Take your time-relax at your own pace. You'll feel a sense of privacy that our center location 504 offers that makes our lanai an incomparable location for your honeymoon, anniversary, birthday celebration or just for the sheer joy of being on Maui! Whether it's the soft pinkish lavendar glow of sunrise or the dramatic reds, oranges, and purples of sunset, you'll marvel at the cloud formation that the Trades pass by for your enjoyment. Watch the spinner dolphins dance by and the tropical fish dart about in the reef or even green sea turtles pop their heads up in the early morning. Marvel at the grace and immensity of the Humpback whales during the winter season. No matter what time of year, you will be entranced.
- One of the few front center condos at the Maui Kai, the lanai of unit 504 enjoys total privacy, and a more than 180 degree unobstructed panorama view of the Pacific Ocean spanning from the southern tip of sleepy Lanai to the northern tip of mountainous Molokai. Wide and spacious, the beautifully tiled lanai comfortably accomodates a lounge, a balcony high dining table and four swivel chairs for you to relax and take in the Maui experience. From December through April, enjoy a perfect vantage point for viewing the arrival of the Humpback Whales making their way between Maui and Molokai in the Pailolo Channel viewed just off your lanai. Those swivel chairs will certainly make it easy to take it all inl!
- The fifth floor location of 504 provides up close observation of ocean activities and yet offers a wonderful perspective on all the action along Ka'anapali Beach from a comfortable distance. Dining oceanfront on the lanai is a treat where you can enjoy a candlelit dinner with a spectacular sunset directly in front of you. Many guests have commented that it is a better location than any restaurant in Maui! Beware: a condition known as Polynesian Paralysis may take over your mind and body as you sit back, relax and ENJOY!
- As you approach the door to condo 504, you'll notice our Welcome Mat as well as brass whale's tail knocker and know you have found some place special. Upon entering, you'll discover a pineapple rack with your keys for daily use. Then your eyes will look out to the blue sea just beyond that beckons you to enter further into this beautiful haven and begin your Maui adventure.
- With the EXPANSIVE 10 FOOT SLIDING GLASS DOORS open, the extra wide living room of 504 is an extension of the lanai where you can still enjoy the enticing views and the beautiful sounds of the ocean waves that are music to the ears. With the doors closed a hush descends and central air conditioning cools the room to your selected temperature. A floor to ceiling mirror recreates the wonder of Molokai from several vantage points in the living room. Decorated in Hawaiian style with lots of rattan, the colors of the room reflect the surroundings of sea and sand. The artwork reflects nature and the wonderful elements that make Hawaii special. A beautiful new comfortable queen sleeper sofa, swivel chair, and recliner, along with accompanying tables and tropical lamps provide comfort and convenience. In addition, a 37"HDTV with HBO, DVD player, DVR, CD player with Ipod capability, and VCR (with a library of videos, DVD's and CD's) are available to enjoy after spending a day exploring the nearby attractions or more of the island Maui.
- At the Maui Kai, condo 504, you can dine inside at the elegant tropical dining table for four i with padded seating and rattan ceiling fan with etched downlight or casually at the granite kitchen counter (not to mention the lanai table). And after dinner you can enjoy a game of cards with your friends or family or choose from the assorted games including The Maui Game.
- The kitchen of condo 504 at the Maui Kai has been remodeled with beautiful maple cabinetry complimented by unique pineapple door pulls. The granite countertops provide an elegant backdrop while you relax at the bar stools and enjoy pupus and perhaps a Mai Tai. The kitchen is fully stocked with the appliances, utensils and cookware needed to prepare a meal for four and includes a range, refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, electric can opener, waffle maker, crockpot and rice cooker. Create your own dishes with the supplied condiments, spices and herbs. Bright, natural lighting provides ideal illumination for meal preparation and, of course, since the kitchen is open to the living room and dining room, there are the ever present sounds and beauty of the Pacific Ocean.
- The bathroom of condo 504 at the Maui Kai is highlighted by the shower which is crafted with decorative 10" tiles and glass blocks reminiscent of the sea. The step-in design, safety bar and small seat are welcome additions. The new maple cabinet with many storage drawers and granite countertop enhance the beauty of the room. A wall-mounted hair dryer is provided for your use.
The Maui Kai Beach Resort is located on north Kaanapali Beach, 2 miles north of the Lahaina Town Center in Maui, Hawaii - between The Kaanapali Beach Club (north) and the Mahana Resort (south). One of our favorite ways to start and/or end the day is a walk along our gorgeous beach that extends for several miles, dabbling our toes in the shoreline or taking a dip. A short walk down the entry drive and across the street, you'll find a grocery store, several shops, Video rental store and cafes. Just up the street is one of the best take out cafes on the island. We are only a few minutes north of Whaler's Village- a popular location for restaurants, shops and the beach. Napili and Kapalua are just a short drive north with more beaches as well as Honolua reknowned for its surf and snorkeling bay. Whether you are interested in going to a luau, sailing on a snorkel or whale cruise, going parasailing, taking surfing lessons or one of so many acitvities Maui has to offer, you will discover you are in a fantastic location to reach all of them conveniently.

Aloha John and Barbara,
We are very happy that you enjoyed our water's edge location as you put it. It is amazing! We hope you enjoyed all the kitchen amenities offered as well as the DVR system, books, Cd's, DVD's as well as our new bed and lanai door. I contacted our cleaner in case your interim information had been overlooked. She was quite aware and about to contact you when you called. Our cleaner don't just show up at the door-they contact our guests to arrange for a convenient time for the cleaning. She is now going to contact our guests earlier in their stay so there won't be any confusion or inconvenience in the future. I've also added that it is necessary for our guests to call to schedule the interim that is a good time for them. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
As to the chairs, when we were there in November, there were low and high beach chairs. If the high ones are missing, I am sorry for the discomfort you experienced. We are sorry that this lowered your estimation of us as we pride ourselves on our many five star reviews and continue to always provide what will make our guests enjoy themselves in our beautiful condo.
Thank you again and we hope you'll be able to visit Maui again soon!

The view out our lanai was manificent. We ate breakfast by candlelight and then took a walk on the beach every morning. The sound of the waves was relaxing. Beautiufully decorated and very comfortable for the two of us. This is where we would stay next time we return to Maui!
Where else but Maui would you have a romantic breakfast by candlelight in the winter?! I'm so happy you enjoyed our magnificent expansive views and wonderful long walks along our beach. We do hope you are able to return soon.

Feels like another planet. The ocean, the view, the sights, the sounds, the sunset, the lanai, the privacy, the comfort, every need met. Very clean. Grounds well kept. Pretty plants and exotic flowers. The barbeques are spotless, the pool and hot tub are great. The guest are friendly. Not busy like the resort next door. Not crowded. Not expensive. Nice beach and close to anything and everything. Stores, souveniers and restaruants across the street or a stroll down the beach. Perfect weather even when it rains you always have a rainbow. The condo was perfect! We walked in and our expectations were instantly exceeded. The view is breathtaking and the accomodations were thoughtful, clean, organized, and felt just like home. Even though it was our first time to Hawaii and Maui Kai 504, it felt like we had been there before - it just welcomed us in and was a cozy place to rest our heads after our daily Ma...

We spent 6 nights at the Maui Kai in 504. The condo had everything you could possible need or want to make your vacation comfortable. I planned our vacation over 1 year ago and had many email conversations with Lyn Magorne, the owner, asking different questions. Lyn made me feel very comfortable and excited about renting directly from an owner. We have not done that before. She could not have been more accommodating! The condo was so clean, which is one of my number one requirements. We would sit on the lanai every morning and evening and watch the whales and dolphins. I lost count ...
Aloha Clint & Helena,
I wish I could immediately transport you to our lanai. I know what you mean...we have a difficult time leaving it as well! We have the perfect vantage point to enjoy all that is going on from whales and dolphins in the winter to the wind and kite surfers, outriggers, and a multitude of activities at other times. Thank you so much for your kind words-you were a pleasure to have as guests and I enjoyed our emails. We hope you can make a return visit!

Loved, loved, loved staying at #504 of the Maui Kai. It was exactly what we were looking for- a clean, quiet, safe, not run-down place where we can make and eat our own food, in the middle of everything, right on the beach so we don't have to drive to it, and with a spectacular view from our lanai so don't feel "stuck" in our place when the kids were sleeping. It was just a little cramped for our family of 4 but it was fine. We knew it was a one bedroom before we booked it and expected this. By the way, if our kids were older, they could have stayed up later and slept on the sofabed...

We have just departed from unit 504 at Maui Kai and have left with very positive impressions. We traveled with our two children aged 9 and 11 and would recommend this place to other families wishing to get their own space and get away from the bustle of the resort hotels. The place has a fantastic location right on the beach front, and I mean right on the beach front! Step out of the condo and you are on the beach. Two more steps and you are in the sea! We stayed in two different condos during our two weeks in the Maui Kai to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. This condo was nicely appointed and has a very comfortable bed with a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding islands from the lanai and of the in-land mountain valley from the bedroom. We only stayed a few days here, and it looked like the cleaning staff decided not to dust or sweep the floors before we arrived, but that didn't detract from the wonderful dinners we had on the lanai, or the romantic sunsets. The Maui Kai really is the closest condo to the water in the Kaanapali...

Quite a few years back we stayed at this resort, and i use that name loosely. The actual apartment was done very nicely; the view of the ocean is very good. There's no reception area per se; the overall building reminds me of a tenement in a poor neighborhood and the pool is across the parking lot surrounded by concrete blocks. There is NO beachfront as there is no beach in front...only ocean. A retaining wall protects the lobby from the ocean rushing in. The shower in the apartment overflowed to the apartment below and not by any fault of ours. My wife and I are very careful and clean wh...
Since 2004, we have completely redecorated and made several other upgrades such as an additional granite counter with new maple cabinets in the bathroom, new living room and dining room furnishings and balcony high table and swivel chairs on the lanai. A problem with the shower at the time was quickly remedied. Maui Kai is a smaller structure constructed of cement block which helps to eliminate noise compared to some of the large hotel-type buildings. As Maui Kai has the closest proximity to the ocean in West Maui, it is regularly maintained including re-spalling of the building, new paint and trim. The landscaping of the building has been upgraded with many Hawaiian flowers, plants, and waterfalls.
The pool and spa are part of a larger cabana area which includes an indoor kitchen, bathrooms, computer with printer, ping-pong table, and library. Outside is a large area for sunbathing and visiting, a covered picnic area, and gas barbecues. Perhaps his visit was during one of the rare storms that could bring in high surf and reduce the beach temporarily. However, North Ka'anapali Beach in front of Maui Kai actually stretches for three miles, all the way to Black Rock.
Maui Kai is not a hotel with one a grandiose entryway, but it does have a pleasant sitting area for resting and visiting now complete with orchids and newer furniture as well as free morning coffee and newspapers for purchase. Maui Kai is a location guests enjoy returning to year after year.
