Have a Whale of a Time in Lahaina
Friday, October 19th, 2007Nestling at the foot of the mountains on the north western coast of Maui, Lahaina is a fascinating lace to explore the culture of the Hawaiian islands in a largely unspoilt setting. A former whaling village, it now looks out over hundreds of miles of ocean designated as a whale sanctuary, and humpback whales are so comfortable here that they come right up to shore - you can watch them from your Maui Vacation Condo. Whale watching trips are available, with local fishing boats taking time out to carry you along the coast, but there’s also plenty to do onshore.
