Snorkeling is an option just out front (though better at other locations in Maui). There is not a sand beach here, but an ocean wall. As mentioned, better beaches are scattered all over Maui. The bed is very comfortable, kitchen well stocked with the right stuff, wifi available, and has a washer/ dryer in the condo. This makes staying here easy. The Kaleialoha Resort is clean, well maintained and quiet. Additionally, the resort has a grill patio that we used extensively. We would recommend this condo/ resort and if going back to Maui in the future, we would definitely want to stay here.

We were very pleased with the condo. It was clean and nicely furnished. The bed was excellent. The best part was the left over things left by others. It was nice to find salt and pepper, sweetener, coffee filters, and Saran wrap. We often stay in condos where everything must be purchased. This was really helpful. The lanai was so nice, right on the beach. Should we return, we will stay here again.

We had a fantastic visit to the wonderful island of Maui. We loved the condo. It was very comfortable. The condo's balcony was where we found ourselves most mornings eating a yummy breakfast watching the sun rise and in the evening it was perfect watching the sun set into the ocean. We also were lucky enough to watch the full moon set from the balcony. That was the best. The bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fans provided a cool breeze flowing throughout. But they really were not needed because the tropical winds blew in off the ocean and provided just the right touch. Everything we needed was provided for us. We loved the almost daily turtle visits and the snorkeling right at the condo was fantastic. Thanks so much and we will be back to this condo for another stay for sure in the near future.

209 is decorated beautifully and has a fantastic view. The cupboards were stocked with basic seasonings so we didn't have to go out and buy everything and there was a cooler for lunch on the beach. The bed was comfy and it was nice to have a full sized couch. We had a great view of the sea turtles and whales from our lanai. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation here.

The best condo ever. Clean, geat location right on the beach, priceless view from our balcony. Many sea turtles around this area. The owners made sure you have everything you need for your stay: towels, beach accesory, kitchen supplys, maps, books about area and places to visit, detergents, and my favorite: List of owners favorite places to eat and to visit. My favorite was The Sea House :) Thank you very much for letting us stay in your beautiful condo. We will be back for sure :)

This condo was priced 80$ less than comparable places anywhere on the western part of the Island and it wasn't lacking in anything. Turtles visited the rocks right off the beach every afternoon we were there and we never had to go to another place to snorkel to feel content. Great location, amenities, and most importantly value makes this an a+ in my book.

We really enjoyed our stay at Condo 209 in Kaleialoha Resort. Condo 209 was very tastefully decorated with a lot of high end furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked since we cooked a fair amount while there. Our view from the lanai was gorgeous, observing the whales in the distance and the turtles up close near the reefs. We snorkeled right in front of the condos and saw some very colorful fish, not to mention a turtle only 15 feet away from us. Sitting out by the water on the comfortable loungers right in front of the condo was great, and we could walk just 100 feet to the condo complex next door to access the water. I loved that you could walk down the street to the farmers market. About 10 minutes drive south of condo is Kaanapali beach which is very nice, with fair snorkeling by the black rock. The Old Lahaina Luau is fun, with delicious authentic Hawaiian food, all drinks included, and good show, all right on the water. Driving The Road To Hana is a must while in Maui. We left at 6am for the drive and avoided a lot of the traffic, and that allowed us to stop and hike to waterfalls along the way, and have our packed lunch by the ocean (thanks for the cooler and beach chairs supplied in condo 209!). Swimming in the Seven Sacred Pools just past Hana was gorgeous and exciting, with all its waterfalls. We then drove the back way home, which was more beautiful land, cliffs, and scenery. The road is paved most of the way with only 2-4 miles of grated gravel which isn't bad at all. It was well worth it to go home this way, rather than turning around and taking the same way that we came. We had a mustang convertible which was awesome for the drive as far as sightseeing and it tolerated the road past Hana fine. The Sea House Restaurant just a few minutes north of condo 209 has delicious seafood and is right on the water. We loved everything about our stay in Maui in condo 209, and hope to come back again! The photos on this website look exactly like it actually is!

The location has easy access to all West Maui activities (Lahaina harbor, beaches, snorkeling, hiking, shopping, etc) and a wonderful beach area for relaxation and viewing whales in the channel between the islands. The bed was very comfortable and the facility clean and friendly. We loved it!

The location is excellent if you want to be away from the big resorts in Kaanapali but still close to everything. It is within walking distance to the supermarket, coffee shops, etc. There was awesome snorkeling right outside the resort. If you aren't into snorkeling, you can see the resident sea turtles from the balcony of the unit. We also saw a small shark and a ray. We would definitely stay here again!

Very pleasant experience being a stone's throw from the ocean from our lovely balcony. Second floor is ideal with little worry about security issues and the view was fabulous. Condo was perfect except for lack of a kitchen exhaust fan which posed a slight problem when cooking. However, overall ventilation was very good so smoke cleared very quickly. Everything else was great. Porch light would be nice.

The condo was very clean and well resourced(no Ac but that didn't trouble us). I was a bit worried it might be noisy with the bedroom on the road side of the complex but this was not a problem at all. It is quite dark in the bedroom so it was necessary to have the light on all the time. Liked the fact that there was no beach directly in front of the condo so people couldn't walk past - beach to one side was perfectly adequate for a swim. The beaches at Napili Bay or at Kaanapali are much nicer but also have hordes of people. Good location for visiting the sights of Maui. Overall I would definitely recommend this unit.

Condo is very nice except no AC. Also there was no deadbolt on the front door, so security was lacking. They were working on the concrete so there was a lot of dust and you have to leave the windows open because there is no AC. The light outside the BR window stays on so it is not very dark when you're tryimg to sleep.
Manager response:
Thank you for your honest comments.

A vacation owner's nightmare is having guests in your condo while construction is in process. Because the work never seems to be performed as it is scheduled, guests sometimes get affected. I apologize that you had to endure the dust and noise while they repaved the walkway.

Your comments on the lighting and dead bolt are excellent and I will look to correct both of those issues.

As for air conditioning, I am not a personal fan of AC and prefer opening doors and windows and using fans, so have not had AC installed in my unit. I have found there are few times during the year AC is necessary. However, I understand that is a matter of personal preference.

All the best to you and hope you return to Maui again.

Kristi Kindred, Owner, Kaleialoha Resort Condo 209

This unit was awesome. Very clean and nicely decorated. Everything was super. I especially enjoyed my daily ritual of a nice glass of local wine on the balcony for sunset. The views were beautiful! There was some construction going on during our stay, but it wasn't that much of an inconvenience. We didn't need to be sleeping in past 9am anyway. But it would have been nice to know that it was going on before we arrived. Chuck was very informative and the detailed communication via email was easy to understand and very thorough. Location was nice. I liked that we were away from the tourists. It was more intimate and the locals were fantastic. Ohana Taco stand was a great find and inexpensive eats for a quiet and relaxing night in. We didn't receive a welcome package. I was a bit disappointed about that. Maybe with the economy being down they don't do that anymore. All in all, our stay was awesome and I would rent this unit out again the next time in Maui. Thanks

I enjoyed my stay at the Kaleialoha Condos in May of 2009. It is a small, quiet complex and located close to Kaanapali. I stayed in #209 which was very nicely decorated and had a comfortable bed, full kitchen, shower/tub, and a flat screen tv in the living room. It does not have AC but with the fans, windows and sliding glass door open, its not needed. When you step out onto the balcony, there is a nice table and chairs. Down below is a grass area and then the wide blue ocean. You can see sea turtles popping their heads up and watch the sunsets from your balcony or the grass area. There really isn't a beach and its not the best swimming area but the great beaches are close by. The health food store and a small farmers market are right down the street...then a little farther down is a regular grocery store. If I stayed on the west shore again, I would stay in this condo unit.

My husband and I stayed here for 7 days for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely perfect. The address is Lahaina, but the condo is really much closer to Napili Bay. The location is ideal, and the setting is gorgeous. Not only was the condo beautifully decorated and completely upgraded, but every detail to make our stay comfortable was thought of - the owner supplied beach chairs and a cooler in the bedroom closet, and of course there was Kona coffee in the kitchen. Although the interior of the condo was beutiful, the view of the ocean from the lanai was the best part; you could see Molokai and Lanai right from the porch! When you were ready for some sun, it was a very short walk out to the lawn and patio with beach chairs that sits right above the ocean wall. There is small strip of beach in front of the condo, but it is a bit rocky, so you have to be careful about swimming there; however, this doesn't take away from the experience at all, and we were more than satisfied with our stay. We are missing the sounds of the ocean lulling us to sleep each night and can't wait to return.

We spent three weeks in this nice condo in Feb 2009. The unit itself is just terrific - comfortable, well-appointed and decorated and enjoying fantastic views from the deck of both Lanai and Molokai (and many passing whales). The building is nicely located in Western Maui about 5 miles north of Lahaina and 5 miles south of Kapalua. Shopping, food, etc., in ample and within walking distance and the bike riding to the north is really quite good. The only thing that would have improved the experience would be deck furniture that was a little more comfortable. But this place is really very, very nice and will not disappoint in any way.

This is a beautifully (and recently) remodeled condo near Ka'anapali Beach in West Maui with ocean views of Molokai and the sounds of surf!

Unit 209 was absolutely perfect: beautiful welcome basket, glorious view only steps from the ocean, clean, well equipt, beautifully decorated...and an extremely good value. We are even considering buying a condo on Maui but would always compare a new purchase to #209. The complex was beautifully maintained and very quiet. Appreciated the private parking space also.
