Polynesian Shores 213, Lahaina Maui

 2 Bedroom Oceanfront Condo

Polynesian shores is a beautiful, recently renovated (2020) oceanfront resort on the charming, rocky shore of Honokowai, Maui, just 6 miles north of Lahaina- town. Enjoy swaying palms, fragrant plumeria trees, the calming sound of waves breaking against the shoreline, spectacular nightly sunsets, and unsurpassed ocean views of Molokai, Lanai, and Pailolo Channel. Observe sea turtles swimming close to shore in the warm shallow saltwater, and in the winter months, majestic kohola or humpback whales playfully surface, tail slap, or blow spouts in the air. Our spacious, lush grounds/complex are ideal for your vacation. Pamper yourself at our oceanfront swimming pool and spa. Picnic tables and barbecues are available for use and located on the water's edge. Investigate the seasonal beach or walk to local bars, restaurants, and stores within our complex; surfing and golfing are nearby. There is even a farmer’s market three days a week and on-site free parking and laundry. Condo 213 is a family friendly, no-pets, smoke/vape free unit with a direct oceanfront location and an unobstructed ocean view. In addition to our recent resort renovation, condo 213 offers new windows, doors, floors, staircase, and new tropical-themed living room furniture, along with other new amenities. In the condo, the louvered windows allow the cool natural ocean breezes (known as trade winds) to lull you to sleep and the ceiling and floor fans maintain cooling airflow during the hotter seasons. This is a 2-level condo with stairs and an entryway, living room with TV & sofa bed (queen), primary bedroom with king bed and primary bath, secondary bedroom (2 twin beds), second full bathroom, kitchen (with amenities), dining area, and lanai (porch with table and chairs) perfect for your Hawaii dream vacation. Come share the true meaning of Aloha with us at Polynesian Shores. less ↑

Wonderful vacation spot

Our winter stay was amazing at this comfortable and well outfitted condo. We watched whales from the lanai every morning and have seen lots of green turtles at the beach by the complex. Beautiful snorkeling at the Napili beach and perfect Kaanapali beach are within very short drive. Thank you, it was a wonderful stay! less

— Julia, Stayed 01/14/2024

Lovely, well appointed spot!

We stopped here on Maui for the final 4 days of a month around Hawaii. We added it as we read articles asking folks to come back. We are so glad we did! This 2 bd, 2ba condo looks straight at the water, is very well appointed for water living (coolers, snorkel gear, beach towels, noodles, chairs), and we enjoyed it all! We spent our days up at DT Fleming Park using the gear from the house and a grocery stop, and we visited a fish market to then grill at the property and eat on our lanai. Complex is about half short term rentals, and half residents. Pool is wonderful. Thank you! less

Amazing Stay

Unit 213 was the best choice for our family of 5. The view from the balcony was even more stunning in person! This unit had plenty of space, was beautifully updated and came supplied with so many things that vacationers need but can’t pack for travel. The grounds are beautiful and the unit was quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again! less

Paradise vacation

This was an amazing place! Great views, friendly people, turtles at the beach below, water aerobics at 8am, amazing sunsets, and I could go on and on. We loved our accommodations. We hope to return someday. Thank you! It was a dream come true.

— MaryLisa , Stayed 06/21/2023

Awesome stay

This is the place to stay if you want to relax without the big resort crowd. Very nice clean place has everything you need, great. ocean few, quite peaceful. Great friendly tenants that live there all year round. Definitely recommended

Revirw

We loved the our stay. The condo had a great ocean view. It was fully stocked and clean. There was no AC but we were comfortable with temps in the high to mid 70s with open doors windows and house fans. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was nice off the master bedroom. The grounds were beautiful. Nice pool and spa. less

Beautiful and Clean

The condo at Polynesian Shores was perfect. Great views, clean, good location and the owners were great. I will definitely refer others!

— Melinda , Stayed 04/23/2023

Absolutely awesome!

We loved this condo at Polynesian Shores. Well stocked with all sorts of beach equipment, bbq and kitchen supplies. The grounds are beautiful and it’s so peaceful here. The folks who run and look after the condo are incredibly helpful & super accommodating. Absolutely breathtaking views from the lanai, especially with the whales playing in the background. Mahalo plenty for letting us enjoy your slice of paradise. less

Beautiful Oceanfront

Elaine’s condo is beautifully appointed and has an amazing view of the ocean.whales, turtles and stingrays are right in front of you! Very quiet condo complex and very friendly residents. Conveniently located near restaurants and grocery stores but not in the busy areas.

— Wendy, Stayed 01/22/2023

Great stay

It was wonderful. Very clean, spectacular views. Beach equipment was plentiful. Condo was well maintained. Community was friendly. 6 of us stayed and even the pullout couch was comfy :) Enjoyed our stay

— Mary, Stayed 08/02/2022

Perfect location

The home was perfect for our needs. It's rests just on the beach, the kitchen was supplied properly, neighbors were polite, fans worked, assigned parking was close, the balcony view of the ocean was fantastic, the BBQ's worked great and were clean, the pool and jacuzzi were inviting to all, it was quiet (except for Friday when they were doing lawn maintenance), the beach items that were available were a HUGE hit -snorkle gear (we used our own), beach towels, umbrella, chairs, ice chest, boogie boards. The only thing for me that was a bummer was I didn't realize that it was a loft and privacy was at a minimum but it did not damper our fun. This condo saved us a lot of money vs two hotel rooms and we got to stay together as a family and spend quality time in one spot vs two hotel rooms. A great experience all around. less

Maui trip

Very nice place! Amazing view! We could see the whales migrating every day while having coffee on the patio. Nice and clean and has all supplies you will need. Make sure you get very clear instructions on entry lock. Would stay there again in a minute! Already planning our next trip back. less

— Kimberly, Stayed 03/20/2022

Beautiful condo with an amazing view!

Polynesian Shores is a small, conveniently located complex with the most incredible view. We really appreciated how responsive the owner/management team was when we requested an earlier checkin time. The condo was well appointed with everything you would need for a fun and relaxing vacation. We enjoyed using the beach chairs and snorkel equipment to snorkel at nearby beaches and coves. It was convenient to use the BBQ for a poolside dinner and fun to chat with other guests to share activity recommendations. The ocean-front lanai was a great place to enjoy our morning coffee and sunset cocktails! Can’t wait to return! less

— Denise, Stayed 11/29/2021

Absolutely appreciate and will be back for this apartment when I go to Maui Island again !

(a) Clean, tidy and well equipped with kitchen utensils for all status of tourist either stay for short or long trip. (b) Patio face directly to ocean/beach, and with the best direction enjoying sunset everyday ! (c) Owner is so kind letting us to check-in earlier(instead of waiting to 3:00 pm) and late check-out (instead of 11:00 am) so that we can adjust our time to catch our flight. less

Great Place To Stay

We truly enjoyed our stay in unit #213. The condo was very clean, well appointed, affordable and is perfect for a family of 4. Spending time on the lanai was very relaxing. Access to the unit was simple and the parking space is really close to the front door. I read in other reviews for this condo complex that the lack of A/C was an issue but with open windows and the ceiling fans at high, we didn’t miss A/C at all. The pool was a plus after a long day exploring the island. The only thing I couldn’t find was the sandy beach that I read about in other reviews that was adjacent to the condo complex, the tide must’ve been high whenever I looked but there are plenty of other beaches nearby. I would definitely consider returning to this unit for future trips. less

Polynesian Shores 213

The condo was very nice. The view was great and we had some family and friends stayed in 3 other condos there which made it very nice. We loved using the pool and BBQ area to have meals together.

— Mary, Stayed 08/22/2021

Polynesian shores condos is Awesome!

Polynesian shore condos was excellent! We had a party of 5 in a 2 bedroom and 2 bath, it worked out perfectly! The kitchen was fully equipped with pots, pans, silverware etc. There were fans in the condo to keep you cool throughout the afternoon when it got hot. The view outside our balcony was breathtaking! There's also a pool just in case you haven’t had too much of all the beaches in Maui. less

Maui stay

Beautiful place. Better than expected. We would book this place on a return trip. Thanks. Kent Festvog

— Kent, Stayed 02/25/2021

Fabulous stay!

Everything was better than expected at #213 and Polynesian Shores in general. It was beautifully remodeled and well appointed. The view is incredible and the vibe at the condos is professional but laid back. The pool and spa are wonderful! Seeing turtles right off the beach is awesome. Our family really needed a good break and this was the place! less

— Ellesa, Stayed 12/04/2020

Paradise

Polynesian shores was a beautiful place to stay. The furnishings were very nice and the view was to die for. We watched whales putting on a show for us the whole time we were there. The beds were amazingly comfortable as well as the living room furniture. We have only stayed at the larger resorts In Hawaii so I was worried that this would not have met my expectations but it was better than I expected. I would definitely stay here again. less

— Jane, Stayed 03/01/2020

Awesome staying

That was a beautiful vacation! The Polynesian Shores Condo was wonderful, so cozy, the view is amazing, the location is quiet, all the amenities you need are inside the condo! Highly recommend it!

— Eugene, Stayed 01/13/2020

Substandard

Aside from the TV's not working, light bulbs not working and lack of toilet paper and paper goods, we enjoyed our stay. Location is great, grounds are beautiful.

— Scott, Stayed 01/09/2020

Owner/Manager Response

Hi Scott, Mahalo for staying at our place! Regarding the TVs in the bedrooms, the resort just changed over to a resort-wide cable contract, and we just recently learned that this basic plan only includes a single TV connection. We are on island this week, so that we can install two additional cable boxes for the bedrooms, which will resolve the issue. Our apology for your inconvenience. Regarding TP, our cleaning team always leaves two full rolls in each bathroom. Any special requests are happily addressed by a simple call to our property manager. His number is included in the instruction sheet in the unit. Had you called him, he would have resolved your request. -Ray and Elaine

Amazing Stay

The unit is well stocked. Snorkel gear, boogie board, kitchen essentials and much more. The view is great and Turtles frequent the private beach. Would definitely book again!!!

Gorgeous View Through Heat Wave in May

Condo has million dollar view out the back windows and patio. Condo is as-advertised, and could easily accommodate 5. It was comfortably outfitted with table for 4 and additional seating. Unit was clean and kitchen was well-appointed. Lots of snorkeling gear and big towels available. There are 2 distinct sleeping areas - bedroom with two twins on the lower level and master in upper loft area. Then there is a sofa in the open living room that could accommodate at least one more. Great response from condo contact person - we needed some help with directions and with connecting to Wi-Fi. We got almost immediate response when we called. Condo was ready at the promised time. Cleaning crew appeared right at checkout time, as we were carrying out our luggage. We happened to rent during a heat wave in MAY, into the 90s. We hear this is unusual - and we certainly did not think about needing Air Conditioning so early in the season. The condo only has fans. So the place began to heat up daily, by 10 am. We would close all the windows and drapes to try to keep it cool. The evening breezes were slim - so condo did not cool down till 9 or 10 pm. Overall, the heat really drained us and left us without a place that we could comfortably return to during the day. Once the sun was down, the 2nd floor patio was a real treat! We had two other problems with the configuration. First was the preponderance of stairs - front door of unit is at the top of steep stairs to 2nd floor platform - with no elevators available. Then inside the condo is another set of steep stairs to the upper floor bedroom/bath. Since we were on extended travels, our large heavy suitcases were difficult to lug up all those stairs - we probably should have each packed two smaller suitcases instead. And the upstairs bedroom and bath is set up as an open loft with no doors for privacy or to block noise from the open family room and kitchen below. Any noise below was magnified upstairs. It was difficult to sleep upstairs once anyone was moving around downstairs. Overall, condo rental in Maui is very high. The price for this rental was reasonable compared to other units in this complex. The alternative would have been one of the newer resorts - at a much steeper price tag, especially to get 2 separate bedrooms. Next time we will probably spring for the higher price of one of the resorts to get elevators and air conditioning. less

— Cindy, Stayed 09/18/2019

Owner/Manager Response

Mahalo Cindy for choosing our condo for your stay. Glad that most everything was to your liking, excepting the items you mentioned. Of course these have long been advertised (no surprise); the wonderful trade winds are consistent throughout nearly the entire year, but unfortunately we do experience a very occasional heat spell combined with reduced airflow that make the natural cooling take longer into the evening. Aloha! -Ray and Elaine

Wonderful condo

This is a lovely condominium. Extremely comfortable and with a good feeling about it because of the decor, the good neighbors and a beautiful view of the sweeping lawn and glorious brilliant blue ocean. The deck overlooking no the ocean is large with a good sized table for dining. The decor was lovely. It is quiet, too, a bonus! The owner provided equipment for swimming and snorkeling. Although there is a fairly accessible, small beach at the edge of the property it is best for skilled snorkelers because the entrance is veryshallow with sea urchins. Good grocery store close by. The owner extremely communicative and helpful. less

Family fun

My family and I stayed here and we loved it. It was fully equipped with everything we needed as a big family and lots of space.. Downfall the icebox was not keeping our food cold enough my husband who’s very handy tried to reset it and it still did not work.also 2 out of 4 fans were broken ( no ac) but in the middle of summer please make sure the fans work it does get warm through out the evening and the fans were very dirty( which is very dirty) there was hair from prob guests after guests) I cleaned it for you.. other than that we loved it Mahalo Nui loa less

— Jeremy, Stayed 07/14/2019

Family friendly

A wonderful view in the mornings and at sunset, but very hot in the summer afternoons as it faces directly west. We decided to stay at this condo complex because it was advertised as quiet and mainly residential in nature. Unfortunately it did not live up this expectation. There were many large family gatherings so the pool was often very full, and the area loud. Neighbors on either side of the condo played music or TV at all hours of the night. We had to beg for silence several of our 9 nights between 10 pm - 3 am. The street side was also noisy. To secure a decent air flow during the heat of the day and at night, we had to open the street-facing windows. Needless to say, our sleep was compromised due to the traffic and the heat. The upstairs master bedroom needs a curtain over the street-side window so the light does not flood in from the outdoor lights. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms up to date. Beach equipment is sufficient, though chairs for 4 (not just 2) people would be appreciated. The complex grounds are neat and well maintained and the close proximity to excellent beaches is a plus. We would recommend this condo for out of season times and in the cooler months. less

Polynesian Shores, 213

Loved the location of this beautiful, and very well maintained, ocean front complex. Our unit was very clean, updated and stocked with all the amenities. If you are looking for a short climb down and over the lava rocks to the beautiful private beach where turtles sun in the afternoon, this is the place for you. less

— Ronda, Stayed 05/25/2019

Excellent

The location was spectacular! We loved everything about it. The best surprise was walking out the rock beach and being surrounded by a large community of sea turtles! They were everywhere! This was such a pleasant surprise. Accommodations were clean and perfect for a family of four! Loved that you had two twin beds for our older boys that do not like sharing a bed! The upstairs loft bed was very comfortable. We had everything we needed. The check out process was seemless and made very easy. Thank you and if we ever return to Maui, we would choose this location again. less

— Patrick, Stayed 04/26/2019

The Perfect Home Base

Really enjoyed our stay. The unit was well equipped, clean and beds were comfortable. The master suite was very spacious as well. The grounds were well maintained, the pool was fun and we enjoyed seeing the turtles on the small beach in front of the condo. We also liked the location, it was close to many of the destinations we wanted to visit. less

Beautiful Condo for our family of 4

We rented # 213 for a week from March 8th to March 16th, 2019. i would highly recommend this condo. The condo worked perfectly for our family which included 15 and 14 year old children. I would not necessarily recommend Polynesian Shores for a family (breaks my heart to say this as we have stayed here 3 previous times with our children). Positives: The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, beds comfortable and the check-in and out process was seamless and easy. No hassle all week. The view from the deck is amazing and we were able to watch the whales jump every morning and evening. You also have a prime seat for the sunset! We have stayed at Polynesian Shores at on 5 prior visits and would highly recommend this unit. Things to consider: The lower level bedroom was the "kids room" as it had two twin beds. The room faces the parking lot and the road. Our kids told us there was significant road noise in the lower level bedroom. This was not an issue for us as we had teenagers who slept through the noise. May not be a great fit for light sleepers or younger children. Also, ( and this has nothing to do with specifically with unit 213, but important to know when booking), Polynesian Shores seemed to be less "family friendly" than in the past. There are lots of rules at the pool, to the point we had someone come and tell our kids to stop playing a Marco Polo type game. They and their friends are all 14 and 15 and were not being disruptive. I would not book here again with my kids. Seemed to cater more to the retired crowd, or, child free families. Also, the main office staff made it abundantly clear they are not a concierge service and were not as friendly as in the past. Yet, when we clarified what we were asking for, they had a sheet which gave us all the information we needed. Highly recommend Unit 213!! I would not recommend Polynesian Shores for a family. less

— Judith, Stayed 03/21/2019

Owner/Manager Response

Hi Judith, thank you for staying at our unit. We’re glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay! Two minor comments: Regarding the downstairs bedroom, for future renters please note that the bed can be configured as either two twin beds or as a king bed. Regarding noise, we’ve had few complaints. We’ve found that closing the windows adequately deals with the road noise. Note that our road isn’t a major thoroughfare, but rather a neighborhood street with occasional car traffic. Regarding the pool rules, this is the first complaint we’ve received on this subject. The minor rules are in place to simply ensure both safety as well as ensuring that excessive noise doesn’t bother the neighboring units. Polynesian Shores is a wonderfully friendly and family oriented property. We socialize in the evenings along the shore, but we expect that people will respect others by not being overly noisy, particularly after 10pm. This is simply common sense, and adds to the pleasure of everyone’s stay. Thanks again! -Ray and Elaine

Million dollar view

Beautifully situated condo, with an amazing view. It had all we needed for a great stay on Maui. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping! Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen! Thank you for sharing your place with us! It was a great experience!

Perfect for a quiet get away

My sister and I visited Maui for a long weekend getaway and this was the perfect place to stay. Polynesian Shores is a lovely, well kept and quiet complex and this condo had more than enough space for the two of us (we each had our own bedroom and bathroom). Sitting by the pool was very pleasant with the other guests being friendly and welcoming. We were easily the youngest there most of the time. The small beach that is just steps from the lawn is where we saw several turtles the morning we left. The only regret is that we wish we'd gone to that beach earlier in our trip and everyday! Mahalo for the lovely stay! less

— Johanna, Stayed 01/26/2019

Just what we needed

The Polynesian Shores Condo #213 was a last minute pick for a quick get away and served our purposes fine. It’s a smaller, traditional style complex with great views across the green inner courtyard framed by lovely palms. The condo was stocked with plenty of towels, soap and kitchen essentials, and even a some beach stuff like coolers, chairs and umbrellas. The upstairs bedroom is loft style—open to the room below. Parking is numbered and close to the unit. The location is good as it is on a bus line and close to grocery stores and restaurants. There is a laundry room on premise and not far away. Some of the condos are full time residents which is a plus. Number 213 has not been updated like some of the other units, and the kitchen cabinets could use replacing as they are worn and high on the walls making them difficult to utilize well. They are very responsive to your needs and proptly fixed a leaky shower and brought us a blender. In all we’d stay there again. less

— Henry, Stayed 12/11/2018

Fantastic View

We enjoyed our stay in the unit, it was clean, well furnished, and in a very beautiful spot. The unit was quiet and parking was designated and close to the unit. The only item missing was air conditioning, which we understand is not permitted in the facility. It would have made our visit more comfortable, but the ceiling fans helped reduce the bite from the heat. We do recommend the unit. less

— Patricia & Bob, Stayed 10/30/2018

A Magical Find

What an epic find. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants to get away from it all in the perfect spot. The location is fantastic with the pool and the beach right in front of you. Sunsets from the lanai are magic, and the turtles on the beach.... oh the turtles. I have been to Maui nine times previous to this trip, and I surpassed my turtle count from all the previous trips in the first two days at the Polynesian Shores. Met lots of great people at the BBQ, loved how Tim would light up the tiki torches every night, creating a truly quaint Polynesian community feel every evening at sunset. The condo is spacious, clean, and has everything one needs to instantly feel at home. The king size mattress is a bit soft for my liking and hurt my back a little but there are options and I slept on one of the single beds with my daughter in the downstairs bedroom. The area is quiet and only a short drive from some epic beaches, the blow hole and West Maui loop where you'll experience a lifelong banana bread bake off between two friends. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again in an instant if timing and availability work out in the future. less

— Marta, Stayed 08/27/2018

Fun place to stay

This is the second time we have stayed at the Polynesian Shores. The location is great, the view is amazing, and the property is very nice. We had a wonderful time staying there again. Everything was clean and comfortable. The only draw back was the lack of A/C in the humid August weather. I think this would not normally be an issue. It just happened to be very humid the week we stayed there. Otherwise it was fantastic. less

Great Get Away!

We had a wonderful time and the condo was perfect. This is our second time at Polynesian Shores and will definitely return again. This condo had a great view of the ocean. It was well stocked with supplies and clean. We loved snorkeling with the turtles right off the shoreline. Thanks for a great get away! less

Great place to stay!

It was a great condo! Beautiful. Sunsets were amazing! We arrived early and was made welcome! Great parking! Loved the open floor plan. Lovely breeze. Quiet hours were respected. Pool was nice. Appreciated the games, binoculars, and swimming noodles. Our location was great for turtle and dolphin viewing! less

— Sherry, Stayed 05/28/2018

condo 213

It was a nice condo, the only draw back was no AC. It was fully stocked and fit the needs of our two day stay. The view was great, no beach at all but according to some of the ladies at the pool who come every year, it had to do with the storms all winter and the lack of trade winds. Turtles in and among the rocks were awesome. less

— Nancy, Stayed 05/20/2018

Spacious Oceanside Condo

This is a fabulous property located conveniently close to amenities. You can whale watch from the balcony or look for turtles playing in the rocks below. The complex and grounds are well-maintained and the office staff are friendly and helpful. We appreciated the little "extras" at the condo like binoculars, beach towels, beach umbrella, snorkel gear and a boogie board. There was also a fair selection of DVDs and a well-stocked kitchen. No air conditioning, but the ceiling fans and floor fans kept the place comfortable. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the condo is tired and needs some updates. less

Amazing view!

Highly recommend Condo 213 for your stay in Maui. Oceansfront view could not have been better! We were 2 couples and it was roomy enough. Towels, snorkeling stuff, cooler, etc. were available and great to have. Would definately stay there again. Julia

Maholo!

This condo was perfect for our family of 4. Lots of room for everyone to have their space after a long day touring the island. Beautiful views off the lanai, the kids especially enjoyed watching the whales while eating breakfast. Condo is well stocked with all the comforts of home! less

Good location for home base

This condo is located in a excellent spot for home base on Maui. The lani overlooks the pool and the ocean with beautiful sunsets. It is not far from Front street in Lahania where all the "famous" shopping and banyan trees are. It a nice location to get to a lot of the things around the west side of Maui and not too far to explore other areas of the island as well. less

Great stay

The condo is in a great location. The view is very pretty with plumeria trees, the pool, and the ocean. Our bed was very comfortable. My husband and I stayed two nights with our children aged 22, 19, and 14. We had plenty of room. The kitchen is well supplied with non-food items. It was hot and we couldn't use one fan because it made a terrible screeching noise. A great breeze comes through when bedroom windows and patio door are open. We would consider staying there again if we ever go back to Maui. less

Our recent vacation at Polynesian Shore

Aloha Ray & Elaine, Our recent stay at your condo unit was one of our most memorable and we've been coming to Maui for 25 years. The unit was well furnished and equipped with extra room fans to keep things cool. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous view from the Lanai and the many sea turtles that come to rest on our little beach. We hope to return to Polynesian Shores very soon. Mahalo Nui less

We had a wonderful few days at the Polynesian Shores, Condo 213. The view from the condo was beautiful and the people very friendly. We especially enjoyed seeing all the sea turtles on the beach and in the waves right in front of the condo. We would definitely go back. less

Wonderful condo and complex

Three of us stayed at this delightful condo. Inside, it has everything one could want in the kitchen Including a rice cooker, and powerful blender for our smoothies. The living room has two chairs and a very comfy couch with tv and DVD player. There is a loft bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a closed off bedroom with two twins and a lower bathroom. It was nice to have the closed bedroom as my daughter caught a cold and coughing that kept her husband up at night. I wear earplugs and she slept in one of the twins for a couple of nights. There is a lovely pool literally steps from the condo and the garden is beautiful. Look for the turtle in the rocks at the ocean edge. The beach is quite small but you can walk or drive to so many. Fins, masks, beach towels, umbrella, and cooler bag provided. We did boogie boarding and left those for future rentersit on the lanai and watch the sunsets. WOW! There is a puu puu party (appetizers) every Thursday by the pool. Owners and renters were delightful. It has a very small town feel rather than a huge cold hotel. My only negative is really a half star off. There are overhead fans and floor fans but no ac in any of the units. We were there in 86 degree weather and the trade winds were good at keepin it cool if the doors were open. Lahaina is 20 minutes or so away so you can get snorkel or sunset cruises and get to a luau easily. The town is quite fun too. Mahalo and aloha less

Polynession Shores Review

We were fortunate to have stayed at this cozy yet beautiful condo from feb 20 thru March 4th 2017. We enjoyed watching whales and sea turtles every day from our lanai! Incredible ocean view. The condo was spacious and well equipped for 4 people. Also within walking distance to several restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed the pool. If you are looking for a quiet and family friendly place then polynesion Shores is for you. If we are ever fortunate enough to return this will be our first choice in places to stay. less

Ok Stay

This condo is fairly decent. The stairs inside and outside are frightening, especially the ones inside leading up to the master bedroom. One misstep and you are in serious danger. Entry into the unit was flawless however once inside there was a pile of beach towels laying on the stairs. The inside of the condo was fairly clean, but don't walk around barefoot or the bottom of your feet will turn black. I don't think the tile floor gets mopped. The drapes and screens on the front windows could use some repair and freshening up. Most of the furniture seemed dirty and wasn't very inviting to sit on. The ice maker doesn't work, so you have to make ice in the trays or buy ice. The master bed and bath were nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. There is NO air conditioning which we were aware of and really wasn't an issue as the unit gets very good airflow if you open up the front windows and the sliding door as well as using the ceiling fans. This condo does have an amazing view straight to the ocean. The lanai is spacious but lacks a bit of privacy. Conversations can be heard from adjoining units and on one side of the lanai your neighbor can peek around the wall and see you. I would be hesitant in renting this condo again. less

Polynesian Shores Condo 213

I visited this condo three years ago, I was impressed and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. However on this stay I was disappointed in many things. 1) The condo is definitely showing signs of wear and tear, i.e., stains on the wall, carpet on the lanai worn, stained and too big for the area. 2) The phones didn't work...thank goodness for cell phones. 3) The big fan in the living room was inoperable. A cheap floor fan was there to try to make up for the lack of air movement. 4) The noise level from the neighbors in condo 212. Children crying not only in that condo but from the many families visiting the complex. 5) The wi-fi being turned off on the morning before we were to leave. I have recommended this condo to many friends. Many have stayed and enjoyed this condo but I am obliged to now tell them, and others, to find different accommodations based on this latest stay. less

Condo 213

Our stay in January 2017 was wonderful! The condo was clean, well equipped and we slept with the patio doors open to listen to the ocean all night. Our kids loved the pool and even they commented on how close and friendly the community was at this location. We accidentally left an iPad at the pool and an hour later it was still there! We could see whales from the balcony and the sunsets were an event to watch each evening. Nice hotel restaurants (Dukes) were a 20 min walk south. A short walk was the beach park, market (awesome smoothies) and coffee shop. We would come back here again. We had one small issue with the screen door and the same day someone came to fix it. The service was incredible. less

Wonderful Weekend

Six senior ladies had a wonderful time enjoying the condo & grounds. We left the pool to the younger generations. Condo is nicely decorated (island style, love the wooden fish on the lanai), immaculate, sleeps six comfortably, plenty of towels. Ceiling fans keep it cool. Entry steps and the stairs leading to the loft are a wee bit narrow & steep for older folks, but manageable. Neighbors in the adjoining condo have been there 17 years & Erin (a guy with a girl's name is how he introduced himself) helped us with our bags. Next time on Maui we'll definitely book this place! less

Wonderful Stay

Our recent one month stay was very comfortable and the location couldn't have been better. From the moment we first stepped onto the lanai and viewed the incredible views, we knew our stay would be wonderful. The unit in our opinion has one of the best views in the complex. It is well equipped, roomy enough for more than one couple and very updated and clean. The addition of having boogie boards and snorkel gear was a huge plus and our family was able to swim with the turtles right in front of the property. Also, viewing the turtles sunning themselves on the rocks in a cove about 300 yds to the north was a real thrill, at one point we counted 14. Check in was a breeze with easy to follow directions. The complex itself is intimate enough to still give a sense of old Hawaii and Ohana. We found ourselves spending more time on the lanai just enjoying the view and incredible sunsets and never wanting to leave. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we will be back again. less

Extraordinarily perfect for family vacations!

We (family of 5) enjoyed staying in condo 213 very much. Everything was beautiful. From the ocean view from the lanai, to the hospitality, and to the friendliness of the owner, Roy. It was a delight enjoying all of our meals on the lanai with the view of the pool and the sea. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped and clean, the beds are very comfortable, the pool is extremely relaxing and the beach and snorkelling gear provided was a fantastic surprise for our family to experience new adventures in Hawaii and swim with fish and turtles. This condo is very spacious and is a home away from home. We would definitely recommend this condo to others, as well as return ourselves on our next visit. less

Sure sorry to hear that your visit was less than spectacular!  We've always found the trades to be very effective in cooling the unit with front and rear windows open. Cozy Little Place - Great Location - Incredible Views!

Stayed for 4 days in August. We loved the place. Very cozy, perfect kitchen. This place had everything you could ask for. Loved the cute decor, the modern kitchen and especially the view. Wow!!!! It was one of the hottest weeks on record in Maui, yet the fans made it bearable. The downstairs bedroom was actually quite comfortable in spite of the heat. We loved all the little details, including the fully stocked kitchen, hair dryer, extra pillows and towels and even flippers and snorkel masks! Would definitely stay here again. Hopefully we'll pick a cooler week the next time. less

We just returned from a wonderful stay in Condo 213! Loved the beautiful view, swimming with the turtles, and enjoying morning coffee and sunsets from the lanai. Loved our intro to scuba class with Brian at the Westin! Didn't have a single problem. Really appreciated all of the amenities - towels (bath and beach), comfy sheets, coffee and nuts, condiments, TP and paper towels, beach chairs and snorkel stuff! This Beach Condo was fabulous!

This Beach Condo was fabulous! We had a wonderful view from the balcony and ate all our meals there. The pool though small was lovely. The beach was amazing as were the turtles who swam there. One of the most fabulous things about unit 213 was the anticipation of every need. There were extra towels, beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkle gear, etc. We needed a flashlight....there they were with fresh batteries, tape..yup, every kitchen utensil one could ask for! Although there was no A/C, we were able to keep cool with the fans provided. It had everything we needed. The instructions were very clear as well. They had ocean gear which included boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and more. Unexpected Amenities

Very nice view and furnishings. Came with some things not listed that were greatly appreciated; binoculars, a number of beach towels, 2 sets snorkel gear with fins, 2 boogie boards, 6 beach chairs, and a "screw into the sand" large beach umbrella........score !

Great condo. Fully stocked with everything that we needed

Stay was wonderful. Great views of the ocean and of Molokai and Lanai from the lanai. Modern appliances throughout the house with cable TV made the stay much more enjoyable. The coach in the living room is a bit old, but that is a minor compliant. The unit does not have AC, but you get a nice cool breeze when you open the front door and the lanai sliding door. Walking to the beach takes less than 5 minutes, although the beach itself is pretty rocky. Next to the beach there is an area where you can snorkel and we often saw giant sea turtles just hanging out there. Would definitely consider staying again in unit 213 in the future. Note that you definitely need a car if you are staying here as there are not that many business in a walking distance. Kapalua and Kaanapali are all within 10 mins if you have a car. There is public transportation right outside the complex if you want to do that though. less

Quiet, Clean condo with friendly home atmosphere.

We were very pleased with the Polynesian Shores # 213. It was exactly as presented and was a very clean and peaceful place to spend our vacation. It truly felt like home. The views were incredible, including the many whale sightings right from our lanai. The pool was clean and inviting and a great place to spend a few hours. Turtles came right up on the beach while guests were sitting there. The location was ideal for any island adventures that we went on. We enjoyed meeting Erin who was our neighbour and a permanent resident. It turned out that his mother was from the same small town where we are from in Ontario, Canada. less

Lovely Location but...

This condo has been partially updated, with a well equipped and pleasant kitchen, reasonable furniture in the LR, nice balcony with a gorgeous view of the ocean and the sunset. There are 3 flat screen TVs and they all worked well. The pool is cool but nice but there is no hot tub, so beware if that is important to you. In the past, there used to be a common use deck down by the ocean which was really lovely in the evening for everyone to gather and watch the sunset. It has had to be removed but the folks there still gather on the lawn to watch the sunset together and to light the tiki torches – a very pleasant way to spend the early part of the evening before supper, and a nice way to get to know a few fellow guests and some residents! The master bedroom is a loft with a reasonable amount of room and an updated bathroom with walk in shower, no bathtub. It is hot up there as heat rises but there is a fan over the bed with variable speeds and an extra fan in the large closet. Bed is comfortable. However, the second bedroom is sorely lacking - it faces onto the road so is noisy and there is no AC so the windows have to be open at night. This in turn makes the drapes (yes drapes, not blinds!) flap all night. It was very hot while we were there and the overhead fan creaks and has only one speed, slow. I did ask for it to be fixed and although Dave came to look at it he didn't communicate with me about the problem and it was not fixed. After a couple of days we found an auxiliary fan in the closet which was effective, although it did not oscillate so only one of us could be cool at a time! In addition, the second bedroom is small for two adults, with poor access to the closet which not only holds your clothes but also the vacuum, other cleaning materials, the extra fan, ironing board, beach gear including beach chairs, and all the extra linens. So it is crowded but well equipped!! (This is because there is no hall closet for the extras.) Finally, the twin beds are just ok – I folded up my duvet and put it under the sheet to make it soft enough for me to sleep on – they are ready to be upgraded! This suite is a little small – we had to put our suitcases under the stairs in the open as there was nowhere in the downstairs bedroom, and there was just no extra space for anything. We were only three adults and felt a bit crowded. Having said all that, we loved our time in Maui and but would hesitate to return to this specific suite because of its proximity to the road and the lack of good cooling ventilation. less

Dear Guests from Victoria, Thank you for staying at our unit. We're disappointed to hear that your stay was less than 'perfect', given how hard we endeavor to always exceed our guest's expectations. This is the first we've heard of the fan issues. Rest assured we're looking into it and will quickly resolve any operating issues that we find. The downstairs blinds were installed recently to ensure that light is blacked out for our late sleepers, while allowing airflow as may be desired throughout the night. Yours is our first complaint on the matter. Likewise, we purchased all new top-line beds just two years ago. We're sorry that the downstairs beds didn't meet your expectations; again, our first complaint. We'll take your comments to heart and confirm that the beds haven't degraded. Limited closet space is always a challenge. We err on the side of providing our guests lots of 'extras' for their stay. Thanks again! - Ray and Elaine.

Great to be "back home" at Polynesian Shores 213

We returned to Polynesian Shores after a 12 year absence, and Condo 213 had a lovely kitchen, bathrooms that had been updated, and a great upper loft "suite" for privacy. Having our deck door open to hear the ocean, the birds and to look at Molokai and Lanai all day was amazing. The pool was not heated, which was perfect because you cooled down from the blazing sun quickly. We would look for Honu ( turtles) everyday off of the rocky beach, and you could see snorkelers float by checking out the reef. We did not use the BBQ area, but we did see it get cleaned and it was well maintained. The laundry room has 5 regular washing machines( I think) and 1 or 2 front loaders, and at least 8 dryers, so you don't have to wait too long to get your laundry done. We would stay at Polynesian Shores #213 again tomorrow if we could get a flight! less

Beautiful Ocean View! Great Location!

Our family of four had a great time at Polynesian Shores, Condo 213! The pictures and description of the condo are very accurate. The views from the condo are beautiful! There is a nice, small sand beach area right in front. Good spot to watch the sun set! Good swimming, lots of big sea turtles! The closet in the condo had lots of beach items (boogie board, beach towels, chairs, cooler, umbrella) that were great to borrow when we visited lots of near by beaches! One of or favorites was Kamaole Beach in South Kihei. If you do the "Road to Hanna" make sure you stop at Waianapanapa State Park & Black Sand Beach - mile marker #32. Lots of cool things do do and see there (caves, blow-hole, hiking trail, black sand/pebbles) beautiful area! One of our favorite activities was snorkeling. One of our favorite restaurants was Star Noodles. We would love to come back for another trip! Thank you for letting us visit! less

Firstly, the customer service & communication to book this condo was great. Emails were responded to promptly & everything made very easy for payment & checkin, which was great since we are from australia. The condo itself is situated in a very well kept complex with fabulous ocean & island views (of the surrounding islands). The condo was very clean & well equipped. Splendid apartment and Location

We found the apartment clean and well stocked with towels, beach towels, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. The kitchen was well equipped and the filled brita-filter jug in the fridge was a welcoming refreshment and highly appreciated. What a great vacation

We searched the internet for two months, could have searched another two months and not found a better place to stay than Polynesian Shores unit #213. Internet pictures do not give the unit or or the small condo complex justice. Extremely clean and modern unit, beautiful, immaculate grounds and swimming pool, a really nice small beach with great snorkeling (had a head on collision with a huge, but very friendly green turtle) made for a very relaxing and enjoyable two weeks with beautiful sunset views every day. Even though we were there over a national holiday, there was absolutely no traffic congestion and within 10 minutes of just about anything you could want to do. A great value. To ask for any more than what we got would have meant extreme greed on our part. Would recommend to couples wanting a really nice getaway. less

Home in Paradise

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the Polynesian Shores Condo 213 in March 2013. The process to book & pay for the condo was seamless & when we arrived we felt 'at home'! The condo is spotless with lots of thoughtful touches like fresh sponges & dish soap, lots of good quality towels, high quality linens, beach chairs & a cooler (which we used every day to go down to the little beach in front of the property!) and a well stocked kitchen. We picked up supplies and did most of our cooking - spending a lot of time enjoying meals & drinks on the lanai while whale watching! We loved getting to know the neighbour Erin - he was always full of great stories and left the paper for us each morning - a true character. The property itself is small but very well kept and with a nice community feel. The location was excellent and we enjoyed our week of R&R.; less

We have stayed at several places on Maui, but this is the best! Wonderful condo with fully equipped kitchen for cooking. Many extras including beach towels and chairs, boogie boards and kickboards. From the balcony is a full view of the ocean and two islands - even saw several whales breach from the lanai! Also saw sea turtles swimming in the ocean in front of the complex, and up to 6 at a time sunning on a sandy beach about 50 yards north! In case you get bored watching the whales, the condo has a good library of books, videos, CDs, and games. Excellent laundry facilities on site, with a change machine - I also got a roll of quarters from the office! less

This is one very nice place

Very clean, excellent view, quiet, direct ocean beach access, local turtles nearby. This was one very relaxing place. We could have easily spent the whole two weeks of our stay in this unit. No hassle at all checking in. Excellent beaches all along this coast, both North and South, and was easy drive to the hustle and bustle of the tourist strip in Lahaina. less

Very nice condo, clean and updated.

We had a great time in Maui. The condo was just as advertised. Recently updated and had all the cooking tools we needed. Only thing negative is no central air conditioning. Trade winds died a few days before we were there it was a little humid. There were ceiling and portable fans that made it tolerable. less

Hi Aaron, Thanks for your kind review. Glad you had a great time! Sorry to hear that the trades subsided temporarily – that does happen occasionally, but is rare on West Maui. Hope you return for another visit sometime soon! - Ray and Elaine, Owners

Beautiful

We so enjoyed this beautifully decorated condo. It was the perfect location. The accommodations were outstanding. The grounds and pool were spectacular. We watched the surf each day along with the gorgeous sea turtles. The amenities were terrific. Truly had the aloha spirit. Could have used some a/C a few of the days. The trade winds died down and it got a little warm. Hopefully that will be an addition someday. less

Owner/Manager Response

Dear Lee, Thanks so much for taking the time to post a review, and glad you enjoyed your stay! The trades are usually more than adequate to nicely cool the unit, particularly with windows open front and back for flow-through. Several fans are available for an extra 'boost' as needed. This ensures the 'feeling' of Aloha, as you experience the wonderful natural winds and smells of the island and resort, rather than freezing out with A/C. Hope to see you again soon! - Ray and Elaine, Owners

We had the best stay for our vacation.

It was a memorable time for us when we stayed at Polynesian Shores 213 condo in Lahaina. In early morning, we enjoyed the scene of the ocean. At dinner time, we gather around the kitchen having our meal while sea breeze through the windows. We did not need the air condition! We had a good time there. We are looking forward for the next stay. less

Awesome

Thank you for sharing this condo to us. The condo is very comfortable. We liked the kitchen, it was fully supplied, just like home. The view was amazing, we enjoyed walking on the beach taken so may pictures and watching turtles, sometimes dolphins. We hope someday come back. Thanks again. Please say "Hi" to our neighbor at 214, Erin was so friendly, we wish we could have more time chatting with him. less

Comfortable with excellent views

We enjoyed the condo with its brilliant views. The condo is very comfortable with all required amenities, brilliant suset views and lawns going right to the ocean.

Holiday in Paradise

It was wonderful, location was excellent, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get there in a few minutes, and the view from the balcony was exceptional. We started each day sitting on the balcony enjoying the sunrise and watching the dolphins and whales play. The book of local recommendations was helpful and we added a few brochures to your collection. It was nice that you provided high power binoculars for the whales but most of the time we could see them without help. The condo was excellent with new and comfortable furnishings and everything we could possibly need to cook and go to the beach or pool. It was perfect for the 4 of us. We tend to rent condos when we travel and yours is one of the best we have ever used. We will be back soon and will happily recommend it to others. less

Polynesian Shores #213, what a view!

Our trip started out with a condo that exceeded our expectations. We shared the condo with another couple and found it to more than roomy enough for two couples. The condo is #213 at Polynesian Shores. Nice 2 bdrm, well equipped. It has 2 king beds (downstairs bed can convert to twin beds if preferred) and two full baths. The room has a lanai with an exceptional view looking to the west (the lanai pics on the aloha Condos website don't do it justice). The condo has a pool and a bbq area. The unit is only 200' off the water. Day 3 we started with breakfast at the condo. The condo was loaded with any cookware you could think of. On Day 4 we had cocktails while sitting on the deck. I was just sitting here minding my own business and then I saw whale spouts. There were about 5 or 6 of them heading north. They were about 500 ft off the shoreline. No breaches, still very cool. Day 5 We went down the beach about 200' north of the condo as were told there may be a turtle or two sunning on the beach. Sure enough... A big sea turtle was sprawled out on the beach. There another half dozen sea turtles playing in the surf about 20' off the shore. We went back down to beach to have a cocktail and watch the sunset. It was just as beautiful as the day before. Once again, a half dozen sea turtles were playing in the surf not more than 50 feet away. This condo location rocks!! Day 6 My birthday - What a beautiful morning. The sun came up and created an incredible rainbow, very cool. Very nice trip, wonderful condo and super friendly neighbors. Everything we needed including great restaurants, beaches, and shopping are close by. We would absolutely recommend this place to the best of our friends.
