Beautiful Big Island Conco

great week

Sorry so long... We were lucky enough to stay here for 8 days while I attended a conference at the Fairmont-Orchid in July. We appreciated the proximity to Kahalu'u Beach---which is super good for snorkeling, and there was a lifeguard. (Parking spots open at the... more beach early morning and around lunch time, drive in before you assume it is full!) The location is just off All'i drive, but around 5-10 minutes to touristy Kona, so there was never any noise, it is a quiet area. A Long's drug store is around the corner with a local grocery chain--but try to buy fruit at a roadside fruit stand. It is 20-30 minutes to the airport depending on traffic. The condo was very nicely decorated, and had all of the things you need and don't want to buy for only a week: laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, spices and salad dressing. Drip coffee maker. (I never buy coffee beans on vacation because I am not sure if there is going to be a coffee grinder, but I think there was one in the pantry or one of the cupboards.) It has the local cable provider cable service--which had on-demand programming. I didn't see amazon/netflix, but it was easy to plug my laptop into the tv, and the wifi-internet was great. The ice maker worked good! Brandon was responsive when I emailed him. There was a front loading washer, that did smell a little mildewy--(leave the door open people,) but it is only in a hallway, and it washed clothes great, and there was a dryer. I thought it might be weird to not park in the garage, but it made it a nice place to unpack things, and let our gear dry (avoiding the temptation to hang stuff outside--which is against the HOA rules). We liked the pool too. They have a few pairs of fins, boogie boards, lawn chairs, beach towels... We usually bring our own snorkeling stuff, but it is good to know it is there. There were lots of things people had bought before under the sink in the master bathroom (I think there was even an aloe/sunburn product as well as sunblock/mouthwash, so check if you forget something.) We didn't have trouble with bugs when we put food away. As a townhome, it did put the kids away so we could stay up if we wanted to downstairs. The master bedroom was large with a beautifully tiled shower and a soaking tub. (With shampoo and soap!) There were three large portable air conditioning units with vent tubing to the windows. I think having the central A/C on would be crazy expensive because people wouldn't be mindful to turn the thermostat up when going out and the high electricity costs are some of the highest in the nation--there is no reason to keep it cool when you aren't there. (That's partly why you stay in a condo and not a resort--save $$.) It was a surpise, but as long as the bathroom window was closed during the day and evening, the two units running upstairs, from evening to morning kept the bedrooms comfortable. We ran the downstairs unit less as the main floor stayed cooler--and we turned it off when we were out all day--they do have timers that you can set. (I think they are inverters, so make sure you use the snowflake mode and not heater or fan--that confused me at one point.) We saw the same type of a/c unit at a different condo we stayed in, and it worked fine as well, but that place only gave us one--glad we were there in the spring and not summer! When we arrived, the cleaner left the bathroom window open, and unfortunately the hot air really came in off the shingled roof. We were kind of panicked at first---that it would be too hot to sleep, but it worked out fine, once we kept that window closed! less

Great Kona Vacation

This is a beautiful condo in an excellent location. The unit is very clean and well maintained. KTA grocery store, CVS Drug store and a number of shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the unit. 5 Star Stay!

We spent a week at Na Hale O Keauhou (NHOK), unit K-2 in mid-August of 2021. This unit was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and perfectly maintained. NHOK has perfectly landscaped grounds and is located in close proximity (walking distance) to KTA grocery store, Long's drug... more store, and a number of shops and restaurants. It has gate controlled access, a pool/hot tub/kids pool, and a nice (air conditioned!) gym with cardio and weights - all on site a few steps away! We have stayed at NHOK several other times in other units at this complex and K-2 is by far our top choice - perfect location, quiet, clean, and well appointed. I highly recommend this property and am looking forward to our next visit. less

Everything You Need To Be Renewed

We go to the islands frequently and this condo was one of our favorites we've ever stayed in. It is full of thoughtful, comfortable well taken care of space that offers refreshing views of the water from both Lani's. We loved grabbing morning pastries from the KTA, snorkeling (walking distance) at the beach, and spent many days at Magic's beach. The short .3 mile walk to the grocery store and fruit stand is worth it just for the view. My kids loved the pool and we appreciated the clean workout gym and hot tub. Along a fabulous walking/running/cycling path in Ali'i Drive. A short 4-5 mile drive into Kona gives more food options and shopping. We would absolutely love to stay here again. less

Aloha

We have been staying at Na Hale for the past 6 or 7 years trying a different condo when possible. Our stay in K-2 was fine. We did indeed encounter many, many mosquitos. We never left doors or screens open welcoming them! The shower and... more toilet for the guest bedroom plugged. It was quickly handled by the attendant for the condo. Amenities were fine but would suggest paper plates be added along with aluminum foil. We also did purchase 2 umbrellas which we believe are needed for the beach and left them in the garage. The biggest surprise we found was the inability to lower the thermostat for the AC below 72 degrees after all we did pay an additional $15/day to have AC. Mahalo less

The location is out of kona town just enough to be quite and serene while giving you the option for a quick drive or 20 minute walk into town. Great comfortable stay in a lovely condo

My family of four (kids ages 4 and 6) had a great stay at this condo. It is very large and clean, nicely furnished, had comfortable beds, large bathrooms and ample parking. It had beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, which was very handy. The lanai... more was nice and the grass was great for the kids to run around while we barbecued. The pool was a few steps away which was very convenient. Very quiet and peaceful. It is located very close to a KTA supermarket and a short drive to the Sheraton (where you can see Manta Rays at night) and near the dock for the dolphin discovery snorkel tour. Nice condo!

We spent the week at your lovely condo. It had all of the amenities that we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Nice

I stayed with my husband and two daughters, ages 3 and 10 months. Everything was nice and clean but not so kid friendly. I had a hard time bathing my girls because none of the shower heads are detachable. So I had to bathe them... more in the bath tub, which wasn't easy. Plus the water would go down the drain so slow when showering. We did find what look like tiny ants in the master bathroom by the sink. Once I cleaned that up, they never returned. This is a very nice townhouse. I loved that it didn't have any tacky decor. I would recommend this home to those without kids. less

Lovely Vacation

We had a lovely time staying in Townhome K-2. My husband and I have stayed in other condos at Na Hale O Keauhou when we were vacationing with other couples. This year, since we were alone, we chose K-2 since it was a two-bedroom townhome.... more There is a little bit of "noise" from the pool (pleasant, kids-playing noise) and some traffic noise from the road that runs in front of the property. Initially, I thought that would bother me. After one or two days, I was used to it and it caused no problems (I am VERY sensitive to noises.) I believe that K-2 is the nicest townhome that we have stayed in at the property. It was appropriately clean, appropriately appointed, convenient, private, and comfortable. We are also very sensitive to cleanliness and felt that the owners and others who care for the home must take very special care to keep everything very clean and in working order. We were extremely pleased and very happy that we chose K-2 to spend our two-week vacation. Thank you so much and we do hope to come back. less

Perfect for our needs

not a bad place to stay

Very comfortable townhouse, has a large kitchen with all the necessary goodies. Very nice patio/lanai with a distant view of the ocean. Nice grounds, pool etc. Only complaint was from the wife who felt the stairs were steep. Little spendy, we stayed at a three bedroom in the same complex last year at the same time of the year with our two adult kids and it was actually cheaper. Everything about this rental experience was outstanding.The owner/manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the condo is modern and well maintained, and the views are magnificent. Everything you might need in the kitchen and bath is provided (dishes, small appliances, towels, etc.). You have a three-minute... more walk to the pool, a five-minute drive to a shopping center (with super market, drug store and several good restaurants) and about a 15-minute drive to the downtown Kona shops and beaches. You're well away from the hubbub and crowds of downtown, yet centrally located to everything. This was my second stay in the Na Hale O Keauhou complex, and both were exceptional. I am 70 years old and have pretty much traveled the world; I do not give rave reviews unless they are warranted. This place is worth a rave. less

Loved the condo, would stay again

Stayed for 5 days (2 adults/1 teen). The condo is very spacious, bright, clean, fully equipped (incl beach gear). Very comfortable and homey. There is one minor thing that could be improved. A/C is weak; it is strong in master bdrm, but weak in other... more areas; while MB gets too cold, other areas are not cold enough. The owners ask to turn off A/C when not in condo. We did that when we went to visit Volcano for 2 days; after we returned tired and ready for bed, the temp in the condo was 90+, took almost 12 hrs to come down to 78. So much better than a Motel/Hotel

If you are looking into staying at least a week, this is the way to go. We felt so much more comfortable in this town home than any other hotel/motel we have ever stayed in.
