109 lives up to the reviews! Great location in the building, right on the corner with terrific views. Comfortable bed. Very well stocked regarding kitchen tools, beach comforts, etc... It's not a huge studio, but has fantastic storage, so it feels bigger then it is. Great walking and jogging trails surround Napili Bay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The condo is small but efficiently set up so it lives larger than it is. The full size kitchen is very well equipped. The bathroom, with shower stall, is of good size. There is lots and lots of storage. The bed is comfy. We liked having a large sofa. The resident manager keeps the outside of the condo, including barbecue area and laundry, in great shape. But it's really about location location location. Napili Bay is the best.

For value, location, and overall quality, we couldn't have asked for more. Watching the sunsets from the patio, being 10 feet from the surf, being on a very quiet crescent beach with a great restaurant (Sea House) at one end, that we could stroll to at night to enjoy dinner or mai tais, it was the best vacation in Hawaii we've had, hands down. Will come back here again. I would recommend this room (109) as well as any of the other 10X and 20X rooms (110 would also be nice).

We stayed one week in condo 109. We read all this reviews with "...saw the wales from the lanai..." and "...what a great beach with a wonderfull sunset.." and so on. What should we say - it's all true! We enjoyed our stay there so much that we didn`t want to leave. The condo was prepared very well, the "first aid kit" (present basket) was well selected and the wifi worked good. Everything we needed was there: Fridge, plates and cups, silverware, pans, towels, tv... ...really everything. The BBQ-place was nice, also there are washing machine and dryer. We choosed condo 109 because of the bayfront view and its location at the first floor - it was a good choice.
Lovely stay!

Napili Bay Resort is superbly located along the beach at Napili Bay, just steps from the water's edge. We enjoyed watching small children play in the water close to shore, and big ones surfing further out. We watched huge turtles in the rocky part of the bay, and even saw whales go by. Unit 109 was perfect for us. We loved the way the outside deck had been raised up a bit so we could see over the rail while we sat outside to eat our dinner. The furnishings were great, and the shower was lovely. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies, and had all the modern appliances. We thoroughly enjoyed our week away from the Canadian winter. We plan to come back!

Much nicer than I expected. Can't beat the view. Looks a little run down on the outside, but is very nicely decorated on the inside. We loved the bed and being able to hear the ocean at night. The ONLY negative I have to report is the $120 cleaning fee. For a two room condo, it should have taken no more than one to two hours maximum to clean. I thought $60-$75 would have been more appropriate.

What greater treat to roll out of bed, crab a cup of coffee, take a few steps and be on the beach. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Can't wait to return.

The welcome basket was a lovely touch as well as the boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. I'm not sure how anyone could have anything negative to say about this property. If you don't like it, go stay at the Ritz. We can't say enough good things about this condo and this location. Top notch!

wamaui from Tacoma, WA on 04/18/2009 said:
We stayed for the first part of our visit on the second floor, in a room we loved, then moved to 109 due to booking availability. The biggest problem we had with the room was that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, very hard with springs digging into our backs. We contacted the property manager and condo association president. We let them know of the issue and asked what could be done to help the situation. We offered several solutions, such as an air mattress, changing rooms to a garden view (109 is an ocean view room)and asked to be able to contact the owners. When I was making the arrangements, I was under the impression I had been speaking with the condo owner, but when the problem arose, we discovered he was simply a property manager and very rude to us. Other issues were the screens are not the correct size so the edges gap and allows bugs into the room, the shower seems to be connected to the outside hose/shower/foot rinse area as the shower did not maintain proper temp, ranging from very hot to very cold within seconds, exposed wires, no batteries in the smoke detector, cabinets and drawers falling off hinges. Very poorly maintained room. Not a very private location either. We loved the other room we stayed in, room 207. When the issue was not resolved, we left the next day after moving in and stayed next door at the Napili Surf, which is a wonderful location with the best, most friedly staff we have ever met.
Manager response:
We do acknowledge that the queen bed in the condo has a firm mattress and box spring. We personally tend to prefer a firm mattress; however our current plans include the purchase of a new king size bed with pillow top that will likely be preferred by a greater number of guests. Our most recent purchase was the new sectional sofa and I hope you found it to your liking. We do routinely upgrade the furnishings in the unit.<br /> <br /> The louvered windows on the beachfront are original to the building construction. The screens have been replaced and are held in place with small metal retainers. If a retaining clip was loose, the screen could have been pulled away from the frame and only needed to be clipped back in place. Our recent inspection of the windows did not reveal any improperly sized screens.<br /> <br /> The beachfront shower and the large ceramic tiled glass-enclosed corner shower unit in the condo have entirely separate water supplies. The very large capacity hot water supply line for the individual units has a return loop to the water heaters, so that hot water is always available within a very few seconds after turning on the valve. A faulty shower mixing valve could conceivably cause the problem you describe. The valve has been checked and found to be working properly.<br /> <br /> No exposed wiring was found, unless your reference is to some of the low voltage lighting in the upper part of the display cabinetry. A loose and improperly fastened drawer front on the bathroom vanity base has been fully repaired.<br /> <br /> A missing smoke alarm battery is inexcusable under any circumstances. A new battery has been installed and the alarm is now in working order. As Napili Bay owners we are very concerned about fire safety and we do not allow smoking or candles inside of our condo. The entire property is currently being retrofitted with an automatic fire sprinkler system that is above and beyond code requirement for this property.<br /> <br /> Aloha,<br /> Don & Jan Nicholas, Owners, Napili Bay Resort 109

We even had a very rare monk seal come hopping up directly in front of 109..she stayed on the beach for almost 8 hours enjoying the sun and sand....what a fantastic treat! Corner unit 109 is directly on the beach with lovingly tended verdant flowering plants and coconut palms on the property. From the lanai you see the beautiful soft sandy bay, ocean waves and Molokai. Snorkeling the bay is excellent, often with sea turtle companions. In season, the whales are often seen breeching offshore. The unit is exceptionally clean, light, bright and airy with generous housekeeping supplies and large fluffy towels. The grounds include a detached laundry area and barbeque grills, all surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and flowers. At night, the moonlight on the ocean, the sound of the wind in the palms and the seabreeze closes a day in paradise.

May 2007 was my second stay at Napili Bay Resort. The first time we were in an upstairs condo. Rented this downstairs corner unit (#109) specifically because I was pregnant and didn't want to deal with stairs. Thinking flower bushes in the front of the room might obscure the ocean view, I was pleasantly surprised with expansive, fantastic views from this first floor unit. And it was a great plus to be in a corner unit like this one for added privacy. My husband and I took it easy and had a great relaxing time enjoying the breeze, beach, sun and nearby restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner all within walking distance from the condo. I'd go there again except now that we have a baby, I'd have to look for a unit that will allow more than just 2. Or just the two of us might get away leaving our daughter with grandma for a week of perhaps our third honeymoon.

After spending 3 nights at a big hotel in Lahaina, we spent our last 4 nights here at the Napili Bay. There was no comparison. We loved the location! The ocean was literally 50' from our lanai. We enjoyed hearing the ocean waves every night as we dozed off and seeing the sunsets and rainbows off our lanai each day. The unit was adequate and we liked having a kitchen which had everything we needed for our occasional meals in. We used the boogie boards which were provided in the room. The only downside in paradise was no air conditioning. It would get warm but we utilized the ceiling fans and kept our windows open. Would definitely stay here again.

This unit is probably the closest to the ocean that you can stay in all of Maui. Outside your lanai is truly paradise. The waves crash over the rocks and the water is warm and inviting. You can snorkel right from the beach or just play in the waves. The condo is perfect for two people and there is a great coffee shop nearby. I don't think there was another place on the whole island that could have been better.

We really enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time on the beach without doing much at all. It was so easy to go to and from the beach right outside the room/balcony. Our stay was very relaxing and you can't beat this place for this very reasonable price. The only tip I would give is that you might consider getting the 2nd floor rooms instead of the first floor. We got some rather loud folks above us and the floors don't hide normal walking noises at all. But it drives you outside to the beach, which isn't bad at all. Recommended to stay here.

I had an internet connection problem which I called about and the problem was solved quickly. Thank you for the arrival gift basket. That was an unexpected delight.

I had a wonderful stay in Condo 109, it was comfortable and relaxing in a great location right on the beach! I watched whales right from the lanai and snorkelled with a sea turtle right off the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The waves are loud, but it adds to the experience.

We did not want to stay at a big hotel and this condo was recommended to us. We found just what we were looking for and the location was fantastic. It was a little warm during this time of the year (July) but the louvers and fans kept us cool for most of the time. The condo was clean and handy. A must stay for us in the future. What greater treat to roll out of bed, crab a cup of coffee, take a few steps and be on the beach. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Can't wait to return.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Napili Bay and really loved it. The management was great to work with. It was clean. We stayed upstairs in 209 and it was more updated. Definitely worth paying extra to be on the top floor. The turtles from the porch were awesome. The Napili Bay Beach is wonderful. The location of 109 so close to the beach gate was not the best.

Stayed for 5 nights in June and loved every minute. Can't wait to go back. The condo owners obviously care a great deal about their property and it is in great shape.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a goodie basket of treats from the homeowner (class act and much appreciated). The unit is well appointed with plenty of storage and a superb location on the best beach on the planet. The raised lanai offers unobstructed views from two very comfortable swivel chairs. We even had a very rare monk seal come hopping up directly in front of 109..she stayed on the beach for almost 8 hours enjoying the sun and sand....what a fantastic treat! We will return to this ideal vacation location soon.
