Kanaloa unit 2904

This is at least the 5th time we have spent the month of April at unit 2904. This unit is always clean and fresh. There is a beautiful hospitality gift of native fruits, nuts and candy. The unit overlooks the water and the waves crashing on the lava is mesmerizing. Breakfast on the lanai as the sky is lightening, the kayakers and outriggers, and fishing boats heading out of Keahou Bay is the best part of the day. Truly the image of Hawaii. Doesn’t get any better than this!!! less

Perfect for a couple

This is a great unit for a couple.

Perfect stay

We stayed 20 days at Jim’s condo 2904 and immediately fell in love with it. The condo is very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the gorgeous ocean view from the lanai and watching the beautiful sunsets every evening. We had fun being able to watch the surfers, seeing the night divers swim with the manta rays across Keauhou Bay, and we even spotted a few Humpback whales off in the distance! We had our choice of using 3 different beautiful pools, each very close, and almost always had the pool all to ourselves. The grounds of the condo are beautifully landscaped and very well maintained. The staff members we spoke to were all very welcoming, friendly, helpful, and represent the Aloha spirit that us visitors from the mainland adore about Hawaii. Before I even arrived, Jim addressed one of my concerns about the internet reliability and being able to conduct my work remotely as a software engineer. The new modem and WiFi router Jim had arranged prior to my arrival was very much appreciated! Everything worked out flawlessly. On our last day I asked my fiancé if there was any one thing we could have changed, wanted differently, or an amenity we wished we had. We both drew a blank at first and then recalled the one time we couldn’t find a can opener. I blame myself for that one, because really, who eats food from can when visiting Hawaii? All in all it was the PERFECT STAY for us, and we’d come stay again in a heartbeat! less

Lovely stay

This was our first trip to the Big Island, and we were so happy to have stayed at Konaloa! Our condo was very attractive, roomy and comfortable, and the view was gorgeous. We even saw whales! We hope to be back someday, and would definitely stay here again. less

Nice Place to Stay

Very nice placement and view in the resort. The views and ocean breezes were very nice! Nice updated baths and kitchen. The negatives were the exterminator showing up 10 minutes after we arrived . . . second day there were dead roaches on the floor; termites were busy in the bedroom wall. Guess you should expect that in Hawaii! Recommend the mattress be replaced because it is very hard / uncomfortable. Overall we would stay there again because of the space and location. less

Owner/Manager Response

Dear Rebecca, Thank you for your kind comments about our unit at Kanaloa. The views, sea breezes, and newly remodeled bathrooms and kitchen have been highlighted by all of our guests. As you noted, insects can be an issue in the Islands, which is why we make every effort to quickly act, when they do show up. Your comment about the mattress is the first that we’ve gotten, and we will look into it. We hope to see you again next year. Jim Lisy, Owner 2904 Kanaloa

Ocean View Condo

Fantastic stay----great ocean views. Condo recently been re-modeled and it's very pleasant.

Stay at 2904

Everything was excellent. Very clean, organized, tastefully arranged, great view. Would stay again.

— Jeffrey, Stayed 01/13/2020

Outstanding view of the OCEAN

We felt so fortune to find this gem of a condo with a fabulous view of the ocean. The condo was clean and comfortable with 2 bathrooms. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen. The induction oven tricked me for a bit. BBQ available just outside door and free parking. We walked to Dinner from the condo. We will return. less

Authentic Hawaii Experience

Our stay at Kanaloa was absolutely flawless. The condo was clean, fresh, quiet and equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect as a base for travel around the island and offers quick access to excellent snorkeling, hiking, historical touring, coffee & macadamia plantations and a plaza with a pharmacy, groceries and great places to eat. Many ocean adventures also launch from the bay next to the complex. It was our best Hawaiian vacation yet and we will surely be back! less

Home Away from Home

This condo exceeded our expectations. We have traveled to Maui and the Big Island once or twice a year for 25 years and this condo was the most thoughtfully equipped unit that we have ever encountered. The owners and their 'contact' manager have made an attention to detail and the comfort of their guests a priority. We arrived toward the end of the 'low season' so the grounds were quiet and the unit very affordable. The owner provided plenty of fans for comfort on warmer days. The unit is perfectly placed for a stunning view of the ocean and we will absolutely be booking 2904 again on our next trip. less

— Jessie, Stayed 11/04/2019

Awesome condo

We stayed at this Condo for 5 nights during the Ironman Championships. We have stayed in this building many times but this was our first time in this condo. The views were amazing and the condo has recently been renovated. Amazing space, well appointed and very comfortable. We will be coming back later this year. less

— Thomas, Stayed 10/21/2019

Condo location perfection

Staying at the Kanaloa at Kona condos is always a relaxing time. This condo was located in a place that allowed a view of the ocean, and the Keauhou Bay. Watched the boats and canoes go out of the bay, and saw the Manta Dive boats at night. The kitchen and bathrooms were newly remodeled and turned out nice. The bed was very comfortable, It is arranged for 2 people comfortably, maybe a third on the pull out couch. The lanai is where you will hang out the most, and, thankfully there are pull down screens to block the sun when its hot in the afternoon. This unit does not see the sunsets, but just walk to the ocean pool and you can capture a beautiful picture. My only suggestion is that it would be great to have air conditioning as an option, being there in August made it a bit hot in the unit to cook meals. I think we will consider this condo for future visits. Aloha and Mahalo! less

Owner/Manager Response

Aloha John and Denise, We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at 2904 Kanaloa, and the remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. The ocean front lanai is a real focal point, a great place for morning coffee and in the evening. During the late fall, winter and early spring, the sunsets are directly seen from the lanai. We often use the gas grill just a few steps from the unit during the summer months, when the “Kona winds” occasionally take over from the trade winds. The ceiling fans throughout the unit as well as the sea breeze keep things more comfortable in the evening. We hope to see you again next year. Aloha and mahalo, Jim Lisy 2904 Kanaloa

April in 2904

This is our 4th stay and longest stay at Unit 2904. The condo is in an ideal location overlooking the ocean and away from the pools. It is so relaxing. Tom, our local contact. For this condo was extremely responsive to helping us get our WiFi and cable working. He came over and was very personable and welcoming. We were delighted to hear that the condo is going to have some renovation work done in the bathroom and kitchen. This will bring it up to 5 stars. The kitchen has everything needed to step in and start cooking. There was a new full size washer and dryer which makes staying for an extended visit so much easier. The sunsets are spectacular. Watching the outriggers leave in the am from the lanai is a great way to start the day. We live as far away diagonally and still be in the USA, and it is worth all the time and money to come to Hawaii and Unit 2904. Mahalo, Jeanne less

— Jeanne, Stayed 05/05/2019

Beautiful Kona

Kanaloa at Kona is beautiful, right on the Pacific. Listened to waves all night and birds in the AM. Three lovely pools and hot tubs. Landscape was immaculate and nicely kept up. This was our second stay at Kanaloa at Kona, love it.

— Joyce, Stayed 03/23/2019

Wonderful time in Kanaloa

We had a wonderful time staying at your condo. The view was stunning and the weather was great. This is probably one of the nicest condos we have ever stayed in. It was well stocked and was so clean. It was close to restaurants, a mall and grocery store. less

Another great stay

My husband and I have enjoyed stays in this unit on several occasions over the years. Always a special time!

— Eileen, Stayed 02/09/2019

Great location; dated condo

The condo is located in a wonderful location in this older, well-kept complex. The ocean view was outstanding, the barbeque is just across the parking lot, and parking is convenient. We enjoyed watching the boats coming in and out of Keauhou Bay and the evening sunset. The condo is comfortably large for two people. Many components of the condo has not been updated since built, however, and some of the features are troublesome. The bathrooms are exceedingly small, certainly too small for two people to use comfortably. The bathtub in the master is challenging; fixtures are corroded by sea salt air rendering the jetted tub potentially useless, and the step over to use the shower is high. The countertops in kitchen and baths are ceramic tile, chipped in some places, and with less than perfectly clean grout. The furnishing were adequate although dated. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, the washer and dryer full size, and the ice maker in the refrigerator good. No air conditioning can be an issue on hot days when the trades are not blowing, although we only experienced this problem on the last two days of our stay. All in all, I would stay in this condo again for the location. Perhaps the owner will update the fixtures in the near future! less

— Deborah, Stayed 12/29/2018

Million-dollar view

For a blissful month we were treated daily to a magnificent view of crystal-clear skies, sparkling waters, crashing waves, and breath-taking sunsets, all from the comfort of our lanai. This unit has a perfect view not only of the ocean itself but also of the boats and paddlers emerging from Keahou Bay. An extraordinary treat was watching competitors in the World Ultra Ironman race completing their 6-mile swim from Kailua Bay to the finish in Keahou Bay. The unit is nicely furnished, the kitchen well-equipped, and there were extras like beach towels, coolers, snorkel gear, and boogie boards. OK, the bathrooms could use an update, but who cares when everything else is so perfect? The place was literally spotless and exceptionally well-managed. When the coffee=maker died, we made a call to the local contact and voila! a new one was delivered within hours. Kanaloa is a wonderful development with many amenities, shopping and restaurants are just up the hill, and some of the island's best snorkeling is only five minutes away. We would rent this unit again in a heartbeat. less

— Laura, Stayed 12/18/2018

Great Condo!

This is our second visit to Condo 2904 and our 5th visit to Kanaloa at Kona. We decided to return to this particular condo because the ocean view is beautiful and serene. Another added benefit is the condo has beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, tennis rackets, snorkeling equipment and a cooler. It is really great to have these available especially when traveling a distance. The kitchen is well stocked and ocean breezes/fans keep the unit cool. The bathrooms could benefit from a little updating but the unit is very clean and fresh! We highly recommend it! less

— elizabeth, Stayed 06/25/2018

Peaceful & relaxing!

Everything we needed for a relaxing mini vacay was provided at this condo! The lack of A/C was no deterrent- the ocean breeze was more than enough and we barely used the ceiling fans. Definitely would stay here again! Mahalo nui loa. A hui hou....

— Ella, Stayed 06/02/2018

Home Away From Home

This was our third time staying in this unit. It overlooks the ocean and you can see the outriggers going and coming. Also a great view of the boats providing swimming with the manta rays at night. Very peaceful. The accommodations are lovely, and the appliances are up-to-date. Only suggestion for improvement is some veneer fixing on cabinets in bathroom, and new screen door to the lanai. We love this place and feel right at home here. We have all ready booked it for April 2019 for our Hawaii get away from mud season in Maine. less

— Jeanne, Stayed 04/25/2018

Gorgeous views & everything you need

This condo was perfect for our stay. The views from the back balcony were beautiful. We did lots of snorkeling and did not bring our own equipment. It was great to have the equipment available for our use. They also had tennis racquets, beach towels and beach chairs. I did not find not having air conditioning a problem as there is always a nice breeze and there is a fan above the master bed and floor fans in the unit as well. I forgot some items when I departed and they located and sent them to me which was great! Communication was plenty and all information for the stay was right in the unit. I would definitely return to this condo for another visit. The location was perfect and the golf coarse was fun to play! less

— Heather , Stayed 04/05/2018

Wonderful location

Kanaloa is a very peaceful place , we loved to stay there. The Resort is well maintained. The view on the ocean from the lanai is awsom. We even saw dolphins from there. The condo is well equipped. You have everything you need, still the owner is in the process of doing a major renovation. Tom, the manager is very helpful. Hope to come back again. less

— Reto, Stayed 03/11/2018

Great Location

Bright, spacious, airy and quiet with a fantastic view in a great location in Keauhou. The condo is well stocked with cooking supplies, chairs, towels, boogie boards, cooler for the beach, and the bed was really comfortable. This is an older complex but we felt the condo was very good value in a location that can't be beat. less

— Diane, Stayed 03/04/2018

Lovely & Relaxing

This condo is super quiet and right on the ocean, and a very relaxing place to unwind! You wake up to the birds singing and waves rolling along the coast. The Kanaloa complex is off Alli Drive and in its own separate area and so peaceful. Yet, you can also walk to the grocery store and restaurants, which is ideal!!! Also, the owner/manager was very attentive, replacing a blender right away! Thank you! The only reason there isn't five stars in this review (and I want to give it five) is that the condo needs minor updating, simple things like painting the walls, would give it a more immediately comfortable and welcoming feel. That said, the bed was super comfortable, the place was very clean, and the view was fantastic! Perfect place to watch the sunset with a Mai Tai. less

— Deanna, Stayed 01/12/2018

Avery nice place

The condo ia very big and very well located. You can see the ocean/surf from the lanai. This is the best equipped condo I have ever stayed in and we have been coming to the islands for 15 years at least once a year. There are two full bathromms which is also a plus. It is close to a small shopping center with a KTA Market which has very reasonable prices so you can "eat in" for some of your meals. Other than the awful traffic through Kailua/Kona an excellent two week trip. Yhank You. less

— Michael, Stayed 12/24/2017

Good value waterfront, basic unit

Kanaloa at Kona is a great place for families. Good pools, tennis courts, and a lovely waterfront setting. Condo 2904 is a one bedroom non A/C unit on the second floor of a six unit building. It has a nice direct waterfront view. When sitting on the deck you can see a bit south to Keahou bay. Nice sunset views. The kitchen is very well equipped (thank you!) and the unit has a full size washer/dryer — great to have. The king bed was comfortable, the linens just ok. We did not use the sofa bed in the livingroom. Also never used the deck off the bedroom as it overlooks a parking area. During our time in the unit there was a family with small children staying above us. They were extremely noisy with lots of running/feet sounds even late at night. Not conducive to a laid-back stay. We would have preferred the large flatscreen TV in the bedroom to have been switched with the small flatscreen TV in the living area. Good wireless! This unit has not been updated. The furnishings and fixtures are basic. But it’s a good value for the price. less

Great Stay!

We spent 4 nights at Condo 2904 and had a great stay! The location is perfect and the view is amazing. We found the property to be very quiet and nice to have the choice between 3 swimming pools and a tennis court. We found a beautiful fruit basket waiting for us as we walked in the unit; this was a very nice gesture. The condo is well appointed, some bits are a bit tired but we didn't mind. Plenty of space and everything we needed was there. We would definitely go back and recommend this condo to anyone wanting to enjoy a nice & relaxing holiday!! less

Perfect Kona getaway

We loved our visit at Condo 2904. The complex was peaceful and had a mellow vibe. I liked that it didn't feel super commercial or "mega resort" like some of the other properties can be. The unit had everything we needed for our stay. I especially appreciated the washer and dryer and also the snorkel equipment. The decor is very pretty, and the furnishings are very comfortable. All the communication about check in and policies was clear. The price was very reasonable and I'll return again if I'm ever heading back to Kona. less

Another wonderful stay

My husband and I have just completed our 4th (or maybe 5th) stay at Kanaloa at Kona, Unit 2904. Once again we enjoyed the wonderful oceanview and carefully tended gardens and surroundings.

— Eileen, Stayed 12/09/2016

Awesome!

We recently spent two weeks at Kanaloa at Kona, No. 2904. This was our "second" stay at 2904 and we will "be back". The condo is everything you would ask for -- beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, well stocked with things needs for beach time, etc., and most of all "the view" of the ocean is great. You can watch the Hula Kai night manta dive each evening. I can't wait to return. I am hooked on the Big Island and cannot stay away. I want to mention one other item -- my daughter dropped some money out of her suitcase. The housekeeper found the money and returned it by mail with a note. Tears came quickly as I realized the integrity of this individual. I love the people of the Big Island as they do "live aloha". I cannot wait to return. Patricia less

Condo 2904

My husband and I loved room 2904, the view, pools, beautiful grounds. We didn't even want to leave. Breakfast on the lanai, sunsets at the ocean pool. It was everything and more that we could hope for. The little rock beach next door had beautiful snorkeling. We swam with the Dolphins 2 days in a row and it was magical. Thankyou for your wonderful condo! We loved it! less

Relax and enjoyed

Wonderful stay in unit 2904. Quiet, clean complex with friendly people. Condo had everything you will need for preparing meals to packing for a day at the beach. A variety of beach items and nice heavy beach towels. Condo close to Kahalu'u and Magic Sands. Shopping and farmers market right up street. Found short cut at Keauhou Bay to Sheraton. Nice stroll. Will recommend to family and friends. Oh, did I mention the view from balcony? less

Loved it.

The condo was clean and attractive. Everything we needed was there, including blow dryers and ironing boards. Needed all those things for the wedding! I would stay here again. Kids had a wonderful time in the pools and we were near shopping and restaurants if we didn't want to cook. Also booked a tour around the island at the office. My 88 year old mother loved it. less

Loved it!

Originally we were going to stay at a resort, but then decided on a condo rental. Sure glad we found Kanaloa at Kona #2904! This condo had a beautiful view of the ocean, it was quiet and relaxing. We loved that it had 3 pools, one which was for adults only. It was located close to shopping areas. Everyone was friendly. The only thing i noticed was the master bath, the tub/shower was pretty deep to step into for a short person, but not a huge deal. We would definitely recommend #2904! less

— Holly, Stayed 03/13/2016

we liked it

Nice place with good view on the ocean, pretty much like most condos; bed-bath-kitchen, we were happy.

— Tom , Stayed 12/11/2015

Oceanside

This condo has a wonderful view of the ocean. It is spacious and well equipped. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms are worn but okay. The bed is very comfortable and a breeze keeps the unit cool if you have the patio doors open and fans on. It was clean except for the floor which needs a good scrub. We also had a mouse on our arrival which the management responded to quickly. The complex has wonderful newly surfaced tennis courts and great pools. The location is good for nearby snorkelling spots too. less

— John, Stayed 11/23/2015

Diamond in the rough

The good: Nice view to the ocean, quite resort, good internet service. Excellent concierge service The bad: the little bathroom is disgusting. Shameful really. Washing machine needs to be replaced cause it makes an insanely loud noise for about ten minutes towards the end of the washing cycle. Bed sheets were ripped. Utensils were gross. When I asked for a late check out we were denied that request cause the cleaners had to come, despite that the condo was not booked the next day.( we were there during a slow season)I had to pay a whole extra day to stay an extra 4.5 hours. Lastly, at the time of booking we were not informed that the condo building was under renovation construction. Of course by the time we were made aware of that by email it was too late to cancel as they have a strict no cancelation policy. They are strict about anything except keeping the place in good shape. less

— Canadian traveller, Stayed 10/07/2015

Beautiful condo

We know Big Island and a lot of condo. I was not so sure when I booked but when we arrived there we thought it was beautiful. The apartmen has eveything that you need and the most beautiful is the lanai and its view, the sunset and the boats, everynight, with the divers and lights waiting for mantarays. I am sure we´ll come back!. less

Great location, but condo needs bathroom renovation.

This was our second stay in 2904 and it is a great one bedroom condo with a terrific location. The condo is spacious and clean, and had all the amenities advertised. However, the bathrooms are dated, especially the tub in the master bathroom. The bathrooms would greatly benefit from renovation. I would recommend this vacation rental, but it would be a qualified recommendation. less

Condo unit was spotless, had everything we needed, and had comfortable beds. The only downside were the impossibly loud neighbors who got going at 6:15 every morning and needed to yell back and forth from their unit to the parking lot. Three days in a row. This unit is definitely worth coming back to, again, and again. The view is unbeatable and the condo is well supplied with all you could want for a great vacation experience. We enjoyed the close proximity to Keauhou Bay, with various boating activities and a convenient shopping center. Aloha Paradise

What can you say but Mahalo for sharing this little piece of paradise. The condo was comfortable, clean and the little extras made our trip something special. The view is incredible from the condo. Each night we would walk out a short distance to the water and watch the sunset. We believed we were the luckiest people in the world to be able to stand on the edge of an island with nothing between us and the sunset but the water--and we had it all to ourselves. How romantic! We travel the islands and we are experienced condo dwellers. We love the kick back atmosphere of the condos at Kanaloa. We love buying fresh fish every night and throwing it on the grill. Nothing compares to Kona fish. Only disappointment was the restaurant on property was closed but we went next door to neighboring resort for PuPu's and drinks. Great time! less

We stayed at Kanaloa at Kona two years ago when we visited the Big Island with our kids and grandkids and found the location to be excellent. This year it was just my husband and I so we looked for a smaller condo in the same complex, we found it in Condo #2904. The accommodations were great and the view from the lanai is unsurpassed. The entire complex is clean, well maintained and quiet. They have 3 beautiful pools; one is located right on the ocean, another is adults only which we got to appreciate this trip and a 3rd pool that is centrally located. Condo#2904 was clean, well equipped and as I said earlier it has one of the most amazing, unobstructed views of the ocean and rocky shoreline that I have experienced. If I had to come up with a negative it would probably be the upstairs neighbors, they must have worn shoes made of cement because there were a couple days we were woken up by their footsteps. Other than that one tiny issue I could not come up with any other negatives about this place. I plan on returning to Kona again (I cannot get enough of the night Manta Ray dives) and I will definitely try and reserve the same condo. less

Our visit to Kona was as wonderful as we've come to expect over

We've vacationed at Kanaloa at Kona since our honeymoon in 1985. We loved the condo, location and the amenities were great. The condo was clean and very comfortable. The only negative was that we had people upstairs (family with little children) and we could hear their every step above us throughout the day which was a bit disturbing. We believe this was due to the three-story structure (us being in the middle). We will return to Kanaloa at Kona. We love being on the ocean front. Do you have any other units you manage? less

Beautiful view!

The location and view from the lanai were fantastic! The inside of the condo could use some updating, however everything was clean and met our needs.

location is excellent with features and amenities to match

We stayed in 2904 for the first time after being in various units in this resort over the past 10 years. This unit was exceptionally well equipped, clean, and boasted a perfect ocean view. Morning coffee and evening sunsets were the order of the day on the balcony a stone's throw from the shore. less

A great vacation !

2904 is a very comfortable condo ... lots of room for two people. The view is beautiful and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the large deck. Kanaloa at Kona is a nice, quiet spot and the grounds are well maintained. The Big Island is the most Hawaiian of all the islands ... we found lot's to do from lovely drives (including Volcanoes National Park) to excellent snorkeling trips ... my husband was very impressed with the manta rays. I can't find anything negative to say. It was one of our better trips. less

The perfect location on the Big Island.

5 minutes from good restaurants and shopping. 10 minutes from rugged lava fields or lush rain forest. 20 minutes from the airport. 30 minutes from the best beaches on the island. 60 minutes away from both the northernmost point of the island and southernmost point of the us. This is a very good value considering the location and amenities and privacy it provides. It was our first time renting privately and doubt we will ever go back to the hotels. The unit is comfortable and the owners provided all the basics and more - everything we needed to stay for a week. The only thing we felt was that with a minor make over of the bathrooms and the cupboards this space would be perfect. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the unit as well. We would also like to mention the staff and admin of the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze if you follow Chuck's directions. Would we rent again from aloha - absolutely! less

Best vacation in a long time

We vacation to Hawaii annually during summer and we typically stay at the Hilton in Oahu or Maui. We've been wanting to explore the Big Island for awhile and this year we finally did it. This last trip in the Big Island was the most relaxing and fun time we've had for a long time, and the condo plays a big part of it. The condo complex was well taken care of and the ground staff were very friendly. The location of the condo is very safe and perfect. The unit itself is very private and quiet. We definitely stay there again next year. Thanks to Chuck and aloha Condos for a great vacation!! We can't wait until next year. less

Wonderful - memories to be share with my daughters for a life ti

Our stay from 6/23 to 7/03 was everything we could ask for. This was my third trip to the Big Island, bringing my twin daughters for their first trip. Condo #2904 was perfect for us. The location is exceptional and our stay was wonderful. On my first night of arrival, at 3:00 am, I watched the Moon rise over the ocean, what a view. The condo is excellent in all categories. We loved it very much. less

Perfect spot to stay while on the Big Island!

Condo 2904 was wonderful! We were pleased from the moment we walked in the door. Quiet, private setting with a fabulous view of the ocean from the front lanai (we spent most of our time sitting out there in the mornings & evenings). Loved listening to the ocean all night with the breeze blowing through the screen doors. They have a wonderfully equipped kitchen - we cooked most all of our breakfasts & dinners ourselves. Even used the bbq grill just around the corner - very convenient (even when cooking after dark). They have beach chairs, mats and extra beach towels. So nice to also have a washer/dryer to dry out our suits & towels and to do our laundry before we left for our next leg of the trip. We would definitely book this Condo again and recommend it to others! less

Home away from home!

This beautiful condo for 2 is spacious, clean, comfortable and has everything needed for guests who like to cook at home. Sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean and listening to the waves crash on the lava shoreline was the perfect start and end to every day. Great location has no road noise and easy access to shopping and the highway. Loved our 2 weeks here. less

A most enjoyable vacation

My wife and I were very happy with this condo. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed the sitting on the lanai when we weren't out and about. From the lanai we even saw whales and spinner dolphins a few times. The property was clean and well maintained. It was provided with paper towels, and bathroom tissue, laundry detergent, dish soap, and trash bags which was very helpful. There are three pools on the property as well as jacuzzi s, but we preferred the snorkeling in the ocean. The location was convenient to shopping, beaches, and restaurants. It was a relaxing atmosphere and a pleasure to be woken by bird song in the morning. less

Another great visit in 2904!

This is our second visit to Kanaloa at Kona Unit 2904. The location of this unit cannot be beat. The oceanview is outstanding. The amenities are satisfactory, although perhaps a little outdated compared to a similar unit in the complex. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. less

fantastic location

We enjoyed our stay at the condo and found it to be well equipped with everything that we could need. The location is great and the view from the ocean-facing balcony was beautiful. We would not hesitate to stay there again. The resort has 3 swimming pools, but the one closes to the ocean was our favorite. We also used the available gas grills - which are really convenient. less

Unexpected Surprise!

Before booking this condo I spent much time on the internet researching the lodgings, area, etc. as one might expect. We booked with Kanaloa at Kona Condo 2904 because the reviews were very good and it was in a good area. When we showed up (early and weary from our other travels) we were absolutely shocked at how amazingly wonderful this place was! Every room was exceptional - tastefully decorated and clean with modern appliances. Every room contained anything one might need, as if it was our own home. This was just the inside - as we walked up the stairs and into the living area the first view was of the ocean splashing on the rocks below our balcony!!! We had no idea the view was going to be so spectacular, but when we booked, we didn't worry about that aspect knowing we were out exploring and doing activities all day every day. We instantly felt somewhat sad and decided to change our plans on a day just to be able to stay in and enjoy the condo. I honestly can say there is nothing negative to say...quiet neighbours, shops and amenities close by, helpful staff, beautiful all around!! less

Just what the doctor ordered.

We just got back from spending a week here and enjoyed every minute. The condo was more than well stocked with anything you could need. We especially appreciated the full size washer and dryer for those loads of bulky beach towels. (Which were provided by the owner) The kitchen was stocked with a variety of spices and condiments. Also provided were a large coffee maker, rice cooker, coffee grinder and more. If I had to rack my brain for a negative there is very little space to store your food besides the refrigerator and freezer. But I would much rather not have to buy the basic spices/condiments and have rice cookers etc than have a place to put away a few groceries. The condo complex is beautifully landscaped filled with fragrant tropical flowers. It was a joy to come "home" every day. The view from the lanai was just as beautiful as the pictures. We hope to stay here again when we return to the Big Island. A special mahalo to Chuck for quick email responses and his gracious handling of our special request. His kidness was very appreciated. less

Lost in time and pace

My wife and I just retired and we took some time to visit our favorite island. The condo has everything we needed. We didn't need to buy a thing to add to the kitchen. The view was entertaining. The binocular was a useful tool to enjoy fishing boats, kayakers, racing canoes and dolphins. One evening I watched a fishing boat play a large fish and really got excited as they struggled to subdue the fish next to the boat. The trophy took three fellas quite sometime to haul into the boat. Kanaloa is situated in a quiet and secure location. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We will return. less

We recently traveled to Kona for family wedding. One family member made a reservation at Kanaloa at Kona and we followed suit. Aloha Condo 2904 review and askew

This unit was a great oceanfront unit with about a 60 degree view of the ocean from the lanai. We could see spinner dolphins, kayakers, outriggers, fishing boats, and manta ray diving boats form the lanai. At this time of year we could not see the sun "set into the water" from the lanai, but it was visible with a short walk. Keauhou, where Kanaloa at Kona is located, is very convenient to West Hawai'i (and Kailua-Kona) without being in the middle of Kailua and its touristy activity. We have stayed at this condo complex on numerous occasions. The facilities and grounds are generally well-kept. On this visit the pools were not crowded, at any time. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not functioning in some fashion (economy?) and access to its open-area seating and the grassy area beyond it were denied. The unit, itself, was clean and well-furnished with up-to-date electronics (two LCD TVs with Dvdvcr players, cable, and wireleless internet) and fairly well-supplied kitchen and BBQ utensils. (Could have used a coffee grinder for Kona Coffee.) The fan in the bedroom was sufficient to keep us cool at night, but aC would have helped. The fan in the living room could have moved the air a little better. Ventilation, on the whole was good, but could have been improved with a screen door at the first floor entry to this second story unit. Downsides were the outside lighting (entry porch light was not functioning making it difficult to find the key and insert into door handle and the lanai could have used additional lighting from the outdoor fan housing allowing dinner to be eaten after sunset, which comes earlier than the mainland during summer) and placement of palm trees that limit view from the lanai. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Convenient to wherever we wanted to be and whatever we wanted to do during our stay. less

A solid vacation spot

Condo 2904 is very nice overall and is recommended. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The view is very good and close to the ocean. There are a few minor issues that stop me from giving the condo a 5: the bathrooms are servicable but they definitely need a remodel (one bathroom is partially redone), the foam pillows were comfy for foam but there were no feather pillows which we prefer, the walls are pretty thin, but that is likely the case for most condos, and the wireless router was completely unsecured with no encryption. The biggest issue is that the TV set up is not great - there is a small flat screen in the main room (it is very small) and the DVD and VCR set up is a nigthmare (2 separate units, with the DVD routed through the VCR). I am really good at figuring these setups out but I could get sound or picture, but not both. The bedroom has a medium sized tube with a DVD/VCR combo which is a lot easier to use. These are relatively minor issues with the TV being the biggest if you were to stay several weeks. less

A beautiful, relaxing, must needed rest received at Condo 2904.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Condo 2904. The condo was extremely well equipped. We were especially thrilled with the kitchen as we both enjoy cooking and use condo kitchens. This one offered so much more than just the regular Outrigger condo kitchens. We appreciated all the little extras to use at the beach. The location is beautiful. We loved listening and watching the surf from the front lanai. We liked the location of the Resort at the end of the "tourist area". Yet, close to Kona and wonderfully close Kayak rentals. Perfect snorkeling just down the beach too. We had planned on 5 nights in Volcano Village, but chose to return to Kanaloa at Kona to finish our vacation. (Unfortunately we weren't able to stay again in 2904 but still loved the resort.) less

Wonderful evenings on the lanai

The whole complex was quiet and very well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and the barbecue was easily accessible . The mall was very close ,within walking distance for our groceries . The pools were never crowded or noisey .Getting up in the morning and having kona coffee on the lanai watching humpback whales was fantastic! Two Weeks in Paradise.

I'm not surprised to learn that Aloha Condos would like a review of our stay in Kona. Like everything else, their follow-up is flawless. We arrived late on Saturday night and were greeted by the gate guard. She escorted us to the unit, waited to make sure we had proper entry, and then left with a smile. Needless to say, we were in bed within the hour. Upon awakening, we rushed to the lanai to take in the magnificent view in the early morning sunlight. We were just in time to see a humpbacked whale do a complete jump out of the water, and come crashing down again. So spectacular it's hard to even describe. But, that was just the first hour. Everything just got better and better after that. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo, the surroundings, and the island. We especially liked Lulu's downtown. Great Mai Tai's, great Poke, and really fair prices. Found the speed limits to be somewhat confining, especially on the open road, but that's because I'm used to 55 mph on city streets here in the desert. All in all, a great place to vacation. Quiet, great view, close to everything, and very reasonable prices. Thanks Aloha for a memorable vacation experience. Oh yes, Bruce is the best... any problems, he'll handle it immediately... Jamison's is pricy. King Kam's Luau is the best. and the open air market on Ahi'i Street is well worth stopping for (better than the one downtown on the water)... The concierge saved us about $500 in fees for the activities we chose to do... Thanks Shawn. Snorkeling, Horseback riding in Waip'io Valley, sunset cruise on the catamaran, the luau, the volcano, and of course, the Black Pearl engagement ring we found in Hilo... yep, it was a great two weeks. Thanks. less

Our Favorite Escape

If you're like us and don't need a beach at your front door but you still want the ocean views and fresh breezes, you'll love this condo. It has a great lanai with comfortable lounge chairs along with a table, so you can spend your entire time there and still have the great Hawaii experience. But if you want to get out and explore and enjoy the attractions of the Big Island, this place is ideally located, just minutes away from Kona town with its great restaurants and many activities. You'll find this apartment to be just like home with its full sized appliances, comfortable beds and even a second lanai off the large bedroom. The area affords convenient shopping, nearby golf courses and easy access to the major roads on the Big Island. Covered parking along with a large pool and clubhouse nearby makes this complex an ideal location for families and couples. The unit doesn't have air conditioning but it really doesn't need it because of the large windows, sliding doors and ceiling fans that circulate the cool ocean breeze. The unit and the complex itself is well maintained and clean and the full time gate attendant gives you a feeling of security. There is an on-site restaurant offering a gourmet Hawaiian dining experience and an opportunity to enjoy a gorgeous ocean sunset. We can hardly wait to go back! less

Beautiful, relaxing, and just plain wonderful!

My husband and I spent 3 days at Kanaloa at Kona and had a wonderful time. This was our first time at these condos and also our first time on the Big Island. Checking in was a breeze and we were so pleased that everything was spotless and in order when we arrived. The condo was even nicer than the pictures on the internet. We had a lovely view and the pool was just a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this condo. We found the lanai to be especially relaxing and with the incredible views of the ocean and coast line, we spent most of our time out there when we were home. The master bed was the most comfy bed I haver ever slept on! The location is great and quiet with restaurants, a grocery store and take-out just a couple of minutes away. There was some good info at the condo regarding the Big Island and things to do. We loved taking a helicopter ride to see the volcano and couldn't pass up swimming with the wild Dolphins. All in all we enjoyed not only Hawaii, but also felt very fortunate to have found such a nice condo. We are looking forward to returning to this condo again and plan on staying longer. less

We enjoyed a tranquil, quiet week with beautiful views while living in an immaculate, spacious, comfortable townhouse located a few milres south of Kailua, Kona. We look forward to a repeat experience in the near future.
