This place has everything you need to enjoy yourself. The kitchen is completely stocked, there are beach coolers, chairs etc to take advantage of. Nice unit / spacious

Well stocked unit with all the little extras (ex Tupperware ) Nice comfortable furnishings Good location for exploring South Island and quick trips to town ( although mall close by has most everything you would need ). Great bang for the buck

Over all we were happy to stay in this condo. The kitchen has everything you need. Only need replaced the old small pan. The bed is comfortable but pillows are thin. I like there are a lot of storage in the kitchen, has a cooler... more to take drinks to the beach. The condo has Netflix which was good for our son to watch some days. The A/C is working well only the bedroom A/C has smell after you turn on for a few minutes, but we don't really use it because we stay in December and it wasn't hot. The resort location is great - close to grocery stores (Costco, Walmart, Safeway etc.), restaurants, beaches, Kona airport. The condo location is great too-very quiet, far from pools 3 min, the lanai facing to the golf fields, so it was nice scene while we had breakfast outside. The bathroom is spacious and everything worked well, no smell, no problem with sinks or toilet, many towels. Thank you Rita to keep price affordable and we were happy to find this condo, we will definitely come back again. less

Wonderful!

Condo 5-102 was perfect for our island getaway. The condo has everything you need and more to make your stay enjoyable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, spacious bathroom and kitchen. Awesome Again

I have stayed here multiple times, and have enjoyed it every time. The Condo is clean, and well appointed. The important things to me are a comfortable bed and an updated or well kept bathroom. This Condo has both. The bed was so comfortable for... more me, that I wanted to check the brand name to get one when I replace my own, but I forgot. The bathroom was remodeled from the original build, I believe, and it felt fresh. The kitchen is also fresh, but it’s not that important to me as I don’t always cook while I’m on vacation. But if you do, it has everything you would need. Only thing I can complain about is that there are no beach chairs to use. There are mats and beach towels, but I prefer to use chairs. less

Very Pleasant and comfortable

Overall condo atmosphere was great

This condo area was by far the best atmosphere we’ve stayed. Most condos have so many strict rules, and with having boys, it was important to us that they could have “fun!” (We’ve stayed areas that they couldn’t even throw a football in the grass,... more and got yelled at in the swimming pool!) The amenities were open until 11 pm and had their own restaurant. The actual condo that we stayed in was ok, definitely needs a little updating, and there was no BBQ on the lanai like pictured or in the welcome book, (which was a big bummer since that was one of our requirements!) there was several community bbqs but we never used them with it being a little bit of a hassle. Overall it was ok, with it being the bottom condo, and no view, we most likely would not choose to stay there again, but served it’s purpose and the owner was quick at responding. less

A gem in paradise

We have been traveling to Kona for years. Kona is our happy place. My father has a time share at the Kona Coast where we have stayed multiple times. Recently my husband and I wanted a get-a-way. Out of curiousity, I check VRBO. We hit... more the jackpot when we found 5-102. Very reasonably priced and we were able to stay for 8 nights! Very clean, kitchen is well stocked, new washing machine/dryer, coolers for beach, pool toys and so much more. The bed was super comfortable too. They have a screened in lani which I had never seen before. A wonderful place for a space to read and relax. We will definitely be staying here again. Can’t wait for our next adventure. Great vacation, except for...

Had a great stay...condo was great. Couple things would have made the rating 5 - the bedroom a/c worked great, but not so much in the living room and it’s needed being that Kona is so hot. Biggest annoyance which prevented us from enjoying the... more expected “great view” and “private patio” was that we stayed indoors with the curtains drawn most of the time because of the renovation/construction that was going on with the condo above us. The workers made quite a bit of noise going up and down, constantly passing the front living room area, and hanging out in front of the patio area too. We were really expecting to enjoy everything the place offered, with some peace and quiet, especially with the kids. Not trying to be antisocial, just trying to enjoy family time without the distractions. Other than that, looking forward to returning someday. Mahalo! less

Wonderful Condo! 5-102 Kona Coast Resort

Not only are the Resort's grounds and amenities impeccable, but Condo 5-102 is, hands down, the nicest condo I've ever stayed in. Not only is is well-appointed and decorated, but it has a huge open living/dining space, and a monstrously big bathroom with separate tub... more and walk-in shower and double sinks which, undoubtedly, have saved a few marriages during a Kona vacation (!) And kudos, too, for the king-sized pillow-top bed, which was a pure delight. Rita and Randy also deserve a lot of credit for their thoughtful inclusion of toiletries to which my husband has now become addicted (Organix, anyone?!) Basically, not only is this condo well decorated and designed tastefully, but also with a lot of thought and care, and I cannot speak highly enough not only of KCR's maintenance of the property, but also Rita and Randy's particular care and thoughtfulness of their guests. less

Lovely stay

As frequent visitors to the Big Island, we always look for places that offer good value, good location, clean, quiet and have enough room to relax. We were pleasantly pleased with this condo. It is all of the above and more. Communicating with the owner... more was easy and responsive. The condo was stocked with all kinds of extras. The welcome basket was a nice touch! The KCR is a nice complex, especially for families. As a gentle reminder to guests it would be great if a note was left in the condo on what days the groundskeepers are working. (Then we could plan our time to be out of the condo and away from the adult pool.. as it is kind of loud.) One item we missed having in the condo were beach chairs. Rita, We had such a wonderful time in Paradise! This condo was perfect in every way possible! It had everything we could possibly want or need. Super roomy with two lanai's, one of them even screened in. A large bedroom with lots of closet and... more drawer space. A full kitchen with all appliances, dishes, utensils, even spices! Our Annual Home Away from Home....

We have stayed in Unit 5-102 at the Kona Coast for two successive summers and we look forward to going again next year! The unit is very clean and has every amenity you can think of! Once you open the door, there is a beautiful... more tropical fruit basket waiting with the best pineapple I have ever eaten. The unit already has the air conditioning going and it was a welcome relief from the very hot climate. The kitchen has a full size fridge and all the cabinets are stocked with everything you need to make meals for the family. The full size washer and dryer was the best convenience to ensure that we could pack very lightly and still have enough clothes and swimwear for our vacation. The bathroom is very large with a walk in shower separate from the tub. The vanity area has two sinks which allowed me to get ready without hogging it all up to myself. The linen closet has lots of extras like shampoo, sunscreen, insect repellant and towels. The bedroom has a large closet with a CA king bed and a lovely Hawaiian quilt. There is a small TV in the room, though we didn't use it much. There is a great sound system and TV in the living room. One of the best features is the enclosed lanai where you can drink your morning coffee and take in the fresh Hawaiian air without being totally attacked by the mosquitos! I highly recommend this unit and look forward to booking it again! less

A Pleasant Unit

We stayed almost a month in this one bedroom unit. Rita was very responsive to our needs. The unit is fairly spacious for a one bedroom, the bath is very large and bedroom roomy. We stayed without air and needed a couple extra fans, but... more it was comfortable once we acclimated. The furniture is comfortable and the lanai adequately large with its own gas BBQ. There is a mongoose den just across the grass from the lanai which kept Annabel fascinated. The fans in the kitchen and on the lanai wobble when on, which is disconcerting, but they seem to work. Use the server for the resort owner's WIFI, the resort's visitor server WIFI is very slow. We had a very pleasant stay. All in all a fair value. less

More Amazing than expected!!

The pictures and description did not do this condo justice. The bathroom was spacious and had a great shower layout. The entry is private (and hidden for those trying to find it the first time) and the unit is well shaded to keep cool. We... more loved having the ability to cook our own food and not depend on looking for restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped and the BBQ was ready to go. Everything was very clean. I have visited Hawaii many times and cockroaches were always around. I did not see any during this stay. The lanai's (yes 2 of them) were great for lounging after hanging out at the beach. Ali'i Drive is the primary run along the beach front and into downtown. Everything is close. Across the street is a shopping center that will help with quick pickups although we found Safeway to be the most economical way to shop. The AC was not needed. Just opened the front and rear doors and the breeze was sufficient. Kona is a lava field and the scenery is very unique. Drive to the Hilo side and experience the rain forest feel. Kona is the sunny, arid side of the big island and is beautiful for everything that it is. Wear sunblock when outside. After using this condo I will always try to avoid hotel rentals. This unit is a very beautiful, well cared for unit and anyone visiting the big island should consider this rental. It is much better than the pictures lead on. FYI: Google directions were not accurate; however, the directions provided in the confirmation email were accurate. less

Best location for the local experience

I couldn't believe how awesome this place was! It's a little resort that has a pool (actually has several pools, including an adult pool) with a bar that serves food and drinks poolside. It's not in the pool, but on the side with a rail,... more so you can kick back and watch your family splash about while you sip on a piña colada. You can even rent chairs and boogie boards for the beach! There was a sweet hula event with the local elementary school on the property with light refreshments which was a nice surprise. The condo is located right across the street (literally!) from KTa Supermarket and a CVS in the same lot, you really just can't ask for more convenient location. The Poké there is amazing, so not leave without grabbing some. It's the perfect place to run in and get the picnic essentials before hitting the beach 10 minutes down the road...and oh, the choices...! Magic Sands is so beautiful and barely a 5 minute drive. Best boogie boarding and sun soaking spot in the area. Kahaluu beach was only 10 minutes away and offered the best snorkeling we had on the entire trip. Another 5 minutes away is the town where wonderful restaurants and shops are scattered all over alii drive. We went to the little street market past the mall for cheap and sweet fruit ($1 papayas!!!) every single day to stock up on more fruit and souvenirs. There was so much to do, but it was fine to lounge around on the sand and do the opposite... This location couldn't be better and I was coming down the coast from the Four Seasons Hualalai. I didn't regret the change in the least and was happy I did! It's a cozy, clean home with retro decor, think 80's, but definitely comfortable with its big kitchen, patio and BBQ. Not much of a view, but you don't need it when you really should be outside anyway. The only con: the bathroom has poor ventilation, but there was a tower fan that we just used basically all the time and there was no problem. Would definitely return in a heartbeat. less

Worth the Money

This is a very nice condo and is well equipped for your visit. Just bring a bathing suit because everything else is there. Fantastic Luxury Condo Stay

Space, that's what this condo is about. This condo was luxurious, clean, and had all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen was very well equipped. It has two patios, with a great ground level view of the golf course green. I found the... more entire condo spacious and beautifully decorated. There was a TV in the living room and one in the bedroom. There were instructions for almost everything. The WiFi took a little doing to get connected to, but once done it worked fine. The parking was sometimes a challenge in that you cannot park in the garage, nor in front of it. Sometimes I had to walk a ways from the guest parking. They had a dust buster in the laundry area which would have been great for small pick-ups but I couldn't seem to get it to work. All in all it is a great condo and I would stay there again. less

Awesome!

Beautiful Condo!

Just a note to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at your condo. It is so very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed setting on the lanai drinking our morning coffee, while watching all the birds, looking at the beautiful flowers and green golf course.Loved... more the pool, and restaurant area with the ocean view! The location is great, close to the shopping center which is great fun to take a stroll through on a cool evening.Hope to come back some time soon! Thank you for a great relaxing vacation! less

Exceeded our expectations

Everything possible was provided in this unit and at the resort. It was as if every need was anticipated. Great location and the best sunsets around. A wonderful value. Private and Convenient.

We always bring our daughter and our granddaughter from the mainland to Hawaii, where we live, every year. And we always drive over to Kona for a mini-vacation so our granddaughter can get her fill of swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and boogie-boarding. We usually stay in... more an ocean-front unit but this time, in order to save some money, stayed in this unit at the Kona Coast Resort. We didn't have a view of the ocean from our lanai but it didn't matter. The swimming pool with its great casual restaurant and bar was a block away, the shopping center was a block from the resort, Kailua's best snorkel beach was a half mile away and the boogie boarding was a couple of miles away. The unit, quite modern and new, was well-appointed, spacious and immaculate. We were still finding neat things in cupboards and closets on our last day. The twin lanais overlooking the fairway were very private and much-used. Being at ground level was a plus in not having to lug suitcases and coolers up the stairs. We did not need the staff but the few we passed were friendly and courteous. One chauffered us to the pool in his golf cart when we didn't know where it was. We would stay there again. less
