We greatly enjoyed our stay at Kaleialoha #105. The condo was exactly as represented in the listing (loved the videos - we knew what to expect and it delivered). The location was convenient (close to the amenities of Ka'anapali, without being in Ka'anapali) and the Lahaina harbor was only about 10 minutes away. The green sea turtles in the ocean just outside the condo were a real treat. Loved the sound of the waves - we ate breakfast on the lanai every day. One of the neighbors blew the conch shell so everyone would come outside to watch the sunset every day - what a treat! Having the washer/dryer in the unit was a big plus. Stop at Costco (next to the airport) when you arrive to stock up on food, aloha shirts, discounted dinner cruises, and macadamia nut gifts (just don't tell your friends you brought their presents at Costco). The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast every day and dinner when we didn't feel like going out.

My husband and I did not want to pay big money to stay in luxury hotel, however, we got all the luxury we needed in this condo. The condo amenities were superb! The farmers market was on a walking distance, so we could stock up the fridge with all fresh veggies and fruits, the beach was just steps away, resort swimming pool was around the corner, and the condo location was perfect for our outdoor adventures. We could not expect more. Thank you! Mahalo!

Recently stayed here with my family and it was lovely! The condo has a beautiful view and most nights we ate dinner outside on the patio watching the sunset (amazing)! Last year we came to Maui and stayed in an expensive resort (paid 3x as much) and never got a view even close to this. Plus for people who love to snorkel, there is a small (almost private) beach right in front of the condo with a bunch of rocks and the turtles come up everyday to swim there and eat off the rocks. Beautiful place - we all had a lovely time! Thank you again!!!

The lanai is a beautiful place to watch the whales breach and frolic, have breakfast and enjoy pupus and a mai tai with a candlelight dinner. Enjoyed Bbqing at the ocean's edge. We love the sound of the ocean, so it was lovely listening to the waves at night. Overall, very comfortable place to spend a week in Maui. Bring binoculars for best whale watching. Turtles will greet you with a heads up in the morning. Wonderful, quiet clientele. It would be nice if they moved the smoking area which is just to the left of the condo by the waters edge to the front of the condo so the smoke doesn't blow into the condo...

The condo size and appointments are absolutely wonderful, but don't attempt to move a beach-side lounge chair onto the the ground-level lanai as the on-site "lounge chair monitor" takes a count each day. Not being one who likes to be in public view, I moved one of the lounges onto our lanai, but despite the maximum number of people ever using the 18 chairs on a daily basis, having one on our lanai was unacceptable and removed by the manager :( Other than that and a closure of the swimming pool for 1-1/2 days for maintenance...our stay was delightful and we will return.

Aloha, Cheri! Where should I start! From swimming with my turtle buddies (remember folks - observe, don't disturb!), to the beautiful views of Lanai and Molokai, the rainbows, a return trip to Mt. Haleakala, the constant sound of the ocean, the beautiful grounds, the friendly folks, the gas grill, welcoming the spectacular sunsets each evening! A great location. A short drive to Front Street in Lahaina. We went to the Old Lahaina Luau, had cocktails at The Mixed Plate next door before the show. Saw Cirque Polynesia. Also, went to the Kupanaha Magic show dinner theater at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. The condo was comfortable and well equipped and it was great having a washer/dryer in the unit. Loved the large shower. The only con was that it got a bit warm in the unit a few times. The fans were helpful. Too bad the association didn't allow screen doors to be put on the front doors. When the front door is open a beautiful breeze blows through the unit. :-) We experienced our own little slice of heaven for 2 weeks. Mahalo, Cheri!

Hi all, We had a blissful time at Kaleialoha. The view from condo 105's lanai is just amazing. Each morning we look out and see Molokai and Lanai islands and greet the green turtles at the condo beach. At night the sunset was so beautiful! We all felt so relaxed and at peace. We came with young girls and they had a terrific time. They are not strong swimmers and when we were at the condo they tended to use the pool, which is very comfortable. We would recommend this place without reservation. Mahalo to Cheri.

Nice clean first floor condo opens to grassy area to seawall. Genereally pretty quiet, wxcept for the roar of the waves. Access via steps to beach close by; the beach here is submerged during high tide. Ocean bottom is sandy with rocks protruding, and more rocks offshore for snorkeling. Living room/kitchen is bright and cheery. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped, and there were also a few basic spices and coffee items, paper goods, and the like. Good place to cook you own meals (also Bbqs close by). Bedroom is kind of dark, since windows there open to enclosed entry area. About a mile to convenient supermarket, and strip mall type restaurants close by. Not luxurious, but for the price, excellent location, and nice unit, it's a great value.

When we go to Hawaii we want to spend as little time indoors as possible. This condo was a great place to stay for people who are not interested in fancy pants hotels. On the minus side it could use an air conditioning unit for the hotter months and the internet was out. There was no cleaning spray for the counters in the kitchen and insufficient soap in the bathroom for the length of our stay. Finally, the shades on the bedroom window were basically homemade, kept falling down and allowed the obnoxious outdoor passage lighting to beam in at night and keep us awake.

We had the condo for a week. We appreciated the nice welcome basket and the location facing the ocean was great. We literally watched whales jumping out of the ocean right from the patio. We also saw sea turtles come right up to the sea wall. The ground floor location had some access advantages, but was also often noisy with people walking right in front of you and playing catch, etc. in a way that really invaded our perceived space. Nothing that could really be helped. The condo has a nice (though out-dated) kitchen, although some of the teflon pans have deep scratches that are not healthy & should really be replaced. The furniture inside & out was all pretty out-dated and well worn. The condo comes with internet, but we never did get a connection to it, which was a disappointment. The bedroom was small, but we thought the bed was comfortable and storage was adequate for our needs. The furniture in the living area was just not very comfortable - fortunately, we did not spend that much time there. The TV was pretty old and small - which normally would not be that big of an issue since we like to be elsewhere most of the time, but it was the NCAA basketball tournament. We were provided a motion detector, which made us concerned for security, and we discovered it was so sensitive it was an annoyance & we didn't use it - just locked up at night. With noise around us on the lawn, it was just as well. Proximity to Lahaina was good - some nice restaurants and beaches are nearby. We have been to Maui many times, so it goes without saying that Maui is a truly wonderful place, and this is a very nice part of the island to stay. I suspect next time we would stay elsewhere in Maui, although overall, we did have a pleasant time here.

The convenience of being on the first floor was nice. Open the patio door to the lanai and heaven was waiting for you.Steps away from the water and the sea turtles that visited every day were so exciting. The convenience of grocery stores and places to walk within a short distance was also great. We highly recommend for those who are looking for relaxation and the quiet side.

We loved unit 105. Its location was great and the others at the location were very friendly. It brought back fond memories of my stay on the same highway as a kid nearly 40 years earlier. The views every day and sunsets every night were stunning. The first floor location and ability to walk right out onto the lawn and overlook the shore made this condo functionally much larger than its actual footprint. Both adults and both kids (boys 8 and 2) thought it was terrific. The wifi access was a bit odd, with my laptop only occasionally getting a signal, but that was very minor. (After all, if you're on your laptop much with a view like that of 105, you're nuts!)

This unit is tastefully decorated and nicely furnished. However, upon awaking our first morning we were puzzled to see metal poles standing immediately outside the lanai door. Then upon further inspection tools, paint buckets, air compressors, and much more were strewn around the lanai. Since we are travling with a 2 year old this immediately meant that the lanai area was dangerous. At 8 AM a work crew showed up and closed off our access to the ocean-- both from the unit and the steps around the building-so much for all of the promises of ocean and 30 steps to the waves. After telephoning the owner we were immediately offered a 50% discount or the option to move out...considering that a day had already been wasted and we had already settled into the unit and that we had not traveled to Maui to spend all of our time searching for a new unit or packing and unpacking several times. Of course the owner, being an attorney and real estate broker, knew that she was in trouble. There is no excuse for not knowing what is happening at your own unit, especially since the construction had been continuing for several weeks. There are many other units in the same area as well as better locations in Kihei. In general the Big Island has much more to offer compared to Maui.
Manager response:
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the work being done on the property. We were under the impression that you were quite satisfied with our offer of a half-price stay and would certainly have helped you find an alternate accommodation. The fact is that property management did not notify us of this project as they normally do. Had we been aware that work was to take place, we would have notified you immediately and made every effort to accommodate you.

We had to extend our stay 1 day early and Cheri could not have been more accommodating. We'd definitely recommend this condo - especially if you're looking to relax and want to spend a lot of your vacation at the beach. We cooked, on both the gas and the charcol grills and they were clean and ready to use. With stores in Lahaina and a local natural food store all our needs were met. We'll be definitely back next year. Aloha & Mahala Jim & Pam

I really enjoyed staying at the Kaleialoha Resort. My condo unit was outfitted in a tropical motif, the livingroom was roomy and pleasant, the kitchen was appointed with most everything I needed, and the bedroom was very nice. My unit also had a small ice-chest, a beach umbrella, snorkels and fins which was a big plus. There were also 2 different kinds of plug-in fans which were definitely needed on the hot days (90 degrees plus). It was wonderful to open the glass doors, walk out onto the grass and sit in a chaise lounge, or eat at one of the tables, and look out onto the ocean. A beautiful experience! I would definitely go back to the Kaleialoha Resort.

I had never been to Hawaii, had a business trip to Honolulu and had a few days to see another another island. I loved the 1st floor location; we could walk out our door and overlook the ocean. We were surprised to see a gathering outside our first night there (Monday), and discovered an informal potluck that occurs every Monday night. Everyone was friendly, made us feel welcome even thoughwe were short term, and recommended things to do and places to eat. I wanted to see whales and sea turtles and we were told to just look out at the water. We saw more whales (at a distance) than we did later on a whale watching boat trip. The condo was very clean and comfortable. My son and I would gladly stay there again.

Very quaint, clean and quiet condo space. The owner was avaiable to speak with prior to my stay. The manager was also available to us, although we didn't need them during the 2 week stay. The views from the patio were unobstructed and beautiful. As soon as I can get 2 weeks off again I plan to stay in the same codo. We had everything we needed...towels, kitchen stuff, music, comfortable furnishing... a great market to walk to, a grill on sight...It was wonderful! Safe area. We never felt nervous about being watched, robbed...( as there were 2 women staying )... great local restaurants near by too! Book it now!

This cozy unit made our stay in Maui pleasant. As new parents, it was great to feel like we were enjoying it all (whales and Maui sunsets from the lanai or even the couch!) even though we needed to stay close to 'home' much of the time. The parking lot is small so it was so easy to tote baby and gear to and from the condo. We appreciated the nearby amenities as well such as a kids' playpark and supermarket. Having laundry right in the unit was very handy and a feature we will seek out at other destinations. The kitchen was so well-stocked that we even ended up making baby food there (the selection of 'bought' food wasn't great, even at Wal-Mart). Since the whole focus of this review has been the family-friendliness of Unit 105, I will mention that we did have enough room in the bedroom for a crib (great baby rentals on Maui!) but there is no bath tub, only a shower. Lastly, if you do go, make sure to take your garbage out frequently, in just a few days, creepy crawlies will come to visit. We felt so safe letting our little guy play because it's a ground-floor unit. The location is also very handy for setting out for other beaches in the area. We especially recommend taking a snorkel set out to Kahana Bay -the fish were fantastic! :-)

We had stayed in another unit at this location and really enjoyed the area. Found this unit via a google search - ground floor - made the stay much better. Unit contained all the amenities required, very clean and very comfortable. Definitely a possible unit for our next trip to Hawaii as it is close to everything, has access to a good beach, good snorkeling and plenty of turtles. Good location for whale watching later in the year.

A most enjoyable stay at this one bedroom condo. Clean with lots of room for two end equiped with everything you needed. The nice part was the ground floor unit was great for access to the beach area. The patio was in shade for most of the day once you have had enough of the sun. The people we met in the complex were most helpful and friendly. This was our first trip to Maui and we would highly recommend this unit. Particulary enjoyed swimming with the resident turtle about 50 feet directly in front of condo. Very handy to all services. Pool was always clean and hardly used. We stayed here for a week in April 2008, our first time to Maui and the first time not staying in a hotel, this couldn't have been a better experience! The condo (105) was just as described, the pictures found on their website (www.alohacondos.com) are exactly what it looked like and we really enjoyed being on the ground floor, just a short skip to the lawn chairs and BBQ. We bought groceries and cooked most of the time we stayed and this was an added plus, the kitchen was fully stocked with pots & pans, dishes, silverware, everything we needed and felt right at home. The condo isn't a part of the Kaleialoha Resort but the staff couldn't have been more helpful in answering questions and giving us information about best places to eat and visit (and so were the other tenants and homeowners). There's no beach directly in front of the resort but made no difference, the snorkeling was good, we had sea turtles not more then 5 feet away and it's a short walk to Black Beach. I highly recommend Aloha Condos and Unit 105, everything was perfect and we're planning another trip this year, will definetly stay here.

Bed was fairly comfortable. The only negative would be the cockroaches. There were lots of them. This is a common problem on the islands. I would maybe consider this unit again but I would make it a point of seeing where the buildings were at with infestations. Again, it happens everywhere over there.

What a wonderful restful holiday we had at Kaleialoha Resort #105. The room was immaculate and the Aloha basket was very thoughtful. The well stocked condo had everything you could need, including beach chairs, Boogie Board and something they didn't advertise, a private washer and dryer. The Lanai is about 15 steps to the ocean, where every day we would watch the turtles feeding and the whales breaching. There is a small beach (went swimming there 3 times) but its probably more accessible in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The back off the Lanai is well grassed and lots of lounge chairs for sunning. If you are looking for parties and night life in you place of residence, this is not the place for you. If however you are looking for a quiet well kept little peace of heaven to recharge your batteries, this would be a great place for you to go. For us, it was just a wonderful restful 3 weeks. By the way, the golfing was fabulous. Aloha.

A short drive to Lahaina for excellent tacos and happy hour at the Blue Lagoon. Longs Drugs store is the place to purchase beverages when you run out. Did I tell you about the turtles, hootie the seal and dolphins? Big/huge turtles swim right up to the waters edge, hottie swims by occasionaly and we've seen dolphins in the distance.

Nice clean first floor condo opens to grassy area to seawall. Genereally pretty quiet, wxcept for the roar of the waves.

Other than the airplane ride to Hawaii, our experience at the condo was wonderful. The people within the complex are super people and very inviting. They made us feel we were still home and just having a neighborhood party every day at 5:00 in time for the sun to set. The condo itself was perfect for the two of us.

We loved the condo! Being that close to the ocean was spectular not to mention being able to walk right out to it. We listened to the waves all the time and really enjoyed watching the surfers ride the waves in front of the condo. The condo itself was perfect for us-we loved the bed! Usually when we leave home we say oh I can't wait to get back to our bed-this bed was the opposite-we wanted to take it with us! The kitchen was well appointed an it was great to have the washer and dryer in the unit. We would definitely stay here again-enjoy yourself the location is fantastic!

This was our second time to Maui as a family and we truly enjoyed our experience. The vacation rental was in a great location with a priceless view. Our suite was bigger then we expected - a king size bed and a washer and drier that I don't even think was mentioned in the website. It was exactly what a family with two small children were lookng for. The pool was clean and the parking was included! Highly recommended cheers

We loved this place. It's pretty, well set up, comfortable, great bed. It was wonderful being right on the water- you could watch the surf, the turtles, snorkel, walk the beach. It's close to coffee, shops, good places to eat, farmers market, beaches, the harbor, etc. Even tho' it's in the midst of lots of condos we still felt a sense of being secluded being on the lanai and looking out at the water.

My husband, 4 year old son and I stayed in unit 105 and had a wonderful family vacation. This ground floor unit was not only well equipped with everything we needed, it was also perfect for my son to play on the grass outside our lanai. The location and views were spectacular. The few steps down to the beach made for a nice quick jump in the ocean. We also saw many sea turtles just off shore. All the people we ran into at the Kaleialoha were very helpful and welcoming. We'd definitely stay there again!

We had a wonderful stay in Condo 105 at the Kaleialoha Resort. Everything was as described and all of the amenities and accomodations were high quality. We were especially pleased with the king-size bed, which was extremely comfortable - something we can't say about every condo we've stayed in!! We had the trade winds, so there was always a nice breeze thru the unit. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and we would recommend this condo to anyone.

We just spent a wonderful 10 days at Cheri's place on Maui and it was an ideal experience. This is the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home in the U.S. -- and it was perfect. The condo was close to the beach and on the ground floor, just a short walk across the lawn to enjoy our morning coffee with Molokai, Lahaina and the Pacific to greet us. The manager had keys waiting for us on arrival. Everything was in order when we arrived, and we were pleased to learn that the pictures online matched the home. It's actually nicer than the pictures!

Definitely a possible unit for our next trip to Hawaii as it is close to everything, has access to a good beach, good snorkeling and plenty of turtles. Good location for whale watching later in the year.

Really nice owner, gift basket, wonderful neighbors nightly gatherings to watch the sunset. This unit is right on the patio area. Great views of the ocean but limited privacy.

We consider it our home away from home and long to return one day. From our lawn chair perch with feet up on the wall we watched the turtles and whales and soaked the sun and were lulled by the waves and the soft breeze.
