Amazing Condo

Spectacular Location and Sunset View

My family of 4 stayed in this condo over the New Year (during COVID) and it was a wonderful refuge. If you are even hesitating about which condo to book, whether the unit or the complex, you should absolutely jump at the chance to book... more this unit. The setting is stunning, the condo itself has every possible amenity you could want (we joked that it was better stocked than our own home), and the location is perfect. We were mainly there for surfing, diving, and snorkeling. The access to the two beaches up the road, minutes from the complex was perfect. We ate all our meals on the lanai because even though we have not eaten in a restaurant in 9 months, we cannot imagine a better setting. The water is literally 2 meters from the condo and you can hear the surf at all times - so soothing. We left the doors open all the time and enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle. The pool was also quite nice for kids and the tennis courts were fabulous (lit until 10 pm). The gardens/landscaping was like a botanical garden. As you can see, I loved this place and I am a pretty harsh critic. less

Wonderful!

This is a lovely place to stay! It is right on the ocean, but more than that, it's very well set up and maintained. Love the decor, the colors, the furniture - all very cozy. Also impeccably cleaned! Awesome. Loved it.

The ocean is right there! The view and sound of the ocean is unobstructed and private. We felt that we were the only ones there. Kudos to the owners as it is very well appointed. They have provided pretty much everything you need for indoor... more and beach living. It is NOT set up sparsely like a typical rental. We really enjoyed the location as it is close to shopping and activities and not too far from the town of Kailua-Kona. There is a great swimming beach about a half mile away and just another mile north was a beach that was perfect for boogie boarding with great breaking waves. We were able to enjoy a few sunsets and sat on the lanai in the dark evening when the moon wasn't out listening to the waves crash on the rocks just feet away. Great location, uncomfortable lanai furniture

Perfect getaway

I just wrapped up a wonderful, relaxing stay in KKSRC unit 1-202 - my favorite unit of several I've stayed in over the last 5 years. This unit is clean, recently updated, well-stocked with everything you'll need, and perfectly located on the ocean and close... more to the BBQ pavillian. Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club, Condo 1-202

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the condo! The condo was in great shape and in a beautiful location and is well supplied with nearly everything we needed for the stay such as beach chair, umbrellas, coffee maker, kitchen supplies, rice maker, etc.... more We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the lanai for happy hour and watching the sunset - perfect location for that! I will forward this link to my wife who I am sure will also want to provide a review. I have a few opportunities for improvement that I saw and thought I would pass on are: (1) ensure that there are adequate convenience supplies - such as toilet paper and body soap. For a 10 day stay, 2 rolls of toilet paper and half of a container of body wash are not sufficient. Folks paying >$200/night for a stay generally aren't accustomed to the inconvenience of having to take time to shop for these items. (2) potentially switch to white towels that can be bleached or clean the existing towels in a manner to remove the mold/mildew smell. We noticed that as soon as the towels got wet they had a moldy/mildew smell. We alleviated this to a certain degree by hanging the towels on the lanai where they dried faster and washing them after just a few uses. Thank you for helping make our stay in Hawaii wonderful! We will be back! BTW - this was our second stay at this condo and I'm sure it will be a target for us if available on our next visit! - Dave Young less

Great vacation

Our family of 5 had a great week long stay for our first trip to BI. Wall to wall views and sounds of the ocean to wake to and fall asleep to. There is no AC but the ocean breezes and the fans kept things... more comfortable and we were usually at the pool during the hottest time of day. A Perfect Visit

We had a fantastic stay at your condo. Everything that you could anticipate we could need was available. We used your snorkel equipment, beach chairs, etc. You had virtually every beach accessory imaginable. Beautiful vacation rental

We just returned from our sixth visit to this particular condo. As evidenced by our loyalty, we love it! The condo itself is lovely and tastefully appointed. It has every convenience you would need for relaxing, playing tennis, or going to the beach. The kitchen... more is well appointed which makes it easy to cook or reheat meals. The best feature of the condo, in my opinion, is the beautiful lanai overlooking the ocean. We eat most of our meals there, and spend much of our time enjoying the tranquility, listening to the waves, and watching the beautiful sunsets. The condo is located perfectly. There is a strip mall about a quarter-mile away with restaurants, grocery store, and a pharmacy. In the other direction, it is only a few miles to downtown Kona. There are excellent snorkeling spots in both directions. As with all places on the Big Island, a car rental is essential to make the most out of your trip. It is about one hour north so the resorts and beaches on Kohala and about two hours south to the volcano. I can't say enough about the responsiveness of the owners and the obvious care and attention that they pay to this unit. It is consistently updated, modern, and clean. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you should! We hope to continue returning for years to come. less

We had a great stay in this unit. great location, great unit! The view of the ocean is really nice, and so close, and were falling asleep and waking-up to the sound of the waves.... Perfect Hawaiian holiday

We were lucky enough to spend four nights in Unit 1-202 at the Surf and Raquet Club this month. The condo is wonderful- nicely updated and stocked with everything you could possibly want for a vacation. The pool is lovely, the BBQ facilities make outdoor... more cooking so easy, and sitting on the lanai listening to the surf at night is very soothing! We used the excellent snorkeling equipment at a nearby beach. The Club is located just south of the hustle and bustle of Kona- easy to get to, but far enough away to avoid traffic. Splendid Stay

Our seven-day stay was splendid. We found the condo very comfortable and it was stocked with everything we needed. All we had to do was buy some food and drink and we settled in for a wonderfully restful holiday. The unit was clean, well maintained... more and beautifully furnished. It was exactly what we wanted and needed. One suggestion I would make is to put rubber feet on the lanai furniture including the loungers. I am a 5'1" woman who had to be very careful getting onto the high chairs as they tended to slip on the tile floor. Also, I had to stand by when my adult disabled son got on or off the chairs and loungers because of the sliding chair legs. It certainly didn't stop us from enjoying the condo, but it did curtail our spending more time on the lanai. Aloha!! less

7 night stay

My two adult children and I spent a wonderful week at KKSR. Lauralee's directions to get to the complex and into the condo were very complete and easy to follow. The condo was very spacious and wonderfully equipped. The kitchen was very roomy and provided... more all necessary tools, appliances, etc. I appreciated the various spices and condiments left by other renters. We used the snorkel equipment, boogie boards, chairs, noodles and coolers. There was even a collapsible wagon to haul all the beach stuff if needed. The beds were quite comfortable. The lanai was huge and I enjoyed sitting out there with my coffee each morning. It was also nice to have multiple drying racks for our damp towels and swimsuits. Thanks for providing binoculars and a Hawaii Revealed guide book. The condo is less than half a mile from Kahaluu Beach Park, which has some very nice shore-based snorkeling. There is a KTA supermarket very close by for easy grocery shopping. And the condo is just a few miles from Kailua-Kona for restaurants, etc. I would definitely recommend unit 1-202 at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club. less

Great Start to Our Stay

Our family of three adults and three kids stayed at this condo for the first leg of our two week visit to the Big Island. It kicked us off right. First, you should know we arrived just before midnight after 20 hours of travel. So... more I would have been in no condition or mood to struggle with complicated check ins or disappointment. Thankfully, we had neither. Directions and access were clear and easy, and we entered the condo just before midnight. First impression - wow, it was spotless. I can't praise the cleaning crew enough. Second, we found a lovely fruit basket and tote welcoming us which improved the prospects for the next morning's breakfast. We quickly moved in, and went to bed that first night, and the sound of the surf outside (you will want to keep the doors open, even if just a crack) gave us all a good night's rest. The location is wonderful, groceries within an easy walk (KTA Supermarket), and you are close to everything but not crowded at all. Easy trips to Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau and other sites and beaches, or you can just laze at the condo on the lanai. The property is beautiful. Grounds are kept spotless and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the lanai, and spotted a few whales in the distance. The condo itself seems more spacious than the square footage implies, and we six never felt cramped. Lots of conveniences like shampoo and body wash dispensers in the showers, a very nice and functional kitchen, lots of supplies. I highly recommend this property. Some criticisms just so you know this is a real review and not a put up job: the coverlet in the Master Bedroom was old and needs to be replaced, and the coffee maker didn't work (but the French Press that was provided did just fine for us). Obviously neither of these things impacted our stay, and I'm sure they won't affect yours, either (they probably will be taken care of now that I've mentioned them - the place was spotless, did I mention that?) less

Amazing condo

One of the best condos I ever stayed in. Spacious, very clean and in every regard above the standard. The kitchen was great (so many kitchen utensils, spices, pots, pans, etc), it felt like home. Loved it!

I took my parents to Hawaii for a vacation and had a fantastic time. My father has been to Hawaii more than ten times, but this was by far his favorite visit. I highly recommend staying in this great location. We will definitely be back!

Lovely, comfortable condo in a beautiful location.

This is a great condo. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a fun stay. They even provided snorkel and beach gear (although we had our own so didn't use it.) The location is perfect, right on the water,... more beautiful views from the lanai. Also condo is very close to a shopping center with grocery store, pharmacy, and multiple restaurants. Nearby harbor is take-off point for several snorkel tours. You can walk to nearby beach. The condo was well-equipped. We didn't really cook - but the kitchen appeared to have everything that would be needed. There is no AC in the unit and it can get warm in the afternoons - it is important to shut the blinds to keep the sun out if you are going to be away from the condo during the day. But things cool off nicely in the evening. Two suggestions: 1. get different blinds in the bedroom on the mountain side of the condo - when there is a light on in the room and it is dark outside it is quite easy to see everything in that room. And they didn't block out enough of the morning light - making that room rather warm all the time. 2. Please get a larger trashcan in the kitchen. We were regularly taking the bag out of the can and sitting it on the floor so that we could fill the bag to capacity. Overall we loved the condo and would gladly stay there again in the future. Fantastic holiday getaway

We spent 11 nights of our summer break at the surf and racquet club, absolutely brilliant. The apartment had pretty much everything we could ask for - in addition to the fully equipped kitchen, we were pleasantly surprised by the beach chairs and boogie boards.... more The supermarket was right next door, and all locations in Kona were a short drive away. Easy ocean access from the condo area would have been a great plus, but the closest beach was anyway only a 10 minute walk away. Loved the sunsets from the lanai! less

Excellent stay

Location was great as it allowed easy access to everything on the Kona Coast, but without needing to stay in the really busy sections. The condo was fully supplied from linens to beach equipment. Even had a set of binoculars for each of us to... more view happenings on the ocean. The condo was very clean, and even had an intermediate cleaning half way through our two week stay. The only thing to improve the venue is to put a really nice sandy beach nearby. That said, it would just move the crowds to our backdoor and take away from the peaceful setting. So... instead of a walk to the beach it is a 30 minute drive south, or about 50 minutes north. By the way, there is excellent snorkeling very nearby. less

Great vacation rental - highly recommended.

The Condo at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club #1-202 was perfect for our vacation. We traveled with 2 adult children. Views of the ocean and sunsets were amazing. We saw a school of spinner dolphins right from our lanai. We all loved the nearby... more beach with snorkeling and beginner surfing. All the beach gear we needed was there for us to use: beach towels, snorkel gear, umbrella, coolers and boogie boards. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Pool was clean. Bbq grills right outside the unit were so convenient. The condo had all the comforts of home and everything we could want or need was provided. Chuck and Lauralee were easy to work with setting everything up and were always prompt in answering my questions. Location to Kailua-Kona was a little further than expected but no big deal. This is one of the nicest condos we've ever stayed in. It sits right on the ocean's edge, with waves crashing onto the lava rock below. Perfect oceanfront location!

Aloha Condos provided excellent, clear, and thoughtful service, making it easy to arrive at, enjoy, and depart from this wonderful oceanfront condo. The unit was clean, well organized, and had everything we needed for a stress-free stay. We prefer staying at the end of alii... more Drive and away from the hustle and bustle of Kona, and the Surf & Racquet Club site was just what we wanted. We did not use the pool because we prefer the ocean for a swim. However, we did play tennis on the perfect, well maintained tennis courts every day. We spent a substantial amount of time in early mornings and late evenings on the lanai watching spinner dolphins, outrigger canoes, sunsets, and the full moon over the water. Master bedroom immediately off the lanai was great, but the bed could be exchanged for a more uniformly firm mattress. Learning that electricity runs about 45 cents a kilowatt hour curbed our use of the ceiling fans, but we did use them when we didn't have sufficient breeze to remain cool overnight. Convenient to have the KTa grocery up the hill as well as a few decent restaurants nearby. All in all, this was a great location to enjoy a week celebrating our twentieth anniversary. less

Restful and beautiful

We rented condo 1-202 and it just fit our needs perfectly. The whole rental transaction was super simple. The condo is stocked with everything we needed. A wonderful spot

The Surf and Racquet Club is in a great location. Quiet enough to be restful but close to good dining and grocery shopping. Condo 1-202 was perfect. We had beautiful sunsets and the condo had every amenity necessary for self-catering. We would stay again if... more we get to Kona again and recommend it 100%. less

Best view in Kona!

We stayed at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Condo 1-202 for 4 days in august 2013. The 2nd floor view from the lanai is amazing. The sound of the surf will lull you to sleep each night. Gorgeous sunsets! The condo in great... more condition and very, very clean. Works really well for family of 4-5 persons. The pool is great and has a covered portico for those of us who don't want to sit in the sun. Didn't use the tennis courts but they are in excellent shape. The grounds are manicured and are really lovely. Overall, one of the nicest units and the best complex I have rented. less

Great Stay!

We loved condo 1-202! It was right on the ocean. We enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves. It was very spacious- easily accommodating 2 adults and 2 teens. The kitchen had nice full-size appliances. We also got good use out of the... more boogie boards and fins. Having laundry in the unit was also a plus, as was wi-fi. Only negatives- bed could be slightly more comfortable, and the living room furniture could use some updating. I'd give it 4.5 stars, if I could. I would definitely stay there again! less

Awesome!

We had a delightful stay in Condo 1-202. It is a beautiful 2BR, 2Ba condo that is great for two couples. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is furnished very nicely. The view is killer - we saw some great sunsets... more from the lanai and there is a kind of 'blowhole' in the lava rock that is neat too. We fixed grilled fish on the BBQ a couple of nights and ate on the lanai. The Keauhou shopping center is just a short distance. The Thai food place there is great too. less

A true paradise!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racket Club. The condo was just perfect with everything we need and the view, my God, amazing, right in front of the ocean, what's best to wake up each morning with this... more view!!! It's a very quite location, perfect to stay mellow and also to explore the island. I would recommend this condo to anyone and if we have the chance to come back to Big Island, we will for sure sleep in this wonderful condo! less
