Amazing vacation

I just wanted to reach out and tell you what an amazing vacation we had. First of all, mahalo for sharing your beautiful condo with us and for making our first vacation, in 3 years, so fulfilling. Your condo is such a well-decorated (I love... more the “moon over the ocean” paintings and Hawaiian wood art.), spacious (3 bedroom, 3 bath) “home away from home” overlooking the golf course. We felt spoiled with 2 private lanai’s (one with a wet bar) and access to: 3 pools & hot tubs, tennis & pickle ball courts, barbecues & picnic tables, and an easy walk (under a mile) to the grocery store and restaurants and even shorter jaunt to the beach/ocean. I was grateful for the supplies provided in the closets (beach and snorkel gear) and cupboards (toiletries, extra towels, cleaning supplies and a few games like cards and dominos). The kitchen had everything we needed, plus high-end appliances. It was nice to have the choice of fancy (ceramic) or casual dinnerware and glasses (like plastic cups for going to the pool or the outside barbecues). We appreciated that the condo was very clean with plush carpet and ceiling fans in every room along with the option of air-conditioning. It was also a relief to have quality entertainment systems in the living room, primary, and loft bedrooms, because it was stormy out one evening and we stayed in to watch tv, comfy and dry in the living room on the leather reclining sofas. All in all, your condo, its location, and amenities made our stay on the Big Island easy, relaxing, and fun. Mahalo. less

awesome condo!

We loved this condo! It was so nice and updated and was a great size for our family of 6 (plus 2 others that stayed in a different condo). Amazing Condo, beautiful location!

Our family of 4 enjoyed a 5 night stay in condo 1404. The condo was well appointed, with nice linens and towels, and plenty of kitchen ware. We also had access to boogie boards and snorkel equipment, which we used many times during our stay.... more Checkin and checkout were incredibly easy, as a door code was provided to us for access. The resort amenities were great, with 3 different pools on site. They also have tennis courts on site. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book here again! less

Comfortable, Large unit

This is a comfortable, large 3BR unit at the very north end of Kanaloa. It has very plushy carpeting, good appliances and a partial (not oceanfront) ocean view over the golf course. The Kanaloa is a quiet, well-maintained property with 3 small pools, hot tubs... more and tennis on site. Golf is at the Kona Country Club adjacent to property. Beautiful Hawaiian condo

Everything about this condo is perfect. It’s beautifully remodeled with wonderful Hawaiian art and accents, spacious (more than enough space for six people), very comfortable, quiet (even though it’s on the golf course), well stocked with dishes and towels, supplies, etc and it has an... more amazing ocean view from the lanai. We used the communal barbecue most nights. It’s a short walk from the condo. We turned on the AC some evenings but there is a good breeze at night and we opted to turn it off and listen to the waves instead. The resort is in a great location by the ocean and sunsets are amazing. There were two small issues that are easily addressed. The kettle needs replacing. And we did not find any beach chairs. There were lots of other beach items like umbrellas and toys but no chairs with straps to carry into the beaches. Luxury condo, Beautiful location

We were so blessed to find this condo for our 5 night stay in Kona. The location on the golf course and the ocean gave us amazing sunsets AND sunrises, and the private patio off the master was a peaceful place to enjoy the sunrise.... more All the furnishings, decor and appliances were top notch. The granite in the kitchen was so beautiful and really tied all the colors of Kona together in one surface. It Additionally, the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cooking tools. We grilled out a couple nights on the communal gas grill. There was also plenty of beach gear - chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards for us to put in the car for our island beach-hopping. My parents rented a 2-bedroom unit on the pool/direct ocean front, which was maybe 10% as nice as this condo. We had a little challenge by the A/C issue, as it was about 90 degrees when we arrived, and the house was VERY hot. The bedrooms cooled off after about 4 hours, but we had to buy a box fan to push the cooler air into the common spaces. Thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful condo with us. less

Beautifully Updated and Maintained Condo

We had a total of 5 units at Kanaloa for our stay, including oceanfront condos, and the favorite - and nicest by far - was 1404. This cared for and lovely condo is upgraded and furnished beautifully. There is a great view of the ocean... more from the living room and deck where we enjoyed morning coffee every day. Everything you can think of is provided with this condo - there wasn't one thing missing. I highly recommend 1404 and I'd like to thank the owners for their taste and care for such a wonderful home. Beautiful Condo

The Condo was clean and had every amenity I needed including tennis rackets, beach gear and anything you needed in the kitchen. Appliances were new and modern, unit was tastefully decorated with reclining sofas and comfortable beds downstairs. Beautiful view and the grounds were stunning.... more Prime location just minutes to shops, restaurants and beaches but tucked away in quiet neighborhood. Really everything was at our fingertips. My only issues were that noise really travels from the downstairs unit and we happened to have a family with young children there during our stay that made it frustrating at times. The other disappointment was the loft and loft bathroom, its the only bathroom that wasn't remodeled and really needs it and the twin beds may work for young children but we had all adults and a queen or king bed would be so much better. Lastly, the master has an all glass door to the patio which is beautiful but has no privacy shade which lets light in at sunrise which is great unless you want to sleep past 6am. Overall, its a beautiful home, we loved our stay and will definitely stay again! less

Above and Beyond our Expectations

This condo was a perfect fit for our traveling group. The check in process was simple and fast, The condo was clean and prepared well for our stay. Sandy was quick to respond to any messages, and the condo had wonderful recommendations laid out for... more anything you would want to do. The community was beautiful, and everyone was very nice and welcoming and we did not feel like “outsiders” at all, truly the Hawaiian welcome! The ocean view pool was truly fantastic and we spent quite a bit of time there watching the waves crash against the rocks. We had many excursions planned during the stay and the drive was quick to the majority of the locations. Overall, a 5 out of 5, and we would absolutely be back to this rental! Thanks Sandy! less

A Very Relaxing Getaway

We really enjoyed a relaxing two-week stay here. We love this quiet, less touristy location that is close to so many things. The property updates are wonderful (previous stay in 2016) – art pieces and wood objects are beautiful. Kitchen and bathrooms have been updated... more beautifully as has the flooring. The kitchen is well stocked with nice cooking pans, plates, etc. There were beach umbrellas, mats and towels which we greatly appreciated. New washer/dryer also a plus – no need to over pack! A small problem with the coffee pot was quickly solved with Sandi and Vicky’s help. Thank you to the owner’s for sharing their lovely property. We will be back. less

Fabulous Place

We stayed in unit 1404 and it was fabulous! We travel quite a bit and rent 3 or 4 places per year in various locations. This one is among my favorites. The unit is upgraded throughout and all the appliances, including the washer/dryer were high... more end and in brand new condition. The carpet is brand new and very high quality. The master shower is a huge walk in and the tile work is beautiful. The vaulted ceilings make the place feel extremely roomy and the outdoor fridge was an added bonus. I was expecting a nice place but unit 1404 exceed my high expectations, plus the communications were great and so was the responsiveness of the property manager. I would highly recommend. less

Exceptional Stay

Nicely remodeled condo with some unfortunate noise issues

Pros: This condo is in a great location just walking distance from grocery stores and Keahou Bay. The condo itself is very nicely remodeled and furnished with great artwork throughout. There were plenty of beach towels, umbrellas, coolers, etc. available for use during our outings... more and the kitchen was stocked great for us to be able to cook our meals at "home". There is no barbeque allowed on the lanai in this complex, but the complex provides them and one was very near the unit that we were able to use. The complex is very clean and you can watch a slice of the sunset right from the condo's lanai or walk right down to the ocean. It is beautiful. Sandy, the owner of the condo, was also very helpful. Cons: Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much at this condo, but we did deal with noise issues that would give us pause in staying at this complex again. We are used to staying in quiet locations on the Big Island, having visited dozens of times. The complex starts yard work on the greens and around the complex early in the morning with chainsaws, leaf blowers, etc. - like 7:00-7:30 am. You can't sleep in if you have had a later night. We unfortunately had two separate loud groups who rented below us during our stay. The second group was a bunch of partying college-aged kids staying below us who played loud music, yelled, and smoked pot until late hours. We had to call the condo complex security at one point when things got out of hand and they dealt with it swiftly. However, the party goers stayed nearly the whole time we did and the noise transferred easily since the condos are built on a subfloor and each condo has louvered windows. College aged kids dancing and screaming downstairs = our unit pounding and shaking along with their profanity riddled music and a condo that smells like pot. Not exactly the way our family wanted to relax! This is totally not the fault of the owner, but is definitely something that one should be prepared for. It does seem like the property owner below the unit is not vetting/educating their renters adequately. less

Loved this condo

Aloha! What a perfect place to stay in paradise. Everything you need is thoughtfully provided. Updated, clean and beautifully decorated. Great artwork! This spacious condo (1404) is nicely set on the beautiful golf course and even has a bit of an ocean view. The 4... more of us loved watching the sunsets on the large lanai and in the oceanside pool (one of 3). What a nice kitchen! Granite. New, upscale stainless appliances - great frig which even had condiments in it. Thank you! The kitchen is equally well stocked - cute Hawaiian dishes, all the extras. Full size, new washer and dryer. Beds & linens are very comfortable and the 2 downstairs bathrooms are beautifully updated. We enjoyed the air conditioning for the extra charge. Plenty of towels, beach gear, etc. Very comfortable leather living room furniture and flat screen TVs. Even with Covid reducing the pool hours, we found everything at Kanaloa at Kona so welcoming and usable. Can we come back soon? It was all so nice! We highly recommend staying here. Mahalos. less

Fantastic Christmas Holiday

We had the most fantastic family holiday in your beautiful condo. The décor was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! The breathtaking views of the ocean and golf course, at the same time, were incredible. You have done such a nice job... more of making your guests feel most welcome and at home the minute we entered, love the "turtles". All of the folks at the complex were so nice, always waving back and with a smile "The Aloha Spirit" From watching the waves to sunsets daily was so relaxing!! The colors were spectacular, miss already. The complex was extremely well kept and very convenient location to get supplies, eat out and sight see. At times is was just nice to sit back, enjoy cooking in the great kitchen and swim/hot tub. Favorite pool was the "ocean pool" just because of the views but the other two were very nice as well for the later night swims. Definitely Recommend..... Mahalo less

Great stay

We were pleasantly surprised with the condition of the Condo as it has recently been given new carpet and has extremely nice decor. I don't recall seeing some of these details on the ad when I booked (a couple of months ahead) but it all... more makes for an excellent presentation. The rooms are spacious and comfy, and the community is close enough that we were able to walk a few minutes to join with the other families in our party. My family appreciated each having their own bed and bath spaces, and the kitchen had all the needed appliances. We never actually spoke directly with the owner/manager but found everything we needed. One thing I would suggest is sending departure instructions with the entry information. Thanks for a great stay!! less

Great location

There were 6 in our party, four adults and two children. The layout of the condo was great, it was well appointed and clean. It could use a facelift, but met our needs and was in a great location. The people living in the community... more and the workers were friendly. While we have always stayed oceanfront in Kona in the past we would consider staying here again. Not exactly oceanfront, but very close. It was nice to be in a quiet location. The outside bar on the lanai was a nice surprise. less

COndo 1404

The condo itself needs updating. We had friends that stayed in another one that was updated and a lot nicer. This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this unit. Its needs some TLC but overall a nice place. Now, the condo POLICE lady... more is a Nazi. She is an older lady that walks around like a ninja at night busting people in the pools and smoking etc. She could be nicer in her approach to people. She makes you feel like a child that is being scolded. less

Great location in a lovely resort but unfortunately this condo is badly in need of a good cleaning and update. We arrived to find dirty bedding, hair stuck on the shower doors, smeared tabletops, garbage in the kitchen, and general dirt buildup everywhere. Nothing worse... more than having to clean someone else's hair out of a tub drain before the water would drain! Heads up on the daily construction noise under us would also have been appreciated. less

Great location

My friends and I stayed for 2 weeks and loved the area. We enjoyed the easy Access to the pools& jacuzzi, and the grounds were kept clean. As for the condo itself the carpets were gross walking barefoot, and stained. Needs an overall upgrading. Nice... more partial view of the ocean, and if you like being off the golf course this is a good spot. The staff was wonderful and I'd return for sure. Just not in the same unit. less
