My son summed it up in one word "quality". Moana B exceeded our expectations. We loved the big open living area where we spent most of our time. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and the fans worked so well. The lanai, pool and grass area kept the children entertained and happy. This place was stocked far better than we had expected. It was like being at home except with a beautiful view. Graeme and Kristen are amazing. We called twice for some things we needed and the very next day problem solved with a smile. Graeme was so helpful in sending us to beaches and other activities to fit our needs. We drove all over the island and the location in Kapaa is perfect. Thank you for providing everything you advertised. I wish I was there right now.
Beautiful night and sunrise.

My friend was staying in House B and invited me to stay overnight. It is spacious, modern, and clean. I loved all the paintings on the walls. There was plenty of breeze coming in off the ocean. I didn't jump in the pool but it looked great. The highlight for me was the sunrise in the morning. The view is amazing!
What an excellent place

Can't say enough positive about the Moana Kai Beach Houses, particularly House B, which is the one that we stayed in. There were a total of 6 of us. We love Kapaa and therefore, thoroughly enjoyed the location. The pool is awesome! House is very well equipped with all the essentials for those who enjoy cooking, which we do. We will definitely look to rent this unit again for our next trip to Kauai.
What a Wonderful 4 Days

6 of us came from Oahu to play in a Bridge Tournament in Lihue. Our 4 days were just too short!! The Beach House B is everything you could imagine it to be plus more. Each couple had their own room and bathroom. The kitchen was the most equipped kitchen we have ever come across when renting a condo unit on Vrbo The view from the living room. dining room and kitchen was "pure Hawaii". We were able to walk along the beach and ooh and aah. Thank you ever so much for sharing!
Perfect spot for a perfect vacation

My husband and I stayed here in February and it was a great pick. It's a quiet little area, minus the resident roosters which didn't even bother us. The beach in front is somewhat rocky, full of shells, but a great place to watch the kite-surfers all day long. It is conveniently located near a few restaurants and bars that you can walk to. The house itself was beautiful. It had everything you could want and more. Very nicely upgraded. The jacuzzi was great to have and we used it every night. The pool is small, but perfect to layout next to and dip in if you get too hot. We would rent this place again! I even forgot a couple things when we checked out and they sent them to me right away. Great job!
This was the perfect place for a 30th wedding anniversary trip!

My sister asked for help to make her first time visit to Kauai to celebrate her 30th wedding anniversary something special. This 3 BR condo was roomy and wonderfully located for two couples. The beachfront view that took in the private hot tub and freshwater pool was exquisite. It was a direct walk to the beach with no obstructions, just sand and trees between the lanai and ocean. The condo was thoroughly outfitted and well-equipped with very nice furniture. My sister and brother-in-law had a wonderful time. It could not have been more perfect for us! Thank you so much!!

2 couples for 5 nights. Loved the place. Very clean and quiet. Nice amenities. Great beds, very open and airy. We will probably go back next year. If you like to fish, there are guides that launch right outside your door for ocean fishing.
great time at the beach house

We had a real nice time and enjoyed the house and the proximity to other items around. The east side was nice because we could go to the North and South shores easily and we enjoyed all the restaurants in the neighborhood on the east side. The house does not have a/C, but the ocen breeze was nice and kept the temps pleasant. The furnishings and finishes are very nice and the place was clean and high quality. The open living room and kitchen was great and having 3 bathrooms was really nice.
Perfect for our family.
Susan from Tualatin, Oregon on 12/06/2012 said:
There were 6 of us in the house, 3 generations, and it fit us perfect. The children, 6 and 3, played in the pool or hot tub all the time. The 3 bedrooms and 3 baths allowed everyone their privacy. It is right on the end of the walking path, and we used that daily either for walking, running or biking. Kapaa is centrally located on the island, and the main road is busy. We just learned to adjust our travel times to miss the busy traffic times. Grocery stores are nearby. Roosters were loud, so we purchased fans and left them at the house. The fan noise drowned out the rooster crowing and we slept great. Kids loved all the roosters and chickens around!
Felt like home!

Seriously, the house and the island felt like home. It was very hard to leave. Favorite things about the beach house: - The view is great! It's a short walk across a small field to the beach. The beach is small, but fun nonetheless. - The pool was awesome! We weren't sure how big it would be from the pictures, but it is a decent size and deep enough to paddle around in. - The hot tub on the lanai was small but great! - The Pecoff artwork! It was so cool to have those in each room. Much better than typical hotel/resort artwork! - Great and comfortable furniture - very well stocked kitchen - Very convenient to have a washer and dryer, plus detergent, etc. - Good location - just south of downtown Kapa'a and right on the trail, so an easy walk. Close to Safeway/Foodland. Critique of the beach house: - We could not get the barbeque to work. - Could not find the iron/ironing board. - The shampoo/conditioner is definitely not enough for two people for one week. Not a big deal, but just nice to know. - I think there was only one hair dryer in the master bedroom. - The twin beds in the smaller bedroom were kind of awkward for a couple, but probably great for a family with kids. Favorite things we did: 1. Hiking: Napali Coast Hike to Hanakapiai Beach & Hikes in Waimea Canyon 2. Snorkeling: Tunnels Beach, Poipu, Ke'e 3. Beaches: above beaches, plus Kealia beach north of the beach house in Kapa'a - a 5 - 10 minute drive 4. Smith Family Luau - great food and show. 100% worth the money! 5. Princeville Ranch Zip Line - we did the "Zip & Dip" tour and it was a blast! 6. Hanalei and Kapa'a were my favorite towns to explore 7. Food: the Luau had amazing food!, Scotty's in Kapa'a for $8.75 breakfast buffet and a great view, Olympic Café in Kapa'a had good food and people watching, L&L; Hawaiian BBQ had great Kalua Pork & BBQ plate in Hanalei, and try some Hawaiian coffee from any local coffee shop!

What a treat and perfect size for what we needed. We came to Kauai for a last Hurrah for my daughter leaving for college. There was my husband and I and 4 18 year old teens. The space was relaxing. These silly 18 year olds played Marco Polo in the pool enjoyed the Jacuzzi and made brownies in the oven. The walking path was a terrific addition as they all kept in shape with biking and running early every morning. The place was clean and well equipped. A great home base to get to the north or south or west shore. And close to the airport and Costco. The view breath taking. Rocco of aloha condos helped us in every way with minor problems with the dishwasher to suggesting places to go. I would recommend tis to any group or family! There is something for every one. And yes the Roosters are not fun at all and very loud but, well Bring ear plugs go to be early and get up early and you will be just fine,:)

Easy to find with directions from airport. Plenty of shopping and small casual eateries near by. Pack a small bag with your flip flops and do a load of wash while sitting by the pool or a stroll on the beach walk. Every time one of us said they won't have one of those we found what we were looking for in a place we would keep it in our own homes.

This home definitely rates a return visit. From the moment we stood in the living room, looked out past the pool, and down the sandy path to the beach we were delighted. Sitting on the lanai watching the kite surfers or walking down the the beach to watch them strap on their equipment was entertaining. Early morning sunrises enjoyed with a cup of coffee was terrific, too. The home had everything we needed and was immaculately cared for. Convenient to stores and restaurants, and well situated for exploring the island in either direction. We'll be back.

We stayed here for a week. There were 6 of us (me, my wife, and my two daughters with their significant others). The place was great. It was spotless when we showed up and everything was in working order. We cooked all our breakfasts here and ate them on the patio with a great ocean view every morning. We also cooked some great dinners using the outdoor grill. The hot tub at night and the outdoor pool during the day were very nice for relaxing. We also did morning walks on the beach which was 1 minute away. We had the master bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed, an awesome jacuzzi tub (definitely a plus) and a great bathroom with great shower. Not having loud air conditioner was not an issue in fact the ocean breeze and the silent ceiling fan were better. Having a nice sound system and internet TV allowed us to play Music through Pandora with Zach Brown and Jimmy Buffet being the featured artists. Having Beach towels, beach chairs, beach mats, boogie boards, and snorkel gear to take to the beaches we visited made beach life very comfortable and fun. The location of this house was perfect as we spent time on the south shore and the north shore. It was also a 5 minute walk to the local grocery store. One solution to the rooster crowing was we stayed on North american time, which meant we went to bed at dark (7 or 8 pm) and got up before sunrise every morning (5 am). The roosters don't really start crowing till about 4 am. I also got used to them after a couple of days. We saw some awesome sunrises with this schedule. We bought most of our food at Costco in Lihue (15 mins away) which helped on costs. We hiked the Na Pali Coast, Alaka'i Swamp (world's highest rainforest), and the crater below Mt Wai'ale'ale (the wettest spot on earth). We surfed at Hanalei Bay, Boogie boarded at Lydgate Beach, and took in the sites in Waimea canyon and Po'ipu. Kauai is a beautiful and wonderful place. It was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. We will be back soon.

Kapaa is a quiet little "locals" town and is not for someone who wants to be pampered and catered to. The locals are very pleasant and friendly, but they are not there to "serve" tourists. This condo was perfect for us! Everyone had their own bathroom, and the common areas were spacious and comfortable. The huge sliding glass doors to the lanai made the living room feel even bigger and the small dipping pool was perfect for cooling off. We were able to walk and bicycle to nearby stores, shopping and restaurants. Tiki Taco has the best fresh-caught fish tacos! Hukilau Lanai (just a short drive away) serves almost all locally grown (or caught) food. We had a fabulous dinner there! This condo is located at the start of a nice 4-5 mile bike trail that meanders up the coastline. Just out the back gate, there is a locals beach that although isn't great for swimming, is very nice to walk on. . One drawback is that the chickens in the alley directly below the Master Bedroom window start crowing and clucking around 2 am. While the crowing roosters are just part of the island, these are really loud!! The window on the opposite side of the bedroom looks directly out to the front door so there isn't much privacy when it is open. We can't sleep with earplugs, but if you can, I highly recommend them. The other drawback is that the master bathroom is really tiny and cramped, and is not good for two people. There is a spa tub in front of the bathroom door that could be ripped out and replaced with a nice double-sink vanity! It would make a world of difference so I hope the owners consider it. Overall, I would definitely stay there again! Just remember in Hawaii, some patience, respect to the locals, and a smile will go a long way.

We stayed 8 days at this house. There were 6 of us (me, husband, two kids 9year-old and 7 year-old, and grandparents) The beach had very soft sand, but we always drove to other beaches to swim and snorkel. The location of the house was very central to our activities. The house had plenty of room for all of us. The phone and WiFi didn't work so we used our cell phones. Grandparents did laundry several times, so glad to have washing machine/dryer. Husband and I watched sunrise every morning from our bedroom. Roosters are very noisy all night and early morning. Bring earplugs. My husband needed them to sleep. Loved the house for our family.
What a great house.

This was our second stay at Moana Kai Beach house B. Everything was just as great as the first time. The house is always well stocked and clean. You couldn't ask for a better location and view. The pool and hot tub are a huge bonus. It's hard to even consider a resort when you have it all at this house without the crowds. We are already planning our third stay there. We highly recommend this house

The house was great. We had 2 toddlers plus 4 adults. Our plans for beach going were limited due to torrential rains and flooding. The house was big and open, allowing the toddlers to run. The hot tub was a great back-up to the beach, and we used the pool too. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The location is great for restaurants and grocery stores. We enjoyed many meals at the local restaurants. The only negative was the roosters waking us up way too early.
Ann from Traverse City, Michigan on 03/07/2012 said:
What a fabulous vacation...except for the roosters. We managed to move all but one of the roosters out of the lot next to the beach house by banging pots and pans in the area to help them move on. We did this about sunset time. The house was very conducive for the six of us to enjoy a ten day stay in Kauai. It had everything we needed from kitchen supplies to boogie boards to a gas grill to beach towels. We could walk to downtown Kapaa on the trail located just outside the door. The two six-foot glass sliders and screens off the living room were delightful with the sun shining and even when it rained. The lanai has a dining table and six chairs that was perfect seating at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Kauai is a beautiful island with plenty of places for sight-seeing and lots of shops in the small towns all over the island. It is a place we would definetly visit again and the Beach House is where we would stay.
Quiet, convenient and comfortable beach house
Arizona Auntie from Tucson on 01/21/2012 said:
Well-decorated and excellently maintained beach house. This 3 bedroom house is ideal for a family with young children. A small yard pool and a close "baby beach" provide fun water features. Lots of dishes, pots and pans, soaps, towels, spices and Ziploc bags set this far above the usual rental amenities. The decor is pretty and beachy but relaxed. Our group had 3 generations, including a very busy toddler, and we all loved the property. Unusually comfortable beds! The house is located on a great coastal walking and bike path and just 2 blocks off the main road. The house is in Kapa'a (yes, the "Honeymoon in Vegas" Kapa'a), a great location. It is close to the airport and half-way between Poipu and Hanalei. Loads of cafes, shops and groceries within 5 minutes. The house is the middle unit of a tri-plex; we never saw or heard any other residents. While there are stairs at the entry, the house and yard are one level and good for children or the mobility-challenged. There is an unobstructed view of the ocean, and the beach is just across a vacant lot. The owner is clearly very responsive to renters. We enjoyed the beach toys and the great information binder. A better house than many far more expensive vacation rentals.

The Moana Kai House was ideal for our family of 5 to have for our week in Kauai. The layout was perfect and the amenities of beach view/access,bike trail, pool, hot tub and plenty of space exceeded our expectations. The location in Kappa was within walking distance to retail and also central to the island for day trips both south and north. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. The wild roosters and chickens are loud starting about 2 am. This is common throughout the island so be aware.

My husband and I recently stayed a week at Beach House B for our honeymoon and the owners did a great job in making sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing week. The view of the beach was just as you see in the pictures and it was great to relax in the hot tub at night and watch the waves and kite surfers as the sun went down. There are lots of grocery stores and shops nearby to walk to so the location was handy. It rains a bit more in Kapaa than it does on the south and west shore so we found that we drove down to Poipu and to the West shore several of the days we were there to find the sunshine. But the local kayak tour to Secret Falls was definitely worth it! The house has internet, full kitchen facilities and even netflix (although for some reason we couldn't get the sound to work with netflix but that was likely user error). And yes there are lots of roosters as we had read in previous reviews but we went there prepared with ear plugs which definitely helped! The only downside I would say is that the house is located right next to a park that seems to attract locals (I won't say shady locals as we never actually had any problems but...you get the point) so we had our guard up a little bit. But there is a long boardwalk starting from the park alongside the ocean which is great for running or walking so all in all our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable.

The Moana Kai beach house had everything we could have asked for and more- at a very reasonable price. Makes you wonder why anyone would ever want to stay in a hotel. How could you beat 3 comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms; huge, beautifully decorated living areas and outdoors!- your own private hot tub- and almost private pool? All arrangements were perfect and the owners of the beach house thought of everything you could possibly need. We especially appreciated the beach towels, chairs and the fully-stocked kitchen. A perfect little beach for relaxing and sunbathing was two minutes away and we took advantage of the paved walking trail that was just steps away. We love the low-key style of Kapaa with its great shopping, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants (the Olympic Cafe became our favourite- it had a nice variety of food for all ages.) Kapaa is also very central to everything so that a trip to Hanalei and the NaPali cliffs is as easy as an excursion to Poipu. We did have a bit of an issue with the roosters- but you do actually get used to them and find it quite easy to fall back to sleep. I think I would try ear plugs the next time. Some people might be put off by the public dock that is right next door- and the-less-than-swanky neighbourhood- but that didn't bother us at all- the beauty of the home more than made up for the surroundings.

The house was fantastic. Great location, easy access to both North and South sides. Very comfortable accomodations, convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, shopping and bike rentals for the bike path. Only suggestion would be to add a first aid kit to the unit (husband cut his foot while snorkeling) and a full length mirror for us short types (my Mom taught me to always check myself in a full length mirror before leaving the house, you never know what you'll find!) And...I challenge anyone to find a location on the island where the roosters aren't an issue. They were great natural alarm clocks!

Clean, comfortable, stylish, and all with a view of the beach. It is within walking distance to old Kapa'a town and all the restaurants and shops there. The pool is great. Though it is shared with 2 other homes, we were the only ones using it. I wish I was still there.

Four of the five loved the roosters! After the first night we got used to them and were not bothered. Hunter (age 9) says he didn't like them but I noticed that he went looking for them every morning to make usre they were OK.

When we walked into Moana Kai we felt right at home. Everything in the house was well stocked which you normally don't get. And all the furniture was very comfortable and the place was very clean. Everything you see on the website is what you get. We've rented some before where that's not the case. The view was excellent. We started our vacation watching the whales and ended it watching the Kite Surfer's all from the Lanai. A short walk down the walking path was a perfect swimming beach. And then there's the rooster's. They are a part of the Island. I wouldn't change anything about this place. Until we meet again Moana Kai.

The condo was very nice, well decorated, and very well stocked which was appreciated. The beds were fabulously comfortable and the hottub was a nice surprise. The three drawbacks to the condo however were: 1) it is set *very* near a park where the local homeless would hang out till late at night - not a place I would recommend bringing young children too. 2) The beaches on the entire east side of Kauai were not swimable when we were there and it is a long drive to get to a beach that is swimable. 3) There are roosters RIGHT OUTSIDE the master bedroom suite that commence between 4-5am EVERY morning. They are ~10 ft away from the window and there is NOTHING you can do about it. (We wondered why the condo came w/ earplugs, and now we know.) Hard to have a nice vacation when you can't sleep through the night. sigh It's unfortunate that such a lovely condo had these drawbacks, it was a nice place, but we couldn't recommend it to friends given the roosters and location.
Thank you for your review and for staying at my beachfront home in Kauai.
My home is adjacent to Lihi (pronounced Lee Hee) beach park and boat ramp in Kapaa. As of May 2010, there are *no longer* any homeless people hanging out in the park. The Kauai Police Department (KPD) has put up new signs and are now enforcing the following illegal behaviors - overnight camping, drinking alcoholic beverages and parking for more than 24 hours. These rules are strictly enforced by the KPD and any loud noises after 9PM are also not allowed in the park. I've been assured by the KPD - and have direct personal experience - that they will enforce all of these rules, especially when contacted via phone. They also patrol the parks but not constantly. If there are disturbances please contact me or the KPD directly and we'll make sure it's resolved immediately.
I have a 1 year old and have had only positive experiences with people we meet when toddling around the park day or night.
As with any beaches in Hawaii, the conditions can vary from day to day - even from hour to hour - and can run from calm to rough. You must have been in my home during a rough time as I have swum along the ocean just across the bike path bridge (100 feet from the home) dozens of times when the conditions where calm. This is typically in the summertime but can be also any time of the year.
We have recently had problems with the roosters due to construction on a home nearby (which is now complete) and the roosters had moved in closer to our home during construction. This is no longer the case and I am constantly addressing this island-wide issue on a local basis and will continue to do so moving forward.
Given that my home is at the trail head of the new (2009) five mile beach path and is only a 10 minute walk from dozens of restaurants and miles of beaches, I hope that you had a chance to enjoy some of the reasons that I bought in such a great location. The beach path is going to be extended in 2011 to Lydgate Park will continue even further south in the future.

A Perfect Week On Kauai

We had a lovely time on Kauai in mid-February and very much enjoyed our stay at Moana Kai Beach House B. It was perfect for 3 couples. We saw humpback whales breaching from the lanai and enjoyed cooking meals in the well-appointed kitchen. The location on the island is great. If it wasn't for the roosters (that seemed to begin crowing each night around 1 a.m.), it would have been perfect. Thanks!
Great family vacation house

We found the quality of the house and the supply of essential household items(eg. soap, cleaning supplies, paper products) to be exceptional. Also the bath and bed linens were top quality. The house is well maintained as was the pool and landscaping. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise every morning; thanks in part to our grandchildren and the rooster living next door. Our grandchildren loved the pool and all the toys provided by the house. We made good use of the sand toys at the various beautiful beaches around the island. This was our first visit to Kauai. We hope to be back soon.

This was an incredible rental. Great location. Easy access to beach and paved trail begins out the back door. Kapaa centrally located around island if you plan on spending time on each side of the island. Best stocked kitchen of any rental I have stayed in (plenty of plates, glasses, pans, rice cooker, blender etc.) Our family loves to cook and we ate almost every meal at the house. I would love to stay here again.
Great place to stay!

The unit was very clean when we arrived. The furnishings and decor exceeded our expectations. All the amenities required for a pleasurable stay were provided and it was a big plus to have boogie boards, snorkel gear, reef shoes and toys provided as well. They thought of everything. Will definately stay there when coming back.

The place was clean, well appointed and has a really nicely laid out floorplan. Awesome lanai with perpetual ocean breeze. Nice beaches, close to everything yet tucked away for some privacy. The only thing we won't miss are the noisy roosters, but even they became tolerable after a day or 2 in that environment! Great private condo at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!
The only thing I'd change is the roosters

Nice house! We shared with another couple, and there was plenty of separation and privacy. Before choosing this house my wife and I did a lot of research on condos on Kauai, including some of the two and three story apartment-like ones being advertised elsewhere. One night we went for a walk along the path behind our house and walked past a large condo complex we had previously considered. What a relief we chose Moana Kai Beach House! The poor folks we saw through their sliding glass doors in their tiny little living rooms... that could have been us!

I stayed in the home with 5 other people. My wife, my mother-in law, My best friend his wife and son. We had a blast. The property is beautiful and spacious. We were all very comfortable and loved the hot tub and cooling pool. We were able to see the sunrise every morning and were able to take our time with coffee and cereal in the morning. My friend did hear the rooster's at night but they were far from annoying, and they are the most beautiful roosters I have ever seen. I would love to come again and stay longer next time. Our daughter's wedding was wonderfull and we enjoyed the entire island from Luau's to waterfalls. I have showed the pictures of the home to my family and you will probably hear from them. I will contact you first when I do return. Thanks Again Paula & David Sims

Great place, plenty of room, comfortable and cozy beds, close to the beach, hot tub and container outside full of beach toys (Nice bonus)! Only downside is that there is no AC in the house. Plenty of fans...but it gets a little warm. I would stay there again!!!

The home is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bath beach house with breathtaking secenery. The house is completely furnished with anything you would want. The home is completely furnished with everything you could possibly want, and plenty of room for family or friends to spend a vacation together. The pool is just a few steps off the lanai and the beach is out the gate and maybe 50 feet from the lanai. Everything in Kapaa is so convenient, good places to eat and to shop. I found it very easy to drive anywhere on the island from this location. We enjoyed our stay eminsely.
Loved it, didn't want to leave!

The location is great, especially if you have small children. The baby beach is a very short walk away and our daughter loved going there. The house faces out to the ocean and there's a continuous, wonderful breeze that blows, keeping you cool. The home was well appointed, with everything that we needed and we had a great time here.

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful condo in Kapaa. Extremely spacious, modern, clean and well equipped with everything you could need, Moana Kai was the perfect place to start our holiday in Hawaii. The in room jacuzzi was bliss & the lanai hot tub was the perfect place to sit back & watch the windsurfers & waves roll in to the beach only 50metres or so from the house. The rooms were well stocked with amenities & the beds were extremely comfortable! The louvre windows throughout the property allowed for a great trade wind breeze to come through all of the rooms also. Jim's welcome hamper was also greatly appreciated & got us into just the right mood for the rest of our holiday. We were able to walk easily up to the shops & restaurants nearby (Mermaids Ahi taco's are still making me salivate!) & were able to drive to other beaches & sights without trouble. The main road can get rather congested at times, but were were on Hawaii time, so didn't mind it too much. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have more time to spend at this amazing condo! Couldn't have asked for anything better! Mahalo, Lachlan, Kass, Jane & Simon

This is a beautiful beach house with lots of space and great furnishings. You couldn't ask for a better central location to cover this side of the island. The dipping pool was perfect for our 3 and 5 year olds, as well as us! Only downside, I believe there was a hot tub that wasn't working and the cats in heat (crying in the early morning) were far worse than the usual roosters the island has. Ear plugs were provided though! Would love to go back.
Thank you for your review.
The hot tub on the lanai is fixed. It's a great place to kick back and soak while watching to ocean waves rolling onto the sandy beach right in front of the beach house. It's only a few steps to the cool dipping pool.
The feral cats were "evicted" last year when I sent more than 18 of them to live at the humane society.
The roosters have also been given their move-out notices and haven't been an issue this year (2009).
Now a peaceful nights sleep is what you can expect. It's what my family and I had experienced living in our home from February through July this year. We welcomed our new son, Kai, into the world here in May and the sounds of the waves lulled him to sleep every day and night.

This rental is centrally located in Kapaa. You can walk to restaurants then take a walk along the beach path. There is a beach perfect for young families in front of the rental or a surf beach within walking distance. If you don't want to swim in the ocean, there is a pool. The rental is beautifully decorated and has all the ammenities. I would certainly recommend this rental to family and friends and hope to return soon.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and it was definitely one of our most pleasant vacations ever. We enjoyed swimming at the local beach and lounging around watching wildlife. The house was clean and completely furnished with every comfort of home. We all enjoyed having access to a pool and hot tub without needing to leave the yard. This beach house provided a superb place for relaxation, as well as a great base for seeing the sights around the island. In short, our stay there has set for us a new standard for comfort and style. It's hard to imagine staying at a different place in Kauai. When we visit Hawaii again, we will definitely be looking for an Aloha Condo property to stay at, no matter what island we visit next.

Found the home after searching many websites. Stayed there for four days and really enjoyed the property. Lots of room, beautifully decorated and many extras, great access to the beach and the lengthy walking path along the ocean heading north out of Kapaa. Close proximity to food and beverage. We got up early every day and watched the sun rise over the Pacific from the lanai, then took a long walk oceanside...breathtaking and very relaxing. Only drawback was the roosters; they're everywhere on Kauai and crowing like mad around 5 am! Property to the south of the rental leaves a little to be desired as well. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again.
Keep coming back

This is the 4th time I have stayed here at Moana Kai Beach house unit B. I love this place. I have been to Kauai many times and this is definitely my favorite place to stay. Nothing beats the location, atmosphere of the property, and the interior set up of this beautiful condo. When I walk in it is like walking into my own private beach house, with the beach just outside the Lani doors. The waterfall and the pool in the front yard, with the beach just beyond are a constant reminder I am vacationing in beautiful Kauai. Recently they have added a great little walking path down along the shoreline, giving easier access to the beaches and to downtown Kapaa. The shops and restaurants are a quick 5 minute walk from the condo. I can not imagine an easier place to relax in the evenings. Listening to the waves outside the front doors, and enjoying the beautiful furnishings and decorations inside. I loved the bright, vivid paintings throughout the house. My favorite thing about this house, besides its easy comfort, is that the sun rises directly outside the front doors. The first rays of dawn shine strait out of the ocean directly towards you. Breathtaking.

My family has enjoyed this incredible home 2 winter vacations in a row. It's the perfect lay-out to share with another couple or family, with the master separate from the other 2 bedrooms. (We go with our pre-school age daughter & my parents too). My pet peeve when staying in hotels/condos/homes are the quality of beds most owners use. The beds in this place are top knotch! It feels like we are staying in a friends home, not a rental property. Great job Dornfelds!

This is THE most beautiful, calming, relaxing and classy home I've ever stayed in for a vacation. I loved the spacious and open floorplan of the home, the kitchen is fully equipped with *everything* to cook gourmet meals every day (I saved $$ on being able to cook the clean kitchen, and I LOVED doing so with the sliding glass doors open while overlooking the pacific ocean and with fresh breezes coming in!). The house is decorated beautifully with original and inspiring artwork throughout the home, and every piece of furniture is comfortable and pleasing to the eye. There is a sense of Zen throughout the home. It felt like my long-lost home right away and I got (way too) comfortable right away. The bathrooms are squeaky clean and showers are so comfortable; the master bedroom is HUGE and sensual, the 2nd bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean with direct sunshine and moonlight flooding in :-) I loved waking up to free- roaming roosters every morning and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean every night... yess... I loved being able to sunbathe privately in the front yard that overlooks the ocean! and having access to everything the entire island has to offer quickly because this property is located right in the middle of the coastline which makes it an equi-distant drive to the North or South shore. I just loved that I was able to truly relax in a clean, visually beautiful and stimulating environment. I will vacation at this home again and again in the blink of an eye when I go back to Kauii. My experience in this home was a healing and loving one and I can't wait to be back...

We were two couples who rented this house. We had never been to Kauai before. the house was absolutely beautiful--the funiture--the pool--facing the ocean. There were some issues for us--- 1)There was no air-conditioning----coming from California, where we have no humidity with our heat, it was hard to dry off, and sleep. I inquired about the air-conditioning before deciding to rent it, and was told that there was a strong breeze that came through the house, so we wouldn't need it. Well, there was a strong breeze, but it never came in any of the bedrooms, because of the weird windows. And even with the breeze, it was HOT! 2) Another thing that you can't escape on this island---rousters----everywhere !! They start crowing around 4 AM. And you can't close your windows, or you will suficate. We won't be back, we like the Big Island and Maui better, but anyone who can tolerate the humidity, and crowing rousters will love staying here.
Thank you for your review.
You must have been here during an unusual time when the trade winds were not blowing - sorry it was so hot for you. I've doubled the window size for air flow in the master bedroom since your stay. I've been staying in my home for the past two months and the trades have been blowing strong and steady every day, which is typical.
The roosters have been moving on to other areas of the island due to my rooster relocation program and "encouragement" to leave the area. :)

We were 3 retirement age couples from the midwest - having 3B/3B and still being able to hear and see the ocean was a priority Experienced travelers, this home was homey, immaculate with great attention to detail. It had great beds and linens, everything we needed for our stay, great views, and a hot tub that was hot! Tho we didn't use the pool it was sparkling clean and inviting. We loved the proximity to the airport yet it was quiet and private. Groceries, restaurants, gas, etc. were close by and all the locals were friendly and helpful. Thanks Jim for your part in a great stay!

The home worked well for our large group of family. The hot tub is too small and not of commercial quality. The house although nice is dated. The kitchen could use new appliances and a good cleaning. The small unheated pool was adequate only since no one else in the tri-plex used it. This is the only time we have rented a "Vacation Rental" and although the owner and local manager were as helpful as they could reasonably be the property really is not suitable for commercial rental. I am a Resort Owner and our standards are much higher in the Industry. The beds are first class as are the bathrooms. Fairly close to the ocean and very pleasant Lanai in good or bad weather.
Thank you for your review and staying in my beachfront home in Kapaa.
In the last year I have replaced the washer/dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator.

We loved the beach house. It is really fixed up nice. The grounds are very pretty too. We liked the location for seeing lots of sights conveniantly. The spa didn't work, that was a disappointment. The beach is not very good for swimming. Pretty big surf. The chickens kept us awake at night. Very annoying!
Thank you for your review and staying at my beachfront home in Kauai.
The spa has been fixed and has been working without any problems for over 1 year. I am continuing to provide the chickens with better places to live far from my home.

While the surroundings are not the most beautiful, the unit and the amenities were second to none. We felt like staying in a billionaire's condo right in the heart of Kauai. All the services were nearby and we had a short drive to reach one end of the road or the other. The owner was very quick to help with a little problem we had with the TV/Video entertainment system. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely time at Moana Kai Beach House. It was in a nice location, close to restaurants and shopping, and was also close to the beach as well (just a few shorts steps). The home was very clean and well appointed. There was even a selection of books for reading and about exploring the island. The pool was gorgeous, and the patio area was great for early morning coffee. The only drawbacks...... no A/C, which in late afternoon and early evening tended to be pretty hot. Also, and most importantly, THE ROOSTERS!!!!!!! They are everywhere! We definitely needed to use the rooster earplugs which were provided, but you could still hear them, some mornings starting at 3am! Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again, if we ever have the chance!

Beautiful home with amazing view. Easily accessible & great directions. Centrally located to beach, walking path and town. Grocery store and starbucks close by. House was furnished with towels, beach toys/activities, all kitchen needs, bathroom needs (down to hair dryers), games, t.v.'s, barbeque, pool and hot tub. Can leave many things home. Great beach/baby beach within walking distance. Great pool within feet of covered patio. ate outside many times. Only thing is the book (which had so many details in it) was hidden away in a storage area--would've been nice to have been out on counter. We could not get over how so many items were made available for the stay. Great being on the east coast--close to airport, laua, and north and south beaches Also it does really only sleep 6, and the bed for a child making 7 was not available. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Ear plugs were great, roosters were noisy but beautiful.

Everything about this place was perfect, especially the view from the lanai. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not working and the barbque grill did not work so well. There was also a few nights of noisy partying behind the house. All these things are minor though compared to all the positives. We also loved the decor, cleanliness, and comfort this house gave us. Thankyou Mr. Dornfield, we would love to come visit again!!
Thank you for staying in my home. The Hot Tub and BBQ on the lanai have been fixed.
