Maui Kai Beach Resort #206 is a studio, second floor condominium, with approximately 500 square feet of living space that was finished as a remodel in May, 2007. This luxurious central air-conditioned condo has outstanding views of the Islands of Lanai to the south and Molokai to the north. It is the northern most property on the beautiful Kaanapali Beach in West Maui and located just two miles north of the Historical town of Lahaina, the whaler’s village in the days of sail. Maui Kai Beach Resort location resides between the properties of Sunterra Resort and the Mahana Resort, an ideal location from which to enjoy all of Maui’s various activities.
Lanai
This unusual unit has its lanai integrated into the Living Room at the very end. It serves all the purposes of a lanai and you are out of the wind and rain, yet having the opening just as you are in a regular protected lanai. The nice features are that you can eat your snacks or meals right at the slider windows or enjoy a libation and watch the day or night. The oceanfront view from Maui Kai 206 is breathtaking at many times of the day. High tide, low tide, unbelievable red, yellow, and orange sunsets down “Sunset Alley” right in front of you are just some of the times that the view is so unusual. You are right in the Maui Kai, the nearest property in Maui to the surf, at the Pacific Ocean and when the surfs up you will see all kinds of sports from surfing, kite surfers, windsurfers, many of which are professional, going on right in front of the lanai area as well. You won’t want to wait to join in and go to our long beach and the surf for fun. Your own lanai area, out of the sun and wind, offers you a chance to take a break during the day, grab a drink, and watch flying fish, spinner dolphins, humpback whales from December to April, and the famous green turtles! You will want to spend time on your lanai area with breakfasts watching the clouds bringing on the day at Molokai, the early boats of all types, and especially that drink watching “Sunset Alley” directly in front of you.

Lounge around on the Tropical Flowered sleeper-sofa that is long enough to stretch out, or curl up during the day, or with the outer screens covering the lanai area, listen to the waves as they lap up onto the shore. Or you can rock in your swivel chair and watch the world go by! You can open the entry window and the windows in the lanai and have the tropical breeze waft through. Taper the lights and set any mood. Or you can close up and enjoy the air-conditioned rooms while watching the change in the day or the evening. Close the world out, put up your feet, relax and if you wish turn on the TV, with HBO and DVD/VHS along with a CD and iPOD player and other inputs. All of this is with binoculars, games, and a small in room library available for your needs. The art on the wall is from local artists and national artists. On Friday night, many are in Lahaina in the galleries. Now if you want to keep up on the net, the living room has a desk and chair setup with a high speed cable internet connection, or just to let the folks back home how fun it is by writing postcards or filling in the guest book.

Enjoy a wonderful night’s sleep on the new deep Serta mattress/box springs set. The white maple custom queen bed in this unit is a large wall unit that opens with a light pull from the wall and closes the same way. There are lights in the cabinet for reading. This unit leaves a lot more space even in this large studio for all your movement. All is there for your comfort. The entry and lanai area windows can be opened to gain a soft breeze shaped by the overhead fan on most days of trade winds in Paradise. There is a long master closet with floor to ceiling mirrored doors for your pleasure in the entry and a large chest of drawers directly opposite the bed.
Maui Kai 206 has central A/C in the studio along with an adjustable speed, ceiling fan. There is customized comfort in every room.
Dining

A gourmet kitchen lends to dining at home in Maui Kai 206. It offers so many options, from a dining table at the lanai for major meals to snacks. It is very special to enjoy the island food and to watch the deep blues to aqua of the ocean at different times of the day.
The Maui Kai offers free special coffees: Mocha, French Vanilla, Cappuccino, and regular coffee from 7-9AM each morning to wake you up and to get you on your way. The open air lobby is an invitation to take your morning coffee and go sit on a bench out front or a wall and observe the beckoning of the beach and the day. Take a picnic. There are coolers in the pantry. Food is easy to make or buy at the Star Market five minutes away.
Walk the beach! There are several restaurants within a five-minute walk on the beach. Our own room orientation book will guide you to our favorites in the area of all the restaurants.
Your gourmet kitchen along with the poolside BBQ grills, live music next door and several dining locations on a few beach entry steps away all give you variety every night.
Also, do not forget the car. There are numerous, outstanding restaurants, within ten minutes from the Maui Kai. There is Front Street in Lahaina, nightclubs in the hotels, several restaurants with international reputations, and of course those little hideaways.
Food is a major memory and experience of any Maui vacation in our Paradise!
Kitchen

The kitchen features white maple custom cabinets, on the entire horseshoe layout. It has aqua tile countertops throughout the kitchen, contrasting with the light maple cabinetry and light mottled grey colored tile floor. There is plenty of workspace for two between the island and the sink area to prepare total meals if you desire. There is a large pantry next to the refrigerator to put anything you care to store. The range is a glass topped electric with self-cleaning oven. Our kitchen features all the utensils you can normally use in the house and the BBQ along with that large microwave with exhaust. So prepare away! A full size dishwasher makes cleanup easy. The layout is an easy one in which to work.
Bathroom

The bath features a full-length shower and as you enter you see the state fish, the HUMAHUMA, short for a long 19 letter word, done by a Hawaiian artist in the tile. Three way mirrors on the sink allow makeup to be easier and that shaving chore a little easier. And there are several drawers on the custom white maple sink cabinet for keeping your supplies readily available, as if at home.
