  1. This is a privately owned unit and guests are renting directly from the homeowners whose company name is Mau Loa HBR Vacations (as will appear on your credit card statement).   Therefore your reservation is non-transferable between other properties.
    1. This condominium is professionally managed by Vacation Realty Hawaii LLC (808) 822-0272.
    2. Your  on-island contact is Graeme D. Merrin, RB, ABR, GRI (808) 651-7211. graeme@graememerrin.com
  2. Resort Fees: HANALEI BAY RESORT WILL CHARGE YOU $20 PER DAY FOR RESORT USAGE.  THIS INCLUDES  POOL TOWELS,AMENITIES AND WIFI. THERE ALSO IS A $6 PER DAY PARKING FEE PER CAR.  THE GUEST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THESE CHARGES WHICH ARE DUE AT CHECKOUT.  Resorts that require “resort fees” for guests staying on the property solely make the decision on what the amount of the fees will be and it is out of the control of the owner of this property.  These fees are subject to change at anytime without notice and could change before your arrival and could be different than the original fee stated in your reservation.  We make every effort to communicate changes in fees as soon as we are notified.
  3. Per County regulations, the lockoff units no longer have cooking appliances.  Even though you may have had them in the past, they are no longer available and this is beyond our control.
  4. THE HAPPY TALK LOUNGE IS NOW OPEN!
  5. THE BALI HAI RESTAURANT IS CLOSED. THE RESTAURANT IS PRIVATELY OWNED, NOT RESORT OWNED, AND IS THEREFORE BEYOND OUR CONTROL.  WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AVAILABILITY OF THE RESTAURANTS.  MANY LOCAL RESTUARANTS AND BARS ARE CLOSE BY, INCLUDING THOSE AT THE ST. REGIS NEXT DOOR.
  6. Amenities provided by third-party vendors (for example utility companies or subcontractors) are beyond our control.  We do our best to provide services such as cable television, internet, and resort telephones.  Should these be unavailable for part or all of your stay we will do our best to help restore services, but ultimately cannot be held responsible.  Should you absolutely require internet access we recommend you make arrangement for these services through a cell phone company.
  7. A $250 security deposit is required with this reservation and we will process a credit card authorization in that amount prior to your arrival.  This authorization will expire after your departure assuming no damages or fines are incurred.  A charge may result for damage to the condo, missing contents or for exceeding the stated number of overnight guests.  If a guest arrives without notice earlier than the scheduled check in time of 3pm or fails to depart by the required 10am checkout time, their security deposit which is on hold will be charged in full.  Our units hold very busy time lines and the failure to leave on time can cost money and schedule disasters.  Likewise arriving earlier than scheduled can disrupt the busy cleaning flow, cause mishaps and confusions with the housekeeping staff.  Damage in excess of the $250.00 security deposit will additionally be charged to your credit card commensurate with such damage.  Guests are responsible for reporting any damages immediately to the property manager, Kristen Greene, at (808) 346-0386 or kristen@alohacondos.com
  8. The reservation deposit is nonrefundable; however if a cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the check-in date, the full reservation deposit may be applied to a new set of reservation dates in the same condo beginning anytime up to one year from the original check-in date (subject to availability). Cancellations made within 30 days of the check-in date results in loss of all payments.
  9. The regular occupancy for 4323 is 4.  The regular occupancy for unit 4324 is 2.  The regular occupancy for 4323/24 is 6.  Guests are obligated to disclose the actual number of occupants prior to arrival.
  10. We do our very best to have the units clean and in proper working order for your arrival.  Should there be any cleaning or maintenance problems please call your on-island contact at your first opportunity.  We require the opportunity to rectify any problems and will do so in a reasonable amount of time.
  11. At no time should anyone sleep on sofas other than sleeper sofas that are opened up and have sheets on them.
  12. A pack-n-play and booster seat are available at no extra charge, but must be requested via email to alohacondos@vacationrealtyhawaii.com at the time of booking or with reasonable notice prior to arrival.  If more than one is needed, it then will be up to the guest to rent one from a local rental company.
  13. Stays of more than 10 days have additional mandatory interim-cleaning.  For example if you stay for 11 nights you would have an interim and a final outclean.  If you stay for 21 nights you would have two interim cleans and one outclean.
  14. Check-in time is 3 PM and checkout time is 10 AM.  Please be certain to plan your arrival and departure times accordingly.  Please understand we have a fluid cleaning schedule to accommodate so all condos are in terrific shape when guests arrive and we need to accommodate last minute bookings.  If we have a back-to-back (one set of guests leaving in the morning and another arriving in the afternoon) the cleaning takes several hours for most units.  For this reason housekeepers need to begin the cleaning at 10:00am.  Extra charges will apply if you have not departed at 10:00am.  If you need an early check in or late check out we recommend you book an extra night.
  15. Cleaning fees are based on an average hourly cost.  If the condo is left excessively messy and it can’t be made rent-ready within the cost of the cleaning fee, guests will be charged $37.50/hr for the additional cleaning.
  16. Suntan lotions, after-sun lotions and related products leave bleach-like stains in fabrics.  Please be careful with our upholstery and bedspreads.  We use white towels and white sheets for this reason, but it is not practical to have white sofas and bedspreads.  Please shower before getting into bed, and please sit on a towel if you have sun products on your skin and you want to sit on the upholstery.  Wash hands thoroughly after applying sun products to avoid accidentally damaging fabrics.  Guests are responsible for damage to linens and upholstery from products they use.
  17. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the condo or on the condo lanai and doing so will result in full loss of security deposit.  We have covered lanais, so the smoke gets trapped and blows into the unit.
  18. Air conditioning is available.  Please know that Kauai has the most expensive electricity on the island and condo electric bills run between $450 and $700 a month.  Please help us to conserve electricity and keep our rates down by turning off the a/c when you are not home, keeping blinds closed during the day to keep the condo cool, and keeping windows and sliding doors closed when you are running the a/c.
  19. We provide sheets for each bed and two bath towels per stated guest.  There is no daily housekeeping service, but you are renting 4323 or 4323/24 you are welcome to use the washer/dryer in the unit.  If you are renting 4324 you are welcome to use the coin operated washers by the 4000 buildings. If you have an interim clean included with your reservation we will launder the linens during the clean.  Please do not leave personal laundry in the washer when housekeeping is coming for the interim clean.
  20. We also provide a reasonable amount of amenities such as toilet paper, paper towels, tissue, soaps and detergents for your use.  Should you run out, you are responsible for purchasing additional products for the duration of your stay, unless you have an interim clean at which time we will replenish those supplies.
  21. Please make sure that all towels, beach equipment and remotes are left behind at the condo when you depart.  Turn keys in to the front desk. We charge replacement costs for each lost item (cost of item, travel time & accounting).  Generally items are lost because they are left in the rental car, so please check your car carefully before you leave for the airport.
  22. No pets of any kind are allowed except for service animals.
  23. Keep indoor furniture indoors, and outdoor furniture outdoors.  There is a $50 fee if furniture needs to be moved back to its original place upon your departure.  For example, if you move a large glass table, the management company will have to hire someone to go help the housekeeper put it back.
  24. Hurricane or Storm Policy: No refund will be given unless a “mandatory evacuation order” has been given by the National Weather Service for Princeville and the surrounding area.  In the event a mandatory evacuation order is issued we will refund unused portions of rent of a guest currently occupying the property and any advanced rents or deposits collected for a guest that is scheduled to arrive during the Hurricane Warning period.
  25. GUESTS ARE RESPONSILBLE FOR FOLLOWING THE HOUSE RULES OF HANALEI BAY RESORT.  Violation of the rules can result in fines, and guests are responsible for paying those fines.  In severe cases if guests are permanently removed from the condo and from the grounds of HBR by the homeowner, property manager, resort management company or the police the guest will not be refunded for rent paid for unused nights, even if the guest is prohibited from returning to the property.

Condominium living requires each resident to have respect for the needs and rights of others.  The main purpose of these rules is to provide for the enjoyment, comfort and safety of each owner and guest, to protect all the occupants at the resort from annoyance and nuisance caused by improper use of the common elements at HBR and to protect the value and desirability of HBR.

  • Appearance of Lanais

    • Lanai areas shall be kept in a neat, attractive and sanitary condition.  No objects are to be hung on the railings.  At no time should any debris or water be swept from upper level lanais onto lower level units.
  • No Smoking Policy
  •
    • The board has adopted Hawaii’s “Smoke Free Law” for all of HBR.
    • Smoking is prohibited in all areas on the grounds and in and around the buildings including: all open areas such as lawn areas, tennis courts, the hot tub area and the swimming pool areas and all enclosed areas or partially enclosed areas including but not limited to all lanais.
    • The only exception to this rule will be any areas designated as smoking areas which will be identified by appropriate signage.
    • Violation of this rule shall be subject to the enforcement provisions of HBR and may also result in the imposition of any applicable penalty provisions set forth in Hawaii’s “Smoke Free Law”.
  • Parking
  •
    • Registering your vehicle with the front desk is mandatory and you must display the proper parking permit at all times
    • No vehicle shall be parked or left unattended except in designated parking stalls.  Vehicles parked in handicapped parking stalls must display a current handicap placard.

My wife & I have stayed @ HBR 4 times, this was by far the nicest room. The view was better than advertised, sunsets & rainbows over Hanalei Bay were very nice. The studio was nicely remodeled, with tile floor & granite countertop in the bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable. The mini refer, microwave & coffee maker were all we needed, as we have learned on our prior 8 trips to Kauai, we don’t cook on vacation.Nice touch with the beach chairs & ice chest in the closet. There were even tennis rackets & balls if we played. We would definitely stay here again & recommend to family & friends.

We live on the southside of Kauai half the year but wanted to stay up north for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. #4324 was perfect. It was very clean with nice furnishings. It has a wonderful updated bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens. One of the best parts was waking up and viewing the ocean and mountains from the bed while having our morning coffee. It also has a small lanai with two chaise lounges. We would definitely stay there again.

I stayed in the studio over Thanksgiving. The views were amazing and the room was very nice. It became more fabulous when my sister and her family arrived staying in the condo next door and we opened the adjoining door. We ate breakfast on the lani every morning viewing the ocean, mountains and 4 waterfalls! The staff at the resort were really nice and helpful. We never had to jocky for chairs at the pool or space on the beach. I would definitely stay in this studio again.

Great, unbelievable comfortable bed!!! Great view of Hanalei Bay! Nice bathroom and shower. Appreciated the beach chairs, cooler on wheels. Room has an armoire chest that was converted to hold a small refrig and small microware with 10 cup coffee maker and hot pot. We moved coffee pot to bathroom for ease of filling and cleaning of carafe. Two chairs in room are uncomfortable; footstools might help. If you have a problem with claiming steps this lockout unit is located on 3rd floor - no elevator. Only real complaint was that the TV did not have access to NBC/CBS/ABC/CBS. Twice we contact the Front Desk who said they would contact maintenance to check it out but the problem was never was fixed.Hanalei Bay Resort is on side of a hill overlooking Hanalai Bay. ALL Parking, Check-in, Bar, Bali Hai Restaurant & Offices are at the top and then the pool/hot tub/tennis courts/beach and apartments are downhill from there. Hanalei Bay Resort's Bali Hai Restaurant was being remodeled but provided a limited menu in the bar.The resort provides 24 hrs shuttle service - just contact the Front Desk or Concierge’s. The beach is a long downhill walk. The beach joins with the St Regis beach that has a pool and lanai restaurant. With the Bali Hai closed we enjoyed having lunch at the beach side lanai resturant and sitting by the bay. Great area for swimming and other activities. There is a phone at the bottom by the beach to call for the shuttle unless you are up to the walk uphill. We always gave the driver a couple of dollars or so as they were always pleasant and very helpful.Would stay here again!

Manager Response

Aloha,

Thank for taking the time to post an extensive review of your stay with us at unit 4324 at the Hanalei Bay Resort.  This studio unit is equipped very well to accommodate the guests and we are glad you found it comfortable!

The resort does have buildings that are 3 levels and elevators do not exist but the views from those levels are so exceptional!

We are sorry to hear you were not able to get the base channels on the TV.  However with all the emails and posted information, you should have called us instead of going to the resort.  This unit as many other in the resort are privately owned and are managed separately from the resort.  Therefore we are the ones to contact for any concerns.

The resort does have lots of great amenities and the direct beach access is rare in the Princeville location. The shuttles will assist you as needed.

Just as a note for any reading the reviews, the St Regis pool, beach chairs etc is not for our guest to use.  The restaurants at the St Regis are open to the public and the are exceptional and do have great views and some with outdoor terrace seating.  The pool bar however is not open to the public at the St Regis.

We do hope you can come again and stay with us.  Thank you for your business!

It was clean, stocked with great amenities, the bathroom was great, I even loved the floor tiles and decor! It was comfortable and inviting. And not to mention, the view! We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with our morning coffee. Oh and the bed was so comfortable! Thank you for our great honeymoon accommodations!

Enjoyed the view of Hanalei best and having morning coffee on balcony, even in the rain! Everything supplied in unit was perfect for our needs. The only negative thing I would say is the unit next door we could hear word for word what was said. If we come back we would pay extra and have the whole unit.

Manager Response

We have received your review and are always happy to hear from our guests. This unit is beautifully upgraded with beautiful views.  Sitting on the lanai is an experience in itself! The units do have lockout doors to close off the adjoining units which is a two door system just as in hotels.   We however will take your comment and take into consideration how we might be able to improve on that.

We hope you will find time to return and stay with us again!

Beautiful View

We spent 5 nights in this lovely room with a beautiful view in January. The room and the view shown in the pictures are exactly what you get. As others have noted, it comes well supplied for a studio, we were able to make breakfasts and sandwiches during our short stay. The lack of a bar and a restaurant is the only real down fall of the resort but for the price of this room we would come back in a heartbeat. Be prepared to walk a lot as the resort is built on hill and the beach is quite a walk (you can get them to drive you in golf carts but we never did.) Loved watching all the different birds and roosters in the daytime, but what a nuisance the roosters can be when you are trying to sleep.

Clean, pleasant...but not private accommodations

Reviewed by Francis

Date 02/15/2016

We stayed for two nights at Hanalei Bay Resorts, unit 4324 last week (February 6th-8th). The room was exactly as we expected—clean and pleasant. However, there was a disconcerting lack of privacy. Upon our arrival we heard the neighbors distinctly—and worse, since I’m a vegetarian, we smelled their steak grilling— as if we were in the same rental unit. There was no sound or smell demarcation. This was not our neighbors’ fault however; that egregious oversight entirely rests upon the way in which the unit was “separated.” As an architect operating in the state of Louisiana I believe that in order to have two separate rental dwellings which are only fitted with one possible egress, there should be a fire door fitted between the units (of B-60 or A-0 type) that would help alleviate the permeable noise and odors, not to mention the safety aspect.

The lack of this separation was so acute that we heard their infant lamenting in the middle of the night and teaspoons clinking in coffee cups the next morning. Oh, and the bacon. The cooking permeated our dwelling (to be honest, it was the same residence).

If I had known that a stay here meant that I was sharing the space with faceless roommates, I would never have agreed to it. The second and final night of our stay was thankfully quiet, devoid of immediate neighbors. A nod in the direction of honesty and upgrading the unit to meet building code for potential guests would be well worth your energy; this was a much needed respite from stressful lives...made ever more stressful for lack of such transparency.

Thank you.

The stunning ocean and mountain views of this studio unit are absolutely breathtaking. The room is in pristine condition, beautifully decorated and fully stocked with all of the beach necessities. There are dishes and utensils and a small frig and microwave in an attractive armoire type storage unit. You do have to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink which is fine since the bathroom is tastefully updated and commodious. The king bed which faces the magnificent ocean view is extremely comfortable. There is ample storage throughout this well appointed unit. A delightful and most generous gift basket awaits your arrival!

There are so many enjoyable amenities in this beautiful, friendly resort - from the salt water, lagoon style pool and sand bottom hot tub to the incredibly lush surroundings and numerous pleasant walkways throughout the resort and on to the beach. There is a wonderful, wide open spaced sunset lookout area with a large, warm, fire pit. Dazzling tiki torches throughout the property also light the night. There are numerous tennis courts and weekly complimentary events some of which include - Hawaiian themed movie night, mai tai night, wine tastings, and introductory overviews, orientations and promos for the island's many exciting activities (where we won a "2 for 1" Helicopter Tour of gorgeous Kauai).

Time stands still in this majestic and peace filled Shangri-La like setting - until it is suddenly all too soon time to depart - with your forever blissful memories!

We stayed in condo 4324 for a few days in February 2015. The location and view can't be beat. Right on Hanalei Bay, and the view from the balcony looked over the bay towards the mountains. It was an amazing view to wake up to each morning and to drink our coffee on the balcony. The studio is pretty small - the size of a standard hotel room - but well stocked. It includes a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster, and basic plates, utensils, etc. The owner even provides some beach gear like chairs and a cooler. The bed is comfortable. We traveled as two adults with our young daughter, and the resort provided a pack-n-play in the room for her. It was tight, but it all fit. Note that wifi is provided, but it's pretty slow. I think there's an option to pay for faster service.

The resort overall is nice, but not great. The pool is nice. Lots of tennis courts, though we don't play. The on-site restaurant/bar has apparently been closed for years, it would have been really nice to have that open. The nearest food is about a 10 minute drive to the end of the road.

A short walk down a path to the beach (shared with the St Regis). Beautiful.

We had a very pleasant stay! The condo is very well kept and clean. The view from the balcony is beautiful and we enjoyed many mornings eating breakfast out there. There were all kinds of helpful items included in our unit like beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, etc. It gets fairly windy in the evenings because the resort is located high on the coastline, but we just shut the windows when the wind was too loud and it helped. As for the resort, the Pool is very nice, and they are working on building a larger hot tub. The current hot tub is a little small and was usually full of people. Staff was very nice, and location is ideal, only a short drive to Hanalei Bay. There is a great Thai restaurant nearby as well. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Manager Response

Aloha,

We want to say “Mahalo” to the recent guests for their reviews for the unit 4324 at the Hanalei Bay Resort. Upon reading the reviews, we have found overall pleasant experiences. The views from this unit are exceptional and time spent on the lanai is always relaxing. The wind that you might have experienced is not usual. Most of the time we have very pleasant trades winds which are always welcome to keep the temperature pleasing.

This unit is a studio meant for two people, however we do try to accommodate couples with a baby and do provide free the use of a pack n play. The resort does have lots of great amenities including two pools, a hot tub, a gas fire pit with sitting for viewing the sunsets, a lounging room for guests waiting for rooms or flights, multiple tennis courts and an exercise facility. However the restaurant we agree would be a great addition but the current private owner does not seem to have any kind of true time line. Some options for restaurants are available with the St Regis just a short walk down the bluff or a 5 minute drive to the Princeville Shopping Center. There is another new restaurant at Pali Ke Kua which has become very popular and is only a few blocks away.

We are looking forward to being able to serve you again on your next stay with us. Mahalo for your business!

Condo 4324 was great! It was the perfect size for my husband and myself traveling with our 14 month old. The owners of the condo have done a great job with the decor and small touches, such as including beach chairs and a cooler. I just wish I would have noticed the broom earlier! We travelled for a family wedding and had around 30 people staying at different condos in the resort. I feel ours was the best stocked and most nicely taken care of out of the group!

We requested a high chair and a pack-n-play for our daughter and it was ready and waiting when we checked in. So convenient!

The whole resort itself is great. Very helpful and friendly with whatever you need and just a phone call away from a ride to the beach or out to the car. The restaurant was still being worked on while we were there. Once it is up and running I would definitely give them 5 stars!

At first we were hesitant about staying on the north shore due to the distance from many of the things we wanted to see but after traveling around there is nowhere else you would want to be. The views from the lanai are wonderful and exotic. Coming from Miami it is hard to impress us with a sandy beach (like on the south end) but lush giant cliffs overlooking incredible bays got us hooked. This place is great for couples looking to get away. We utilized the kitchenette as much as possible eating all of our breakfasts in the room on the lanai. You can't beat the price for all the amenities the resort offers! Overall a beautiful condo and wonderful place to stay in Kauai.

Of the three places my husband and I stayed in during our 10 days in Hawaii, we enjoyed our studio at Hanalei Bay Resort the best! The view was gorgeous, the room well appointed and comfortable and the grounds were well kept. Renovation of some facilities is ongoing so, while I would rank the property higher in service if there was a restaurant/lounge on the premises, there was no lack of good restaurants within a reasonable driving distance. In all, HBR # 4324 was great for what we wanted...a beautiful, restful space from which to venture out, soak up some sun and explore the north and eastern shores of Kauai. We weren't disappointed and, with so many stunning courses in the area, we'll bring our golf clubs the next time!

We sat on the lanai over looking the ocean and the mountain. Beautiful view. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub on premises as well. All together it was such a fabulous stay. We stayed in unit #4324 for 11 nights. We loved the view of Bali Hai and watching the surfers on the main break from our balcony. The vaulted ceilings are very nice. The bathroom is updated with a nice, spacious shower. We never heard a peep during our stay even though we had neighbors in the connecting larger condo. We did not realize that the kitchen items were in a small closet space, which made food/drink preparation really tricky. The TV is a pull out so you can maneuver towards the bed in the evening, helping to maximize space. The fridge is pretty small as well.. Overall we loved the unit and would stay again, but for a much shorter timeframe since we felt the unit was a little smaller than we thought it would be. The last 2 nights we had to move to #1526 (#4324 was booked). We enjoyed the space of #1526 better in some ways (felt larger) - #1526 also had a large bar/countertop area making it much easier re: food/snacks/drinks with a larger fridge than #4324. Also nice was a separate large dressing area/sink area (separate from toilet). However #1526 is a bit noisier (can hear neighbors), and also no ocean view, but mountain views were nice also. It is also a bit more outdated, but still clean. Closer parking for #1526, but some don't like walking past maintenance/trash areas on back side near this building. We enjoyed #4324 for the view and the updated feel, view, vaulted ceiling and quiet. For a shorter time, this would be perfect, but we felt a little cramped after 11 days and wished the microwave/coffee/kitchen items were in a better location than the small closet. Also wished the fridge was a little larger.

The condo was great...the view from the deck and waking up to the view of Bali Hai from the bed was amazing. The condo had everything we needed. The pool was really nice...unfortunately the waterfalls were not working though. The walk to the beach was short and nice and playing tennis on the courts right there in the beautiful garden setting was fun. Can't wait to come back for hopefully a week next time!

The view from the balcony was breathtaking and we loved spending time there at sunset. It was a bonus to have the vaulted ceiling and air conditioning. The condo exceeded our expectations. The resort could not be in a more beautiful area on Kauai. Our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort was very relaxing and comfortable. The room was nicely decorated with all the necessary amenities. The view of the bay from our balcony was picture perfect and the pool at the resort was a delight. We would definitely stay at this location again. It made for a laid back, worry free vacation. Only things I would change is to include internet access in the room for a more reasonable fee than they offered through the resort and have music in a common area occasionally to add some fun. Really wonderful place though if you're looking for a relaxing vacation and aren't into the uppity hotels/resorts.

Palms 4324 was a small hotel unit with an awesome view of the bay! No kitchen facilities, only a microwave and small refrigerator, and adequate bowls, plates and utensils for 2 people. Air conditioning worked well except it didn't make it to the bathroom. That got very hot. We could have used some more drawer space...or packed less! This is a beautiful room! Definitely one of the best rooms at Hanalei Bay Resort. The only draw back is the kitchenette is limited (this would not be an issue if you are also renting 4323 as the kitchen is out of this world!). The bed is extra comfy. The bathroom is gorgeous. The management company was excellent. On top of it all the pool area is fantastic and the beach area is very nice too. Views of Hanalei Bay are stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort Condo 4324. It was an affordable way to get away to paradise! The room was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The view was outstanding! We spent many hours on the Lanai resting, reading, and relaxing. It was quiet and felt very private. That alone was refreshing. The bed was adequate and there was a small refrig, microwave, coffee machine and toaster for breakfasts or leftovers. The resort's restaurant, the Happy Talk Lounge, was actually really good and had decent prices for Hawaii. They had good entertainment there just about every night and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. The pool at the resort is top of the line and Condo 4324 is really close to the pool and everything else, especially the beach. The beach area was perfect. You can snorkel right at beach, or go out a little bit to catch a wave on one of the calmer days. If you brought a bunch of stuff down and don't want to carry it back, no problem! There's a phone at the base of the trail that will call the front desk. They'll send a cart right on down to pick you up and take you wherever you want.

We stayed a week there, came back refreshed, and would be more than happy to stay there again!

If you love the north side of the island and Hanalei town is your thing, than this is the place for you. A short walk from your room and you are on the most secluded beach...for now, until the St. Regis opens back up. Great views from the balcony and relaxed island decor make this an ideal room for two. Decent bathroom and plenty of room. The resort overall could use a place to dine and relax, ie bar, but you are so close to town with many options. Don't miss Bar Acuda, best place to dine! The pool and tennis courts are an extra bonus if you have time. Have stayed at this resort over 10 years ago, each room is unique and I will request this one again.

I can't rave enough about this amazing condo at Hanalei Bay Resort. We also stayed at a nice bed and breakfast on the South Shore and at the Sheraton in Poipu but this was, by far, our favorite place. Kristen, at Aloha Condos was very organized about confirming dates, payment, and sending directions. There was a large welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived, which left us feeling very appreciated. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished with an incredibly comfortable king sized bed, an impressive marble bathroom, plush rug, and a great view. There was just enough kitchen equipment to cover all out needs (eating breakfast in the room, storing and packing our own lunches, and reheating dinner leftovers). The resort itself is in the perfect spot for exploring the north side of Kauai (better than the south in my opinion), it has a great pool, and breathtaking views. The resort itself it about to undergo extensive renovation so it can only get better. We liked the room so much we wished we had spent out entire vacation here. I highly recommend it.

This condo was perfect for our honeymoon. The view of Hanalei Bay from our lanai was absolutely amazing and we ate breakfact every morning out there. The room was clean, large, and met all of our needs. There was even a mini-fridge and microwave so we could keep drinks and snacks in the room. We were totally fine with no frills like room service or daily maid service. It was worth the cheaper prices when compared to other nearby hotels (e.g., St. Regis Princeville Hotel which was next door). The hotel property was very quiet and so relaxing! An employee told us the hotel was 80% full, yet we rarely saw other guests. The pool was fine and we enjoyed the 5-7 minute walk to the beach (the path winds through the trees behind the hotel). Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our stay. We loved our room and when we return to Kauai we will certainly try to stay in this same condo at the HBR.

We liked the resort and pool even though the restaurant was closed. There was a really good lunch barbaque set up at the pool that was very reasonable priced and yummy food. The room was nicely furnished although smallish. It smelled a bit musty. For the price,$99.00 per night, it was a great value. They had a workable set up for a no kitchen unit with a closet that had coffee maker, microwave, toaster and some dishes. There was a dorm size refrigerator which allowed us to store wine and stuff for Mai Tai's and breakfast fixings. This is what we like and it was lovely having breakfast and drinks enjoying the beautiful view. The teak deck lounges were so comfortable you could take a nap. When the weather was good, it seemed perfect. When it rained hard and we couldn't get out so much, it seemed too small. I'd stay there again, especially if it wasn't the winter. We got very lucky and had mostly good weather.
