Couldn't be better

Our week in Kurt and Bonnie's condo was excellent. So spacious, quiet, comfortable and kitted with everything one needs for a self-catering vacation home away from home. The info supplied by Kurt and Bonnie was very useful re grocery shopping and things to do. We had family staying in other condos at the resort but it was nice to have our own space. Good amenities at the resort and short walk to the various swimming pools to cool off! less

Visiting the family

As per usual, Kurt and Bonnie paved the way for a great stay in their beautiful, very comfortable, well equipped condo. Everything was in tip top shape, clean, and ready upon arrival. Our only issue was that the time went by way too quickly- wished we had more time to enjoy their wonderful condo! Mark & Cathy less

Lovely and Comfortable

Kurt and Bonnie's condo is well decorated and feels like a home away from home. Very clean and organized, it was a great place to stay in Kona. An incredible orchestra of birds singing just off of the lanai every day was such a pleasant experience. We plan to be back and will gladly stay in Kanaloa 203 again. less

Peaceful and Relaxing Vacation

Kurt and Bonnie’s condo was perfect for our Hawaiian vacation. The upper floor unit is in a peaceful and relaxing location with expansive views overlooking the golf course. As an end unit, Unit 203 feels like a separate home. With a back lanai facing the golf course and a front master bedroom lanai facing a tropical entry, we kept cool with in-flowing breezes. I couldn’t wait to enjoy my coffee out on the lanai each morning listening to the birds and watching mongoose digging for grubs. The beds are super comfortable, and the living room is large enough to comfortably accommodate an entire family. The property is clean, well furnished, and well organized, making it very easy to navigate and enjoy our stay. There are plenty of kitchen supplies to make meal-prep and clean-up easy. Kurt and Bonnie provide a basic stock of last-minute ingredients like spices, which is so helpful. Honestly, there isn’t anything missing. They also have snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, and picnicking supplies, which were a lifesaver for us because we forgot to pack an important piece of our snorkeling gear. The condo is close to everything. It is just steps away from all the complex amenities (pools, hot tubs, tennis/pickleball courts, and BBQ's), and a short walk (a block or two) to He’eia Bay for body surfing and Keauhou Bay for swimming, snorkeling and kayak rentals. Restaurants, groceries, and shops are minutes away and easy to access. A farmer’s market is 6 minutes away. Kurt and Bonnie made us feel so comfortable and right at home. They were so easy to communicate with and so accommodating. Honestly, we’re already making plans to go back. less

Lovely well equipped unit!

Unit 203 is beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped, with every convenience one could want in a rental. The beds are very comfortable, and the golf course-facing lanai is private and shady in the afternoon. Kurt was very accommodating when a medical issue necessitated a two day change in plans. We have stayed in a number of units over the years at Kanaloa, and this one is near the top in quality. less

Paradise

Our family had a wonderful two weeks in this fabulous condo. Beautiful surroundings and beautiful, well set out accommodation, with everything provided from coolie bins, beach chairs, snorkels etc. A well equipped kitchen with all the extras you might need. Everything provided was top quality. We enjoyed a reunion with relatives from the USA, and will definitely be returning, and recommending your condo to friends and family. Thanks for a great holiday less

Stop looking, This is it! Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at Kurt and Bonnie's condo- Kanaloa 203. Spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to spread out with our two teenage kids- including two separate lanai. Second bedroom was set up as two twin beds which was perfect for us. Quiet complex in quiet area along the golf course, easily accessible from gated/ security complex entrance (Watch out for Tom the turkey 😂) ; awoken by songbirds every morning. Amenities including KTA grocery are very close. Complex is not sprawling; all 3 pools 3 minute walk (the oceanside pool is especially lovely); 15 minute drive to Kona Ali'i drive area-15 minutes to Capn Cook. Complex staff were great! Condo is well stocked with essentials; with some food basics there (ketchup, etc.), so check before you buy anything. Beach gear is great plus, and includes a few different sized coolers, many chairs, mats, umbrellas, a few sand toys, boogie boards (for an adult/ big child, & smaller child), and snorkeling equipment (we own our own snorkeling gear, so I can only say that it was there, but looked fine)(Even a spear fishing rig that I wanted to try, but the better half nixed that). Plenty of beach towels for your use. All linens, extra pillows, extra blankets, etc there. Washer/ Dryer in unit makes it a breeze (We WAY overpacked). This is a fantastic place for your home base on your Big Island adventure; take some of the worry out of your planning, and book here. Mahalo Kurt and Bonnie for your hospitality, and thank you to Aloha Condos for your guidance and ease of booking! Lewis, Lisa, Abby, and Cole from Pennsylvania Aloha! less

Great home away from home

This condo was a wonderful experience. They have everything you need and a lot of extras that you do not usual get when you rent a condo. I would advise going there first and seeing what is provided before you go to the store and stock up. All the furniture, especially the beds, was very comfortable and well maintained. The condo complex was very nice too with multiple pool areas and activities available. All the equipment you need is provided. Great experience overall and would definitely stay again. less

Konaloa

We very much enjoyed our stay. The condo had everything we needed including guide books with local suggestions. It was in a lovely convenient location and was very clean and well maintained. Any questions were answered by thoughtful notes and instructions.

Awesome Condo

We thoroughly enjoyed our 16 day stay (November 16 to December 2) at Condo 203, located in the beautiful Kanaloa at Kona Resort. The two bedroom, two bathroom condo with a large lanai facing the golf course, is well maintained, clean, has a well equipped kitchen and a perfect place to spend a relaxing vacation. The condo location is close to the resort entrance, the 3 swimming pools and a short walk down to the ocean front where on can watch the beautiful sunsets. We particularly enjoyed the lanai as it faces away from the hot afternoon sun; it is a perfect place to relax, watch the golfers, birds and the odd mongoose playing in the bushes. It is only a short drive to the grocery store and Saturday Farmers Market. We would definitely recommend staying at this condo and we are looking foreward to returning in the near future. less

Wonderful Stay

This is the third time we've stayed in this unit and we absolutely love it. We came with my in-laws again, and this unit is perfectly laid out for two couples, or a family with kids if that is you. It is quiet yet well located to get everywhere easily. The beds are very comfortable and the unit is very clean and well equipped. Probably our favorite is the lanai, which has a dining table as well as lounge chairs. We spent a lot of time out here watching and listening to the beautiful birds. The grounds are very well kept and there is quite a variety of tropical vegetation. Everything was perfect for our stay, as usual. We definitely recommend this unit for couples or families. less

Always consistent!

We have been staying at Kanaloa, Condo 203, off and on for the last 40-years and the Unit consistently provides us with exactly what we had to leave behind from our prior stay: Spacious accommodations, comfort, air-conditioning, any beach, snorkeling equipment, view of the golf course especially from the shaded lanai while enjoying our much awaited taste of fresh papaya, more than sufficient equipment and utensils for eating in, swimming pools, barbecues if one wants to eat in, and most importantly a handy shopping center with grocery store at the top of the hill. This year our stay was for 2-weeks prior to Thanksgiving, and we had the wilderness joy of two turkeys greeting us each evening as we left the entrance road to Kanaloa. "Hope they made it through the holidays." less

A Wonderful stay…

We had a wonderful stay at Kurt and Bonnie’s Condo. It was very beautiful and fully equipped for anything you might need. We have stayed at another condo for many years but this by far was the loveliest and nicest stay we have had. The beds were very comfy, it was quiet, and quite spacious. A month in paradise

This is a phenomenal unit. Great hosts! Great view. Well outfitted kitchen and rooms. Well outfitted for the beach and snorkeling. We found it in great shape - the pictures do not lie! We stayed nearly a month, and only notified the owners/onsite manager once for a minor issue, and they were ON IT. You can tell they have put a lot of thought into the accommodation process and the condo décor. The Kanaloa grounds and pool areas were well-kept. We saw maintenance staff working daily to keep the grounds looking like a manicured garden. We appreciated being behind a gate. One of my favorite memories of our stay is waking up daily to the smell of flowers on the nice lanai, drinking local Kona coffee, and appreciating the beauty of the Keauhou-area mountainside. In general Kanaloa at Kona is a great location between Ali'i drive and the Captain Cook area, and this is an ideal unit with its tranquil views. less

Excellent stay

We stayed for a week and had an excellent experience. The property is beautiful, has a great view and very clean. Costco and Walmart are not too far away, and the condo is fully equipped with everything you need for meals in (and even coolers for picnics!). The owner was very helpful and responsive, and provided some great local information and suggestions. We would not hesitate to stay again! less

Nice & Quiet

Loved this condo. Very spacious compared to other places we have stayed. Does get a little warm being upstairs. We chose to not pay extra for the a/c, and even though the weather was mostly overcast while we were there, with moderate temperatures, it did get quite warm without the a/c. Would loved to have used it, but it was an expensive option. We stayed 3 weeks and had to pay an additional "interim" cleaning fee. We understand wanting to keep everything clean, but this was another added expense that we have never had with other condos. With that said, it was beautiful and comfortable with nice furniture and appliances, and a full-sized w/d, not a small stack unit. Communication was excellent with easy check in. Thank you Kurt & Bonnie. less

— Catherine, Stayed 05/09/2022

Wow! This place is great!

We’ve stayed in dozens of Big Island condos and this is by far one of the best. Kanaloa is a great complex, this unit is nicely furnished, beautifully upgraded, and very well equipped. As soon as I walked in I was so impressed by the cleanliness and by how well maintained this unit is. The owners are quick to respond, although the only reason I needed to contact was to complement on how comfortable they made our stay. The well equipped kitchen is easy to cook in, there’s a load of beach gear and there are numerous spots for comfortable lounging. less

— Susan, Stayed 11/23/2021

Great location/Very Nice Condo

My wife and I stayed for eight nights in October. We really enjoyed the unit. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning and watched the golfers struggle. The pools and tennis courts were nice and not crowded. We were glad to stay 10-12 min drive south of the main town. There’s a great snorkel beach less a mile north, and easy access to beaches/things to do to the north and south. Really appreciated the snorkel/beach gear less

— Matthew, Stayed 10/28/2021

Such a terrific place to stay! Great location with the comforts of home plus lots of beach gear and 3 pools - one with a great Oceanview! We truly enjoyed our stay - Kurt and Bonnie truly have thought of and provided for a wonderful stay on the Big Island! less

Great Condo in Excellent location

Love this location - you'll need a rental vehicle for sure but so worth it! I used to live on this street and knew the location very well. There is a rocky beach access right outside the gate to the complex. We snorkeled that beach just once. We liked Keauhou for our home base to tour the entire Kona coast...that was perfect! The condo was lovely and perfect for the two of us and our 11 year old daughter. The furnishings were nice and had a Hawaiian island style. We never actually cooked as we ate out most of the time but the kitchen seemed well stocked with gear. The bedrooms were nice size and the beds were comfortable. Our daughter loved the cozy bed in the second bedroom. The lanai is lovely and fronts the 11th fairway on the golf course. The morning was fabulous with singing birds...priceless! My only suggestion would be to limit the amount of written paperwork everywhere and consider not asking/suggesting your visitor/client clean and strip the beds and do the laundry when they leave. Seeing that in the check-out paperwork laying on the Dining table on arrival put a damper on the stay for me (it was MY vacation too!) and it became a daily joke which was unnecessary. We did pay for cleaning in the rental agreement and we kept the unit perfectly clean while we were there for 8 days. Other than that we loved the condo, the location, and being back in Hawaii! We do recommend the complex and this unit! Aloha! less

Wonderful Kona Condo

We spent four nights in this condo recently with our family. The unit was one of the best we've rented in HI. There were 6 in our party (including 3 teenagers). The unit was very comfortable when using the hideabed at night. The views of the golf course were great and it was nice that the unit was air conditioned throughout. The area is quiet but also kid friendly. Having three separate pool areas was nice as was watching the sunset from the sunset pool. The location was great whether going north to Kona or Hapuna Beach or south to Volcano. Would definitely stay here again in the future. less

Kanoloa condos

We had an amazing vacation in Kona. We really enjoyed our stay at the condos at kanoloa. The owners Kurt and Bonnie have done an incredible job with tasteful decor and comfortable furniture and beds. We felt very at home in their condo. Fully furnished including all necessary items in the kitchen. With 2 lanai's our family of 4 had plenty of room to spread out. I would recommend this rental and we would love to get back to Kona and rent this place again. Thank you Kurt and Bonnie for helping make our experience a pleasant one! less

My husband and I felt this was one of the favorite condos we have ever stayed at. It was so beautiful and had everything we needed. Beautiful condo on the golf course

Our family of 4 stayed at this beautiful condo for two weeks. It had everything we needed and more. The three pools on property were relaxing, and the one right on the ocean had awesome views. Has everything you need for terrific stay in Kona

Kanaloa at Kona Condo has everything you will for a great stay in Kona. Places looks just as you see in the photos. 2nd floor Condo is super clean, the kitchen is well stocked, AC works great, and the condo is more spacious than it appears. King bed is very comfy. The whole complex is well maintained and quiet. There's a nice pool by the ocean and one closer to the unit. Our kids really enjoyed that the pool water was super warm even at 8pm, and there's a game room with ping pong tables near the pool. Although we met other people from the mainland at the pool it didn't feel overrun with tourists, even during memorial day weekend. We played Aloha Monopoly from the condo game shelf. There's a couple super comfy lanai chairs that overlook the golf course. And the unit is fully stocked with beach equipment, like boards, sand toys, snorkel gear, beach towels and chairs. The Condo is very centrally located, close to local beaches, stores and about 10-12 minutes to downtown Kona, if you want dinner and drinks. Bonnie and Kurt are great hosts although we didn't have any need to contact them as everything worked perfectly. Overall a terrific stay, and look forward to our next trip to the Big Island. less

Great Condo!

My friends and I had the pleasure of staying in condo #203 at Kanaloa, Kona. Kurt & Bonnie Goldsmith are the owners and have made their place so comfortable & inviting. It is located close to the entrance set back against the golf course, so quiet & peaceful and a beautiful view of the course off the Lanai. The condo is decorated beautifully and tastefully, with furnishings are updated and a nice quality. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The large sectional sofa was especially great! Nice assortment of beach needs, including chairs, towels, mats, etc. Just a wonderful place that we so enjoyed! Will be back hopefully! less

A comfortable stay in a quiet location!

The condo is well supplied with everything we needed for our stay. It's in a lovely and quiet location, we loved being able to run to nearby Keauhou Bay and the beaches on Ali'i Drive. Lovely Home

This condo was wonderful! We enjoyed all of the space and all of the thoughtful amenities. The balcony next to the golf course (with lots of trees) was a great place to kick back with a cup of coffee and a book while I waited for the rest of the family to wake up. We wanted a condo close enough to downtown but without the noise of the main drag (Ali'i) so this place was perfect. I would definitely recommend this location (unless you can't do stairs, because you enter on the 1st floor, but ALL living spaces are upstairs). less

The Best!!

This is a fantastic location, very convenient to shopping, beaches, restaurants and just seconds from a front row seat to the most amazing sunset ever seen. Easy, friendly, positive, prompt, supportive communication throughout the rental process...especially important for someone not familiar with the island. The super quick check in is appreciated. The onsite staff is so professional and the property is beyond beautiful. We felt safe and secure the entire time. The unit was clean, well stocked, modern and updated - felt homey and relaxed. Furniture was really nice and comfortable. Games, books, puzzles and interesting local information was available. We were welcomed by a yummy gift basket that was delicious. We had so much fun and didn't want to leave. We cannot wait to rebook this condo. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone interested in an unforgettable vacation. less

Spacious and clean condo, accommodating and responsive owners!

Over the years my husband and I have learned that you get what you pay for when it comes to vacation rentals and we definitely got what we paid for and more with this wonderful condo! There is lots of space in the condo, the kitchen was well stocked with kitchen gear, and there were instructions for everything in the condo. The condo owners were very responsive and accommodating! We were traveling with a two year old and they made sure to give us baby gates and asked if we needed any other baby gear such as high chairs. The condo is located just far enough south that we didn’t have to deal with downtown Kona traffic but close enough that it was a very short drive to all the restaurants and shopping. There is a grocery store and restaurants with in a couple minute drive of the condo as well which was very convenient. When our flight to the island was cancelled, the owner even offered to extend our stay on the other end to make up for the lost day. I highly recommended this rental if you are looking to truly have a relaxing and worry free vacation! less

Great place!

We loved our stay at Kanaloa 203. Comfortable and nicely furnished with plenty of space for 4 adult family members. Kitchen had what we needed to prepare meals. Loved the evenings on the lanai - dining and playing cards. Enjoyed the amenities - we went swimming in the pools, played tennis and ping pong, and used the snorkel equipment and chairs on our beach days. Keauhou is a nice quiet location not far from the busy town of Kona and convenient to explore many areas of the coast. This well cared for accommodation is highly recommended! less

Lovely stay

We needed a last minute booking because of a family situation, and this condo was available. We couldn't have found a better place for our stay. It is clean, beautifully furnished, well stocked and has a lovely peaceful view of the golf course. We were very happy to have air conditioning, as it was very not and humid while we were there. We haven't seen Kona as clear and pristine as it is right now for quite a while. No vog or haze since the volcano has stopped. We decided to extend our time and everyone made it as smooth as it possibly could have been. Immediate response from property manager and owners.. I can't recommend enough and I am VERY picky! less

Amazing Place

We had the pleasure of staying at this condo August 2018. 1) Our flights to Hawaii were delayed by one day. Kurt and Bonnie quickly responded to our changes and since they did not have a boooking after us, offered to extend our stay by a day. 2) We also showed up the day before hurricane Lane hit (we are unlucky travellers). They corresponded with us throughout our trip to help us make the decision to stay or go and also made sure there was water and flashlights in case the storm was bad (it was not). 3) The condo was clean, fully stocked with anything you would want, had very confortable beds and was in a great location. We had access to beach towels, snorkel equipment, beach chairs and every kitchen gadget you would need. 4) The facilities were great. They are well kept, clean, and close to everything. We swam in all three pools, saw dolphins swimming past the resort and barbecued using the common grills. 5) The resort is close to the Heavenly coffee farm (awesome), downtown Kona and some beaches. We would definitely stay at this location again. Thanks Kurt and Bonnie! less

Family Vacation

This was our first real family vacation and had a great time. We had stayed at this property before and we knew what we were getting. We wanted a place that was relaxing and quiet while offering variety of options if we wanted them. The location is a little off the beaten path, but that's what made it ideal for us. It's a little further south of Kailua/Kona, but not too far to drive 5-10 min. and go shopping or get a meal. Most of the snorkeling and swimming beaches are south of town anyways, so the condo put you closer to those locations as well. The condo was very close to a small strip mall or shopping center with a grocery store. This was very convenient for buying food or other necessities. We ate breakfast and lunch at the condo everyday in an effort to keep meal costs down, and having the grocery store there enabled us to do this. The condo property is well maintained and with a security gate restricting access. The property had three different pools, so none of them were very crowded. One of the pools was next to the ocean enabling us to sit by the pool, but listen to the ocean waves at the same time. If you just have to get into the ocean, there is a small cove with a park down the road as well. Our unit was located next to the golf course giving us a quiet and relaxed place to rest and unwind while we were there. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and would come back in the future. less

A stunning condo in a stunning location

A wonderful unit, well equipped with lots of helpful information, a real home from home. The views from the unit of the golf course were beautiful from the main balcony with the added bonus of a sea view from the master bedroom balcony. We could not have wished for a better place to spend our time in Hawaii. The site itself was very well maintained with lovely well kept grounds, 3 lovely pools to choose from also with hot tubs. Can’t wait for the opportunity to return and would have no hesitation in recommending. less

Beautiful condo, awsome location, great holiday

We stayed here from May 14 - 22 and absolutely loved it! The condo is very clean, spacious, nicely decorated and exceptionally well equipped. The air conditioning keeps the place cool and comfortable. The location is great - quite and peaceful, close to grocery stores, beaches and restaurants. The complex is small, cozy, secure, very well organized, and taken care of. Has information desk, where you can book your island activities, library, games, tennis courts, 3 pools, access to the ocean (not for swimming - for stunning views), lots of palm tress, flowers, birds and unforgettable sunsets. The beach gear was a very cool bonus - we didn't have to rent and pay for it. Check-in and check-out were easy, smooth and accommodating. We had no issues during our stay. It was our first trip to Big Island and we had a super positive experience not only because Hawaii are always awesome, but also because of the place we stayed in. We miss it! Next time we are definitely staying here again:) Thank you! less

Very nice condo

This condo is a very clean and beautiful living space, and we immediately felt comfortable to make it our home during our vacation on the Big Island. Check-in was easy and there were no complications. The kitchen was well equipped to enjoy meals at home, and the laundry facilities were modern and accommodating. The bedrooms and closets were spacious. The bathrooms were fully functional. The air conditioning kept the space very comfortable for us. The unit is located is a quiet corner of a lovely complex, overlooking a golf course. The complex is conveniently located when exploring all areas of the island. We will definitely consider this vacation rental for our next trip to the Big Island and will recommend it to our family and friends. less

Great Condo

Our family enjoyed our vacation and the condo. It was nice to have all the comforts of home, condo was well equipped. The beach gear that was available was a nice added perk. Condo is in a quieter area which worked nice for us. The condo was close to a grocery store, theatre, beaches, and restaurants. Condo was a great fit and we would use it again. The only downside was the one security lady seemed like she expected my teenage boys to be doing something wrong, even when they where just walking around Kids ended up having hard feelings about it. less

Still a wonderful condo with everything you need

This was our second stay at Kanaloa at Kona, and we continue to be impressed with Kurt and Bonnie's hospitality. This is clearly the Goldsmith's second home, and it shows with the amount of thought they have put into all the details. Thanks to the well-stocked kitchen, we cooked nearly every night because we knew we'd have all the cooking utensils, pots, and pans we needed to pull together delicious meals. Everything is organized, labeled, and easy to find, from the selection of coolers for beach picnics to spare linens. The mattresses are super comfy and helped us sleep well. We were pleasantly surprised by the mid-stay cleaning visit halfway through our two-week trip. Kurt and Bonnie are always responsive and ensure a delightful stay. We will be back to Kanaloa at Kona 203 again! Mahalo! less

Kanaloa 203

I believe this is our 4th or 5th time to Kanaloa 203 and we just absolutely love it. The unit is so comfortable and very equipped with anything you would need. The location is very convenient with a grocery store minutes away. The resort has three pools and one specifically for adults only. The grounds and the foliage are just amazing and very well cared for. We are already talking about another trip in 2018. less

Condo - Kona

We had a wonderful stay at Bonnie and Kurt's condo. It was exceptionally equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is spacious and very comfortable. We had a wonderful welcome basket on the counter when we arrived. We had a little glitch with the air conditioning the morning after our arrival . Tom, the local contact person, was so helpful and had a technician out to repair it very quickly even though it was a Sunday. I would recommend this condo unit to anyone wanting to stay in the Kona area. Close to the downtown district but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. I would rate it A plus. Thank you Bonnie and Kurt less

Fantastic, comfortable Condo

We had a very pleasant stay in this condo. The unit was very well equipped with just about anything you may need. The owner has spent a lot of time organizing the unit which is very helpful to the occupants. The beds are the best factor about it. Both beds slept beautifully. Best investment thus far. It's in a great location. Super clean. I would recommend this unit to anyone and will find myself coming back to it if back in the area. Many thanks, Owners. less

Excellent unit at a bargain price

Unit 203 is a bargain! I’ve stayed in several different condos at Kanaloa – this one tops the list for being beautifully furnished, clean, and well maintained. My initial thought upon entering was that it was nicer than the photo’s depict. We typically go for an ocean front unit – but found the golf course lanai quite relaxing. I didn’t miss the ocean view but did occasionally long for the breeze of being close to the water, so will consider A/C next time. The KTA supermarket up the hill seems to improve every year – we’ll probably just skip the usual Costco stop from here on out. Overall, great stay and will certainly consider #203 for the next trip. less

Family of 5

This is the first time we have visited the Big Island and the condo is beautiful. This was the perfect size for my wife and 3 kids. The owner contacted me prior to my visit and knowing we were traveling with a 1 year old, they provided a high chair and gates. This condo has everything, all you need to buy is food. There is a convenient grocery store less than 2 miles away. Hopefully we get the chance to visit again! less

Great spot

This is a great place, on a scenic golf course and a short walk to the ocean in the evening to watch the sunset. The pools are very nice, all 3 of them. Relaxing and Great Condo!

We had a great time staying in unit 203 at the Kanaloa at Kona resort. The condo itself was very well stocked, large and very clean. Loved the beds (its my biggest complaint usually). Lots of little things (spices, condiments, etc) were all taken care of. The welcome basket was very thoughtful and shows the great hospitality of its owners. We LOVED it! Sitting on the balcony watching the golfers stroll by was extremely relaxing and very quiet. The facilities in the complex were great. The pools were wonderful especially the oceanside one and we spent hours hanging out there with our 5 yr old. It was a short 5 min walk from the unit. We really enjoyed the fact that we were outside the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. We would HIGHLY recommend this unit and complex. We will definitely look them up the next time we visit the island. Mahalo! less

Kanaloa at Kona, Condo 203

We really enjoyed our stay at Kanaloa at Kona. Kurt and Bonnie have a wonderful condo that met all of our needs. The location was great, the view of the golf course was nice, the unit was very clean, and we immediately felt at home. As I was in town to participate in Ironman, it was very helpful to have a kitchen with everything necessary to prepare familiar pre-race meals. I wish we could have stayed even longer. Very Relaxing Stay

We booked this condo for a surprise birthday stay for my Mom's 80th birthday. The moment she walked in she was happy. It was quiet and spacious (the master suite is to die for with it's own private lanai) and very well equipped. The three pools were perfect. From the Ocean pool we watched a pod of dolphins go by, saw tropical fish in the water, and enjoyed sunbathing while my Dad was able to read the paper under the shaded picnic area. It was great that we could all be together and enjoy what we each liked, all at the same time. There were many times we had the Adult pool all to ourselves. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. In addition to that the location overlooking the golf course made for perfect morning coffee on the lanai, as well as evening relaxing time after dinner. It was fun to watch the golfers as well. It was an absolutely great trip thanks to many things and this condo was icing on the cake. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and unwind, yet be close to other activities (marina near by, groceries, snorkeling, you name it). Thank you so much for sharing your home. less

The apartment was very clean and all appliances worked very well. We loved to watch the birds in the trees while having breakfast outside and we loved the pools. The apartment provides everything for a family vacation, many things for activities at the beach and also more than the usual and high quality equipment for cooking and dining. What a way to spend an anniversary

My husband and I have been to Hawaii, especially The Big Island, many times. Our first stay was at Kanaloa at Kona and we loved the facilities. We have stayed in many other rental units over the years and when we decided to return to Hawaii to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary we decided to return especially to Kanaloa at Kona and we found Unit #203!!! THE BEST EVER!! Kurt and Bonnie, the owners of the unit, were very gracious and accommodating from the start. Upon our arrival there was a beautiful floral arrangement of all the exotic flowers of the islands, an anniversary card, a bottle of champagne and a welcome basket with all sort of fruit, cookies and nuts. What could I say about the unit itself - it is apparent this is Kurt and Bonnie's second home, it is equipped with everything a person could possible need - definitely did not feel like a rental unit. The furnishing were amazing and very comfortable - right down to the sleep number bed. We called our Local Contact, Tom, for a minor problem and he was very helpful and accommodating. Kurt also called to assure the minor problem was resolved and that we were comfortable. This DEFINITELY will be the unit we will return to on our next trip. Mahalo and Aloha. less

Home away from home!

We've stayed at Kanaloa at Kona 4 times and twice in 203. We were so happy to return and spend a month a month in this wonderful condo. It's very spacious, clean, comfortable and fully stocked. We utilized the well equipped kitchen, beach towels and chairs, coolers and also enjoyed the nice variety of books. The location is perfect, the quiet setting makes you feel as if you are more remote than you actually are as downtown Kailua Kona is just an easy drive north on Ali'i Drive. We loved sitting out on the lanai overlooking the golf course, while enjoying the peaceful view and listening to the beautiful song birds. Tom, the local contact and owners Kurt and Bonnie were extremely responsive to a couple of issues that came up. We thank you for everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return again. A wonderful condo with everything you need

Over the course of six visits, we have stayed in a variety of accommodations on the Big Island, but this condo has surpassed all the rest. We knew we had arrived somewhere special when we saw the unexpected and much appreciated welcome basket. As we looked around the unit, it was clear that Kurt and Bonnie have gone to great lengths to make this a home away from home, equipping it with all the necessities as well as detailed descriptions and directions for everything from using appliances to making the most of your island visit. When we had a minor problem with equipment, the response was quick. The local caretaker, Tom, came by with a repairman, and when we returned to the condo, not only was the problem resolved, there was an exquisite flower arrangement on the dining table. This is the kind of gesture that you expect from a five-star hotel. We hope to plan our future visits far enough in advance that we can always stay here. less

Vacation in paradise

The condo we rented (203) was the best rental we've ever had. Everything was perfect - starting with a lovely welcome fruit basket and going through lots of nice touches. The unit is huge and decorated beautifully. You feel at home staying there, there is no usual coldness of a vacation rental. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is a lovely lanai overlooking a golf course. Mattresses are very comfortable and expensive. Everything there is designed and bought for a personal use, not for a rental. There is a 5 min walk to the pool area overlooking the ocean and we were watching sunsets there almost very day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This beautiful condo proved to be the perfect choice for our vacation, which we prolonged. The owners go to great lengths to make sure that their place is comfortable and has everything one can need ( from great mattresses and cookware to a delicious welcoming fruit basket!) The apartment is located on a carefully manicured estate, at walking distance from a nice shopping center (with a lovely Saturday organic market), right on the volcanic coast close to the Sheraton resort (where one goes diving with manta rays, an absolute must! ). No beach here as the coast is quite rocky, but Magic Sands beach, just a few miles away, is one of the best snorkeling spot on the island, shallow enough for beginners, and better than Captain Cook in terms of "fish population". Also, the resort is close enough to Kailua-Kona (where one can even go via tramway). All in all, a very pleasant stay in the loveliest of condos which we recommend highly! less

Relaxing and everything was there that we needed.

What a beautiful condo you have Bonnie and Kurt! It is a huge space, easily enough for six people if two of those didn't mind sleeping on the pull out couch. The welcome basket with fruit, cookies and chocolate was deeply appreciated as was the fully stocked spice cabinet and refrigerated condiments. (Just a reminder for anyone going to Hawaii that they will be the first state that will not give out bags when you grocery shop, so take your own.) With two exceptions, everything in the condo was as perfect as checking in at a 4-Star resort. The place was spotless, everything was in place and we felt at home within minutes of our arrival. Nice Visit to Kona

This was about our 5th visit to 203 and we love it. It is like our home away from Home. Everything you might want is there. This time, we drove the Saddle Road between Hilo and Kona and it is wonderful. The local literature still say to stay off of it because it is narrow, bumpy, filled with turns and very dangerous. The truth is, it has been completely rebuilt during the past 6 years under the supervision of the Federal Highway authority and it is fantastic. 1-1/2 hours between Hilo and Kona. Wide smooth roadway with gentle turns. If you want to play golf, be aware that the Kona Country Club course (adjacent to the condo) is closed until at least Spring 2014. That didn't bother us, but it might bother golfers. less

A wonderful retreat and a gem of a vacation home

We traveled around Hawaii for 2 months and this was the one condo we stayed at that exceeded our expectations, where the photos do not show what a lovely home it is. It is extremely well-cared for with great quality furniture, art, and products throughout. We had everything we needed and felt the location was peacefully off-the-beaten-track, yet close to Kona/Kailua, a brief drive to Kealakekua and Honaunau to the south, and a short drive to the Kekaha Kai & Waikolola area beaches to the north. Like being home in paradise

The condo is much more lovely and larger than an internet picture can show. Easy access to many area attractions but in such a lovely and quiet area that lends to R&R; but just down the road from all the action. Better equipped than most vacation rentals, in fact it felt like our own luxury home. I could choose from a restful nights sleep in the king sized sleep number bed or a lazy nap in a large reclining chair the size of a full bed on one of the two decks. The soft clean water of the Island is so enjoyable from the luxury tiled shower in the large master bath. You could cook anything in the kitchen, in fact it was big enough for our who party to make a luau sized meal to eat on one deck looking over the golf course with peek a boo views of the ocean. Walk the grounds to the water- too rough to swim in but good for foot dipping and a stroll along the shore. All 3 pools of the property are enjoyable but with so many beaches nearby you may or may not need them. We stayed in april with no air conditioning, the vented windows and ceiling fan were cooling enough. We even had a welcome basket that greeted us. less

Best Vacation Spot on the Big Island

This was our 8th trip to Hawaii (we have logged more than 3000 miles driving on the Big Island alone) and a 30th wedding anniversary trip. Firstly, let me highly recommend aloha Condo's website for your use (and I have no association with this group). Far and away the best selection and reasonable costs for these units. On the Big Island, I would suggest that unit #203 is one of the nicest locations on a golf course and near pretty much everything. The new owner's made sure we knew everything we needed, kept us informed and had a wonderful fruit basket waiting the day of arrival, no hassles, no fuss, very easy. You can walk easily to a nearby pool, the ocean and great views (but no ready access to the water and not the place you want to enter anyway). #203 is a large condo with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, great master bed (very nice quality), has all the features you need from full washer/dryer, great kitchen with plenty of supplies, two lanai's, and air conditioning (and Yes- AC is needed during the summer and fall when the "trades" are down). The location at Kanaloa at Kona is close to everything, but far enough away from some of the more congested area's to make your trip enjoyable. Near dock for snorkeling/dive trips (just a few minutes away), close to Place of Refuge (for sunsets & Hawaiian history), Volcanoe's (a long days trip), the State Park on ali drive (good for beginning snorkeler's). Good restaurant's in the nearby vicinity (I recommend Teshima's about 20 minutes away for a local asian flavor). On a scale of 10 (and you really have to pay a lot more for a 10), I would say this is a solid 8, with a qualification that using aloha Condo's site is the way to go, I've had less satisfaction renting directly from the resort itself (with higher costs). Plus the Kanaloa folks seem to be more interested in renting the units, than the comfort of the guests. Aloha from the big Island! And I'm already planning my next trip back to #203...thanks Kurt & Bonnie! less

Blissful Escape

Arriving at the resort feels like arriving at a pocket of paradise...warm greeting at the gate, going through to lush landscaping (more hibiscus flowers than I've ever seen before), and all to the sound of birdsong. Walk in to a gorgeous welcome tropical fruit basket, and you know that it couldn't get much better! This unit has an embracing view of the rolling greens of the golf course - the lanai is just so inviting. Inside, the unit is set up for every comfort for the family. It's very relaxed decor/finish etc was just right for a relaxing family holiday (not for 5 star marble seekers). The unit is only a very short distance from the tennis court and 2 of the resorts pools; a short walk further takes you to the gorgeous ocean-front pool and lava coastline. loved it. Would go back tomorrow. less

totally enjoyable

This condo was by far my best experience with renting on the big island. It is so beautiful overlooking the golf course. And yes, we all agreed, the beds were dreamy. Entering a home atmosphere and feeling right at home and comfortable was a joy. All of our needs and wants were met. The owner was professional regarding the "paperwork" part. We all felt like we should respect the condo just like it were our home. It is not a dump, it is a palace, so we treated it like a palace, with respect. We hope to return to Kona and 203. Thank you for everything. less

Comforts of Home in Paradise

We loved Condo 203. The unit as very clean and was fully equipped with all the necessities as well as extras such as beach mats, snorkels, and beach chairs which helped us enjoy the local hotspots. The beds were extremely comfortable and the binder with the area information was very helpful. A fabulous spot for our Ironman vacation. less

Quiet, comfortable, clean and very relaxing!

This was our first trip to Kona as a family (2 adults/4 children under age 13) and we are so thankful to have found Jim's condo at Kanaloa! The check-in process was easy and the the condo was very clean! It was rather hot inside so once we turned the a/c on, it was a short time for it to cool down. The condo stayed cool and comfortable every day after that. We loved the space of the condo with a large livingroom and diningroom that faces the quiet golf course, and the master bedroom has a large dressing room where we could hang clothes and stow our luggage. The condo had everything that we could possibly need for 7 days! The kitchen had all the cookware and appliances, there were boogie boards and snorkel gear, puzzles and games (we put both puzzles together, which was fun!), and the beds were Sooo comfortable. The property was quiet, not loud or busy like some hotels or resorts (maybe because we were there in July/first of august), and the staff were nice and kept the property spotless. Our kids loved watching the geckos climbing the exterior walls, and we actually found two inside the condo (even with the doors and windows always closed). Since geckos in the home are considered good luck, we were happy to have them inside! We used the snorkel gear at the Kahalu'u Beach just down the road and had the most amazing time seeing tropical fish!! We bought a cheap underwater camera to take lots of pictures of fish and turtles. Believe us when we say that this condo is completely worth staying at! You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars at some other properties to have comfort and relaxation, especially if you're out on adventures most of the day. Thank you, Jim!! less

Slice of Paradise

Condo 203 at Kanaloa at Kona is the perfect setting for a magical trip. Everything you may need has been considered and provided. The beds are so comfortable that I plan to buy one for myself. You need only bring reef friendly sun block and appropriate beach wear. The Kanaloa at Kona resort is a lush tropical paradise. It is meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. If you are looking for a lush tropical location in a serene setting, look no further. less

Simply wonderful

Condo 203 is the cream of the crop! We stayed in this venue for three weeks and couldn't have asked for better accommodations while on the big island. No detail is omitted...even down to clothes soap, cooking utensils/appliances, snorkeling supplies, etc. It's close enough to town and markets, yet tucked away in a beautifully landscaped hideaway. All three pools were lovely and being able to hear the nearby waves crash added the greatest ambiance. We loved it! less

Best holiday location on in Kona, Hawaii

My little brother is an Ironman and we had to come from Denmark to Kona, Hawaii, to partisipate in the world championship Ford Ironman in Kona Hawaii.. I find a cheap flihgt and started looking for hotels/condos etc. When I find Kona at Kanalua on the internet, I was sure that was gonna be our vacation spot. And what a place. We had the best time in Kona, I would absolutely recommend it to everybody. And hopefully we come back next year. less

Great Condo and Nice Pools

The Condo at Kanaloa at Kona was a lot better then we expected, especially for the price. Very spacious 2 bedroom with private deck connected to master suite, and another large deck fronting golf course was great in the evenings. My wife especially enjoyed the 3 pools. The one by the ocean was great, but we preferred the pool next to the activity room where we took full advantage of the ping pong table. Very close to the harbor for snorkel tours and 15 minutes out of downtown Kona if you're into the touristy thing. less

Peaceful & Relaxing athmosphere

Beautiful (clean) condo, great getaway even if we do live on the island. It was relaxing sitting on the lanai in the mornings, sipping coffee and listening to the birds. The condo had everything we needed - dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, extra bed linens, towels, videos, books, games, etc. Will definitely stay there again! less

exceeding expectations!

Our stay at Kanaloa condo 203 exceeded our expectations for our 30 year reunion. From our entry when we found someone had anticipated our arrival and left Hawaiian music, soft lighting, and some air conditioning on to greet us, to our departure, we remained delightfully surprised. Jim seemed to have anticipated our every need; from a cooler and ice packs we used when grocery shopping at Costco, to snorkel equipment, beach chairs and towels, detergent for the laundry, toiletries for the bathroom, a high speed internet connection, any cooking utensil we found a need for, a Hawaiian cookbook with simple recipes, and incredibly comfortable Tempurpedic style mattresses. We loved the Indonesian style daybed on what we dubbed the "sleeping porch!" The condo was spotlessly clean. The grounds are immaculately well-kept and the ocean-side pool was great! Had we had the time and inclination, we could have used the tennis courts for 12 hours a day. The proximity to a grocery store saved us money when we felt like kicking back and relaxing at home rather than heading out to a restaurant. For all of the reasons listed,we liked this condo better than the second one we rented in Waikoloa in fact. Besides the aforementioned attention to detail , we realized that what made it feel particularly special and "home" was the proliferation of Hawaiian artwork we made a point of admiring. Thanks Jim! less

Outstanding in all aspects

I reserved unit #203 at Kanaloa at Kona through aloha Condos. Our 8-day stay was outstanding in all aspects. Booking and instructions: Booking was efficient and our queries were answered promptly. Instructions to access the resort and the unit were crystal-clear and it was easy to find the condo even after dark. The condo: Everything there is arranged to make your stay easy, comfortable and, enjoyable. The unit is perfectly clean and highly functional. The fact that beach equipment was provided and the welcome fruit basket are nice touches that the whole family appreciated. The unit is beautifully decorated and one can see its owner takes great care of it. Books, DVD, and a wealth of touristic information were other aspects we enjoyed. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything was in perfect working order. After long days touring the Big Island, it was great to have peaceful and pleasant dinners at the condo. We also all loved having breakfast on the lanai. Kanaloa at Kona: Grounds are extremely well kept and pretty with all those flowers. We enjoyed the pools and the fact we could use the barbecues. Walking along the shore was another pleasure we had at Kanaloa. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate one second to stay there again. We travel a lot and have rented condos and houses in many locations in Europe and the USa. This was definitely one of our best if not our best rental experiences. less

Perfect Condo

This condo was extremely clean, 1 floor above ground so no bugs at all, very well decorated, had lots of space, very comfortable bed and furnishings- all top-line it seems. Kanaloa Kona is a very peaceful location. My husband and young son really enjoy the surroundings. It is a prefect retreat for us all. Everyone should book through aloha Condos rather than going through the Resort. We had a baseball tournament and we were one of the few that didn't book through the Resort. Check in was so simple. We got there the same time as the other families and we had already settled in our condo, and they were still in the process of checking in. The condo is exactly like how you see it on the website. Clean and relaxing

This is our eighth consecutive year visiting the Big Island and our fifth stay at Kanaloa. This condo is by far one of the superior rentals that we have stayed in in this complex. The condo was not only clean and homey, but during the tsunamia warning the owners personally called us to offer their advise and assistance. The only thing we missed was the small refrigerator on the lanai, we like our beverages nearby in our evening relaxation period. We would highly recommend this unit and hope to aquire it again next year. less

A terrific rental in a great location

We stayed here for two weeks, the first time in this condo but a return visit to Kanaloa. The complex is away from the bustle of Kailua but handy to a shopping centre that has a lot of amenities. The condo is very comfortable and well maintained. There are a lot of nice touches that you often don't find in a condo, like toiletries. The kitchen is well stocked to get you started if you want to cook. Both the lanais are equipped with comfy furniture and perfect for relaxing o dining outside. Our only complaint was having to pay for cleaning twice in two weeks - and the cleaning fees are high. Other than that we would definitely recommend this condo. less

Tropical paradise

We found our condo to be very good. It was very well organised and clean with Hawaiian furnishings and decor. I loved sitting on the sun lounger in the morning and looking at all the beautiful flowers and the tropical birds. I have never slept so well. It was very peaceful. Kona is a great location. 15 mins form airport. The amenities were very good I liked the fact it has a mail box in the main office. The owner of the condo left very good details about where you can find everything. The kitchen and bathrooms of the condo could be updated but I found them to be adequate. My favourite things was the deck and sun loungers.I am usually hard to please but I could not find fault with the condo or the amentities less

Kanaloa at Kona is amazing!

We love the location that is central to one of the best beaches for snorkeling and close to the marina we visited to catch our boat for our scuba outings. The resort is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. The condo itself is beautifully decorated, and had all the comforts or home, plus more. It was so nice to have beach towels, snorkeling gear, boggy board, and ice chest available for our outings. To top things off we even received a welcome basket full of treats. GREAT STAYCATION

Although we live on the east side of the Big Island we really enjoyed our staycation. The condo was spacious, clean and welcoming. All the attention to detail truly made it a "Tropical Retreat". Well-organized

What a wonderful place Kanaloa is! We've stayed there 5 or 6 times now. And this time was no disappointment. Of all the condos we've visited, #203 was the best organized. All the closets were clearly labelled. There were detailed instruction books on the desk. And there were plenty of supplies. We therefore had a care-free stay. We were delightfully surprised to find a gift basket from the owner at the door. We're looking forward to return next year, and we will definitely book through Aloha Condos (rather than with the on-site organization). less

Great location; comfortable; a little dated

This condo is in a great location in the Kailua area. We enjoyed eating meals on the spacious and well-appointed lanai. The condo is well-suited for a couple with young children; it would be crowded for a couple with two teenagers. Although not on the ocean, the view across the fairways of the golf course are fine and relaxing. My only less than stellar statement is that the kitchen and baths have not been updated, so these areas of the condo feel old and tired. less

Very Trustworthy Rental Condo Co.

We often travel as a family. It's always a challenge for us to find accommodation for 5, parents and 3 teenagers. Thus, when I could luckily reach the owner by phone, I felt very good about him as he was very kind and sincere to answer my questions and offer suggestions. He was very professionally communicative throughout our Hawaiian holiday. The location was away from the busy highway and was very quiet, yet very close to shopping and dinning. I believe that the owner vacations in the property when not renting. The place was more than we expected. It was just like being at one's elegantly, tastefully and beautifully decorated home with a large family kitchen, cozy living room, spacious dinning room as well as full cleaning and laundry amenities the family needs. The location of the condo was away from a busy pool, facing the vast green field. It was always quiet to fall asleep with windows open. We stayed at another private 2-bedroom condo in Maui and Oahu on this trip. If he had had the accommodation for 5 of us on these Islands, I would have chosen to stay at his property definitely. His place has been a big part of our good memories of our trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. less

Beautiful ly furnished Condo in great location

Our family stayed at Kanaloa at Kona #203 several years ago. It was our 3rd trip to the Big Island in 5 years, and our first stay at unit #203. By far, unit #203 was the nicest unit we stayed at. It was the most spacious, quietest, and most beautifully furnished. The unit is located on the edge of the golf course, and is situated away from the parking lot, so it is especially quiet. The very large living room looks out to the golf course. The furnishings are not only high quality, but tastefully done in a "tropical" theme, adding to the island experience. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the two bedrooms are very spacious. We stayed at a different unit at Kanaloa at Kona the prior year, but this unit was much nicer (and larger). I would highly recommend this condo for a vacation rental on the Big Island and would absolutely stay again in this unit. less

A Peaceful Oasis

We were very impressed with the owner's efforts to make this condo a welcoming and relaxing place to stay. The attention to detail is very evident - soap supplied for the dishwasher (rather than having to buy a whole box for just a week's stay), waterproof pads for the mattress (we have 2 young kids), detailed information on where to eat and what to do locally, beach toys for the kids, a welcoming gift basket including Kona coffee, all the appliances and dishes one could ever need, and the list goes on and on. I really appreciate it when someone 'gets it,' and Jim clearly does. The condo was a very welcoming and quiet place to come home to after a busy day. We are so glad we didn't stay a little farther north towards busy Kailua-Kona. All this at quite a reasonable price too. Nice condo at Big Island

We just spent a wonderful week at the Kanaloa at Kona. This was our third time stay at this condo. Easy access to southern beautiful snorkeling points such as Kealakekua bay or Puuhouna O Hanaunau park where we could meet dolphins.
