At the Maui Ocean Center, you can see sharks and sting rays up close in a 750,000-gallon water tank that surrounds you. The sharks swim overhead and all around as you watch them safely through the glass. Then you can take a train ride on the Lahaina-Kaanapali Railroad (Sugar-Cane Train) from the 1890s.

For learning and exploration, take the kids to the Paper Airplane Museum or the Hawaii Nature Center. Then, just spend a relaxing day with the kids swimming and building sand castles at one of the lovely Maui beaches.
