Great location

It was all good. The only thing that I think what needs a little update is the bathroom. More comfortable balcony chairs would be nice too. Otherwise everything was fine.

We had a great stay at this condo. Well located on the 19th floor. Really clean. Kitchen has everything needed. Boggie Board was appreciated by the kids! Concierge was really helpfull and quick to answer on any needs and advices on Oahu / Waikiki. No... more keys for the door is a plus and a parking spot with a guard at all time! They give a beach tote when you get in, which made me smile and was usefull! Above all the condo was great! We had a wonderful stay and the location was super close to a beach that was perfect for our 2 year old. Our only complaints would probably be the shower head (not a big issue) and the tracking for... more the 3 piece slider doors. Great stay at Condo 1906

We are very happy we chose to stay at the Waikiki Banyan Condos, Unit 1906. We were looking at hotels first, but found this option to be much better. The unit was very clean, no bugs! Partial beach view was awesome! Having a kitchen enabled... more us to enjoy breakfast and lunch in the condo, saving money. We also prepared food to cook at the bbq grills provided on the sixth floor of the complex. The king sized bed was very comfortable, as were the couch and chair in the living room. The A/C worked great and kept us cool, even though outside it was hot and humid during our stay. The unit is right in front of the elevators, which was convenient! Free parking and free wifi was great! Location very close to the beach was also very nice. Combination lock on the door was helpful; no need to worry about keys. No complaints! Also, Sean was very nice to deal with, and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again if we ever get back to Hawaii! less

Another fantastic stay!

Comfortable and quiet

1906 is a great condo. Best part is the parking pass!! We had others in our group that booked through the property management and they still had to pay for parking. Everything in the unit was fantastic. Plenty of utensils for cooking, beautiful views of... more the water, and a full sized fridge for a longer stay. Excellent array of beach gear for small children through adult. The AC keeps it nice and cool during the day, so when you return from the beach it's very refreshing! the Banyan property is nice also. Large pool and BBQ area that allows for larger groups. Once you get the lay of the land, it's in great proximity to the freeway and you can get just about anywhere on the island in about 40-45 minutes. I highly recommend considering this for your stay in Waikiki. less

Condo 1906

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Waikiki Banyan, but first time in condo 1906. What we love about staying here is the location (only 1 block from the beach) and having a full kitchen to enable us to cook our own... more meals rather than going out every night to restaurants etc. Condo 1906 was very clean upon arrival and having the combination lock door entry was fantastic (don't have to worry about losing keys), it also has an early checkin facility, so for a minimal charge you can checkin in the morning (totally worth it if you catch an early flight). The decor is somewhat dated, but totally fine, but could do with some tiling down the side of the cooktop as paint pealing due to heat off cook top. The bathroom is a bit small but everything works fine with good water temp and pressure in the shower (which is over the bath). It has wireless internet which is FANTASTIC, many other units do not come with internet. We would totally recommend anyone to rent out this unit, we had a great time staying in it and Sean the owner was great to deal with, and yes we would rent it again. less

You Won't be Disappointed

This was one of the better condo's that we have stayed in. We stayed for a month. It was cleaner than most and there were no bugs. The view was good, the bed was comfortable and we cooked most of our meals in the condo... more using the utensils and appliances. Because of the length of our stay we received two condo cleanings and the cleaning staff did a very good job. The only thing we would have liked is a small table for dining in the living area. We found the stools at the counter rather uncomfortable but then we are getting older. We would definitely stay here again. less

Great Option

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in September 2017 and it was a great option and certainly a great value for us. Since we weren't going to be in town that long, we didn't rent a car and the location of this... more unit was within easy walking of anything we needed - beach, restaurants and for light grocery needs. The A/C unit worked great and the condo had everything we needed. The shower/tub area could use some refreshing, but all was clean and in good working order. Waikiki Banyan 1906 - August 2017

My family (two adults and two kids aged 6 and 4) had a great time last week. We had a car so the free parking with plenty of spaces worked well for us as we were always able to find a spot closer to the... more elevator. This was great when we had to carry million things for the kids and when they fell asleep in the car. We always ended up going straight to the 4th or sometimes 5th floor for a space closer to the elevator as the first three floors were packed. The beach is so close that we had no problem walking with the kids although we only went once as we were busy checking out other nearby places. The unit is clean and has everything you need to survive a week with the kids. There were cooler bags, beach bags, snorkelling gears, floaties, beach towels, shampoo, soap, beach chairs and a nice beach umbrella that we thought every rental place in Hawaii should have ! We could not have survived hours of beach time with the kids without this beach umbrella. The swimming pool and the playground were a hit with the kids although we only got to use it once. I read a review about the door rail on the floor, but I didn' t understand it until I got there and stubbed my toes few times although the kids have learned to walk over it after only one time. Perhaps painting in different colour than the floor might help. The bed was comfortable, but the sofa bed was squeaky and the foot of the sofa bed was sloped down which made the kids fall off the bed when they got near the edge. However, they did not complain at all and fell asleep within minutes. The location is great if you are looking for more quiet part of Waikiki, but still walkable to everything you need. We walked to the busier side of Waikiki closer to the International Market Place to have a dinner at Marukame Udon and we were glad we did not pick a place closer to the busy streets as it was too noisy and crowded for us. If you are planning to travel to places near Waikiki such as Diamond head, Hanauma bay, Blowhole, Lanikai beach etc, then this is a great location with free parking and at the same time walkable to restaurants and shopping as well. We would return to this place next time as it had everything we needed to enjoy a week with the kids. less

5 nights at 1906 Waikiki Banyan

From the start Sean was very helpful and answered all of my questions leading to our stay at the 1906 condo. We had detailed instructions that were easy to follow. The condo was quite large for two people (a family of four would be comfortable... more in this space) but I enjoyed the space very much. The lanai was a good extra space to enjoy some views of the ocean! There are beach gears you can use and really appreciate the beach towels. It was also convenient that there is parking included! The bathroom may need some update in he future but it worked just fine. All in all I would recommend the 1906 at Waikiki Banyan. It's centrally located, walking distance to the beach, and all what Waikiki has to offer. If you tire of Waikiki you can drive off to all of the wonderful spots in Oahu! less

Recent stay

The best part about this unit is the location. Only two blocks from Waikiki Beach, but far enough to be quiet as well. The unit is basic, adequate utensils in the kitchen, no dishwasher. The bedroom is a good size. We eventually learned to lift... more our feet going into the bedroom, after stubbing our toes many times on the railing between the bedroom and the main room. The bathroom is tiny and the tub area needs work. It would have been nice to know to bring quarters down to the BBQ area before we arrived with our dinner, ready to cook. less

Disappointed

We only stayed one night and was not expecting a lot, but we found a giant cockroach in the kitchen upon our arrival. In addition, there were sand in the mattress of the pullout sofa so we did not use it at all. The towels... more had a bad odor like used and not washed or sanitized. Didn't feel like we got our monies worth. Not sure if I would go back. I was glad it was only half day we used it for as we had to catch an early 7 am flight the next morning. Love This Condo!

We just loved this condo. We were two adults and two small children visiting from New Zealand and it suited us perfectly. Very well set up and supplied with everything we could need. When I looked for my accommodation, I preferred condominiums to hotels because it has more room, cooking facilities and feels like a home. Waikiki Banyan Room 1906 is absolutely comfy and a very convenient place to catch the bus, go to the beach and you... more can even go to the Diamond Head on foot. I went to the Diamond Head Beach and there were not so many tourists like on Waikiki Beach. Although the view from the room is a partial ocean view, it was good enough to see Hawaii's blue ocean. Great location and amenities

Our first time to Honolulu. Because of the lower exchange rate of our dollar travelling to the USA was a bit of a concern....in the end this condo was an important piece of the puzzle to help us realize our dream travelling to Oahu. We... more had the best family vacation to this amazing island. We rented a car, stopped at Costco, and parked in the parking spot. One of the best attributes of 1906 is the awesome parking. You have flexibility, and easy access to the Interstate so you can explore the island. It is 1.5 blocks to Waikiki beach, 1 block to Seattle's best coffee (open at 5:30 am), 3 blocks to Starbucks. The condo allows you to cook a bit to help with costs, is very clean, good wifi for sending pictures back home, safe area, 4 elevators for fast up and down, washing machine at end of hall, nice lanai and view, friendly neighbours. 5 stars. less

Perfect location but needs some updating.

The location of the Banyan is, in our opinion, its best feature. It's so close to everything in Waikiki, and the buses stop just around the corner to take you anywhere else you wish to go. Another favourite feature was that the unit we stayed... more in faces the ocean and we could actually see some of it from our 19th floor balcony. Although we stayed in a privately owned condo unit, the front desk was always available to provide information and make change for washer/dryer, bus, BBQ, etc. The owner of our unit lives in Honolulu and that turned out to be a bonus when we encountered a minor water leak and could contact him directly so he could take care of the problem. The fact that there is only one washer/dryer per flor is somewhat inconvenient as we could not always do your laundry when we wanted to. Overall, though, we had a great stay and would definitely go back. less

Most comfortable and convenient condo at Waikiki

We have stayed at the Waikiki Banyan in different units over the years. Condo 1906 is definitely one that we prefer and would stay in again with no hesitation. The condo has been renovated with granite on the kitchen counters and island. The floor is... more either tile (kitchen and bathrooms) or wood laminate which makes it very clean. The furniture is comfortable for sitting or lying on while watching TV or reading a book. The location of the condo is convenient to Waikiki Beach, the Ala Wai Canal, and the zoo. The condo faces south and a nice view of the ocean is seen between two buildings. We were always afforded a beautiful view of the sunset. The condo is in shade for part of the day from the building located nearby. This is a blessing as it prevents the condo from getting too hot during the day. We never turned on the air conditioner...just had the sliding door and bedroom windows open day and night. The owner was very responsive to any requests we had during our stay. Lovely! less

wonderful waikiki getaway

My friend and I made a split decision booking to Oahu to make some destination wedding plans for my wedding next December and for a little relaxation. We found Unit 1906 at the Banyan online with " alohacondos.com. I made an inquiry by email and... more it took only a few minutes for the owner of the unit to personally phone me to tell me about the updates that he'd done only days before. They were beautiful updates to the kitchen, and the bathroom. The flooring is all brand new throughout. The King Size bed was brand new as was the mattress on the hide a bed. The entire studio was very quaint and clean. Sean, the owner, also came by a few days into the trip to bring brand new lamps for the bedroom. He was extremely polite, as he set up the new lamps. Wanted us to keep in touch if we needed anything at all. We didn't, as we were very self sufficient. The view from this unit was partial ocean view, gorgeous sunsets, and of Diamond Head to our left. It was extremely pleasant to sleep with the lanai doors and all the bedroom windows open all night, every night, to let the Hawaiian tradewinds cool down our unit. Never once turned on the AC. If you've got Netflix you can apparently hook up to the tv. Im not sure how this works as we didn't do this but Sean did mention it on his visit. I would stay in Sean's studio again time after time. Its comfortable, clean, and even being right outside the elevator, it was quiet, except for the street noise, but that's inevitable in Waikiki. Ive already given Sean's phone # to our pharmacist who was looking for a great place at a great price. less

Condo is Perfectly located near beach, (like 2 blocks walking) and within walking distance of everything restaurants, bars, shopping, the zoo, etc. The owner, Sean Parsa, was very responsive to any requests and was literally a phone call away. I called for a minor issue and he came within 10 minutes. Great customer service. The condos were well equipped with utensils and even had some starter supplies. The condos exceeded our expectations.
