We were last here 34 years ago - hiked the NaPali Coast, stayed in cabins that no longer exist at the state park. Watched fisherman sift surf sand from nets for puka shells to make necklaces. Had passion fruit pie and other local delicacies.
Shift forward to today - Princeville, the wildlife refuge at Kiluea Light House, and chickens on the loose are new to us. Still enjoyed the local color at Hanalei (Puff the Magic Dragon) along with the ease of this posh resort. The vegetable markets open at different locations around the island are good places to find baby ginger, sweet bananas, and other fruits in season. The Kauai coffee plantation near Lihue was wroth the trip! We will stop at the Guava farm plantation across from Kiluea on our way back to the airport.

We have had a wonderful experience here in Kauai. We have been here several times now and this is by far the nicest place we've stayed. All of our needs were met here, from the sand toys, umbrella, and beach chairs to the kitchen essentials and pool. Everything was perfect and we felt very much at home.
