. It is small, but great for 2 people or possibly a third. I wouldn't put 2 couples in it. The fold-out bed was uncomfortable and lumpy, but I understand a new egg-crate mattress has been ordered. The kitchen works good and there is a good lanai. If it was mine, I would get rid of some of the extra pillows and flowers, etc. It is small enough that they just get in the way. Although there is an assortment of beachchair type things, they are all heavy and bulky enough to discourage anyone from taking them to the beach a second time. However, these are very minor annoyances and I would definitely stay there again.

We did go to the beach and traveled around Waikiki via the Trolley. The information package that was left in the room was helpful. I would recommend this condo to anyone keeping in mind that it is better suited for a couple. Kids would be OK on the sofa but another couple in the condo would would make it small. Aloha Condos and Rocco were excellent in all dealings. We particularly appreciated the early check-in after our early arrival from Australia. We were impressed with the cleanliness and full stock of linen for our stay. Our previous four stays in Hawaii have been in expensive tiny hotel rooms around Waikiki; staying in a full size apartment and preparing our own meals, without housekeepers arriving when they were free, was a pleasure. We are so pleased we had taken advice from a Canadian couple we had meet in 2008 at Ala Moana Mall who recommended Aloha Condos. Ilakai Hotel is obviously having a full make-over, but the construction work did not interfer with our stay. When the hotel shopping mall reopens and the construction work ends, we would rate the overall experience at five star!!

Location: you just cannot beat it. Not in the middle of Waikiki is so much better so that you can have peaceful nights. Parking: you have to use valet service, and $18/day might not be cheap, but boys are always there with smiles and at the end, I really do think it is worth it. I hate driving around looking for parking spots anyway. View: sunsets were so beautiful! Kitchen stuff: everything worked, and plenty of plates, mugs, utensils etc. absolutely no problem. Bed: bed was firm and nice. I wish you had different type of pillows though. They were too soft for us. Bathroom: everything worked: Maybe you might want to add a small size of soap for the sink, and leave a larger one for shower for guests convenience. Keyless entry: first we had some problems locking, but once we figured it out and once we memorized the number, this was the best idea. Why anyone wants to use card key! Imagine losing the room key at the sandy beach!! We stayed for 8 nights and we needed to change sheets during our stay. I noticed you had only twin sheets sets on the selves. Maybe you should change them to Queen size, just in case of guests longer stay like ours.

Service getting the condo was very good. No question has to what to do. Location was good despite the new building and noise outside every morning. Good things -- kitchen was well stocked with dishes, etc. the dishwasher a great plus. Lighting generally fine. Not so good things - the bedding was terrible. The plastic sheet on the bed made it feel like you were in the hospital and it made the bed too hot. Bad! Also, one small bar of soap for both handwashing and shower for ten days for two people seemed pretty stingy. Toilet paper for two for ten days was not enough and we bought our own as that provided was of very poor quality. Need to do better with the bathroom stuff. Other than that a great time. Thanks.

Building across the street still undergoing renovation but, other than a slight eyesore, it did not bother us. This room was very quiet, no noises from adjacent rooms nor from outside. This is not in the heart of Waikiki, but only a 20 minute walk to the International Marketplace. We enjoyed being a bit away from the crowds and the extra walking was good for us. The only difficulty we encountered was with the $250 security deposit authorization on our credit card...seems the funds transferred out of our account but the owner shows no record of receiving funds on their account. Still working with banks to resolve, check your bank statements carefully if you book here. Even though I had to make my own bed each day, it made for a much more relaxing vacation as I didn't feel as though I had to hurry out in the morning so the housekeeping staff could come in. The only thing that would have been nice would be a couple more bath towels. Found that I had to launder towels twice while I was there a week. Overall the condo was wonderful, clean, quiet, and well furnished. Even the construction going on across the courtyard was not a problem. We had a wonderful time. The condo was perfect for a relaxing holiday and had everything we needed. There were 3 issues: the shower didn't drain and we were standing in 3 inches of water and we couldn't get the alarm to work. We were also disappointed to find the apartment block opposite (which is shown in the promotional photos/video) was under construction and not very pleasant to look at. Other than that, we thought the keypad was fantastic - no worries about losing keys at the beach. The location was great - very central.
Manager response:
Aloha--
We are glad you had a relaxing time in our condo. We wish, however, that you had let us know about the problem with the drain. We have a local contact that is available most any time, and a very responsive plumber that would have been able to fix the drain problem very quickly.
The building next door is being worked on, and progressing quickly, the bulk of exterior construction should be completed by the end of the year.

But it was nice to hear the Hawaiian music program every Friday evening while sitting on the lanai. Go to the restaurant on the 30th floor, go for happy hour and and early bird dinner (a lot less expensive) the view is breathtaking!! One thing I hope the owners might add would be beach chairs, umbrella, and a small ice chest to use on the beach. Luckily there was no renter the next day. He quickly arranged the cleaning person to come later on and allowed us to stay until night, so that my Mom had some good rest. Rental was clean and well taken care of. Cozy bed with nice sunset facing view, although a few buildings naturally get in the way. Located close to Aloha towers and chinatown. Very quite in the building and very private - no tourists mad dashing for the elevators. Owners are very attentive to your needs and respond quickly to your requests and questions. Just be aware of a few minor caveats: 1. Parking is not fun - must weave around to the 7th floor to get parking. If you don't make arrangements with owner to get a hand tag parking is very expensive. Hand tag parking only accepts cash so be prepared to shell out. Persoanlly owner should have a space in the garage and let you use it. Additionally, getting into the parking garage is a pain, so many one way streets, if you don't come straight down Bishop you are gonna be frustrated. Street noise is a problem in the morning. Bedroom needs real curtains, blinds don't keep the sun out so it is a great alarm clock in the morning. Although there is a Long's drug at the base of the building, it and most other businesses close early since you are downtown so plan ahead. The kitchen in the condo is small and slightly sparse, just a small cooktop, a microwave and a small toaster oven, but it was ok for light cooking. ONe other warning, this unit cannot really sleep 4 in my opinion. Thehre is one queen bed in the bedroom and a small swivel couch in the living room/kitchen - can't see how one person- let alone 2 could sleep in it. Fair price for what you get though and being downtown especially for business was a plus.
Very nice place

The condo was just as the photos show, a very lovely place. It was clean and pleasant. There was construction going on and it was pretty loud one day. One of the pools was not available and a couple of restaurants weren't available. Which is too bad, we would have enjoyed having a cocktail lounge on site. Hopefully the remodeling has been completed.

Great property, especially our actual condo. Very clean. Very comfortable. The only thing we missed is being in the heart of Waikiki. We bought a bus pass but sometimes I felt like we wasted time waiting for buses instead of being exactly where we wanted to be. Every night we headed for the night shopping and it felt a ways away. For the price and cleanliness and feeling like we had a home away from home, the Ilikai and this specific condo was superb.

The room and location were nice. This is the first time I stayed in a Condo and I enjoyed the experience. I liked not worrying about when housekeeping needed to get in to the room. I enjoyed having the kitchen especially for breakfast. The room could use some updates (blinds/curtains worn) and the bathroom needed a vent. The only real problem we had is one late afternoon out keys didn't work. I called Aloha Mangement and they were extremely helpful and sent security to let us in the room. Unfortunately, security was not helpful. He told me I had to go to the security office to get the key reset. He gave very vague instructions how to find the security office and left. It was at the back of part of the parking garage - and involved going down multiple hallways that were not marked. I would have been very uncomfortable walking in that area if it would have been night. Since it is difficult to find I would have preferred if security would have escorted me to the correct location.

We stayed at one of the simple, yet fantastic Ilikai apartments and I cannot stress enough how much it enhanced our stay. The location is prime. Within walking distance there is a nearby mall with an enormous grocery, tons of shopping, restaurants - and most importantly the beach. It's easy to access from the airport with the shuttle bus (and it was the first drop off, last pick up, so we didn't spend much time commuting). When we arrived there were notes from the Aloha Condos, along with a tote bag (great for groceries and souvenirs!), and travel pamphlets about what was going on. The apartment itself was perfect and really felt like we were coming home at the end of the day. Not only that, it was outfitted with a great kitchen area, so we could purchase food and beverages rather than eating every meal out. Laundry was right down the hall and the TV and internet were simple luxuries we appreciated. Since we have returned from our trip we have told many friends about the apartment and will undoubtedly look for this or a similar property when we return back to Hawaii. Thank you for making Hawaii even more attractive for those traveling on a budget!

comfortable apartment with necessary equipment; good location and easy access to the beach. It was nice to get a call from aloha condos to see how we were doing. upon arrival we found the door locked and had to call security to open the door; keycard was inside the apartment. we were then not recognized as guests of the hotel. There was no cleaning during our stay (6 nights), although we were charged for it.
Manager response:
The doors to our condos are always locked, for safety, and the doors at the Ilikai Hotel lock automatically for safety. Instructions on how to get to and into your condo are mailed to you when your final payment is made. We also send out a reminder 10 days before arrival to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. In all of our correspondence we have contact information for our reservationist and/or owner, and also our local contact for that condo.
As guests of a private apartment you are not guests of the Hotel.
Aloha Condos offers vacation rentals for our guests and there is no daily touch-up cleaning although it can be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. The cleaning fee pays for the cleaning to be done after you leave to prepare the condo for the next guest. Included in that fee we make sure you have plenty of bedding, towels, and paper products (paper towels, toiler paper). We also have soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.

Got a great deal on the value of the Condo for the few days that we stayed. Condo is right beside the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was nice to be able to walk down to the Hilton Lagoon and use that area to access Waikiki. Don't valet the car with the building. There is public parking behind the building with really low hourly rates. Within walking distance (10min) to all Waikiki has on the main shopping strip and Waikiki Beach.. Overall, I would definitely recommend this condo and would consider staying again if I go back to Honolulu.

the room was super clean when we got there, great view of the city, and it was really nice to have our own kitchen because many of the restaurants on waikiki beach were pricy. the air conditioning was also a great feature because it was very hot while we were there. Definitely recommend this place to travellers! One thing that disappointed me was when we had to check out, my boyfriend forgot his shoes in the closet. when we came back a few hours later they were gone. We tried to phone the number given to us if we had any questions or problems and it was no longer in use. The concierge downstairs couldn't help us because it was a condo not a hotel room, so the cleaning service was privately hired. A little disappointing, but did not ruin our trip.

I took my 6 year old for a Hawaiian vacation in October and we stayed at the Ilikai in Waikiki. Suite 2021 had a huge king size bed and a lanai overlooking downtown, which was cheaper than overlooking the beach but with massive construction at the hotel next door combined with the cars on Ala Moana Blvd we found it to be quite noisy. The room itself was clean and well stocked, with beach towels and a few beach toys and a good kitchen with everything you'd need to cook up some meals. It is a short walk to the Ala Moana shopping centre with a great food court and of course lots of shopping. Walking out the rear of the hotel you first come to a wonderful lagoon with calm waters and a nice clean beach. From there you are on Waikiki beach and have access to all the surfing and shopping within a few minutes walk. I would definately recommend a stay at this hotel!

In addition to Condo 1531 being very tastefully decorated there is also a lovely view and the location is perfect. It's an easy walk to everything. The only possible down side I can think of is it is on the small side. It worked well for us (2 people), three may be a crowd for this size unit. All in all, we loved it. My wife and I decided to go to Hawaii to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. My wife spent months on the internet trying to find just the right holiday. She looked at all of the different hotels and weighed the plus' and minus'. We finally decided on Unit 1639 at the Ilikai. What a great call. We loved this suite. We actually had friends come with us and they stayed in a different room at the Ilikai so we were able to do a little comparison while we were there. Although their room had two beds there was no storage so they had to live out of their suitcases. We had nice big clothes and linen closets. Their room felt like a hotel room, ours felt like a home. They did not have the same services as us, such as free internet, free long distance, and our tv service was better. Although we loved the rest of Waikiki, this room was the highlight of our trip. The view of the marina is great and the sunsets are fantastic. The Ilikai is located at the end of the beach but this was not a problem for us. It is no more than a short walk to anything. We will happily stay in this suite at the Ilikai again.

My family and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay in Unit 1639 at Illikai Hotel and Apartments. We loved every moment from the friendly greeting by the Porter who helped us with all our bags to the great location only minutes walk from Ala Moana Shopping Centre and Waikiki shops/beach. The owners have created a very comfortable unit although within a small area. It is probably better suited to just one couple, however we had our 11 and 12 year old daughters with us and they were comfortable enough sleeping on the fold out couch. I must admit given the cost I had warned my family not to expect much having stayed at places up to that point that were 2 or 3 times the price, however once I opened the door we were all blown away at how beautifully the unit was furnished. Also the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a family meal etc if you wanted. The views from the balcony over the harbour were also quite relaxing. Overall I found the unit much quieter than previous accommodation we had stayed in at Waikiki Beachwalk. The only thing that would make this unit better would be if it had laundry facilities but there really isn't the room. There may be facilities elsewhere within the complex, to be honest I didn't ask. The owners may like to replace the locks getting into the unit as we found them a bit tricky sometimes to get open. Other than that I would honestly say that if you are a couple looking to stay in Honolulu you couldn't do any better. Thoroughly recommend and if we come back to Honolulu it is definately where we will stay!

What I was delightfully surprised about was the super high thread count sheets on both the master bed AND for the pull out couch. In addition, the bath towels were luxureous! We had just finished a 6 night stay at the Hyatt down the road and the quality level of linens here blew the Hyatt away!! Thank you sooooo much! I loved that everything we could want or need in the condo was there. My children especially loved having the use of a boogie board and I loved the beach chairs. The only thing that I could complain about was that there was construction going on at the building next door and so we could not enjoy the lanai in the morning or afternoon because the jack hammering was too loud.

Really good interior design -- its a small space, but the layout really compliments the area so you never feel cramped or overcrowded by the furniture. Very modern and very clean. Although the boats were not much to look at, the sunrise/sunsets from this condo were awesome. You can even spot the surfers on the distant beach, and see regular cruise ships and freighters pass by. Our only concerns were the sliding door lock and the main bed. We had our 3yr with us, and there was no way to securely shut the door -- so ended up barricading the doors at night with furniture...lol. That and the main bed was really uncomfortable -- our son definitely scored with the comfy sofa bed. Re: Ilikai in general - many stores downstairs (lobby area) and the on-location restaurant were boarded up and vacant during our stay, so it has seen better days. The hotel next-door (what you see from lanai) is still undergoing renovation, but construction noise was not an issue. So barring the lobby area, the courtyard gardens were gorgeous. Plus every evening they light the torches outside and have a brief conch shell ceremony around sunset. Also has to be mentioned -- the shared lagoon in walking distance directly before the beach was awesome. They stock it with tiny fish, so all the kids had a blast trying to spot/chase/catch them. Turned out to be a lifesaver when we found out our son thought the sound of waves was 'too scary'!
Manager response:
Thank you for comments about our condo.
I will work to get a lock added to the sliding door to make it more secure in the future. Also, you mentioned that the main bed was uncomfortable. This concerns me greatly because I would like all of my guests to sleep well. Other guests have commented that the bed is extremely comfortable. It is a high quality mattress which was purchases just a few months ago.
I value your feedback and will email you asking if you could offer more information.
Your comments are greatly appreciated.

The Ilikai is not as well maintained as we would have hoped. The neighboring hotel (which is part of the view) appears to be condemned or forgotten, with windows papered over and a pool full of brown water. The condo itself was nicely appointed, but the building fire alarms went off repeatedly in the night, requiring us to at least get up and call the desk, and at worst carry our frightened 5-year-old down many flights of stairs in the middle of the night. Could be a nice vacation spot after building and area maintenance are completed.

The condo had a great location and view. Overall it was clean and neat except for the couch which was very worn and did not fit the rest of the condo. The real issue came when it was time to go to sleep. It was a one bedroom with a pull out couch. Since it was me and my brother there for a wedding we really needed the couch and it would not open. After spending the first 2 nights sleeping on the couch, which was beyond old we found an air mattress and he used that the rest of the week. This condo said it slept 4 and if you went there with 4 in mind you would have been disappointed. If you were a party of 2 sharing the bed I would highly recommend. The location, the view, the overall look and feel of the lobby were great.
Manager response:
Aloha drewmiester!
Mahalo for staying with us.
We sincerely apologize for the sofa. Unfortunately, due to the remoteness of the islands, it took longer than than we expected for the custom ordered replacement sofa to arrive; the Serta air mattress that we put in the unit was a temporary solution until the sofa arrived.
We now have a brand new sleeper sofa in the unit!
Mahalo for your feedback!

we enjoyed our stay at the condo. The ad on the site stated a queen bed and a bed setee. when we arrived and tried to use the bed settee --it was broken. We eventually got the bed settee pulled out but could not retract it ,therefore it became an issue during the day for space ..we discovered a blowup bed in the closet a few days later . this was comfy but took up a lot of room . If we deflated it every morning then we had to blow it up every night .. We wish we had been told about this before we arrived or when we arrived and did not have the hassle of finding it out for ourselves. Everything else was good and if the settee was fixed --would recommend this condo. Liked the view and location .

We had a nice 6 day stay at this condo in May. The Ilikai hotel building itself is a little outdated, and I'm used to staying at nicer hotels (Westins are usually the standard), but when I entered the condo itself I was pleased. It was updated, clean, and had a nice view. The couch was a little beat up, but no big deal. We really liked having a kitchenette in the room since we had a 2 year old and a newborn, and eating breakfasts and lunch in the condo was much easier than eating out each day. We parked at the Marina Parking garage across the street...which was a little inconvenient but not too bad ($20 or so per day). It was about a 10 minute walk to get down to the beach which was really cool. About the only draw back was the fact that we overlooked the Hilton's lagoon pool, with waterslides and such, and I was extremely jealous because the Ilikai's pool was pretty basic. Other than that, it was a nice stay and a good deal.
Very pleasant stay!

Studio apartment was very adequate for two adults -- nice partial ocean view, comfy king-sized bed; full kitchen including full-size frig, stove with oven, & generous supply of dishes & cook/bake-ware. Metered and pay-and-display parking is handy about a 1-minute walk out the back door for 25-cents per hour (free for handicapped, if you call and ask the parking company) or Ilikai has a valet garage (more expensive). Nice location for restaurants. Easy walk to main part of Waikiki Beach (beach towels provided). We already plan to stay there, if possible, when we go again (military son stationed on Oahu). You can even watch the Hilton Luau from the balcony (Hilton is almost next door). Closet was "divided" so difficult to hang dresses and tall-man's pants, and not much of a place for suitcases. Most of ground floor shops were vacant -- Ilikai may be in bankruptcy proceedings (in the late-May news), so we're a bit nervous about arriving to find everything closed and locked up tight. Managers were very accommodating of our many questions and when we wanted to extend for an extra day.

We visited Waikiki for 6 days and found this condo to be excellent. We were in Hawaii for a wedding and it was somewhat satisfying to have other friends of ours (who were staying in other hotels) tell us how jealous they were of our condo, and how much nicer it was than their room. All in all the condo had everything we needed, and was an extremely nice room. I plan on using Aloha Condos when I visit Maui next year.

After a week of research I chose Aloha Condos and condo #1540 at the Ilikai Hotel and Apartments. Upon our arrival I became the instant hero of our family! My husband was thrilled because it was a great value and my children were beside themselves ready to go to the lagoon which is the first thing they saw as they ran to the lanai to get their first glimpse of their world for the week. The communication with Aloha Condos was excellent and professional-what you see online is really what you get and more. We had everything we needed and the condo was equipped perfectly. We went to the Foodland in the Ala Moana shopping center on our first day for breakfast supplies and snacks- the kitchen had everthing and their was even a cooler in the condo for our adventures! We took advantage of the beach chairs and sand toys that were there as well. Everyone was very nice at the Ilikai especially the valet parkers- *hint* you can deal with them on parking. My husband got them to agree to $18 a day instead of $25. It was well worth it- we never had to wait over 2-3 minutes for our car and they always asked if we needed directions etc. Our beds were comfortable, the water pressure was excellent and we really felt like it was our home for the week. The last thing we did was stand on the lanai and enjoy that view as a family and my 15 year old son said, "Thanks for the best vacation ever" Thank you Aloha Condos, we will visit again and recommend you to all or friends.

The apartment was exactly as shown on the rental website. It was clean and well equipped and had a great view of the ocean. The outside of the building isn't very attractive and could use some updating. One pool was under renovation but we found chairs easily enough at the other pool. You can walk to the beach but it is a little rocky at the end we were at..so you had to walk a bit further down the beach for nicer sand...but considering the price we paid for the rental - we were very pleased that we were able to be on Waikiki beach at all! We walked to most everything. Transit is easy to figure out and we took it a few times including to Pearl Harbour. We took a few bus tours as well and were picked up right at the building. Parking is an issue in Waikiki so it was nice to get around without renting a car. We went to the Big Island the second week and Needed a car to get anywhere! My only complaint is the elevators were slow and not all working. I would stay there again in a minute.

Proximity to the pool, lagoon, beach, buses & Ala Moana Shopping Centre, Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks as well great bars and restaurants made this quiet condo ideally located. Its location in the building is also good - great marina outlook, close to lift lobby, laundry and refuse areas. Excellent and responsive on site property management. Only drawback - no drawers at all, except for narrow one in the bedside centre table and those in the kitchen. There is no baggage storage at the Ilikai. For early morning arrivals into Honolulu this can be a problem as entry to the condo on the commencement date is 3pm.

We stayed at the condo for 3 nights. It was exactly as I expected, based on the Aloha Condos information on the internet. The condo was just like a home away from home; right down to the decor! Loved it!! I even made scones for breakfast...good thing you had cookie sheets available. I would have preferred a bit more storage space (a dresser?) and hooks in the bathroom but for the 3 nights, storage wasn't a problem. I kept the clothes in the suitcases. It might be more of an issue if there were more than 2 people staying in the unit. The view was amazing. We much prefer this location over the busy/noisy Waikiki area. We stayed at a hotel "in the action" the week prior but much preferred the condo. location - enjoyed the quiet beach side by the Hilton, loved going for a 15min walk to the restaurants, shops of Waikiki but then coming home to quiet. Parking was a great deal as well! And, thank you for the internet service; it was extremely valuable to us. I have already recommended this condo.to others! Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful space for us to relax in. The lanai was well done and very comfortable. Good amount of space. Hope to be back soon.

My son and I really enjoyed our stay at Iliaki 1927. The condo was very nice, modern, clean and suited our needs perfectly, all the comforts of home. The open floor plan made the unit actually seem larger. The bathroom was nice and much larger than we anticipated. The view from this condo is awesome anytime of the day. In the mornings we could see the mist from the mountains, and the rainbows over the ocean. Many times we saw a number of sailboats. We watched the sun set and the enjoyed the nightly conk shell ceremony and lighting of the torches. The lights at night, from the mountains and the city were like twinkling candles. From the distance we could see flights coming and going from Honolulu airport. The location of this condo is another inviting feature. Many activities are within walking distance, the bus and trolley are also easily accessed. The beach is right behind the building and is easily accessed by the walkway. We enjoyed our early morning walks down the beach, and again at night to select a different beach front restaurant. The owner of this condo was excellent to work with. We hope to return one day! We spent a week in Waikiki and loved it. This was the very first time we stayed in a vacation rental. The owner was very accommodating and replied back to our questions very quickly. Prior to arrival we were very nervous of what the rental would be like. We did not know what to expect. When we arrived, the condo was exceptionally clean and larger than expected. The furnishings were all new and the kitchen was supplied with all we needed. It was nicely remodeled and equivalent to a four star hotel room. The view was absolutely gorgeous. We were just mesmerized by the view. The convenience of the keyless lock was terrific. The location was good, next to the Hilton and the lagoon. We parked behind the hotel at the marina with in and out privileges and saved $15 a day. The only down side of staying in a condo vs. a hotel is it doesn?t have maid service. You do not receive a fresh set of towels everyday nor does someone come to vacuum or clean up. And that?s the last thing you want to do on vacation is clean up everyday. But for the price of the condo rental we had to compromise. There is no way we could have found a four star hotel room with a fully stocked kitchen and a beautiful view for the price. We definitely recommend this condo and would stay there again.

It is also within walking distance to many places and if we needed to take the bus we only had to go just out to the front of the building to catch it. I would defiantly go back again.

For those of you that don't know, the Ilikai has condos (owned by various owners and companies) and hotel rooms (run separetely from the condos). With 2 trips to Oahu this year, one of with I extended twice, I've had the opportunity to stay in this condo, a condo owned by a different owner in the Ilikai, and 2 hotel rooms in the Ilikai. I feel this gives me a unique perspective on this condo. I was completely satisfied with my stay in this condo. Now, my previous stay was in a different condo, which had nicer furnishings and an ocean/marina view. However, that comes with a price: roughly 50% higher cost, and that's one of the cheaper 'other' condos. You'll have to determine for yourself if that's worth the price difference; for me, it's not. The condo is nice and clean, and was mainly a home base for me; and I'd spend almost all my waking hours out experiencing Hawaii, not hanging out in my condo. Communication with the owner all went smoothly. There are a lot of amenities; iron & ironing board, beach towels, a small cooler, and more. I also liked how the TV system has a DVR; it allowed me to record a show I really wanted to watch, but at a time I knew I'd be out. NOTE - The owner gave me some info on parking, but due to recent changes, it's out of date. The previously cheap lots behind the Ilikai, near the Marina, just changing their costs, to $1 per hour, PREPAID. They monitor them, and they'll tow your car if it's still there and your time expires; hard to always predict ahead of time exactly when you'll leave. Also, the Ilikai recently reduced their valet parking from $25 to $18, with in-and-out privileges.

We recently returned from our first trip to Hawaii, a long trip from Eastern Canada and somewhere we have wanted to visit for some time. For the first 3 days we stayed in 1721 and were very happy with the location and the condo. There is nothing the owners haven't thought of and provided for the benefit of those staying there. A very clean place suitable for 2 [ the pullout would be ok for children but it would be a little tight]. We loved the king size bed, the bathroom ,the kitchen and the large screen TV. The view from the lanai is of the city and helped us get oriented. It is also the cooler/shaded side of the building, not a bad thing when it is hot. The air conditioner in the condo is well positioned[ not too near the bed]. The cleaning service and local contact was super. We would definitely stay here again.

The condo was clean and lovely, and provided a peaceful respite at the end of each busy day. The unit is very soundproof - when you open the sliding glass door to the balcony you hear all the noise that is blocked out. Everything I needed was provided - soaps, dishes, beach items, extra towels and linens, etc. I hope to return to Hawaii again some day, and would happily stay in Unit 1721 again. I am grateful for the wonderful hospitality I received in this unit.

My husband and I took a short 3-day break in Honolulu and found this condo to have all the accommodations needed to feel like home. In such an expensive city, it was great to have a full kitchen to prepare our meals. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was fully equipped. We loved the location, surrounded by parks and with the shopping center nearby. We are NOT beach people so we definitely enjoyed the satellite HDTV, appreciated having internet service and the balcony was a great place to read the paper, relax and take in the city surroundings (although if you are looking for sunset views over the water, choose another condo.) The only things that we did not like is the couch, which we found to be rather uncomfortable and the somewhat musty odor. While the Ilikai is obviously going through some tough times (most of the storefronts and restaurants are closed) I was glad to see that their business center offered free airline check-in so we could print our boarding passes in advance. If we ever return to Hawaii, this is the only way we would go.

Our stay in condo 1721 was outstanding. For only $75 a night we were able to experience the very best Waikiki had to offer. We have stayed in Waikiki 3 time before and were a little worried about the location but it was by far the best location we stayed at. Ala Moana was a short 5 minute walk away and the lagoon was the perfect place to take a 5 month old baby swimming in, not to mention the free parking (although for how long I'm not sure) that was on offer in the public parking lot near the lagoon. The condo was beautifully clean and VERY well-equipped, it had copious utensils and plenty of clean linen. I have already recommend Aloha Condos to several friends and one of them has already booked a stay. Your website is going from strength to strength (we used it last year for a stay at Napili Bay). It is convenient and user-friendly (especially for international visitors who find it hard to ring internationally with the time difference)I will definitely use your service a third time and know it will remain prompt, efficient and represent excellent value for money.
