This rental is centrally located in Kapaa. You can walk to restaurants then take a walk along the beach path. There is a beach perfect for young families in front of the rental or a surf beach within walking distance. If you don't want to swim in the ocean, there is a pool. The rental is beautifully decorated and has all the ammenities.
I would certainly recommend this rental to family and friends and hope to return soon.
Keep coming back

This is the 4th time I have stayed here at Moana Kai Beach house unit B. I love this place. I have been to Kauai many times and this is definitely my favorite place to stay. Nothing beats the location, atmosphere of the property, and the interior set up of this beautiful condo. When I walk in it is like walking into my own private beach house, with the beach just outside the Lani doors. The waterfall and the pool in the front yard, with the beach just beyond are a constant reminder I am vacationing in beautiful Kauai.
Recently they have added a great little walking path down along the shoreline, giving easier access to the beaches and to downtown Kapaa. The shops and restaurants are a quick 5 minute walk from the condo.
I can not imagine an easier place to relax in the evenings. Listening to the waves outside the front doors, and enjoying the beautiful furnishings and decorations inside. I loved the bright, vivid paintings throughout the house.
My favorite thing about this house, besides its easy comfort, is that the sun rises directly outside the front doors. The first rays of dawn shine strait out of the ocean directly towards you. Breathtaking.
Wow, a huge place!

Moana Kai is such a special place. We loved the location and I felt

Top Notch Everything!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and it was definitely one of our most pleasant vacations ever. We enjoyed swimming at the local beach and lounging around watching wildlife. The house was clean and completely furnished with every comfort of home. We all enjoyed having access to a pool and hot tub without needing to leave the yard. This beach house provided a superb place for relaxation, as well as a great base for seeing the sights around the island. In short, our stay there has set for us a new standard for comfort and style. It's hard to imagine staying at a different place in Kauai. When we visit Hawaii again, we will definitely be looking for an Aloha Condo property to stay at, no matter what island we visit next.

Found the home after searching many websites. Stayed there for four days and really enjoyed the property. Lots of room, beautifully decorated and many extras, great access to the beach and the lengthy walking path along the ocean heading north out of Kapaa. Close proximity to food and beverage. We got up early every day and watched the sun rise over the Pacific from the lanai, then took a long walk oceanside...breathtaking and very relaxing.
Only drawback was the roosters; they're everywhere on Kauai and crowing like mad around 5 am! Property to the south of the rental leaves a little to be desired as well.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again.

My family has enjoyed this incredible home 2 winter vacations in a row. It's the perfect lay-out to share with another couple or family, with the master separate from the other 2 bedrooms. (We go with our pre-school age daughter & my parents too). My pet peeve when staying in hotels/condos/homes are the quality of beds most owners use. The beds in this place are top knotch! It feels like we are staying in a friends home, not a rental property. Great job Dornfelds!

This is THE most beautiful, calming, relaxing and classy home I've
ever stayed in for a vacation. I loved the spacious and open
floorplan of the home, the kitchen is fully equipped with
*everything* to cook gourmet meals every day (I saved $$ on being
able to cook the clean kitchen, and I LOVED doing so with the
sliding glass doors open while overlooking the pacific ocean and
with fresh breezes coming in!). The house is decorated beautifully
with original and inspiring artwork throughout the home, and every
piece of furniture is comfortable and pleasing to the eye. There is a
sense of Zen throughout the home. It felt like my long-lost home
right away and I got (way too) comfortable right away.
The bathrooms are squeaky clean and showers are so comfortable;
the master bedroom is HUGE and sensual, the 2nd bedroom has
floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean with direct
sunshine and moonlight flooding in :-) I loved waking up to free-
roaming roosters every morning and falling asleep to the sound of
the ocean every night... yess... I loved being able to sunbathe
privately in the front yard that overlooks the ocean! and having
access to everything the entire island has to offer quickly because
this property is located right in the middle of the coastline which
makes it an equi-distant drive to the North or South shore.
I just loved that I was able to truly relax in a clean, visually
beautiful and stimulating environment. I will vacation at this home
again and again in the blink of an eye when I go back to Kauii.
My experience in this home was a healing and loving one and I
can't wait to be back...

We were two couples who rented this house. We had never been to Kauai before. the house was absolutely beautiful--the funiture--the pool--facing the ocean. There were some issues for us---
1)There was no air-conditioning----coming from California, where we have no humidity with our heat, it was hard to dry off, and sleep.
I inquired about the air-conditioning before deciding to rent it, and was told that there was a strong breeze that came through the house, so we wouldn't need it. Well, there was a strong breeze, but it never came in any of the bedrooms, because of the weird windows. And even with the breeze, it was HOT!
2) Another thing that you can't escape on this island---rousters----everywhere !!
They start crowing around 4 AM. And you can't close your windows, or you will suficate.
We won't be back, we like the Big Island and Maui better, but anyone who can tolerate the humidity, and crowing rousters will love staying here.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review.
You must have been here during an unusual time when the trade winds were not blowing - sorry it was so hot for you. I've doubled the window size for air flow in the master bedroom since your stay. I've been staying in my home for the past two months and the trades have been blowing strong and steady every day, which is typical.
The roosters have been moving on to other areas of the island due to my rooster relocation program and "encouragement" to leave the area. :)

We were 3 retirement age couples from the midwest - having 3B/3B and still being able to hear and see the ocean was a priority Experienced travelers, this home was homey, immaculate with great attention to detail. It had great beds and linens, everything we needed for our stay, great views, and a hot tub that was hot! Tho we didn't use the pool it was sparkling clean and inviting. We loved the proximity to the airport yet it was quiet and private. Groceries, restaurants, gas, etc. were close by and all the locals were friendly and helpful. Thanks Jim for your part in a great stay!

The home worked well for our large group of family. The hot tub is too small and not of commercial quality. The house although nice is dated. The kitchen could use new appliances and a good cleaning. The small unheated pool was adequate only since no one else in the tri-plex used it. This is the only time we have rented a "Vacation Rental" and although the owner and local manager were as helpful as they could reasonably be the property really is not suitable for commercial rental. I am a Resort Owner and our standards are much higher in the Industry. The beds are first class as are the bathrooms. Fairly close to the ocean and very pleasant Lanai in good or bad weather.

We had a lovely time at Moana Kai Beach House. It was in a nice
location, close to restaurants and shopping, and was also close to the
beach as well (just a few shorts steps). The home was very clean and
well appointed. There was even a selection of books for reading and
about exploring the island. The pool was gorgeous, and the patio
area was great for early morning coffee. The only drawbacks...... no
A/C, which in late afternoon and early evening tended to be pretty
hot. Also, and most importantly, THE ROOSTERS!!!!!!! They are
everywhere! We definitely needed to use the rooster earplugs which
were provided, but you could still hear them, some mornings starting
at 3am! Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay
there again, if we ever have the chance!

We loved the beach house. It is really fixed up nice. The grounds are very pretty too. We liked the location for seeing lots of sights conveniantly. The spa didn't work, that was a disappointment. The beach is not very good for swimming. Pretty big surf. The chickens kept us awake at night. Very annoying!

While the surroundings are not the most beautiful, the unit and the amenities were second to none. We felt like staying in a billionaire's condo right in the heart of Kauai. All the services were nearby and we had a short drive to reach one end of the road or the other.
The owner was very quick to help with a little problem we had with the TV/Video entertainment system. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As well as getting married this was our first
time on Kauai. We had such an awesome time and we feel so fortunate to have found Moana Kai. What a beautiful home!!! Everything about this place was perfect, especially the view from the lanai. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not working and the barbque grill did not work so well. There was also a few nights of noisy partying behind the house. All these things are minor though compared to all the positives. We also loved the decor, cleanliness, and comfort this house gave us. Thankyou Mr. Dornfield, we would love to come visit again!!

Thank you for staying in my home. The Hot Tub and BBQ on the lanai have been fixed.

Beautiful home with amazing view. Easily accessible &
great directions. Centrally located to beach, walking path and town.
Grocery store and starbucks close by. House was
furnished with towels, beach toys/activities, all kitchen needs,
bathroom needs (down to hair dryers), games, t.v.'s, barbeque, pool
and hot tub. Can leave many things home. Great beach/baby beach
within walking distance. Great pool within feet of covered patio. ate
outside many times. Only thing is the book (which had so many
details in it) was hidden away in a storage area--would've been
nice to have been out on counter. We could not get over how so
many items were made available for the stay. Great being on the
east coast--close to airport, laua, and north and south beaches
Also it does really only sleep 6, and the bed for a child making 7
was not available. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Ear plugs were
great, roosters were noisy but beautiful.
