Great, unbelievable comfortable bed!!! Great view of Hanalei Bay! Nice bathroom and shower. Appreciated the beach chairs, cooler on wheels. Room has an armoire chest that was converted to hold a small refrig and small microware with 10 cup coffee maker and hot pot. We... more moved coffee pot to bathroom for ease of filling and cleaning of carafe. Two chairs in room are uncomfortable; footstools might help. If you have a problem with claiming steps this lockout unit is located on 3rd floor - no elevator. Only real complaint was that the TV did not have access to NBC/CBS/ABC/CBS. Twice we contact the Front Desk who said they would contact maintenance to check it out but the problem was never was fixed. Hanalei Bay Resort is on side of a hill overlooking Hanalai Bay. ALL Parking, Check-in, Bar, Bali Hai Restaurant & Offices are at the top and then the pool/hot tub/tennis courts/beach and apartments are downhill from there. Hanalei Bay Resort's Bali Hai Restaurant was being remodeled but provided a limited menu in the bar. The resort provides 24 hrs shuttle service - just contact the Front Desk or Concierge’s. The beach is a long downhill walk. The beach joins with the St Regis beach that has a pool and lanai restaurant. With the Bali Hai closed we enjoyed having lunch at the beach side lanai resturant and sitting by the bay. Great area for swimming and other activities. There is a phone at the bottom by the beach to call for the shuttle unless you are up to the walk uphill. We always gave the driver a couple of dollars or so as they were always pleasant and very helpful. Would stay here again! less

Fantastic Honeymoon

Our stay in this studio condo for our honeymoon was great! We were so impressed with the room. Studio Condo 4324

Beautiful unit with a gorgeous view. Very nicely updated. My only suggestion would be to install a light in the cabinet containing the coffee maker and other kitchen items as it was very dark. I would rent this unit again.

Beautiful View

We spent 5 nights in this lovely room with a beautiful view in January. The room and the view shown in the pictures are exactly what you get. As others have noted, it comes well supplied for a studio, we were able to make breakfasts... more and sandwiches during our short stay. The lack of a bar and a restaurant is the only real down fall of the resort but for the price of this room we would come back in a heartbeat. Be prepared to walk a lot as the resort is built on hill and the beach is quite a walk (you can get them to drive you in golf carts but we never did.) Loved watching all the different birds and roosters in the daytime, but what a nuisance the roosters can be when you are trying to sleep. less

Clean, pleasant...but not private accommodations

We stayed for two nights at Hanalei Bay Resorts, unit 4324 last week (February 6th-8th). The room was exactly as we expected—clean and pleasant. However, there was a disconcerting lack of privacy. Upon our arrival we heard the neighbors distinctly—and worse, since I’m a vegetarian,... more we smelled their steak grilling— as if we were in the same rental unit. There was no sound or smell demarcation. This was not our neighbors’ fault however; that egregious oversight entirely rests upon the way in which the unit was “separated.” As an architect operating in the state of Louisiana I believe that in order to have two separate rental dwellings which are only fitted with one possible egress, there should be a fire door fitted between the units (of B-60 or A-0 type) that would help alleviate the permeable noise and odors, not to mention the safety aspect. The lack of this separation was so acute that we heard their infant lamenting in the middle of the night and teaspoons clinking in coffee cups the next morning. Oh, and the bacon. The cooking permeated our dwelling (to be honest, it was the same residence). If I had known that a stay here meant that I was sharing the space with faceless roommates, I would never have agreed to it. The second and final night of our stay was thankfully quiet, devoid of immediate neighbors. A nod in the direction of honesty and upgrading the unit to meet building code for potential guests would be well worth your energy; this was a much needed respite from stressful lives...made ever more stressful for lack of such transparency. Majestic & Peaceful

The stunning ocean and mountain views of this studio unit are absolutely breathtaking. The room is in pristine condition, beautifully decorated and fully stocked with all of the beach necessities. There are dishes and utensils and a small frig and microwave in an attractive armoire... more type storage unit. You do have to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink which is fine since the bathroom is tastefully updated and commodious. The king bed which faces the magnificent ocean view is extremely comfortable. There is ample storage throughout this well appointed unit. A delightful and most generous gift basket awaits your arrival! There are so many enjoyable amenities in this beautiful, friendly resort - from the salt water, lagoon style pool and sand bottom hot tub to the incredibly lush surroundings and numerous pleasant walkways throughout the resort and on to the beach. There is a wonderful, wide open spaced sunset lookout area with a large, warm, fire pit. Dazzling tiki torches throughout the property also light the night. There are numerous tennis courts and weekly complimentary events some of which include - Hawaiian themed movie night, mai tai night, wine tastings, and introductory overviews, orientations and promos for the island's many exciting activities (where we won a "2 for 1" Helicopter Tour of gorgeous Kauai). Time stands still in this majestic and peace filled Shangri-La like setting - until it is suddenly all too soon time to depart - with your forever blissful memories! less

Great location, decent amenities

We stayed in condo 4324 for a few days in February 2015. The location and view can't be beat. Right on Hanalei Bay, and the view from the balcony looked over the bay towards the mountains. It was an amazing view to wake up to... more each morning and to drink our coffee on the balcony. The studio is pretty small - the size of a standard hotel room - but well stocked. It includes a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster, and basic plates, utensils, etc. The owner even provides some beach gear like chairs and a cooler. The bed is comfortable. We traveled as two adults with our young daughter, and the resort provided a pack-n-play in the room for her. It was tight, but it all fit. Note that wifi is provided, but it's pretty slow. I think there's an option to pay for faster service. The resort overall is nice, but not great. The pool is nice. Lots of tennis courts, though we don't play. The on-site restaurant/bar has apparently been closed for years, it would have been really nice to have that open. The nearest food is about a 10 minute drive to the end of the road. A short walk down a path to the beach (shared with the St Regis). Beautiful. less

Beautiful condo with an equally beautiful view of the ocean and coast

We had a very pleasant stay! The condo is very well kept and clean. The view from the balcony is beautiful and we enjoyed many mornings eating breakfast out there. There were all kinds of helpful items included in our unit like beach chairs, boogie... more boards, coolers, etc. It gets fairly windy in the evenings because the resort is located high on the coastline, but we just shut the windows when the wind was too loud and it helped. As for the resort, the Pool is very nice, and they are working on building a larger hot tub. The current hot tub is a little small and was usually full of people. Staff was very nice, and location is ideal, only a short drive to Hanalei Bay. There is a great Thai restaurant nearby as well. Overall, would definitely recommend! less

Everything we needed, and more!

Condo 4324 was great! It was the perfect size for my husband and myself traveling with our 14 month old. The owners of the condo have done a great job with the decor and small touches, such as including beach chairs and a cooler. I... more just wish I would have noticed the broom earlier! We travelled for a family wedding and had around 30 people staying at different condos in the resort. I feel ours was the best stocked and most nicely taken care of out of the group! We requested a high chair and a pack-n-play for our daughter and it was ready and waiting when we checked in. So convenient! The whole resort itself is great. Very helpful and friendly with whatever you need and just a phone call away from a ride to the beach or out to the car. The restaurant was still being worked on while we were there. Great place for a vacation!

At first we were hesitant about staying on the north shore due to the distance from many of the things we wanted to see but after traveling around there is nowhere else you would want to be. The views from the lanai are wonderful and... more exotic. Coming from Miami it is hard to impress us with a sandy beach (like on the south end) but lush giant cliffs overlooking incredible bays got us hooked. This place is great for couples looking to get away. We utilized the kitchenette as much as possible eating all of our breakfasts in the room on the lanai. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great view!

Special place

Me and my fiancé came to stay for a three day birthday celebration/vacation from Oahu. We totally love the space. The room is clean, comfortable and fully equipped for all your needs. Beautiful View, Very Clean.

We stayed in unit #4324 for 11 nights. We loved the view of Bali Hai and watching the surfers on the main break from our balcony. The vaulted ceilings are very nice. The bathroom is updated with a nice, spacious shower. We never heard a... more peep during our stay even though we had neighbors in the connecting larger condo. We did not realize that the kitchen items were in a small closet space, which made food/drink preparation really tricky. The TV is a pull out so you can maneuver towards the bed in the evening, helping to maximize space. The fridge is pretty small as well.. Overall we loved the unit and would stay again, but for a much shorter timeframe since we felt the unit was a little smaller than we thought it would be. The last 2 nights we had to move to #1526 (#4324 was booked). We enjoyed the space of #1526 better in some ways (felt larger) - #1526 also had a large bar/countertop area making it much easier re: food/snacks/drinks with a larger fridge than #4324. Also nice was a separate large dressing area/sink area (separate from toilet). However #1526 is a bit noisier (can hear neighbors), and also no ocean view, but mountain views were nice also. It is also a bit more outdated, but still clean. Closer parking for #1526, but some don't like walking past maintenance/trash areas on back side near this building. We enjoyed #4324 for the view and the updated feel, view, vaulted ceiling and quiet. For a shorter time, this would be perfect, but we felt a little cramped after 11 days and wished the microwave/coffee/kitchen items were in a better location than the small closet. Also wished the fridge was a little larger. less

Lovely condo in a magic location

My husband and I stayed in this lovely condo recently and loved it! It was very quiet, with a good view of the water, clean and beautifully furnished. Amazing, relaxing spot for two

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort Condo 4324. It was an affordable way to get away to paradise! The room was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The view was outstanding! We spent many hours on the Lanai resting, reading, and relaxing. It... more was quiet and felt very private. That alone was refreshing. The bed was adequate and there was a small refrig, microwave, coffee machine and toaster for breakfasts or leftovers. The resort's restaurant, the Happy Talk Lounge, was actually really good and had decent prices for Hawaii. They had good entertainment there just about every night and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. The pool at the resort is top of the line and Condo 4324 is really close to the pool and everything else, especially the beach. The beach area was perfect. You can snorkel right at beach, or go out a little bit to catch a wave on one of the calmer days. If you brought a bunch of stuff down and don't want to carry it back, no problem! There's a phone at the base of the trail that will call the front desk. They'll send a cart right on down to pick you up and take you wherever you want. We stayed a week there, came back refreshed, and would be more than happy to stay there again! less

The room/condo (one room with microwave, mini fridge) has been beautifully updated. It has a great view of Hanalei Bay with a lovely deck. The king bed was new and very comfortable. We LOVED our stay in Condo 4324 at the Hanalei Bay Resort. Great location, great views, very comfortable bed, nice to have a little fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster ... it was all good. This condo is just as pictured...beautiful. It was recently remodeled and is very clean. The bedding and mattress are comfortable and of high quality. I prefer a washable duvet/cover but would certainly stay here again. Secluded paradise, quiant accomodations.

If you love the north side of the island and Hanalei town is your thing, than this is the place for you. A short walk from your room and you are on the most secluded beach...for now, until the St. Regis opens back up. Great... more views from the balcony and relaxed island decor make this an ideal room for two. Decent bathroom and plenty of room. The resort overall could use a place to dine and relax, ie bar, but you are so close to town with many options. Don't miss Bar Acuda, best place to dine! Perfect gem at an amazing rate!

I can't rave enough about this amazing condo at Hanalei Bay Resort. We also stayed at a nice bed and breakfast on the South Shore and at the Sheraton in Poipu but this was, by far, our favorite place. Kristen, at Aloha Condos was very... more organized about confirming dates, payment, and sending directions. There was a large welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived, which left us feeling very appreciated. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished with an incredibly comfortable king sized bed, an impressive marble bathroom, plush rug, and a great view. There was just enough kitchen equipment to cover all out needs (eating breakfast in the room, storing and packing our own lunches, and reheating dinner leftovers). The resort itself is in the perfect spot for exploring the north side of Kauai (better than the south in my opinion), it has a great pool, and breathtaking views. The resort itself it about to undergo extensive renovation so it can only get better. We liked the room so much we wished we had spent out entire vacation here. I highly recommend it. less

Wonderful Stay!

This condo was perfect for our honeymoon. The view of Hanalei Bay from our lanai was absolutely amazing and we ate breakfact every morning out there. The room was clean, large, and met all of our needs. There was even a mini-fridge and microwave so... more we could keep drinks and snacks in the room. We were totally fine with no frills like room service or daily maid service. It was worth the cheaper prices when compared to other nearby hotels (e.g., St. Regis Princeville Hotel which was next door). The hotel property was very quiet and so relaxing! An employee told us the hotel was 80% full, yet we rarely saw other guests. The pool was fine and we enjoyed the 5-7 minute walk to the beach (the path winds through the trees behind the hotel). Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our stay. We loved our room and when we return to Kauai we will certainly try to stay in this same condo at the HBR. less

Beautiful Views!

We liked the resort and pool even though the restaurant was closed. There was a really good lunch barbaque set up at the pool that was very reasonable priced and yummy food. They had a workable set up for a no kitchen unit with a closet that had coffee maker, microwave, toaster and some dishes. There was a dorm size refrigerator which allowed us to store wine and stuff for Mai Tai's and breakfast fixings. This is what we like and it was lovely having breakfast and drinks enjoying the beautiful view. The teak deck lounges were so comfortable you could take a nap. When the weather was good, it seemed perfect. When it rained hard and we couldn't get out so much, it seemed too small. I'd stay there again, especially if it wasn't the winter. We got very lucky and had mostly good weather. less
