“ Loved, loved, loved staying at #504 of the Maui Kai. It was exactly what we were looking for- a clean, quiet, safe, not run-down place where we can make and eat our own food, in the middle of everything, right on the beach so we don't have to drive to it, and with a spectacular view from our lanai so don't feel "stuck" in our place when the kids were sleeping. It was just a little cramped for our family of 4 but it was fine. We knew it was a one bedroom before we booked it and expected this. By the way, if our kids were older, they could have stayed up later and slept on the sofabed and I don't think it wouldn't have felt that way.... Also, we never closed our lanai sliding doors (the entire ocean facing wall was glass) because we loved hearing the ocean sounds our entire 9 day stay. Even booking it was super easy online. We all (including my 5 year old) still talk about it and miss it a couple of months later. We decided we have to stay here again the next time we go to Maui. ”

“ We have just departed from unit 504 at Maui Kai and have left with very positive impressions. We traveled with our two children aged 9 and 11 and would recommend this place to other families wishing to get their own space and get away from the bustle of the resort hotels. The place has a fantastic location right on the beach front, and I mean right on the beach front! Step out of the condo and you are on the beach. Two more steps and you are in the sea! The views are great. Every apartment must get the fantastis view we had. Completely uninterrupted views out to sea. The apartment we stayed in was spotless, and the same could be said of the rest of the place. It is kept in very good order with the BBQ cleaner than I can get my own. The apartment is big enough for two but a little cramped for a family of four, but you knew what we were doing before we booked. The sofa bed in the living room is not the world's most comfortable but what sofa bed is. The unit is so well stocked with the needs of the traveler. Every kitchen utensil is provided as is beach gear, coolers, snorkel sets, iPod dock, good cable package, the list goes on. The place is ideal if you want to get away for some peace and quiet. If you want big pools, resort entertainment, loud music and loud people then go elsewhere. If you want to relax and kick back with your own cooking on the lanai and watch the sea with some cold ones, then this is the place for you. ”

“ We stayed in two different condos during our two weeks in the Maui Kai to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. This condo was nicely appointed and has a very comfortable bed with a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding islands from the lanai and of the in-land mountain valley from the bedroom. We only stayed a few days here, and it looked like the cleaning staff decided not to dust or sweep the floors before we arrived, but that didn't detract from the wonderful dinners we had on the lanai, or the romantic sunsets. The Maui Kai really is the closest condo to the water in the Kaanapali Beach area and the staff, grounds, pool, and overall environment were all top notch. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a quiet stay on Maui with all the beauty and local amenities that the Hyatt, Sheraton, and Ritz have to offer as well as all the comforts of home. ”

“ Thank you so much for renting your condo to us! We had a wonderful vacation and anniversary in Maui, and your condo helped make that experience very special! Leaving was the most difficult part, and if we could have stayed longer, we certainly would have. We took comfort that at the end of the day after going on an excursion around the island that we were coming back to comfortable furnishings, an excellent kitchen, and a nice shower. We loved sitting out on the lanai in the morning, taking in the gorgeous views. The location was great because we were close to some excellent food options and were able to get down to the shops in Lahaina. The beaches were beautiful, and the community was very clean and well kept. Our time there flew by and we did not want to leave. You have a wonderful piece of paradise. Mahalo for sharing it with us. We hope to return in the near future. ”

Everyone on the grounds were extremely friendly. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends or anyone considering vacationing in Maui. The room was stocked with everything you'd possibly need and the Safeway down the street made grocery shopping less expensive. The condo was perfectly clean and decorated in nice Hawaiian accents. We spent so much time sitting on the lanai just watching the waves, whales, and kite-surfers. We also took in all the visitor sites. Overall on a scale of 1-10, I'd say we had an 11. We are very excited about returning for a ten day third visit this May 2. We never tire of this unbelievable oceanfront property. We always enjoy sitting on the lanai in the morning (java in hand) watching the wonderful sea parade of whales, spinner dolphins and sea turtles. Later we mosey on down to the awesome sandy beach and take a dip in the waves. If you are not a beach lover there is a pool close by. We are always impressed with how well the grounds are cared for, lush greens and beautiful flowers abound. The condo itself is immaculate, with a well stocked kitchen and furnished with lovely tropical decor. All the niceties of home right here. Did I mention the gorgeous sunsets and colorful rainbows? We would highly recommend this condo to honeymooners, couples or small families. The price is very reasonable too. Al and Lyn, the owners are wonderful people. They want you to have the BEST EVER ALOHA EXPERIENCE at their little slice of Heaven, Maui Kai Unit 504...and WE ALWAYS DO. ”

“ Quite a few years back we stayed at this resort, and i use that name loosely. The actual apartment was done very nicely; the view of the ocean is very good. There's no reception area per se; the overall building reminds me of a tenement in a poor neighborhood and the pool is across the parking lot surrounded by concrete blocks. There is NO beachfront as there is no beach in front...only ocean. A retaining wall protects the lobby from the ocean rushing in. The shower in the apartment overflowed to the apartment below and not by any fault of ours. My wife and I are very careful and clean when we stay in someone else's apartment. Wouldn't recommend this rental building at all. ”

“ Since 2004, we have completely redecorated and made several other upgrades such as an additional granite counter with new maple cabinets in the bathroom, new living room and dining room furnishings and balcony high table and swivel chairs on the lanai. A problem with the shower at the time was quickly remedied. Maui Kai is a smaller structure constructed of cement block which helps to eliminate noise compared to some of the large hotel-type buildings. As Maui Kai has the closest proximity to the ocean in West Maui, it is regularly maintained including re-spalling of the building, new paint and trim. The landscaping of the building has been upgraded with many Hawaiian flowers, plants, and waterfalls.
The pool and spa are part of a larger cabana area which includes an indoor kitchen, bathrooms, computer with printer, ping-pong table, and library. Outside is a large area for sunbathing and visiting, a covered picnic area, and gas barbecues. Perhaps his visit was during one of the rare storms that could bring in high surf and reduce the beach temporarily. However, North Ka’anapali Beach in front of Maui Kai actually stretches for three miles, all the way to Black Rock.
Maui Kai is not a hotel with one a grandiose entryway, but it does have a pleasant sitting area for resting and visiting now complete with orchids and newer furniture as well as free morning coffee and newspapers for purchase. Maui Kai is a location guests enjoy returning to year after year. ”

“ From the second we walked in to this condo, we were wowwed by everything, from the furnishings to the view, this condo is unbelievable! Newly remodeled with granite countertops, tile flooring, and full fun closet including snorkle gear, boogie boards, umbrellas, childrens beach toys, lawn chairs, coolers.....Lyn (owner) has everything that you need here to feel like home. This condo is very clean....you could eat off the floors! The lanai is wonderful. I sat on the patio furniture for hours just watching the whales breaching from the ocean front view through the binnoculars which were also supplied for us. The beach right in from is also a perfect spot for tanning and swimming. There is also a gated pool and hottub area with public BBQ's and games room. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone, being a family or just a couple, who like the finer things in life! ”

What a lovely place you have! I'm sitting on the lanai and just saw our first whale! You have gone beyond expectations to make Maui Kai 504 accommodating. Everything we need is here and your island decor is charming right down to the carved wooden dolphin doorstop! I WISH I COULD LIVE HERE! Last night we enjoyed a dinner boat cruise and tonight a luau. Tomorrow is a Maui tour and volcano and Pearl Harbor the next day. However,just sitting out on the lanai has been our favorite of all---plus shopping :-) It's simply breathtaking here! What a fantastic place! We have traveled almost half way around the world to be here and it feels like we landed in Paradise! A beautiful spot on a a beautiful island. I wish we could spend longer here but we have to go back to the real world of gloomy, grey and wet English weather. The condo is absolutely wonderful with all the extra comforts which make all the difference. We have stayed in lots of self-catering accommodations but this IS THE BEST. We have had an excellent week here at Maui Kai 504! Our regret is that we can't stay longer to enjoy Maui! Your condo has been a great, relaxing point to recollect, to sleep, and to just unwind from the rigors of our working lives. The condo is well maintained and all of the amenities are taken care of. I know i appreciated the "1,000 channels" offered, especially since MLB Network was available and I could check scores. But that aside, the location was great and the books on Maui were helpful. We had a great time here, and we liked it better than the Ritz-Carlton where we stayed the previous week. Your condo, Maui Kai 504 is simply amazing. You have thought of every single item to make it so home like and comfortable. I think you are better equipped there than I am at home! Everything from your decorating to the small things like scissors and laundry soap. The table and high chairs on the lanai are brilliant! Our friends were envious when they came to visit as they could actually see the ocean and not have to look through the spokes of the railing. We really had a beautiful time and saw so many wonderful and exciting things. We even saw a pod of dolphins one day. A monk seal was on the beach for a visit and the highlight of course was watching the whales. I don’t think anyone could ever tire of their beauty and grace. It’s hard to believe we have gone and come back already, sure seems like it takes forever for the holiday to actually arrive. We were then supposed to go to Waikiki, but the company had to cancel us. That was a bittersweet moment for us because we loved Maui so much and didn’t want to leave. Kudos to Lyn and Al for making our Hawaiian Christmas vacation a dream come true. We had a rocky start to our vacation....we were stranded at the Oahu airport for hours. Finally we arrived at #504 at 1 AM! All we can say is it was WORTH the wait! A beautiful gift basket was waiting for us. The condo was perfect....really nice decor, fully stocked with kitchen stuff and beach stuff. The best part though was getting up in the morning and seeing the view from the lanai....WOW words cannot describe it. Every morning we saw rainbows and whales and sea turtles. We ate breakfast and lunch on the lanai just for the view. Then we would end the day watching the sunsets...very colorful. We just got back today and are already planning our trip for Christmas 2009! My husband & I just returned home from our 2nd trip to Maui and our 1st time staying at the Maui Kai. Our stay was awesome in unit # 504. The condo was immaculate and well-equipped with everything you need to make your stay hassel free and the closet was even packed with all kinds of nice beach stuff (snorkel gear, beach chairs, boogie boards & ice chests). We enjoyed the sunsets from the well furnished lanai (the view is awesome from this unit)! The owners of unit # 504 (Al & Lyn Magorno) have done a beautiful job of decorating and setting everything up so that you feel right at home. What a beautiful condo you have! The view was STUNNING! I spent a lot of time on the lanai looking at that amazing view and contemplating God's great creation. My daughter had been in Australia for five months, studying abroad, so I had not seen her in all that time. It was a wonderful time together. But it all came back to the wonderful "home" we had and enjoyed so much. By the time we left, we decided that we had left too many things undone. Your condo was absolutely perfect! It exceeded even our highest expectations. The lanai, whales, sunset, snorkeling, beaches, etc. -- captured our total attention. Our visit to Maui with 504 as our base was incredible...an overused adjective, but exactly the right one to describe our experiences. I think we chased down and enjoyed all but a couple of Maui's top-rated beaches, snorkeled wherever possible, including Molokini (the whales were better than the snorkeling). I must say that whale watching from your lanai was at least as good and probably better than the tours we took. We loved the high table on the lanai -- great for pre-breakfast coffee and better for sunsets and just relaxing. Let's face it, Maui and 504 Maui Kai stole our hearts. We WILL be back. I can't say "mahalo" enough for working with us . And as great an expression as "mahalo" is it just doesn't express our gratitude and enjoyment of Maui Kai 504. What a jewel of a place. — L. A. It is a long trip from upstate New York, but worth all that travel time once here. We find it hard to believe we could be happier anywhere else compared to many other places we have stayed. So close to the ocean one could almost leap right in at high tide from the lanai here. It’s Saturday afternoon, about an hour before sunset. We got in this afternoon, had plenty of time to drive from the airport and stop and shop and get in and settled, then toast our first sunset here. Thank you so much for the surprise treat basket. How very thoughtful and kind. As soon as we walked in we felt home in paradise. The scattered clouds lit afire after awhile . The beautiful afterglow lasted better than an hour or more. Venus, the evening star shone over the lanai with a diamond-like crispness and scintillated throughout her slow westward descent. We truly are somewhere over the rainbow here.
