Sunsets galore

The condo was exactly what we wanted. We have stayed in this development twice before so we’re familiar with the area. The condo is decorated tastefully and reflects its location. Everything you need is there. Highly recommend.

Thank you, Michael. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Kipa Mai, Aloha, Bill and Pattie Woolsey.

As advertised

The unit was perfect for two couples with its two king beds and en suite bathrooms. It's very quiet and the view off the deck is just as pictured overlooking the 2nd fairway of the Kona golf course with the ocean behind the green. Not that it mattered but the bedrooms are on the ground floor with the living area upstairs. The nice thing is you don't share a floor or ceiling with another unit. It has a very well equipped kitchen with assorted spices and oils, foil, plastic wrap and a few condiments and salad dressings to help avoid some expense. Check the inventory before you shop. There is a huge pickleball and tennis complex on the property. We didn't use it but it looked very inviting. There are several pools (with hot tubs) to choose from as well as grills centrally located around the grounds. Its a 20 minute drive into downtown Kona and 10 minutes to a full service grocery store. Our impression is this is the side of the island to stay on this location is a great balance of being in a quiet location but not far from dining and things to see and do. less

Thank you for your review! Would love to host you again. Pattie and Bill

Great stay!

This condo is is the most beautiful and quiet spot that you can imagine. You can watch golfers, Black Crowned Night Herons and many other beautiful birds right from the second story lanai while drinking coffee, beer or a mai tai (BYO)! Plus the sunset is gorgeous from here as well. It is close to shopping and good restaurants too! It’s really comfortable with many amenities and the resort grounds and pools are lovely. We would definitely come back. less

Beautiful home in quiet space

We love Mauna Loa units because the units comprise both the upstairs and downstairs. The location is ideal if you are looking for quiet surroundings. Easy walk to the harbor, the Outrigger, and the grocery store. This unit has a wonderful view from the upstairs lanai. We had an excellent time. less

To much noise

We recently stayed in this townhouse and found it very comfortable and pleasant. It was well stocked and everything worked except a set of blinds that we couldn’t close and would of helped with the sun in the afternoon and privacy in the evenings. The unit advertised it had two umbrellas, but could not be found so we purchased one and left it for other guests to enjoy. The reason for the poor rating is the resort owners chose to completely demolish four of the five units in our building. We had construction on both sides of us 14 of the 16 days we stayed. From 8am to 5:30 every day. It’s very hard to enjoy an afternoon drink on the lanai when you have a saw going 20 ft away from you. We have been coming to Hawaii for over 20 years and have experienced renovations in the past but this was hell. After confronting the resort with the noise they seemed to show very little sympathy to our situation and said that the owners are told of future renovations and when they are to start renovations by there unit. I can’t say with great certainty if the owners were aware, but if they did it would of helped knowing what we were getting into before we arrived. Worst experience in Hawaii by far, and will never stay at this resort again. less

Owner/Manager Response

Dear Don - Thank you for your review. We are glad you found our home comfortable and well stocked. As to the terribly intrusive renovation, we can only imagine how irritating that must have been! Mauna Loa Village has been working on a major renovation of all their timeshare units for well over a year. Many delays and problems with permitting have delayed the project. It is shocking that anyone from the resort would say we were told when renovations would begin near our unit. We left Kona in November and at that time the manager thought it could be another 6 months before they got to our building. Trust me, I have truly tried to stay on top of this and was shocked to hear they were already working on Building 11. We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. Please give the Village another chance. Normally it is a quiet, serene environment. Best regards, Bill and Pattie.

Great condo!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this condo and consider ourselves super-lucky for this condo to be available for our stay! We enjoyed picture-perfect view of the ocean and golf course from the lanai every morning. Condo had all the amenities we needed, including beach gear. Very spacious rooms, especially living room. Super clean and well-maintained. Communication with Pattie and Bill was timely and simple. We really recommend this condo, one of the best experiences we've had with renting from a private host. less

Spacious condo!

Three of us had a lovely stay in this huge condo. 2 large bedrooms with 2&1/2 baths. The living room opens up to a lanai with views of the golf course & ocean. Lovely place to watch the sunset. Conveniently located just south of the downtown area & walking distance to the Manta ray excursions. less

Cono #11-70 Mauna Loa Village Kailua-Kona

Although we often walked by this resort for many years, this was our first stay.We certainly felt very fortunate with our choice of this unit; it is clean, bright and cheerful, island-flavoured in decor, and everything in running order. We stayed pretty close to "home" for much of our 5 week stay, and enjoyed the lanai, to the maximum - ate every at home meal out there, enjoying golf, sunsets, whales, and luau music from the Outrigger Hotel. Communication with the owners was easy, prompt and accommodating. We highly recommend this unit. less

Well appointed and great location

This unit was well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Beautifully decorated. View from living room and lanai was fabulous with the golf course and ocean view. Bed was very comfortable and location of unit was great.

Lovely spot

We had a lovely time in the condo, it has beautiful view and all the amenities to make your stay very pleasant and comfortable. Pattie and Bill are great hosts.

Amazing Views

We had an amazing time in Kona! Bedrooms were nice and spacious as were the bathrooms. We had all the amenities that we needed to cook, clean and live as if we were in our own home. The best part was spacious living room with views that looked out towards the golf course, the mountains and the ocean! There are many days mom just wanted to sit there and look out the window at the beautiful scenery and read one of the many books that are on the shelves. They were many pools to use as well as barbecues. Another plus for this location is there are no parking fees and no resort fees! less

Great Goof Course Condo

We had a wonderful time at this lovely 2 bedroom condo conveniently located and easy to get to. The golf course views were beautiful. Our friends stayed at The Sheraton resort directly behind us so it was a short walk either way. The condo was well equipped and the bedrooms were large and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much!! less

11-70

We enjoyed our stay, lovely property. Beautiful views from the upstairs with lovely sunsets, comfortable seating. The beds were not comfortable. Although we only used the master bedroom, both mattresses were the same, stained, very old and hard as a board. The master mattress pad was not clean, it also had stains and we had to washed it. New mattresses & bedding would make all the difference! Also, there were no bath mats for the tubs. They were quite slippery. less

— Eleanor, Stayed 01/19/2020

Owner/Manager Response

Dear Eleanor - We were sorry to read you felt our firm mattresses were not comfortable. We have been told most visitors enjoy firm over soft. The mattress covers are new, but we will be sure to check that they are washed each time someone leaves. We appreciate your feedback and are happy you enjoyed your stay. Aloha, Pattie & Bill

The best condo in Kona-Keauhou area

We spent 8 nights here before Christmas. The unit is clean and well maintained. We have stayed at 10 units of condos in Kona area and feel this is one of the best. The view from Lanai is gorgeous and the 180degrees of view includes the sea, the golf course, and Mount Hualalai. It is also good to have five swimming pools with jacuzzis. This is the condo we really recommend. less

— Masashi, Stayed 01/03/2020

Wonderful

We spent 12 nights here. Everything shown in the photos is accurate. The home & location are excellent for relaxing or using as a base while visiting all different parts of the island. Communication between Aloha Condos was clean and simple, before, during & after. Highly recommend. less
