Who does a guest contact if they encounter a problem during their stay?
Each condo has an assigned person who lives nearby to help with any problems during a guest's stay. Contact information for this person is included in the check-in instructions.

Who do I contact if I have questions about my accommodations or my reservation prior to my visit, and I can’t find the answer on the website?
You should contact the condo owner (or owner’s representative) directly. Contact information is unique for each condo and is included on all of your reservation correspondence.

Are the properties privately owned?
Yes, every property is privately owned. They are NOT time-share vacation rentals.

How do I book this Condo?
You can book this Condo from any of the Condo pages by entering your travel dates and selecting the Quote It or Book It button.

You can also use the search function of the website to find which properties are open for your dates. When you've found a property that you want to book, just select the Book It button or save the properties that you are interested in. Once you are on the My Saved Condos page (a link is in the upper right of every page), you can book one or all of the properties that you have saved by selecting the Book It button to begin the check-out process.

What should I expect when booking this Condo?
If you are booking more than 30 days from your arrival date, your credit card will be charged 20% of the total cost to hold the Condo. The remaining balance will run 30 days before you arrive and you will receive all of the check-in details via email.

Reservations made less than 30 days from the arrival date will be charged the full amount at the time of booking.

Where do I find the policies?
Policies are specific for each condo. Policies are found on the search results page (expand all details) or by entering some dates on the condo page and choosing save for later. You'll also see a policies box appear as the first step when you begin the booking process.

Are the rates shown on the website the best rates available?
Yes. Our real-time system searches the available dates and finds the best rates. Rates will change.

What is the security deposit?
The security deposit is a damage deposit. The funds are authorized (not captured) on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date. The authorization will be converted to a charge if there is any damage or loss to the Condo - see the Condo policies for details. The security deposit amount for this Condo is $250.

Are the availability calendars up to date?
All bookings are done by the website. The calendars are updated real-time as bookings are made on the website.

Can I get an early check-in?
You can pay for an early check-in when booking and be guaranteed an early check-in on or after 8 AM on your day of arrival. The cost is either a percentage of the rental cost for the previous night or a fix dollar amount and with this Condo, it is 75%.

Can I get a late check-out?
You can pay for a late check-out when booking and be guaranteed a late check-out time up to 6 PM on your day of departure. The cost is either a percentage of the rental cost for that night or a fix dollar amount, and with this Condo, it is 75%.

I am arriving late to the Condo. How will I be able to check-in?
Late check-ins are available for this Condo. There is a front desk where you will be given keys and directions to the Condo. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you can check in any time after 3 PM on your day of arrival.

Lihue Airport (LIH)
1. Exit on Kapule Hwy (1.8 miles)
2. Slight right at Kuhio Hwy (25.3 miles)
3. Turn right at Ka Haku Rd [You'll see a gatehouse with fountain on either side that looks like water flowing down stairs] (0.1 miles)*
4. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit and stay on Ka Haku Rd (1.4 miles)
5. Turn left at Liholiho Rd (0.2 miles)
6. Turn right at Honoiki Rd (0.3 miles)

*If you go over a one lane bridge you've gone too far.

Don't be fooled

Any thoughts of a great resort quickly slide away as you are delivered to condo 1557. The golf cart takes you by the staff break alcove, the garbage dumpsters, the resort laundr...

UPDATE March 17, 2011: The path to the pool from the condo has been redone and is again open. The maintenance area has been remodeled and the dumpsters are now kept behind gates. The pool and surrounding area have been completely resurfaced and are working great! The restaurant and lounge won't likely be open until 2013 or later. Thank you for your review and I apologize for the current state of Hanalei Bay Resort. Yes, the resort is currently in a transition period following the fire in July 2011 that destroyed the roof of the main building at the resort The roof has been removed and most of the demolition is done and the rebuilding is now beginning. The main pool and hot tub area are being resurfaced and is expected to be functioning again in late December 2011. The front desk, restaurant, lounge and support areas (like the sundry shop) are being redesigned and are expected to open again in 2013. 2012 will be a transitional year at the resort but it is still the best location in Princeville with a beautiful walk to the beach. My hope is that you'll come back after this transition to be pampered with Aloha and to see how wonderful this part of the world truly is.
