Ocean View Condo 2601
Condo 2601 haas a lovely ocean view & wonderful Lanai for enjoying your morning coffee as you watch whales spout during the winter months. The condo was very clean, with an adequately stocked kitchen as well as beach towels, chairs & umbrellas. It has a... more full sized washer & dryer. It is in a gated well maintained complex. It is close to a grocery store & a nice farmers market and with easy access to all the big island offers. less

Great Condo with a wonderful view of the ocean!
This is a wonderful condo - very nicely decorated and with a fabulous Lanai that looks right out onto the ocean (across the pool). We watched the waves and the whales just sitting and relaxing on the Lanai and walked one building over to take... more incredible sunset pictures.... The air conditioning in each room is well worth the charge and we were very grateful to have it (and you can turn each room on and off separately to conserve energy), as even when it was nice out in December we found it a bit warm and muggy overnight, so that's the only time we really used it. The kitchen has literally everything you could need to cook with, including things like a rice cooker and various oils and spices, so convenient not to have to buy every little thing and we cooked most nights on the BBQ by the pool. There were no problems with the unit at all while we were there but we had phone numbers so we could easily reach someone if there was an issue. Our adult kid found the twin beds in the guest room overly hard and uncomfortable and had to rig up something to try to soften the sleeping area up a bit (ended up sleeping on the comfy couch in the living room instead), but the bed in the master bedroom was heavenly and both bathrooms were just incredible. I felt like we were in a luxury resort for a much better cost and with a kitchen to boot! Kanaloa is quite nice, though I had forgotten that it is essentially a half hour drive if you want to be "in town" for dinner or anything as it is rather far south... - however it IS super close to one of the harbors and big hotels and some great beaches, so we just did everything out of there... There's a grocery store and great restaurants just up the hill so it is a very convenient location overall and a very nice complex with three pools, tennis courts, etc. I highly recommend this unit and would definitely stay again next time I am on the Big Island - though I might consider buying a foam mattress pad from Walmart if I had adults staying in the second room..... less

The condo was very nice and clean. It had a lot of kitchen items that we used to cook. It was so nice that were was beach chairs and umbrella that we used at the beach. Also a cooler. The refrigerator had ice maker which... more was nice. Dishwasher made is nice to enjoy outside as much as possible. The king size bed in the master was nice but the twin beds were hard. We had two adults that were sleeping on them and there was complaints that they were hard and they had hard time sleeping on them. I would recommend this condo because the pool was close and the ocean views were so relaxing. less

We enjoyed our stay in unit 2601 at Kanaloa at Kona. Views are spectacular and unit was clean. Needs updated living room furniture and larger TV in all rooms. We had 2 mice, 1 in kitchen sink and 1 dead in guest bedroom. Ceiling fans... more should be updated also. less

Konaloa Condo 2601
I have stayed in the Konaloa condos multiple times before and have always stayed in one of the units in the 2600 complex, except for one time. Obviously I like the location and amenities that the Konaloa provides. I believe the 2600 complex provides the... more best views in the entire property. You get the beautiful sunsets, ocean and ocean side pool view, which is located very close to these units. The property manager, Tom, was very easy to contact and extremely nice to work with, if an issue arose. We had a couple of issues during our stay in 2601. The first was the DVD player didn't work and Tom had a new one installed the very next day. The dishwasher also didn't work and wasn't replace until the day we were leaving. To be fair, we didn't find out about the dishwasher problem until a week into our 2 week stay and it took 6 days to get a new dishwasher installed. The maintenance dept at the condos were busy and took them several days to install the new appliance after it was delivered. The unit could have been cleaner when we arrived. We were told the housekeeper went on vacation just before our arrival. Tom contacted another housekeeping service and they came in mid-stay and did a great job at that point. Lastly, it seems on any vacation the one thing vacationers are hoping for is a comfortable bed. I would rate the beds in this unit a 5 on a 10 scale. They are VERY firm and don't expect memory foam or pillow top mattresses. All in all, most issues were taken care of quickly and the weather was great. less

Kanaloa at Kona condo 2601
The condo works out great for our family. It’s the second time we have stayed in this unit. We have young grandsons so it’s nice to be close to the pool. The view from the lani is great morning, evening or even in the rain!... more All kinds of beach/pool toys, snorkel gear, cooler and beach umbrella. We love the low key atmosphere at Kanaloa at Kona! less

Beautiful and well maintained

Hello, thank you for our stay at your condo #2601. Beautiful location and grounds. Love the 3 pools and BBQs on the grounds as well. Disappointed that the BBQ right outside of your condo was not working while we were there so we had to... more walk a bit further for cooking. The sunsets from your condo during our stay of Nov 29-Dec 6 was great. Couldn't quite see the whole sunset from your lanai but we just walked to the pool to watch it. Nothing better than a Hawaiian sunset. The kitchen was well stocked however you need sharper knives. Even with the knife sharper you had there, the knives weren't great. Also, new frying pans are needed badly and it would have been great to have some plastic container storage for left over foods and being able to take food out for day trips. A bit larger cooler would also have been great. My husband and I slept in the 2nd bedroom with the twin beds pushed together. Very disappointed in the comfort of the beds. I was extremely sore after sleeping on those beds for a week and couldn't wait to leave because of that. You really need to replace those beds before we would come back. The other couple that stayed in the master bedroom also complained that the bed wasn't great. The security was extremely strict on quiet times as we were told a couple of times while just talking on your lanai to be quiet at exactly 10:00 pm. We understand quiet times and no parties however just talking outside should be allowed. For these reasons, we will only give this condo unit a 3 star. less

Good beach view, fairly priced. Apartment was very clean and well maintained. Water heater was not working the first night, the maintenance guy/owner did their best to fix as soon as possble. Good service! The only problem is the comforter/sheet seemed a bit old

Great Unit, Great Location
Really enjoyed our stay at this location. Great views of the ocean from the Lanai and very easy access to the pool by the ocean. The unit has a well equipped kitchen and loved having the beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler to use. The AC... more is nice for sleeping at night. Allows you to close the windows for a quiet sleep. We had an issue with the internet not working one day and it was quickly addressed. The time flew by and too soon our 2 weeks were over. Love to come back to this spot again less

We stayed 3 weeks at this condo on July 2018. We loved everything. The condo is very spacious, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen has all we needed to cook. We also enjoy the pool in front of the sea. The resort is very calm... more and well maintained. We would like to come back anytime. less

Amazing vacation at Kanaloa at Kona #2601
Our stay was from July 1st through July 11th 2018. We booked our vacation in Nov 2017 and we were so excited. The news media in May through June made the volcano activity on the Island very concerning and we almost cancelled. However upon arriving... more we discovered that would have been a BIG mistake. We even flew over Fissure #8 by helicopter tour and the only part of the Island affected was over in that tiny area. Air quality was better than where we live. The vacation was outstanding and the condo with the beautiful view and everything you needed. Very well stocked and air conditioning an added bonus and very much appreciated. We will definitely plan a return vacation and book this condo. Quiet facilities, very relaxing and we visited many beautiful beaches and drove all over the Island without volcano issues. What a dream vacation. Book this condo, you will not be disappointed. Maholo! 🌴🐢🌺🌿🐳🌸 less

This condo has an amazing view of the ocean from your lanai and just steps away from the ocean pool. It is walking distance to a mall that has boutique shops, a grocery store, post office, restaurants, and a drugstore. We stayed here a few nights while visiting the big island and the condo was much more than we were expecting. It is very spacious and had the comforts of home. We didn't want for anything! Wonderful Condo - Wonderful Location!
My husband, sister, brother-in-law, and I stayed at this condo for four days in March 2018. What a wonderful place! The condo was top notch! It was well furnished; had a well-stocked kitchen; two private bedrooms; and two beautiful bathrooms. It has a large lanai... more that looks out over the swimming pool and the ocean. A terrific view, and we spent most of our time when we were at the condo sitting on the lanai enjoying the view! The owner also has provided a cooler and beach chairs which we loaded into the car and took with us on our excursions... very much appreciated! Tom, the local contact person, was very helpful when I had any questions. I highly recommend this unit... you will not be disappointed! Mahalo - - Lyla less

First of all the rental process was easy and anyone we dealt with at Aloha Condos was very accommodating. The location of the condo was perfect for us. It was very nice and well maintained, and was furnished with everything we needed and then some.... more The view from the lanai was beautiful. The surroundings were beautiful as well. Our only negatives were that the living room furniture was uncomfortable. I think the sofa needs to be replaced. Also, the maid didn’t show up to clean the unit. I contacted the owner he said he would arrange for us to be reimbursed. We enjoyed our stay there very much and would rent that condo again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful condo. less

Well equipped, clean, great for kids
We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. We went with our small kids and the condo was perfect for them. Thank you for having a crib and a high chair, it really made a huge difference. Your housekeeping crew does an amazing job, the... more condo could not have been cleaner. For us it was a perfect location - close to the pool, quiet, and close to a grocery store. Kitchen had all the cookware, appliances, and utensils to make cooking a breeze. WiFi was excellent. We had to work a bit while we were there so that was huge. The only downside for me was the bed, it might be time to update it. We really hope to come back to Kona very soon and will certainly stay in the unit again and recommend it to our friends. less

Our stay was perfect.
We had all we needed. Every thing was great! Our only two small suggestions are. The first is for the safety of the condo and others. The coffee pot should be replaced with a self shut off one. I noticed by the shape of its... more element we weren't the first to forget it on. Our second is that a small cooler would be very nice addition, for trips to the beach ect... Thanks for having that big umbrella there, we had a lot of rain. I think we brought the rain with us;) We would stay with you our next time to Kona for sure! less

Good condo with noisy neighbors
This condo is in a good location, with quick access to most of the sites in and around Kona. The condo is very clean, even for a couple of "hotel snobs", and we had no issue letting our baby crawl around on the tile floors.... more The view from the patio is fantastic, and the laundry is a great feature. I do have to agree with some other reviews that mentioned the upstairs neighbors. They are ridiculous, and make an unbelievable amount of noise up until about 11 pm. It shouldn't be a problem if everyone in your party stays up late, but if you have young kids, you might want to consider another unit. less

Our stay at Kanaloa at Kona was fabulous.
The condo was very big, it had a lovely living room, all the furnishings required, comfortable rooms, a beautiful master bathroom, a wonderful lanai with an outrageous view of the ocean and a fun pool right outside of the condo. However, there were problems that... more needs to be fixed with the electrical fixtures, the lanai door didn't lock properly and the floors weren't cleaned very well, it had a thin film of dirt. In all, my family and I enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again in the future. Thank you for a memorable vacation. less

The condo was just as it looked in the photos. Extremely clean and well appointed. The air conditioning was not working when we arrived, on a Sunday, but a technician was on site the next day and took care of the problem. Nice big lanai... more with great ocean view and sunsets, very clean, and well appointed. Plenty of cooking pans, utensils, plates, and glass ware. There was snorkeling gear, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. for use by the guests. If you like to grill in the evenings, this is a great condo as the grill is just a short walk away, in front of the lanai. I would definitely stay here again. less

This was our second stay in this fabulous ground floor condo and this time we brought our 2 twenty something sons with us...perfect, and we enjoyed spending time on the lanai overlooking the pool and ocean. Kitchen is spacious and well supplied, beds are comfortable,... more and we used some of the beach supplies (cooler, wave walkers, hats, towels, chairs, snorkel gear). We enjoyed playing ping pong over at the main office/pool area. Only one caveat: this is normally a quiet location yet this time there was a large family (5 or 6 kids, 3 adults)staying in the unit above us so there was lots of noise. They did nothing wrong but just beware that this is condo living and while we've had 3 stays at Kanaloa and 2 of them were uber quiet, this one was a bit different. While you're here, walk around the corner and down to the cove at the end of Kamehameha III and rent sea kayaks from Ocean Safaris--also they do a less expensive night manta ray snorkel adventure which we enjoyed. We won't stay anywhere else when we travel to the Big Island! less

A great way to experience paradise!
Our stay in this condo was one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed breakfasts on the large lanai watching the ocean for whales and dolphins (we spotted both). We really enjoyed the openness of this condo. We had a lot of space to... more relax while having all the comforts of home. The full size washer and dryer were great for washing our swimsuits after a day on the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals or just grab a snack. The central aC allowed for a comfortable nights sleep. There were beach chairs, mats, boogie boards, umbrella and a cooler which allowed us to go to the beach equipped like a local. We really enjoyed the location of Kanaloa. The ocean front location provided amazing views. We liked being on a dead-end residential street... very quiet. There is a shopping complex a short drive away if you need to pick-up anything and the Sheraton is just across the bay. The conveniences of Kailua-Kona are only a short drive away. The Kanaloa grounds were beautifully maintained. There were a few maintenance issues that didn't affect our stay and we received a quick response when we reported them. We found all the beds uncomfortably hard (our one disappointment). The unit is not brand new so some areas show their age (stove, blinds) but the unit is well maintained and on par with a Sheraton or Hilton on the island. The tile floor throughout the unit allowed us to easily clean any sand that we brought in with us. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next trip to Hawaii. less

Amazing place...absolutely perfect
This choice was absolutely perfect! I was on the island for a board meeting and wanted to move from the resort to a condo. This was a great condo in a wonderful place just outside of Kona. Although the cleaning fee was more than some,... more I figured that averaged over the stay, it was still a good value. I was right! The condo was immaculate. It had everything we needed. A pleasant surprise were the beach chairs and cooler in the closet. There were only 2 of us and this was a 2 bedroom but I figured it was such a good value, why not go for it. Turned out to be a great decision. I would recommend this unit highly and if ever back in the Kona area, will definitely stay there. We had excellent service and it couldn't have been a better experience. Sandy beaches nearby even! less

I would rent this condo over and over again!!!
Fantastic! We spent 3 wonderful nights in this spacious, well appointed condo, everything we needed was under hand, the beds were sooo comfortable, the beautiful music of the birds every morning, the awesome sound of the very close surf crashing in, the utter quietness otherwise;... more the geckos come and warm up in the morning sun right outside your front door, which we all loved! The place was so conveniently located, not too far from everything but remote enough to be quiet and peaceful; the pools were fun for the kids, we didn't get a chance to play tennis but wish we had, and we were surprised by a ping pong table by the main pool which provided some extra fun while there. The condo itself had a few things that we're not working or in need of repair, but the owners were aware of some already and had left us a note about it, and as for the few other things going on, like the water dispenser not working from the refrigerator, it really didn't matter at all to us. We did still advised our contact there about it, who was very friendly. We stayed at 3 different places during our stay on the Big Island, and this one was our favorite on the west side, it really felt like home. There were beautiful flowering trees and bushes everywhere too. Overall, wonderful resort and condo. Renting and checking in were a breeze too. The instructions we were given were spot on and easy to follow. There was also someone on site with the resort, helping with organized activities, tours, etc...we were able to find the cheapest night snorkeling/kayaking with manta rays group and they were awesome, best experience of our whole stay! And they're just down the road from the resort! less

Beautiful Tropical Ocean View
The complex is located at the southern end of alii Drive which is just a few miles from the historic Kailua Village section at the northern end. Less than half mile away is the launch site for the Fairwinds snorkel cruise. All three of the... more pools were terrific - the pool by this unit closed at 6 pm while the main pool just a short walk away remained open until 10 pm. The tennis courts looked to be in great shape though we didn't use them. The lanai view from this downstairs unit is pure Hawaiian paradise with a perfect view of the sunset every night. The unit was comfortable and the grounds quiet and very well maintained. The broken ice maker and a shower handle had not been repaired by the time we arrived (life happens) but a case of spring water and bagged ice were provided - there was no inconvenience to us at all. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was because the guests staying in the unit above us had 3 young children who seemed to run non-stop back and forth from early morning to late at night (particularly annoying at bedtime.) Regardless, I would definitely stay in this unit again thinking the odds of a repeat of guests above with several young children with unlimited energy are slim. less

Convenient condo with an ocean view and some issues.
This condo is conveniently located floor level unit with a nice water view. Although the location is good because of it's proximity to the barbeque and pool it's also one of it's drawbacks. The pool area is very noisy with screaming kids in the afternoons.... more Fortunately the noise abates when the pool closes at sunset. Having another condo on the top floor was not an issue until the locals moved in for the weekend. It appears that multiple local families share the rental of Kanaloa units for the weekend. Lots of noise due to kids running around and adults partying on the lanai. The noise did diminish around the 10:00 pm quiet time. Security is non existent in the evening so we were on our own in asking folks if they could hold down the noise. The king bed was comfortable. The headboard was large and cumbersome. The kitchen was nicely equipped with coffee grinder, rice cooker and the usual bad pans. Paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent were provided. The stacked washer and dryer worked well. A note was left explaining why the master shower did not work and the lanai doors did not lock. We had to use the second shower and bathroom and put sticks in the sliding door channel to lock the lanai. The indoor fans and the lanai fan worked well but the light was out on the lanai fan. The lanai is very nice with a view of the pool and the ocean but privacy is an issue as the main path to and from the pool runs directly in front and along side. The WiFi worked well. There are a lot of good things about this unit but there are more quiet and private locations in the Kanaloa condo complex. less

Thank you for submitting a review for our condo, and we’re glad you enjoyed the location and view. We appreciate your feedback and it does make a difference to us. The maintenance items you mentioned have either been addressed or are being addressed. We are awaiting arrival of a part for the sliding door and our temporary locking device will keep our guests secure in the interim. During your visit we had a lot of younger guests on property visiting for a soccer tournament; hence the pool was likely more occupied than usual. The pool closes at 6 PM. Kanaloa security is available 24/7 and we have emergency and local contact numbers posted in the condo. If you choose to stay with us again (and I sincerely hope you will), please don’t hesitate to phone your local contact for assistance during your visit. They are there to help and will make every effort to address any problems you may experience. Jerry & Jodi - Owners
This unit had everything we wanted and more. We stayed with our two sons and they each had their own bed in a separate room, big advantage over a hotel. The master suite had a king bed, huge bathroom with separate toilet, big shower, and... more jacuzzi areas! Separate huge bath for the kids, plus washer/drier that worked great. Well-stocked, huge kitchen. The whole place was extremely comfortable. The lanai overlooks both the pool and ocean, very convenient. There were boogie boards, noodles, coolers etc. for us to use, even beach towels...very thoughtful. Very clean, and the owner was great, got our deposit back right away. Location is super, close to shopping, restaurants, movies, beaches, and great snorkeling spot (Kahaluu). We stayed at Kanaloa years ago and remembered a restauant and bar on the property...neither were open when we visited in Dec 2011, but it was okay since there was so much close by. Would definitely recommend this unit, and hope to stay here again next time we're on the big island. Thanks Chuck! less

I have stayed at the Kanaloa Resort more than a few times at several different condos and found this to be the nicest of all. The condo may not be right on the ocean but having the ocean front pool in view actually enhanced our... more view. Great sunsets from lanai! The only thing that might have made our stay a little better would be if the ice maker was working. less

Pros: Reservation and check-in process was very simple and convenient. Cost was very reasonable. Condo was comfortable and had all the amenities of home, view was beautiful. Room fit 5 adults and 1 child comfortably, more than enough space for all of us. Cons: Master... more bedroom was smaller than expected. Second bedroom did not have a television and lighting was very poor. Overall, the condo was great, pros definitely outweighed the cons. Would stay again without hesitation. less

This is a beautiful place to stay.
Our party of four adults found everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is certainly the nicest condo we have rented. The view of the ocean from the lanai is stunning. The sunsets were lovely and the full moon setting over... more the ocean in the morning was breath taking. The location is quiet and convenient with shopping just a few blocks away. It was also close to the Fairwinds snorkeling excursion dock. less

Aloha Kanaloa at Kona
Condo 2601 provided us with a luxury vacation with all the amenities, a wonderful view, a relaxing lanai, easy location and covered parking. Located just south of Kailua-Kona, it allowed us access to all the beach fun, open air public markets for our veggies and... more fruit, etc. without the craziness that is found when stuck in the middle of the city. Rebooking another stay here is a must. less

comfortable stay @ Kanaloa
This is a surprisingly spacious and comfortable 2 bd condominium centrally located just south of Kona. This property has been updated; the rooms are large (including 2 large bath rooms), and there is ample storage including walk-in closets. There is a wireless internet connection. This... more ground-floor unit overlooks the complex pool (though it is set back aways) and also has a view of the ocean. The covered lanai is a pleasant spot for an afternoon retreat and the unit is very quiet, clean, and comfortable. We chose this unit because it was in a development that was "small" and centrally located on the west shoreline. There is a shopping center conveniently located uphill that includes a Longs and a supermarket. We loved our quiet, comfortable stay in unit 2601and we would certainly return! less

This is a fantastic condo. It was much larger than expected and looks even better in person than it does in all the wonderful pictures posted up on this site. Do make note of the condo being located in a residential area with permanent residents... more who tend to be older. They have little tolerance for being in the common areas after sunset or for holding a conversation with your 3 friends on your lanai into the wee hours of 9:45pm on a Saturday night. All the other renters were quite friendly and talkative around the BBQ and pool. Regardless of my experience, I cannot fault the condo itself. It is a wonderful property in a convenient location. A beautiful place to watch the sunset, as well. less

want to do it again
The condo was furnished with everything we could have needed during our short stay. It was very clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable, which is not always the case. It was quiet and restful and we truly enjoyed the visit. The only negative... more thing we found was that some of the blinds were missing from the window/door to the Lanai. We would definitely repeat the trip if given the opportunity. Thank you less

This Condo is Highly Recommended
We travelled from England to Hawaii. After a week in Waikiki, we were looking forward to a quieter time on Big Island and we found it here. The location on the island was great for sightseeing all over the island. The position of the condo... more within the complex was perfect. We sat on the patio each morning for breakfast overlooking the pool and ocean. Everything we needed (and more) was provided in the condo including flashlights and guide books. We want to thank you very much for letting your lovely holiday home to us. less

Still a great deal!
The price is affordable for the beautiful condo and amenities. We've stayed in this unit several times before and it's our favorite place to stay when we visit Kailua-Kona. The condo is well appointed and its location in the complex places you near the pool... more and bbq with a beautiful view of the ocean, too! less

Recommended for a family with young children (and others)
We had a great stay at Condo 2601, and we'd go back again. The check-in process was easy and quick (email with clear and simple instructions). We recommend using the a/C especially if your children are used to sleeping (napping during the day) in a... more quiet setting. The only noise was made by grounds-keeping service (leaf blowers or some motorized equipment). The indoor slippers help (tile floor). The kitchen is well equipped with appliances, dishes, and dish washing powder, and extra trash bags (it is your responsibility to take the trash out). We recycled plastic, glass and aluminum, but were not quite sure where to take it to. The housekeeping service we ran into outside offered to take it for us. The living room was very comfortable and had TV, VCR, DVD and cable. The drawer below the TV contains a selection of movies. The DVD in the living room won't play the foreign (non-us system) Dvds. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and clean. There is a blow-drier, and basic cleaning supplies, and broom and a vacuum cleaner. There is some beach equipment (towels, toys for children, floating toys, coolers, beach chairs). The wireless connection worked. During our stay, the big disappointment was that the pool right in front of our apartment was not operating (repairs from april 2010 to ?). However, the other pool (for kids) was very near. We saw (not heard) some improvement made on the pool being repaired. As for the beach, the little "bay" south of the condos as seen on Google Earth seems walking-distance beach accessible. The access to the beach is steep, hit by waves, and not for kids. The wonderful and safe beaches just several miles away. For the kids, the "Keiki beach" close to the public swimming complex and the old airport is nice (it is a tidal pool with sand and "pahoehoe" (smooth) lava rocks). Ask the locals for directions. We had a great vacation and the kids called it "our home on the Big Island." less

Home away from home
This was a wonderful condo, very spacious, comfortable and fully stocked. We utilized the beach chairs, cooler and the books. The location was perfect, the quiet setting makes you feel as if you are more remote than you actually are as downtown Kailua Kona is... more just an easy drive north on Ali'i Drive. We enjoyed many of the beaches around the island with one of the best snorkel beaches just minutes away. We had dinners on the lanai while watching beautiful sunsets. The staff were wonderful as they were all extremely friendly and responsive to our questions. There were a few things around the condo that needed attention but according to the housekeeper the owners were aware and had plans for repair. We loved this condo and have plans to return next year! less

Perfect in paradise!
We were skeptical of the pictures on the internet because we had been stung before. This condo is clean and very well stocked and has really been taken care of. Be careful on what screens you open though, we ended up with a gecko visitor.... more The kids had a blast capturing him to release back outside! We were impressed with the view, the location is great, and you can listen to the surf as you fall asleep after watching the amazing sunset from the pool or spa tub. The grounds are clean and the staff is very helpful. This condo even has beach towels and an assortment of beach toys, boogie boards and a cooler to pack lunches in. Condo 2601 is very spacious. My husband and I were travelling with our two children aged fifteen and twelve and we all had such a great time here. If we ever get a chance to return to the Big Island of Hawaii we would definitly try to book this condo again. The very best snorkelling on the island is just down the road at the public beach, my daughter and I were surrounded by six turtles! less

Another nice Kanaloa condo
Very well supplied and roomy. Great location near ocean pool and barbeque. Good view, but not so close that the ocean mist covers everything. We usually get upstairs units, missed the vaulted ceilings, but not the stairs when hauling luggage. Unit could use painting and... more a new master bedrooom bed and some other owner TLC. Met the housekeeper on our way out. What a nice lady! I'd stay in this unit again. I've never been disappointed by renting from Aloha Condos - and I've rented from them a few times. Kanaloa is a great condo complex. less

felt like home except it was paradise
We liked everything about this place. We did not have to deal with any front desk, just get the parking pass from the gate monitor and straight to the condo. It felt like we were staying at our own house. Complete with everything one needs... more for cooking (including some required spices and oils), beach chairs, boogie boards, candles, and everything you can think of. This place overlooks the family pool (closes at 8 pm) and you can see and hear the waves from the patio. This unit was hundreds of dollar's cheaper than the direct ocean front where you can see the sunset, but it is only a 1 minute walk from the ocean front. I think a worth trade off, especially considering how easy this place was to stay at. If you have young ones, this place is a plus because they have some gear for toddlers (sand toys, training potty, etc.) Enjoy the jacuzzi tub and dual heads shower in the master bath. No complaints. A little work is needed on the sliding screen door on patio. We loved it. Thank you. less

Great condo with an ocean view and comfortable living space.
We have stayed in this community for three years now and would highly recommend it. The condos are well kept, have W/D A/C or fans - lanais with great views. This had had ample beach towels and tour books on HI. The location is great,... more about 10 mins from 'downtown' Kona, as well as close to the Southern region with coffee plants and coves for snorkel. Would definitely rent this unit again. less

A little slice of heaven
The condo was well-cared for and had all the amenities one could wish for and more. We really enjoyed the ocean view and the quiet surrounding. There was a grocery store nearby with a large selection and this allowed us to take advantage of the... more well thought out kitchen as well as the BBQ facilities. The only thing I didn't like was having to leave! I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay and hope to be able to return someday. less

Excellent location near Keahou Shopping Center. Beautiful pool and lava shoreline just steps from the front door. Spacious and well-equipped. Staff left a bottle of wine for our 25th anniversary - nice touch!

This was an absolutely beautiful property and condo. Our family of 5 stayed there for over a week and it was the perfect size and great location. We have visited the Big Island each year for the past 5 years and this was our first... more time staying in a condo. We will never stay anywhere else but at the Kanaloa in the future, and we hope to be lucky enough to stay in unit 2601. I can't say enough on how much we liked the property and the condo. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! See you next year! less

Great place to stay with family.
Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed staying at this Condo. The view is nice and the pool in front is great. It is too bad that this pool closed at 6pm. For an older Condo, it has been upgraded nicely. The master bathroom is very... more large and roomy, as is the bedroom. We ate all our meals at the Condo or made lunches that we took with us. There was a cooler in the closet that we used for our day trips. The shared BBQ by the pool worked well and was very nice clean every time we used it. We came at low season so using it was no problem at all. This was our first time the the Big Island and we had a great time. less

Very Comfortable. Beautiful Sunset
Rooms and amenities were sufficient and comfortable, although I was not very satisfied with its cleanliness, especially of floor and kitchenwares. We were also a bit annoyed with noises came from upper unit. I guess one of bath rooms of upper unit is located right... more overhead of the bedrooms of unit 2601. Noises of showers and toilet flush came through a ceiling were not very comfortable. I also thought the screens placed on the windows facing lanai should be maintained. It was very hard to handle and have a couple of small holes. Besides these minor issues, however, we really enjoyed our stay at Kanaloa. It's location is very convenient and easy to access to beaches, shopping centers, yet hidden and quiet. I can't forget beautiful sunset we saw from the lanai. I also emphasize that all condo staffs were very kind and helpful as well. If I have a chance to visit Big Island again, I will definitely come back to Kanaloa. less

Beautiful and spacious condo
This was a nicely decorated and well-stocked condo. It was great to have beach towels and chairs available as those items come in handy in Hawaii. Very comfortable, and the huge master bathroom was awesome. We loved the view of the ocean over the pool... more and hope to stay longer next time. less

Great accomodations, lovely site
Plenty of room for all 4 adults, gorgeous view from the lanai and easy access to the barbecue grill. Aside from slightly erratic wireless access, no complaints from anyone and we'd all return without hesitation. The owl picture in the main bath was a big... more hit! less

Great place near Kona
We spent four nights in this unit in January 2009 and loved every minute. The unit itself was clean and tidy, despite a couple of gecko visitors, and the lanai with views of the water and pool was unbeatable. The location is close to downtown... more Kona but a little removed, so it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed being right around the corner from the grocery store so we could stock our kitchen and cook some meals, which greatly cut down our vacation costs. I would definitely recommend this unit, particularly for families with two kids. One bedroom has a king (?) bed and the other has two twins. less

We have stayed at Kanaloa at Kona on prior visits, and really enjoy the property. The pools and hot tubs are wonderful, there is nothing better than sitting by the ocean side pool watching the dolphins or whales play in the ocean. Our suite was... more very spacious, The Lanai in our suite was also large with a great view to both the ocean and the pool. We had a great stay. less

Our favorite place to stay in Kona!
We are fond of the Kanaloa Condominiums, especially unit 2601. It's comfortable and feels like a home away from home. The unit is very convenient to the pool, bbq grill, and the rugged coastline. The master bath is large with a double shower and in... more a separate room has a jacuzzi tub that helps melt away one's cares! The kitchen is easy to navigate with an extra large refrigerator and wide countertops. The lanai is spacious with a table that easily seats six. Our one and only hope is that the master king bed be replaced as it's a little uncomfortable. less

Gorgeous Location and Spectacular Views
Ideal for a wonderful family vacation. Condo was a little dated but you could see updating was starting to occur. This partiular unit fit our family perfectly (two adults and two college student daughters plus a cousin's daughter). Enjoyed the spectacular view. We are a... more very active family and most of our time was spent either in or under the water. There are numerous snorkeling beaches within easy drive. Anybody going to the Big Island must catch a bite and beer at the Kona Brewery restaurant. The best pizza (Greek) we ever ate. We hope to do this again. less
