Perfect Stay!

This townhome had everything we needed during our vacation and was immaculate. All of the small details like comfortable bedding, well equipped kitchen, and beach gear made it definitely feel like home away from home. The owners were very kind and respond quickly to any questions. The location is perfect near beaches and shopping. The activity center help us plan our luau off the resort. The restaurant at the resort has great food and drinks. We even saw a whale breach during breakfast by the water! We would definitely return. 100% recommend to anyone. less

Beautiful condo- exactly as pictured and described- hope to stay there again in the future!

Great place and great location

We have just stayed here as a family of 8, a lovely and well equipped home in Hawaii, 3 big bedrooms and 2 double sofa beds in the lounge. I love how much there was that we could use, no need to bring any beach towels, we didn’t have to buy anything that you’d need for the beach. The resort is lovely, clean and everyone is so helpful and kind. The location is brilliant for the beach, shopping and airport. less

Much needed vacay

The condo resort was amazing. Staff very polite and helpful. The condo clean and convenient for what we needed. Sleeping arrangements were perfect. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking ware and necessities you would need. Which came in handy when you can cook your own food. Tourist activities were 10-15 minute away. The owner of condo was very helpful. Our flight didn’t leave until later in the evening so they were able to accommodate us. Hands down 5 star rating. less

Perfect family get away

We have rented condos & stayed at hotels multiple times in Hawai'i and this ranks at the top. We had plenty of room for 7 people, and the convenience of the kitchen & laundry facilities was a great bonus. We loved the lanai, perfect spot for morning coffee and we spent a lot of time out there. The proximity to the pool made it handy for the teens with us, and the big pool was a hit with all. Loved the access to grocery, Kahalua Bay for snorkeling and ease of getting out for road trips. Very comfortable, everything worked & we enjoyed ourselves. less

Excellent Kona Condo stay Sept 2022!!

As I previously shared to Robert & Merilyn's email, we had a great time and found the condo in excellent shape, and did our best to leave it as such. We had no issues, just a great time, as we have had many times before with the previous owner's Fred & Bonnie. We also purchased, and left in the condo, a good quality, red plastic cooler that we used for day trips with sandwiches/water bottles. We left it there in hopes others may find it useful as well. We hope it will be there next year when we hope to return and rent the condo again. Again, no issues, just a great time in Kona and in the Condo (sunsets are beautiful!). All the best, Bob Rasmussen less

Awesome Place

The first words from my 8 year old grandson were: "Wow, this place is awesome!" Most of the previous reviews were pretty much spot on. Everything we needed was provided, we just had to look hard as there were so many storage spaces. The resort was was beautiful and easy to get around. The kids had plenty of things to do outside. Thanks for making this stay very relaxing and worry free. less

Townhome 7-106

Amazing place, although the a.c unit was not enough for that big place parts of the home was super hot. the good thing there was a pool right outside the door... Parking was extremely close for those that couldnt walk far. loved loved loved the 3 baths... We had a lot of guest coming and going so the bathrooms was a big plus. very amazing memories weve made and not sure when the next time we will be able to make more. Thank you so much. perfect place just to relax and enjoy ones company... less

Beautiful condo

This condo was beautiful for our stay. We sat on the balconies at meals and enjoyed the beautiful ocean view, played tennis, and enjoyed swimming.

Fantastic place!

We could have stayed for a month! A fantastic vacation location. The condo was beautiful and spotless. Very large and equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay, from beach supplies to toys and games. The bedrooms and bathrooms as well as dining and living rooms are large and comfortable. The resort itself is beautiful, with pools playgrounds and tennis courts and restaurant. Our grandson was able to pick limes right outside the condo! It is across the street from a supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants and an short drive to Kona and beaches including a great beach for turtle watching .(Kaloko). We had a terrific time! less

Great stay!

Loved my stay here! Good location, lovely condo, good amenities at the condo. I'd love to stay here again!

— Erin, Stayed 06/08/2021

Plenty of room!

A great place for the price! We had 2 other couples staying in the same resort. Their rooms were definitely nicer and more updated, but not as spacious and were more expensive. A couple of minor issues but my understanding is that the place had just sold to new owners and maybe they haven't gotten around to fixing up the place yet. With a few furniture upgrades (couch in living room) this place could be a 5 star condo. The beds were comfy, A/C worked great, and pretty much everything was as it should be. There was one issue, but I don't think it was any fault of the owners. Owners can feel free to email me and I will let them know. Pools were nice and the facility was well maintained. Sadly, restaurants were closed (Covid) but otherwise everything was great. Walking distance to food and groceries. Overall, very spacious especially if you have a large family or 3 couples, and a good bargain at the price. Would consider staying there again. less

First Time Stay at 7-106, Kona Resort

This condo was just perfect! Very roomy, clean and perfect in every way. I will definitely return someday. We were so happy to find snorkels and fins, saved us a bundle. The washer and dryer were a huge convenience with the beach clothes and towels, thank you so much for sharing your home. less

Comfortable Stay for Families

Condo is well appointed--didn't lack anything. Could use a few updates like new beach towels, pots and pans and master bedroom blinds. Comfortable unit with lots of room to spread out. Complex has everything except beach access. Walking distance to stores and a mini-mall. We enjoyed our time there, just beware of early morning pickleball games. less

Our stay

We wanted a staycation to get our minds off of what was going on and I had stayed in this unit previously so I was excited to go back. I was very unhappy when I learned the entire resort was closed and the pools were closed. Wish I had known before booking. It should say that on the website. Other than that the staycation was very relaxing. less

3-19-20 visit.

It was a very nice condo supplied with everything you need. The instructions were complete and well organized Great having nobody above or below us and we really enjoyed the quiet location off of Alii drive. My only suggestion is to replace the Master bedroom bed mattress, it is uncomfortable and noisy. The mattress feels like a futon and not for side sleepers. less

— MARK, Stayed 03/24/2020

Spacious townhome

Wonderful spacious place in a great complex. Lots of room for everyone, beautiful view from the Master bedroom deck, choice of two pools and hot tubs. The unit itself was a little dated but very functional. Would definitely stay here again!

— Colin, Stayed 02/06/2020

Excellent Stay

We really enjoyed our week long stay at Kona Coast Resort. The 7-106 unit is very spacious and was extremely clean. The kitchen was well equipped and even had some of the essentials (oil, spices, etc.) making it easy to cook for our large group. There were lots of extra beach towels and snorkling gear. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the lanai and watching the sunset from the master bedroom balcony. There are several great restaurants within walking distance. less

Comfortable and Convenient

We came from all over the country to attend a family wedding. 7106 is a beautiful and comfortable place away from home. It was well stocked with linens, beach gear, and kitchen utensils. Upon arrival the condo was secure, but smelled and felt stuffy. We paid for AC use but could not get it running for a couple of hours. The contact person on the website was not the current caretaker. We finally got the right person to walk us through turning on and operating the AC. Labeling and/or leaving directions for light switches, fans, and AC would be helpful. We could not figure out how to turn on the stairway lights. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much! less

Comfortable Condo

Our group of 5 felt this condo to be very comfortable and well appointed. There was plenty of space, the kitchen had every appliance and utensil we needed, and we thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast on the lanai each morning. Nice to have beach towels and beach chairs. Great condo in good location - close to the launch of Manta Ray boat trip and snorkeling boat trip. Good snorkeling beaches not too far away, and not far from Kailua-Kona. Also nice to have a grocery store very close. less

Wonderful stay at Kona Coast Resort

We had a wonderful stay at Kona Coast Resort, 7-106! The condo was super clean and had all the amenities! The condo was spacious and easily accommodated our party of 7. We loved the lanai, it was so big and peaceful, a truly wonderful spot for relaxing in the evening. The owners are very thoughtful with all of the appliances, dishware, and supplies. When we come back to the Big Island in the future we will definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our family! less

Bonnie and Fred's condo

Definitely a 5 star rating from all of us! Fred was great to work with through the initial process and during our stay in Hawaii, as was their local person, a phone call away. They all tried hard to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. And the condo itself was wonderful. The location is hard to beat at this complex, with tennis courts outside one door and the tranquility pool outside the other. Plus there's the ocean view that is tranquility itself! And the inside is well stocked with items from books and games to tennis rackets and beach chairs and beach towels. That's in addition to complete kitchen of dishes and cookware (for those, like us, who wanted to eat-in sometimes and relax in the beauty of the grounds). We highly recommend Fred and Bonnie's condo. less

Another wonderful time in Townhome 7-106

We had a relaxing two weeks in this Townhome again. It was sparkling clean, well equipped and spacious. Mostly quiet except for the everlasting leaf blowers. The restaurant down at the main pool is doing a good job. Tasty food, good service. Entertainment every night can make the place noisy and game time has a sports bar atmosphere with three big television sets. The living room at Condo 7-106 has a spacious curved couch as it’s only furniture and in spite of newer seat cushions, dips precariously on the hide-a-bed side. Beds are very comfortable. Beach towels are mostly worn and somewhat raggedy but at least they are available. We find it very convenient to have the washer and dryer in the unit. But don’t start a load if you plan to watch television or chat as the washer is extremely loud. My few little criticisms aside, this is a wonderful vacation retreat and we are privileged to spend our time on the Big Island here. less

July 2018

This is our 2nd time staying at Kona Coast, 2016 and 2018. This spacious condo fit our family of 4 with 2 teens who like space the best! We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful condo which was very well stocked (including books, movies and beach gear). The general location of the condo in the complex is a big plus as well Easy access out the front door for the bbq's and the quiet pool is across the driveway. The grocery store is an easy quick walk for provisions. We are a snorkel family and we loved the close proximity of our two favorites - Kahalu'u Beach Park (you could actually walk here) and Two Steps. Pool bar food is good and make sure to treat yourself to a "lava flow". They also have nightly musicians. This lovely condo checked off all of the boxes that include everything we enjoy and love. We would certainly like to return to Kona and rent Fred and Bonnie's condo again. Mahalo less

Beautiful and spacious

We were so happy to find a condo that accommodated all 7of us comfortably. It was big enough that we all had our own space, but it also had a large dining room table that could sit 8 people. The condo was beautifully decorated with nice Hawaiian touches. You could tell that the owners took pride in offering a wonderful place for people to stay. It has everything that you would want including books, board games, tennis gear, etc. It definitely made you feel at home. The condo grounds were beautifully kept. Our family enjoyed the 2 pools as well as walking the trail to the nearby beach. Can't wait to go back! less

Great Experience

The six of us are in our 60's, and had enjoyed staying at the 3-bedroom/3-bath condo very much. It's clean, comfortable and spacious. There're 2 BBQ grills right outside of the condo, so we didn't need to use the condo kitchen too much. The location is great, the neighborhood is nice. It's within walking distance to a shopping center with a gas station nearby. The owner is responsive each time. We will rent from the same owner if the six of us decide to meet in Kona again. Thank you much and Aloha. less

Even better than expected

We were pleasantly surprised by the size, cleanliness and decor of the condo. Of course we liked it from the pictures and that is why we booked it so it was so great that it was even better than hoped. Big bedrooms, livingroom, kitchen, dining area, and fabulous screened in porch. House was very well stocked and thoughtful touches left my the owners (or management). Excellent holiday home for a family gathering

Thank you Fred and Bonnie for making this place available over the Christmas and New Year season! You have done a great job at making this a welcoming, peaceful and joyful space. My partner and I stayed here with my parents and sister, with other siblings and their families in other condos nearby. We hosted a Christmas feast - the kitchen was fully stocked with every piece of crockery and cutlery we could possibly need, even a turkey baster! Needless to say, we really loved our time in this beautiful condo, it was so relaxing, clean, comfortable and styled just perfectly for a family holiday. We were so grateful for the space to gather everyone and celebrate our first family reunion in a decade. And also the space to have our own privacy when it was needed! We would love to come and stay again in the future for our next family reunion - hopefully it won’t take us ten years! Thank you so much! less

Returning year after year

This condo’s Hawaiian decor says ‘aloha and welcome back when you open the door. Spiffy clean and inviting, it is exceptionally well equipped. We love the location near the ‘quiet pool’, close to two Barbecue’s that are kept clean and ready to use. A few minor criticisms, which should not cast aspersions on the overall review. I utilize the downstairs bedroom and miss having a chair to sit and put shoes or clothes on. I like a wastebasket in my bedroom but solved that with $2.99 at Target. All who sit on the couch wished for support boards under the cushions. So, small negatives and overwhelming positives for this home away from home on the Big Island. less

Spacious condo, great location

Townhome 7-106 was perfect. Great location on the island, and very private with no units above or below. Parking was easy, and very close to the condo unit. The adult pool was also very close. We loved that the condo did not have too many stairs. There is even a lovely ocean view from the top floor. Lots of birds and mongoose around to entertain us in the morning. The condo was spacious and clean, and the bathrooms were nicely remodeled. Thank you very much for allowing us to enjoy it. We highly recommend this unit. less

Great Family Spot

My family, with 3 young kids, rented a 3 bedroom condo for ten days during Ironman week. The condo was clean, well maintained and as advertised. It was spacious allowing my kids room to do activities (so much room for activities), but granted my wife and I our privacy. The pool was perfect for the family as we enjoyed the awesome view of the ocean. There were several beaches within a close drive. Also, the shopping center within walking distance was very convenient. The drive to downtown Kona was 15 minutes. We loved our time at Kona Coast Resort! less

Anniversary vacation

We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and took our son, his family and his wife's mother on this vacation. We loved the townhome. It is a beautiful place set among some timeshare condos. The place was generally clean. There was some dust on some of the wall hangings. However, the linens were clean. We tried to use the snorkel equipment but found that most of the items were defective in some way. They were stored in the downstairs closet of the bedroom. There were toy buckets, fins, goggles, snorkels, boogie boards, and beach chairs. We did use the beach chairs. The closet had sand on the floor and had not been cleaned. It was not useable for storing the luggage and clothing by the people using that bedroom since the "toys" took up the space. There were games, puzzles, books and even some condiments there. The notebooks with menus, brochures and calling cards were helpful in finding recreation and eating places. The condo is located very near a shopping center that has a food market, theater, restaurants, shops and a medical clinic. The shopping center also had special events that were entertaining. The complex included a "quiet" pool right across the street from the condo. There was also a great family pool, restaurant, and many recreational sports courts. Our unit had tennis rackets which we did not use. There were boxes with fresh herb plants and lime trees around that were available for guests to use. Bbqs and picnic tables were located just outside of the condo. All in all the place was wonderful. The master bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and luxurious. We felt pampered. less

Perfect place to explore the Big Island

We really enjoyed our stay at the townhouse! It was a perfect set up for two families with young boys! The bedrooms and bathrooms were a nice size, and the kitchen was well stocked with plates, bowls, etc. since we spent time preparing meals at the townhouse and going out to eat. They also had beach items that came in handy (chairs, boogy boards). We also really loved the resort amenities. Our boys would race to the pool every evening, and their was wonderful live music at the pool. I enjoyed the fitness center every morning too. It was a perfect place at a good price to spend our time on the Big Island, and we definitely will stay here again. less

Kona Coast Resort, Townhome 7-106, Reservation #41342

This Townhome was spacious and beautiful. The artwork was amazing - we enjoyed reading about the pieces in the informational notebook. We all loved the books about the history of Kona as well as Books about things to see and do! Each day was activity packed and we were able to see lava flowing into the ocean!!!! My nephew studied the guide books and had fun reading the details and info about the areas we were visiting. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a three bedroom, three bath unit! The only issue was there were only two keys on the counter when we arrived instead of three. less

Fred and Bonnie's condo has been our vacation destination 4 (or maybe 5) times and it has always provided us with everything we could ask for. The condo itself is very well maintained and has had several upgrades. There is lots of room for our family of 6 and we love the layout of the condo and the large lanai. In addition, Kona Coast Resort is absolutely beautiful with impeccably maintained grounds. Hawaii Family Vacay

Our accommodations at the Kona Coast Resort FAR exceeded our expectations. The condo was clean, well-stocked, and very nicely appointed. Access to the two swimming pools was wonderful and proximity to grocery stores convenient. We had read some negative reviews and honestly, we can't figure out where those people were coming from. The condo was excellent. The A/C in one of the bedrooms wasn't working on the second day, and the local contact worked very hard to get it fixed as soon as possible. We would HIGHLY recommend this condo--value for dollar, it would be hard to beat! The only negative is that it is not located close to good beach access. less

Perfect for large family

Our family had a wonderful time on The Big Island in this very spacious town home. The kitchen was well-stocked and there were plenty of towels. Loved the air conditioning option...especially since we are used to a "dry heat" in AZ. The complex itself was clean and friendly...all classy people with families. Highly recommend! less

Comfortable

There were 8 in our party and we found the condo to be spacious and very comfortable. We took advantage of the resort's tennis courts, pools, and hot tubs. It was nice to have a pool and hot tub so close to the condo although the hot tub was taken out of service for some reason most of the time we were there. The resort is close to the ocean although we were disappointed that there was no direct access to the shoreline. Overall, a very nice place. less

Owner/Manager Response

Thanks for this review! Unfortunately the resort does not have direct beach access as noted in its description as an Ocean View Resort. The condo itself has a very nice ocean view. Also the resort is located just a 1/3 mile away from one of the best snorkel beaches on the Big Island. It is a walkable distance. We apologize for the inconvenience of the hot tub being serviced during your stay. Unfortunately this was out of our control. The comments about the resort are appreciated but we do trust that our condo met your expectations for quality and experience.

Loved hanging in Hawaii at this lovely condo.

The place was very clean, well maintained, and well supplied with everyday necessities as well as leisure supplies like snorkeling and boogie boarding equipment. The complex has lots of recreational things to do including 2 pools-one quiet pool for adults and one Splash pool for non quiet play. The condo is in a quiet and convenient location by car- just 5 minutes from a small shopping complex that includes a grocery store and about 10 minutes from a beach village and activities. This was the perfect place for our extended family with 4 adults and 2 children ages 10 & 14 to hang out, visit, and explore. We were a little surprised that we were asked to strip the beds and start the laundry considering a $170 cleaning charge is included, but it would not keep us from returning. We appreciate we could opt out of the Ac charge of $20/day as it was not needed whilst we were there in April. Communication with the owner was prompt and helpful. I would highly recommend this condo! less

Owner/Manager Response

We have asked guests to please start a load of laundry and the dishwasher upon leaving. This can be very helpful to our cleaning service when time is short before the next guest check in on the same day. This request is voluntary and has no effect on the security deposit. Apologies to the guest who might have interpreted the request as a requirement for return of the deposit. We are changing the text of the request statement to clarify the reason for the request and that it is voluntary.

This vacation townhome was just absolutely wonderful. So tastefully decorated. The kitchen so adequately stocked to make wonderful meals. So close to the pool and the grounds were lovely. The only downfall was that our vacation was too short! Mahalo for letting us stay there

Great vacation condo

What we liked the most was the location. Walking distance to great snorkeling, shopping, restaurants, and groceries. The quiet pool is right across the front driveway and the tennis court is rigjt off the back. We have teenagers that played basketball and volleyball everyday at the condo. You can rent snorkel gear cheap from the condo grounds by the day or week. Super clean and quiet place. We would definitely stay here again. less

Equipped and comfortable!

From start to end this process and condo was easy. We were three females (one couldn't go) so three bedrooms and three complete bathrooms was important. The condo is well equipped although we only had breakfast there and noted the (clean!)barbecue steps from the front door. A plus was a full sized washer and dryer and laundry detergent provided although I brought my own pods. Parking and garbage facilities were close to the unit. My friend said she would recommend the unit to her son and family with three kids as it would be perfect for families. Boogie boards, life jackets, noodles, etc were in the downstairs bedroom closet along with an ice chest. I would definitely stay again! less

Beautiful Townhome

This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay. I've been going to Kona for the last 20+ years and by far this is the best place I've stayed. It's a a very short drive to downtown Kona. There is a small shopping center within walking distance is you so choose to walk. The owner was great to work with and let us have a late check out. The resort is beautiful and clean and the employees were helpful and friendly. The townhome is well maintained, clean and everything you need is there for you. I most definitely would stay here again. Thank you Fred less

A comfortable, beautiful, and spacious home away from home.

I don't travel that often, but this resort home was one of the nicest places I've stayed without feeling like a fancy hotel. The kitchen had all of the necessary amenities and there was a lot of room around the house for lounging, activities, etc. The individual air conditioning per room was nice, as I like it cooler but my parents don't. My favorite part of the house has got to be the top balcony, where my family and I were able to catch a perfect view of the sunset as the house is so close to the coast. If I were to return to Hawaii, I would love to stay here again without a doubt. less

Nice large condo, great for families, private lanai, nice amenities

Condo was well kept and clean (it should be, the owner charges an extra 170 dollars for extra cleaning if you stay more than 10 days). Bottom floor has nice large stocked kitchen, very large dining table and nice sized living area with TV (cable and internet included). Also there is a smaller bedroom with 2 twins and a nice remodeled bathrooms on the first floor. The lanai is very private and quiet. We ate on the lanai every morning. The top floor has a big master with its own bath (big freshly tiled shower and soaking tub). Very nice. The views of the sunsets were great from upstairs (but not downstairs). There is one other nice sized bedroom with a king bed (nicely redone bathroom in this room as well-yes 3 fresh bathrooms!). The condo was stocked with boogie boards, beach towels, chairs and coolers. There is a pool just behind the condo. The pool surface is a little dated, but freshly painted. There is a small hot tub there as well. The whole complex is very very well taken care of. There are multiple maintenance workers beautifying the grounds, caring for the pools and barbecues and landscape. It was impressive. I would recommend that the owner give more details of where to park as it was confusing when we first arrived. Besides that he was available (or a local contact was available) with any questions and addressed all our needs or concerns. I would definitely stay here again. less

Wonderful Stay at Kona Coast Resort Townhome 7-106

We had a wonderful stay. The townhouse was spacious with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun. My husband and I shared the townhouse with our oldest daughter and son-in-law and their almost two year old. Our younger daughter and her husband stayed in a townhouse almost next door, so we were all able to enjoy each other's company with room for and time to ourselves. Our unit was convenient to the pool area, tennis courts, and swing set, as well as for walking to the near by shopping center. The unit had everything we needed, and the whole rental process was very user friendly. Thanks you for enabling us to have such a special week in Kona. We would not hesitate to stay there again when we return to Kona. less

Always perfect

We have now stayed in this condo four times and look forward to many more. We are three couples and the bed bath arrangement could not be better. We find Bonnie and Fred to be delightful to work with and very understanding when we needed to make changes. The layout of the condo with a big kitchen and large dinning room make it easy for several people to work on the food preparation at one time. We love the lanai the most...plenty of room for eating meals and enjoying the Aloha! The BBQ is just steps from the front door and the quiet pool across the way are the most enjoyable parts of the vacation. Lots of sun and more importantly lots of shade for those who enjoy that. less

Clean and nicely equipped!

My family and I were very happy with this spacious, clean 2-level unit. Lockbox entry was convenient. There were more than enough towels and bedding, and well functioning kitchen / laundry appliances. Each bedroom has split unit AC, and there was just enough cool for the main area if all doors were kept shut. We appreciate how the owners have taken care of this place, and would stay there again! Excellent clean and spacious

We stayed here a while back but didn't have Tripadvisor then just came across an email from owner Fred and decide to write a review. I travel quite a bit and I have to tell you this is one of the best condos I have stayed in, I definitely look for a bargain and this is one the best st places. The one thing I would recommend that they do is advise of the rule of Condo and leave them in a binder cause its a big possibility that people don't read them...meaning to take the sheets off, etc.... Close to downtown, pool area clean and the whole condo area very nice, I had no issues getting the key and finding anything the condo. I traveled with my parent s and son and we would definitely go back. less

The condo is spacious and relaxing

Our overall stay was in the condo unit was wonderful with no complaints to that. We stayed the four days minimum. Everything you need in a place to stay is there all for you. Grocery store and CVS are jus up the hill from you. With that said I had to wait several months before I wrote a review because of how we we treated outside of the condo at the pool and with shuttle service. Let me say we are a local family from big island. We went to the upper level pool mind you its called the "quiet pool" we have a 3 yr old in tow whose a good toddler for her age. Anyhow after arriving and noting other children were there and playing in the pool we went for a swim. Then 10 min later this elderly couple clearly timeshare owners showed up the female lady entered the pool and came up to me and said she referring to our daughter shouldn't be here. I said who said so, she said she belongs at the other pool. I said she is not doing anything wrong then another elderly lady waded into the pool and she said to me dont worry she's not doing anything wrong just stay here. So now comes the security guard showing up on his rounds. He is watching the children in the pool like a hawk by then we felt so uncomfortable and decided to leave the pool. He approached us just to mention that there was another pool below for use. I said first off we were not breaking or compromising any rules. Our daughter was quiet and you saw that so why dont you approach the other parents of children who were making noise and why only approach the local family. Needless to say I was mad. Because of this incident we will not return to stay at Kkrc. Also note we were told we were not able to call for the pool shuttle as our unit is privately owned. It is a little bit of walk for a 3 yr old. We just felt unwelcomed outside of the condo because they treated us like we were tresspassing and not vacationers..locals take vacations too Kkrc, shame on you! Next vacation. We are staying at Na Hale O Keauhou condos. less

Owner/Manager Response

Aloha Kamaaina, We are sorry for the problem with the resort security. The current resort management has been holding to a strict interpretation of the use of the two swimming pools. The main pool is for families. The small pool near the condo is called a ‘quiet pool’, but what they really mean is that only adults are allowed. The name is rather arbitrary when a child is well behaved and quiet. Unfortunately, this rule is being strongly implemented. We will put a note in our guest instructions to explain this. Again we are sorry for the inconvenience. Fred Nuttall (owner, unit 7-106)

perfect location - everything you need!

the absolute perfect setup for a family. 3 br, 3 baths. Gorgeous views, but also very private. Fred was so gracious to provide boogie boards, a cooler, beach chairs, etc. We've stayed at Kona Coast Resort & have always found it to be very family friendly but also very quiet. A true escape from the rat race. The unit is perhaps not glammed up like some we've seen, but extremely nice, clean & everything you need as far as utensils & appliances, amenities & comfort. Beds were very comfie! Excellent value - made it possible for us to go. Added plus that it was right up from the tennis courts - which weren't busy enough to be a bother at all, but made it possible for the kids to be kept busy when we wanted a little break! less

Staying in this condo made a difficult business trip tolerable. It was a peaceful sanctuary to come back to each evening. It's spacious and airy. It had everything we needed and more. Very nice condo and very convenient location

The condo is great: spacious, clean, calm, nice view (we enjoyed the sunset every night), near the BBQ, swimming pool and tennis field...but what amazed me the most was is location: near to a mall with all facilities (restaurant, supermarket, pharmacy, movie theatre) and walking distance (less than 1/2 mile) of one of the best beach on the island (Kahuluu Beach) with amazing snorkeling...to a point that we stop touring the island and enjoy there for our last 3 days... less

Great stay in Keauhou

Our stay at Fred and Bonnie's condo was great. We were working at the Keauhou Shopping Center and the location was not only ideal but convenient. The 3 bedroom 3 bath was prefect for our needs and very comfortable. Because we cooked the gas grills were so convenient right outside of the unit as well as the pool. Because of our line of work in computers we could have enjoyed a little higher speed with the internet. All in all this was a great condo and it had a great feeling of aloha. Lifetime of family memories in Hawaii at Bonnie and Fred's home

The condo was light, clean and spacious. We appreciated all of the thoughtful amenities-extra dishes, bowls, silverware, toaster, blender, wineglasses, chopsticks-felt like home. Fred and Bonnie thought of everything-leisure books, Hawaii guide books, games, cds and dvds, tennis balls, boogie boards, beach toys, beach chairs-the list goes on. We loved special thoughtful touches- the art and artifacts throughout the home, as well as the Hawaiian culture and history books. Memories include relaxing breakfasts and sunsets on the patios. Loved the proximity to the bbq, herb garden and pool. The location of the condo is perfect - 12 mins to Kona, easy access to outstanding local as well as northern and southern beaches. We left our hearts in Hawaii, took with us a lifetime of memories. In our future visits to the Big Island, we would want to stay at Bonnie and Fred's condo. less

Outstanding place and the resort staff we met were really super!

The condo was more than I expected. It was all as advertised and more. Fred and Bonnie have done a very good job of making every thing so easy especially for someone who has never been to the big island before. The directions to the condo were straight forward and it made it so easy to find.the key box was a great set up. The location is great. Granted you do need a car to go everywhere but driving is so easy. The local beaches leave something to be desired. Just a little crowded but a drive north brings you to some good beaches including the state and local parks. There are just too many good places to eat but we found a for tie at Lava-Lava. It is a 35 mile drive but worth the trip. The island has so much to see and do that I thought 15 days would be plenty; not so. The condo is fully equipped with every thing you might need and very tastefully decorated. In a word or to " we loved it". All the best to both Fred and Bonnie. Vance wheeler less

Wonderful family vacation

We went on our first family vacation at Big Island in Feb. I feel lucky enough to find this amazing unit for a family of six. The entire unit is super clean and checkin process is easy. There are two huge bedrooms upstairs with two spacious bathrooms. There is another smaller guest room (big enough to have one twin bed and one single bed) on ground floor. Laundry is in the unit so that we can pack light for our 9-day trip. The owner is super helpful and provided us lots of information beyond our arrival. They also have quite a few guide books in the unit which comes super handy during our stay. There is a community pool right next door. We normally hang out there in early evening. The owner has lots of art decorations and we loved all their wall decorations. After their "inspriation", my mom loves all their arts and wanted to find similar pieced when she is back home. Kona coast is right next to the highway, although this unit is inside, so it's very quite during night. There are a shopping plaza within 10mins walk and you can find all sorts of food and supplies. We had an amazing sunset meal at Sam Choy (with recommendation from Fred!) to celebrate my father and brother's birthday. When we don't feel like eating out, we can simply cook in the house. It's fully equipped kitchen which we prepared some nice and basic meals. My family had a terrific time in Big Island and we will definitely go back again!!! less

Fabulous in every way!

We rented Fred and Bonnie's condo for Spring Break 2013. The unit was exceptionally clean and bright with plenty of space for everyone. We had another family who joined us for dinner on 2 nights and we easily had room for the 10 of us (and enough room in the kitchen for a couple of cooks!) The condo was particularly quiet since there is no one above or below and the adjacent condo shares only a small wall. The beds were extremely comfortable and the master bedroom/bathroom was so spacious with wonderful views of the ocean and sunsets from the lanai! There were books, games, cards, movies and plenty of beach gear (we had beach chairs, towels and umbrella, coolers for food and a large drink cooler, snorkel gear and even a boogie board (we left 2 more there)). There was plenty of storage space in the kitchen with everything you could need for cooking...we actually never went out to eat since it was so comfortable eating at the condo. The laundry area in the kitchen was a huge bonus as well. As for the Kona Coast Resort, the grounds were well kept and the small pool/spa and tennis courts (tennis raquets/balls in the condo) were steps away from the condo but secluded enough to not hear any noise from them. There is a beach volleyball court, playground, shuffleboard and small basketball area in addition to the activity center with the larger pool/spa overlooking the ocean and small but adequate work out room. Although we never used it, they have dining on site as well as an activities desk to help book your tours. Working with Fred during the booking process was so easy. The contract was clear and any questions were always happily answered. There was a local contact if we needed anything (we didn't). Our deposit was quickly returned after our departure. We definitely plan on returning and would recommend 100%!!! less

Christmas week stay at Kona Coast Resort unit 7-106

Our family of five spent Christmas week 2012 in unt 7-106 at the Kona Coast are sort. We had a great stay and we would gladly return. This particular unit is privately owned although it seems the majority of the units in the resort are timeshares. We found the unit 7-106 rental using Trip advisor. The unit owners, Fred and Bonnie, were very good in terms pre-briefing us on the entire process. In the months before our trip we received multiple emails from them covering topics like final charges, cancellation policy, cleaning deposit, directions, checkin, checkout, etc. We encountered no surprises once we arrived in Kona. The unit was great in terms of our needs. Three bedrooms and three baths for a family of five adults. We usually do our own cooking and this place was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed. There's a super market and Longs Drugs within walking distance. The walk to the beach is about one mile. Shore access is even closer. This unit has air conditioning available for an additional charge. We neither used nor needed the a/C. There's a bit of an ocean view from the lanai but if you're looking for unobstructed ocean and sunset views without having to walk to the shore then this is probably not the unit for you. The resort has numerous amenities that are available to the condo guests. These include bbq's, tennis, pools, sauna, rec center, and resort restaurant. We made use of many of these. There were tennis racquets and balls in the condo that we used. There's laundry equipment in the condo which we used. To help expedite access for the next renters, you are asked to strip sheets and start laundry. We were happy to help. Shortly after our return home we received notice that our cleaning deposit had been fully refunded. Again, no surprises. In summary, great stay and highly recommended. If we don't return to this unit again it would only be because we will not always need a three bedroom unit. less

Fantastic

The information on getting access to the condo was all explained in the correspondence prior to arriving. No hidden charges, everything was up front and spelled out. The condo was very spacious for a 3 bedroom 3 bath residence. We did not feel crowded plus it was very quiet at night. It is only connected to another unit on one side. Kona Coast Resort is in a great location. Stores are within walking distance. You can rent on site all your gear for snorkeling, boogie boarding, beach chairs, etc.. You can arrange all off resort activities also on site. We had a great time and would rent this condo again. A great place for a very reasonable price. less

Booking was easy and Fred always answered my questions. The condo is beautiful and spacious (we had 7 adults). The "newlywed" couple had the gorgeous master bedroom. The kitchen served all our needs and the grill was practically right outside the door. Knowing we had a washer and dryer so available allowed us to pack a lot lighter. We found table games, books, tennis and pool equipment, movies, music and more at our disposal. Some were at the pool every night til it closed. We found great snorkel activities, restaurants, shopping, groceries, a church and a luau only minutes away. It would have cost so much more for us to come if we had to get hotels or multiple resort rooms...we couldn't have asked for a better accomodation! less

Just what we needed

This unit is just what we needed for our family group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and plenty of other room. Master bath has a huge jetted tub and a shower. Great kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots and pans etc. The kitchen also has small appliances including an electric mixer which we used to make a birthday cake for one of the kids. The view of the sunset from this unit's 2 lanais is very good. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the evening to watch the sunset and relax after hitting the beach during the day. The resort is close to a great beach for snorkeling and turtle watching. There is a tub of beach toys on the lanai and plenty of beach towels to take with you to the beach. The unit has a very new washer and dryer which work well which is an added convenience. The kitchen light burned out while we were there. We called the service number provided by the owner and someone came and replaced the light bulb almost immediately. Best condo ever

We have been to Hawaii several times and this was by far the nicest place we have ever stayed. The price was incredible for the condo! Clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. We loved that it was stocked with everything we needed for our stay- guide books, beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards, snorkels, etc. The pool at the complex was also very nice. It is not walking distance to downtown Kailua-Kona, so you would want to have a rental car. We wanted to go to white sand beaches with our small children, so drove about an hour each day to the Kohala coast. But we are still happy that we stayed where we did- we thought it was a much more authentic Hawaiian experience than staying in a self-contained mega-resort (and more affordable). We enjoyed snorkeling, going to the Place of Refuge, and dining out in Kona. We would return to the Big Island just to stay at this incredible condo again! less

Not far to drive into Kona. Outdoor bbq was very handy. The a/C system controls took a little getting used to :) but we got it!! The a/C in the twin bed room needed servicing while we were there. The condo is very well equipped, you can find everything you need for a family there: lovely big kitchen, pool-playthings, washer and dryer etc. The condo is light and spacious, and though they have added lots of personal touches, it felt like ours within minutes (our son started laying out the table within the first 15 minutes because he found it so cosy...). The resort was very quiet when we were there, so that meant enough space in the pool. We recommend prebooking the airco in summer, we were glad we did! Communication about booking/checking in was very good: mails with deatils about pay, checking in, and questions were quick and clear. For us it was the holiday of a lifetime! less

It was perfect!

This condo was great! The accomendations were plesently better than expected. We stayed 6 nights and then were going to Hilo for the last 3 nights. That other place was so bad that we contacted 7-106 and asked if we could come back for our last 2 nights and they accommendated us. What great service! We mentioned a couple things that needed attention when we left and they were already fixed when we returned. We couldn't have been more pleased. The pool is conveinently located right across the parking lot. The condo listing does give the impression a garage is available for use but isn't. Be sure to opt for the a/C because hi is humid and warm. Each room has its own a/C with its own controls which is awesome! The patio and dining set is different and better than pictured. I hope we get the opportunity to come back! less

What a wonderful stay!

This condo is wonderful. It is beautifully decorated, scrupulously clean, and well appointed. Everything we needed was there, except food - which is only a few blocks away. The Roku box is a nice touch - the kids could stream Netflix all they wanted. There are more than enough towels, sheets, extra pillows, etc. There are even kid beach toys, snorkels, etc. We will definitely stay at this unit again in the future. less

The Best Vacation Ever!

The Freshler family of four and the Wingfield family of three had the best vacation ever! Imagine two family in a condo? Believe it or not we have all kind of room. Each of us has privacy and had a very relaxing and awesome experience. Our kids age are 14, 12 and 7, and boy they have a great time. It is centrally located. Easy access to airport, groceries, stores and of course to the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked and so is the kids fun needs. The condo is super clean and staff are friendly and the price is right!!! less

Great value for a group

With 3 bedrooms (+ sofabed), kitchen, laundry, pool toys, and local interest books, this is definitely a better value than 3 hotel rooms. The condo is across the street from a pool, near the most popular snorkel beach, and not in the frenzy of downtown Kailua-Kona. The partial ocean view included the setting sun framed by palm fronds. It is well-situated for exploring the Kona coffee farms or bypassing downtown to get souvenirs & gas at Costco. The owners were very helpful and are justly proud of the art on their walls. We usually ate breakfast in including Kona coffee and farmers'-market fruit. (Mangoes have more flesh than on the mainland, and tiny apple bananas are a delicious 3-bite snack.) If we didn't want to go to a restaurant, we could get take-out from L&L; Hawaiian fastfood in the shopping center across the highway. (Also has supermarket, drugstore, & cinema.) The price does no include A/C, but the local manager can provide access if needed. less

Owner/Manager Response

We thank Jim W for those very kind comments. We would add to his comment a small correction in that the A/C charge is currently $15/day and that the A/C can be turned on at anytime during a stay by contacting our local manager. Fred & Bonnie. Owners, Kona Coast Resort 7-106

Awesome!!!

We had a great time! The condo is very spacious and had everything we needed! It is very nicely decorated and very clean. The appliances worked very well so you had the comforts of home. It is in a great location- pool is near along with the tennis courts., and the grocery store just up the hill KTa, along with some other nice shops. And very quite at night when were getting the kids to bed. The nice thing about this condo is we felt very comfortable and will definately be back soon!!! less

Outstanding!

We just returned from week's stay in this wonderful condo and wished we didn't have to have to leave. My husband and I stayed took our Moms, one who had been to Oahu before and the other had never been to Hawaii. The condo is beautifully decorated/furnished and maintained, and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need for an island stay. We appreciated the ice chests, beach equipment (towels, boogie boards, umbrellas, etc.), books, herbs/spices and ktichen equipment. The complex is very quiet and well maintained. The quiet pool and a hot tub is just stone's throw away. My husband and I enjoy snorkeling and visited Kahalu'u Beach Park, which is less than 5 minutes away, several times. It's a great snorkeling spot! A grocery store, Longs and restaurants are close by in the Keauhou Shopping Center. We enjoyed a great meal at Kenichi Pacific (sushi & Japanese fusion cuisine) there. Overall, our favorite thing about the condo was the privacy and quiet feel. I honestly can't think of a single negative thing about it. If you choose this condo you will not be dissapointed!! We will definately stay there again the next time we visit the Big Island. (We are planning a visit to Maui next year for our 20th anniversary and wish Fred & Bonnie had a condo there as well!!) less

We enjoyed this fabulous "home away from home"

This condo has everything one would want in a vacation home. It is beautifully decorated and in a great location within the resort. The pool, tennis courts and BBQ are a stones throw away. We took great pictures of the magnificent Hawaiian sunsets from the upstairs lanai. Three fresh fish meals were prepared (mahi mahi and ono we caught deep sea fishing) in their well stocked kitchen. We ate breakfast every morning on the lovely lanai and relaxed here many evenings. We would definitely recommend this fabulous condo to our friends and family. less

excellent well stocked condo

we were delighted with the condo - linens were adequate in quality and amount - kitchen was well stocked with above average utensils - beach equipment was very good with umbrellas, bogey board, snorkeling equipment - quiet pool was very close - the only negative had to do with the personnel at the large pool and bar - they were not friendly and service was less than adequate - we only went there one time due to this less

Long Weekend Retreat

Had a spur of the moment chance to get away and meet up with family in Kona. Condo was very nice, quiet, well located for access to the rest of the island. Weather was great and we visited the volcano. Had some good meals at various restruants in the area and some wonderful homecooked meals as well. Would love to have a chance to visit and stay there again. . less

Great Spot

Had a great stay here. The condo was very clean & well appointed. Close to shopping & dining, quiet, all around perfect place to settle down for a week or so. Easy to reserve through Aloha Condos, simple check-in, etc. I will DEFINITELY try to stay here again during future visits to Kona. Highly recommend this condo. less

A True Aloha Experience

Four of our family members stayed in Fred & Bonnie's beautiful condo for 9 days in early March 2010. It made our trip truly delightful. The rental process and securing our key was a snap. The condo is spacious, convenient, very well stocked, comfortable and what we all considered having the "true Aloha" feeling. We spent as much time on the large lanai as in the house...coffee & tea in the morning, reading, relaxing & listening to music and cocktails in the evening. The artwork and decorations added an authentic spirit of old and new Hawaii. Having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was an added luxury we all enjoyed and the rental rate was the best bargain I have experienced in many, many years! As you may be gathering, there was nothing left wanting in any way...we even had partial views of the ocean; what more could anyone ask for. Thank you Fred and Bonnie for making our long awaited trip an absolute joy! less

This condo is hands-down the nicest place we have ever stayed

This huge, beautiful, spacious condominium was truly one of the main highlights of our trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. We have been to Kauai and Maui before, and many other places in Australia, Europe, Canada, and the U.S., but this was the nicest place the four of us have stayed, particularly as we prefer to make most of our own meals, and also like the privacy of a condo rental as compared to a hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable; the kitchen and the rest of the condo have about every amenity one can imagine; it is very clean; the bathrooms are large and beautifully updated; it is tastefully decorated with local artwork displayed throughout; and there is a large porch or lanai (where we would take breakfast at dawn), that has a great view of the ocean and the perfectly maintained gardens at the Kona Coast Resort. The facility is close to, but not inside, the city of Kailua-Kona, and has nearby shopping available. This location also provides an excellent base for visiting the many attractions and activities up and down the western coast of the Big Island. (Where there always seems to be a sunny spot to find, if you look for it. We like to visit beaches and take 2-4 hour hikes.) I don't think we could have asked for a nicer location or facility. You can't go wrong here. In addition, the local representative was very helpful with our getting situated upon our arrival. Both he and the owners were also very helpful, understanding and considerate on the morning of our checkout, when we were jolted out of bed at 5 or 6 AM by tsunami warning sirens, following the earthquake in Chile the day before. They offered the possibility for us to stay over if need be, should the tsunami create a disaster, or make it impossible to take our flight later that day. While we waited and watched with thousands of others for 'the big wave', in the end it never materialized, and we went on our way as planned. Nevertheless, we greatly appreciated this act of thoughtfulness. less

This condo is so nice that it doesn't feel like a rental - it fe

This condo has everything you could possibly need or want on a vacation. If you like to have the option to stay in and cook, the kitchen has every essential you can think of and then some (there is also a grill right outside). All the conveniences of home with a Hawaiian twist. There is a GORGEOUS lanai (outdoor patio) with a table for sharing meals and conversation - complete with tiki lights for the ultimate Hawaiian feel. There is a full grocery store within minutes and at least two local markets right nearby as well where you can get fresh fruits, vegetables etc. If you like to go out, there are plenty of restaurants close by and the owners even have a book of restaurant recommendations and descriptions (along with things to do, etc). The condo is centrally located in Kona yet the grounds are lush, peaceful and tropical. It's situated on a golf course on the water with impeccable grounds. There are several swiming pools and they are never crowded. Perfect for families or couples looking for peace and quiet since there are several options to pick from on the property. I can't think of a single negative thing about our stay except it wasn't nearly long enough! I would higly recommend this condo. It's gorgeous, it's clean, it's comfortable. It's the perfect Hawaiian get-a-way. less

It was a beautiful experience.

The setting and location were wonderful. The condo had everything we could possibly need for cooking, going to the beach, playing tennis, making fresh squeezed juice, blending fruit drinks, grilling on the grill, playing games, books for reading, etc. Another couple went with us and enjoyed it as well as we did. It was very spacious and comfortable, as well as the beds being comfortable. We liked everything about it. There was nothing we didn't like. We would definitely stay there again. less

Excellent.

The villa corresponded to the description very well. Clean, spacious, thoughtfully arranged ie. books, music discs, games, tourist info included, beach material, welcome basket - very nice touches. Should be added to your description as part of the package. Would add a map with details to the closest shopping mall and their working hours. We came at 11 pm after a 15 hour flight and wasted 2 hrs in the dark looking to buy milk and cereal for the kids for breakfast in the morning. For a fee may be you could do some basic shopping for late arrivals as we were? The entire resort was very quiet and very well organized. Will recommend without hesitation. less

All the comforts of Home

Staying in this condo made us feel like we were in our own home. The condo is beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The furnishings are elegant yet comfortable. We were able to cook meals there every day, since the kitchen was well appointed, having everything we needed. The grocery store is conveniently located nearby. We stayed with two other couples, so each couple had their own bedroom and private bath. We started each day with a pleasant breakfast on the lanai. We appreciated the beach "toys" and supplies that were furnished and we enjoyed our days snorkeling at the nearby beach. Almost daily were were in the swimming pool which was right next door and enjoyed the privacy since very few people used the pool and hot tub there. The setting is very quiet and private. We look forward to joining our friends there again.....we highly recommend this condo as your home away from home in Hawaii. less

Picturesque restful location

While there is additional sleeping arrangements that would be adequate for children, the three full bedrooms with adjoining baths perfectly accommodated the three adult couples sharing the unit. Although the resort does not have it's own beach, a very short walk away there is an incredible lagoon perfect for sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling and the pool directly across the drive from the condo became a regular evening retreat. The little touches of artwork and outstanding added amenities beyond the norm provided by the owners made wine & cheese on the lanai following our dips in the pool into delightful evening events. Unobstructed views of breathtaking sunsets and active blow holes are another short walk from the condo. The resort is beyond a comfortable walking distance from Kona, so a car is useful if one wishes to utilize the shops and restaurants. The owners left directions to a number of their favorite places on the island - which turned into some of our favorites as well. less

Best we've ever seen!

Thanks you for the privilege of living in your condo! We had a fantastic time. Everything was in perfect shape when we arrived and the area around the condo was wonderful - relaxed, well-maintained perfect for evening strolls. The whole atmosphere of the condo itself made it feel more like coming home than coming to a rental -- except better. Good taste! You have obviously put a lot of thought to making your guests comfortable and our stay rewarding. As others have mentioned, your very personal "guide books" to the island were a big help in finding things we might otherwise have missed. We also loved having both a snorkeling beach and a good supermarket in easy walking distance (but not so close as to cause us any traffic). less

My stay at Kona Coast Resort Condo 7-106 was Awesome

The service was great. The Condo had everything one could possibly need. There was a leek under the kitchen sink, but it was taken care of immediately. I like the fact that there was plenty of space (very roomy)The decor was nice and the Condo was clean. The location was great; close to shopping and entertainment. I would love to stay in Condo 7-106 again on my next trip to the Big Island. Mahalo! less

Owner/Manager Response

Bonnie and I are concerned that cleanliness got a lower rating, although it is mentioned by the guest that the unit was clean. If there is one thing we pride ourselves on, it is the quality of the cleaning service that we have retained. Perhaps this was a lapse so we have forwarded the rating comment to the cleaning staff. We note that all prior reviews give 5 stars to cleanliness. We are also pleased that the leak was quickly repaired. Breakdowns happen in any home and we are lucky to have a wonderful on-site manager to take care of problems. Bonnie and I agree with the Alberda family that (whenever we visit this Hawaii home of ours) we think, wow this place is awesome. A refuge of quiet tropical comfort. Wonderful stay

Our two small families of three (parents and 2 college-aged daughters) were very comfortable in this 3 bedrm/3bth condo. Every morning, we enjoyed the comfortable covered patio for coffee and breakfast, listening to the birds and ocean. In the evenings, we would end up in those same comfortable patio chairs again, discussing our day. Very quiet resort. Seldom heard the neighbors. We would definitely stay here again. Reservation and arrival process: Very easy and efficient. They acknowledged the deposit and subsequent payment with plenty of detail in the statement. Prompt reply to our email asking questions. They provided excellent directions from the airport. Not hard to find and check-in was a breeze. The condo: Very clean, well-maintained, fresh, and modern. Lots of windows and light. Beautiful art and nice furniture. Ceiling fans in all rooms. It is a fully equipped home--linens, towels, kitchen appliances, dishes & utensils, washer/dryer, tv, stereo, CDs, books, games, and beach toys. Truly, all you need to bring is your clothes and food! (There is a supermarket and drug store less than 5 minute away.) It took only a moment to figure out the a/c controls in each living area. There is a community gas grill just a few steps away. Resort: The girls enjoyed the pools. We did not use other facilities, but the golf course looked great and we heard good things about the restaurant. Location: On the west side of the island, so it is a bit of a drive southeastward to the volcano national park, or northward to a bay we wanted to visit for swimming. The condo is just a 10 minutes to a cluster of other resort hotels, some of which offer luaus. Negatives: Hard to find any negative. Condo parking was a tad awkward, but near the front door. A disabled person could use the first floor bdrm/bath & kitchen, but would have difficulty with split level first floor to the patio & living rm, and of course, stairs to second floor. The area roads are good, but traffic stacks up. less

Very nice, would definately recommend. I really enjoyed the homemade folder of places to see and things to do, it helped tremendously. Appreciated the Extras

We stayed at Fred and Bonnie's condo in Kona. It was very nice. The condo was updated and very clean. The extras (kitchen equipment and supplies, snorkeling equipment, towels, etc.) were great. We had one minor problem with an air conditioning unit. I called on the way out for the day and it was repaired by the time we returned in the afternoon. We also had a unit from Shell Vacations in the same building and I'd go for Fred and Bonnie's every time. I'd definitely recommend staying there. less

Great condo and impressive hospitality

This condo is great and the owner (Bonnie and Fred) is very helpful. I wrote a note to the guest book at the condo as follows: Aug 23, 2008 Dear Bonnie and Fred We had a great time at your wonderful condo. A lot of extras were very helpful for us. This is our second time staying at Kona Coast Resort. Your condo is much better than the condo where we stayed last time. We want to stay at your condo when we come to the Big Island next time. My daughters were very happy to swim in the beautiful sea with many fishes and to see turtles at Kahalu'u Beach Park. One more thing. I was very impressed by your hospitality. Every time I asked a question by email you answered it very quickly and your reply was always sincere and helpful. Thank you for your friendly support. less

It doesn't get any better than this!

Fred and Bonnie's Condo was the most FABULOUS place anyone could stay in! 3 beautiful bedrooms, 3 baths that have just been remodeled. Wonderful kitchen, living room, dining. Just EVERYTHING about it was great. I have stayed on this property before, but , by far 7106 Fred and Bonnie's has been the BEST. Fully equipped with everything. The property is wonderful, great pools, jacuzzi's tennis, you name it they have it. Plus it is only 10 minutes from downtown. You can drive the whole island in a day. You are down the street from a main shopping center.............the list goes on and on. Do yourselves all a favor , book Bonnie and Steve's condo 7106, in fact play the number in the lotto! It's a GOOD number :-) I can't wait to get back! less
