The loft style condo was perfect, well equiped with everything we needed (from a blender to a TV)... Except for in-unit laundry, but that was fine by us. We had to choice of enjoying every sunset from inside or have a 30 sec walk to the beach. Wake up with the breeze of the ocean or chose to snooze in for a couple more hours if needed. We also had access to the computer and printer from the pool house. The hot tub was also nice after a long day in the ocean or hiking.

My husband and I stayed in Maui Kai Condo 206 for 6 days for our honeymoon in Feb 13 and enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The condo itself was modern, bright, very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen in particular was excellent with lots of cooking utensils which we could make use of with a large supermarket nearby. The views were amazing. We were there during whaling season and could spot whales swimming past on a daily basis. There were laundry facilities onsite. The staff at reception were pleasant and helpful despite the fact we were staying in a private rental. Lovely pool area with heated pool, jacuzzi and bbq. The beach outside the condo is quite narrow but we walked down the beach for a few minutes and found a good spot. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Maui we would not hesitate in choosing Maui Kai 206 for our stay.

Condo #206 was perfect for us! Having read many of the other reviews of this unit, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. You could not be closer to the ocean if you wanted. It is virtually right outside your window and your view is fantastic! It was January and we did not have to worry about a/C, so we left the window open all night and dreamt to the sound of the waves splashing up against the shoreline. Needless to say, we slept very well! There is no beach front to speak of for this resort so you have to use public beaches, but there are some beach chairs and boogie boards in the room for your use. That was not an issue for us, but I thought I might mention it. The unit is a studio and a little on the small side. I'm not sure it would be as appropriate for families with older children or for more than a couple of adults, but for couples or families with smaller children it works very well. During our stay, we did not spend a lot of time actually in the Condo because there was so much to see and do that we spent almost every waking minute out absorbing what we could of Maui; the culture, the history, the geography, etc. but when we were there we appreciated the kitchen (fully supplied with tableware, utensils and a dishwasher), the bathroom (which had all the amenities), the overall cleanliness, the relaxed decor and the quiet! There is a small safe for your valuables. We were even able to watch the Bronco playoff game! That was the only reason we even turned on the T.V. so I can't say what the extent of the channel lineup is. Location wise, you are snuggled in between a couple of other higher priced resorts, there is a grocery store and a couple of local restaurants nearby and you are only a short distance from Lahaina. A little music spills over from one of the resorts next door in the evening, but that is turned off/down by 10PM or so. I gave this a 5 star rating in every aspect because for us there was absolutely nothing to find wrong!

Maui was lovely and the Maui Kai Condo #206 was a pleasure to stay in. We were at first disappointed that it didn't have a lanai, but quickly realized that with the windows wide open, there was no need. Hearing the waves rolling in directly below was amazing. The condo was very clean and very well set up. The bed is comfortable, and is smaller than we're used to. The kitchen is a pleasure. The laundry facilities are conveniently located down the hall. And, the view is amazing. The location was perfect and amenities (groceries, pina colada ingredients, take-out dinners, gifts, etc.) were available across the street from the condo entrance. While arriving "home" from our excursions, we appreciated the quiet and beautiful entrance to Maui Kai. We loved watching the surfers right outside our window as the swells were amazing. We walked several miles on the beach walk most days and drove up the coast to watch the surfers and visit friends. We mostly enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the ocean and love the warm water and weather. We recommend Condo #206 and Maui Kai as a nice place to stay in Paradise. Thank you.

We randomly stumbled across the Maui Kai some years ago, and now choose to stay there every time we come to Maui. Every room faces the beautiful waters of West Maui, and you could almost jump from your lanai into the ocean. It's that close! Condo 206 was well apportioned Jr Suite, with a comfortable Murphy-bed, Hdtv Big screen., kitchen, bathroom shower, etc. I was thankful for the internet network cable, as the hi-speed direct connection gave me the ability to plugin my laptop and stream TV shows & video not available by in-house cable. Only downside for us was the absence of an outdoor balcony. The design of the Maui Kai doesn't seem to provide the outdoor space at this unit we often enjoyed in other Maui Kai units we've stayed. However, it was not that big a detractor from our pleasure as the big ocean-front windows slide open to the sounds and scents of the ocean. It was also handy to be close to the stairway, so it was much faster to take the stairs then wait for the elevator. I would stay in this unit again, as well as any unit at the Maui Kai. Maui Kai will always remain on our preferred list when vacationing on the Valley Isle.

Overall the Maui Kai Condo 206 was a great place for our honeymoon. It's about as close to the beach as one can get. The unit is clean and well appointed. There is no actual balcony but the large opening picture windows are close enough. The Murphy bed was comfortable and it was great to be able to "put it away" when we wanted. There was some construction in the adjacent units while we were there and the unit above has tile floors that generate some noise but it wasn't too bad.

For my wife and I, this really was the perfect place to stay on Maui. We were a little surprised at how small the condo seemed when we first arrived, but then we were also surprised that it really didn't matter. We had everything that we needed. The Condo was more than comfortable. The location was more than stunning. While we did not see any whales from our window, (it was just a little late in the season) we did see a huge sea turtle swim by. Amazing! The sound of the surf at night was hypnotic. You are so close to the waves that you'll have to close the windows if you want to hear the tv. The condo is not part of the Maui Kai's "service", so you're a little bit of an outsider, but the office staff were still helpful and courteous, and you have access to all of the amenities except daily maid service. If you are looking for a great economical place to stay, and you are a little independant and don't need the pampering of a high end resort, this is a heavenly option!

Everything was great - the bed, the shower and the kitchen were great. Very clean. Also, chairs, cooler and pool towels were great to have. Great location - close to Lahaina and Ka'apali Beach area. Right on the beach - can hear the waves all night and we saw whales from the window. If the condo had a balcony we probably would have never left - but it was just awesome, but then again it is in Maui. We flew into Kapulu airport and that was 5 mins away with a grocery store at the corner.

We stayed in the Maui Kai, #206, and I just can't say enough about how great our experience was. The condo was clean and comfortable and fully equipped with whatever we might need. The best part of all is that you can open the large windows, and the ocean is just right outside. To be able to lay in bed and listen to the waves is so relaxing. Our absolute only complaint would be that the internet service seemed less than ideal and we had some problems consistently being able to get on the internet.

The Maui Kai is located not along the busy end of Lahaina but along a more sedate area designed to please those who wish to enjoy the quiet, relaxing on the beach, and a totally relaxed atmosphere. This does not mean that the opportunities for nightlife and more activities are excluded - you just have to look around. There is a multitude of information provided by the condo as well as by the condo owner and on-line. One item that failed to meet our expectations was the screened-in lanai. I must admit to my failure to notice the absence in the description. Love the bilateral ocean breezes, fabulous view, all amenities, clean. Had I not broken my arm in late Feb, this trip might have just been rated 100%. Truly a "God - Like place" on the planet! GREAT CONDO!!!

We recently enjoyed a 10-day stay at Maui Kai Beach Resort unit 206. When we arrived, the unit was in sparkling condition, including all promised amenities in excellent working condition and then some. A gift basket containing fresh local fruit and other goodies was an especially pleasant surprise. As promised, the location of this condo was ideal for beach and especially whale watching; we saw many whales every day from the comfort of our room. We even saw large sea turtles in the ocean right below our window a couple of times. The wall bed was comfortable, and it was nice to be able to put the bed away during the day, allowing us more space for other activities during the day. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything we needed. The owners also provided a well-organized notebook with recommendations for local activities, restaurants, etc. The condo location is truly ocean front; from our room, we were often closer to the ocean than many people actually sitting on the beach next door. There is also a nice, paved "beachwalk" that starts one property south of the Maui Kai and goes all the way down to the south end of Kaanapali beach. This made it easy to walk to other parts of the beach for snorkeling and swimming and avoided parking headaches. The pool at the condo complex is small, but the spa is large and relaxing. The condo complex is nicely situated within easy walking distance of several grocery stores, a farmer's market, interesting shops and restaurants. This was our first visit to Maui, and we would not hesitate to stay at Maui Kai unit 206 again.

We can't say enough good things about our condo stay in September to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. The condo was updated, very clean and orderly, well organized and laid out and really made our stay most enjoyable. The new flat screen was an added bonus combined with all the movie rentals available downstairs. The Maui Kai really is the closest condo to the water in the Kaanapali Beach area and the staff, grounds, pool, and overall environment were all top notch. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a quiet stay on Maui with all the beauty and local amenities that the Hyatt, Sheraton, and Ritz have to offer (at half the price).

The condo is in a beautiful location and is a wonderful place to stay. Boasting an amazing view of the ocean through the windows and the mountain out of the front door, the condo is beautifully laid out and is close to every amenity you could possibly need. Plus, the rental agent very thoughtfully left us a basket of fruit to welcome us, which definitely put us in the Hawaii spirit. We would happily stay there again and will also happily recommend the unit to everyone we know who will be visiting the island. Thank you for an amazing experience!

My stay in Maui Kai #206 far exceeded my expectations. The unit was tastefully furnished, well appointed, and had every amenity I needed. I found the beach chairs and towels a particularly welcome touch. The condo was sparkling clean upon arrival and truly felt like a home away from home. I appreciated the ample free parking and close proximity to a grocery store and shops. However, the star of my stay was the spectacular nightly sunset, accompanied by the sound of crashing waves below.

Maui Kai is a real hidden jewel. The condo has an unobstructed ocean view of Lanai and Molokai. Every night there is a beautiful sunset and if you are lucky a rainbow during the day as well. We enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves. We came to celebrate our birthdays and can't wait to come back and stay in Maui Kai Condo 206 again.

The unit was just superb - so nicely laid out and convenient - I found a fantastic little restaurant/bar very nearby! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
