Amazing little get away in Napili Bay

We loved staying at this great little suite at Napili Bay resort. Very relaxing, restoring and quiet get away from the crowds and pace of other places in Maui. The beach is idyllic and the suite has all you really need for a single or... more couple. It's cooled by fans and cross breezes, which really was all you needed at the time of year we were there. Might get warm without A/C at other times but it was perfect in April. Bed was comfy, the place was clean, birds in the bush out back were amazing, views of the ocean and proximity to beaches was awesome. Given it is a bachelor style suite, it still felt like there was space and areas to not be on top of each other all the time. And it was relatively quiet given the proximity of folks around. BBQ and beach tools/toys were great additions. Lots of walks near by, and generally just a great, relaxed vibe. Definitely would stay again!! less

Great Location

We visited in Mid-March and loved the location of this condo. The room is well proportioned and the king bed is a plus. The lanai does not directly face the ocean, but the ocean views are really quite good. We saw the turtles on the... more beach and whale spouts and tails mostly early in the morning and in the early evening. For the most part this is a very quiet condo complex and we have stayed previously in two different units. However, we were unlucky during the second half of our week to have a family of 4 crammed into the studio condo next to us with a very loud crying baby and slamming doors late into the evening and early morning. Our condo was mostly clean and well provisioned. The kitchen is very usable and has everything you need. The bathroom is large enough for the two of us, but we had to fix the shower drain and do some additional cleaning that we weren’t expecting so that we could use it. This is definitely one to put on your return to list. We had some rain and had the beach to ourselves a couple of afternoons. Make sure and do the Kapalua cliff walk which is nearly 4 miles round trip from the condo complex. Breakfast at the Gazebo was great; we ordered it “to go” and ate it on the lanai as the line for sitting at the restaurant was way too long. less

A very pleasant stay

Nice unit in a great location. Napili bay is always beautiful, relaxed and friendly. Great room, great beach, easy access

Condo 212

We enjoyed our stay in Condo 212. It was clean and comfortable. We loved the view from the lanai, which had plenty of beach toys for us to borrow, as well as very comfortable chairs. There was a rainbow every day, snorkeling was great. The... more kitchen was well stocked with cooking oil, sugar, tea, and other basics, which was appreciated. It was nice to have the full range with oven and dishwasher. A pitcher for iced tea would be a nice addition to the kitchen supplies, as well as a laundry basket for collecting towels that have been used. The bed was comfortable, there was a flat screen TV on the wall, and the condo was well stocked with travel books for Maui adventures. We were so thrilled to come back for a vacation at beautiful Napili Bay, and can highly recommend condo #212! less

Perfect Retreat

THis was our third or fourth stay at Napili Bay Condo 212. We love it's location on the second floor where we can see and hear the ocean all the time from our lanai!! We can pop down to the beach multiple times each day... more for a walk to see turtles or snorkel at a neighboring bay!! The condo is well equipped, clean and soothing to the senses. May visit to Napili

Had a great time at Napili Bay. The condo was beautifully appointed. Nicely decorated and comfortable living/bedroom area and kitchen. The lanai had comfortable swivel chairs with a side view of the ocean when sitting outside and even though it wasn’t a front unit you... more could still hear the ocean clearly. I never cooked but the kitchen was really well stocked. My family stayed in a front unit, and while their view was better, this condo was much nicer inside. My only complaint is the beach seems to be eroding away. We were here two years ago and the beach is visibly smaller. So you had to get a spot early if you wanted to sit on the beach. Doesn't matter, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Great value for the price. less

Another Excellent Stay at #212

This was our eighth visit to Napili Bay Resort and third time at #212. We love Napili Bay because it is quietly tucked away from all the crowded resorts, and everything we need is very accessible. The Napili Market (and Maui Tacos) are just minutes... more away. The beach is literally 30 steps from the door. The unit is clean and furnished well. The huge flat screen TV was a nice addition. The view from the lanai is great; we love to see the whale activity while drinking coffee in the morning. We have seen turtles and monk seals there, as well as some great snorkeling at the far side of the beach. We also like the easy access to the Kapalua Coastal Trail as well as taking the nice beach walk to the Sea Horse to see the sunset. Napili Bay and the Napili Bay Resort has always been a special place to us, and we will definitely stay there again. Mahalo less

Just perfect!

This is my second stay at Napili Bay Resort and it just perfect. The location and beach are wonderful and within easy reach of a market and activities. There is even a local gal with a pop up shave ice/kombucha shack right by the surf... more shop. The view of the beach and Molokai is divine and the sound of the surf is heavenly. Wonderful stay in #212

First time staying in unit 212, have stayed in several other units at NBR. Upon arrival had a little trouble with the doorknob not working, and couldn't get in, got that figured out eventually with the help of another tenant. The unit was very clean... more , everything was in great condition, a fridge with a handle would be nice but other than that all was good. The king bed was very comfortable, television worked well as did the Wi-Fi . Kitchen utensils and plates, cups, glasses were very adequate. We loved the close proximity to the beach, view from the lanai was excellent and the beach chairs were in good shape. Bad Experience

We love Napili Bay and have been coming for many years. This was a bad experience because we were NOT told that there would be construction going on in the condos while we were there. It was impossible to relax with the loud cutting, pounding... more and grinding sound all day long and the water being shut off. Evidently they were remodeling bathrooms in some of the units. Specifically cutting out old bathtubs, which is a super loud process. After a few days we decided to move to the The Ritz Carlton. Property manager happen to be gone on vacation. The owner of the units being worked on was there and the acting manager on site, but didn't have much to say other than he told the other owners that the work would be being done. I believe his name was Chuck. So long story short, we paid for our rooms for a few nights that we didn't use them. Bummer. less

Lots of positive aspects to Condo 212

There were many things I really liked about Condo 212: * It's location in the building kept the orange night light to a minimum. * The shower was gorgeous and the fixture easy to use. * The dishwasher was very quiet and cleaned well. *... more The bed was perfect for my back. * The dishes and cooking utensils were very well stocked. * The view from the lanai was lovely when standing. * There was an abundance of clothing storage. * The end tables, chest of drawers bureau, and mirror were exceptionally lovely and I found myself looking at them appreciatively while indoors. There were some down sides, which I consider not as important as its great features, but I am mentioning them. * There were only two chairs in the sitting area, rattan, and the cushions slipped forward when sitting on them. * There was no table for eating anywhere in the condo, inside or out. * The lanai furniture did not allow a view over the railing. This was too bad since the ocean view was really very nice, but I found I did not sit out there like I have in other condos because I could not really have a clear view and there was no table. * I am not sure the maid service did more than change linen. I am tidy, but there were some things I cleaned daily that I thought they would clean as a matter of course. They did not - like vacuuming the floor. I think that would have helped because I swept several times a day, but vacuuming at the mid point would have been nice. Overal - a wonderful stay and I am already missing being there. Thanks. less

Lovely room

This was a very nice room. It was not right at the front, on the beach, but still has a very good view of the ocean and the rocks where the turtles swam. Clean and neat.

The unit is very clean on the the outside but don’t look inside. The Pillows 2 king size lumpy pillows. Then 4 in shams. Thought take those out of the sham and use them. OH MY. Great room, Great view, Great Beach

This was our third stay at Napili Bay Resort and second stay in room 212. The condo is well equipped and is set up for two. New kitchen, working internet, new Tommy B beach chairs and umbrella and a few water toys. The bed and... more pillows are comfortable and new as well. The room is beach view but is very close to the beach, the resort is on the beach so you walk through the private gate right onto the beach. The laundry is clean and working and the BBQ grills are new Weber propane models and the outdoor eating are near the grills is clean and shaded. We love this resort and location, the Napili shopping center with grocery is near by and you are only a few minutes north of the Whalers Village with it's shops and restaurants. Minor Issues

First, I want to say this condo has one of the most amazing views on Maui. This is our 4-5th time to the complex and we never want to leave. That being said there were a few minor issues that prevent me from giving a... more 4-5 star rating... 1. No spices at all upon arrival. Every other time I have ever visited a condo usually there is at a minimum s&p, small thing of cooking oil, etc. I know we always leave ours upon departure, and it was surprising to see the cupboards completely bare. 2. Dishes in the cabinets were put away with water in them. Not sure how long they sat there but all of them had mildew smell and many had standing water that needed to be poured out. 3. Dishwasher continually gave error code and would only occasionally run. Called number listed in condo information and left a message with no return call. Would not been a major issue if not for #2 above. 4. One of the beach chairs had a major rip in the seat and was unusable. 5. Stained bedding. Once again these items certainly did not ruin the stay and the views are amazing. This condo is showing its age, and next time we go back will probably skip 212 and try to get 211. less

Million Dollar Location at a Budget Price

This is our 4th time staying at Napili Bay Resort and it never disappoints. Unit 212 is about as close as you can get to the sand without renting one of the oceanfront units. We had a lovely view of the water from our deck... more on this side unit and it was a heavenly place to sip coffee in the morning. The kitchen has been beautifully updated with granite counters and modern appliances. The rest of the unit remains a bit outdated but was clean and well stocked with everything we needed, including my favorite Tommy Bahama beach chairs. We rented a second unit for my family during this stay and, while the other one had more upgrades and an amazing memory foam bed, this unit was about $50 per night cheaper. Given that we spent most of our time on the beach anyway, unit 212 was perfect for us and a bargain for this kind of access to one of Maui's beast beaches. less

Unbelievable location

I have stayed at this small complex many times. First time in unit 212 -- thought I'd try the second floor to avoid noise you get from neighbours above in a first floor unit. It was quieter. The location is unbeatable, the complex is clean,... more cooking area great, nice laundry area with book exchange and ice machine. Unit 212 has a remodelled kitchen and did provide almost everything one would need -- a juice jug would have been nice. All the knives were dull. Warped pans that don't sit flat on the cooktop. Lids that don't fit the pots -- a few minor annoyances. My sister and I were there for two weeks. It did not bother us that the dishwasher was not working but there were just two kitchen towels for our entire stay. We had enough bathroom towels. Only two beach towels, so we did have to do laundry. We were very comfortable but here are a few picky issues: The place needs a really good deep clean; you could easily see the dust balls collecting on the walls; dirty hand prints and grime on the walls; long, dark hairs on the floor; potato chips under the bed when we checked in. The big, heavy dining chairs do not tuck in under the table for proper dining and make a horrible screaching sound when you move them. We tried to be considerate to the folks in 112 below -- at minimum, the chair legs need felt pads on them! Bed was comfy -- pillows, not so much. Our biggest issue was the hot/cold temperature of the water in the shower -- very inconsistent, from scalding to cool. Thought it was a bit chintzy that there were just 3 rolls of toilet paper in the unit when we checked in. Obviously we had to purchase more. Coffee pot is tiny so be prepared to make more than one pot if you like your coffee in the morning. No sound dock of any kind in this unit. We did not watch TV at all but it's small. Internet worked fine. There are zero hooks to hang wet items on the lanai (as other units have). A few more hooks inside the unit would be a good add. Many other owners in this complex leave a "welcome" basket for their guests but this owner does not. 212 is a BASIC unit that could use a bit more attention, but our stay was comfortable. Napili Bay is, indeed, a special place and I will be back. less

Lovely Condo

I have booked two different Condo's at Napili Bay Resort and was very pleased with both of them. This year I booked Condo #212 and immediately felt at home. The bed was a very comfortable king size. The only downside was the coffee pot was very small and I am a coffee drinker, but hey, I made two pots! Swimming with turtles right in front of the room.

Condo 212. Amazing view, included beach chairs, beach umbrella, mats to lay on at the beach and everything else you would need. Had BBQs which weren't the best but our food eventually cooked. Well appointed room, comfortable bed and pillows. Ceiling fans work a treat.... more Unreal snorkeling right outside where we swam with plenty of turtles (toward the rocky end) and fish. Nice shady tree on the beach. Wifi worked well. If your coming here you'll defiantly need to hire a car. The outside tap handle broke where you wash your feet when coming in from the beach and it was replaced within 10 hours, quite impressed. Grounds are very well maintained. less

Location, location, location!

My spouse and I loved this condo! It's clean and conveniently located on a gorgeous bay. The snorkeling, boogie boarding, and swimming were all super fun. I felt safe in the water, even with the big waves on some of the days. It's a very... more family friendly beach, and we even felt comfortable as a gay couple. My only complaint would be the noise factor. If you get young folks in your neighboring condos (as we did--on both sides!), it can be frustrating to fall asleep at a reasonable hour. You can hear everything from the neighbors, especially if their out on their balcony. Even with ear plugs it was a bit frustrating. Am I getting old and intolerant? I don't know, maybe. I guess I just would rather fall asleep to the waves crashing, than the neighbors yapping. It was still worth it. less

Another great Napili Vacation

We had a great stay in 212 in the beginning of March.. Very nice location with a great view of the south part of Napili Bay, and Molokai. The kitchen looks recently remodeled with nice KraftMaid cabinetry and a stainless stove, way nicer than ours... more at home. 2 boogie boards, 2 beach chairs, an umbrella,, and a cooler, were provided. At first we would've liked a high table and chairs on the lanai, but the regular chairs were very comfy. I do believe we will stay in 212 again. Thank You Lyn and Charlie! less

The Perfect Vacation

The Napili Bay Resort was everything that was advertised and more. We visited many beaches on Maui and Napili Bay was the best. Had everything we needed.

The condo was clean and fitted with everything one would need. Since we were there mainly for breakfast, lunch, changing clothes, and sleeping the space was very satisfactory for the two of us. There are two private entrances with showers on each side of the building allowing guests to enter the beach and on your return shower before re-entering the condo. The beach that fronts the property was perfect for families with children of all ages. Since we were visiting in the middle of September there were mostly young couples, families with small children under 5 years old, and retired couples. We fit into the latter catagory and enjoyed walking the beach and swimming in the ocean at all times of the day. Wonderful condo in a perfect location.

This condo is wonderful. Sitting on the lanai, you can view an amazing sunset over the ocean. At night, you can hear the ocean while you sleep. It is also only steps away from the beach. Relax on a beatiful beach for a stress free vacation

My wife adn I spent our 10th visit to Hawaii at unit 212 Napili Bay resort. We have visited 5 of the islands and have stayed at over 20 different condo complexes, two bedroom, one bedroom, studios, on the water away from the water, ocean... more front, ocean view you name it. We consider ourselves very experienced Hawaii vacationers. This was by far our new most favorite location to stay. The Napili Bay beach is totally awesome, sit in the sun, sit in the shade, swim, bob, snorkel or boogey board. The Gazebo restaurant next door has awesome breakfast on the south end of the bay and the Seahouse has awesome dinner on the north end of the bay both walking distance along the beach. The room has been recently updated with a whole new kitchen and the bed was very comfortable, the wireless internet worked well and had strong signal, important for me to keep in touch with work while whale watching from the lanai. The complex is super well maintained, the ouside eating and BBQ area is clean and maintained, the laundry room is clean and well maintained. The Napili Market Place is close enough to walk to and has a nice size grocery store and teh Napili General store is next door. We drove less during this stay because the location was so perfect. Lyn was vey profesional in her corespondence with us, kept us updated as the date approached and ensured we had the instructions for check in and check out. The local overseer checked in on us while we were there so we always felt cared for during our stay. We loved our stay at Napili Bay unit 212 and will be back. less

Basic, clean, close to beautiful Napili Bay.

We enjoyed staying at Napili Bay Resort in unit 212 because of it's location to Napili Bay, nice lanai view, and affordability. It was a basic studio with easy access to the awesome Napili Bay and all that the West Maui area offers. It had... more everything we needed for our week long stay. Little things about unit 212, such as a spare sunblock and aloe as well as a fully stocked kitchen, were appreciated. We can tell that the property is kept up, as there was basic maintenance and upkeep going on all throughout our week but nothing that was loud, or major constructive, easy to live with for sure. Some properties on Maui are really run down and while this unit and building are older, it's in good shape. The unit did not have aC, it stayed cool with breeze from the bay and open shutters and we were comfortable. Although not beach front, it still offered an enjoyable view. It was great that beach chairs, beach umbrella, were available and waiting for us on the lanai to use throughout our stay. Only little issue we had was that the shower drain did not drain well. We let care takers for this property know upon our check out. For someone looking for basic, clean, and affordable Maui accommodations, this is a good spot. I would recommend this for a couple or single traveler, not a family since it's a studio. It offers a great location and comfortable place to stay while on Maui, especially if you are big fans of Napili Bay. less

Non-exagerated Beauty and comfort

With this being our first time to the Hawaiian Islands and Maui specifically, we went with some research, but also with doubt and skepticism. Our positive attitude, faith, great descriptions and accurate pictures ahead of time paved the way for a remarkable visit. The area... more of Napili was (and is) absolutely perfect for us. Low -key, non-'resort-y' with walking distance to a wonderful general store with most anything you could need and, of course, Snorkle Bobs for the fins, masks and (eventually) wet-suit tops (highly recommended for longer stays in the water). The weather high 60's for the lows and 83 for the high with 'friendly' winds. This and the area above Napili proved to be our favorite even after doing the Hana Highway and Southwest down to Big & Little Beach. A day trip to Haleakala was great, as was venturing upcountry to Paia and Makawao (our favorite upcountry town). As we are not the 'large resort, you must pamper me, mall shopping' types, where we stayed proved critical to one of the most memorable experiences we've ever had. In fact, life changing. The condo was everything we'd hoped for and more. The view was intense and welcoming, parking was easy, finding the place was easy and getting around was equally easy. The condo was amazingly furnished and outfitted with kitchen utensils and pots, pans and dishes. Cooking and preparing (mostly breakfasts) was easy for us. Cleaning supplies helped too. The beach chairs and 'noodles' and beach towels were great to have. Leaving was the hardest part. less

Acceptable

We were under the impression that this was a beachfront from the pic on Vrbo but it is off to the side. Units 101/201-109/209 are the only beachfront units. There is also no a.C. And if it would get real hot it would be stifling... more but there was always a great breeze. The light from the resort next door shines right into the balcony so they should fix that. So that's the whiney stuff. It is very economical and the beach is wonderful. Snorkel Bobs is a block away. Snorkeling was better than the snorkel trip to Molokini. We should have spent more time just hanging out on the beach than traveling around the island. Napilli Bay beach is indeed a slice of heaven at a reasonable price unlike many other places in Maui. The other folks at the condo were very nice and friendly. They gave us suggestions on their favorite resteraunts. There is a small grocery walking distance and a larger one down the road. We'll definitely be back. We'd much rather spend more money on food than lodging. less

Great spot for relaxing on the beach

For a relaxing getaway, this is the place. It is right on a small beautiful beach for swimming. Snorkeling and turtles right off the beach. The unit has everything you need, and nothing you don't. The porch (lana'i) is great, and includes body boards and... more beach chairs. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom clean and plenty of space with a good closet. The kitchen has everything you need, but the counter space is a bit small for preparing a meal (and having the dish dryer out there). This place is an ideal location for just relaxing, listening to the waves (and wind), and getting away. However, it was our first time on Maui so we wanted to explore the island a lot. It is a little bit of a trek from many of the island sights: Haleakala, Hana. Even going into Lahaina is a little pain because of traffic and lack of parking there. The check in was effortless. I was a little taken aback when we first opened the room up - it was a little stuffy, but after airing it out it was comfortable for the entire stay. One thing which was irritating was the flood light which is right outside the porch - seems to be there for asthetic purposes, but just hurt my eyes and detracted from seeing the stars. Oh well, you can walk down to the beach in 1 minute so comprimises can be made. Snorkeling in Napili bay was good fun. Kapalua to the north is much better and we recommend visiting it with a short walk or getting to the parking around 9 or 10. Wonderful Napili Bay

We highly recommend the Napili Bay Resort! From the moment we made our reservation to the end of our trip, the owners and management staff anticipated and addressed every need and question that could have arisen. The owners give very complete instructions about accessing the... more condo, where things are inside, and what the specific amenities are. They are very friendly, helpful, responsible and attentive. The condo itself was equipped with everything we needed, from basic toiletries, to kitchen appliances, and even folding chairs, an umbrella and boogie boards for the beach! The condo is very comfortable for two people. It was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is stocked with cooking equipment (including coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc.) Even without air conditioning it was quite comfortable. It was possible to get a breeze running through the condo quite easily by opening the blinds. The lanai had a great view (Unit 212). The amenities that were included made planning our day trips and excursions a lot easier and simpler: a landline telephone, wireless Internet and cable TV. There are also laundry facilities on site and a common-use barbecue. The beach is truly a gem. Sea turtles poke their heads up to see you, and all kinds of fish are around for great snorkeling. Napili Bay Resorts really has the best location on this beach. The location was also fantastic. Within walking distance there are 3 general/grocery stores, a coffee shop, snorkel equipment rental, excellent restaurants, hiking trails, and several other lovely beaches. It's out of the way from the crowds and scarce parking of Lahaina, yet only about a 15-minute drive away. less

fantastic Condo 212

Condo 212 was excellent! It had everything we needed and even had bogie boards, beach umbrella, and chairs. The room was very clean and had extra blankets and towels. My only complaint was that the refrigerator was not cold enough on the first day and... more my ice cream melted and we had to move everything to our friend's refrigerator (They were staying at Napili Surf). But the refrigerator work well the next day. I was really happy that this room came with a steamer so I was able to steam rice. Overall, the stay was wonderful and we had a great time. A Terrific Spring Break

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the Napili Bay and enjoyed every aspect of Condo 212. It was furnished in a tasteful traditionally tropical manner, and we didn't miss having a big screen TV or dishwasher. Perfect home away from home

We loved staying here, especially since it had a full kitchen, a view of the beach, and it was a stone's throw away from the beach to go relax. It was also really nice that there were beach items to use in the condo like... more chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, etc! Air conditioning would have been nice only because it was unusually hot during our stay, and I was 6 months pregnant at the time. The mattress was also a bit too firm for my liking, but that is to be expected. I loved that this place was out of the way of the bigger touristy towns, leaving us with lots of privacy. The only part that we weren't too crazy about was that it is required that everyone be charged $100 for cleaning upon checkout, yet we were responsible for taking out the trash, doing the dishes, putting dirty towels in the appropriate place, etc. It only costs me $65 to get my whole 1870 sq. ft. house to be cleaned, so I think $100 for the tiny studio condo is a bit steep. All in all, we'd return for another visit! less

Private and perfect

This studio condo was perfect for our honeymoon: casual, private and steps away from the beach. We arrived to find a clean and well- appointed room with a beach view, exactly as advertised. There's some lava flow with tidepools, too. There were really... more nice beach chairs to use, plus boogie boards and beach towels. It was so nice to sit on the lanai and read out books or have a drink. The kitchen was very well equipped. I liked the decor and the bedspread. We had everything we needed. Thanks! less
